Not only is the atmosphere calming and quiet, but the entire team is courteous, professional, knowledgeable, and empathetic. Each step was easy, there werent long wait times, and I never felt rushed. Everyone offered great explanations leaving me feeling understood and empowered. I definitely found a home for womens health here!
I dont usually write reviews but I feel it important. It took weeks to be scheduled for a regular check-up. After my exam it was determined, I needed an ultrasound. It again, took a couple months to get scheduled. My provider left, I received no notification, and waited for weeks 6 (ish) called numerous times to get my results. I was not given the full results at this time. Nothing like scaring a patient with the possibility of cancer and offering no information for weeks.Fast forward, I needed to be seen. The front desk staff was wonderful. They got me in a timely fashion. The MA was wonderful minus asking me for a urine sample that was never tested. Never looked at. I waited for some time, only to hear the staff outside the door cracking jokes and making fun of a male provider that could have menopause ( not a laughable or light topic for most women) and I continued to listen to the unprofessional passing of jokes. Mind you this is a WOMENS CLINIC. Where women are being seen for real issues of infertility, etc. It was disgusting. A student was brought into the room without my consent. Sat behind my head. Instead of by the provider. It was nerve-racking to have someone behind me, I didnt know, doing who knows what. This provider gave me a piece of information from my ultrasound I was never told, blew off my concerns and again.. few answers were given. I left feeling confused and terrible for any teen or adult thats going in for a first exam. Or a woman that has experienced sexual trauma, or abuse.I was called after my survey by a clinical director. She was kind, and appalled at my experience. She said a Doctor would review my chart and call me. Weeks later. No phone call.Im not thrilled to write this review. But we live in a time where prevention can save lives and safety is so important in this kind of environment.
The whole staff helped me out through my pregnancy and miscarriage before I even had my first OB appt. Dr. Obenauf was amazing. Knew what she was talking about and multiple on call dr.’s and staff stepped in to help me get all the care and treatment I needed in a timely fashion. You can tell their whole staff truly cared. I live in Portales and will travel to abq to use them for any future prenatal and women’s care services!!
I had a wonderful birth experience with Ann. I felt she listened to what I wanted and called my nerves. She cares and was attentive. I couldn’t have asked for a better support team.
Dr. Connors and every single member of the staff that I’ve interacted with have always gone above and beyond! Every visit is great! They ask about things I hadn’t considered, hear out all of my concerns, and generally are what every medical practice should be. Thank you for being proactive in testing to make sure I’m healthy and providing real ACTIONABLE things I can do to pursue a long and wonderful life!
LOVE, love, love this practice! The office staff is very welcoming and manage the front so well- no chaos or confusion👍My doctor is Eunice Baca Pino and I could not recommend someone more!!! I hate these appointments and she was the first one who made me love going in again- she is very professional but has a way of making you feel like youve known her forever, AND she GENUINELY cares💜 I wouldnt go anywhere else after this🔥
I knew that I was being listened to and not simply rushed through my appointment. Addison was helpful, knowledgeable and so nice! I felt like I was in good hands. Thanks WSNM for the great care, ease of checking in, and for following up to ensure that I got an appointment in the first place.
I’m extremely disappointed with the care I received at my appointment today with Dr. Nelson. Her bedside manner was very poor. The second she walked in the room she was very dismissive, rolling her eyes, sighing. I even sensed some sarcasm. Dr. Nelson seemed bothered to even be part of the appointment at all. As a patient, I have never felt such disregard from a healthcare provider before. She made me feel as if I was a liar for all of my symptoms. I left the office in tears. I’ve never had an experience like this at this office before. There was a point during physical examination where I physically jumped because of a tender area, yet received minimal acknowledgement or concern. I was told “So does that hurt, yes or no?” ….At this point I just wanted to walk out of the room. At the end of the appointment, she did not say goodbye, did not tell me to get dressed, she just walked out. I was left confused in the exam room. I’m not one to ever complain or speak up, but this was next level unbelievable. I’ve never had a provider with such a lack of empathy and bedside manner for their patients. Disgusting behavior.
I just had my 7 week post partum follow up appointment. Throughout my pregnancy and delivery, I felt very well cared for by the doctors and staff the entire time. Women’s Specialist’s staff are top notch in professionalism, competency and compassion. There was an incident after delivery when I had concerns after hours and was able to get attention when they returned my phone call. They have my strongest recommendation. I look forward to working with them again when I have my second child.
I have been going to Eunice Baca for about 10 yrs. I was so happy to have found her. She puts me at ease instantly, has a beautiful personality but is very professional and quick. Always open to questions. I highly recommend her and Womens specialists.
I have been going to WSNM for nearly 14 years now and have never had a bad experience. The staff is always professional and friendly, scheduling is always easy, and the offices are always clean. The doctors/PAs/CNPs/nurses seem to really care and listen to my issues. They also always remember small details about me personally, which really makes me feel seen. I would absolutely recommend WSNM for womens care.
I saw Dr. Okun at the Jefferson location. She went above and beyond to help me when I came in desperate need of help. I am so grateful to Dr. Okun and everyone at WSNM for listening to me and helping me manage my menopause symptoms. I cant thank you enough.
Reception was very professional and couteous. The Nurse Practioners and receptionist personnel attended to me very quickly with no waiting. Dr Okune is very professional, personable and showed she cared and listened intently to me while I described my issue.
I am so glad I found this place!! It was so easy to get in and all the staff was very welcoming and professional. Eunice Baca, CNP was very knowledgeable, gentle, and quick. I would definitely recommend this place. And Sam, the phlebotomists in their TriCore lab in the back was also amazing. Painless blood draw first stick and no bruising!
Doctors are great, the business office chose humiliation tactics and intimidation. I went in for my wellness annual check up, I was later charged additional money, even though you aren’t supposed to. I was told that I must have discussed something that cost me additional money. I was caught off guard and asked, what did I discuss that costs extra? I wasn’t being a jerk. I really wanted to know so I can make sure not to discuss anything with my doctor that can cost more money. Durning my next appt the business office said I had to talk to them before I could check in. I sat in the check in, and while on the phone berated me for not paying them their additional money for my annual check in exam. Annual check ups are required by law to be free. I didn’t want to tell her with dozens of strangers around, in the receptionist area, that my Pap smear shouldn’t be any cost to me, so I tried my best to remain discreet and let her grill and humiliate me. Even though I was forced to be humiliated in front of dozens of people, before I went to see the doctor, I didn’t want to share my medical items with them too. Important to note, I had tried paying when I first checked in, but the receptionist said no, and also later online, but the website spun and spun, and although I did record it, to prove it, she just wanted to humiliate me. The doctors are great but unless you are prepared to pay the business office what they want exactly when they want, be blamed for their website spinning when taking payments, be charged additional money for discussing “something” durning your appt without knowing that talking durning your appt will cost you extra, charged for annual exams, be prepared to be humiliated and bullied when you check in. This was all over a small amount of a copay, less than $30. Their business office reaction is disproportionate for the amount it was. I won’t be coming back, because even though the doctors, nurses and medical staff are great, when my doctor said she needed a procedure to address my condition, my first thought was, I don’t know how much it would cost me, and I don’t want to go through this every time I have to check in. What it it was a couple of hundreds of dollars and needed to wait for my next paycheck to pay? What if the website wouldn’t take my payment again? What would be the business offices reaction if it was more than just $30? It’s not a very comforting thought. The doctor left after five minutes, this time, because I don’t have a lot of money, I was careful not to ask anything or discuss anything, only the exact topic of what they said the appt was for, and made sure not to ask any questions. Asking for time to think about the needed procedure, I am not sure if I can afford it, even with insurance. How much cash do I need? I would think of this office for affluent people. I recommend only going if you have a lot of cash or credit cards with a big limit, or don’t mind being humiliated if you owe them money.
Eunice Baca, CNP is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Unfortunately I forgot the name of her assistant that helped me but she was there for last years visit as well. Their bedside manner & professionalism is very appreciated and you can tell that they genuinely care about Womens Health. I also had to get blood drawn when I was there and Seth or Sam was also amazing. Very skilled and got my vein on the 1st try and no bruising.
Highly recommend. As a new patient, they really took the time to discuss my history and any needs that I have. Very professional, courteous, and kind.
My experience with WSNM has been exceptional. Dr. Okun and the entire staff are consistently professional, highly competent, kind and friendly. I have great confidence in the services and am grateful for the caring and concern shown to me at every visit.
I have never had a more positive experience with a doctor than I have here! Dr. Okun has been amazing ! I have never had better medical care ! Also had my best imaging experience with Kathryn Montano. I feel so well taken care of at WSNM.
Dr. Knight always listens to my concerns and gives many different ways to address a situation. I have always felt comfortable talking to her and the previous doctor I had that retired. Been going here for about 7 years, and will continue to be seen here.
I really enjoy being a patient at this practice. Appointments are on time, check-in is easy and can be done mostly online, and the providers are very knowledgeable and care about any health problems you bring up!
I have been a patient at Woman’s Specialist of New Mexico for a few years now and have had nothing but great experiences. From the front desk receptionists to the doctors or Nurse Practitioners I have ever seen here are nothing but professional and kind. I recently had an appointment with Addison Rauch, CNP and she was wonderful! I would highly recommend women to receive care here.
10/10 would recommend! The service I received here was top notch, from the front desk all the way to the physician. I had never had an ultrasound before, but the nurse explained every detail to me and made sure I was 100% comfortable before she began. Can’t say enough good things about this place!
Women’s specialists goes out of their way for me and my spouse every time! Jennifer at the front desk treats my wife and ANYONE in their lobby with respect. We always show up on time for our appointment and love all the doctors there too. Can’t get much better to be honest just show up on time.
Tali Jacobson is an excellent provider. I found her bedside manner to be exceptional. She’s knowledgeable, patient, kind, and comforting. The entire staff was friendly and welcoming.
Excellent service and wonderful people working at the check in. I was amazed about Dr Moyer, who I had not been with before and I will always go back to her. incredibly kind and understanding. Wonderful doctor.
I adore this place! I love the efficiency of the pre-check in process, my appointments are usually on time or within a small window and Dr. Obenauf and her team are wonderful to work with.
The practice is very professional and knowledgeable. My experiences and communications have been excellent. I am so fortunate to have Dr. Okun as my specialist.
Dr. Moya was awesome about listening to my concerns and getting me the treatment I need to be better! I am grateful to her for listening and taking me on as a new patient!
Every person I have seen at this practice has made me feel at ease. Dr. Moya is excellent at what she does and I felt truly listened to and heard. Ive had troubles with getting other doctors and surgeons to hear me out and I never had that difficulty here. I felt like I was treated as a person and had a chance to explain my wishes without being brushed off or dismissed. I would recommend this place to others.
Jennifer at the front desk gave me poor customer service. As for Dr. Nelsons, patient care isnt a priority. Im very disappointed that in this situation patients are treated like cattle.
As a first time currently pregnant woman myself, I strongly suggest any woman who is looking for a family atmosphere or community type of support from their prenatal care providers to consider looking elsewhere.Where I thought Womens Specialists might be the anchor in my storm of overwhelmingness and worries including, Am I doing this right? and What are the best kind of decisions I can make for me and baby?, I was met with nothing but disappointment after my first (and last) prenatal visit with them. From the moment my husband and I walked in, every single staff member seemed to have a jaded predisposition and the ability to make me feel like I was somehow causing them some sort of personal inconvenience to them just because I was there, and worse, I was supposedly pregnant. While in the examination room, I was met with even more negative energy from the nurse- each question she asked seemed to come out as annoyance, and I couldnt help but feel like I was doing all of this wrong.A part that really hurt me was when they completed the urine pregnancy test and the nurse said, Well. Looks like you really are pregnant. And mind you, I was coming in at 14 weeks. The words really are are so rude and unnecessary, especially since it was my first visit and they had no reason to doubt me or my character. The Midwife afterwards was a monotone impatient person- clearly upset and annoyed with my questions and concerns about certain procedures and standardizations within the medical field. She would give me a list of procedures and things that HAD to be done, and when I would ask, Do I have to do all these things, are there any alternatives? or Can you explain to me more about why I should do this, or why its required? I was met with a lot of pushback. Because thats what everyone does was the generic answer I received for most things. She also prematurely diagnosed me and dragged me down a rabbit hole of concern over preeclampsia issues because my blood pressure was slightly elevated at the visit. (We later confirmed that it was probably my nerves and frustrations from the beginning of this experience with another doctor, as I dont have any issues or concerns with preeclampsia 6 months in.)If youre still reading this review- I wish it ended here. Next, we sat down with the Billing department to get a better idea and picture of the costs associated and how it would all work with our insurance. In short, they figure out health insurance loopholes to get you to pay more money. All the money you pay to use their services basically applies to nothing if anything (and I mean anything) were to happen or be different than a perfectly perfect pregnancy. The woman was evasive and would be vague in her answers on purpose, making me feel more frustrated because I was trying to understand, and I wasnt helped in the ways I was looking for. There is more, but this is long enough.Being pregnant is exhausting enough - dont let your prenatal care make it worse. The medical industry is a BUSINESS first and foremost, and you are a PAYING customer. If you dont like it or dont agree with it, take you, your baby and your money elsewhere. Its the only way to enact change.
Eunice Baca was the best I have ever seen and made me feel so comfortable! She has a great knowledge base and gave me so much information and listened to me and my specific concerns. So happy to have scheduled with her!
Dr Nelson is one of the worst doctors I’ve ever seen, very rude and inconsiderate. Did her job very poorly, she talked for maybe 5 minutes before she sent me on my way, after throwing my eating disorder in face multiple times not appropriate for any doctor to do. Never will be returning to this location
Very disappointed in the Jefferson location today. My partner walked in 3 seconds passed the 10 minute window and had to reschedule WITH A DIFFERENT DOCTOR despite an empty lobby, because their doctor is out next week. Thats....pretty ridiculous considering how difficult it already is to schedule and receive care there. It feels heartless and dehumanizing to drive over 40 minutes up here just to get turned away from a SCHEDULED appointment discussing a scan involving things that could be seriously harming my partner.
Jennifer is absolutely amazing! She’s always goes above and beyond and is so considerate! Because of her, I will be continuing to come back here!
Dr. Moya is the best. So kind and understanding. She is so professional, thorough and makes me feel comfortable. I highly recommend!
I would highly recommend this clinic for all your female needs. Once I arrived, I was taken back to a room within 10 minutes. I only waited 5 minutes for Dr. Gough to come in for the exam. I really appreciate his professionalism, and thoroughness.
Blown away by my experience with Women’s Specialty! From the scheduling and check in, to the appointment itself, it was a great experience. Eunice was so kind and patient, I would recommend her to anyone!
I highly recommend this practice. Everyone I encountered was professional and courteous. Dr Geough could not have been better at listening, taking time to explain my choices and making a recommendation for the best course of action. I am very happy with the excellent healthcare I received at this visit. Highly recommend.
Finally! Womens healthcare providers I can trust. I felt so seen, heard, and cared for. Dr. Obenuaf put me at ease about all my questions that I couldnt seem to get answered elsewhere. I highly recommend this provider.
Place is nice and the dr i saw was friendly and amazing. She listened to everything and is trying to find the best plan for me to fix ny health
Dr Eunice really listened to me, she was very nice and really wanted to help me and take care of my needs. The staff was very helpful and professional. I would recommend my friends and family.
Excellent service, clean facility, dedicated doctors! I highly recommend this place, especially Dr. Okun. She does a really good job of talking through your needs and symptoms.
My 3rd annual exam and I have nothing but good things to say. Friendly staff. NP Eunice is awesome! No one likes getting an exam but she makes me feel comfortable every time. Professional and courteous. I am in the medical field and I highly recommend this place.
Review for Dr. Kathrine Nelson! I’m pregnant with my second child and I went through woman’s specialist of NM with my first and for the most part they did well. But this pregnancy I wanted to do things differently. Dr Nelson talked to me for maybe 60 seconds before telling me that my age 32, my weight 177 (height 5 1) and my previous c section and also previous gestational diabetes will not allow me to do a vaginal birth. She didn’t do any tests at all. She pretty much told me that everything I wanted to try for is impossible. And while explaining that she also called me obese more than once. I do not disagree with her that I am overweight and I don’t disagree with the word obese because I am for my height. And I’m not upset that she said I was obese because I believe there should be a standard where a dr can tell their patients that they are unhealthy and obese. But the way she called me obese more then once was malicious and there was no plan to help me get to a healthy weight so I can have a healthy labor and delivery. She was already planning on putting me on metformin before running any tests. The whole encounter was very transactional. Get as many patients as possible but not wanting to actually help them. It seemed like a power move. Like I’m the dr and your the obese over aged 32 year old that can’t have a baby vaginally. It was wild. I agreed with every she said because I have seen doctors do unspeakable things if you question them. It’s unfortunate that doctors are only taught to diagnose and prescribe but not prevent or even cure. She could have gotten me on a diet that would prevent me from getting Gestational diabetes and even help me lose some weight so I can have a healthy labor and delivery. But that was not in her plans. Thankfully I am questioning everything this pregnancy and dr Nelson will not be able to diagnose and prescribe for me anymore. When did doctors stop helping their patients?!
Doctors here really listen to your every concern, and all the staff are super friendly. I’ve delivered 3 of my 4 children through this practice. And I honestly love them all! Thank you Dr. Knight and Dr. Jordan.
Dr. Okun is the best. She is very thorough and very patient. She is very professional but also very warm, personable and caring. Every experience Ive had from the moment I check in, get my vitals done by the nurse, to my appointment and the checkout is smooth and wonderful. I would highly recomment Womens Specialists of NM.
Registration at the front desk is very efficient & quick. Dr. Eunice Baca Pino is great! She takes the time to chat & makes you comfortable to ask difficult questions. She listens & relates to you! Im thrilled shes the one I go to for my annual exams!
Dr. Okun is awesome. She’s professional and caring. She takes her times and never makes you feel uncomfortable or rushed. She answers questions and she asks questions about health concerns or other issues that are addressed.
This is Mary Roda. I had my first doctor visit at Womens Specialists of NM yesterday with Dr. Gough. The facility on Jefferson is very nice, and the staff were professional and friendly. Checking in was easy. I didnt have to wait long to see the doctor, who was knowledgeable and thorough. I would recommend their services.
They are very professional, they were on time for all of the appointments I have had (sometimes even a little early) and make you feel very comfortable by explaining everything and answering all of your questions.
Eunice Baca was very kind and easy to talk to. She did the examine quick and made the experience easy. Thank you
I’ve always had good experiences with the Doctors here, but they refuse to give you a birth control prescription unless you get a pelvic exam every year, despite the fact that it is not medically recommended that women have this invasive, uncomfortable exam that often (for healthy women, it is recommended every 3-5 years). I’m guessing it’s so they can get the insurance $$ from all the unnecessary appointments.
Midwives are absolutely amazing but staff at the front is always so rude. I also called twice to request a prescription because I am pregnant and having a very hard time breathing, it’s been 2 weeks and I still have not heard anything back.
I dont think ive ever rated a gyn before, but my last exam was painless and friendly. Definitely will be coming back here!
I am so thankful to have found this practice! Dr. Okun and her team take very good care of me!!
Ive seen Dr. Obenauf for my last 4 pregnancies (one was a miscarriage). Im so thankful I found this place! The front office staff is always so nice and friendly. The nurses and doctors actually care about your concerns and questions. Highly recommend!
Dr. Okun is so great! I’ve been her patient on and off for over 30 years. She is so thorough and spends time talking about all aspects of my life- not just gynecology. She is an expert on menopause and was really a saving grace for me during that time of my life. Highly recommend this practice!
I recently had an appointment at this doctors office and I was really impressed by the level of service I received. The doctor was incredibly informative and took the time to patiently answer all of my questions. Not only that, but the staff were extremely professional and friendly, making me feel welcome and at ease throughout my appointment. I highly recommend this doctors office to women in need of Obsterics, Gynecology, Midwifery, Cosmetic Services and who is looking for a positive and stress-free experience. Thank you for the great service!
Doctor Conners is such a wonder doctor he really takes his time and listens with compassion. I drive three hours away and his care is worth it
I came to Women’s Specialists after receiving news that I had a miscarriage and could not get in to see my other provider. Everyone I interacted with was very kind and compassionate and gave me some tools to help get through a very hard time. Dr Connors was willing to take time to answer my questions and gave me hope for my situation. I’m very grateful for the care I received here
I found that my exam was thorough. I was asked if I had any concerns or questions. I do recommend Dr. Nelson.
Easy to set up appt, great service, my practitioner had great bedside manner. Would recommend.
This was my 1st experience with this clinic. They were friendly, efficient and professional. I love my new doctor also, Elisabeth Obernauf. She is so wonderful, comforting and caring. Great experience.
Dr. Okun was so much better than I was expecting. I’d been with a different doctor there in the past who no longer took my insurance. So I got “stuck” with Dr. Okun the only one in the office who did take my insurance.I must say this was a blessing in disguise. Dr. Okun was amazing. Very thorough and listens well. She offers great solutions. And listens to what you say.
Cute and clean facility. The staff was super nice. I have friends who have seen Dr. Elisabeth Obenauf for their pregnancies and I loved meeting her. She was also super nice, and gave me some great information.
I wont be going here again. Im currently pregnant and i got an infection from when i got a pap smear done and was hurt physically due to not doing things carefully. I went to my obgyn today and she told me it was because of them. They arent careful at all and just do everything too fast when its your turn, because i was there for 4 hours and was given no good information but everything they told me was false.
Everyone is nice. Office is very clean. Highly recommend.
I have been coming to WSNM for 30 years! Great for obstetrics and routine healthcare also.
Dr Moya was very informative and walked me through my visit very patiently. I really felt like she addressed all my concerns.
Dr. Connor and his team are just phenomenal.Everyone in the front office as well. Fantastic place. They are understanding, helpful, and thorough. I wont go anywhere else. Would recommend to anyone! Riverside location has great people as well.
Dr. Baca is my hero. I moved to Albuquerque recently and hadn’t seen a gynecologist in years (embarrassing, I know). She’s simply incredible. I needed a quick follow up to get my IUD changed out. Minimal discomfort and over in 22 seconds. I feel so fortunate to have found her and can’t recommend her enough!
Dr carol Conners is great. He really knows his stuff. I was lucky enough to have him in the surgery room for my cesarean. He did what was necessary for the health of my baby. Everything went smoothly. His tech Letty is sweet and considerate. The front desk ladies are always very kind as well.
I appreciate the consistent and professional care from everyone at Women’s Specialists. The front desk staff and medical assistants are great. Dr. Okun is outstanding - it makes all the difference when someone listens, discusses the concerns, thoroughly explains options, and really cares about the treatment they are providing.
I have always received excellent care at this office. Communication is great, staff is friendly and Dr. Okun is a great! I am grateful
My experience with Womens Specialists has been nothing but great! Dr Gough is helped me figure out and remedy my issues. My surgery turned out better then I had hoped and my recovery has been great. Both Dr Gough and my primary Dr Domme have been a God send. Thank you to the both of you!!
Dr. Gough was awesome as always. I waited less than 5 minutes in the waiting room, I didnt feel rushed, I felt listened to and understood, all my questions were answered, and I left with a clear plan of what to do next for my overall health. Plus, I walked down the hall to get the lab work I needed, all in one place. Huge time saver! Ive been going here for years, through 2 babies, and Ive recommend this group and especially Dr. Gough to all my girlfriends.
I received a bill through the mail stating I have a balance.. I called to resolve and they claim that Dr. Gough made notes after my appointment that is what caused the balance to accrue.. ok? I called over the phone and the billing personnel noticed I was not charged the tax the day of my appt after I self paid $176.50 from a grand total of $194.00.. so now my PT Balance is $17.50 due to the after 12/08/2023 visit notes updated by the dr.. I have used WSNM in the past numerous times in different locations for whomever had the availability, however it is always the Jefferson location that has gross attitude from the front desk and is always late to seeing me for the scheduled appointments. I do my due diligence before I schedule ( i had a name change and have been struggling with a lot to get it updated with my insurance and other stuff, i made sure it was ok to self pay and that it was available to do so and it was not a big deal while on the phone prior to scheduling.. the front desk made sure to show me that It was a big deal) and before I arrive but these people just seem so miserable to be there. I am annoyed that I even dealt with this location but I needed to, Jefferson location was honestly my last resort for immediate attention that was not urgent care for a non emergency. Regardless, I do not know what their problem is, but if they know, they need to reevaluate their employment and mental health.
Everything was perfect after not being to see Dr Goeff in two years. Literally only a couple weeks before my husband died. As usual Dr Goeff asked about my girls(daughters and granddaughters) then told me how sorry he was for my loss. He had seen my daughter the week before who had told him. He reminded me to take care of myself and not just everyone else. I love Dr Goeff and Womens specialists I cant imagine going anywhere else.Kimberly Golich
Their front off scheduling employees are the worse! Rude, short tempered .. even when asked the smallest of questions. Really wish there was an alternative place I could be seen. 🙄🙄
Overall, my experience here has been fair. My one complaint is the availability for midwives. I have been trying throughout my whole pregnancy to maintain consistency with a provider, which seems impossible. My only availability for appointments is Friday. Apparently, they have no midwives available Fridays so Ive been seeing whichever Doctor is open. There is no consistency there, either. Ive jumped around between at least 5 different midwives and 3 different Doctors. This is my 4th baby and there have been major touch points at the end of my pregnancy which seem to be missed because of the lack of reliability in scheduling. This establishment seems to be more concerned with accommodating their employees than their patients. Having absolutely no options for midwives at 2/3 of the locations for Fridays comes off unprofessional. I would have been required to make an hour and a half drive from my house in the East Mountains to the Riverside location in order to see a provider consistently. Although, the treatment has been adequate, Id still consider it subpar. I came here hoping for a better experience than Id had in New Mexico with previous pregnancies. So far, I havent found gynecologist in this state that seems to value the work they do, especially, in comparison to the care Ive received in other states.
I went to Dr. Gough at Womens Specialists due to the discovery of what turned out to be a bladder prolapse. I was very nervous about seeing a male gynecologist, so I brought my husband with me. The first thing I asked Dr. Gough was what made you decide to be a gynecologist my husband I were impressed with his reply. I was shocked to learn that I would a hysterectomy and a bladder repair surgery. Dr. Gough took the time to answer all my questions. (I had two pages worth) and je addressed all my concerns. When he explained my condition, he did it in easy-to-understand language. This doesnt happen often with doctors anymore. Dr. Gough was the Dr performing my surgery. When I got to the hospital, he came in to explain to me what was going to happen which I very much appreciated as there is nothing like the fear of the unknown. During each of my visits, I found the staff to be friendly and some even had a sense of humor. I am writing this because it is increasingly difficult to find a medical provider that takes the time to talk to their patients.
Ive been going to Dr. Rebecca Okun for 5 years now. Shes extremely thorough, offers balanced options for care, and is very personable too. I know Im in great hands when in her care.
I love how open and honest I can be with my doctor. Which is Dr. Gough. It’s important to feel comfortable and he does that. He has a great team working with him. The entire staff is amazing. Blessed to have found them.
Great experience! I really appreciated getting an appointment so quickly to deal with an emergency. Really good service, especially from Dr. Knight & her assistant! Thank you both!!! The only problem was that front desk staff refused to give a lost elderly man directions to a nearby rehabilitation facility. It wast a busy time & I was the only one waiting to check out, so it would have been nice if the woman at the front desk had helped the very nice but confused gentleman. The way she handled it just came across as, frankly - rude & discourteous. (My husband & I helped the man out in the parking lot.)
Actually, I had an accident before seeing Dr. Connor. I fell and hit my head in two places on the tile bathroom floor. The staff were excellent and caring as they helped me and we waited for the EMTs. Dr. Connor came in and spoke to my husband and I, recommending I go to Urgent Care or the ER and that I follow-up with my primary. He came in to see us between patients and made us very comfortable.I can hardly wait to go in and see these people again as a patient on my next visit!
I love my provider - she’s empathetic, validating & gives space to address all concerns & provides knowledge. Appointments feel collaborative. You’re not treated like a number here. The wait time to get an apt can feel longer but just have to plan ahead and call earlier in advance. 🫶🏼
Why does WSNM not return phone calls.? I have called multiple times and have been promised a call back. Never happens.
Great experience. Provider took the time to listen to my concerns. Kind, friendly and helpful.
Hands down the best experience I have had at a OB/GYN. Staff is very friendly and kind. I saw Ann Gabaldon and she was so understanding, she heard me and didn’t push me to do anything I didn’t want, and didn’t stop looking for options. She also reassured me she has my back every step of the way and followed up with me the next day as promised.
I went with (and for) my mother and the service from everyone at this facility was outstanding. They treated my mother very well. She is thrilled that she might finally have a solution to an issue shes had for over 14 years!!
I saw Eunice today and she was very attentive and explained, in depth, my medical needs. She was very kind and smiled a lot. I really like her and will see her next year.
Jefferson office is always great! All of the staff was very welcoming and helpful!
I recently had an ultrasound at Womens Specialists of New Mexico. The sonographer who did my ultrasound was experienced and pleasant. She described the pictures on the screen and answered several of my questions. I appreciated her expertise and kindness.
Terrible Experience that left me crying in the parking-lot. Scheduling is a nightmare triple check they scheduled you at the proper location to avoid the treatment I have received.I showed up to my appointment to be told my appointment was scheduled at a different location. When I originally scheduled I requested the Jefferson location. I was told its my fault for showing up to the wrong location knowing I scheduled at this Jefferson location and that it was a scheduling error on the offices part. Instead of smoothing over the situation, I was put to blame and treated very rudely by the woman that checked me in. Ive always had pleasant experiences at Womens Specialist of NM, so this was very disappointing and unsettling.
Dr. Gough and the staff at Womens Specialists of New Mexico are extremely kind and caring while being conscientious and at all times professional. Thank you for a great experience!
I had a great experience with WSNM during the prenatal period and delivery of my daughter. Everyone I worked with was professional and kind. My pregnancy and delivery were both very easy. I felt well cared for and highly recommend this organization.
Dr. Knight and her NP were absolutely amazing. They worked with me and made accommodations to get me seen. The other staff at this location have been amazing so helpful and kind anytime I speak with anyone.
My experience with Dr. Moya and the nursing staff was excellent. I was pleased with the thoroughness, thoughtfulness and professionalism of all involved. And Dr. Moya left a phone message today, as she had promised, (the day after my appointment) regarding the results of my blood test - very much appreciated. It was refreshing to receive such good care, something that isnt always evident elsewhere. I was referred to Dr. Moya by my daughter-in-law and I would recommend her and your facility to others. Thank you.
I like my doctor. However, at my 16 week appointment they were unable to get me in for my 20 week ultrasound with my doctor and said I needed to see a different provider for this important appointment.I hesitantly agreed. Now, less than a week before that appointment, and after my husband and I have both taken off work and arranged childcare for our toddler (who is not allowed to come) they call and cancel. They say there is only ONE other appointment available for the following two weeks- on a day we don’t have childcare available. So, I am left to go alone to my ultrasound so my husband can stay home with our son.She says then she can schedule me for several weeks later- when I ask if that is ok since by that time I’ll be well past 20 weeks- she suggests I call the nurse line and ask them myself. It shouldn’t be this difficult to get prenatal care.
I recently came here for an annual appointment that I always dread. I felt so taken care of and heard by Eunice Baca. She made me feel as comfortable as possible and answered all my questions and concerns. I am so glad I was referred them and will continue to see them as long as I live in NM. Thank you, Womens Specialists! Your whole team was amazing! From the first person who greeted me and checked me in, to the nice young woman who checked me out. You are all a gem in a field that can be over under funded and under staffed. I appreciate you greatly!
Dr. Okun is awesome. She is one of the very best doctors I have seen.
Dr. Gough is seriously the best. He is genuinely concerned about you not just as a patient but as a person.
I was referred to a prenatal specialist and told they would call me 12 weeks later and only one ultrasound done and still no call. I have had pre term labor with my 2 other pregnancies therefore this is SUPER important to me. I have left voicemails for the nurses to call me back and after leaving a couple STILL no call back. I will be switching prenatal care. VERY disappointed.
I really appreciate this office. The space itself was nice and clean and the front desk staff were delightful. The midwife I worked with was patient and understanding and took great care with me. I highly recommend this office!
Everyone at the office was super kind. The nurse and doctor were both very welcoming and made me feel very comfortable. I was able to ask questions, and was in and out quickly.
If not for Dr. MOYA, this would not be a 5-star review at all. Ive been going to WSNM for nearly 30 years, and the care has always been okay because I havent had any real concerns. That changed in December 2022. And the okay care dropped drastically. After feeling like I was being shuffled off from one person to another, I was sent to Dr. Moya, who is absolutely the BEST doctor Ive encountered anywhere. I would recommend her to anyone! She not only listens, she HEARS what youre saying. Shes compassionate and not afraid to say she doesnt know (while also assuring me shes looking for answers), and she doesnt just brush off my concerns or fears. In other words, she treats me like Im a person, not a quick turn-around patient. I honestly cannot give high enough praise for her.(Also, a shout out to all the nurses and other staff at the Jefferson office. I wish I could list everyone personally by name because everyone Ive encountered there has been so friendly and very helpful.)
Dr Obenauf is wonderful, both friendly and professional! She listens carefully and has excellent communication skills. Does not rush through the visit!
I do not recommend. We hope that private practices have better care and knowledge. Yes, you can can a quick appointment but if you have a serious woman issue youre better off going to UNM or Mayo Clinic. I was meet with a provider who spent her time typing on a computer and I didnt do feel heard or understood and instead was met with answers like well I dont know what to tell you . No one should ever say that to a patient! I wont be returning back.
Ive come here for prenatal care with all 3 of my babies. Never had any issues! The staff is very fast, friendly and caring. Rebecca Leeman and Alisha Smith were my midwives. I highly recommend this place for your care!
I love Dr. Obenauf- she is definitely the best OBGYN I’ve ever had and generally my favorite doctor to visit. She takes time to listen to me and asks me questions and really gives me time and attention to address my concerns. I fully recommend her and her team (Carrie rocks!)- so respectful and caring.
I really love Women’s Specialist on the west side. Dr Solis Gilmore is the best! She takes time with me, listens to all of my concerns, answers all of my questions, takes time to educate and walk me through things. If it wasn’t for her, and the nice office staff this wouldn’t be 5 stars. I have been going here for about 10-11 years and will never go anywhere else. With that being said it’s so hard to get ahold of a provider/ leave a message for the providers/ following up on referrals. You get transferred to the operator, told to leave a message and never hear back. It’s unfortunate that a place with amazing providers cannot step up their game with communication.
Impressed with my doctor Carl Conners . He was thorough and very nice , very knowledgeable and did a great job listening to my concerns and issues. His staff was also very nice including his nurse and front desk. I would highly recommend women’s specialist on nm .
My husband and I just had our first appointment here last week to confirm our first pregnancy. Dr. Gough was incredibly thorough walking us through each step of the appointment and also what’s to come! We had a chance to ask any questions and were even given a packet with tons of helpful pregnancy info. I feel so much more at ease with this pregnancy knowing I have the support we found here. Highly recommend!
I really love this clinic. Everyone is so nice. The mid wives are really amazing. They work together so if for some reason you cant see your normal mid wife, they will get you with the next available mid wife to make sure your being seen as soon as possible! I have loved my treatment and care here. I feel cared about my mid wife Ann Gabaldon, I really appreciate her.
This doctors group is the best & Dr. Kathleen Nelson was wonderful. They got me in quickly, did the required tests & Dr. Nelson called me with the results as soon as they came. I felt that I was in great hands.
Friendly front desk staff, easy pre-check in, and excellent doctor (Elisabeth Obenauf) who listened to, took time with, and respected me. She was down to earth, knowledgeable, open, and caring, and I never felt rushed. I was even able to get blood work done immediately after my visit right on site. Highly recommend this practice!
I have never had a bad experience with any of their providers! They make me feel comfortable and the wait time is never long. Highly recommend them and all of their providers! Just saw Dr. Evans and she was fantastic and so kind! Dr. Contreras has been my OBGYN for years and she is absolutely, hands down the best!! Dr. Gough is a skilled surgeon who is patient and kind! Seriously- all the providers have been great.
LOVE THIS PLACE THEY WORK SO FAST AND GREAT TO GET WAT U NEED DONE N TAKEN CARE OF THEY TREAT U LIKE FAMILY FRIENDS GO NO WHERE ELES FOR MY CARE THEY SAVED MY LIFE 5x N FOR THEM AM FOREVER GREATFUL AND BECUZ GOD LOVES ME SO MUCH THAT HE SENT THESE PPL IN TO MY LIFE TO GET MY HEALTH BAKK IN ORDER THANK U JESUS ALL THE GLORY GOES TO U KING OF KINGS
I have always been one with bad experiences at OBGs. Im a women with Endometriosis I was diagnosed at 25, at that age I was told I just needed to get a full historectamy to help with the pain plus you wont be able to get pregnant anyways if you do you will have a lot of complications or a lot of miscarriages(exact words from another OGB). I didnt want to give up so I continued searching. At 29 I found Dr. Gouch he told me it was a good idea for him to do a laperoscapy and see whats going on to pretty much start from scratch. I agreed to the surgery, it went great he said he went in and removed cyst and some endometriosis I was feeling great for a couple of year. A couple weeks ago I ended up in the ER once again due to my endometriosis. Yesterday going into the office I wasnt feeling very well I was in pain and nausea the front desk ladys were very friendly got me a throw up bag and one on the other ladys in the back was kind enough to get me some water and an apple juice to see if that would help. When going in the room I spoke with Dr. Obenauf she was amazing! She explained everything so well that I felt comfortable with my options! They arent the greatest, but to feel like I had more options then a historectamy definitely gives me peace of mind and I appreciate that greatly! The whole team in in itself are amazing keep doing great guys!
Dr. Knight is amazing - so personable, patient, & knowledgeable! Front office staff are consistently friendly & helpful. Ive also had good experiences with Sara Evans & Eunice Pino who are professional & helpful.
Front office staff is friendly they are welcoming. On the other hand Dr Katherine Nelson I highly don’t recommend her. Very avoidant, been there done that attitude … What I was saying she’s heard before. Not caring.. zero interest in what I was saying.
Overall good experience, except the nurse that checked me in had the personality of a paper bag, zero eye contact and lacked any sort of human interaction. Doctor was good and through.
Dr. Obenauf and entire staff are very kind and welcoming
I followed my DO Connors here several years ago and stay because of him, but this is definitely one of the best places for various female health issues PLUS they take my Pres health plan (and many others.)
I was pleasantly surprised how fast they gave me an appointment after learning I’d been to urgent care the day before. They offered a same-day appointment but there was a conflict with that time for me so they saw me the next day. There is significant construction going on in the waiting area but they have you wait in your car, which is fine with me. They text when it’s your time. Since I know my carrier is inconsistent I kept my eye out for the text. My phone didn’t alert me to the text 🙄 then went right to voice mail instead of ringing 🙄 when they called BUT the nurse did leave a message so I was only late going in by a minute. The nurse was patiently waiting for meWhen I went in. She said it happens a lot so keep your eye on the phone/texts/VMThe nurse and doctor were very thorough (I saw Dr. Jorden), Respectful and included my preference when coming up with a treatment plan. The office called the next day to inform me of a referral they’d made and provided me with information on how to follow up if needed.
So appreciative of the care here! Very professional and knowledgeable. Dr. Knight has a way of making me feel very welcome and heard. The experience is very personalized and she does her homework! Within seconds of walking in the room, she asks follow up questions to topics we discussed a year ago like it was yesterday! I appreciate that attention to detail. Thank you!
My experience here was great. My baby is 2 weeks old now so unfortunately my visits were doing COVID & I could not have guests. But I think they are allowing +1 now. My ultrasound scans here were much better than the downtown office. If I had one complaint it would be sometimes they would have me wait in my car 30, 45, and even 60 minutes past my scheduled appointment time! Very frustrating. But overall, my midwife Ann was wonderful. I will miss her!
I wrote a very detailed 1 star review regarding my experience a few weeks ago but it was removed and replaced with several more recent 5 star reviews. Oddly enough, when I took the time to write my original review I was surpirsed to see this place so highly rated, but now I understand why. Because it’s not legitimate. So I am going to try this again and soften it down as to not violate community guidelines:I was seen by Erin, PA at the Jefferson location and I found her to be very unkind and rushed. She did not take time to introduce herself or her student, she did not explain the procedure (IUD insertion), how it was going to work, what she was going to do, what to expect, or possible side effects. When I asked about anything I could be given for pain she laughed at me. This was an extremely painful procedure. Not only was Erin unkind and made me feel unsafe; the IUD was not inserted correctly the first time, so I had to go through this pain twice. Per Erin this was my fault for not sitting still, but I wasnt given any instructions prior to the procedure so how was I to know that? I tried to voice my concerns regarding how my last IUD got dislodged and what I could do to prevent that from happening again. She essentially just didnt believe me and just said to come back in 6 weeks and then walked out the door. Not very helpful. My mom dropped me off and picked me up and she said I was in and out of there in 17 minutes, which is efficient, but was upsetting to feel a medical procdudre be so rushed.
My wife and I had a miscarriage at 10 weeks, but didnt find out until an ultrasound at 13 weeks. After a horrible weekend of waiting and trying to decide what the next step was for us, my wife decided she wanted to have a dnc as her body was not taking the natural course three weeks later. We were advised we had to have a consultation as a new patient and “options counseling” for a third time. We had the appointment set up within 2 hours and made our way to the clinic. When we arrived they advised us that they would not allow more than one guest and my 1 year old son counted. So my son and I would not be able to go back with my sobbing wife to comfort her during this sad and difficult time for our family. I attempted to plea with the nurses before getting upset and was told that “Covid concerns” were why there was a guest restrictuon. I also explained that no one had told us prior to our appointment that we would not be able to bring in my son, I’m vaccinated, and not showing any symptoms. They were completely unapologetic and insensitive to something that should be taken sensitively. So stupid, horrible experience. Doubt this deters anyone from choosing this clinic, but at least I can say my piece.
Dr. Rauch was very patient. Kind and answered all my questions and concerns. She was professional and knowledgeable .
I had a wonderful experience with this office during my pregnancy. All my dr appointments went smooth had no issues. Was seen in a timely manner for all appointments. And even when I had an emergency appointment, I was seen by different medical personnel than my usual . I was in out and on my way. Had a beautiful baby boy. Thank you to all your staff that helped me with my pregnancy and any concerns all you hard work was appreciated!
I really felt that both the medical assistant and Dr. Chong listened to me and my concerns. They showed genuine interest in what I had to say and offered helpful suggestions. They even managed to connect me with a primary care doctor appointment fairly rapidly. I had been trying to do this with other providers, and had no luck. But before I left their office, I had a firm appointment. They truly show care and concern for womens health.
Two stars are purely going to Rebecca Leeman. Sweetest doctor I have dealt with and she made me feel relaxed. If I could give the rest of the staff, specifically the front desk staff a rating, it would be in the negatives. Horrible communication and none of them are on the same page. I have never had to experience people that were that rude.
Dr. Conners and Leti are amazing! Professional and knowledgeable. Dr. Knight delivered my first child and was also amazing! I’d Highly recommend for these two Doctors.Cons-The front staff could use some work and scheduling is always booked out.
I sent a review on my providers before, Heather Veitch and Samantha, who are amazing! I just wanted to give a shout out to Donnica, the triage nurse (hopefully I somewhat spelled her name right). I had to return for some labs and she was so helpful and sweet on the phone. She even followed up with me the next day to make sure the orders got through to the lab. As someone with a healthcare background, I really appreciate the patience, kindness, and follow up that was extended to me this week by Donnica. Thank you!!
Over the years I’ve loved being a patient at Women’s Specialists because their team of OB/Gyn’s and midwives have been extremely attentive from my pre-natal care of my 3rd child through to delivery as well as my annual exams. They are so personable and listened to all my concerns and didn’t make my appointments feel rushed at all. I am happy to recommend them to all my friends and family!
Ive been going here for years. Dr. Knight is the best.
Nice office Polite front desk, little wait. Nurse midwife I saw was very good- personal, interested, asked questions and didnt seem overly rushed. I will use them again!
Dr knight and Petra are awesome been going for years and it’s always pleasant and she addresses all my issues.
I do feel fortunate to have found Dr. Moya! She has handled every question and concern that I have with so much grace, patience, respect and knowledge. Ive recommended her to my family, friends, and even co-workers.
My visit to Dr. Steven Gough and his staff was perfect (as I have witnessed for 25+ years). Everyone is always friendly and caring and I never feel I am rushed out. The Drs. and staff at Womens Specialists have always been professional and caring and feel I get the best care possible each time I come.
The staff us very friendly. I never felt like I was not an important patient. They always greet me by name.
Absolutely amazing experience. I cannot express how wonderful the staff all are. Theyre trauma and LGBTQ+ informed. They were so respectful and so understanding of me, my history, my gender and how easily I am overstimulated and stressed out due to my other disabilities. Theyre fantastic and if youve got really bad anxiety about going to the gyno for any reason these are the lovely folks you want. They will help.
I have been going to Womens Specialist for 23 years. My doctor for all those years had retired, so I needed to find a new one. After reading many reviews I decided to try Dr. Moya. I am so thankful I picked her! She is a wonderful doctor, very approachable and I felt extremely comfortable with her. She was attentive to my concerns and put me at ease with them. Knew some of my medical history which always is a good thing for first impressions. Plus this location is so much better than going to Pres downtown. Win, win, all the way around!
Dr. Gough is an excellent doctor. As first time parents, there were a lot of things we didn’t know to expect and Dr. Gough is an incredible, caring, knowledgeable, attentive provider. He is exactly the type of provider any mom to be would want. Thank you for your kindness, Dr. Gough!
I just had a appointment with Dr Moya She and her nurse were great Dr Moya answered every question I had And I didnt feel rushed she took her time with me And the front desk was also great Thank you all Take Care
This was my first visit to Womens Specialists of New Mexico. My appointment was with Dr Connor who was amazing very thorough and answered all of my questions and concerns. I am doing a second review of the location and changing from 3 stars to 5 stars. I had an issue with my prescriptions but upon contacting the office Kathy was absolutely amazing. She took care of the issue and contacted my provider. This was excellent service and definitely had me come back review the practice.
Staff professional, courteous, and polite, but check in was not good, but no fault of staff. So made my appt 30 minutes later..DR was very skilled..and great bedside manner.. thank you..LJL
At Womens Specialist of NM, I felt taken care of as a whole person throughout my pregnancy, labor and delivery, and post partum experience. I love all the midwives and I highly recommend!
I love this clinic. I had two wonderful OBs help bring my babies into the world. Specifically, Dr. Obenauf is very size-inclusive and compassionate. I love every professional Ive interacted with there.
Had a very good experience with WSNM. Every staff member, including receptionists, MA & physician were polite, cheerful, & worked to make a potentially uncomfortable situation comfortable. Dr. Nelson explained everything she was going to do beforehand & thoughout the visit. All concerns were addressed fully.
An excellent practice for womens health. The facility is bright and cheery. The staff is upbeat, polite, and helpful. Dr. Okun listened to my concerns and addressed them clearly and completely.
Doctor okum was thorough and took time to listen.
I had my first visit to establish care yesterday. This was my first visit ever…last ever. No vitals were taken, no mention of lab work, the MA asked me questions about health history, then the provider came in and quickly listened to my lungs, completed a breast exam(said I would need a mammogram in ten years…I’m 38, so I need one in two years), then said we were going to “update my pap”, asked if I needed refills(I’m not on any medications, including birth control and that wasn’t addressed) and then quickly mentioned a small finding and said if it was nothing I wouldn’t hear from her, if it was, I would her from her in about a week. This was very quick, even for a follow up, which it was not. No health history or questions were asked(or reviewed) by the provider. Much improvement is needed in bedside manner.
As a first time patient I found the check-in process efficient. The review of my medical history was thorough and the doctor was attentive, responsive and more than competent.
WSNM is responsive, professional, caring, and just terrific. The front office team is friendly and efficient, and my physician listens and understands how to help me stay well. I am very pleased with the practice. I definitely recommend WSNM to other women.
I had the best experience with Womens Specialists for my prenatal and postpartum care. All of the staff was friendly and professional. Dr. Knight was very thorough with my care and delivery (high risk pregnancy). She answered all my questions and made me feel comfortable with all of the medical decisions we were making. I have confidence in the information and advice I get from Dr. Knight. I would definitely recommend Womens Specialists of NM.
Dr. Okun has been my doctor for 4 years. She’s thorough, listens to my concerns and educates me about my options, and I trust her recommendations. She’s the best gynecologist I’ve ever worked with and highly recommend her.
I’ve had two visits to WSNM. One was the Jefferson location. My most recent was the downtown location. Both times I felt very dismissed by the provider. My first visit was about 2 years ago for a check up and fertility screening. The provider dismissed most of my concerns. Then told me I’m overweight according to my BMI and recommended Weight Watchers. Yaaawwwwn… can we please stop using the BMI as a way to diagnose overweight people AND not suggest ridiculous diets?! They also push their weight loss “spa” and after filling out my intake form online there was a weight loss medication pop-up ad. So enraging. WSNM— please stop targeting women with weight loss meds, diets, and fat bias.My next visit, I presented with a small lump in my armpit. The provider mocked how small it is, wrote up a lab referral, and sent me on my way. Totally dismissed. Before she came in I heard the employees outside the room saying “the last people always need the most. Just watch! Every time!” which to me just felt like everyone is ready to go home and the last patients of the day are a hinderance to them.Also.. the nurse that took my vitals and gathered information referred to my abortion as a “baby” and referred to my full term pregnancy as “living babies”. She needs to be trained on how to refer to pregnancies before triggering someone suffering from a greater loss than me. She kept asking about my third “baby” and I was confused… because the pregnancy was aborted… I was shocked and offended.
I am currently a patient here. My Doctor is Doctor Knight and I think she is absolutely great!!! She is very helpful and very knowledgeable. If she doesnt know the answer she does what it takes to look into the question to help. She is very professional and still has a great sense of humor. She is very nice and sweet and is just all around great!!! I would recommend her to anybody looking for a great doctor!! I love the staff there as well. The ladies in the front desk are very nice and helpful. There was only one lady there that was a bit rude but short but I no longer see her there. Everyone there are really nice and caring.
Dr. Chong is awesome! So knowledgeable, professional and kind. The staff at the front desk are always friendly.
Ladies be warned most of these Doctors are contracted outside by others agencys. All medical malpractices and so forth are kept secret and I promise you they have a lot of medical malpractices here. Ive had two miscarriages after having healthy children prior to coming here. They have no compassion or understanding of feelings there attentiveness to patients are unbelievable. Be very careful!!!!
My experiences with Womens Specialists have been excellent. They are all friendly and pleasant to talk to. I feel comfortable everytime I go to any of their locations. My appointments have been on time every time. I dont feel rushed or have to sit and wait.
I have been seeing Dr. Valerie Contreras since my second pregnancy 5 years ago. I never had a problem until this year. In January I came in for my usual annual and pap. I didnt hear anything back so I assumed what Contreras had always said, no news is good news. I then saw her 4 other times throughout this past year. She had changed my birth control a few times in an attempt to control symptoms from a condition I have. In November my symptoms got worse and I ended up in the ER. I called to make an appointment with Contreras and was told she wouldnt be able to see me anytime soon, so I opted to see another provider so I could be seen immediately. I had a appointment with Dr. Jain. She was great but as we were talking about my options she tells me they never recieved my biopsy results. When I told her I didnt know what she was talking about she informed me that my Pap from January came back abnormal and that I have been positive for HPV for almost a year without any screening or treatment. Dr Jain got me scheduled for the biopsy immediately. I have not so much as recieved an apology from Contreras or her staff. The only thing Ive gotten is Dr Jain told me that Contreras said it was on her staff because she put the order in for the biopsy but they never called me. Even though Contreras saw me numerous times and never mentioned it to me. I am now having to deal with the very real possibility of cancer and additional screening for 20 years after I recieve a hysterectomy.
The Jefferson location is absolutely amazing. The staff is always very helpful and friendly. I always get seen right away and Dr. Okun is absolutely the best. She takes time to listen to me and talk to me. When I was pregnant I felt like I was definitely in the best hands. I always recommend this location to other people.
I have lived in Santa Fe for 20 years and my GYN retired a year ago. For over a year no GYN would accept me as a new patient in SF. A large clinic even hung up on me, did not return call when I tried to request an appointment. I was immediately accepted by WSNM. Absolutely delighted by the friendly, efficient staff. No chaos or grouchy unhappy providers here. I received excellent care and will return to ABQ for quality GYN care in the future.Grateful for your services!
1 star- my provider was okay. The rest of the staff are so rude and condescending. Too busy clucking their tongues gossiping and cleaning under their long, gross nails to actually help you. There are way too many signs up front. I wouldnt trust these folks with a goldfish much less my pregnancy.
I had such a pleasant first experience here from the front desk all the way to the care I received. This is my first pregnancy so I was really nervous when trying to find the right place to choose for care but this place had no problem making me feel comfortable! They even have a small lab to get blood drawn and tested making everything very convenient which was also a positive experience as well.
2019: I have been thing to Womens Specialists for a few years now and while I did have some problems initially with one doctor I had, I was able to request a new one without issue - so while the initial care wasnt right for me, it was nice to be able to switch doctors to find a better fit. Where they really shine was with my care throughout my first pregnancy. My midwife, Rebecca Leeman, is absolutely incredible. Despite having what I know is a very hectic schedule, I never felt rushed and she always took the time to listen to any questions or concerns. She also went the extra mile to find answers if she couldnt answer right away. I also never had much of an issue with scheduling and theyre usually very punctual too. Overall, very happy with my care!2020 Update: Continue to really love this practice. I have a new doctor now, Dr. Connors, and couldnt be more pleased. Attentive, knowledgeable, and even a great sense of humor! So important (and underrated!) to connect with your provider and Im just so glad to report that I constantly receive great care from Womens Specialists.Forgot to mention previously that they also offer extras like Mommy Monday (at no cost!) that is SO INCREDIBLE! Im sure its a little strange with COVID, but I still would HIGHLY recommend especially for new moms. Mommy Monday is a sanity saver and so helpful.
Always a pleasure to visit Womans Specialists. Great experience from start to finish with the wonderful woman who work there. I always feel welcome & comfortable with a very thorough visit.Love, love Dr. Liz Obenauf!
The staff was courteous and friendly. The doctor explain things so I could understand the wait time was not very long, and it was just a good experience. I would recommend it to my friends and family.
Patient, accomodating staff and the doctors made me feel comfortable throughout my exam. I felt safe enough to ask questions and I felt like I received honest answers.
From the moment I made an appointment until the moment I walked out the door I felt welcomed. I saw Dr. Chouinard today for a follow up to an ER visit. I got the worst news ever but she made me feel comforted and put my mind at ease. Having a dr who cared and showed sympathy for my loss made me feel so much better. Everybody at that office was kind. Dr. Chouinard, if you’re reading this, thank you for allowing me to cry and not rush me out the door. I appreciate you for showing compassion.
I love this office! The staff is always friendly. I never wait long either in the waiting room or for the Dr after the initial questions/vitals are taken. All of my questions and concerns are addressed. I feel I can speak open and honestly and get the same courtesy and honesty in answers. Always comfortable.
The staff was very friendly and responsive. All of my questions were answered thoroughly. I didn’t have to wait long at all for the doctor, which was great! I saw Dr. Baca, who was extremely helpful and made me feel very comfortable.
I have been seeing Dr. Gough for a few years now at the Jefferson location, he has delivered 3 of my babies. The facility as a whole is amazing, clean and staff is so nice! Dr. Gough is an exceptional doctor and I still feel like that’s an understatement. You won’t be disappointed with WSNM at any location.
Ive been going to WSNM for years and have always had a good experience with them. My PCP Jana Welder is amazing. She is very kind and makes me feel like she actually cares about me. I have developed a slew of health problems that are reversible and manageable and she gave me hope that I could feel better and get my life back. I trust her advice wholeheartedly.
I have been a patient of Dr. Gough for many years and I have to say he is an Amazing person and Dr. He listens to your concerns and finds solutions or will talk to you about them without you feeling rushed. I recommend him to anyone that wants a great doctor with a caring heart…
The office runs very efficiently and Dr Chong listened to all my concerns even when I rambled sometimes. I was given a lot of information and I feel comfortable changing my medications. I also trust Dr Chong to take care of me through this transition of life.
Such a professional office. I love Dr. Connor and the entire staff. They always take the time to make sure I understand the information they give, and pay such attention to detail.
The staff is very friendly. I appreciated getting to see the doctor at my appointed time. Dr. Gough took the time to answer all my questions and concerns completely. I would highly recommend Womans Specialists of New Mexico!
I honestly don’t care for ABQ and would rather not travel there but I won’t go anywhere else because of the care I’ve always gotten from Dr Moya and whoever her assistant may be. I very much appreciate them and they are awesome!
I do not recommend them for pregnancy- especially for your first one. The midwife would spend 10-15 rushed minutes with me and seemed to dismiss my concerns. I wouldnt hear back when messaging or calling with concerns. I ended up switching elsewhere later in my 2nd trimester and I am so glad I did because it is a completely different and awesome experience. I had no problems with regular gynecological needs (pre-pregnancy) and they were responsive/helpful with everything. Although Id rate a 5 for regular gynecological exams, my overall rating withered down to a 2 due to my experience while pregnant. Pregnancy is a nerve-wracking and exciting time for a woman! We need all the support/care/responsiveness we can get.
Went in for blood work at the Tricore inside of the women’s specialist and NORA GONZALES was the employee who drew blood. She was extremely rude, unprofessional, and poked my arm extremely hard after after she drew blood and told me to put pressure on the area. She had no right to touch me like that. I have never had an experience like that while getting blood drawn. She should not be working with people better yet drawing their blood if she’s going to treat people that way. It’s clear she doesn’t like her job. What a disgrace.
Dr. Orkun is incredible, she answers questions and makes you feel cared for. Staff there, from the minute one walks in is warm and friendly, ready to help.
I have been a patient at Womens Specialists for years. When my doctor retired, I was nervous to look for another, but with so many doctors to choose from, I easily found the right doctor for me. Dr. Nelson is easy to work with, she creates an environment that is stress free. I have never been more open with a doctor, but its easy with her.
It is a pleasure to be a patient of Dr. Okun. She is professional, intelligent, thorough, takes the time to address concerns and goes above and beyond with each visit. I always feel confident and grateful that she is managing my Gyn care.
Dr. Knight is wonderful with her patients and makes me feel so heard and comfortable during my visits.
Dr. Connors has been my Dr for almost 10 years. Hes taken care of me through my pregnancies, helped me get pregnant, and is so thorough hes been able to detect issues early. The front desk has been amazing during this pandemic. Its been kind of depressing being pregnant and my spouse cant come, but the ladies up front are always so happy and welcoming. Being able to be in one office for an Ultrasound, doing my labs, and seeing my Dr all back to back has been awesome as I dont really want to keep going to multiple offices.
Even though it was a busy office, everyone from checkin to midwife to the girl checking me out, were all very friendly. I did not feel rushed and my concerns were listened to making it my visit very positive. Loved being a patient of Stephanie Levys.
I transferred my OB care to Womens Specialist after having a horrible experience with my first OB. I heard wonderful things about Dr. Knight so made the switch. She was wonderful! She was kind, empathetic, down to earth and seemed to truly care. I have a high-risk twin pregnancy and she made me feel very comfortable and put my mind at ease! I am very thankful and happy that I made the switch to Womens Specialist to continue my care with Dr. Knight!
Its hard to Express how much I LOVE WSNM. Ive been going here for at least 10 years and Ive never had a bad experience. Yes, sometimes you have to wait to get in with certain doctors but its worth the wait. The patient portal is AMAZING. They respond to messages (usually) the same day. Jeanne Phillips is my favorite doctor. I have seen a few different doctors because I ask for first available appointments (youll generally get in sooner if you ask that) and Ive never had a bad experience with the doctors or their great nurses. Id recommend WSNM to everyone.
Ive been going to womens specialist since 2016 and have delivered 4 healty babies and had very good care. Dr Connors is the best and listens and takes things seriously. My midwife Elizabeth Withnal saved my life with my last two pregnancies because she listened to me and payed attention to my body.Dr Okun was terrible! I saw her once after my c-section because something was wrong and all she could do was worry with pushing her computer around on a cart and said I was just fine. One week later I was admitted to the hospital with postpartum pre eclampsia and was going into congestive heart failure! I will be eternally grateful for my midwife who took one look at me and sent me to the ER and to Dr Connors who worked patiently with me over the next few months until I was able to be medication free once again!
I was a able to get a fairly quick appointment. I saw Sara Evans. She was very kind, professional and knowledgeable. I didnt have much of a wait once I got there. I would definitely recommend.
I was seen here for my entire pregnancy and always had a difficult time getting a hold of someone to answer any questions regarding my concerns and questions about my pregnancy and postpartum. My provider was supposed to visit me in the recovery room and after having complications in the hospital she was never to be found. I am now 6 weeks postpartum and barely getting the needed medication for on going mastitis and yeast infection in my breasts that I have continuously been letting them know about. It took for me to make an appt with several providers there to get the medication I needed. I was begging for their help. I loved womens specialist but their communication amongst them is awful and I never felt like I was being take seriously. Will not be returning to this clinic for my following pregnancies, I strongly wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.
Im obsessed with this place... seriously. Dr. Okun, Jana Welder, their MAs, and the rest of the staff are amazing. I have never felt rushed by either doctor and feel like I have a real relationship with each other. Dont be dissuaded by any poor reviews--this place has excellent care for its patients! Would highly recommend.
Edit: The scheduling supervisor, Leanne, reached out and was very kind and polite when informing there was a misunderstanding with the newer receptionist I spoke with. I appreciate how proactive she was with resolving this issue and she was very helpful in getting me in to see my practitioner.I had an absolutely wonderful experience with my provider last year, I even raved to my husband after about how well she listened and helped tailor a plan to treat endo pain, but I wont be returning. I called to schedule an appointment with the same provider and the receptionist said they would not see me since my annual was less than a year ago. My husband and I are thinking about trying to get pregnant soon and I wanted to be prepared, I explained to the receptionist that I wanted to speak to my doctor about these things but she still said they would not see me until after May. I said Ok to which the receptionist said nothing else and hung up on me. If I want to see my doctor, and my insurance has cleared it, I feel I am well within my rights to see my doctor as long as there is availability.
