I chose SCRC because they undeniably have the best lab in California (their embryologist and geneticists are also incredible). However it’s Tracy, from Danzers team (and also a floating nurse) who shaped my experience at SCRC - she is literally an angel. I was close to calling it quits with this clinic due to some mix ups in my bloodwork and RX schedule, but Tracy turned the experience around for me and truly made me feel like a human versus just another number. I’m so grateful for her support, advice and genuine care.
Leaving a review for the team at SCRC feels like trying to capture the vastness of the universe in a single photograph. There simply arent enough words to express the depth of our gratitude...Miracles really do happen at SCRC!From the moment we walked through their doors, we were met with professionalism, attentiveness, and kindness that transcended our expectations. Every step of the way, they shared the right information at the right time, guiding us through the process with a level of care that eased any worries or stresses we had.Their expertise made what could have been a daunting journey feel surprisingly smooth. Thanks to their unwavering support, we now have a beautiful baby in our arms, a testament to their dedication and skill. We must also extend our heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Surrey and his team, including Ari, the VIP nurse, and her assistant Tanya. Their incredible dedication and warmth went above and beyond to support us throughout the entire process and even after. Their compassionate care was a beacon of light during what could have been a challenging time.To anyone considering their services, we wholeheartedly recommend this clinic. Theyre not just experts in their field; theyre compassionate allies on the path to parenthood.Thank you from the bottom of our hearts 🙏
I have been a patient of Dr Alexander’s for several years. I have not had a bad experience until now. I needed a refill of my meds. I called to make an appointment for the first available slot, was told I would receive email confirmation and never received anything. Left message with Drs clinical team and never received a response. Called again two days later, was told the first available appointment was two months away. For a specialist I know that’s not unheard of, however many Drs will give you a refill of your meds at least until your appointment once you’re on the schedule. (I’m in the medical field). Dr Alexander’s office did not extend me this courtesy. Once again, after this second phone call I never received any confirmation email for the appointment in June. I should have made the appointment sooner, but honestly life happens and I’ve had a lot going on. Thankfully I was able to find another provider the same day that could see me this week. Otherwise, I would have had to go two months without my medications and suffered an intense mood crash among other things. It seems I had to find another provider in order to get my meds and actually be able to make an appointment.Update: I just received a message from the medical assistant, “following up” on an consultation that I did not have.
My husband and I struggled with infertility for over 8 years before we finally decided to see a reproductive specialist. SCRC exceeded all of our expectations. Dr. Alexander and her team helped us create a miracle. Im currently holding my 2 month old son, something I didnt think would ever happen for me. Dr. Alexander communicated with us quickly and took the time to make us feel like she truly cared about our situation. The lab staff was amazing and I enjoyed speaking with them at each of my visits. It was really a wonderful experience and we will definitely be utilizing them to help us continue to grow our family.
Olivia and Maria and all of Dr. Surreys team are exceptional. They are kind and great and what they do. Fertility treatments require so much dedication and patience and TIME and money. You want the best team. That is Dr. Surreys team. If its possible, they will be sure to manifest that possibility!!
Absolutely the most caring, professional, and educated staff! I have to give a super special shout out to Desta, who runs the lab. He goes out of his way to be there and help his patients. SCRC is so lucky to have you! Also, to Dr. Mark Surreys team (Olivia, Maria, Laura, etc) - no words can describe how amazing you guys are! You guys are on top of your game with each patient, no matter how complex a patients case is.Lastly, to all the doctors on site- each one of you are AMAZING in your own way. No matter which doctor you go with, you cannot go wrong!I vouch for SCRC if you want the best service and experience! Come here if you want to get exceptional results!
Mark Surrey, SCRC, and ART misrepresented to me for 5 years I believe and mislead me into spending an unreasonable $100,000.00 without any of the discussed results. Do not waste your time and money with this facility. They abuse a womens most vulnerable state to make money in my opinion. I am happy to share my personal story with you to save you the heartache, anguish and financial loss.
This was the best decision I ever made in my life. We didn’t even try to conceive naturally. I’m 34 years old and I wanted an effective, controlled pregnancy where I would have answers as early as possible. That’s exactly what I got with SCRC. Dr. Surrey was recommended to me by a friend whose IVF worked on the first try and mine was no different. Dr. Surrey has one of the highest success rates in the country. He’s a no nonsense doctor who is all about results. His nursing staff strikes the perfect combination of professionalism and compassion and treated us like family. Absolutely 100% recommend to anybody who wants a short easy path to a successful pregnancy.
I was referred to Dr. Akopians by my OB after my husband and I were told the best shot at us having a baby was to do IVF. From our first consultation with Dr. Akopians to our very last appointment, she and her team at SCRC had been nothing short of incredible during the ups and downs of our treatment. Everyone my husband and I worked with at SCRC including the receptionists, ultrasound techs, and especially the nurses were very compassionate, patient and thorough with every step of the process. Both Dr. Akopians and her amazing nurse, Julia, were always very clear with their directions and on top of what needed to get done, and were always available to answer any questions I had (there were many and I never felt bad asking them, they were that nice about it)! Julia, especially was always so kind, knowledgeable and supportive during my months of treatment.Dr. Akopians and Julia charted a treatment plan for me to maximize my chances for a positive outcome, and made the best decisions for the process. This included doing the transfer prep twice as I didnt look quite ready the first time and rather than rushing ahead, they decided to take a step back and try a different protocol, which resulted in a successful transfer! We welcomed our baby girl in April, and Im so thankful to the entire team at SCRC for their kindness and support during our fertility journey.
My husband and I were patients at SCRC with Dr. Surrey and I would not recommend him or the clinic as they are disorganized and poor communicators. Here are the highlights:· My husband and I transferred to SCRC from another clinic. The nurse we initially worked with said that we had to complete additional labs, but she provided my husband the incorrect lab code, not once, not twice, but three times. My husband had to do the leg work to figure out the lab code was incorrect and to get the right one.· We had to email repeatedly to get an update on next steps, results, lab orders, etc. When we had to reach out to other personnel at the clinic to get information on next steps, I received an email saying that for an additional fee, a concierge would email me immediately to provide results and instructions. I replied that for a clinic with such national prominence, communication should be expected, and patients should not have to pay additional fees for such basic care.· Dr. Surrey never kept scheduled calls and rarely followed up. I would ask the nurse to schedule a call with Dr. Surrey and on more than one occasion he wouldn’t call me on the scheduled day/time. I would have to follow up with his team to ask why he didn’t call. Our last transfer failed and while the nurse confirmed this and instructed to go off the meds, I never heard from Dr. Surrey. I expected that he would call to talk through what might have gone wrong and to recommend what to do next.· They know they have these problems as someone from the management team called me to get feedback after I told the clinic we were leaving. After I told him my experience, he said that their goals for this year are to improve communication with patients and that Dr. Surrey needs to work on his bedside manner. He also offered that I could have a second opinion with another doctor at the clinic and that they would waive my embryo storage fees if I agreed to do this. My husband and I have one embryo left, so I told him that we would pass and move on to another clinic with our embryo. The above are just the main points of the struggle we had with SCRC. There might be good doctors there; however, if you want peace of mind and competent care, don’t use Dr. Surrey or this clinic.
After 3.5 years of IVF in Australia and what seemed like endless cycles that proved unsuccessful I was at a loss. When I was introduced to Dr Ghadir (SCRC Beverly Hills) I had an instant feeling that I was finally with the right Dr and clinic. In 2019 at age 45 Dr Ghadir suggested it was time to try Egg Donation so we engaged in the ED program which yielded wonderful results!!When our first embryo transfer was not successful Dr Ghadir knew exactly what testing needed to be done and in 2020 in the midst of the pandemic we flew back to LA from Australia and our 2nd embryo transfer was a huge SUCCESS!!To finally be pregnant after over 4 years of heartache was beyond our wildest dreams. Now at 49 we are back once again to try for our 2nd baby.Forever grateful to the most amazing Dr Ghadir & his wonderful team of nurses and staff at SCRC - Beverly HillsWe are so blessed 🩷🩵🙏🏽
Hands down the best fertility clinic in California!! I had the best experience here: the nurses are phenomenal, friendly and patient. I had the honor of working with Dr. Danzer who is a miracle worker! He is so patient, so calm, extremely knowledgeable and really takes pride in building a personal relationship with his patients. My husband and I are now 3 months pregnant and we owe it all to SCRC! I can’t imagine having gone anywhere else.
After spending 3 years undergoing unsuccessful fertility treatments at UCLA, I researched the highest live birth rates in Southern California fertility clinics, and thats how I found Southern California Reproductive Center. I spent another six months following a couple of their doctors on Instagram, and tuning into their free live webinars, and I soon realized I had found my clinic. From the moment I walked into SCRC, the energy just felt different. I no longer felt like I was just another number. Id often wait 1-2 hours at UCLA to be seen. But at SCRC, I was treated respectfully, like a human being. The front staff were extremely welcoming. I never waited more than 10 minutes to be seen for any treatment. The only surprise I had was that I didnt realize I wouldnt actually meet my Reproductive Endocrinologist until the third or fourth appt -- but that was standard -- all of the initial bloodwork and ultrasounds were done by technicians or medical assistants. However, once the data came in, we had our first appt with Dr. Ghadir.I absolutely LOVED Dr. Ghadir. I chose him based on his Instagram account, to be honest. He seemed so personable, while remaining realistic, but still very sensitive. The fact that he and his wife had gone through IVF themselves really sealed the deal for me. He was kind, empathetic, and one of my biggest cheerleaders. By the end of our 9 month journey, he and his team felt like family.Speaking of which... I have NEVER felt more support by a clinical team!!! Angela and Nareh were my saving grace. IVF is one of the hardest challenges Ive ever faced. And those two angels were there for me EVERY step of the way!!! They answered every single question (big or small), within hours of sending a message. If I had something that was urgent, theyd immediately call me to ease my worry. Im an A-type, Virgo, Producer... so I worry about EVERY DETAIL. Its part of my job. They made sure to give me all the details, and then when I still didnt understand the details (again, IVF is super overwhelming), they would re-answer my question time and time again. Their patience was unbelievable. Im forever grateful for these two.I also LOVED the nurses who took my bloodwork. They were both so supportive. Every time I saw them, they were rooting for me. Such a fresh of breath air from your average LabCorp technician!!If youve spend months researching a clinic, look no further. Their CDC rates are high. Their wait times are minimal. Their bedside manner is incredible. Theyre honest, and just want the best for you. Theyre everything you need in a fertility clinic. We chose every add-on treatment possible to increase our chances of a successful pregnancy -- Zymot Chip, ICSI, Embryoscope, ERA Mock Cycle, PGT-A genetic testing, etc. It wasnt cheap, as I paid out of pocket (my employer insurance didnt cover anything, unfortunately). But I can happily report... it worked!! **Note: EVERY womans body is different. I have unexplained infertility, but on paper, everything works. Im 38 years old, and I retrieved 20 eggs total. 13 Matured. 8 made it to embryos, and then 4 genetically normal embryos. I am currently 17 weeks pregnant :)While the price tag was high (as are all IVF clinics)... IT WORKED. And there isnt a day that goes by that I regret spending the money to start our little family. Money will come and go. But having the incredible medical help to create a family is priceless.I wish you nothing but success on your fertility journey!!! And I hope you decide to go with SCRC!! xo
Our journey started with clinic only treat you like a number patient. You never get to see the doctor and you never get to through on the phone whenever there is a need. However, We were blessed to have Dr Mark Surrey and his team (especially Olivia our nurse) 1) Dr Surrey never discouraged us with age or timing. 2)He has full confidence with us all the way. 3) He communicated with us on timely manner. Our success with Dr Surrey is 14/14 egg harvest with only 8 days of stimulation (225 gonal f) but our previous experience was 4/10 egg harvest with 10 days stimulation (300 gonal f)After simply comparison we are glad traveling all the way from Toronto to Los angles for this procedureWe are thankful and grateful to Dr Surrey, Olivia and rest of his team
I was referred to Dr. Surrey at SCRC by my OBGYN, Dr. Katz. The idea of having to resort to IVF wasn’t one that settled well with me. When my husband and I went to our initial consultation with Dr. Surrey, we were already well versed on the process because they sent us so many videos and material to review prior to the consultation, which was incredibly helpful. Dr. Surrey was so informative, and made us feel like we were in the right hands. When we made the decision to start the process, there were so many people to help with each step. Every time I called, someone was there to answer any questions or concerns I had. The staff, both on the 5th floor and the lab, were so friendly. Every time I had an appointment, I was in and out. They didn’t have me waiting at all. The IVF journey isn’t an easy one, but I remember feeling supported by every staff member at SCRC. I remember feeling very safe - like I was in a good space. The facility itself is beautiful and extremely clean, which was very important to me. The entire team was so responsive, which is a plus when you’re doing daily injections and need help or advice. I remember calling on a Sunday to ask about my medication, and I had someone call me back within 10 minutes. The service you receive at SCRC is beyond amazing. I can’t speak to the other doctors at SCRC, but I was so happy that I was referred to Dr. Surrey. He made me feel at ease. I’m so thankful for both his knowledge and experience as he was able to help my husband and I get pregnant. Highly recommend SCRC and Dr. Surrey. Best doctor, facility and team if you are someone who has to embark on the IVF journey.
I started my fertility journey with SCRC and Dr. Ghadir in May of 2022. After one year of trying to conceive with no success, my gynecologist referred me to Dr. Ghadir for an HSG exam. I remember entering the exam room and feeling very overwhelmed with nerves and emotion. Luckily, Nareh, one of Dr. Ghadirs nurses, was so compassionate and kind and she reassured me that everything would be okay. And when Dr. Ghadir entered the room to do the exam he also comforted me and made me feel so much better by talking me through each step. The whole procedure was something I had been building up in my head as something really scary and it was ultimately a relatively pain free and very simple experience, thanks to Dr. Ghadir. After a few months, we made the decision to move forward with the next step in our fertility journey: IUI. I was not sure what to expect but Dr. Ghadir and the entire SCRC team helped me to remain positive throughout my entire experience. After two unsuccessful IUI cycles, I had one more attempt before we had to consider moving on to IVF. Dr. Ghadir recommended a double IUI for my last cycle and this one resulted in a pregnancy! I extend my deepest gratitude to the entire SCRC team and to Dr. Ghadir and his nursing staff. Nareh and Angela were always patient in answering all of my questions. Its a busy practice so leaving phone messages was the norm but someone always called me back the same day. From the first floor reception staff - including Daisy at the front desk and Maria and Anelle who handled my bloodwork, to the 5th floor staff, especially Crystal - everyone was so nice and always greeted me with a smile.Once pregnant, I was monitored by Dr. Ghadir during weekly appointments until I reached the milestone of 10 weeks and graduated from SCRC. Dr. Ghadir and his entire staff genuinely celebrated our success, and I cannot express enough gratitude for their invaluable guidance during this challenging period of my life. Its difficult to maintain hope, but I trusted the process and, more importantly, I had complete faith in Dr. Ghadirs expertise and knowledge. He has shown me compassion and genuine caring from day one, qualities that are so important when looking for a fertility doctor. I cannot recommend him enough!!!!
Dr. Danzer and Ariel has been very great and supportive with us for our first IVF treatment. The facility was top notch, and their lab was able to provide testing results in a short period of time. Ariel was out main contact at clinic, and she always get back to us very quickly with our questions, and she spent time with us each day to discuss and explain the testing results. We really appreciate their efforts and professionalism, especially with Ariel. We are very happy we chose SCRC for IVF journey.
Anyone going through this process knows it can be challenging in every way possible. Luckily, we were able to go on this journey with Dr. Surrey and his incredible team. No matter what happened, they calmly and efficiently guided us through it. He knew when to recommend an additional procedure, and when to reassure us that everything was going well. Because of this expertise, we were fortunate enough to conceive on our first round of IVF. I am now 26 weeks along, and looking forward to giving birth to our beautiful daughter in July. All of the nurses, especially Olivia, were always available at the drop of a hat to communicate with us and provide us with amazing service. The office can get a little crowded, but I assume thats just because many others are also hoping to get in on the miracles that this group does their best to perform. My husband and I will be forever grateful, and will not hesitate to turn to Dr. Surrey again should we need assistance with our second baby. Update 2020: I am now pregnant with our second child, after another great round with Dr. Surrey. I know every time and person is unique, but I have gone from conviction I could never get pregnant to being fortunate enough to be on my way to another baby. Very grateful.
Coming into this whole IVF journey, we didn’t really know what to expect. While the road was long getting to this point, we are so thankful to have Dr Surrey and his team guiding us along the way. Dr Surrey, Maria and Olivia have always made sure our questions are answered. They have been a pleasure to work with, and their portal makes it easy to ask questions and receive prompt responses. If you’re looking for a kind and knowledgeable team to help navigate you through your own IVF journey, we highly recommend Dr Surrey and his team at SCRC!
I have been working with Dr. A and SCRC for more than a year. By far this is the best practice I’ve ever experienced working with. Dr. A and team are the most compassionate individuals to work with. I look forward to being able to work with them again in the coming years. Thank You SCRC, Dr. A and team!
I am thankful to go on this journey with the help of Dr Danzer and Ariel at SCRC. Dr Danzer was really professional, nice and trustworthy. Ariel (who was my main contact at SCRC) was very sweet, patient and helpful. They make me feel like I am very well taken care of and have nothing to worry about every step of the way. Everyone else I met at SCRC was very helpful and nice too.
DO not come here. I decided to use SCRC based on referrals from a few friends and because I was rushing to freeze my eggs due to a cancer diagnosis and needing to start chemo on Nov 29. From the moment I stepped foot into this clinic, I was mistreated and there was never any extra care or urgency given for my case. The staff was extremely rude and dismissive as well as the nurses and Dr. Ghadir never fully walked me through the entire process of what freezing your eggs looks like. I had to rely on friends to give me advice and tell me the process. At one point I had to call another fertility clinic to get advice on how to proceed with insurance because SCRC kept pushing large bills on me although I explained to them that the SB600 bill required my insurance to cover expenses. I always had to explain my situation to the same people over and over again and they did not seem to care. The most frustrating part was that from the beginning I stressed that I had to be completely done with egg freezing by Nov 29 which was my chemo start date. Everything depends on your body of course, but my period came 2 days early and because the staff did not rush to get my meds or begin the injections on time, I ended up starting 2 days late. They even said, you might have to retrieve after Nov 29 when there was plenty of time for me to be done prior to this date due to my period arriving early. Doing the egg retrieval after starting chemo would be extremely damaging to my eggs and would have been a complete waste of freezing my eggs, which is why I stressed this date from the beginning. They even said, Well you might have to skip this cycle and do it next month. Like what didnt they understand about me HAVING to be done by Nov 29?! To this day, I am still receiving bills from them and I get a major pit in my stomach every time I have to call because their staff is extremely rude and unhelpful. Please avoid this place and choose another!
I truly would recommend everyone to stay away from this place. They are just lucky to be in central Beverly Hills. I started it with Dr Surrey who has zero communication skills and doesn’t have any compassion, he talks like a Robot but besides that I felt totally miss treated the first round of my IVF. You can never get hold of anyone, they give you the wrong medication on the portal verses what the DR says, you feel like a cattle and no one remembers you. You pay for a private clinic but you get cedars emergency feel. I changed Dr Danzer and the process there was exactly the same, very weird cold phone conversations and they talk as you should understand everything they say but nothing makes sense. I was meant to do a egg retrieval and they never told me that it was for an IUI. Their is no care in you as a person and I truly felt that from everyone. The two Drs I went to are to old to do this and should retire but meanwhile I wasted 2 years of my life here with numerous injections and 3 failed egg retrievals and one failed transfer with a healthy embryo which wasn’t even created by them. I am traumatized now by DRS.
My husband and I began our infertility journey 9 years ago, we were lucky enough to research SCRC and Dr. Surrey and decide to pursue IVF with him. In 2016 we had a successful embryo transfer and welcomed our daughter in 2017. We reached out again in 2020 when we wanted to try to expand our family and had another successful embryo transfer and welcomed our son in 2021. In 2022 we had another successful embryo transfer and are currently expecting our 3rd child later this year. Dr. Surrey and his team are nothing short of a blessing. Not only is he meticulous and diligent in the preparation to have the best possible outcome, but he is supportive and genuine, as is his entire team. We are so very thankful to Dr. Surrey and his team for helping us create our beautiful family!
I had my eggs frozen by Dr. Wertheimer and I had a great experience. She was extremely thorough and made sure my plan was personally tailored to me. I also had a wonderful nurse Kristy who helped me along the way. I felt very cared for!
My partner and I have been working with Dr. Ghadir at SCRC for the past 14 months. In this short amount of time we’ve undergone a variety of treatments and procedures, giving me the opportunity to write a well-rounded and honest review. After dealing with horrible scheduling practices with Kaiser (they scheduled one of my IUI procedures days before ovulation because they were going to be closed for the 4th of July), my partner and I decided to contact Dr. Ghadir at SCRC. He was well recommended by a trusted friend who was recently under his care and was able to conceive through IUI. They now have a beautiful 1 year old baby girl.We began with the initial testing and consultation and once cleared, we began our own IUI procedures. After two failed IUI attempts and because of my age (43 years old), we decided to quickly move on to IVF. Unfortunately our IVF cycle was not a success, resulting in embryos that did not pass genetic testing. Thanks to Dr. Ghadir’s recommendation, encouragement, and my sister’s generosity, we moved on to an IVF donor cycle. We now have 4 genetically normal embryos ready for transfer! We are currently in the process of undergoing a hysteroscopy for polyp removal and a mock cycle before attempting our fist embryo transfer. We’ve worked very hard to get to this stage in our journey and I can honestly say it’s because of Dr. Ghadir and his clinical team at SCRC that we’ve been able to come this far. They are true professionals and experts in their field, guiding us and offering solutions for every obstacle we’ve encountered. We are truly excited to move on to the next phase of our journey and are appreciative of Dr. Ghadir’s thoroughness to ensure we have the best possible outcome. We hope to update this review with good news very soon!
I cannot say enough good things about Southern California Reproductive Center. Dr. Surrey is absolutely wonderful—he is supremely knowledgeable, communicative and thoughtful. I was a difficult case and had some complications associated with my retrieval, and he made sure to personally monitor and check in with me on a daily basis to ensure everything was resolving appropriately. I have never experienced such a high level of care, and I have had many encounters with the medical community. Dr. Surrey is the BEST! In addition, the technology available at the facility is amazing—the on-site laboratory, the embryoscope, PGS testing and even a test to determine my personalized window of implantation. Lastly, Dr. Surrey’s Clinical teams in both Beverly Hills (Olivia, Kaylah, Elizabeth) and in Santa Barbara (Vicki) are so pleasant and responsive around the clock—always more than willing to answer any question. Both my husband and I are convinced we would not be in the position we are in today (recent graduation to my OB) had we not selected Dr. Surrey!
I don’t usually write reviews so believe me when I say this my gratitude and appreciation to both the staff at SCRC and Dr Surrey is huge! I spent one full year in their capable hands and we really seemed to get into a rhythm after 1 IUI, 3 back to back egg retrievals and then a successful embryo transfer! They are also currently babysitting our little female embryo which we plan to transfer next! Dr Surrey was so patient and understanding and answered all of our questions - always! His nurses would sit on the phone answering all of my questions too and calming my fears. IVF is such an emotional roller coaster and having the opportunity to have all your questions answered all of the time is so comforting! We love you all at SCRC and I can’t wait to bring my son into meet you as soon as he’s born💙
I am a patient of Dr. Danzer, who himself is professional, friendly and impeccable. However, the follow-up process will involve many other departments of the SCRC. I have a very poor experience. As a guest of the International Department, I often cannot get in touch with the contact person, or I just pass the blame on each other like a football. A question is often not answered for more than three days. . I hope everyone chooses carefully. Even if the doctor is very professional, you will find that you cant find anyone to connect with you in the follow-up implantation, medication, question answering, etc. You are confused in all the process, and no one is too much with you explain. and you will realize what communication difficulties are。
Sub-par experience for several reasons. This is my experience with the Beverly Hills office.1. Each time I call the main office number no one ever answers the phone. It always goes to voice mail. Whether its the front desk, andrology or any of the other departments, no answer. The people hired to answer the phone dont answer the phone...2. I wasnt able to fill out the patient information online prior to my appointment because the username and password assigned to me for the online portal did not work. I called the office several times for assistance and...no answer. Anyway, on the day of my appointment NO ONE ever asked me about me medical history or had me fill out any paperwork regarding my past medical history. Also, when I met Dr. Danzer at the time of my HSG, he didnt ask me a single question about my history which is important in any new patient encounter. Going into a medial procedure unprepared is dangerous and not the standard of care (more on that experience, below).3. Eventually when I was finally given an appointment for HSG, I was assigned to Dr. Danzer. Seemed like a nice enough person. The issue is I was quite concerned with his hand tremor. I know everyones anatomy is different but I could feel the tremulousness in his hands and the difficulty arising from said tremor. He had a very difficult time inserting the catheter into my cervix. Not to mention, it was extremely painful. If he was experiencing that much difficulty, ultrasound could have been used to assist in placement instead of forcing an instrument blindly and in the incorrect manner. I expressed my discomfort and he continued regardless. I am a board certified physician and surgeon myself and this was EXTREMELY concerning.4. The XR machine used for the HSG was extremely old and the amount of radiation used seemed to be excessive. Not only was the X ray generator close to the patient (me) but the image intensifier was far away which is not in compliance with ALARA.5. My husband also went to the BH center for a semen analysis over a week ago and I have tried to call the office several times to obtain results...but as mentioned before, I cannot get a hold of anyone. The phone rings and goes straight to voice mail. Completely unacceptable. If I had this type of experience as a seasoned medial professional who is accustomed to navigating the complexities of the medical system, I cant even imagine the difficulties one may face who is not in the medical field. For these very reasons, if any fertility treatments are needed, my husband and I will NOT be using SCRC.
Dr. Surrey and his team are absolutely the best in LA. I received excellent care and I successfully conceived my first child. I visited his office weekly for checkups until I was 10 weeks and ready to move on to my regular OBGYN. I adore his nurse Tracey who was always available for all of my concerns and questions. The office is very efficient and effective. I was referred to Dr. Surrey from my regular OBGYN and I am very fortunate to be a patient here. I would highly recommend him to any woman that needs the additional assistance and care. I will certainly be back for baby #2.
Dr. Alexander and her team are amazing. It’s like you have your very best friend or your sister cheering you on your (sometimes very difficult) journey to motherhood! I admit I was a bit overwhelmed by how busy SCRC is, but it’s busy because the doctors get results. And when you’re sitting across from Dr. Alexander, or talking to one of her team members (Nathalie and Valerie are exceptional), you feel like you’re the only patient in the world. They made my greatest dream a reality when I welcomed my precious son into the world! Thank you, Dr. Alexander and Team Alexander!
My fertility story started many years ago but I have two beautiful children today because of Dr. Surrey and his team. I had gone through three unsuccessful IVF treatments in NYC and was referred to Dr. Surrey by a family friend (who happens to be a highly regarded fertility doctor in Philadelphia) when I moved to LA. Dr. Surrey figured out that I needed a hysteroscopy to figure out what was going on and then a treatment to help build up my uterine wall. He approached my case with science and experience. Fertility is a tricky thing and I was a tough case but we got there (twice!) and Im so grateful! His team is extremely supportive and they understand that this is a very emotional time for any couple. I cant tell you how many times I cried while the very patient nurse took my blood and just allowed me to cry. I highly, highly recommend SCRC.
The doctors here are obviously world class and if you ever get to talk to any of the staff, theyre wonderful and polite. But that if is doing some heavy lifting here. Im currently on attempt #26 trying to reach anyone. Leaving messages does nothing; in our nearly one year here, weve never had a single message we left followed up on. If you, like us, get a calendar with contradictory instructions that you need clarifications on, a calendar with medications youre supposed to start taking TODAY, then your only option is to dial the number over and over again, hoping to maybe reach someone. Im on attempt #29 now.
This place is responsible for the death of my daughter! Dr. Ghadir overstimulated my daughter with hormones knowing she had a history of blood clots and she died from a blood clot to the lungs. Prior to her death she complained of pain, I called the clinic complaining of her pain. Dr. Ghadir called my daughter back telling her to take motrin and he ignored the severity of her pain stating “ it will get worse before it gets better “. It never got better, but definitely worst, she died!!Any doctor worth practicing medicine should have told her to go to the nearest emergency room if it gets worse. This doctor’s action of overstimulating ovaries ( risk of blood clots) and telling her to take motrin which also causes blood clots resulted in a ticking time bomb in her body. When I told Dr. Ghadir that my daughter was brain dead, I asked him if she was on blood thinners, he stated he took her off for a couple of days. He knew she had a history of blood clots. I am not a doctor but after my daughter died, I began researching IVF and overstimulating ovaries, I learned the risk was blood clots!!! This doctor should not be allowed to practice. Also, prior to my daughter dying, she stated that the staff was very mean to her, I told her “that they don’t see us like they see other people”. This doctor and his staff did not see her as worthy of competent care. However, I am here to tell them they will be accountable for their actions if it’s the last thing I do as a mother!
Our doctor is amazing and we are very grateful for that. However the communication with the office is extremely difficult and requires tons of follow up (on the level of a full time job) to make sure all paperwork gets done properly on their end. I dont understand why the office is so incompetent, but in reading the other reviews it seems like there is a deep admin problem here. I hope they can solve it.
Dr Ghadir and his staff Maria, Angela and Nariah(sorry spelling is probably wrong) were the absolute best. It is never easy having to learn you need infertility treatment. It is scary thinking about everything you have to go through. They made everything super easy and were extremely organized which helped me stay organized and on top of my shots etc. I am so glad I came to Dr Ghadir for IVF. For such a difficult time in my life, they sure made it a great experience. Thank you, thank you!
I really appreciate how responsive they are on the portal and with voicemail messages. They always contacted me after blood work and ultrasounds to fill me in on details and any questions that I still may have. Dr. Danzer is always very patient and reassuring during this stressful time.
Literally impossible to get your medical records from this place. Ive tried for weeks to get them sent to me and my new fertility clinic. Ive emailed and left several voicemails and Ive been completely ignored.
My spouse and I LOVE ❤️ ❤️❤️ Dr. Chang! She is extremely knowledgeable, informative, and has a very calming demeanor which is necessary when you’re deciding who’s the best fertility doctor for your family. We trust her because of her expertise, experience, and wealth of information. I/We couldn’t be happier. If you’re considering fertility options and are looking for someone who will walk you through everything and make you feel confident about your plan, she is the perfect doctor for you. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Chang and SCRC!!!
The staff at SCRC will always have a special place in my heart. I cannot thank them enough for helping my husband and I on our journey to becoming parents. From the very start, they were always supportive, understanding, and kind. When things werent going our way, their sympathy and reassurance kept my husband and I going. Because of their amazing work, we are now the proud parents of a beautiful little girl.
I was not the most compliant or optimistic patient, but the nurses, lab technicians and Dr. Danzer were so patient with me. They repeated the directions for giving the injections as many times as felt we needed to hear them; they greeted us cheerfully for blood tests and ultrasounds 7:00 am after 7:00 am; they tolerated my meltdowns because they knew (and told us they knew) that going through fertility treatment is stressful; they were calm in communicating good news (I made a LOT of eggs) and bad news (I produced a LOT of fluid, which meant I had to freeze the embryos rather than implanting them when they were fresh). I didnt believe that we would be successful, but Dr. Danzer did. And he was right. But as he warmed me that I should take it easy in the first few weeks of my pregnancy, and advised us to get the CVS test (and then not to get the amniocentesis when the CVS gave us a minor scare), he was both reassuring and realistic about the possibility of something going wrong. Just before our wonderful, healthy daughters first birthday, I took her back to SCRC to visit Dr. Danzer and the nurses. They were delighted to see her and modest in accepting my thanks. And, as I told them, thank you could never do justice to the gratitude and awe that my husband and I feel (and express) every day. SCRC, you do miraculous work.
Could not give it 0 stars but would give it negative 5 if it were possible. Terrible communication, nothing done in a timely manner, Dr surrey spoke to me as though I were a child and laughed during a phone call at my questions not only that but my first time meeting him he stared at my legs and looked me up and down the whole time .. gave me an elbow bump instead of handshake but yet at the time I was leaving patted and squeezed my thigh after what felt like an interrogation on why I was doing what I was doing and what was in it for me. Not only that he answered a phone call and I could hear his phone ringing… he told whoever was on the other end to text him like 4 times before hanging up with them. His staff is extremely unprofessional and provided me travel information 3 days notice when I was promised 5-7 days notice. When told I needed to be there two days before transfer date I was called a liar.. I told them I have emails advising me that the day I was to be there for Covid testing i would not need to worry about this travel date… that was clearly a lie on their part. They sent me an ensign document advising I had received counseling at the time of my medical work up date and I was not. Then when asked why I didn’t sign it at that time I was advised it was “new information” … this clinic that’s supposed to HELP people made me uncomfortable and stressed me out to the point of tears… they are so rude and unprofessional I would not recommend ANYONE GO HERE EVER! Unless you like to be treated like both a child with no choices and cattle… truly the worst medical experience have EVER had. I gave chance after chance and was offered ZERO kindness
I went here and I felt rushed. The Dr didn’t have time to look at my previous exams that I had already uploaded to their system. He told me I needed to do many exams that I had just done, and didn’t give a solution to my problem. He told me I should do all these expensive procedures, including IVI, when my problem was not getting pregnant, it was that I kept miscarrying. I did end up doing an ultrasound, and paid for it the day of. But I’m getting random medical bills from them, and this is 3 years later!I’ve already received two medical bills from this place for the procedure that I’ve already paid for and also for procedures that I’ve never even done.So if you’ve ever come here for anything, make sure you don’t pay any bills for procedures you haven’t done!!! They are all about the money!!!So I went to a different clinic and they explained to me that my problem was immunological and all I needed to do was take prednisone, which is super cheap!!! I ended up getting pregnant with twins spontaneously and having a healthy, full-term pregnancy.
Thank you for Dr. Surrey and Ariel helping me with the egg frozen. Everything was so great with SCRC! Special thanks to Ariel for her patience and taking care of me in the whole process. She is awesome!
My sister died last month under the care of Dr. Ghadir, therefore I am writing on behalf of her. Dr Ghadir ignored her pain and he and staff treated her very rudely. She died 3 days after he performed her egg retrieval.Avoid this man and any facility he works for.
We hired Dr Chang at SCRC to freeze embryos. Very nice doctor, but ultimately did not follow the protocol we had established, which was to do ICSI on my eggs. Instead, sperm was freely mixed with eggs in a last minute decision, which was a reversal of a previously agreed course of action. As a result, all 6 eggs did not fertilize correctly and were ultimately discarded. This is frustrating, as all the clinics we have spoken to since then recommend ICSI on older eggs like mine (and our Urologist, whom she had referred us too, had recommended it). Not only did we waste over twelve thousands dollars, but we will never know how the eggs would have reacted if properly fertilized. I take no pleasure in writing this review, but saying that Dr Chang did not come through for us on is an understatement. She was either too busy to look at our file correctly, or was simply willing to take an un-calculated risk. We were the only losers in this equation.
SCRC was the continued treatment my son needed. You helped save my sons life. I could never thank you enough. I have reached out to you even after his discharge & my questions were always answered with kindness. If there is anything bigger than Thank You I would give it to each of you!
Dr. Hal Danzer is like a gentle friend who wants to help. He is very interactive, caring, informative, thorough, and thoughtful. I appreciated his expertise as much as his personal connection with me and my husband. Doctor visits can be anxiety-provoking, but Dr. Danzer had us disarmed and comfortable within minutes. I learned a great deal that day. He called me personally by phone on several occasions to follow up after my appointment. He is a gem.
Dr. Surrey gave us the greatest gift of all --- our son Oliver. Five years of infertility. Two failed IVFs in OC. 1 round of IVF with Dr. Surrey. And we were Blessed with our amazing son. The greatest joy of our lives. We are eternally grateful to Dr. Surrey and the staff and technology at Southern California Reproductive Center.
Went in for what was a free consult and almost walked out with a $275 bill. Seems this place doesn’t keep track of things and there’s no communication. Check out staff has an attitude problem. I know what you said. I heard you say how much I owed, but I asked because I was in shock when I was told FREE consult, nor was I told to bring in the coupon. Yes I attended the seminar, don’t you guys have a check list? And honestly, if I had ever ever ever to get fertility treatment this would be the last place I’d go. For a place that’s central located in Beverly Hills/Mid-Wilshire, the condescending attitude is a no go for me. You can’t be a medical professional and not want to hear what your patient has to say. You ask your patient to keep an open mind but you cannot do that yourself. And in all honesty, if you’re not keeping up with medicine nor have the desire to learn as medicine changes, nor do you have the desire to hear your patients, then maybe this isn’t the profession for you. ACOG really needs to change their golden standards of care for women, maybe then that’ll weed out those not looking out for their patients. Instead it becomes a game of making money. No thanks.
SCRC changed our lives. We now have an amazing, beautiful, healthy baby. I had pretty much given up that Id ever be able to get pregnant but I tried it anyway without much hope. Dr. Ghadir tirelessly and thoroughly tested me before we went through the procedure; he encouraged me every step of the way. I can be pretty wimpy about going to doctors but it really was not that hard. If I can do it anyone can. It was completely worth the effort. I cannot speak highly enough of D. Ghadir and SCRC. These doctors are brilliant. I feel so much gratitude and have cried many tears of joy that we now have a happy, healthy family. Thank you SCRC.
SCRC and Dr. Ghadir have been absolutely amazing. He makes miracles everyday and has provided us with a miracle! He and his staff are always there to answer questions and make you feel welcome and feel that they really care. If you have any issues, they are very quick to respond and answer your questions. Dr. Ghadir, his staff, and SCRC really are the best! Thank you!
I cant thank Dr. Danzer and the entire staff at SCRC. I am about 8 weeks away from delivering my first baby (via IVF)None of this would have been possible without them. We are forever grateful.
**WARNING** IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A BABY STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS CLINIC AS YOU CAN!!
Dr. Alexander is the best. She’s so caring it’s unbelievable. She’s also super expert, so you feel totally safe in her hands. She also is always available. Again, unbelievable!
Be prepared to be lied to and get unexpected bills (they will tell you don’t worry it’s and error via email) but after months you’ll keep getting bills and in the end they’ll pretend and act all surprised.Awful just awful.
Your just a number at this clinic
I love the team at SCRC! The nursing staff is so kind! I cannot recommend them highly enough!!
I had the worst experience, couldnt even get a consultation. After two voicemails and one written request no one has called me yet with a consultation date
My husband said it was the best doctor visit ever.
Staff are very rude when you call. They speak in a very sarcastic rude tone and no one ever gets back to you when you leave messages.
Impossible to get a call back or return email from here
Dr. Gadhir and his team are brilliant. Thank you!
Never answer there phones!!!!! -5 stars
Thank you very much SCRC! Let me be pregnant with my second baby successfully! Just like the last time I was pregnant with my first baby, every step from the preliminary examination, to the embryo transfer, to the final confirmation of pregnancy, went very smoothly! All this is thanks to Dr. Yu Zhang’s professionalism and attentiveness, as well as the help of Ariel from the International Department. She is very enthusiastic and patient, allowing me to communicate with various relevant departments of the clinic in a timely and effective manner, thereby promoting the smooth progress of the entire embryo transfer. I strongly recommend that friends who need IVF seek SCRC, a professional clinic!
Went to SCRC in Beverly hill and asked about egg frozen information at the front desk but they ask me to go online fill up the patient form. Since the patient form done for few weeks later I didnt hear anything back from them so I thought cant make my eggs frozen before I leave USA. until that amazing nurse Ariel found my email been ignored awhile, so she contacts me back and everyday reminded me all of my next steps and schedule, almost like miracles, saved my eggs a week before I leave! Really thanks for hers help! The front desk and contact staff strongly suggested that staff training needs to be strengthened. It is really frustrating to be in a hurry and not be able to contact us. This time, I am very grateful to the miraculous and enthusiastic nurse Ariel. Without her, it would not be possible to complete the egg freezing this time! If you want to freeze your eggs, I highly recommend Ariel and Dr.danzer.
