I had the best experience egg freezing at RMA. Dr Lekovich is fantastic, incredibly kind and knowledgeable. She is so down to earth, never pushy and always has the patient’s best interest in mind. I felt really taken care of by her throughout the months leading up to the procedure and of course once we decided to pull the trigger and freeze eggs at age 37.Her team is wonderful and the nurse Rachel was super nice as well, answering all my questions (and I had so many!). She patiently showed my husband and I how to do the injections and was a great resource during those 2 weeksIf you are looking for a clinic look no further, RMA downtown Brooklyn is the one ❣️
The staff at RMA were kind and knowledgeable. However, the communication leaves a lot to be desired. Frequently, we would have the same conversation with different staff members and receive dramatically different responses, sometimes about something really important. They are also pretty flippant about costs. We were assured that after the year of free embryo storage we would be contacted PRIOR to being billed for that service. We were never contacted and now were on the hook for $600 before we even got to talk about whether we wanted to keep storing the embryos at all. They often say one thing and do another, even when it comes to billing, which is not what I want in a medical provider.
Dr. Jackson Bey and her team were incredible - we could not have asked for a better experience when it came to welcoming our miracle daughter this spring. Dr. Jackson Bey was always so positive and thoughtful with her words while also being completely honest about what to expect on the IVF journey. I would recommend her 10/10 times to anyone who is battling infertility. It was one of the hardest things I ever went through and I was so grateful to have a Dr. who made me feel heard and seen.
I have been a patient of Dr. Lekovichs for about 4 years and cant speak highly enough about my experience. From our very first meeting, I knew I was in the best possible hands. I appreciated her calm, confident, direct manner; she always explains things so clearly and takes time to answer questions - and I had so many in the beginning! She also takes the time to check in on how youre doing as a human. IVF can be a marathon, and feeling supported along the way goes a long way. I found communication with her entire team and the team at RMA to be easy and quick, through each and every step. And most importantly - Dr. Lekovich is amazing at what she does! Its impossible to put into words how grateful I am every day for our 2.5 year old daughter and our next due in October.
My wife and I had a great experience with Dr Jackson-Bey at RMA of New York. All of the doctors and nurses and staff were very knowledgeable and courteous. The practice was very organized and we felt prepared and informed for our fertility journey. Dr. Jackson-Bey went over and above to advocate for our situation and brought a personal touch so we didn’t feel like just another case. We went to the Brooklyn location in Albee square and really enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere, Taylor swift playlist, and overall LGBT friendly vibes.
Dr. Lekovich was my Dr. during my IVF treatment and embryo transfer. It is due to her care , knowledge and support that my husband and I are now parents to a beautiful healthy baby!Everyone believes they are unique and have a special circumstance. Dr. Lekovich treats you as an individual and special . You can feel her passion for her work and she made a very stressful time , more bearable and now joyous with our positive outcome .The staff at the Brooklyn location are also very professional and welcoming .The phlebotomists who take your blood for regular monitoring visits , the front desk as well as the nurses in the OR assisting all make for a wonderful team routing for your success!I highly recommend Dr. Lekovich and this practice!
Dr Jackson Bey is by far the best doctor at the practice, her and her team are kind patient and understanding during the entire experience. I originally went to the Broadway office and the doctor there was awful and never followed up. Treated us like we did not matter, guessing she has too many patients. We switched to Dr Jackson Bey and there was a stark difference between the too. She is the best doctor we are so grateful to her.
Unfortunately we didn’t have a good experience with RMA for a round of IUI and chose to go elsewhere for IVF. Dr. Danis was kind and had a nice bedside manner, but the communications from the front office were very unorganized. They sent through authorization to my insurance for a 2nd round of IUI after I made it very clear we were not wanting to proceed— and I had to spend almost 2 weeks and countless emails and calls to have them correct it. While we only spent about 3 weeks total for the IUI process here, it was bad enough that we knew we wouldn’t be trusting the disorganized communication for a full IVF cycle. (We ended up working with Spring Fertility near Bryant Park for IVF and are so happy we did!)
I had an overall really great experience at RMA; went in for a consultation and did testing, other treatments, and eventually IVF with the clinic across the course of slightly over a year, ultimately resulting in a pregnancy. Some things I really liked:- The clinic is run very efficiently and 95% of my appointments occurred before working hours, which was crucial during treatment. All my test results came back quickly and they shared more information with me than my friends at other clinics got, e.g. all ultrasounds were available online.- My doctor (Dr Lekovich) didnt rush me into treatment, fully explored the root cause with diagnostics, and did a great job when we did proceed to IVF. I always felt that her goals were aligned with mine and she was willing to modify treatments based on my feedback and concerns. She was clearly up to date on research and everything we did seemed to be an industry best practice.- The nurses were always patient, friendly, knowledgeable and available for even silly questions. The only downside is that the clinic seems to be processing a huge number of patients and occasionally I did feel rushed, or had to wait a long time on weekends. I had Progyny and billing was really smooth for me so I cant speak to that part.
Sharing this review should it help or offer hope to even one person on their IVF path. I was in the care of fertility doctors for over 5 years, and in that time saw multiple doctors, specialists, alternative health practitioners and even academics. The turning point in this exhausting journey was becoming a patient of Dr. Jovana Lekovich’s, whose knowledge, tenacity and professionalism is equally matched by her kindness and empathy. Dr. Lekovich never gave up on me, even when I had all but given up. Regardless of the outcome of my IVF experience (and it was eventually a positive one and so joyful) I would say the same thing many times over. If you or someone you love needs the best in the business, it’s Dr. Lekovich.
Dr Lekovich is great and I always feel like there is a clear plan after appointment with her. But the coordinating team is terrible and it’s such a bummer. They are unresponsive and so only go here if you enjoy chaotic operation and talking to a wall.
I had a terrible experience with this clinic. I worked with them from January to July 2024 and at several steps along the way they were unhelpful at best, unkind at times, and unsafe at worst. If you are queer, don’t be fooled by the whole queer section on their website, they do not understand or have sensitivity around the queer fertility experience. I left this practice in July 2024 because of how much I didn’t feel I was being heard. I have three other friends (all queer) who also left this practice after having unhelpful and insensitive experiences.
I had an extremely positive experience at RMA. Dr. Jackson-Bey explained things so well and took her time answering my questions. The nurses (particularly Rachel and Alivia) and phlebotomists were friendly, and my coordinator Nayelyn made me feel comfortable and excited for my process. Things were explained thoroughly and I was given ample opportunity to ask about anything I needed more clarification on. They are quick to respond when needing anything. I thought it was so thoughtful that they have a sign up in the lobby asking people to get childcare and not bring their children into the office. Egg freezing is an intimate, vulnerable experience and they are supportive the whole way through. I’d highly recommend their services!
I had a great experience with Dr.Jackson-Bey and her team. They were always available and very understanding. The staff was also very pleasant and making appointments were easy.
The check in process was seemless . Ms Octivia Richardson was extremely patient professional well and well informed. It was a pleasure to meet her today !!
Felicia, a nurse at RMA BK, was so comforting and helpful during blood withdrawal! The receptionist is so knowledgeable and kind.
I highly recommend Dr. Rachel Danis and the RMA team! She, the other doctors, and the staff and nurses went above and beyond to ensure a good experience and outcome.
I had the pleasure of working with Dr Jackson-bey at RMA. I truly cannot thank her enough, as we recently had our daughter thanks to her care. She made the process so smooth and I was comforted in her prescience from the start. The staff at the office can sometimes be rushed, the wait times can sometimes be long, you may not always get the phlebotomist you prefer, but overall choosing RMA (and especially Dr Jackson-Bey) was the right decision for my family. The only critique I have and I don’t know if this has since changed is you often cannot bring your partner for things like pre/post op that I think should be allowed. Otherwise I highly recommend RMA.
Sneaky billing practices. You might pay for a package but end up with additional invoices for services that were not included that no one informed you were extras. Also worth mentioning that after 27 months, and my entire savings, my fertility journey is over and I dont have a baby to show for it. Good luck if you want to actually have a relationship with your doctor, the only person you will speak with and who will get back to you on a consistent and timely basis is the financial coordinator when payment is due. One of the more frustrating things I experienced was that they could not provide me with a donation form for my mosaic. I dont know why that was so complicated, so unfortunately I had to destroy it. That was a big disappointment when its hard enough to make the decision not to transfer a mosaic. I will say there are many nice front desk staff, nurses and phlebotomists, and I had a positive experience with the transfer team as well so I gave a star for that. I was most disappointed when they gave me a confirmation that I was pregnant after my second transfer, only for my test 3 days later to show that I in fact was not. My HCG was only 14 during my beta which if you look online they say is a gray area or borderline. It would have been much easier on me emotionally if they had better managed my expectations and just told me my first test was inconclusive and that they would retest in a few days rather than getting my hopes up by saying I had a confirmed pregnancy. (My guess is this technically counted as a success and boosted their stats) My doctor was also extremely overconfident during my first transfer and that one didnt take either. I am on the older side at 41, so I suppose I cant blame them for neither of my transfers being successful but regardless there is definitely room for improvement at RMA Brooklyn.
I had a very disappointing experience at this office, primarily due to the consistently rude behavior of the front desk woman. As someone undergoing fertility treatment, I already feel vulnerable and stressed, and her attitude only added to my anxiety. Its unacceptable that a medical professional would treat their patients in such a disrespectful manner. Fertility treatment is such a personal and emotional journey, and its essential that patients feel supported and cared for throughout the process. Unfortunately, the front desk womans behavior left me feeling unsupported and discouraged.Overall, I cannot recommend this office. I sincerely hope that management takes steps to address her attitude and ensure that other patients do not have to endure similar treatment.
The merger from Shady Grove to RMA has been a pain and NO ONE from RMA is doing any kind of follow up
I went to RMA a few years ago and have been storing my eggs there ever since. I continue to have to hunt down my bill so I can make a payment, have never received a statement in the mail, have never received a receipt. I am afraid that it was all a scam, but I keep trying to pay in hopes that it wasnt. The billing department and technology is so painfully lacking that I would never recommend this experience to anyone. Who knows if what I paid tens of thousands of dollars still even exists.
They scanned my insurance card, my Drivers license, but didnt submit it to Lab. Corp. After paying them in the office for the fertility test I recieved an additional bill from the lab. After many days of fighting and calling them I figured out RMA just simply didnt give my insurance to the lab. What a horrible personal to deal with.
My experience at RMA Brooklyn was terrific. Dr Jackson-Bey is absolutely fantastic. She answered all of my questions, and she always made me feel comfortable. Thank you to all of the staff members at the BLKYN location. I will see you guys back in 2-3 years.
They submitted an incorrect code to labcorp that’s not covered under my insurance. My insurance denied the claim. I spoke with Clouden from billing via email . Who stated, unfortunately the code cannot be changed. Both labcorb and my insurance stated the office can resubmit another code that’s covered and my insurance even stated they can work with RMA to submit the correct code. Clouden stated to me I can work out a payment plan with labcorb, how insensitive and unprofessional. RMA created this mess and should work with all parties to resolve it.I am not picking up money off the street to just work out a payment plan . How about you just resubmit the correct code and stop being lazy. Businesses like RMA can never know how hard I work for my money and I can’t simply work out a payment plan . This situation has been a first for me and since I am not supposed to stress therefore, I will not continued service with RMA. I wish not to further elevate my stress levels so I won’t be returning to RMA and won’t recommend anyone to this business.
I researched several facilities before choosing RMA of Brooklyn and ultimately chose it because of its proximity to our home (didn’t want to travel far during Covid) and their success rates. We lucked out and worked with Dr. Tia Jackson-Bey who’s absolutely fantastic. Dr. Jackson-Bey is very thorough, taking time to explain every test and understanding our personal and family history. The treatment plan was transparent and supported by the latest research. Like others have mentioned, the nurses are great and call you back quickly. Insurance issues can be a challenge and they are patient and the finance team clears things up quickly. Highly recommend Dr. Tia Jackson-Bey and RMA. Plus check out the podcast!
I just started my journey and completed most of my testing by now. Still debating whether I will continue with them and pursue any treatment. I do feel like they are all over the place, highly unorganized and I can’t seem to get a clear answer as to what my next steps are and if any additional testing is needed (as my doctor had mentioned the possibility of wanting me to do one additional test). When they finally called me to schedule my first follow-up after the test results came back, then they tell me I have to wait almost a month and a half to speak with the doctor again. Oh and I still have not gotten a clear answer on that additional diagnostic test and how to schedule that if needed. If I had not been on top of my own testing scheduling and asked questions and had not advocated for myself, I feel like it would have been even worse. I must say I do feel like I’m just a number to them and I can’t even get a simple answer as to what to do next. It is not reassuring to begin in this way and I haven’t even gotten to the hard part.
I highly recommend this clinic and Dr. Lekovich! It was a great experience working with Dr. Lekovich and her team at the Brooklyn location.Dr. Lekovich was very understanding, she answered all my questions, she was very positive all along and helped us make a dream come true! We are so blessed to have our baby girl!
No consideration about patients. You dont need a doctor like this to get your fertility treatments. Worst service ever. Clerks in the front are rude and inhuman. They should find a job in the meat market.
This place is a joke. Don’t waste your time here. I was little bit late for my appointment cuz of rush hour traffic. I drove 1:30 hours to come here and they said they can’t take me today. Insane
I had a wonderful experience at Rma,they treat us so nice and we had our first successful cycle🙌🏽best place ever
Terrible customer service. Long wait times. On more than one occasion they issued separate sets of instructions that were contradictory and incorrect.
Dont waste your time this place is like a factory with only 1 concern... Money. Do yourself a favor and avoid the heartache and see a doctor who cares.
