I have known for awhile this is the provider I wanted to see once I moved back from Charleston. Yesterday, I saw Dr. Martin and his team. They are absolutely incredible. He took the time to answer all of my question thoroughly. I did not feel rushed during my appointment. All of my needs were addressed and he allowed me time to make sure all history was correct. My annual was done and he explained everything as he went through the process. His nursing staff and front desk staff were all very kind to me during my appointment. My car had broken down earlier that day and the office staff was kind enough to wait for me to leave. I have never had such an amazing experience with a doctor!

I love Dr. Martin! He is very kind, thorough, and professional. I also really enjoy coming to the office because it doesnt feel like a typical doctors office. The staff are very nice and courteous & my appointment was quick, but not rushed. Highly recommend!

Dr. Martin is a great doctor. He is kind and persistent to find out the problem. I had an OBGYNS office keep telling me that the pain I was experiencing was normal for 8 months. I went to Dr. Martin and it didnt take long for him to not only figure out the problem, but he quickly had me in the OR to do surgery and resolve the problem. Im very grateful that I found him because its very hard to find gynecologist in the area who care.

I was a patient of Doctor Martin’s about ten years ago. While I primarily saw his PA, I experienced a few gaffes while a patient there. I was once erroneously diagnosed with an incurable illness and after I reviewed the results in hand and questioned the diagnosis, I was told that both the provider (not Dr. Martin but a member of his staff) and the medical student (not sure if RN, PA, etc) misread the results.Additionally, I feel Dr. Martin’s bedside manner has room for improvement, though I’m sure it is well intentioned. Being helped off an exam table while half dressed is awkward and uncomfortable. Finally, I was given my post op instructions so Dr. Martin “didn’t have to come back” right before having an emotional surgery. Not catastrophic, but I would have preferred to see my provider to be told everything was okay afterwards.

Horrible experience at this place. Between them saying they accept my insurance yet sending my labs to places that dont resulting in $900 lab bills and also being incredibly inadequate in treatment. Thank god I realized I can just find a different Dr. after almost a year of no results or actual treatment.

I love Dr. Martin and his team. I am overweight and am always scared with new Dr’s for OBGYN services. Dr. Martin made me feel comfortable right from the start. He listened to me asked me questions, I didn’t feel embarrassed or awkward. I felt heard and cared about. Thank you Dr. Martin and team, my fear is gone and I have a new Dr. that makes me feel comfortable with myself at my most vulnerable.

Great experience all around. They came highly recommended from my primary doctor. They have very reasonable prices (I don’t have insurance and was so relieved to be able to afford the two visits). With my doctor’s referral, they called me right away to schedule a new patient appointment. They asked if I preferred a female doctor (which I loved bc I haven’t gone to the gyno in forever and it made me feel more comfortable).Dr. Ashley and the office staff are very welcoming. We ruled out a couple things right away. She was very thorough and solved my wellness mystery the minute she examined me. Very knowledgeable and helpful. They ran a test and the doctor prescribed two meds. I came back the week after to get my annual pap. They remembered me and asked how I was feeling. Much better. The staff again was wonderful and I felt comfortable each visit. I couldn’t recommend them enough. Thank you!

Dr. Martin has been an excellent OBGYN for me. I previously experienced a bad experience elsewhere and was happy that he listened to all of my concerns and understood them. I got a tubal and an ablation here and the process went great for both. He helped me understand the procedures and what to expect. Very happy here!

Dr. Martin and staff diagnosed, tested, treated, and resolved an issue I had been dealing with over 2 years in under 90 days. I’m eternally grateful to Dr. Martin and I am looking forward to great years ahead in regards to my health. I 1000% recommend Dr. Martin for your gynecology needs!!!

I would not recommend. I went for my 20wk ultrasound and was referred by my birth center. There is no screen for you to look at other than the small one they use. I asked if she could turn it so I could see my baby and her reply was “it’s already late and I have today booked and I need to get these pictures in”. My apt was at 9am and it was 9:03. Felt rushed and just a patient checked off the list. What would have been an excited time (finding out the gender) was very underwhelming and a poor experience. I went to MUSC for my first baby and they were amazing. I wasn’t rushed, the worker showed compassion and was excited for us, and they have a huge screen for you to see your baby so you aren’t having to look at the one the lady is using for the pictures. I wish my birth center did not recommend this place. Poor experience and would not come back.

Love this office so much! I originally started as just a regular annual patient and then became pregnant with my first child in 2018. Dr. Martin and staff made this first time mama feel so comfortable and ready for delivery. Now I’m pregnant with #2 and Laurie has continued the feeling of complete trust and comfort I received for #1. Looking forward to delivery in September. Thank you Dr. Martin and staff, you’re all amazing!

Highly recommend! This office is amazing. They have such sweet staff members. I was under the care of Dr. Martin and midwife Laurie, they both made my first pregnancy stress free! I’ve been to other OBGYN in the past who just have you in and out with no personal care, but not here! They treat you like family.

Great doctor and wonderful staff! I love everything about this office ! You’re always greeted with a familiar smiling face. I look forward to coming in for each appointment for regular check ups & OB care! My mom & I are both patients here. The staff is amazing and is always helpful from everyday health questions to insurance questions! This is the office doesn’t just treat you like a patient but like family ! Love it . If you need OBGYN care , ultrasounds, aesthetics, body contouring and much more this is the place to go!

The BEST OB/GYN office in this area! Everyone there is compassionate and friendly. I have been seeing Dr. Martin for 20 years. I wouldn’t even think of going anywhere else. His nurse, Michelle is the best in the business. My daughter sees Martha Green, NP who is top notch as well. This practice treats you like family.

THE BEST EXPERIENCE DOCTOR IVE BEEN TOO! I am not from the Charleston areas and move here about 2 years ago. I found out I was pregnant back in October and been to 3 different doctors which I didn’t feel welcomed. So when I went to Dr.Martin the staff was so friendly and caring❤️ I know this was the place for me. He was so informative and patient and answered all my questions. My baby is due any day now and I know she is in good Hands 🙌🏾🥰

First off when I walked in I felt like I walked into a spa it was so neat peaceful, calm and smelled like a breath of fresh air!!!😫❤️Before my visit I had a lot going on personally that had me feeling very depressed and stressed out and as the days went by my depression and stress became worse for 2 months straight. I had to go through a process with getting accepted into the practice for a couple weeks within those 2 months trying to get into their office. Once I finally got the process figured out everything was smooth as melted butter. I loved every step with registration it was a smooth sailing ride the whole way through. The receptionist was so nice and sweet. They have tablets that you register on and update information on instead of a stack of papers I loved it!!!!! Once I finish my nurse Ms. Kay came and got me as fast as possible she was sooo up close and personal and was destined to take care of me the minute she saw me when we got in the room everything was just AMAZING hands down!!!!!!!!!!she left nothing out and wanted to know everything, every single detail!!!!! I can go on and on but my rating for nurse Kay 10000,0000/ out of 10 loved her the moment we spoke to each other, had my eyes filling up with water I was so happy I found a OBGYN that actually loved they job and did everything in they power to tend to their patients!!!! After I seen my doctor Ms. Ashley and she was soooo understanding patient and concerned also up close and personal, she waisted no time being there for me and my needs……I could also go on and on about Ms.Ashley as well but my rating 10000,0000/ out of 10 as well I felt like I was the only patient in the entire building and everything was about me, I just felt all the stress and depression lift off of my shoulders and that I was also dealing with angles my entire visit!!!!!!!Only bad thing I wish Dr.James T still delivered babies because I would’ve loved for him to deliver my babies and I’m sure he was amazing at doing it, and also which they had a patient portal but other than that…….I will forever attend at this OBGYN unless they close which I hope never happens!!!!! Dr.James T hand picked angels within the entire office everyone was so nice sweet and polite !!!! I can just sit and talk with them till I’m blue in the face lol!!!!!! Wish I would’ve known or asked about them sooner!!! But never the less I’m here now and I’m here to stay !!!!!!!!!!!! You won’t regret it!!!!!!!❤️🏥🔐🥹☺️

Dr. Martin and his staff are the best. Ive been a patient for most of my adult life. His office staff is incredibly friendly and always very helpful. Sometimes there may be a wait, but seeming as he delivers babies for a living sometimes they run on their own schedules, so it is to be expected occasionally. Dr. Martin is always available for any question I may have and has gone above and beyond over the years as my doctor. Martha Green is one of the greatest PAs Ive ever met, always smiling and a joy to be around. I highly recommend this office!

I had a wonderful experience. Nurse Kay and Ashley Rode treated me very well. I felt like they heard me. I’ve gone to the doctor four years ago for my concerns and didn’t feel like I was actually being listened to about my health concerns. They asked a lot of questions and felt heard. I will be coming back to do my yearly exams.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I dont have the energy or patience to go into all the details of my appointment, but what I will say is that I have never felt so dismissed at a doctors office in my entire life. I stated my concerns to my Obgyn, Ashley to be specific about my body and how I knew something was off due to my IUD and that I wanted it removed, and how I knew it was messing with my hormone levels. The nurse I spoke to weeks ago scheduled my iud removal and hormone testing on the same day and said that was okay, only to be told today they dont even do both of these things at the same time. My obgyn basically told me there was no reason why 28 year Olds need to get their hormone levels tested unless you have a specific problem that you want looked at. I truly am baffled as to why they cant just agree to doing a full hormone panel in general to test ones general overall health. Even if I didnt have my iud, I wouldnt be able to get my levels tested, based on her reasoning. I also mentioned I didnt want any other form of birth control after my IUD removal, and questioned as to what I was going to do then if I didnt want to get pregnant. In my opinion, that is none of your business. This is MY BODY were talking about. I know something is wrong and or off..and if Im requesting something to be done to check on that, then it shouldnt be a problem. Also, they need to have better communication between the front desk, nurses, and doctors because Ive been told too many different things which caused a part of this appointment to be absolutely terrible and pointless. I will never go back. EVER. Please look elsewhere.

I have seen Dr. Martin and staff for the past 7 years since we moved to Summerville. We are half way through our second pregnancy and it has been a wonderful experience both times. They really care for you and your family. I have always seen a woman for my check ups (absolutely love Martha!) and I was terrified when we got pregnant the first time since now I’d have to see a male doctor. I can say I am no longer afraid, Dr. Martin is excellent and will put your fears at rest. He has the most exceptional staff, from when you are first greeted by either Tracie or Megan up front to the ladies in the back ( I’ve mostly seen Michelle, Sarah or Rebecca). Most recently, I’ve met Laurie (there midwife) and am enjoying getting to know her as well. Thank you all for the service you provide. It goes far beyond your duty as a health care provider.

I have used Dr. Martins office for 19 years. Becky Miller was my main OB before she retired last year, 2020.The staff here is simply amazing, wonderful and professional.They have taken care of me, through my cysts, all the way to helping me welcome my newest baby into the world.If you are looking for a new OB, please give them a call, their receptionists and medical staff will make sure youre very well taken care of.

Could not say enough great things about Dr. Martin and his staff. You will not be able to find a doctor who will care more about you and your baby. He listens, cares and takes time at each visit. Dr. Martin and his staff went above and beyond to make sure all questions, concerns and cares are addressed and talked through. Everyone has a smiling face and gets to know you personally. From the first appointment, my husband and I felt well cared for. Every staff member worked to make the birth experience all that we planned and hoped for. Hands down, the BEST ob/gyn practice..

When my gynecologist retired and I found myself looking for a new doctor, I was nervous. That feeling faded once I became a patient of Dr Martins office. I was fortunate enough to get to see Martha Green. She is an absolute pleasure to work with. She is so kind, compassionate and professional. She listens to concerns I have. She is knowledgeable and intuitive. When she says, call me if you need anything, I know she means it. When I was waiting for test results, she called me herself, went over the results and the plan. While this is something she could have had someone else do, she called me herself. Because her patients are a priority.After having some issues, I had to have a full hysterectomy. Dr Martin took over my care. He answered every question. He was very patient and thoroughly explained everything. After my surgery, he personally called me to check in to see how I was doing. I ended up getting a fever a couple weeks after surgery (during the peak of Covid lockdowns) and he was so concerned. He made sure I was doing okay. During the healing process, I saw Dr Martin for several months and I truly cant say enough about his bedside manner.As a patient at their office, I feel like family. I know that they sincerely care about me and all their patients.

Always love being taken care of by Dr. Martin and Michelle. They have given me excellent service and medical care over the last 25 years. I am blessed to be a patient of this practice.

All my experiences with Dr. Martin and his team have been amazing! I saw Laurie for my whole pregnancy, and having her and Dr. Martin there for my son’s birth in the OR was a great experience. I was glad to have the same team with me from start to finish.

Best experience I ever had! Dr Martin not only delivered my 2 boys back in 2011 and 2014, he delivered me back is 1985. So patient and kind. Also the whole staff is very helpful and caring in any way possible. Will definitely be using them as long as I possibly can. I highly recommend and give 5 stars.

Cant recommand this practice enough! I’ve had the pleasure of seeing PA Martha Greene a few times and she is wonderful. So extremely kind, caring and really makes you feel comfortable. She is very knowledgeable and makes sures to follow up. Nurses and officer staff are also super friendly!! Very easy to get an appointment. Thank you for all your great work!

Absolutely love the entire staff! We are so glad that we switched to this practice after a negative experience with another practice. Dr. Martin and Laurie Hershey, CNM are both amazing and take the time to answer all of our questions for my wife, Acacia, and I. We never feel rushed or like we are wasting anyones time. From the front desk, nurses, phlebotomist, and doctors everyone is very welcoming and caring. We are so happy to be part of the practice and trust them 100% with the care of my wife.

The wait for my first visit was a tad long and my second visit went rather fast. As with any office wait times vary and can be troublesome but the staff is friendly and kind. I thought Id lost my phone and the front desk woman called it so I could locate it. The PA Martha Green is SO SWEET! I had to bring both my daughters to my appointments and she was so understanding, even when one threw a bit of a fit. The sonographer was amazing. Funny, fast, but took time to chat and didnt make me feel like a subject. She gave me as much info as I wanted and was also very sweet with my kids. A great practice, in my opinion.

I have given birth twice while under the care of Dr. Martin and his team. I can say nothing but wonderful things! Dr. Martin delivered my son, and then Lori his midwife delivered my daughter a year and a half later. Both experiences were amazing and resulted in a healthy mom and baby!

I was recommended by a PCP to come here many many moons ago. While seeing Dr Green for OBGYN I got pregnant with my son and started seeing Dr Martin for my pregnancy. I was already nervous since Id already lost one child but the staff is great and I couldnt recommend a better place. Once my daughter is old enough Ill making her appointments here as well.

Dr Martin and all of his staff are amazing! His PA, Martha, is so sweet and caring, eat to talk to and really listens to you. The nurses are all so sweet and wonderful. I wouldnt recommend going anywhere else!

I was searching google for my OB and was shocked to see the reviews. I have been seeing Dr. Martin and his office (both Becky and Martha) since I was new to town and discovered I was pregnant with my now 3.5 year old daughter. All of the nurses and staff are incredibly nice and attentive and remember your name and things about you and your health. In March of last year (2015) I suffered an unexplainable loss at 22 weeks of my daughter and Dr. Martin was out of town. He came back into to town to care for me and to make sure that he was there for the delivery which I was incredibly touched by. If you want personal care without seeing a different OB every time you go to the office, I highly reccommend Dr. Martin. There is sometimes a wait, but seeing how you do get personal care with a single Dr. in office, it is to be expected and to me, worth it.

Super friendly staff! I came here after a bad experience with a prior OB/GYN and this place crushed it! I wish I came here sooner. I felt very comfortable and like my health really mattered. I highly recommend them!

Everyone in the office is super sweet and welcoming especially Ms. K. I’m normally too shy to say anything but with Ms. K it made it so much easier. Dr. Ashley is super informative and had every answer to the questions that I was asking. I am super happy I made the decision to come here.

Dr. James Martin has performed two flawless surgeries on my wife, counseled us through infertility and has now delivered three beautiful boys(ages 4, 2, newborn). There are many great doctors in this world but I have yet to find one more in tune with the specific needs of his patients (and patients spouse). He goes beyond the standard of care and has given us the best gift a physician can give any patient. That gift was and remains the gift of confidence in his guidance and wisdom.

Dr. Martin has been my doctor for close to 35 years. He delivered both my daughters in 1990 and 1995. He has always been thorough, professional and caring. I have always felt confident in the healthcare he has provided me over many years.

Dr Martin and Martha are a god send! Many years of fertility issues and no answers to my issues finally came to an end when I started seeing them! I didn’t get the answers I had hoped for but the process was amazing and I felt like I was part of a family. My loses were also theirs and I could not have made it through that part of my life without their support. I recommend them to everyone!!

Highly recommend this office. Martha Green is awesome. Office staff is always friendly and helpful and the wait is never long. Since first visiting this office my obgyn anxiety has gone down immensely. Very welcoming and understanding.

I usually see Dr. Martins PA, Martha, whom I absolutely adore. She always listens to what Im saying and explains things so I can understand them and without making me feel stupid. The times I have seen Dr. Martin he has been overly caring and made me feel at ease. Plus he saved my life 😉 I highly recommend this practice!

Fact that I love is that no hurry feeling like others doctor office they are very patient cordial string from your check in all the way to your check out. I have couple year with Dr. Mr. And they are great.

I love how personal the staff was with my care pre-pregnancy, while pregnant, and post-partum. They explained everything so well and made me feel very comfortable as a first time mom and as a woman. They also made my husband feel comfortable with my pregnancy journey as well. Thanks for everything!

Hands down, best medical office. You just feel like family there. Seeing Martha Green feels more like catching up with an old friend vs that uncomfortable feeling of a Drs visit.Sexual Health is not a dirty word, and I never feel awkward or uncomfortable with this office.

Please do not go there! They pin services that were not provided by them charging for days when they don’t serve you, I was literally kicked out of the office because I didn’t want to deliver a baby in their location they were servicing... doctor literally stood at the door and told me to leave even tho I was going there for 4 months! They knew I was delivering in a different hospital! Laurie the nurse or whatever she is asked me if I wanted to take dna test I didn’t want it but she said it would be free... you see how free it was!!! they also were making me sign documents saying I’ll be with them till the end with someone else’s ssn number!!!! Unprofessional and rude...I’ll make sure I’ll post it everywhere so people know

Dr James T. Martin Jr. and his staff saved and changed my quality of life. I am so thankful. I am convinced that sometimes angels swap out their wings for a scalpel and scrubs.

I appreciate Dr. Martin for the lap ablation he performed for me when I was initially diagnosed with Endometriosis/ Adenomyosis, but I do not appreciate the negative commentary that was written on my records by some of the women there (Rebecca Miller) , nor do I believe that this office has a lot of compassion for black women or people who suffer with crippling Endometriosis/Adenomyosis pain. They literally called me “overly dramatic” in my records (they had the AUDACITY to actually type that - completely insulting... I couldnt believe how ignorant & inconsiderate that was) I remember being prescribed an antidepressant once by Martha Green just because I was crying IN extreme DEEP SEATED PAIN and frustration from endometriosis, and the little concern they were showing, as well as BANDAID options they were giving. They also weren’t informative enough about the RISKS of taking birth control to treat Endometriosis either WHICH IS MALPRACTICE. When I chose to opt into the Lap they suggested I have immediately (emergency surgery was the language they used), it was an uninformed decision. He only removed the Endometriosis he could see which was understandable, however I don’t appreciate the fact that I wasn’t informed about all of my options (even outside of what he is qualified to do - in terms of ablation versus excision) Also, after I began to heal from that surgery, I noticed a lump (A bulge) on top of my belly button, and when I asked about it the nurse practitioner (Martha Green) just brushed it off and said it would go away on it’s own. That bulge is still there to this day. A good doctor who is passionate about his patients should inform the patient of ALL possibilities, and golden treatments for whatever they’re dealing with. He didn’t remove all of my rectovaginal endometriosis (which has been the most painful before and after surgery) and now I suffer with inordinate crippling pain because it has gotten way worse due to it never getting treated properly. Had they informed me of everything I needed to know (such as ablation versus excision), I wouldn’t be facing a more invasive surgery soon. Also they have ridiculous rules and regulations that do not always serve people in a positive way.I wanted to leave this here to provide perspective for any other black 20 something who is just trying to manage & live a normal life. I’d take my chances elsewhere, your quality of life matters more than anything. You want to be adequately helped.. NOT just picked for your coins & dismissed when you have LEGITIMATE concerns or can’t make a few appointments due to being unpredictably debilitated by a disease you didn’t ask for... or being dismissed from the practice because you are ultimately concerned about your health and want the best care possible.They literally told me they didn’t have my records when I first requested them, I had to tell the rep “my mother saw the records from surgery with her naked eye - you have them” then the woman placed me on a brief hold & finally got my records to me in the mail soon after. Chronically ill people don’t need a hard time when they’re just trying to manage & get help.Shoutout to all the endometriosis sufferers...especially women with crippling pain... who get hassled and dismissed for being late, for canceling, because their health prevents them & feel like jerks because of it. You’re not over dramatic, unreliable and “chronically noncompliant” - YOUR DISEASE IS.Shoutout to the doctors and practitioners who ACTUALLY care and DO EVERYTHING that they can (including being warm & positive) to help the patient instead of writing that their patient is overly dramatic on their progress note. I guess everyone else with crippling endometriosis is being overly dramatic too, right? The inept individual who put that on my record doesnt even deserve to be in the position she is in. Im disgusted and traumatized by my experience here.I have since moved on to a better OBGYN, Endometriosis Specialists (out of state) & naturopathic doctors.Sayonara!

I am so please with the service I have received with this office. Everyone is so pleasant and the doctor take the time to hear me and address all my concerns. I don’t feel rushed to get out.

The wait is absolutely ridiculous. Each visit is at least two hours long even though nothing special ever happens, just routine check ups, for example.
