Hi, my name’s Will and I came here for starting testosterone. Although I was let down (I was told on the phone I would be able to start the same day; the person on the phone likely assumed I was an adult), the experience itself was great! The staff were funny and comforting and I didn’t feel babied or belittled at all. Come two weeks-ish, I should be getting my file officially approved and starting my transition! This experience is so important to my life and I’m happy I got to talk to these lovely staff members to start :)
I want to first give my love to the volunteers that help guide patients to the Planned Parenthood building. One of my biggest fears was the protestors and the volunteers kept them in check and made me feel comfortable before I even walked in. As for the inside, the building is clean and the staff were very pleasant! It absolutely feels like a no judgment zone. Although the wait is long, it doesn’t compare to the appreciation I have for this organization. Also, the MD was AMAZING!! Keep up the great work!
After reading the reviews, I did my best to not let them influence my decision about going here. The ladies here are super friendly and informative. The facility was clean. The only downside was the movie that was played in the waiting area. It started out with a funeral of a young boys parents. Who wants to watch something about death when they are most likely about to go through a process that involves death.
Was pleasantly surprised at this experience! Was worried since I saw all the bad reviews but everything from making an appointment to have my IUD removed, to the front desk people, nurses , and RN that did my removal was super kind. My RN explained the whole process and was super empathetic and great. I would def recommend if you need to have a procedure done. Also I felt super safe since they had a bunch of security stuff in place.
The staff its self and the whole process went so smooth and amazing they answer any questions you have and are so sweet. They took care of me and all my worries the d nc procedure I had I was so worried it was going to be so bad but it wasnt nearly as bad as I thought they walked me through it and it was super quick. The only negative I have is the typical protesters they confuse you in the beginning and try to get you to stop. Remember dont stop for them keep going look for the planned parenthood signs and the helpful staff in the rainbow vests!!!! They will be trying to help direct you.
Was supposed to have an appointment yesterday to get a new RX prescription. they never sent the link, called or anything. the lady at the front is extremely rude and a major liar as well. she has multiple complaints against her yet still has a job, shocking🙄
I was in need of an IUD but don’t have health insurance. I made an appointment with PP and was told it could cost over $1000 since they didn’t have financial backing at the time. When I showed up for my appointment, everyone was very friendly and professional. The waiting room and patient rooms were clean. Best of all, I was told they had received a grant that would cover the cost of the IUD. So I walked away paying only $100. I was incredibly thankful and highly recommend this location.
If you can, avoid the b with black and white hair. very rude, a liar and talks over you while talking to you like a child. dealt with her twice, both times she was VERY rude. i will be finding another location for my husband and i. 10/10 dont recommend going here just because of her. everyone else is nice as can be though.
So normally I would not leave a review on a company/organization but for one as important to the community as planned parenthood I decided I would do this.Yesterday I had an alarmingly cold hearted experience with them.I called in about my issues with getting an appointment with them and dealing with my Testosterone. Obviously I am sincerely thankful for their help with getting my testosterone and getting me through my transition and I very much understand the issues surrounding the Covid situation. However, the issue with getting an appointment has been impeding my process.I called and spoke to a woman at the front desk about my situation. I am a postal worker and have a hard time with getting to them through the link they send me. This has caused me to miss several appointments because I work in a rural area and the link they send doesnt necessarily work most of the time. The previous time I had asked to get an appointment the person who answered me to fill my appointment said they would have them call. They did not.So when I spoke to this recent woman she understood that I had been without my testosterone for some time and said she would connect me with someone in the medical center. After several moments on hold I spoke to someone in the medical center and she also said she would put me on hold to talk to the women at the front desk. After that I waited again, for about 5 minutes, waiting to talk to the both of them, or at the very least one of them about the situation. This did not happen. For some inconceivable reason some random woman at the front desk picked up my call (just to let you know this is the third random person I have had to relay the same story to) and asked me what I needed. I explained to her that I had been waiting to talk to the original woman and the medical person whom I had been talking to but she basically told me that, no I had not been waiting for them, but was just put on hold. Now, I had been having a long and terrible day and was extremely frustrated and I, someone who never cries, began to get emotional and cried. The new person who had picked up my phone call hung up on me out of annoyance.I called back, between sobs, and told the new person (the 4th person at this point) what happened and she seemed annoyed at me for being upset. This is a place of business that deals with very heavy subject matter (abortions, sexual diseases, gender, etc.) and to be so cold toward someone suffering seems so disgusting to me.And now I am two days out and have received no calls from the medical center and no contact back.I should say Im sorry for leaving a bad review but I am not. I just hope that further patients who contact this place of business and who are dealing with far worse ailments than me are given a better treatment.
I am giving one star specifically due to the behavior of a CSR. Stacey has to be the most unpleasant person I have ever encountered. Not only is she rude every time I have to interact with her (especially on the phone), shes also incompenent and evidently struggles to use new programs. All she has done is deflect tasks to insurance or pharmacy and claim the problem is not clinic side. Only for pharmacy/insurance to prove the issue was clinic side and walk her through tasks while she argues with insurance reps. My health has been suffering for months, I have had to go without medication for months, I have had the most difficult time even making appointments. None of this happened before Stacey began working the front desk. I dont have these issues with the other CSRs. I recommend requesting a different CSR at sign in, especially if you are a transgender patient. Stacey will not help you, but most of the other CSRs are wonderful. I honestly feel bad for them having to work with her.
I was really nervous when I got to the clinic. However, as soon as I opened the door, I was welcomed by big smiles and kind words. I think they could tell I was nervous and were quick to make sure I felt welcomed. I did not have to wait long to see the doctor. The doctor was very friendly and welcoming. I felt comfortable asking her any questions I had...even the more private ones. She answered all my questions. I cannot express how kind the whole staff was. I sincerely appreciate the service I received from staff and nurse practitioner. I highly recommend this clinic. Also, there were male and female patients. So if you are a dude and looking into this clinic, I still highly suggest giving this one a visit. This clinic is welcoming to everyone. No judgment, only kindness.
The health center is very nice and friendly, full of wonderful faces and people who know what theyre doing EXTREMELY well. If youre coming for a simple appointment or telehealth visit, theyll do their job well. That being said, if you have any issues that requires needing their help center, youll be hard-pressed to have anyone pick up within a week of calling. Youd be much better off contacting your doctor directly if given the chance.
I went today, for an appointment, and I expected the worse. I can not completely review my full experience as I have only done half so far, but as for the actual facility...they were wonderful. The positive reviews on here are correct and I am glad I chose them based on those reviews. Only hateful unfriendly staff is one heavy set Hispanic looking woman, that works at the front counter. The rest of the staff were wonderful and did not make you feel judged or uncomfortable. The woman who performs the ultrasounds is so great. Talk about a happy kind person! The male doctor I saw was wonderful and very friendly and answers all your questions thoroughly as well as explains everything to you in detail. You are given plenty of opportunity to change your mind without them attempting to interfere. Protesters were outside but they did not bother anyone from what I witnessed and in all fairness, they have the right to peacefully protest. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I never thought I would find myself in this position or choosing the choice I did, but I am glad I chose this facility in my time of need. They offer a variety of services and whether you are male or female, I would recommend using this facility. I am grateful for their assistance and the help they have provided me.
First of all, Im a trans woman who went here for a year for trans care. They use the informed consent model and they prescribed micronized progesterone for my HRT regimen, which I am extremely grateful for, but PLEASE dont go here for lab work. One time I came in for my regular three-month hormone level check, and all they did was a basic panel. Another time I went in for the hormone level check and they contaminated the specimen, meaning I wasted money and waited a month for no results.I also found it agonizing to call them - the hold times are extremely long, and certain days I had to give up even attempting to call since nobody would ever pick up, regardless of the time of day.One time, the pharmacy they normally sent my prescription to ran out of one of my essential medications, and I had to find that out myself through the pharmacy and switch to a different one on my own. Extremely unhelpful and impersonal, those are the words Id used to describe this clinic.Id also like to add that they were not helpful at all as far as helping me with any of the legal work needed to change my name or gender marker. They just seemed to not really care about my transition at all.
I cannot believe it requires your first born child and your leg to even get through to these ppl just to schedule a vacectomy consultantion appointment. You cant even make these type of appointment online(and the call center woman didnt even believe me) which leads me to believe some of them arent fully trained on whats actually on the website. It took me 2 hours to try to reschedule my husband missed vacectomy appointment (he works grave yards so he cant easily just call during business hours) we missed it due to heavy rain fall and having to dive 2 hours for this 10 mins consult appt. Now I have to wake him up and hopefully he can try to get through just so he can confirm its him...so I can finish scheduling the appt. FYI SCHEDULING APPTS IS HIPPA VIOLATION.
Horrible experience. Had a telehealth appointment today at 1:20. They called me at 10:20 saying I need to come in person even though I was established in October. Calling me the same day telling me I need to make an hour and a half trip to Columbia is NOT how this is going to go.Thank you for turning me away from any and all further planned parenthood. Everyone in the South East, do yourself a favor and go to QueerMed in Atlanta. They do telehealth and have a FAQ detailing exactly what youre getting into. If I could use a few choice words I really would.
If youre considering these guys for HRT, try the clinic in Charleston or QueerMed in Atlanta. You wont have to drive to either one as they do telehealth if youre worried about distance. These guys were not at all invested in my transition (except for Megan, who apparently left) and basically ignored me, and I lost 2 months of hormones because of it. They also didnt up my dosage when I got my lab work done like they said they would do, and then it was impossible to get in contact with them. 6 months of my time essentially wasted.
They were very sweet and had some yummy snacks. Place is cleaned and a nice environment. All the employees were kind, polite and very helpful.
Absolutely horrible. Had a Telehealth appointment with them. I couldnt get the app to load so I called them to see what to do. I was told they will get back to me asap to do my appointment. Of course, nobody ever called me. Really needed my birth control too 😢
Lovely people here. When my normal OBGYN wasnt seeing low-risk patients because of COVID, Planned Parenthood had my back. Dr. asked a lot of questions my normal OBGYN never asked me before. Felt like my health was important to her and felt heard. On top of that, I got an appointment quickly (within five days of the pain I had). Getting an OBGYN appointment in a timely manner can often feel like trying to find a needle in a haystack, so I was incredibly thankful for the quick turnaround. Thanks for all you do!
Absolutely terrible! I tried calling them so many times and no one picked up. The one time someone did get in touch with me, they called back an entire week later. Awful customer service. I just needed my BC refilled. They claim to be advocates for women but completely ignored me. I had to get my BC refilled via GoodRx. They really ought to be ashamed of themselves.
All of the people giving 1 star are doing it from a biased, uninformed standpoint- and have obviously never been to this clinic. The staff is helpful and caring. They offer affordable birth control options and physical exams. Im in college and my health insuance doesnt help with the birth control I use. After an amazing physical exam, the doctor helped me choose a birth control method that I can purchase there (and it is cheaper than anywhere else). I love the caring staff and am appreciative of the services they provide.
I have been a lifelong PP patient. Every one of my appointments has been at this branch and each time I have received complete and unbiased care. I am thankful for what PP contributes to the community and I am appreciative that my entire life I have had access to accurate reproductive health care and options.
Would give a zero if I could. I called and made an appointment to get the implant out of my arm because its been terrible for my body for 2 years. The guy didnt schedule it even though he told me he did so now I have to wait a week longer just to get it out. Also they barely ever answer their phones. Just lazy and suck at their jobs. Will never go back after I get this out of my arm.
MY ABORTION PILL EXPERIENCE: GRAPHIC DETAILS. Drink lots of fluids. Cracker, bread products helps. I AM NOT a doctor this is my personal experience and opioions.HOPE IT HELPS SOME OF YOU LADIES BECAUSE THE CLINIC DOESNT TELL YOU THE TRUTH ABOUT HOW IT WILL FEEL.Courteous staff. How ever the wait is very very very long. Also ladies they dont tell you how you are really going to feel when you take the abortion pills. The first pill you take at the clinic. Then they give you a antibiotic to take that night. The syptoms I got after taking the first pill were small changes. I didnt feel the small changes until late the next day. A few hours before I took the second and final dose. You take two pills and place them between ur cheeks and gums. Then you take another two and put them on the other side. You hold those four pills there for 30 min then swallow the remander of the pills. Before taking those pills I took a Tylenol3 and a nausea pill. 30 min before placing the other pills in my mouth. To give them well enough time to get into my system. I tried to brace my self for the heavy period lime cramps I was told to expect shortly after taking my last dose. 30 45 min passed after taking the last dose of meds and I could start to feel strong cramps. They started to come in waves. Just like contractions. At first they werent bad. As they progressed though they were very intense and at one point I thought about going to the ER. I have had 2 children and to me these contractions were almost as bad. Meaning to me a active full term child birth rated a 10 to me these contraction were a 7. I also had the urge to push and the pressure. Kinda like you have to poop. Best thing to do is go sit on the toilet. Least thats what I did. The pain got so bad at one point I threw up sitting on the toilet. A few hours later after passing several blood clots, and making it threw those horrible pains without going to the hospital. The pains started lessen in pain I was able to lay down. I found cuddling a pillow was the most help, tightly on my belly. I dozed of to sleep about 2 hours later after filling my glass a again for the 4th time. Stay hydrated and keep plenty of crackers or bread or something along those lines to snack on when u can. It helps. I never wanna go through this again. I was told to go with the surgery and I should have listened. Try to surround ur self with people who can tend to u. If u didnt have anyone like me then honey get everything prepared before you take those last 4 pills. Best of luck to everyone I hope this helps yall to know the truth.
The address shown under google #103 is actually the Administration office of PP so this shall you save you a walk and an eyeful of the paper taped on the door saying sorry for the inconvenience. Which will be an inconvenience for the ones coming in at or after 4. This is not stated nor is it clear on the website but Even though walk ins dont need appointment , you better get there between 11&4 on Mondays & Thursdays since their Dr has scheduled days and PP hours vary. So you might as well make an appointment. In my case knowing that they close at 5 I got off around 315 to have a STD screening. Arrived at #103 office to be turned around to find the accurate building all just to hear that they have stopped seeing walk ins at 4. The clock said approximately 4:02 . I then asked about Pap smears being offered but once again I would have to make appointment for that . I asked were there ANY services at that point that I could partake in and the answers were no since everyone is done or gone for the day but yet close at 5. However I was informed if I wanted to make an appointment for a screening , the next open slot was November 8. Lets just say for us young people to still have PP as an OPTION to go to in this day of age , This location was not helpful at the door nor specific with their online information and to the employee at the counter, You never know who you are speaking to and decent customer service can go a long way .
Unable to get anyone to answer calls to confirm financial obligation to pay the day of services. I’d love to give my appointment to somebody else in need if I can’t afford it but they’re Not communicating with me.
17 years old, no insurance, no job, no family. Charged nearly $300 for the depo shot. Had to choose between treating my PCOS or groceries. So much for “affordable teen health care”.
Wonderful, helpful and friendly staff. Awesome doctors who truly care about your health and health decisions. Cannot recommend enough.
Very polite and kind staff!
The best place I’ve been to talked to me the whole way and would let me squeeze their hand , the doctor was amazing as well.
Had a hormone therapy at 10 A.M......they called while I was at WORK at 4:50 P.M.....on a Wednesday that was 10 mins. Before they closed 😡😡😡😡
Alexis is great with her patients.
Follow pink signs, ignore protestors in green vests. Friendly greeters and kind staff.
Kind courteous and understanding. Fast and thorough service. Very Greatful for them
Says there open , not open, called in and they told us to call another number, just lazyness.
Great service and wonderful people that are very helpful.
Absolutely horrible service!
Terrible. ,just terrible.
Poor scheduling.
Excellent service and friendly staff, I really liked it
