Although I didnt end up delivering at the birth center due to placental insuffiency and low amniotic fluid, I highly recommend this birth center and the amazing midwives there. I felt listened to and taken care of throughout the entire pregnancy. When things didnt seem right at the end, the midwives took extra time to do an ultrasound and double-check things. They have great communication with the hospital and were able to call them for a last-minute ultrasound (as well as fetal monitoring earlier around 26 weeks). The midwife who called to tell me I needed to be induced was so caring and understanding of my worry about needing to go to the hospital after only experiencing birth center births before. She offered to call a volunteer doula for me, and was very calming and reassuring.I was pleasantly surprised that the midwives did all of the postpartum care/checkups for me and Baby even though we had to be transferred to the hospital for the induction. The midwives came to our house every day after the birth to check me and Baby (he was low birth-weight and needed his bilirubin checked for a while). I had a very helpful lactation consultation with Emily as well.I couldnt have asked for better care from the awesome team of midwives. They are professional, knowledgable, and caring. They never minded me bringing my toddlers to the appointments, patiently answered all my questions and looked into my concerns. I highly recommend this birth center!
This place is an incredible resource for all aspects of womens health. I recommend many clients here and get nothing but positive feedback. Highly recommended not only for pregnancy, birth and postpartum but also gyn care, gender-affirming care and especially for menopause care! If youre a woman over 40 dealing with perimenopause/hormone issues, Susan Heinz is the provider for you.
After my first son was born in the hospital, I wanted a different experience when I became pregnant with my second. I decided to visit Corvallis Birth and Wellness Center and it was the best decision I could have made. Even though I had to birth in the hospital, they made sure I felt safe and comfortable and transferred me to the midwives at the hospital. They still handled my post-partum care once I was discharged and I still see them for wellness today. This is a lovely, patient-centered office and I cannot recommend them enough.
We started our care at 36 weeks, and the transition was so easy. The visits up until delivery were perfect and any concerns or questions I had always got answered. We were able to meet with all the midwife’s and they made us feel safe, and heard. I went into labor after 5pm and from the moment we arrived it was perfect. I had the dream water delivery I’ve always wanted. The aftercare has been amazing with the baby and myself. I am so thankful we had the opportunity to deliver here. After having my first three babies at the hospital, respectfully, I would highly recommend the Corvallis Birthing Center.
Midwives are absolute heroes!! We LOVE our Birth Center family and are eternally grateful to Susan for delivering these services to our community. Every member of the team has their own unique set of strengths and they harmonize well. They even have a lactation consultant, Debbie, who is udderly amazing! ;) Both our babies were delivered healthy and very happy here, and they took exemplary care of mama (and even papa). We love the Birth Center staff so much it makes us want to keep breeding (but....thats not a good reason). Well forever remember each of you and are ever grateful for the care we continue to receive.
I couldn’t image a better birth experience than the one we experienced with Corvallis Birth and Women’s Health Center from prenatal care to postpartum and new born care. Our prenatal visits were never rushed. Our questions and concerns were addressed and answered/ explained in depth.I feel I was given the power to labor and deliver in the way that felt right to me. When complications arose during delivery the team of midwives remained calm and encouraging and guided me in safely delivering our baby.Post natal care was nurturing and nourishing as they provided lactation support and homemade smoothies and food.We got to take our healthy baby home just ours after delivery, knowing the support of our midwives was just a phone call away. The after birth home visits were lovely. It was so nice to be able to relax at home and have the care come to us.Overall there isn’t a thing I would change! We 100% recommend Corvallis Birth and Women’s Health Center! I think it’s important to note that the joy and pride these amazing women have in implementing the services they provide shows in the way they provide care and how they treat their patients! Thank you Debbie, Susan, Melissa, Kourtney and Aundrea! Emily and Alice too! You guys are truly the best!
The Corvallis Birth Center is fantastic! This business goes above and beyond and makes you feel like family. The midwives were kind, attentive, and easy to talk to. My labor and delivery went as smoothly as I could have hoped for. Every year on my daughters birthday I will think back to how appreciative I am to Kourtney, Andrea, and Susan for their support during labor. My daughter had to go to the hospital at 4 days old and Susan was waiting when we got admitted to the nursery. I was terrified, but seeing Susan was a huge comfort to me.I look forward to seeing them again when Im ready to expand my family!
I cannot begin to describe how amazing this center is. All of the midwives and staff are so kind, attentive, understanding and wise. Each appointment was comfortable and as long as I seemed fit. All my options were presented with no pressure. The classes were so helpful, personal and educational. My labor was long and intense, but I never felt worried. Susan, Debbie and Andrea were there the whole time; helping me, encouraging me and suggesting new positions and strategies to help me through. I felt safe and knew my baby would be too. After birth, we were pampered, looked after and fed delicious food. The home visits are fabulous!! These women are wonderful, down to earth and so knowledgeable. The birth center has so many resources too to help ALL moms in the community. Beautiful building and birthing suites. I HIGHLY recommend.
I carried and delivered my second child under the care of these phenomenal midwives. I had an out of hospital birth in another state and was determined to do it again. Susan and her team are absolutely phenomenal. They care, they make decisions based on science and balance that with any preferences I may have.I felt safe and empowered here. My birth was amazing. Even in the age of covid-19.I will forever hold this community in a special place in my heart. If youre curious, please, go check it out. Its a wonderful facility with all the things needed to safely deliver your baby without it being overly clinical and sterile. Plus, the bathtubs could fit my 6ft2 pregnant self with room to spare.
Wonderfully supportive midwives and staff. Everything was great, from prenatal to postpartum. We have overflowing gratitude for these people, thanks!
I’ve had both of my babies with Susan. However I only had my second one at the Corvallis birth center once I heard she had opened it. The environment between hospital and birth center was a big one. I was actually able to move around so much and I certainly did! Both were incredible experiences thanks to my body and Susan being there. I was able to drink a smoothie that Debbie made for me while I was in full-on labor which gave me the energy I needed. The team of midwives just create such a healthy environment where all faith is put into women to do the beautiful act of bringing life into the world. They provide both emotional and medical support and take it beyond what is even required in this field. They honestly just care immensely about people and it shows. The only true birth center in Corvallis- I would recommend it to anyone :)
This facility has been nothing but amazing to my family. My husband and I delivered our first child in a hospital, and were very disappointed with how the birth went. We had our next two children here, and have continually been blown away by the amount of compassion, consideration, dedication, gentleness, and camaraderie that we have found there. If you can, go here!!!! There are NO regrets, just gratitude!!!
I wanted a different experience than the hospital for my second birth and I am so happy I found Corvallis Birth & Womens Health Center! I had a beautiful, calm water birth and would recommended them to anyone. The midwives are all fantastic, and the postpartum care is phenomenal as well. If I have any more babies I will definitely be having them here.
I had my baby in July of 2020 but I still want to leave a good review because I had the best experience at this birth center. All the women are very caring and attentive. The facility is beautiful and cleanly. I’m so happy I had the opportunity to have my baby here. I love that there’s no unnecessary, invasive medical procedures. I had only good experiences with this place :)
From that first appointment, laying on that table hoping and praying that my baby had a heartbeat to the birth of my precious baby girl I felt so well taken care of. The woman at this center are so kind, knowledgeable, helpful and all around incredible people! I still get so emotional thinking about how amazing my pregnancy and birth experiences were and I truly owe that to these woman.Thank you for caring for me and my baby girl so well! Also, Im sitting here wanting to write a special thanks to specific midwifes but looking back each of you helped me so very much at different times so special shout out to each of you for being the best of the best 🙌I am soooo coming back for baby #2!!Thank you again, Im eternally grateful ♥️
Highly professional, deeply caring and personal prenatal, birth, and postpartum experience. In 2015 before Corvallis Birth and Womens Health Center (CBWHC) opened, I had an excellent experience with unmedicated water birth at Good Samaritan Hospital. Im pleased to share my recent CBWHC experience added to and improved on that significantly. I was excited when the birth center opened and happy to finally use their services when I became pregnant in 2020, having already received outstanding care from Susan and Debbie through Samaritan in 2015. The birth center approach is more relaxed, non-invasive, and personal than traditional clinics and the hospital but you get the professionalism and reassurance that comes from CNMs, a birth-specific facility, and staff with previous connection to the hospital. I had a beautiful water birth with my parents and husband present and went home within 10 hours of birth. The short after stay was my only concern with the birth center model, but I was given the time I needed after birth to recover and the home visits made up for it. The care I received from the midwives added to the joy of a significant life event. You can see the passion for womens care in all of the birth center staff. We especially appreciated being at CBWHC as we all navigated coronavirus times. We are continuing breastfeeding, pediatric, and OBGYN care here. It is so nice to have continuity in care and regularly revisit the room where my daughter was born. We are grateful for this wonderful place and these amazing ladies!**Logistics note. I like to know what something will cost ahead of time even if its a birth. Alice helped me navigate the insurance gauntlet and the birth center provided an estimate of costs early in my prenatal care.
Couldn’t be happier with my experience! My first son was born there 3 yrs ago - as a first time mom they were extra patient, kind and informational. I’m anticipating my second son to be born there in a few weeks and the second time around I have had just as an amazing as an experience as the first. They set themselves apart by their extra measures of kindness and being so relational. I’ve never felt like a number on a chart!
Awe inspiring women. Susan and crew are knowledgeable, take time to get to know you and your family, help you prepare for whatever experience your birth will be, and allow you to lead the way whenever possible. Plus, home visits following birth allowed me and my new family to settle in and not have to worry about transporting our tiny, little one around. HIGHLY recommend.
I had my second baby here in October 2021, I didnt want another hospital experience and Im so happy I switched! Love this place and the whole team and try to tell everyone about it! If youre on the fence, take the leap! Its so worth it.
I am filled with gratitude for all of the steps in bringing our little love into the world, from the initial visit to our ongoing care today. From the very beginning our questions and concerns were all met with openness and fullness. Thank you ladies for all you do to provide this incredibly important service to our community!!!
They clearly care about you/your holistic health. My doctor offered me a referral for a mental health practitioner if I had trouble getting one from my PCP. Lovely office and people!
Had my child here 4.5 years ago and it was such a magnificent experience.
