I let this go FAR too long. I need to speak up. 6-7 years ago (2016/2017) Dr. Schuster performed surgery on me. Many many issues.1st- I He talked me into an unnecessary surgery. I regret that choice every day since then.2. Every time he examined me he inappropriately stroked his hand down my thigh. Don’t need fireplace for a gynecologist exam! (He said it was so the lady wouldn’t be surprised at the touch. Gross.3. He treated me like a drug seeker. I had 10/10 pain after surgery. 12/10. Worst of my life. He told the night nurse not to give me extra. He told me that I couldn’t call him at night because of his brain injury from years ago he needs his sleep at night time. So the nurse couldn’t call him, and want authorized to give me meds. It was an insanely horrible experience. I spent the night clutching my hand held cross and crying to God.4. At my follow up appointment, he took out the catheter that had been in for 2 weeks and I peed. A good string pee. That pee ~7 years ago was the last C time I’ve had a pee that emptied my bowels. He put the sling in too tight and I my bladder can’t relax. I have been terrified to get it fixed. I finally got the courage to see a GYN about it and they wanted his records. I couldn’t believe he was still practicing. If he can’t accept a nighttime phone call about a post-op patient, he shouldn’t be doing surgeries.I agree with other commenters that he is a gaslighter. And he refuses to treat pain from his surgeries. Seriously? As if women get a surgery for the sake of drug seeking. It’s ridiculous. He’s totally disrespectful to women and looks down on them. Discriminating against them. If a man has the same trauma to their private and inwards I’m sure he’d load them up with morphine. Jerk. I’m still traumatized from that recovery.Stay FAR AWAY from this guy. You do not want him touching you. And if you do see him, at least get a second opinion before letting him cut it into you.BTW, I agree that when I first met him, he seemed knowledgeable and sweet. That’s how I fell into the trap of an unnecessary surgery. RUN. Run far and fast.(And, btw - the office can spare your reply of ‘call us’ to discuss. Stop covering for this guy who should have replied when he was first brain injured. He should tell patients about that BEFORE he touches them with a knife).Yes. I’m mad. And still have PTSD from him.
Best surgeon, hands down, but if you’re looking for sincere aftercare, you’ll be sadly letdown. He hung up on me at the 3.5 week mark assuming I was asking for narcotics (I have an arsenal of those, so no thank you I didn’t need your rx). This sent me to have the most horrific er experience Ive ever had, and at my 6 week checkup with him, he accused ME of hanging up on him, and I know when a landline slams down on a receiver. He also told me cysts on my ovary is normal. It’s not. Just bc it’s common, doesn’t mean it’s normal. Gaslighting besides being a type A surgeon is his forte, and I’m am so sad to hear stories from other women. It’s time to retire, doc. These millennials and younger aren’t picking up what you’re throwing down, and I will make it my mission to make sure you are not recommended. Google is free, we come educated, and you come gaslighting. Also, I thought it was inappropriate that your wife tried to friend me on Facebook that weekend, so I KNOW my medical history was spoken about. Good luck and I hope you retire soon. No woman needs to be treated by someone who doesn’t listen or have basic knowledge of how a woman feels, because you’re a man that doesn’t turn on his listening ears outside of your robot that you’re so proud of. Beware ladies. Run the opposite direction.PS. Instead of asking what happened at the ER—a visit that could’ve been completely avoided, he just said “I don’t want to involved with that drama.” YOU sir, caused the drama that could’ve been avoided. AND you knew you messed up by hanging up the phone because you called looking for me. So, you along with the staff there was reported to patient advocacy. But, you’re probably laughing because you know nothing will be done. We had so much respect for you, and not only am I healing physically, I’m having to heal mentally and emotionally as well. As a man of God that you proclaim yourself to be, this does NOT go down on your list of “good works,” and I hope you are in some form held accountable for your actions, or better yet, your lack of actions.
Dr.Shuster is a good caring physician. His staff is not welcoming at all and can’t seem to answer the phones to schedule appointments. I have worked in the Health field for many years. I have the unfortunate responsibility of turning patients over to collections. I never never do that until I have personally called to see if for some reason they missed a bill in the mail. I have never in my life been turned over to collections.NEVER! I paid on my bill and right after that received a collection notice. This is horrible customer service. You are not going to keep patients with that type of billing system. Don’t say you don’t have time to call patients because we have a lot more patients than you and I do them all.
Dr Schuster and his staff made me feel comfortable and welcomed! I saw him first in February 2022, had surgery a week later. He is very professional and explains everything where you can understand! No regrets going to him at all. He will be my doctor from here on out!
Great experience all around. Absolutely love dr Schuster. He makes you very comfortable to talk to him. Explains thing so you can understand. He truly cares about his patience. And his nurse Sara super sweet and returns my calls very quickly. And she worked to help me with my needs. A+++ all around!!!
I would give a rating review of ten stars and more if possible for Doctor Mitchell Schuster as well as his staff. He is my doctor. He is one of the very best surgeons I’ve met since I moved here fifteen years ago.He truly cares about his patient’s well being.Thank you Dr.Schuster for everything you’ve done for me.
Dr. Schuster is amazing and I really feel he is one of the best physicians in Morgan County. Sadly his staff lack in follow-up calls.Next step, is going to the hospital’s Medical Director and my insurance company.Shame on his staff.
Review is of office staff, not Dr. Schuster. Today is Wednesday. I have been trying since Thursday of last week to get a prescription refilled for my mother who is a patient of Dr. Schuster. I left a detailed voicemail, as prompted by their phone system, last Thursday. I spoke with an individual who works in the office on Monday and Tuesday of this week, and we still have no prescription refill. I have asked for a call back from the nurse but heard nothing. The office claims that they tried to call my mother but left no voicemail.
Dr Shuster definitely makes you feel that your questions and concerns matter. He is very knowledgeable and he takes time to break down anything you may need to know. I love his nursing staff. The waiting room is very nice and comfortable, as well as the wait. I will definitely recommend him to anyone, that needs a good doctor!
I have been a patient of Dr. Schusters for 25+ years. He is as genuine as they come. Most Drs nowadays are only in the field for the money and it shows. Dr. Schuster is truly 100% in the practice for the patient. He actually really cares and always treats his patients as if they are his only patient. This is only one of his qualities that sets him above all others.
I was referred to Dr. Schuster from my OBGYN for some issues I was having. He was amazing. Very informative on what, and WHY I was going through the urinary pain I’ve had. Very prompt, friendly, informative, and I swear he’s the flash. He would apologize for a wait, but I’d only been waiting maybe 5-10 minutes. Which is significantly less than atny doctor I’ve ever seen. He’s really nice and does a thorough job. He’s by far one of the best and most professional doctors I’ve ever seen in any field. Great job Dr. Schuster! You deserve the highest pay in your field!
I took my 65 year old sister into the Drs. Office to see the doctor 2 weeks ago. Her bladder is out of her body. They were going to turn her away saying she didnt have an appointment because someone didnt do their job. Her records are still at the old office that he moved from a month ago. The doctor saw how bad she was and 2 weeks later she still is not on the list to have surgery. Wake up folks, what does it take?
Great customer service! From the front desk personnel to back medical stations/offices in the complex, this group is phenomenal! Dr. Schuster is very detail oriented & certainly makes patients feel welcomed, comfortable & satisfied. I’m VERY pleased with my experience.
He has an excellent bedside manner, the nurse actually remembered everything we covered on the phone over a month ago. He made a point to try to get to the root of my issue. The front desk was short with people and rude but he and the nurse more than made up for it. I will go back for specialty needs.
Found the cause of MANY problems I had been having and got me scheduled for surgery within a very short amount of time. Has an excellent bedside manner as well. Makes you feel at ease, as much as possible. Would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.
I am amazed at all these great reviews; however I see they are mainly for the doctor. I saw Ms. Renford. I guess Im just unlucky. She was very inconsiderate and particularly nosey about my klonopin usage instead of focusing on my gynecological needs. I am trying to get an endomentrial ablation for the pain and sense of not knowing that comes along with my periods during middle age but I guess she isnt interested in treating me. She stated my insurance would deny it, but I called them and they said no such thing. I was told that I would have to try B.C. or IUD first. I then explained that I cant take BC because in the past has cause severe depression and bleeding. I also explained that I will not use an IUD. So I guess that is it then. She went directly into denying me care because the insurance wouldnt pay for it and didnt so much as offer to do an ultra sound to see if there was an issue. I should report you! Ms. Bethel Rendrow, NP.
Very pleased with Dr. Schuster and his very nice nurse Coker.
