The practice is excellent. I have known Dr.Gross over 24 yrs. She delivered both of my children and she is very professional, knowledgeable and personable, she cares about her patients. She is topnotch, one of the best in the field. By the grace of God she has always taken very good care of me to make sure that I have had the very best medical care and I appreciate and adore her for what she does.
My wife visits Dr Owunna for her routine check at this location. They have long wait time so be prepared. The staff is very helpful. As per her experience, Dr. Owunna was just as warm and professional as any new patient could hope for. She addressed all her concerns and made her felt comfortable. All of the ladies in the office made a great impression and make a great team.Would recommend this location.
I’m not sure how to put into words our experience with Dr Owunna and the practice. I was quite specific in choosing my next OB knowing it would hopefully be the doctor to help deliver our baby. The moment I met Dr Owunna, I felt at ease: She is truly the most warm and welcoming doctor I’ve ever met. The other doctors in the practice are equally as amazing as well as the staff who are always on the same page with one another Fast forward to delivery, I was fortunate to have Dr Owunna on call the weekend our baby decided to arrive. the entire birthing experience was amazing all due to the care i received. I write this with tears in my eyes and a smile on my face, I could not have asked for a better doctor and woman to guide me and encourage me. Dr Owunna was not only my doctor but my cheerleader. There was a reason she delivered 8 babies the day I did and that’s because she is a woman you want to be around and have on your side. I can’t recommend Dr Owunna and the office enough, and I am forever grateful I was blessed enough to have had her deliver our baby boy.
Dr. Owunna is EXCELLENT!!! I continue to go there because of her. The nursing staff are great also!! The clerical staff not so much. They take forever to answer the phone, if they do at all. I called because I ran into a traffic backup. No one answered the phone but I got a message saying to leave a message and someone would get back to me in a day or two. This is outrageous.
I had a great visit with Dr. Brown. She listened carefully to my concerns and I felt like she really tried to get to know me as this was the first time I met with her. She offered helpful suggestions and explained everything she was doing. She’s top notch as are all the staff.!!
Dr. Owunna makes me feel seen as a patient and as a woman of color. She validates my feelings and concerns and connects with me throughout the medical process. Shes extremely thoughtful, concerned and is an excellent practitioner. Im grateful that she is leading my care!
I have been a patient at OB-GYN of East Brunswick for about a year now, and I recently delivered my second baby with them. Throughout my time here, I have seen all of the doctors, and they are all incredibly pleasant and great. My experience has been wonderful from start to finish, and I continue to see them for my ongoing appointments. I definitely recommend OB-GYN of East Brunswick to anyone looking for top-notch care.
Even after a scheduling conflict, the staff was more than accommodating in making sure that I’d still be seen on my scheduled appointment date. The receptionists are friendly and the physicians are personable, thorough and easy to talk to. As a physician myself, I trust this practice with my health and am thankful for the great care that I’ve received from Ob/Gyn of EB since I was a teenager.
My first positive obgyn experience in a long time. I didn’t wait long and my provider really listened and addressed all my problems. Definitely recommend this practice
Paperwork was sent electronically prior to the visit. Check in was smooth. Nurses we attentive and skilled. Dr. Gross was gentle and efficient. I have been going here for years and love the practice.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about this practice. They are so caring, kind and helpful. They saw me through both deliveries for my kiddos and I highly recommend this OB office.
Absolutely wonderful! Never have a bad experience coming here. The entire staff is we very welcoming and accommodating. The doctors are amazing and very knowledgeable on whatever your concerns may be. They make me feel completely comfortable every time I have my visits and really appreciate their work ethic. I would recommend any woman to come here and you will receive the best service.
Dr.Brown was very knowledgeable and caring for my first time visit. Ive been looking for a woman DR of color and I believe I have found the one. I would highly recommend her and the office. The ladies were all very sweet and warming.
The office and exam rooms are very clean. The staff, Doctors and assistants are professional. They will help, advise and answer any questions you may have.I have been going to this facility for a very long time.Thank you, for all that you do for your patience.
Dr. Gross provides an exceptional level of care. Not only has she been my Obgyn, she is now caring for my daughter. I know we are in good hands!
I nearly lost my life 3 weeks postpartum because of Dr. Abigail Gleason and whoever was on-call on Sunday, March 3, 2024. Due to their practices policy, you cant choose who will deliver your baby. I thought this would be fine since I had a low-risk pregnancy, but boy was I wrong.First of all, my husband did not like Dr. Gleason because he felt she had an attitude and treated me like a burden when I was having our baby. I admittedly didnt notice this because I was busy laboring and pushing.Three weeks later, I called this office in tears because I was having horrible pain and chills. Dr. Gleason came on the line and asked if I could come in in 2 hours. I said no, it really hurts NOW. She said, all right then.In the office, I ended up having to wait 2 hours anyway. I was crying and shivering the whole time. None of the staff at the front desk showed me any empathy. I asked one of them if she could estimate how much longer it would be; she said no. Its not a privacy violation to share how many patients are in the queue, so I dont know why she refused. I was very anxious about when I would get to breastfeed my baby, who was waiting in the car with my husband. This practice doesnt allow children of any age inside their offices, which is inconvenient for parents who are breastfeeding or have multiple children.Dr. Gleason examined the source of my pain, which was a hard bump at my labia, and said she did not know what it was. As for my fever and chills, she asked what temperature fever I had. I said I didnt manage to grab a thermometer, but I know a fever when I have one. She advised me to take more Motrin and sitz baths, and to call back in 4 days (on Monday) if I still felt unwell. Attached is a screenshot of my post-visit summary for proof.Three days later (on Sunday), I called and said I still had pain and chills, plus extreme dizziness and inability to eat. The answering service said the on-call doctor would call me back.I took matters into my own hands and went to the ER. There, the doctors found that the hard lump at my labia was an abscess, or a buildup of bacteria. I had sepsis, DIC (disseminated intravascular coagulation), multiple internal blood clots, heart failure, kidney failure, difficulty breathing, and a host of other problems. They said if I hadnt gone to the ER that day, I would have passed in my sleep that night. My milk dried up, and due to the heart failure, it was not advisable for me to continue breastfeeding anyway. I had to stay in the hospital for 4 weeks.Oh, and the on-call doctor never did call me back.Dr. Gleason should have been proactive about my unclear abscess and fever. If I had started antibiotics or gone to the ER 3 days earlier, my situation would not have gotten so dire. I wouldnt have needed emergency surgery, a 6-week antibiotics course, 8 dialysis sessions, physical therapy, and countless blood draws. I wouldnt have missed a month with my 5-year-old son and newborn daughter, or need to spend thousands of dollars on formula. I wouldnt need to be on blood thinners still, or (potentially) beta blockers for the rest of my life.Definitely do not recommend.
I highly recommend Ob/Gyn of East Brunswick. My experience has been very positive. Aside from one of scheduling people who was a bit grouchy, most of the people there are extremely professional and nice. Dr Goupta is awesome and I totally trust her expertise!
Dr. Brown is very kind and patient with me. I tend to get very nervous about this yearly visit, but she makes it so much better. Highly recommend her and this office!
Very thorough, informative and my favorite is always on time. I never had to wait for the doctor or procedures. It’s very well organized.
If I could give 0 stars I would. This place has by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced. If you’re looking for a place that’s going to change your appointment time without notice to totally inconvenience you, this is the place! And, if you’re looking for a place that’s going to be packed like sardines every time you show up for an appointment, then have you waiting to be seen by a doctor for 45 minutes only to be rushed through your appointment, you’ve come to the right place!! Even the nurses on the phone are extremely rude. Here I am, At 6 weeks pregnant, suffering from HG, they made a mistake and did not send in approval for a prescription that I needed. My pharmacy followed up for 2 days and when I called to see if the issue could be amended, the nurse was extremely passive and told me I’d just have to wait until Monday; mind you it is Friday. When I tried to ask if there was anything that could be done, because I am dehydrated and cannot keep any food or liquid down, the nurse on the phone completely yelled at me. Just rude and disrespectful. And now my only option is to go to the ER because they failed to send in my prescription for approval on time. And this is supposed to be an all female team? They don’t value females very much. I am so happy that I will not be choosing this place to care for me and deliver my child.
Dr. Brown was very attentive and throughout the appointment remained engaged. I did not feel rushed and was very pleased with my consultation!
Dr Owunna is awesome! Thank you so much for your expertise and for making a visit to the Gyn very pleasant. Office staff was efficient and friendly.
I have been going to the East Brunswick OB/GYN Over 18 years. The reputation still remains the same. Staff, professional and courteous.Dr Owunna, Is incredible There are no words to describe her knowledgeable professional care. When it comes to questions concerns, Dr Owunna possesses a certain etiquette between Dr and patient That can only be found in someone who truly loves their profession and takes it very serious.Dr Owunna listens and responds with gentle kindness and efficient all around care.Highly recommend.Thank you To the entire team at the east Brunswick OB/GYN
Dr Owuna is amazing. I have seen her for both my deliveries and I have had only positive experiences with her. She is an asset and an amazing provider!
On top of the hour wait every time , if you get seen (and that’s with an appointment) they do not care to listen. How can they when the doctor only schedules 10 minutes. I went 3 times, with breast cancer concerns. 3 different doctors. Doctor 1: “stop drinking coffee “. I do not drink coffee. Doctor 2: “this is normal, I feel normal breast tissue all day” Doctor 3: “ you’re too young, in fact insurance won’t even cover a mamo… but here you go anyway so you can get over this” within an hour of that mamo I was on a path to cancer treatment. 3 doctors told me to my face that this is not THEIR experience so it must be in my head. And I did go back, stupid me, I know. And they don’t even ask or mention my breast health because “that’s taken care of elsewhere “. I won’t be back thankfully I was able to find a true professional and human. These are the people bringing life into the world , I see how they tray expecting mothers at my appointment. It seems that when you bring some up it’s an inconvenience to them. Beware, they are not interested in your health… too much extra work I suppose. They missed my cancer over and over when all they had to do was listen. But I was out down and made to feel crazy because “boy, women’s hormones make them crazy” said the last doctor that missed it and didn’t believe me. Thanks OBGYN of EB.. stellar care
Love this one stop for annual exam and mammography! Very efficient and quick. The long wait for my annual was made up by the mammography appt.
Dr. Owunna was just as warm and professional as any new patient could hope for. She addressed all of my concerns and made me very comfortable with her feedback. She is a knowledgeable resource and my new doctor worries were put at ease. I look forward to the ongoing years of trusting her with my care.I was also able to complete my overdue mammogram at the office with Robin who was wonderful at making an uncomfortable process bearable. All of the ladies in the office made a great impression and make a great team.
Forever grateful to all the doctors here. Dr. Owunna delivered my son 14 yrs ago, but I’ve had my annual appointments with all the doctors. Dr. Gross is compassionate and will address your concerns. I trust this practice and highly recomnend.
Dr. Owunna has the best bed side manners. She has been my Doctor for at least 15 years and I’m so grateful for her. Her attention to detail and her knowledge are amazing. Thank you Dr. Owunna, you are the best! 🙏🏾❤️I would also like to thank the medical team and staff there. They also make my experience nice.
I’ve been using this group for 19 years.I never feel rushed, my concerns are always addressed.I’ve visited both the East Brunswick and Piscataway offices. They were always clean and the office staff is always pleasant and helpful.I highly recommend this practice.
Dr. Uzoma was extremely patient and warm. Gave me lots of health tips… im never going to any other doctor.. thank you so much… stella from awka, anambra state
Dr. Gupta is an amazing doctor and and incredible person. She is so dedicated, gives us as much attention as we need. I totally recommend her.All the employees are awesome. Very polite, respectful, responsible and friendly.I am very pleased and happy with them.
Easy check in. Taken on time. Ive been seeing Dr. Gross for the last 38 years. Very easy to talk to.
Thank you too Dr Gupta for her professionalism , knowledge , patience & kindness she expressed to me as a patient.Zoeanne Beaton
Heard great things about Dr. Owunna and was excited to see her however never even had a chance because of this offices shady policy. Two days before my first appointment someone from finance calls me and tells me that my insurance covers everything but that at 12 weeks we’re going to have to pay our $1500 deductible for the birth. I asked her how they can take money for services yet rendered and she proceeded to say that’s the office policy. I’ve never heard of such a thing. This office wants to be the first who gets their hands on your deductible. I don’t even know how that would work with the insurance company since the services weren’t even completed yet. It seemed very sketchy so I cancelled my appointment and found another ob.The only thing I can commend them for is calling me in advance and explaining this weird policy to me so that I wasn’t caught by surprised at my 12 weeks.
First time here the staff is super polite and sweet. The facility is very clean and well kept. Inna Kremen PA is very thorough, patient, and kind. I highly recommend this Group.
Having been a loyal patient of this practice for nearly two decades, I am deeply disappointed to witness the drastic decline in service quality since its takeover by Axia. The once-decent personal practice has transformed into what I can only describe as a corporate disaster. My recent experience at the office was nothing short of infuriating. I was denied treatment because I chose not to wear a mask while not exhibiting any symptoms. While I understand the importance of health and safety measures, its troublesome to see a medical practice prioritize rigid policies over individual circumstances. Moreover, the fact that masks are not legally mandated but merely recommended makes the denial even more perplexing. The most unsettling aspect of this encounter was the conduct of the office manager. Her behavior was not only unprofessional but downright inappropriate. Instead of fostering a respectful and understanding environment, she chose to engage in actions that left me questioning the integrity of the entire office. A manager should uphold a level of decorum that reflects positively on the practice, but this was not the case. Its evident that the transition to corporate management has negatively impacted the once-personal and patient-focused nature of this practice. The shift in priorities from individual care to strict adherence to policies is disheartening. Patients should not feel alienated or mistreated, especially after years of loyalty to a practice.I STRONGLY urge those considering this practice to be cautious and to evaluate whether the current management aligns with their expectations for personalized and respectful healthcare. Sadly, my long-standing relationship with this practice has been marred by this unfortunate corporate turn, leaving me with no choice but to explore alternative healthcare providers who prioritize patient-centric care over rigid policies.
Dr. Owunna is great, she listens, she doesn’t rush you, I feel very comfortable having her as my doctor but have had to see the other doctors in the practice at least once and they are pleasant as well. Im 37 weeks pregnant currently and have had a pleasant experience so far. The office staff is nice with the exemption of one person who isn’t as friendly as most. Wait time is very good haven’t had to wait more than 10-15 min to be seen when I’ve had a scheduled appointment.
Dr. Owunna is warm, kind and technically excellent. I can’t imagine a better health care provider.
Haven’t had the best experience., Doctor ask to do ultrasound on emergency for 9 months pregnant women since baby is not moving properly, Ultrasound lady keep asking to wait more even after waiting 1 hr. 15 minutes. So arrogantly says you need to wait else talk to front desk.I won’t recommend this place they don’t treat good you if your different ethnicity.
Dr Owunna thoroughly explained my bone density results showing osteoporosis! She listened intently to my concerns! Gave me the options & why? She is so competent, caring & easy to talk to! Feel very lucky to have her as my Doctor!
Visited the clinic for Urinary infection. Both the staff and Doctor made me comfortable right from the start. The doctor asked a lot of questions and explained everything in detail. Also the doctor was kind enough to spend extra time to listen to other general health queries and doubts.Been to this practice years ago during my pregnancy and it was always amazing to have been under their care. And it is the same experience now after 8 years again. Thank you team!
Inna was a pleasure. I’m new to the office & she answered all my concerns. However the wait time 30+ mins before I was called for my appointment (not including me arriving 10 mins early). Everytime I call I cannot get through to the office for scheduling, especially on a Friday.
The best OB-GYN office! Everyone is so nice and personable and the medical staff take their time with you for appointments as well you dont feel rushed very caring and compassionate. Wait time is minimal as well.
Had mixed experiences with this office. The doctors are good - especially Dr. Owunna and Dr. Brown. They are very caring, compassionate, and take time to explain things to you. I received good and thorough prenatal care and it was generally easy to schedule prenatal appointments. However, the wait times at the office can be extremely long - I have waited 45 minutes before for a routine prenatal check in, and on average wait at least 20 min. Around the holidays, I had to go elsewhere for a routine ultrasound because they got all booked up, which cost more through my insurance. Additionally, they do not allow you to bring any children to the office, including the baby they delivered, for your postpartum check up. At my postpartum check up, they recommended I schedule an annual visit 3 months out. When I arrived for that appointment, I waited 30 minutes before being told that it hadn’t been long enough since my last pap (which was with them) so insurance wouldn’t cover my visit and I would have to come back another time. This was extremely inconvenient as I had to arrange childcare to come to the appointment.Overall, if you’re looking for a practice with an all female staff and competent doctors, I would choose them, but know you will likely have to wait a lot and there may be scheduling hiccups. I moved out of the area so have left the practice.
It is so hard to make an appointment. Showed up to my appointment I made 3 months earlier just to have the front desk tell me the doctor doesn’t have enough time to see me. No earlier notifications. In fact, got texts from the office confirming that my appointment is booked. Cancelled because the doctor doesn’t have enough time to see patients for their scheduled appointments. They only schedule you for a 10 minute slot!
I have been going to this practice and the one in Piscataway for about 3 years. The staff and doctors and always friendly and welcoming. They listen to any issues i have and actually listens. I wished I had found them when I was pregnant with my first child because I had a horrible experience with the other doctor. Dr. Owunna especially have been very helpful and is really personable. I came in today so stressed and she really lifted my spirits. I would not go to any other practice.
Excellent Women’s Health Care from Dr.Owunna! She’s knowledgeable, and a great listener. Dr. Owunna really “sees” you as a whole person - not just her next patient!
Omg Dr Owunna was EXCELLENT, very pleasant, down to earth.. She was literally so nice as if weve known each other forever. Very professional, makes you feel so safe and comfortable. I totally forgot I was there for a consult... I have no worries being under her care....Loved her💕
This was my first visit to this practice. Everyone was super professional; from booking the appointments for both the OB/GYN and mammogram to checking in on the actual day. My physician Dr. Owunna had the best bedside manner and the consultation was not rushed. The nurse assisting her was equally pleasant. Being able to complete my mammogram at the sister facility at the same time was an added plus. Highly recommend. You would feel at home at this facility
The staff is efficient and attentive. I have to be patient to schedule as my doctor has many in her care, but it’s worth it to me. Dr. Owunna is gentle, personable and very capable. She puts me at ease.
Dr. Brown was very caring, she took the time to listen to my concerns and explained everything to me very well.
Literally the only OB GYN suite of doctors who dont let kids get inside.please plan childcare before you enter their office. Worst!!!
The front desk staff was very friendly, along with the medical assistant and nurse. The energy in that office made me feel very welcomed. The nurse explained everything thoroughly and any concerns I had she addressed them. I will be returning to my new home. Thank you!
Asked for an appointment for pre natal. Next available was 2 months (June). That’s a long wait but I figure I could do it. One week before the appointment, I got a phone call that there’s an emergency and the doctor has to cancel. The next available with her would be in August. That really made me angry because I have waited 2 months for the appointment but I understand emergency happens. What I don’t understand is the person who called has a complete lack of empathy and did not apologize or sound apologetic for canceling. If anything, she has an attitude.I ended up choosing a different doctor from the same clinic, but that still pushes my appointment to July. Ughhhh!I had been there before for annual check up and it’s not really much better. The staff and doctor sometimes are colder than I would like. The nurse who answers your questions on the phone lacks empathy too. She was harsh on the phone. So far this chain of office shows me that I am a number. A problem to deal with. Not a person seeking health care. If you are ok with that, you won’t be disappointed.I think I’m going to cancel this altogether. They are too busy/mechanical for me.
Love this practice. Everyone has great bedside manner. Will come to them forever.
Dr. Gupta is very personable and accommodating. This so rare to see. Normally doctors have you in and out like an assembly line. Dr. Gupta is so refreshing and rare in the medical profession. I would definitely recommend her.
Absolutely love this practice. The front office is very courteous and excellent at scheduling, rarely a wait! Dr Owunna is fabulous, so knowledgeable and empathetic. I could not ask for a better gyno. Can’t recommend her high enough, truly 10 stars!
I have been a patient of OBGYN of East Brunswick for almost 30 years, I started with Dr.Akawie who made me feel comfortable. He then retired and I started seeing Dr.Owunna . I have been with her ever since. Dr. Owunna is amazing!!! She is caring and attentive. Dr.Owunna has also cared for my 3 daughters. I highly recommend her and her practice.
Great experience at my first Mammogram this morning. Michele was lovely. She talked me through the entire procedure and really helped to reduce anxiety. Would highly recommend!
They are the worst! Dont come here, the women that run this place are bitter and dont care about taking care of your needs. I always have to wait hours even when I make it to my appointment on time, but the one time Im a few minutes late they couldnt squeeze me in for my annual, an appointment that takes 15 minutes! I explained to them that I had driven 45 minutes to get to them and they turned me away. Ive also been waiting for this appointment for 3 months since theyre always so booked.
Axia Womens Health is one of the best OB/GYN provider in East Brunswick and Piscatawy, NJ. Dr. Gupta, I cant thank you enough for the special, excellent and professional care you and your staff have provided during my visits. I am so blessed that you are my gynecologist. I have great confidence in you and your abilities. Thank you so much for the great care youre provided me.Frances B.
Never a bad experience. Love Dr. Gross. Now that Mammo done right there it’s even better.
Doctor and staff was very nice and professional. They made me feel very comfortable and knowledgeable. I received a mammogram. It went really well. Technician was very friendly and answered all my questions. I would definitely recommend their services.
My visit to OB/GYN of East Brunswick was relatively quick and pleasant considering I was there for my annual check up. The staff were accomdating, professional and friendly which made the routine visit even more bearable. I was very pleased to learn that I could have my 3D Mammogram done at the same location. They were so accommodating that I was able to schedule my mammogram the same day. Two very important and necessary doctors appointments in one day. I am very happy with my service today.
The East Brunswick location have the nicest staff.. They will make you feel at ease. Dr. Gupta and Owunna are both awesome! The tech that did my mammogram was also wonderful! Very friendly and helpful!
After going to this office for a few years now I have had numerous bad experiences with the staff and the bedside manners! The nurses are always awesome and patient! Today I went in for my annual visit I saw the nurse practitioner at the Eb office . Which I called for weeks since I was late for my period and never got a person in the office until they called me about my annual visit. While I had scheduled my appointment I let them know that I was having issues in terms of a possible loss of a pregnancy and had further questions about some fertility issues. A few years ago I would say about 2 I was told by another nurse practitioner in this office that my hormones are abnormal and that I may have issues becoming pregnant as I have many indications that PCOS can be a possibility for me . After finding this out I have become worried that if or when I decide it is the right time to get pregnant I may have issues getting pregnant since certain hormone abnormalities are present . As soon as I came in I let them know I had gone to another office to get an ultrasound and some blood work to check on things since I may have lost a pregnancy a few days prior and they could not take me any sooner. I also told the girl I scheduled the appointment with that was a possibility for me! They first said how this was an annual and we are supposed to have only 15 minutes and we are now at 25 in a rude tone. She then said I am young and should not be thinking about this. Next I started asking about the best steps to fix my hormone imbalances for when I am officially ready to try with my now partner. I felt completely dismissed and was told that I am young and have no reason to ask because I am not trying RIGHT NOW when I stated I planned on trying within the next year or so and this is an annual visit . I tried explaining that this office had told me at past appointments this can be an issue for me. She made me feel as though because I am young I do not need to be having kids. Which is crazy because it’s always my body my choice until a young self sufficient female wants to have a kid before 30! I feel as though they press birth control and decide to avoid the topic of my concerns every time I am there. Granted we were only supposed to have so much time but while scheduling I let them know my situation and my concerns so that should have been accounted for in this appointment . It seemed as though they were mad I had fertility questions when I mentioned this on the phone . I addressed the nurse practitioner and stated that I felt dismissed and disrespected multiple times in this office for having concerns for fertility at a young age when they have told me themselves I May have issues . She tried to be nicer once I told her how rude they have been in the past and told me I took her the wrong way. Which is weird because how else can you take that other then she thinks because I am young it is not the time. My partner is older and we have talked about this and we are ready within the next year or so to try. I was just asking questions about what they have stated to me in the past. As them dealing with pregnant women on a daily basis you would assume they would be more sensitive that I just lost a pregnancy a few days ago and try to make me feel better about future pregnancy but it was the opposite I was told I was lucky that I even realized I miscarried. This is now the 3rd time I have left one of their offices in tears ! Other things have happened at other offices ! I am surprised they even have patients anymore after all the bad horror stories I’ve heard about them!
Great group of doctors at this practice. Special shout-out to Dr. Gupta who is very personable, thorough, and happily answers all my questions. She puts my mind at ease. The only negative is that it’s sometimes hard to reach someone on the appointment line but luckily I don’t live far and can just drop in and speak with someone directly.
I have been their patient for many years. Everyone is caring. The doctors, women which I prefer, are professional yet converse like girlfriends. In fact when I appoint, I dont have a professional preference. I like all the doctors so I take first available. The only downside is they are busy, but respect your appoint time, so you need to call several months in advance for a routine appointment. Highly recommended!
Dr. Gupta is the best! Ive been with her for years. Shes kind, caring and awesome! Friendly office also! Highly recommend.
I Have been a patient for over 20 years experiencing child birth thru menopause with virtually the same doctors. The overall experience from doctors care as well as the efficient staff is and has always been comfortable, reassuring and accommodating. I highly recommend this OBGYN practice for all your needs.
Haven’t had the best experience. They are very disorganized, and chaotic, keeps rescheduling and cancelling appointments, scheduling me in the wrong office, not telling me anything about what’s going on after first ultrasound. I am a doctor myself, and this is so hectic. I can’t imagine how other patients feel.
They are THE WORST. I went for my annual visit for the first time as a new patient. Weve talked about different things like my secondary infertility and I asked her to prescribe an ointment for my vaginal area as it sometimes itches and bothers me. There was NOTHING going on at that time. She said its not a solution to keep using an ointment but she prescribed one. I havent even gotten the medicine from the pharmacy. Turned out she wrote she noticed a rash and they charged me $15 Copay! This is rediculous you cannot talk about anything with your Dr when you go for your annual exam or else youll be charged.
Staff is wonderful and courteous. The doctor was very thorough. A little rough for me, but I was not very clear about my specific issues In all fairness
Started coming to this office in April for my first pregnancy, all the Drs are extremely nice and I dont have a single complaint about them. Dr. Gupta is Amazing and I just adore her Energy. Dr. Brown, Dr. Ouwunna are all great as well. Any thing I have needed or asked for has been answered and explained throughly. Its so nice to go to a practice thats been so welcoming. I also love that you get to see all the different Drs so you are comfortable with all of them and not surprised when you give birth if your particular Dr is not on call. I work in Healthcare and understand there has been a deficit with staffing and office wait times can be a hit or miss but I truly think this office has tried there best to manage any issues. I highly recommend them.
I have been going here for years, the Doctors are knowledgeable and professional. The staff is organized and courteous as well. No complaints here!
Very knowledgeable Doctors are working here. They value their patients. They follow up for our unscheduled annuals and remind us. So friendly front desk staff.
Dr. Owuna is the BEST doctor. She is so caring and compassionate. She is very professional and knowledgeable. It’s no surprise she is a very popular doctor, and I’m so happy she’s my doctor.
The staff, nurses and Doctors are very efficient and knowledgeable. I had my first visit with Dr owunaa. She is very good Doctor, makes you feel comfortable, listens patiently and give answers to all the questions.
My visit with Dr. Gross was excellent. She was very thorough with my examination. She was helpful, courteous, kind and understanding of my needs. I would definitely recommend her for your OB/GYN needs.
Extremely well run office! Staff is friendly & efficient! Dr. Owunna is a stand-out! Knowledgeable, caring, compassionate & explains things in a way that is easy to understand! You feel like you are in the right place & right hands! Would highly recommend!
Long wait to get into the exam room. Had an 11:00 appointment. Didn’t get into exam room for almost 45 minutes past my appointment time. Met the new PA at the practice. She was lovely. Warm, caring and took her time. Definitely a good addition to the practice.
Dr. Owunna is amazing. It’s always a pleasure to see her!!
Today was my first visit at this office . Wait time to be called in was good. Nice friendly nurse who checked my weight, blood pressure etc. The nurse practitioner Danielle was also very nice, friendly and funny. She had a great bedside manner and I felt comfortable and at ease. Upon exiting I received a future script and the woman there was very nice and welcomed me to the practice. Only negative if any, was the first person I saw to check and give insurance info wasn’t as pleasant. I’m happy to say I found my new OB/GYN .
I had my first prenatal appointment at OBGYN of East Brunswick today and was very pleased with the visit. The front desk was nice and I was called in for my appointment within 15 minutes of arrival. Dr. Gleason was very informative and answered all my questions, she asked if I had further questions multiple times which made me feel like I wasn’t being rushed through the visit. The nurses were also very nice and helpful. Overall it was a very good first visit.
Everyone in this office is always so friendly and attentive to your needs. I’ve had 3 babies and have been going for my annual exams for the past 10 years. I always feel like I am a priority. Every doctor takes the time to answer all of my questions and ensures I understand their response. They are simply the best!
After relocating I needed to find a new practice and google pointed me to this amazing place. The staff is kind, patient and on top of everything. Dr. Gupta is the absolute best! She is thorough, honest and genuinely cares about your health and pregnancy journey. Thank you to this incredible team!
The office staff is very friendly. Dr. Owunna is amazing. She provided options for managing my menopause my previous Dr. I’ve been seeing for the past 4 years. Dr. Owunna is knowledgeable, has great bedside manner and a beautiful personality. She made my experience with expressing all of my concerns so easy. I would recommend Dr. Owunna to any woman who is looking for a Dr. that listens to your concerns and needs options in managing menopause and it’s severe symptoms.I had been going to an alternate place for my mammograms and it was always a juggle to get it scheduled before my GYN visit and then making sure the office had the mammo results by appointment time.So this most recent visit I was offered the mammo service right I after my GYN appointment. I was so glad. One stop shop. It’s a bit of a drive for me but I am a firm believer, to go where you can get excellent care. Unfortunately not all doctors you need with excellent care and skill can be found “ around the corner” from you.
Great service in and out in a reasonable amount of time
All of the Doctors, Nurses and staff are friendly, respectful and informative. Ive been using this practice for 20+ years and have delivered 2 babies with them. 10/10 would recommend.
The doctor guides us really well. She listens to us patiently & thoroughly. I really liked her way of treating.
This practice is awesome! The staff is friendly courteous, efficient and makes your visit a very pleasant experience. Dr.Manjari Gupta is an outstanding OB-gyn physician. She is very caring , always takes time to talk with you. She is very competent and thorough in her exam . Her concern and caring comes through immediately. Definitely a 10! Hard to find all those qualities in a physician today. Thankful to have her as my physician!
I have been checking up with them since 2020 and they have the best set of doctors ! They guide you properly and the knowledge shared by them is good enough !! They keep you well informed and they are nicest to you !!
First time meeting Dr. Brown and I really liked her. Would definitely see her again. Very personable. Staff also friendly and professional.
Great staff! Everyone is super nice and understanding. Doctors are amazing and really listen to your concerns. Been going here for years and will continue to keep going.
Dr. Gupta is a thorough and personable dr. She will take the time to listen to you and follow up on your next visit. I recently moved out of the area but will continue to travel 40 minutes to see her. I would highly recommend her.
Currently a pregnant patient here and I don’t understand the high reviews I am seeing . My experience so far as been traumatizing. Horrible customer support/ service ( in reference to the front desk) and very hurried patient care with the doctors . I promised myself i will only write this review after I am done with them… because I need it to be detailed and with all the information/ evidences I have gathered and I also want to write a review without it being sentimental. Therefore I will be back .Three stars because I have other okay reasons too.
This review is not for any specific doctor. This review is for the office/front desk people, who take the calls for scheduling appointments. I called here multiple times this week to get an appointment, but no luck. Every time, it either goes to voicemail or, they pickup and put me on hold immediately and then cut the call. I would like an answer on how to get an appointment at this place.
Love my nurse practitioner Adiya OmeedShe was great! She listened to me and gave me super great advice. Can not wait to see her next year for my annual exam.
I have been coming here for about 10 years now. I had come for regular yearly appointments with no issues before. Today I went in for a pregnancy appointment and after this I will never return to this facility. First, I called in January to make an appointment for when my insurance would start in February. However, I was unable to make the appointment until my insurance actually started in February. The person who helped me with this was amazing and friendly and tried to help me but couldn’t with this policy. I finally call back February 1st and was able to make the appointment, thinking I’m 13 weeks at this point. I go into my appointment today and found out I was 15 weeks. I was beyond excited and actually cried to see my baby was healthy because this has been very stressful waiting, particularly because my family has history of high risk, including my sibling. The ultrasound technician was great and actually checked and told me the doctor would be able to see me right then before my next appointment (since this was an ultrasound appointment). I was so happy because I had so many questions given this is my first child and the family history I have as well as how far along I am.I was eager to meet the doctor and immediately disappointed. Dr. Gleason came in and mentioned I was 15 weeks, I jokingly said yes which is great, two more weeks down! She responded with saying “well, you missed the screening for abnormalities, that was supposed to be in the first trimester, you know 13 weeks” with complete rudeness. I immediately felt awful, like she was already telling me I’m a bad mother and that it was my fault for not having insurance. She then told me my next appointment would be bloodwork and if I had any questions. I replied that I actually had a lot of questions, to which she said “well most of them you’ll have to ask at the next appointment because I’m not even supposed to be seeing you right now” which I did not at all understand because I was literally told they would see me today since I was far along, why else was I in the room with her then? So I said okay, asked one of my questions, to which she interrupted very rudely and insinuated for me to get to the point. So I did. She talked to another staff member and then answered my question. I then asked about the family history and if there’s anything I need to do and she simply interrupted again with “you don’t even have high blood pressure, so no you don’t do anything.” (My family has history of eclampsia and helpp syndrome which is related to high blood pressure and has nearly lost their lives and lost children to this which is why I was so nervous. They also did not show symptoms of high blood pressure at their appointments as well). She then asked if I have any more questions, to which I said “I guess not”, since I’m clearly not allowed to ask any or I’ll get a dismissive and rude response or may not get one at all. I went home to my boyfriend, who wasn’t allowed to come to the appointment, hysterical because I thought I was a bad mother and she made me feel pure awful, scared, and stressed. I don’t understand how someone working in a position like this could treat someone who is confused, terrified, and new to everything so poorly. Needless to say, I scheduled my next appointment at another doctors office who I will be going to from now on. 10/10 do NOT recommend going here and listen to the other bad reviews on here, I wish I had. They clearly do not care here and I 100% do not feel safe trusting them with both mine and my baby’s health.
Was given a new doctor this time. Dr. Gross is the worst. To the point I had not been back since 2018. I finally went back this year and had Dr. Brown. She is great!! I will be keeping her. She was kind and understood what I needed. She was very informative. Which is great because I need to know what is going on with my body.
The doctor and staff were nice but I was called into the exam room 55 minutes after my appointment time any the visit with the doctor only took 4 minutes.
Dr. Gupta is worth the wait!! Staff was incredibly helpful even with a mixup. They were quick to resolve and did it with kindness and patience! Dr. Gupta was through and so very kind. Truly one of my best visits here! Thank you for your patience.
Read all the reviews….I actually found the staff friendly and helpful….and the doctor doesn’t talk much which I happen to appreciate considering the situation….she does her job….I personally can’t complain and will continue to be a patient
Ive been a patient of Dr. Owunna for many years. She is fabulous! Very patient and caring, compassion for her patients. Doesnt rush, gives you her undivided attention. The staff is wonderful. Always smiling and very courteous!
Dr. Gross is a superb OBGYN doctor. She is skillful, thorough and patient. She answers all my questions. She has been my doctor for close to 30 years and has overseen my two pregnancies providing me the utmost in medical care. I highly recommend Dr. Gross and Axia Women’s Health.
I had a horrible experience at this office. Personally, these doctors were not the right fit for me. Very medical and no bedside manner. This is my first pregnancy, and each time I visited the office, not only did I wait FOREVER in the waiting room (2 times well over an hour after my scheduled appointment), but once I would finally see a doctor I felt rushed out of room, even when I had questions/concerns. I never felt satisfied leaving... If you are looking to establish a close connection with your doctors, this is NOT the place for you. The final straw for me was when one of the doctors began pressuring me to do a procedure I was NOT comfortable with... Although she claimed it was a mandatory procedure and I had no choice, I bolted out the of office and that was that. I immediately switched at 28 weeks to a midwife group and THANK GOD I did. Turns out, that procedure does not need to be done during pregnancy and there are several risks involved in doing so. Im so happy I listened to my gut. Like I said, if you dont mind just feeling like a number than this place may be ok for you.. but I can not express enough how unhappy i was at this office and Im so happy to be finishing out my pregnancy with a group of women who actual care, make me feel comfortable, and take their time with me.
The doctors are great! Fantastic bedside manner and actually seem to care about their patients. For the most part the place was very clean. I was just kind of grossed out by the place you have to put your feet because it looked like the socks on the stirrup things had been there all day and had leftovers from everyone else’s feet/socks.
I wish I could leave a review without the false pretense that this office even deserves one star. I have been coming to this office for 8 years. I have had minor issues here and there, but nothing that couldn’t be be fixed by switching doctors. Today the simplest way to explain my experience is Negligent. After waiting weeks for the appointment clerk to call me back, my appointment was made for the wrong date, in a completely different month. My questions went unanswered. I waited an incredible amount of time to be “accommodated”. Then after I had been very patient the woman at the front desk, whom I guess had enough of my disappointed face since I hadn’t said a word yet, decided to lose all of her professionalism and attempt to explain to me her point of view. As I’m expressing my concerns to Mara, the office manager, it seemed all she could do was find humor in my experience. I will not be back, which is a shame because there are a few kind and quality doctors here. My appointment should have been at 10:15am... it is 11:46am, an empty waiting room, and I’m still waiting to be seen. Ridiculous
Dr Owunna is the best ! She has to be the nicest physician I have even been to . Her staff is always friendly and professional . I wouldn’t go anywhere else . Highly recommend.
I hate to have to do this... but I’m fed up with this office. I love Dr. Owunna but I’m no longer going to put up with the practice. The front desk treats you like they are doing you a favor or seeing you for free with any request. The girls are very rude and they have major turn over. I’ve been with the practice for 7 years and have had plenty of bad experiences with them. I am officially done. Office and ultrasound visits are rushed. Go somewhere where you are treated like a person not just a number. Trust me.
Today was my first visit and I was greeted upon arrival . Wait time to be called in was good. Nice friendly nurse who checked my weight, blood pressure etc. The doctor was very nice, friendly and funny. I felt comfortable and welcomed. I found my new ob/gyn doctor and I will surely continue going there for my yearly check ups.
I love this office. It took me so long to find a Ob/Gyn office that I like, especially since I wanted a office that had more Diversity. Dr Owunna is Awesome! Love her. I never feel rushed. I always feel she takes the time to listen to me and address my concerns no matter how far behind she may be. She comes across very Warm and judgement free with the heart of a helper/teacher.I also love that when needed after hours I could always reach someone. The staff is very nice and accommodating as well.Ive heard stories of other ob/gyn offices on how they treat theyre pregnant women. I had a great experience here through my pregnancy as well. They were awesome.
Making my mammogram appointment here is so easy! And you’re in and out without a long wait time.
Best OBGYN place. Been there for over 26 years with Dr. Renne Gross. She delivered my daughter 26 years ago. Love her professionalism and friendly attention to her patients! Place looks great!
My experience was amazing! All my forms were done electronically, so check in was fast and easy. Temp checks done at the desk and sanitizers everywhere. Bathroom and waiting room were well kept. Gowns were individually sealed. Megan & NP Danielle made me feel super comfortable. They answered all my questions and gave me plenty of information. Would definitely recommend this office! Thank you!!
Dr. Brown is awesome! First doctor in a long time to take time, answer questions, and say “we will figure this out”, w some complexities I present w medically. I recommend her highly. The girls in the office are very efficient and always helpful.
I rarely write reviews so here we go. The doctors are great. No complaints there. Its the staff that answers the phone. It always seems like youre bothering them or they have an attitude. You begin to feel uncomfortable and avoid calling if possible. The receptionists etc are your front line of any business. Customer service is valuable if to want to keep return customers. Its important to appear pleasant and offer assistance without seeming disturbed. So far thats my main complaint about this office. Would I change because of the attitudes, definitely!!! Im trying to hang in there and see how it goes.
Caring doctors that take the time to address all of my concerns. I always leave their office feeling like I am getting the best quality medical care.
Dr Gupta was AMAZING. She listened to all of my concerns, completely understood what was going on and what I needed, and gave me a variety of options to figure out what’s best. I’d been having a terrible time with my birth control for years with my old doctor and now I feel so relieved and so much better. She was thorough, kind, and made sure I completely understood all the info. I’ll never go anywhere else. I wish I’d started coming here ages ago. And every interaction with the rest of the staff was super pleasant.
Dr. Owunna is by far the best doctor I have ever been to. I trust her completely. She is professional, kind, caring and knowledgeable. Dr. Owunna has all the qualities you would want in a doctor. I’ve found the staff to be courteous and caring.
2 stars based off obstetrics care only as I didnt have many issues with regular gynecological visits in the past. Your pregnancy is supposed to be a stress free experience and the young lady in billing (I believe her name is Fannie) has made my experience an absolute nightmare. Condescending and cold are a few words I would use to describe her attitude.Ultrasound visits are rushed and they dont let you hear the heartbeat. I was simply told we dont do that here. You cant record or take photos for your loved one if they arent able to make it to appointments. I also havent been asked about my birth plan (whether or not Id like an epidural etc.)If you are ok with feeling like a number during your pregnancy then this is the place to be.
Two words...DR. OWUNNA! BEST DOCTOR EVER! been going to this office since I was a teenager. I think I have seen every doctor in the practice at one time or another. Had a few issues here & there so I booked with Dr. Owunna and she is AWESOME!
I love coming to this office! the front desk is always nice and welcomes you in a good mood besides all the patients they deal with! The providers here will cater to you in the best way possible & I can call at any time with questions & they always get answered! they always give me the attention i need. The girls at the lab are also all very nice! ;) Highly Recommend to all friends & family!
I am a new patient to this practice, and I had to change / reschedule my appointment a few times within the same day. The person answering the phone at the front desk, Shonda (I apologize if I misspelled her name) was more than patient and helpful. I felt like I was being a burden but she continued to be just as friendly the more I called! The employees at the front desk know how to make a patient feel comfortable!
I delivered two babies via c-section with this practice and I felt in good hands, listened to, and cared for all along the way. The doctors discussed options with me regarding my child birth and I always felt like it was a team approach. Yes, this is a busy (and smaller) practice, but, I have always felt that even if it was a quicker check up. all my questions and concerns were listened to. My primary experience is with Dr. Owunna and Dr. Gupta, I wouldnt hesitate to recommend either of them.
I love this practice! Fantastic nurses, fantastic doctors. They have always been tremendously understanding about the emotions surrounding pregnancy and the postpartum period. I feel so welcomed in this office by all staff!
I have been a patient of Dr. Owunna’s at East Brunswick OB/GYN for many years. The nurses and staff keep everything running smoothly and are very helpful over the phone as well as in person. Dr Owunna is very knowledgeable, skilled and caring. Thanks for everything you do to make routine visits easy and especially for the care when issues arise.
Dr Gupta is warm, sensitive, and down right a fantastic doctor. Never makes you feel nervous and is always thorough and never rushes you. Highly recommend this practice to anyone staff is wonderful and the place is immaculate I would never go anywhere else!
It was a great visit.I called yesterday with a problem and was seen today.the dr and staff we very nice and friendly and professional.I had no waiting time in the office.I have used this group for more then thirty years. Great job
Dr Owunna is so caring and wonderful, I couldnt ask for a better gynecologist. The office staff was very kind, polite and helpful. And, as silly as this may sound, the gown provided closed completely and provided very adequate coverage, unlike many I have encountered in other medical settings.
This place is just “okay” for standard OB care. I came here for my 1st pregnancy. Some of the doctors are great and nice (like Dr Brown, Dr Owunna, Dr Gupta and Danielle) but others not so much (like Dr. Gleason). They also make you “Purple Push” when having the baby in the hospital; which is horrible for you pelvic floor and can lead to more tearing & complications (prolapse, fetal distress, etc). You can Google “purple pushing”. But I guess it’s good for the hospital’s wallet as it gets the babies out faster? I also had a lot of pain problems that I brought up to Dr Gleason at my 6 week postpartum check up, but she dismissed my concerns and was rude to me; I ended up seeing a urogynocologist with many pelvic pain issues that needed physical therapy (which Dr Gleason denied that I needed, she seems to be ill-informed on the benefits of pelvic floor physical therapy, it’s not just for “prolapse”). Everyone should see a Pelvic Floor PT when postpartum, which is actually standard practice in Europe. If you go here just stay away from her! And if you have more complex issues like vulvodynia, bladder pain, chronic infections etc., I recommend seeing a urogyno not a regular OBGYN
3 days calling to make appointment, they will answer and put you on hold for 30 min then they close the line.More than 20 calls and 5 voice messages.Even i try online to make appointment but its useless.Even they have huge volume of calls ,it should not be like this. How many calls i need to make inorder to book appointment?
I had a very pleasant experience with every single person I Met: shondel, nurse Stephanie and Dr uzoma O.They are all caring and courteous. All of them explained everything efficiently. I feel assured that I’m gonna be in good hands since I’m high risk. Place is clean! Dr O and Stephanie has perfect bedside manners and are knowledgeable. I’m really happy with the practice so far.
AVOID DR. GROSS!Reviews are my last resort but if I can save someone from experiencing what Ive gone through, then I guess here goes. Ive tried calling the office multiple times, have left messages, and have spoken to Anetta (receptionist) in detail about why I have a major concern. I have received no response. If you are considering going here, AVOID DR. GROSS AT ALL COSTS. She is condescending, uncaring, and does not provide you with necessary medical care. On the contrary, the medical care I was provided with was harmful and with continued use, could have been detrimental to my health. The other doctors I have come across were warm and welcoming, Dr. Gross was hands down, the worst professional I have dealt with. She has no bedside manners, speaks to you like you dont understand English, and in my case, refused to provide me with a certain medicine I requested because it was detrimental to my health and instead pushed something she thought was a better alternative. She provided no warnings or explanation for the medication I was prescribed with and it was only after I requested a second opinion, did I find out that the medicine she prescribed me with should not be taken by someone with my particular health conditions (which she was clearly aware of, having commented about it more than once). At this point, I cant help but wonder if it was intentional.
Dr. Owunna is the best. My visits with her have been great but the best was after complications from surgery. She rushed to the ER to see me and took such great care of me while I was freaking out. She knew exactly what to look for and almost literally stitched me back up. She was calm, caring, and attentive.
Don’t walk …run from this place. ill mannered and discourteous front desk staff. One of the drs was very rough. They are too incompetent to look at your records or prior history so they just repeat tests on you as an attempt to charge insurance more. You’re just a number there. They also severely lack cleanliness as the bathroom is disheveled and exam rooms are unkempt. The doctor coughed into her mask , touched her mask then proceeded to exam me with the same gloves. Disappointing. If I could give 0 stars that would be too much.
Been using this practice for over 40 years. Always treated with care and concern. They are very thorough with treatments and highly recommend them. Always felt valued and well cared for.
Update (4/20/22): I did recieve a call from the manager, Collette, who was lovely, caring, and apologetic for my experience at this practice. While Im happy to hear that things are on the mend at OBGYN of EB and that Im not the only one to voice serious concerns about Dr.Gross and Dr.Gleason, I will not be returning. If you do choose to use this provider, I would strongly suggest using Dr.Owunna (who I had a great experiene with prior to my negative one) or Dr.Gupta (who Collette told me is highly requested).I was a patient of OBGYN of East Brunswick from 2018-2021. I chose the practice after having a traumatizing experience with another provider. I initially had a great experience with Janet Summerly APN and was extremely satisfied with the care provided. However, my care after Janet left became increasingly worse. The miscommunication at the office wasted my time with a number of appointment mishaps (i.e. scheduling me at the wrong office, canceling an outpatient procedure two separate times). The care I experienced was cold, not individualized, and disrespectful of my time and bodily autonomy. I felt unheard and disregarded about numerous medical concerns. I have now chosen to seek care with another provider. I previously reached out to the office to share my experience and see if it could be reconciled, but they did not get back to me. In fact, when I called to try and refill my birth control 1 last time so I had enough until I found a new doctor, they told me that I had to come in for an appointment to see the doctor, even though I had just been in a few weeks prior. I ended up going off birth control because of this experience.EDIT: I just wanted to add to this review that since posting I went to a different practice and have learned that OBGYN of EB misdiagnosed me as having uterine polyps (I dont) even when I told the doctor (Dr.Gleason) many times that I had no symptoms (pain or spotting) and was pressured into having an outpatient procedure (that has serious risks associated with it) to remove the polyps. Looking back now, thank god the office cancelled this procedure twice, because there is nothing there to remove.
The staff is very nice and always understanding! Dr Gupta and Dr Owunna are the best, they are very down to earth, very professional and very knowledgeable !!! having my 3rd baby with them, couldn’t be happier :)
I had an non-routine appointment today that I had scheduled due to a concern of mine. It took 7 calls for me to get ahold of a receptionist to schedule an appointment. My appointment was at 11:15am and I sat in the waiting room until 12:15, watching many people who came in after me go in first. No one said anything to me regarding my hour long wait. When I finally got in the room I was hoping to discuss different options and what might be best for me, but the conversation with my doctor was short and felt rushed, and I did not feel satisfied with even that aspect of the 2 hour trip. I was then told I could have just called about my questions (though it takes 7 calls to get ahold of anyone), but no one had told me that prior and I felt very unaware of the unsaid protocol. This is not my first experience like this at this office. I’ve always had a very difficult time getting a phone call to schedule an appointment, I’ve always had a wait of at least 45 minutes, and I’ve never felt cared about as a patient. I do hope this is not everyone’s experience, but it’s always been mine here.
Front desk is absolutely unprofessional and does not care for your well being. I explained I would like to speak with the doctor about a procedure and options for that as well as afterwards and all I get told is “risk for fetal demise” to try and scare me into doing it. If it was such a high risk they waited til last min to administer this, I explained I just wanted to speak with a doctor to understand the details and the front desk refused and got snippy. Here I am waiting to be contacted by a doctor that idk if will ever call me. Test was supposed to be administered 24-28 weeks they wait 2 days til I’m 29 weeks and now I have to wait to come in after 30 weeks for the 2nd test all I want is clarification and to talk to a doctor who can clear up all the details I need answered when the front desk staff don’t know what to say. SMH such poor communication.
I love the Dr’s! They have great bedside manner, they listen and they honestly care about you! The staff is always accommodating and pleasant!
The staff was super nice and inviting. The place was clean and I didnt have to wait forever. I saw Danielle who was amazing and gentle. She made what is usually a dreaded appointment not so bad!
All the doctors at this place are highly experienced and knowledgeable. Staff provides great service. Dr.Gupta and Dr.Owwuna helped me alot.Especially Dr. Owwuna gave me a lot of medical as well as moral support when I faced some complications at my post C-section.Literally I remembered my mom, when she told me to call anytime. I never forget that. I strongly recommend them to friends. Thanks to all the doctors and staff. Appreciate your hard work in this pandemic. May God give all of you good health.
Since moving to NJ twenty years ago, I had a hard time finding the right Gynocologist, well that changed when I started going to Dr. Owunna. She is a great doctor, makes you feel so comfortable and remembers so much about you. I feel very confident with her and the practice.
Today’s visit was awesome! I think every female dreads that annual visit every year. It can be so awkward and uncomfortable. This is where bedside manner goes a long way, it’s not like you go out for a drink after the visit.First off in and out in 27 minutes flat. I called from the parking lot, was given the ok to come inside, greeted by a very sweet and kind receptionist despite it being the end of a long Monday. Sat down to fill out paperwork and immediately was called to come to the back. Greeted by a friendly nurse, she weighed me, took my blood pressure, gave me a gown and told me the doc would be in shortly. I finished filling out the paperwork, and boom Dr. Gleason arrived. We had small talk! She remembered me! Asked me about work, the kids, and me. She quickly did my exam (felt nothing) and that was it. Off I went. 27 minutes later.
I have been seeing Dr. Owunna for quite a few years and have recommended her to both my daughters and several friends. All the doctors here are kind caring and knowledgeable. They go above and beyond with treatment and care.
Great nurses! Dr. Gross was not interested, she didnt even address my concerns. Long overdue for an annual exam. I was instructed to arrive a half hour early for paperwork for a ten minute visit.
I do not recommend Dr. Gross. She is uninterested, judgmental and did not address any of the concerns I had. I felt uncomfortable the whole time I was there and was scared to bring up anything I had even gone there for because from the second she walked in she gave off a terrible judgmental feeling. This was not my first time seeing her either, so I can attest it was not a one time thing. I felt like this visit was a waste of time and money and am seeking a doctor who can address and make me feel comfortable about my concerns.
I have been a patient of Dr. Owunna for the past 15 years. She is absolutely wonderful. Not only does she have a great bedside manner, but she is smart and has always been attentive to my needs. I couldn’t trust any doctor more!! Thanks for the great care!!!
I love this practice. Dr Gupta is one of the finest dr here. She answered all my questions. She is polite knowledgeable hands down best dr. I will say if anyone is looking for best OBGYN ask for Dr Gupta.
On 07/21/20 was my first visit to this office and it was wonderful! The staff and Doctor provided impeccable customer service! The facility was neat and clean. They also provide mammogram exams and ultrasounds the facility!! I don’t have to go from place to place. As soon as I left the office on 07/21/20, I immediately told my friend about this facility and she wants to come!!!
I had emergency surgery done due to ruptured Fallopian tube while I was on vacation.I almost lost my life and I was in trauma post surgery. My surgeon advised me to visit Gynaecologist in my state for the follow up. I booked my appointment with Dr Gupta. I had been to Dr Gupta 2 years back. When I went to her the words she used while her visit broke my heart. I asked her if she can fill my FMLA paper. She said I did courtesy to see you after your surgery as you were disappeared since last two years, and I am not going to fill any kind of paper. I can understand she cannot fill papers but this is not the way to talk to your patients. What does she meant by courtesy??? Again for some help when I called her clinic she again said same thing that it was her courtesy that she did my visit post surgery.A person goes to their doctor so they can strengthen them emotionally and physically. You must be thinking why I gave 4 star then because I switched my doctor to dr. Abigail the day I met her I am feeling back to normal. The way she listened to me, the way she guided me, was excellent. She repeatedly said I understand you have been through a lot . Words matter a lot…Dr Gupta should know this..
I was scheduled for an ultrasound at 10:30, I got called back at 11:35! I asked if the wait is always this long (I was a new patient) and the tech said no we had an emergency this morning. Then, the billing person calls me later on and tells me shes never seen insurance like mine. She said you are basically going to pay for your entire pregnancy out of pocket. She said you are better off going to the clinic and paying out of pocket than using your insurance here.Never going back there!
I love this practice. I have been coming here for over 15 years & they delivered my 3 children. I saw Danielle Matias for the first time today & she was wonderful - thorough, took her time & was very personable.
I have been going to this practice for many years. I went when having trouble conceiving and the doctors were helpful, understanding, and took time to listen to my concerns. They did tests and were great in explaining the results, specifically Dr. Gupta. I am now pregnant, and Dr. Owunna, Dr. Gupta, and Dr.Martinez are amazing. I had a scare early on with a test and everyone was so caring and helpful. I am crazy anxious and they were so supportive. I have had to call the office a couple of times with questions and the office staff have always been great!!
I am going to try and keep it short. There is no words in the world to explain the gratitude I have for this group. 5 years ago I had a high risk pregnancy that was uneventful. I ended up spontaneously pregnant recently. This pregnancy has been even more complicated and extremely high risk. The doctors did everything they possible could to keep me pregnant as long as possible. Their care has exceeded my expectations. I work with doctors myself and I know when doctors are sincere. This group truly cares about their patients. I was in hospital bed-rest until I delivered. Not one day pass that they didnt come to see me.As for the office visit wait time, please note it is expected in almost any practice. The front desk staff are also very friendly. Please be patient because the wait is worth it.I like to call this team my angels. Much love! ❤
I called earlier in the day with a request for an urgent visit and they were able to squeeze me in the next day. As always the staff was so courteous, caring and professional.
The doctors here are wonderful. I have seen Dr. Owunna and Dr. Gross, but I regularly see Janet Summerly. They are fabulous, both as medical professionals and as people. Sure, some of the people who pick up the phone in scheduling arent always the nicest, but at the end of the day Im there for the doctor, not to make friends. You have to focus on whats important. Ive noticed this scenario in most doctors offices anyway. There are also plenty of people who answer the phone and are super nice. There have been a few times I had to call with a question and the nurse June took great care of me and made sure to call me back with my answers that same day. The operator Danielle is so nice and helpful. Either way, its totally worth going here for the doctors. They really care and its very clear.Update, 3 years later:I had an ectopic pregnancy and kept getting stuck with Dr. Gleason. It’s a shame because the other doctors there are great, as I mentioned 3 years ago, but she alone made me leave the practice after over 10 years of going there. I got methotrexate injections for the ectopic, but she never had bloodwork done to measure my starting level of Hcg prior to the shots, so a week later it looked like my numbers had gone up. She was going to recommend ANOTHER round of methotrexate, which is extremely rough on your body. Thankfully Dr. Owunna realized a baseline level was never obtained, called me because I was so upset and suggested waiting a few days. After a few days it did go down, but Gleason made a very stressful ordeal even more stressful the whole way. After that we still had trouble conceiving with 2 early miscarriages, and when I asked if I could have hormone tests done to check if my levels were normal she told me progesterone has nothing to do with getting or staying pregnant. I know people whose doctors have told them otherwise and medicated them for hormone imbalances so they could achieve or maintain successful pregnancies. Because I kept getting scheduled with her and I no longer trusted her medical advice whatsoever and didn’t want to risk her being the one to deliver any future children of mine, I switched practices. My new doctors immediately blood tested me & found my thyroid is under active. Your thyroid controls your hormones. Now medicated for my thyroid & successfully 38 weeks pregnant. Again, any other doctor there but her is great.
I have recently had the worse experience with this office...dealing with their Billing dept. and rude office staff. While I was a patient at this office I had good care with 2 of my doctors...the other doctors had minimal compassion or care for me.My current complaint with this office is with Billing and the customer service from their office staff. While I was a patient I was overcharged for my visits and it was not discovered until 2 weeks ago when I requested a report. It has been going on 2 weeks that I have been waiting for my refund. First delay, they sent check to my former address. Now I continue to wait because of their mistake.I do not recall their office waiting for my payments...when they told me this is what you owe...I paid it! So now I wait for money they overcharged for from services in 2015 - 2016 approx.
Friendly and efficient office staff. I was seen by a nurse practitioner. She was professional , warm and asked about my concerns and explained treatment. I didn’t wait at all.
Dr.Gupta and Dr. Owunna are the best. I was just at their office today. The front office and the rest of the staff are courteous and kind. I have been coming here for years and I love the doctors. Doctors are very knowledgeable and caring. I feel comfortable and welcomed every time I come to the office. Thank you and keep doing an amazing job!
I really like Dr. Gupta ❤️ She’s personable and listens
I have never had to deal with a more unprofessional office staff in my life. They are rude, inconsiderate, and incompetent. I continued to go for a couple years because I specifically liked my doctor there, however, making appointments, calling with questions and dealing with the staff caused me to reach my limit. Everybody there gives you a different answer and getting in touch with someone who can actually help is impossible. They answer the phones giggling and having conversations in the background, as if you are inconveniencing them with your call. It is not worth the headache so I recommend never going to this group, it will save you a lot of trouble.
While nothing in this world is perfect I can honestly say that I have always been very happy with this practice & the physicians. I say that because I see a lot of negative reviews on here but I started seeing Dr. Gupta a few years ago after several years of not having a regular gyno and she has been nothing short of wonderful. Bedside manor is really important to me (especially in gynocology) & she has been caring &made me comfortable from the start. She always takes the time to explain things in detail & truly knows & cares about her patients. Just as an example, I had to have a surgery with her a few years ago & she held my hand going into the O.R. I’ve only seen one other doctor on the practice (Owunna) and she was terrific as well. If you’re looking for a doctor who makes you a priority & advocates for your health I highly recommend this practice.
The doctors and staff are truly compassionate and caring. Ive been going here for years and am so thankful for them, especially Dr. Owunna and Dr. Gleason. They have been amazing through the good times and the bad. Thankful for such wonderful doctors.
My experience from the onset with everyone was phenomenal. The office staff and doctors at this practice could not have been more supportive and helpful. I felt very safe and at ease leading my care in their hands.
I have been a patient at this practice since March. I switched midway into my second pregnancy so was a little nervous coming in. From the moment i met Dr. Gupta, i knew i made the right choice. She is so caring, very direct, and extremely proactive. She listened to all my concerns and came up with a game plan to make sure i remained healthy and safe during my pregnancy. Later on, i met dr. Owunna and dr. Gleason and they are just as amazing. What a world of difference going to an all-female practice. I finally feel heard and validated by medical professionals! The nurses are great And so is the front staff, although scheduling/wait times can be difficult at times. The docs here are so great that i never minded. I would absolutely recommend this practice!
I did not feel rushed, and the doctor listened to my concerns and answered all of my questions. She was amazing with her honesty and non-judgemental demeanor.
I have been a patient at OBGYN for 10+ years. I have always had an amazing experience from front desk staff to all physicians. I moved 40 minutes away and still manage to drive up for my visits.
Great staff. Great doctors. Its all women staff from doctor to nurses to technician to front desk. My favorite doctor there is Dr. Owunna. Great bedside manner, explains everything in detail, gives you all the options. I highly recommend this office for those looking for an obgyn.
My wife and I had a wonderful experience! We love Dr. Owunna, Dr. Gleason and Dr. Gupta and everyone (names escape us at the moment , going on 2 hours sleep lol!) they were so awesome! Also, love Nurse June and the front desk staff! Awesome!! Wish we could give them 10 stars!
Place is very clean, definitely long wait. All staff are nice and friendly
This is a great place to go to for all OBGYN issues. Dr. Gross and Dr. Gleason are highly skilled professionals in their field. My procedure was done with a great care and doctors explained to me what to expect during the procedure. Consider yourself in great hands once you’re in their office. I highly recommend this practice and the doctors at OBGYN OF EAST BRUNSWICK
I’ve had great experiences with the doctors and staff from OB/GYN East Brunswick. Everyone is kind and efficient. I’m so glad they monitored and took care of my pregnancies. I’ve recommended them to friends and family, pregnant or not!
The reception representative was incredibly rude and unhelpful.
I made an appointment several weeks in advance for an appointment here for my first check-up. I received a reminder a day before the appointment, as expected, and came at least 15 minutes early for my appointment the next day. Shortly after I signed in, they asked for my name again with a look of confusion, and I gave them my full name and told them that my mother was a patient of theirs as well. They looked at their computer again, told me that I was never scheduled for an appointment today, and that they were booked and that I’d have to make an appointment for another day. I did, and then went home feeling pretty confused. Later that evening, my phone rang, and it was from the clinic asking me why I hadn’t shown up for the appointment. I explained to them that I did and was sent home, repeating my name again, that my mother went there as well, and that I had received a reminder that I had an appointment. All I heard back was “Huh, that’s weird” and then the call was disconnected. Not even an apology. I cancelled the next appointment I had scheduled and I advise anyone looking for a new obgyn clinic not to go here. Terrible service.
Dr. Gupta is a warm, knowledgeable and precise. She delivered my son Sean via C-section, performed my LEEP procedure and has been there for me through other health concerns. I can’t imagine going anywhere else getting the care that I need in the way she delivers it.
I have been a patient for many years with this practice and I am very happy. Dr. Owunna, takes her time, she is thorough and listens to her patient with out rushing you. I just love her, shes is the best!!
I liked the Doctors. However, after being a patient for eleven years, and experiencing an enormous amount of stress to get an appointment. Then more stress because I never knew if I was going to wait twenty minutes or two hours in the waiting room (always had to have backup plans for care for my small children). I am done. Gratefully done. WORST SCHEDULING AND WAITING ROOM EXPERIENCE EVER. Good luck trying to get an appointment with your favorite doctor. Usually six weeks booked out, then you have to take what they have. Once again missing work, or commitments. DONE. YAY!!!!!
Staff is very rude and inconsiderate. My pregnant daughter goes to this practice and left in tears due to the office staff. Girl with blonde curly hair and nose ring behind desk has attitude problem and is very unprofessional. Considering they deal with pregnant women, who are very hormonal, you would think they would be more kind and patient. Its a shame this office doesnt take more pride in themselves to teach their office staff proper customer service...or take the time to hire more professional and intelligent people. My daughter will be looking for a new Obgyn her next pregnancy...
Dr. Gupta is so kind and caring. She gives me 100% attention and answers all of my questions in words I can understand, not medical terms. All of the office staff are very nice and helpful. I never have a problem getting an appointment or a question answered.
I switched to this practice last May after being poorly treated at my old practice. After switching I learned to find out I was pregnant. I truly always felt comfortable walking into this facility. Every nurse, doctor, and tech was always friendly, compassionate, and attentive during each of my visits. Dr. Owuana performed my C-section. She made me feel relaxed, as I was extremely nervous. Not only did the whole thing run smoothly, I recovered fairly quickly. I am glad that I made the decision to switch to the OBGYN of East Brunswick. I will always recommend their facility to any of my friends or family who are looking for a new practice. :)
This place is an absolute joke! I regret so much having to come to this practice for my second child. I moved to East Brunswick and decided to come to this practice as it was 5 mins away from my new home. They make you see all their MDs of course and every visit I felt rushed. No bed side manner. My 20th week ultrasound was 15 mins. I dont know how they check all the anatomy in 15mins when my first child took an hour and then I didnt have another ultrasound until approx 35 weeks. My MD was not even in the room when I delivered! My nurse had to call a code because the baby came out an no MD was present and my MD strolled in later and was shocked to see my holding my daughter. The billing department is insane. They made me prepay for my OB services before my delivery date and then still billed me afterwards. They double charged me for my OB appts and coded they were for other reasons and not my OB. Every time I ask for a statement of my payments they fail to provide it to me. The doctors do not communicate efficiently to you. I was told I could get my IUD inserted at my next appt so I came in and then was told that pw had to be filed and the device had to be billed through insurance. My MD had failed to provide me with the paperwork at my previous appt. Now I am trying to get my IUD placement done and can never get an appt, or the MDs were short and now they claim I have an open balance even though my account online says I am paid in full. I have just about had it with this place. I am picking up my IUD and going to my previous OB in Edison, 30 mins away at the Durham Women Center how I wished I stayed with them to have my second child. Such a difference in their care.
Dr. OWUNNA was referred to me by my coworkers and Im so glad I listened. She is the most compassionate physician Ive ever encountered. I didnt wait long once in a suite for her and she always remembered little details about me every visit. Dr. OWUNNA was successful in a life preserving surgery and when complications arose she and her staff were on top of the care, medication and even my paperwork for medical leave. When I couldnt see her,Dr. Gupta and Gleason were also so wonderful to work with. I visited both locations often, as I will follow Dr.Owunna anywhere she practices! Ha! New Brunswick office was a bit more stressed but they handle a insane volume of people and work hours. Soon, they knew my voice and greeted me by my first name. It was such a nice touch, to be remembered and greeted with light hearted jokes, hugs and compliments.
I’ve been seeing Dr. Gupta for 6+ years. Very attentive, intelligent and caring. The front office and other staff members are awesome! Facility is clean.
Worst office staff ever! Very unprofessional.I’ve been coming here for years, they helped deliver my daughter, and while I’ve had minor issues it’s never been that bad until recently.I had to reschedule my precious appt because I didn’t have someone to babysit my daughter. The receptionist then asks me why I need to reschedule, as if she needs to here a drawn out excuse. Extremely rude.I arrive at the office today for my 2pm appt, I had to get a babysitter so I’m sure of the time. I arrive at 2:08pm due to traffic. The receptionist barely picks up her head and asks for my name. I tell her and she smiles and says to her coworker, “ Do you want to tell her? She’s going to be mad.” and laughs, she looks back at her computer. A minute later she comes back and tells me I am 15 minutes late and I need to reschedule.I’m done. There office staff is horrible.Don’t go here, it’s not worth the headache.
Trish, the lady behind the desk answering the phone is clueless and seems very distracted. Dr. Gross has a bad vibe that comes along with her. She is NOT thorough at all. Dr. Janet is very rude and doesnt seem like she should be working in this field. I originally started going to this office because of Dr. Uzoma Owunna. She is FANTASTIC. Shes the opposite of Gross & Janet. I would give her 5 stars. The problem is that she never has openings for appointments. You have to book the appointment up to 3-4 months ahead. If you are in need of an emergency appointment, they will have you see Gross or Janet. It is very difficult making an appointment with this office. I will not be coming back.
I never ever write reviews but this time I really lost my patience with the staff here....the only reason I will continue going here is that every doctor here is amazing...from Dr. Gupta, Dr. Owunna to Dr. Gleason...each of them is great! The nurse (June) is also really nice. Although, its the administrative staff and the front desk thats causing the trouble....like everyone said, their attitude and limits of unprofessional-ism is ridiculous!! They must have forgotten to call in my meds so the staff at CVS called them and requested them to do the needful...CVS got a reply that they will get back to them...3 days later, CVS called them again to remind them and got the same reply...when I called the doctors office, (now is our 4th attempt to get my meds) they interrupted my sentence (of course I sounded pissed off!!) and transferred the line where nobody answered...I left them a voicemail and am now waiting for them to call me back!!I wrote this review not to take away this groups business but for them to hopefully read this and do the needful. I will still continue going to this practice because of the amazing doctors there.
Love My Dr. Awunna she’s Awesome!! Been going to this group for many years. Professional and Personable. 😁👍
Great doctors and staff. I usually go to Dr. Gupta whom I trust greatly and she is very caring. I have also seen multiple other doctors and nurse practitioners there and they have all been great!
Amazing care and friendly, caring staff!
Helpful staff, office clean and updated decor very calm and soothing as soon as I walked through the door. A pleasure using OB/GYN of East Brunswick.
I am not one to write reviews but I will go out of my way for this one. Iwould give this place ZERO stars if I could. The staff is horrible. The lady cuts you off on the phone and speaks over you. I also work for a doctor and I know the medical field. No matter how upset a patient is you don’t speak over them and give attitude. In this office they don’t understand that the patients pay there bills. They charging me to send records to another office, when IM NOT THE ONE recieving them a new office is and they were not charged nor was I to have them sent there. I had called and spoke to a women in billing who told me I would be charged for paper to have them sent to my home but if a doctor office requested there is no fee. So now it’s a different story. Clearly there is lack of understanding of office policies.Even when I did go here the doctor seemed to be in a rush, my new doctor spent 45 mins with me making sure I understood every part of my care and that all my questions were answered. The front desk was pleasant and made you feel like your care was important to them not just the green coming out of your pockets. This place is a joke, they just push procedures to bring in more money. Do your self a favor go someone else because you will have nothing but a headache. The owners of this practice should look more at there reviews because it seems pretty evident in all there negative posts that the staff is the biggest problem at this office.
Only reason why I’m giving ONE star is because 1. There’s no option for 0 stars and 2.only three nice people I came in contact with there where tolerable. They non stop harass you with phone calls that are unnnesacary and almost all of the nurses and staff are rude. Was told I couldn’t switch OBGYNs when I was 6 months pregnant because I was “ high risk “ by a very rude nurse named June. I wanted to switch very badly after only having a couple experiences with them. Worst idea was to get involved with this establishment. I really liked Dr. O , she was super sweet and kind. Dr. Gleason was nice. And there’s only one nurse I really liked I can’t remeber her name but she is such an sweet heart. All the other ones made me cry ( litreally ) had horrible bed side manners , and where rude.
I have been a long term patient at this facility with Dr. Gross up until recently. If I could rank Dr. Gross on her own I would give her 5 stars as she has always been kind, patient, and thourough with her exams. Recently though, I encountered some issues that needed more testing and was booked with a new dr as I was told Dr Gross does not perform surgery anymore (if needed). My first appointment with the new Dr. was awful, she was quick, barely sitting as she went over the results of my procedure, failed to make sure I understood what was going on, and told me to come back in 6 weeks, leaving me confused and in tears as I left the office. I did go back as scheduled for a follow up procedure to which she provided the results but I HAD TO ASK how they related to the issue I was monitoring for. She had no recolection as to why I came back and told me the computers were down and she could not reference her notes. I continued to ask questions and she offered to get a laptop, which seemed like an inconvenience and in my opinion should have been her first step knowing she couldn’t get on the desktop. She seemed shaky on her results and told me to come back again in 6 weeks. I checked the patient portal for my results and saw that she INACCURATLEY noted our conversation indicating that I opted out of a possible surgery SHE TOLD me wasn’t necessary. I called to ask why and she indicated she couldn’t remember but that it was illegal for her to go back and update. Understanding she can’t alter what’s there SHE COULD HAVE included an addendum but that courtesy was not offered. I have since gone for a second opinion but this time the dr recommended to see a professional as only a radiologist knows how to read the reports. As it turns out the findings have been much different. This office provided the service in office and the Dr. was the only one who read the images. As she does not put her title on the results reports, I question her qualification to read them. Also, I asked for a copy of the images and the written results and was told they don’t have copies of the images...so who does?Don’t waste your time with this practice. They have proven to be unprofessional and deceiving.
They have no appointments until 2024. But they collect all your private data before telling you that. Bad review for website that captures personal information about you but gives you nothing in return
They are the absolute WORST doctors and office staff EVER! They are rude, flighty, awful to deal, and mean! The doctors have zero patience for people who are expecting their first child...it is a total baby factory and quite frankly they ruined my birthing experience. Dr. Owunna is nice, Dr. Sinofsky and Gleason are so so. Gross and Wagner are the RUDEST. They have no bedside manner. Dont get me started on the office staff...very unprofessional and rude. Wait time for most appointments was an hour at least.Let me tell you my experience, i had a great pregnancy and great labor. The nurses at St. Peters made sure my labor was a wonderful experience, all hell broke loose once Dr. Owunna and Dr. Wagner got involved in the process. After an hour of me pushing, Dr. Owunna took a phone call on her blackberry while sitting at the foot of my bed. Shortly thereafter she explained that she was leaving on vacation to Washington DC with her family and couldnt finish the delivery process with me, that Dr. Wagner would be in. SO SHE LEFT! Wagner came in, was rude, and seemed like she didnt want to be there. She spent more time walking out of my room than staying in, and at one point acutally came back with a soda in her hand (after I hadnt eaten or drank anything in many many hours). After pushing for 3.5 hours I asked for a c-section. She wouldnt give me one. She had a nurse jump down on my stomach which forced the baby out, and also collapsed his lung. He was blue and gasping for air. The NICU team was great, took him away immediately and he spent 7 full days in the NICU (hes now perfectly fine). I truly believe if the doctors were more caring, my baby wouldnt have suffered so much. Never once did Wagner say congratulations, im sorry or try to console me. While stiching me up, she wouldnt let the nurse give me any novicaine, and when I was crying in pain, she told me you really need to calm down, youre making this harder than it has to be. AWFUL!!!! If you are pregnant, change doctors immediately! I am not the only patient of theirs whose baby needed the NICU!
