Called my primary care doctor for a referral 3 weeks ago and still have not heard back. Terrible patient care. Dr Avila has been completely out of pocket with me verbally several times. Once bringing me to tears in front of a nurse who was mortified of the doctors behavior. After filing multiple complaints, I still have yet to hear from anyone about a follow up. Wouldnt come back if my life depended on it.
Dirty and Rude! There was trash on the floor in the exam room and broken drawers. Front desk was *extremely* rude when we called to ask followup billing questions because they billed to the wrong person in our household. Do NOT recommend!
Staff didnt open the doors until 10 minutes after the hour only to find out they didnt have a doctor on staff that day so no labs or services available. I went the next day and the same staff member was late and didnt unlock the doors until 8:10 again. There was a line of 5 people waiting to be seen when we were able to go inside.
I went to get a Doctors note and met the most unprofessional and a poor excuse of a doctor i have ever met. He’s an old balding guy with a disgusting attitude. I filed a complaint with the Illinois Division of Financial and Professional Regulation. I recorded you 🤡I promise I will use every venue available to ensure you never treat another patient like you did me.You need your license revoked!
This rating is specifically for Dr. Avila. I have been seen by him in the past and absolutely hatedthe experience to the point where i refused to have him as my PCP (Amanda is my PCP there and shes great). Today, I went in to be seen for some pretty concerning symptoms. When the nurses told me I was going to be seen by Dr. Avila, I almost walked out but stayed because I was concerned. I regret staying. I always feel like he doesnt actually listen to what Im saying and comes up with an easy diagnosis to get me out the door as quickly as possible. Next time I will trust my gut and refuse to be seen by him.
I have had nothing but good experiences at this clinic. I recentlyade Dr. Avila my PCP, hes a no nonsense man, tells it like it is, doesnt candy coat truths, I find that refreshing. My initial entry visit we talked for 30 minutes. I havent had covid shots and he couldnt have cared less. So if youre a hypochondriac, or need hand holding, and smoke blown up your rear, hes not for you!
Dr. Avila is the worst doctor I have seen in my life. I have no idea why he is employed or if he attended any form of medical school. I am 6 weeks pregnant and have not been able to keep down food for 3 days. I was even vomiting in the lobby waiting room bathroom. My baby and I are literally starving to death. I have lost 6 pounds in those 3 days. The doctor did not care, had me tested for strep and covid and sent me on my way. I told him I couldnt get an appointment with a gyno for at least a month but he said thats find and take some tums. I asked for something to help my sore throat from vomiting and he said he had no idea what that would be. What kind of doctor with a medical degree has never heard of sore throat spray or anything? After reading similar reviews I have no idea how this excuse of a glorified high school dropout has a job. I will be back immediately to see Amanda. I will be telling everyone I know to avoid this doctor at all costs. I cant wait to come back in person.
Came in at 4pm to be told to come back the next day, they close at 5pm. Made an appointment only for them to not have record of my appointment the following day. Fast forward 5 months and I get billed for the appointment and my billing is coded wrong. Sits on hold for an hour to get a voicemail answering machine and disconnected. Awful service in-person and over the phone.
I thought it was just me catching Dr. Avila on a bad day, but apparently not from seeing the reviews. My first healthcare facility since moving to Peoria and what a bad impression Dr. Avila left on me. There was no compassion and professional mannerisms demonstrated from him to me. No longer deciding to choose him as my PCP. To follow up with that poor service, The receptionist who checked me out wasnt friendly either to me or my dad when he called. Having Dealt with an urgent matter, I didnt feel cared for and left still with no answer.
Went to this clinic June 13 for simple blood work, or so I thought. Today I received a call from this clinic that there had been a transportation issue, so I need to come back for another bruise by the irritated clinic person! Because I wasn’t told what the transportation issue was, I will guess it means someone left my and possibly others blood work too long in a hot car!
I waited close to an hour (similar at the Morton clinic), compared to a three week wait to see my regular doctor. When I was called back they apologized for the wait. The staff was very friendly and polite. Dr. Montefolka was very personable and was willing to explain everything.I am considering making him my primary Doctor I was so impressed!Feel very lucky to have a clinic so close to my home and pharmacy. After reading the previous reviews I was hesitant about going but it was as good of an experience as I could of hoped for while enduring a crappy sinus infection!Only compliat was its a cold lobby! Bring a sweater!
Awful experience. Dr. Avila is a terrible and unethical doctor. Upon first entering the room, he asked my wife if she had received the covid vaccine. She said no, then he became very nasty and rude. Practically yelling at her for not having it. He was very disrespectful. Not only that, but we do not feel he actually examined her properly because of some prejudice he has against the unvaccinated. He did not ask the normal questions or perform the normal checks a doctor would if a patient presents symptoms such as my wifes. He didnt even tell her his thoughts, just sent her home without even advice on what she was sick with or how to treat it. We feel discriminated against by this doctor. We are very angry and believe his actions are unethical and possibly illegal.
Been here 3 times now and have never waited more than 18 minutes. Staff from reception to MDs are all wonderful. I followed Dr. Avila here from Morton because I love him so much. I suffer several serious mental health issues and this place and their Morton partners are the only medical facilities (including Tazwood and Unity point Psych) that have treated me respect despite the MI issues. More than once Dr. Avila has gotten me the help I needed (both treatment and medication) when Dr. Attaluri and Tazwood failed to do their job.
Absolutely unacceptable! My daughter was visiting from out of town and took our three year old granddaughter in about a possible infection due to a sore on her finger. There was only one patient waiting when they arrived. Two and one half hours later they returned to our home with a child who sat in either a waiting room or exam room for over two hours during NAP time! The pace at which the doctor on staff attended to my granddaughter was awful. We will NOT use this first care for ourselves or any of our six grandchildren who might be visiting our area.
Been here several times for misc. reasons and have always waited well over an hour, at the least. Went there today and waited outside before they opened to make sure I was in and out. I was the second person to have my paperwork filled out and watched 3 people come in behind me and get seen before me. When I finally speak to the doctor he tells me to just give my sore throat some TLC and itll get better. I did not test positive for strep, but when I asked if it could be anything else, he replies It could be a million other things, but never offered to check and see if it was anything else.I would love to take my business to MedExpress but it appears the Peoria location is closed for good.I would not recommend this place.
Everyone there was nice.First went in there to get myself checked out, said they didnt know what was going on with me. So they prescribed me Prednisone (like they seem to do for everyone else) and sent me on my way.Came back a few days later to return the pills and ask what establishment I should visit next about my issue because what they suggested doing was not working. Somehow ended up with a 110 bill, oppose to my first visit only being 55. So they charged me another 45 dollars for an examination that I JUST had had a few days prior with no avail, just to charge me another 55 dollars for a referral that will apparently take a few weeks to process. Called the specialist that they were going to refer me to and made an appointment for the next day.Nice people but would not suggest anyone going there.
What is there a getting blood. Yes Im a hard stick, but damn at least try. The nurse was a real not friendly. Maybe she just had a bad day but I dont care . If I could give a zero star. I would.
I have to go to this hole for random DOT drug screens for work. Wait time is terrible. Last time I was there for more than 4 hours! They saw 5 patients in those 4 hours. They open at 8am, by 8:05am after registering 5 patients they put up a sign that said wait time 3 hours. They must sit in back and take bets on how long their fool patients will wait before leaving without being seen. If you dont have to go there like I do I would suggest to stay far, far away.
This place is terrible and I would never consider going there ever again. My family has had two visits within a couple of weeks and both times it took over two hours to be helped. Its unacceptable for a patient that has 102+ temp to be left in the waiting room for 2+ hrs. Once we were finally seen, there was no apology or sympathies of not being seen sooner and the wait continued for another hour. We do not recommend this Proctor location. Other Proctor locations have been much better and we suggest finding a different one.
Kind, very intelligent people just trying to do their job with dedication with love of humamity. Medicine and the desire to help people is a calling, it is not politics(for 99 percent of the medical field anyway) As a retired RN( 30 yrs) and current LMT (who has happily been in the medical field for 50 yrs) Please...try to understand and respect folks whose passion, love, and desire is to do the best for you and have dedicated their life in trying to help you. You have no idea how much stress and how many hrs these people put in to help human folk to the detriment of their own health and personal well being.Thank you. I appreciate and thank the receptionist, nurses, and Dr. Alivla very, very, much. You are awesome and the best!!!I am very grateful for you and thank you for your dedication to serve humanity. You have done an excellent job with my Healthcare needs. Sharon Sue Kaiser, RN, retired./current
Dr. Avila has constantly been available to help me connect with specialist and get me admitted to the hospital when the ER dr was an idiot and wouldn’t even examine me just told me to go home.
Dr Carlos Avila is very rude. I would like to note that the office girl was very sweet. I will not return to this place to see this doctor as I have never been treated so ill by a doctor and I have seen many in my day. Amanda neudorf i would go to but never again will I see this man
My experience was an excellent one. I was very impressed with Dr. Montefolka and his staff.Doctor was confident, professional, intelligent, very personable and compassionate. He has all the attributes a patient looks for in a Doctor,
Perhaps the most caring knowledgeable staff available. Dr Montefolka (I followed him from Peoria Heights) is the friendliest doctor out there. Very wise and great diagnostician. He diagnosed me and perhaps saved my life by his interventions.
Absolutely no regard for their patients. I’m coughing up black and they’re acting like I have a cold. Have been to their clinic multiple times this month just to be continuously misdiagnosed. They don’t care about you, just your money!
Waited over an hour to be seen. Tested positive for the flu. Told me to buy Mucinex, an over the counter drug and go home and go to bed. In two days had a rash on my forearms. Called them to report the rash and they never returned my call. Called again 3 hrs later and they said to buy over the counter benadryl. Asked for a return to work slip and they had the wrong date. I GIVE UP....Never going back!
Boyfriend just went in today. Was very fast 20 min wait on walk in also nurses and doctor were very nice and knowledgeable. Would recommend to anyone.
Dr. Avila is very rude and unprofessional. Waited to be seen for an hour, just for him to come in the room not even greet the patient and start an argument with my spouse. & I STILL wasn’t seen. Will never go back!
Ive tried to use the Pekin facility 3 times. Each time I went there, they were closed. The real problem is they wont answer the phone to tell you theyre closed! How about an answering machine with an updated message?!
We were there for 3 hrs and I was just there for a drug test and an exam and it took forever just for them to get us called back. I would not recommend anyone going there for a drug test or a walk in.
Wait time current 1 hour an 36 mins. There were 4 people ahead of me, 2 came in an were seen before the rest of us, no appointments not sure what they said to jump the line but I wish Id thought of it, and still waiting maybe Ill be seen by 3pm do not recommend this place i would give it 0 stars
Nurses were great. The male Dr was arrogant and did not want to listen to anything I said.
Absolutely horrible, the staff at the front desk was very unpleasant. Also its been almost a 4 hour wait time and Im yet to be seen. Wouldnt recommend them at all, wait time shouldnt be an all day visit! Never again will I come here, and Ill make sure to let family know as well.
Long wait time if you dont have an appointment. Doctors are pleasant and seem pretty knowledgeable. Front desk could be more helpful and livelier.
Takes way, way too long to be seen. Whether theres A lot of patients waiting or Not. Also, theyre HORRIBLE About getting Prescriptions ready,.Especially If You have to have A Written one to be Picked up.
No care for patients doctor was ok nurses could care less doctor more worried about get info in computer than listening to your needs very rude and jncaring staff
Very nice and caring staff and doctors. I started going just as a quick med for minor things and quickly made them my Permanent medical staff.
Office staff was nice but Dr Avila was rude & judgemental. Avoid seeing him!
Long wait times, but Dr. Montefolka is pretty great.
Amanda Neudorf is excellent and the reason I go here!
Long waits. Minimal care. For minor health problems only.
Quick, easy, knowledgeable, and very friendly.
Love it...
