Dr.Shakiba is a beautiful soul. He is very nice, knowledgeable and compassionate. He makes time for you and listens to your concerns attentively with realistic responses. Highly recommend Dr Shakiba. I found out in 2022 that I had a large dermoid cyst on my ovary, and my obgyn at the time said I would most likely lose my ovary, or at minimum badly damage it, in the process of him removing it. I sought out a second opinion & found Dr Shakiba. He had excellent bedside manner & answered all my questions without seeming annoyed or rushed. He performed laparoscopic surgery to remove the cyst a few weeks after our first appt. Ovary fully intact, I felt better 2 days later.

After four years of going to my gynecologist, and a urologist, I finally have answers. Other doctors could not diagnose me, and Dr Shakiba did! I had pudendal nerve surgery laproscopicly from Dr Shakiba on 4/2. Surgery went well & recovery is not easy because nerves heal very slowly. I made phone calls to the office & thankfully the prescription for gabapentin was immediately prescribed. I saw Dr Shakiba today & he was so caring & made me feel so understood & I feel so fortunate that we came up with continued treatment which consists of Radiofrequency for pelvic nerves & more...that was done in the office today. I highly recommend Dr Shakiba because he cares about his patients & is one of the best, if not the BEST!!!
It was a pleasure visiting Dr. Shakiba’s office. After examination he went right into, didn’t beat around the bush, he told me exactly what needed to be done. Went to other places for consult but no one told me how bad the situation was. His staff was pleasant and very professional. The office was very clean. Joannie is super sweet. My experience with the doctor, medical assistant, and phlebotomist was wonderful back in February. I came in originally because I was having bladder issues. The doctor was informative. I came back today for my scheduled annual and as soon as I came in the front receptionist said I owed $120 for todays visit and I asked if that was with insurance and she said yes it’s $120 and kept mentioned I paid that at my last first before I mentioned that I think I paid my copay of $15 last time. She kept saying no I paid $120 she seemed a bit annoyed with my questions about the payment but I just genuinely wanted to understand the price. She explained it’s because I’m oon and my insurance doesn’t pay good. Which I understood I was oon they let me know before making my first appointment that any balances would be waived for oon. I told her I wasnt prepared with $120 because I wasn’t notified if maybe I can cancel but she kept bringing up I paid it last time. I didn’t want to ask more questions and take up too much of her time so I said okay. She said she has to ask her manager because I took up time in the schedule. She came back out and asked if I can do $80 bucks and I said no. I completely understand the insurance doesn’t pay well and I feel like if I was told over the phone and just explained I would of 100% paid and felt okay with it. I just felt a bit gaslit about insisting I paid $120 last time. I checked my bank statement from 2/23 after I left and it has a charge for my copay of $15. I just wanted to share with any new patients or returning patients to be aware of your charges and ask for proof of receipts. Overall the actually medical providers are good in this office. The front staff can be a bit more honest and open to explaining to patients about the fees better.
Dr Shakiba was able to identify the problems I was having postpartum and offer a non surgical option to try and mitigate it. I am very hopeful that this will be the key, but if I eventually need the surgery I know I am in the best hands!

It was the most amazing doctor visit I had I have been suffering with pain for years but now I have hope ! I went to many doctors for over 25 years who could not diagnose my condition or offer any treatment for my condition. Dr Shakiba did so within several minutes and was very compassionate and easy to speak with. Around 7 years ago I started feeling fatigued, weak, nauseous, dizzy, etc. After visiting countless doctors being poked for blood every week, they all came back telling me I was perfectly fine to the point i thought I was going crazy. I took matters into my own hands and visited Dr. Shakiba on a referral from a family member. Within 2 months he was able to see I was suffering with Endometriosis. Of course, i had many questions which Dr. Shakiba happily explained everything to me and ensured me that together we would come up with a treatment plan that suits me best. Dr. Shakiba was knowledgable and reassured me that everything would be okay and did not give up on helping me in my journey with endo since i first starting going to him a year and a half ago.

He rips you off would not operate on me unless I paid 2500.00 for a cosmetic procedure, also gave me a scrip that I had to use his pharmacist in Livingston , he would not let me use my pharmacist, I had surgery in NY city from Dr Kavaler and she was awesome and said I didn’t need and medicine or cosmetic procedure , just be careful with him

After being diagnosed with a large grapefruit size fibroid 2 months ago, I consulted with 5 different doctors. After reading all of the reviews on Dr. Shakiba I decided to schedule a consultation. Im so glad I saw him!! Dr. Shakiba was extremely thorough. He has a great bedside manner. He was calm, confident, and he took his time to answer my long list of questions - he didnt make me feel rushed at all. Him and his staff made me laugh more than a couple of times which made the visit even easier. Ive had so much anxiety about potential surgery, but Dr. Shakiba and Joannie (his surgical coordinator) made me feel comfortable enough to schedule the laparoscopic robotic surgery before I even left his office. I would 100% recommend Dr. Shakiba.
A few years ago, I had a myomectomy for fibroids with Dr. Shakiba. After the myomectomy, I did an embryo transfer and was able to successfully have a healthy beautiful baby. My OBGYN wanted to perform a C section at 36 weeks due to the myomectomy. After my persistence, we agreed to have the C section at 38 weeks. During the C section, my OBGYN asked me who the surgeon was that did such a meticulous job on my myomectomy. My OBGYN said Dr. Shakiba did such a great job that I could have waited till 40 weeks to have the baby.Fast forward to now, I was waking up 7-8 times a night to go to the bathroom. I also had severe pain on my back, every time I ate. The pain was so excruciating that I would hunch over and not be able to get up. I have been to so many doctors, I have done so many tests to find out the cause of the pain. No one was able to diagnose what was wrong with me.Then I decided to come see Dr. Shakiba. After listening to me for few minutes, he immediately knew the cause of the pain and the reason why I was getting up 7-8 times a night. He also asked me if I had any pain going down my leg, which I did!!! I had no idea that the cause of the leg pain was related to the diagnosis. I just figured that I pulled a muscle at the gym.I am scheduled to have a partial hysterectomy in few days. I am looking forward to finally being able to sleep without getting up 7-8 times a night and not having the pain.My experience with Dr. Shakiba and his office has been amazing. The surgery coordinator, Joannie has been so helpful and kind.I will write another review after the partial hysterectomy, but I am sure it will also be a stellar review!Thank you, Dr. Shakiba and everyone at the office!

There are no urogynecologists in my area. I traveled an hour to meet with Dr. Shakiba. The office staff were helpful. The wait time was minimal. The exam was thorough. He explained the issue clearly & my options. Afterwards I had further questions. I emailed the office. Dr. Shakiba called me & took his time addressing my further concerns & questions.

I have had unknown pelvic pain for years. I drove from Ohio to see Dr. Shakiba. I felt he knew how to help me and seemed very wise and knowledgeable. He spent a lot of time with me and my husband discussing what he felt was wrong with me and the plan to try and fix my pain issues. I feel confident going forward with surgery and his other treatment plans.
Dr. Shakiba is a wonderful OBGYN. I have been his patient for many years. He has performed 2 major surgeries for me successfully as well as several outpatient procedures when needed. Recently he has been monitoring my fibroids to make sure they are not growing at a rapid rate. I recommend all women, but particularly minority women to his practice. So, I have had interstitial cystitis for as long as I can remember. I’ve been absolutely miserable in a massive flare for the past month or longer. Before this, my “normal” bladder was never great either. I always had/have to be near a bathroom because I have to pee A LOT or at least feel like I have to go and a little comes out. I love wine, and just dealt with the peeing, so I can have it. I usually have to be home for that though, to be near the bathroom for my constant peeing. The past few months, along with the constant feeling of having to go and the little to no relief when going, I’ve also had lower back pain and pelvic discomfort. I researched high and low for a urogynecologist and found Dr. Shakiba online. He, along with his staff, had excellent reviews. Today was my first appointment, and I can see now why those reviews were posted. After explaining everything to Dr. Shakiba, and before even doing an exam, he came to the conclusion that I have endometriosis and it has been affecting all of my nerve endings, and therefore causing all of my symptoms. After the exam, he was sure of it. He took his time to listen to everything I had say and his assistant was the sweetest. I do need surgery to shave off the endometriosis and get my life back. I’m fully confident in his skills/knowledge and have scheduled the procedure. He may have found what has been wrong with me for all of these years and for all of the suffering I have endured. I’m looking forward to the next steps. The surgical coordinator, Joannie, was so sweet also, and spoke to me for a long time after. She helped to ease my mind a bit with the surgery. This was my last hope, as I’ve tried everything, and I feel I made the right decision entrusting my health into Dr. Shakiba’s hands. I’ll keep you posted!

I have only the best things to say about Dr. Shakiba and his staff. I lost my bladder control severely and had multiple prolapse after my prolonged labor, which destroyed my postpartum and my self confidence, among other things. After more than 15 yrs of painful, super heavy periods I’m finally free :) I had to change my diva cup and/or super tampons EVERY SINGLE HOUR otherwise I would make a mess on myself... yes, during the nights as well, so no sleep. This was my norm every month for the first three days of my period.My previous gynecologist kept doing painful biopsies, numerous polyps removals, and prescribing medications to try and resolve the bleeding but nothing helped.Dr Shakiba and his staff were incredibly sympathetic and understanding. He gave me the diagnosis I have been waiting on for years, and was able to treat me accordingly. He was the only one who listened to what I really needed and followed through. So grateful to have found this place! Best decision I ever made!!!

I met Dr. Shakiba yesterday, as I’m in need of having some endometriosis removed prior to my next IVF cycle. After a very painful physical examination he told me that I have a small uterus. How in the world do you determine that from a physical exam?! In any case, I said I was there again for just a pre-surgical consult. He asked me how many times I have tried IVF…I said just once . Wouldn’t you know he suggested I just get a surrogate. It was so flippant, as if to say why didn’t I just think to do it. So yes, I’m there to try and get my body together for IVF but because he is so clearly tone deaf that was his remarkable solution. While he might be skilled, and nuanced regarding women’s gynecology he truly lacks the skill of active listening.
Excellent facility! The surgical coordinator Joannie Rivera is compassionate, knowledgeable and helpful, walking us through the whole process. She truly goes above and beyond. Dr. Shakiba was highly recommended to us and Im so glad we chose Womens Pelvic Surgery of North Jersey for my mothers surgery. I know my mother is in good hands.

Dr. Shakiba office staff is Amazing, especially Kaylin. Going to a doctors office can can be stressful at times however Kaylin makes the experience so much more comfortable. She always greets you with a smile, goes above and beyond by returning follow up calls, helps with scheduling conflicts. Her level of customer service cannot be matched.Dr. Shakiba himself is very understanding and easily addresses your concern based on his years of expertise. I drive 55 mins just to see the doctor as needed as the combination of the staff and doctor can’t be beat.
My experience at Women’s Pelvic Surgery was great! I found Dr. Shakiba vía a Google search because I needed some relief for my painful, heavy periods, extreme bloating and painful cramping.Dr. Shakiba was very thorough during my exam and answered all of my questions when I asked about the surgery, the aftercare, scaring, and when I could try to conceive a baby after the surgery. I was worried about some things just because of the unknown and he reassured me on multiple occasions.Even during my 6 month f/u ultrasound, Dr. Sakiba called me on a Saturday evening to see how I was doing and to discuss my report results. He’s a very dedicated doctor and medical professional.Nurse Jackie was also great! She did my 6month ultrasound f/u exam and was very nice and asked me how I was feeling after the surgery.Overall, my experience was great with Dr. Shakiba’s office and I’m happy that my fibroids are gone and my quality of life has improved tremendously. Dr. Shakiba is a kind and caring doctor and is concerned about improving the life of women who are suffering from uterine fibroids. And as an African American women where fibroids are prevalent, it was great finding someone who could help me feel better overall.Thank You for your kindness Dr. Shakiba.
Overall my consultation with Dr. Shakiba was good. He seems very knowledgeable and the staff were kind. My only criticism is that I didn’t appreciate a comment he made stating that I shouldn’t complain about mypain that was considered “normal” and, compared it to his other patients with severe cases. While I was happy to learn of my mild case and that I would not need surgery, I felt it wasn’t right to devalue the pain I experience.

Incredible experience. Dr. Shakiba is the most patient, kind, understanding, knowledgeable doctor I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I saw him for an initial consult for pain I had been having for years that my previous OBGYN kept brushing off. When you have weird problems down there and your annual visit etc. is not standard stuff, Dr. Shakiba is the one to see. I have been a patient for six or seven years and highly recommend him. It also should be noted that he spends a lot of time with you. It is not a two second in and out the door.

Absolutely wonderful experience from setting up an appointment to office staff and to especially Dr Shakiba himself. I was so lucky and happy to find Dr. Shakiba!! I was in severe pelvic pain for months. I was in the emergency room several times. The emergency room doctors and my gynecologist just kept saying it was from ovarian cysts and to deal with the pain. I finally researched gyn pelvic specialists and found Dr. Shakiba. He knew what was wrong right away and it wasn’t from ovarian cysts. He fit me in for surgery two days later. I had a hysterectomy. It has been 3 1/2 weeks since my surgery and I have a little pain when I overdo it. He changed my quality of life!! I am forever grateful!! His staff is amazing too!! I met with Dr. Shakiba for the first time in mid-October. I was the first appointment of the day and Dr. Shakiba was running a tad late because he was at the hospital. In the meantime, I met with Dr. Kolesnikova. She began to gather my history while we waited for the doctor. I have never felt more heard in my entire life. Another staff member takes notes so that Dr. Kolesnikova can truly give her absolute undivided attention. She is so compassionate and welcoming. When Dr. Shakiba came in and began the exam, she was right there and LITERALLY held my hand the entire time. I cried through much of the visit and both of them were so patient and so understanding. My biggest fear at 30 years old was losing my uterus. Dr. Shakiba came up with a surgical plan that worked best for all parts of me: my symptoms, my diagnoses, and my fears/desires. After meeting with the treatment team, I went to meet with the surgical coordinator, Joannie. She was able to schedule me for surgery in just two and a half weeks. She was so helpful and so informative regarding the next steps I need to take to get the ball rolling. She is incredibly responsive via email and it seems as though she shares the same passion that the doctors do in getting women more than adequate care. The entire staff made me feel like I am more than just a patient and a number. There was only one other woman in the office which leads me to believe that they schedule their appointments so that they have ample time to spend with each person. If you are on the fence about seeing a specialist for any gynecological issue (and beyond, as I have endometriosis all over my pelvic organs) please give Dr. Shakiba a try. While he is an out of network provider for me, his fees are so much more reasonable than any other provider Ive come across. I truly believe this practice is focused on getting women the help that we need. I apologize for the lengthy review, but this was such a wonderful experience. The entire staff from reception to surgical coordination is absolutely wonderful. My procedure is scheduled for the first week of November and I will update this review after that. Thank you to all at Dr. Shakibas office... I hope that you will be a part of my life and my journey beyond this procedure.

I had a prolapsed bladder and uterus that were creating serious health concerns, but Dr. Shaking and his caring, competent team turned my life around. I had surgery - a first that is was dreading - but three days later, I was feeling better than I had in ages. No need for pain medications, able to take walks my first week, and now, two weeks out, my incisions have nearly disappeared! I cannot praise this team more highly! I just had my appointment with Dr. Shakib. I can’t tell you how mad I am because you go through the whole examination explanation of what the surgery for prolapse will look like and then he drops a bombshell on you that he only takes Medicare if you drop $2000 for some kind of physical therapy treatment at the end of it all! Why wasn’t I told us when I made the appointment? If I had known that from the beginning, I would’ve never wasted my time going through all of this. It doesn’t matter to me how good of a surgeon or a doctor he is but it just goes to show you money talks. Beware ask as many questions as you can before you go to that office.

I had surgery with Dr. Shakiba less than two weeks ago. I am so happy to report that I feel great! He has seen me 2x since surgery - once because I had a concern (turned out to be nothing), and once for a post-op visit. He listened carefully and made me feel heard. I am pleasantly surprised by my progress which I feel is a direct reflection of the quality of care I received.

I was very pleased with my visit with Dr. Shakiba. When I first phoned the office to make an appointment I spoke with Agnes the office manager who couldn’t have been more helpful and nice.When I saw the doctor he had a very nice bedside manner and explained everything to me perfectly. Afterwards I saw the surgical coordinator who made sure all my questions were answered before I departed the office. Dr. Shakiba will be performing my surgery and I feel confident that he will do a good job!
Before I went to see Dr. Shakiba I was in a lot of pain for more than two months. After seen a few doctors with no luck, I went to the emergency room, there the doctor diagnosed me and advised me to go see a Urogynecology since there was nothing they could do for me. I found Dr. Shakiba on line and decided to call since his reviews were very good, they gave me an appointment for the following day. On my first visit he explained to me exactly what my problem was and the treatment that I needed, after only one treatment out of three I never had the pain again. Dr. Shakiba is the best.
This review is for my most recent visit on 10/26/2021 and for even more a prior surgery in 2016. Dr. Shakiba and his staff are wonderful. He is hands down one of the best Doctors I have ever had. Perhaps even the best. As a healthcare worker that is not something I say casually as I am pretty particular. In 2016 I saw him for a second surgical opinion and decided that day that he was going to be the surgeon for me. He took the time and patience to listen and to elaborate on what he thought was this issue. He also explained why previous interventions with my general gynecologist had not been successful long term or caused other issues over time. My one regret was not finding him sooner. His diagnosis was correct and confirmed by the surgical pathology report. I deeply appreciate and value his candor, demeanor and skills. I have even referred a few friends to him.At present I am still weighing my surgical options for a different issue. Once again I value the information and time he has given to me. His honesty, sincerity and compassion are the tops. His office staff is great and very efficient and kind and his PA Nicole is great.

I have been wanting to write this post about how extraordinary my experience with this doctors office has been every single time I have eithered called or visited. I have sat in front of my computer, not knowing where to begin to express the magnitude of gratitude that I have towards everyone I encountered working there. It’s hard to find the words to truly express how life changing my experience has been here. After visiting so many doctors and hospitals, I began to feel more like a lab rat than a patient in pain. Pain that affected my entire life and its quality. I have polycystic ovary syndrome and endometriosis. I felt heard here. I felt compassion here. I finally feel that I have an entire team of people that really see me, and really want to help. I prayed so hard the morning I found their number. I called crying and in pain and they told me to come in right away. Cynthia and Kaylin at the front desk were kind, accommodating, welcoming and best of all personable and relatable. Everyone in the office is, Agnes, Lauren, Jackie all amazing. Even the staff who didnt see me but I passed in the hallway, all were kind and nice. Joannie, thank you for your patience, your kindness, and how you go above and beyond for your patients to make sure they get what they need and understand everything. Dr. Khashayar Shakiba and Dr Kolesnikova,so many doctors have made me feel like a number and not a person. Besides my primary, Dr. Kvetny, I lost trust in doctors. Until the two of you. You both made me feel heard, understood,safe and gave me hope that there is a light at the end of this tunnel. Most importantly, you found a way to be compassionate but honest and I respect that. Dr Kolesnikova,I remember you being the last person I looked at before my surgery and looking into your eyes, feeling safe. I know my journey isn’t over yet, but I thank God, I have doctors and an amazing staff that will be there for me to help make my quality of life better and better. Thank you and I recommend this office to everyone looking for answers and actually finding doctors that work to find the solutions. God Bless You All.
Dr Shakiba is very knowledgeable, very professional and has excellent bed side manner. He kindly explained my problem and his recommended treatment, using new technology to help me visualize and understand my situation in a very simple way, His staff were all very friendly and helpful in all of aspects of my visit too , which made my visit much more agreeable.
From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly kind, helpful, and patient. During my first visit, I was in a good amount of pain so I was not the easiest patient, however the staff and Dr. Shakiba were still very understanding. They have sufficient parking, and the staff answered my questions in a kind, professional manner every time I spoke with them. I have been to many specialists and most rush you, judge you if you are in pain, are not sympathetic, do not make eye contact, nor listen to what you are saying. Dr. Shakiba, however, was the exact opposite for he listened to everything I had to say, was patient with me, was sympathetic to my pain and new diagnosis, and made the time to answer all of my many questions. Also, he is an experienced and knowledgeable physician. I have seen over 8 specialists in this area of medicine over the past 10 years as well as different specialists to help with my current symptoms and diagnose me, however they either misdiagnosed me, could not help, or gave up trying to help me. Finally after all these years, I have found a doctor who was able to not only diagnose me but diagnose me correctly. This office doesn’t even take my insurance, yet because of my positive experience, I still choose to continue with care from Dr. Shakiba.
Where to begin about Dr. Shakiba and the entire staff here! I booked an appointment with him online on a Saturday, and they got me in that following Tuesday. I had been having problems for 8+ years that went undiagnosed. Jessica, the PA, brought me back immediately (no wait time at all) and listened to my symptoms. I was nervous and she was kind and understanding. When Dr. Shakiba came in, after hearing my symptoms, he diagnosed me then and there. YEARS later and countless doctors could not figure out the reason for my pain. The only way to be 100% (he was 95% sure of my diagnosis) was to have a robotic procedure and see. He spent almost an hour discussing everything with me, as I was shocked by the diagnosis. Upon leaving, he told me that if I did want to have the procedure done, to get in touch with his surgical coordinator Joannie. Her and I have had multiple phone calls and she is just THE BEST at what she does! I had asked her to get something approved by my insurance, but it was quite last minute. Although she was extremely busy, she went out of her way to set everything up for me and put a rush on it so it would be ready for the day of my surgery. She kept in touch with me, checked in and helped me with every step. I couldn’t be more grateful to everyone.The day of my surgery, Dr. Shakiba calmed my nerves, as did the staff at Hackensack. A few days later, Jessica called from the office to check on me. All in all, this is one of the most amazing and caring doctor’s and offices I have ever been to.Thank you Dr. Shakiba, Joannie, Jessica and the rest of the staff!
Dr Shakiba is the best I highly recommend him . He took his time to explain everything to me and my mom even i wasn’t there he answered all the questions for me. Through the phone and give me a best option to help my mom.

Dr. Shakiba is amazing. He is easily the most progressive and knowledgeable physician I have seen in this specialty. He is always very attentive and each visit is comprehensive. He doesn’t rush and really validates the patient’s experience. Dr. Shakiba was really wonderful after surgery as well and the hospital staff spoke so highly of him. My outcome this far has been better than I allowed myself to hope for. I consider myself lucky to have found him and urge anyone in need of help with urogyn issues to seek his care!

I had pelvic surgery 2 weeks ago for a prolapsed uterus, bladder sling and hysterectomy. After very little discomfort for 2 days , I felt as if I never had surgery. Dr. Shakiba is a great surgeon. I had complete confidence in him as I entered my surgery and I can only say Im so glad I found him. Hes the best !5 years later .. all great .. Dr Shakiba is a caring wonderful doctor. After 10 years of going to various OBGYN’s and being told my pain was “in my head”, Dr.Shakiba took one look at me and was able to accurately diagnose me. I had surgery and am now feeling a thousand times better. It took a decade, but I finally got the help I needed.
I had a complicated pelvic prolapse and after much consideration, decided to have surgery with Dr. Shakiba. He is very knowledgeable and thorough and I trust his expertise. The staff is friendly and attentive. I recommend him if you are in need of a urogynecologist.
Brought Mom here when she was referred by her gastro. Setting up an appointment was immediate. The arrival process was smooth and the staff is very nice. Everyone had a smile regardless of the masks on their faces. Very nice vibe and Mom was very happy with the Dr Shakiba. He made her feel very comfortable and secure about any of the recommendations. Agnes was extremely helpful on the phone, giving me all the information I needed to schedule an appointment. Everyone in the office was very helpful, and they really take the time to make sure you understand everything. Joanne went over the details and made the reality of needing this surgery a little less overwhelming. I left the office feeling confident in the Dr and our plan.
Dr Shakiba as well as Loren and Gaelyn are wonderful. I can not stress enough that aside from being caring….they really do everything to help and resolve medical issues. My treatments have been incredibly successful. Highly recommend this practice.

I have been sent from dr to specialist to specialist and finally found Dr. Shakiba. A nerve specialist in the endometriosis world ! I have my surgery coming in two weeks to remove two cysts and clean up endometriosis which is causing me a lot of pain. I’m am going into surgery confident and looking forward to a more comfortable life and making babies !! Very thankful to have found this office. The staff is lovely — especially Joanie. Very helpful! Dr. Shakiba is what all doctors should be like. On my first visit, after examining me, he took the time to thoroughly explain to me and my husband what I was suffering from and then he explained in detail what my options were. I feel so much better after my surgery last Aug. 10. Dr. Shakiba is an excellent surgeon and his bedside manner is second to none. I would recommend him without any hesitation. Dr. Shakiba deserves 10 stars for “Super Excellent”.

Dr. Shakiba is a great physician. He is always pleasant and has a good bedside manner. He explains things and always has someone in the room for your comfort. I understand doctors are very busy and see many patients daily. I was a teacher and had many students but I always followed up and knew who they were. I’ve often felt he has no idea who I am. I do believe at the moment he does because I recently had septicemia. Let me make it very clear he had nothing to do with my septicemia. But when I called and explained what happened to the PA the very next visit he seemed more familiar with my case. I felt like he knew exactly who I was for the first time. It felt like a really good visit. Patients want their doctors to know who they are.
The whole group at women’s pelvic surgery are amazing, everyone there is so kind and so professional. Dr. shakiba is one of a kind I’ve been going to him for a couple years now and I would never go anywhere else. He did my surgery he help diagnose what was going on with me when no one else could. We were so fortunate to have found Dr. Shakiba for our 93-year-old mother. He has been the answer to our prayers. Without going into great detail, I will say that my mother has what is considered a relatively minor condition that was not managed well by another doctor, being that she wound up in the hospital with sepsis. Thanks to Dr. Shakiba, both her quality of life and independence have been restored to some degree. Dr. Shakiba spent a good deal of time with her and also very clearly and patiently discussed with me and, on other visits, with my sister exactly what the situation was and what he would be doing. My mom, my sister and I are relieved and grateful that my mom is now in his capable hands. Jess and the rest of the staff are wonderful as well. Five stars all around.
My visit was timely, the office waiting room was not crowded (which usually indicates too many appointments scheduled), and professional. Dr. Shakiba and his staff was awesome. He simplified what my problem was where I could understand it and make the best decision for my situation. I can understand why his other patients gave him such great reviews.
Dr. Shakiba has an incredibly amazing depth of medical knowledge across different specializations that he is able to draw from at any given moment. He has the quick capacity to synthesized his data base to apply individualized approaches to help his patients get well. If other doctors have been unable to help, he’s your man. He also has the knack for being a good listener, is able to alleviate any fears or problems a patient may be having over their issues, and is truly caring.
After going to an outrageously expensive doctor in Manhattan for an consultation, I luckily stumbled upon Dr. Shakiba on the internet. I felt very comfortable from the moment I met him and immediately trusted him. I had surgery with him on September 21 excision of endometriosis, myomectomy, and some other things he searched for based on suspicion from his thorough history taking during my pre-op appointment. My symptoms are already better and I am very happy I found him. He is an honest man and does not take advantage of you financially like some doctors in the city. Also want to mention the staff at Hackensack was great.

After being diagnosed with large uterine fibroids several years ago I put off addressing the issue until the symptoms worsened at which point I knew I needed to consult with a specialist. Upon meeting Dr. Shakiba I immediately felt at ease and after the consultation knew I could put my trust in him despite being very anxious about having surgery. Four months post surgery I am thankful every day that I decided to go ahead with surgery and chose Dr. Shakiba to perform it. I hadn’t realized the extent to which the fibroids had impacted my quality of life. My only regret is not finding Dr. Shakiba sooner. I recommend without hesitation.

I did not have good experience with Dr Shakeeba.He gave me Emsella chair treatment without fully understanding my condition and it did not suit me at all.It gave me intense muscular pain and when I mentioned this to him, he said it was a test !! He is over confident and does not give enough time during the visits. He kept suggesting surgery for me even though it was not reuquired. I switched to another doc who is much better.

Dr. Shakiba is very skilled in his craft. He is very knowledgeable with a warm bedside manner. I told him today God Bless your hands as he showed me a video of the surgery I had and explained to me exactly what was corrected in laymans terms. I also got pretty sick after the surgery due to be sensitive to anesthesia and he was able to be reached off hours to help. If your considering making an appt., in my experience he is top notch!
Reviews were great which lead me to making an appointment for my mother.We arrived early to the appointment and was seen soon after. She was examined, a diagnosis given and a solution provided.The solution provided was a bit confusing which lead me to questions and received more of a confusing answer. The conversation was going so quickly I felt they were in a rush or just wanted the office visit to be over.With that being said, we left feeling as if my mothers insurance was not good enough to be accepted or possibly our race was an issue. I have interacted with many doctors in my lifetime due to my mothers health condition but we have never felt the way we did when we left Dr Shakibas office.My elderly mom was so bothered by the visit that she called the office the next day for a better explanation. My mom spoke to Joani who then got involved to justify the confusion. She thoroughly explained the misunderstanding as the doctor had claimed it was.There was definitely a misunderstanding but only because the solution to the problem was not explained correctly by the Dr and staff in the room at that time.This is an unfortunate situation and therfore we will not be returning for future visits, surgery or treatments.Thank you Joani for your help with this matter!

Dr. khashaya Shakiba is the best surgeon the 🌎 world has to offerI was so afraid of getting a surgercal procedure done, but when I went in for my first visit .upon him reading my ultrasound and examing me.he explained to me the procedure that was best for me .I had fibroid and would bleed for even 15 days. Sometimes, the pain was unbelievable. Had my 6 week post op visit, I feel great, so much better and so happy to have found Dr. Shakiba. On our first appointment about 3 months ago I had just gone through the most painful menstrual cycle yet, and looking for surgical solutions to remove a fibroid that had been incorrectly treated by other doctors in the past, it unfortunately grew to 14.9cm within my uterus. The pain and discomfort it was causing me, especially during my cycle had become unbearable, thankfully I met Dr. Shakiba and we put a plan together for my myomectomy. Its been 6 weeks now and I am so happy with the results. Thank you! :)

Dr. Shakiba has been a pivotal health care provider in restoring my health. From proper diagnosis, to successful robotic surgery and giving me confidence in my recovery. I am very thankful for him, his staff and Hackensack University Medical Center.
Dr. Shakiba was recommended to me by my main gyno, Dr. Mazzone (shes great btw). My experience with Shakiba himself is great, but my experience with his staff was...not so great. Let me explain.I called his office and asked the receptionist if my insurance would take him and she said yes, so off I went. I got to his office and waited for my appointment for about an hour, but thats fine because doctors are busy people and he was caught up with a patient. After looking at a few of my files, we set up an appointment to for a Hysteroscopy and possibly shave down an intrauterine septum. The day of the procedure, however, I was told to come in rather early. This resulted in me waiting for 5 hours. This is more of a communication problem between the receptionist rather than Dr. Shakiba himself, though. Later on Im told that, as a precaution, Dr. Shakiba recommended to do a Laproscopy in the case that he may need to due to any complications. The procedure goes well (and for any of those wondering, we didnt have to do the Laproscopy). Side effects I had after my surgery was bloating and spotting, and that lasted for about 2 days. Overall, it went well. Time passes and I get a bill in the mail from Dr. Shakibas office saying that, contrary to what the receptionist told me, they are not under my insurance plan. Basically, the letter says theres a recommended lesser amount to pay, and if that amount is not accepted by the doctor, you have to pay the larger amount. Dr. Shakiba accepted the lesser amount.Now, Dr. Shakiba is a great doctor and actually followed up with me about any grievances that I had. Its clear he is knowledgable and is a careful surgeon. My main complaints would be with the staff that told me he was under my insurance plan, and whom caused me to wait for 5 hours for my procedure. Dr. Shakiba does his best to clear up any situation and such, so hats off to him. I read in an earlier review that his staff has the tendency to overbook him and whatnot. But again, the doctor himself is great and quite helpful.
Dr Shakiba is an experienced and professional physician who listens to his patients and provides clear explanations. He and his office staff were prompt in providing answering and solutions to all my needs. I had a Mid Uretral Sling RePlacement yesterday and I am home today and feeling great. Thanks to Joannie, Surgical Coordinator for her patience and for her answering all my 100 questions.
Dr. Shakiba spent the time necessary to go over all of my surgical options. He provided pros and cons of each option, while making me feel at ease with whatever option I choose. He didn’t rush through anything and made sure I was thoroughly informed and that I had enough information to feel comfortable in making my decision.
I was referred to Dr Shakiba from my own GYN. He did not disappoint. His staff is friendly as is he. And he did everything to accommodate my situation in a timely manner. I highly recommend him.
I’m so thankful that I found this excellent specialist. He was able to help me immediately with my very uncomfortable situation. Most importantly though , is that he listened carefully to my long story ; I have rarely experienced that with other providers He is very knowledgeable & skilled physician with good technique with exam & procedures. The visit was very comfortable & reassuring which I seriously needed at that time as my problem caused me great emotional upset distress. I would highly recommend Dr Shakiba to care for urogynecological issue.
