This OB/GYN is exceptional beyond compare. Courtney Brown was able to see me ASAP to address some issues I have been having. Courtney Brown is extremely knowledgeable and thorough, as well as personable, kind, and compassionate. I knew I was in great hands. She ordered all of the appropriate tests to determine the root cause of my issue right then and there. I will forever be grateful. The entire staff at this practice is extremely warm and friendly. They constantly ensured my comfort throughout my appointment. I have most definitely found my OB/GYN practice for life!

Completely disappointed in this office. The schedulers and front office staff were completely unprofessional and unhelpful. I drove almost 2 hours for this OB because I have a very high risk pregnancy and their reviews were amazing. After multiple phone calls, 2 accounts made for me and multiple schedule changes, I assumed they had correctly booked my appointment with them. I was running late, called and they said they were still able to see me. Come to find out the schedulers double booked (even my original time was double booked). I was then told they could see me at 10:45, so I agreed and started checking in. They then came to me and said they actually can’t see me at all today. Mind you I am in the lobby filling out paperwork for them. I spoke to a very helpful and kind woman who made an effort and told me they did have a 3:30 that day. After seeing how careless they treated me with a simple appointment, I made the decision to not be seen by them. As a high risk patient, I need the best and most attentive care, which I had not gotten from the get-go. I’m sure their doctors and nurses are amazing, but this experience alone was completely horrible. 4 hours of driving in one day, pregnant and with a 5 month old child. I would recommend you completely confirm everything multiple times. This was such a terrible experience.

Short version why this group receives one star1) They made us pay a delivery deposit, lied about telling insurance, were paid by our insurance more than what was billed to us such that we should receive a portion of our money back, resistant to give us our money back and now has kept the money for other mystery reasons without our approval or without a bill.2) The manager (per report) keeping delivery deposit money for non delivery reasons without an explanation or without our approval has led to us finding inconsistencies between the billing for us and our insurance that we are going to investigate. The behavior with the billing/staff from #1 makes us suspicious of what we found and what more we are to find.It is unfortunate that great physicians can have such poor staff that brings them down. For each hour of great experiences we have had with the surgeons we have had multiple hours of phone calls and incorrect billing or scheduling by incompetent front office staff.------I HATE that I have to leave this kind of review since the physicians we worked with (M. Balat, Zeid) are excellent physicians and surgeons. However the front office staff/billing is so incompetant and the recent behavior of the manager have led us to investigate to our past charges and has raised questions regarding their billing to us and our insurance in general. Hopefully this will alarm the surgeons to what is going on with their patients in their practice and they will work to fix this as we investigate our own billing over the past 2 years further.The trigger for our investigation is a 500 dollar deposit we were mandated to pay for the deliver of our twins months prior to their delivery date. I was resistant for this since I expected to reach our maximum deductible and wanted to make sure any amount of payment for the year was fully accounted for by insurance. My additional fear was that we would owe less than 500 to the group from insurance since there would be multiple bills and my experience with the medical field of getting your money back is poor. After multiple discussions with billing that my very pregnant wife had to stressfully deal with, we acquiesced to their request with the agreement that they would notify insurance of our payment of 500 dollars so that it would be accounted for our deductible.Months later we had our beautiful boys delivered (again, great patient care by the physicians) and we found that our insurance paid for most of their serves such that what we owed the practice would be approximately half the amount we paid in our deposit (As feared). We thought it would therefore be a straightforward plan to get our extra paid money back since the insurance paid the group.Whats been going on for the past 6 months has been complete nightmare for my wife, who is taking care of newborn twins, calling regularly for months to try to get our money back and being avoided by all relevant staff. We finally were told this week we would be given back the overpaid amount and when we went to pick up the check today at the agreed upon time, we were only given about half the amount... per the front office staff the manager had looked at our previous billing and decided that we owe more money and took it upon themselves to deduct this amount from the amount we gave them as a deposit for the delivery without any explanation. Anyone we could ask about this was conveniently out of the office at 1:30 in the afternoon.So now we are looking into our actual bills and we are finding inconsistencies into what was being billing to us and our insurance. We have already found a couple of issues on our end which I cannot elaborate on at this time in case we will have to pursue other avenues for recovery of payments. I would love to get more clarification from the office but every call we are told anyone who can help is out of office.

Dr.Isam Balat and his team were so kind and helpful during my visit. I left his practice because I moved but I moved back and it’s been 4 yrs and Dr. Balat still remembered me!He is in an incredible doctor, I first came to see him when I was 25 due to pain from endometriosis. He took care of all my concerns, I have had two surgeries to help with the pain, then I was able to have two babies and now I am in forties and he is guiding me through the new symptoms of my age.Thank you for being a doctor who cares for their patients. You make discussing womanly topics at ease due to your confidence and knowledge of your field. ☺️

As a healthcare professional I’m very disappointed in this clinic. I made my first appointment two weeks ago and I made sure they took my insurance. They called me this morning a day before my appointment that they don’t take my insurance. Very unprofessional to let the patient know a day before. Sadly now I have to find another provider and wait another two weeks. Please change your system.

That he was kind, patient and listen to the concerns of the pregnant mamas. When I called to confirm I learned he was out of practice but, his son was continuing. So I’ve giving his son Dr. Michael Balat a try. As a result, I have to say I’m happy. He listens to me as well and makes sure to wait and see if I got all my questions out gives me suggestion to help prevent problems that I experienced in my last pregnancy. I have searched for answers for so long as to give insight as to why I suffered from so many gynecological issues. I sought a second opinion from Dr. Balat (senior) and was able to diagnose and come up with a game plan. He explained to me what was going. It seems like a lifetime of living with progressively worse symptoms and today I got my answer. I cried in his office, unintentionally because it was just the fact of knowing. I am so happy I found someone who was willing to listen

Horrible experience overall. I was originally expecting to be been by Dr. Michael Balat not the other doctor. During the visit, I barely was able to understand some of the details from the ultrasound screening. I was told once my results arrive the nurse will reach out to me. Days went by and no one reached out to me. I received confirmation by email that the results came in last Saturday and when i tried to view them i didn’t have access. I emailed my request for access but with no responses. I had to contact them and request for access and asked why no one has reached out to go over the results with me. The front desk indicated that they have been busy. As of today U still don’t have Dr. Bilal or his nurse to contact me about my results. As a patient who transferred over based on the online reviews given, I am highly disappointed as to the experience I had to go through and will be seeking a new physician.Communication and organization works hand in hand. I take my health seriously and expect the ideal physician to feel the same way. I don’t feel this provider understands that.

I have been coming here for over 20 years. My doctor has changed every few years. I have never had an issue with a doctor or nurse. I really miss Dr. Luna. My care has been pretty good. However recently it has taken a turn for the worst. They have a new offic clerk Claudia who is so rude. When you walk in she ignores you. No greating at all even when standing in front of her and looking directly at her. Then she will proceed to get on the phone and check in patients that arrived after you. For you to sit there patiently and she marks you as a no showThen she claims your insurance has not be verified so that cant see you anyway. No compassion or regard for others. No customer service skills. After a week of waiting for an appointment to not be seen by any doctor, paying for parking, and to be treated so rudely I think its time to find a new OBGYN.

I was referred by a close friend so I am a new patient for Dr. Isam Balat Sr. He has wonderful bedside manners. He took his time and gave me the opportunity to ask questions. I’m too excited to have him as my new Obgyn! Also, the staff were very nice and helpful.

Dr. Michael Balat has been a blessing for our little family. We have experienced precious pregnancy loss and coming to him has been the best decision. He is compassionate, listens and NEVER rushes you and also is just overall so respectful. His nurses are really great too. Dr. Islam Balat was my mom’s OBGYN and delivered me, he was my OBGYN for most of my life and both Dr. Islam Balat and his son, Dr. Michael Balat delivered my son via c-section. They are incredible doctors, they genuinely care about their patients and their lives. They ask about my mom, grandmother, my husband, and my son each time I see them. I wouldn’t dream of having a different OBGYN. Each time that I have gone to other doctors that were closer to my home, I always end up back with the Balats.

I have been a patient at this clinic for 18years best decision I ever made he delivered both of my kids. The atmosphere is welcoming the staff is loving and the Dr’s bedside manner is sweet, kind and patient.

Dr. Michael Balat has been a lifesaver. I was on the verge of needing a blood transfusion when I came to him, very sick and suffering from excessive bleeding due to uterine fibroids. I’d already had several procedures with different gynecologist with no relief.Dr. Balat is extremely knowledgeable in fibroids and an excellent surgeon. He removed the fibroids and inserted and IUD. Three years later I am no longer anemic and have not bled since. The surgery process and recovery was a breeze.Dr. Balat’s bedside manner is excellent and I always enjoy going in for my yearly paps. He is sure to ask how I’m doing and address any and all concerns. If I am experiencing issues, his staff is always quick to get me an appointment and I never have to wait long.It’s hard to find good doctors that genuinely care. I’m so grateful I found this doctor and wouldn’t go to anyone else!

I looked this place up and saw how great the reviews were Im currently 26 weeks pregnant and was looking to change physicians because I wanted to have my daughter at Memorial Hermann as you should be able to choose where you deliver your baby its very important..I called this facility at 24 weeks and they wouldnt schedule me until they received my medical records which I was having a difficult time getting from my physician once I got them which took me about a week in a half dropped them off they said the doctor would look over my records and then was told I was too far along to be treated Im sorry but that is ridiculous I informed my current physician what had happened and she said she had never heard of that before and shouldnt have been denied care so she told me to call UT Physicians they scheduled me immediately! So I will be having my daughter at Memorial Hermann thanks to them not Plaza OB-GYN! they didnt even consider how much time it took me to get them my records and the drive it took as well to get there.. very inconsiderate tbh

I’ve been coming to Plaza OB-GYN facility for 15 years. One of my church members referred me because Dr. Balat delivered her baby and he exceeded her expectations. I absolutely love Plaza OB GYN. The staff is very polite and professional from start to finish, I promise you will never catch a bad day with this office. Dr Isam Balat is an excellent doctor! This was my first major surgery and i was very nervous and afraid to address my large fibroids along with excruciating pain and multiple cycles within the month. He listened to my concerns and objections and answered all my questions and concerns. On the day of the surgery everything with extremely well and I began to recover quite quickly ahead of the healing curve. During the post op follow-up visits him and his staff were very supportive and friendly and generally cared about my progress as a patient. I have such a better quality of life now and I attribute that to Dr. Islam Balat and his expertise. So blessed to have found such a great doctor.

Dr. Isam Balat is phenomenal! Before I found him (via recommendation from a family member) I had been to 5 other OBGYN’s who could not help me and would just tell me I was too overweight and never find the root of the problem. Since seeing Dr. Balat I have had 2 kids and yes I need help with my weight and he is helping me there. But he is extremely thorough and takes care of me as a whole from the inside out. Not to mention he is kind, compassionate and personal. I love the nursing staff as well and even his son has come to the practice since I’ve been going and I’ve seen him a couple of times. As crazy as sounds, Ive been with Dr. Balat for over 40 yrs. I adore this man. Im so happy for his successful business and his expansion throughout the years. He was there for me like no other doctor would have been through my pregnancy. Our child was born 12 weeks early and he was there for us at all times. He always treated me as if I was his family. Hes delivered two of our grandchildren. I can highly recommend this Practice without any reservation whatsoever! His staff has always been very professional on every level. You can’t put a price on the service you will receive here. I LOVE THEM. Dr Balat treats me like a DAUGHTER of his. He reconnected something in my abdomen that had me numb for over 22 years. Before him I couldn’t feel my hand on the bottom of my stomach when I touched it and I would get numb in my legs and I was no longer tickerlish under my feet 👣 but now I can’t stand to be tickled again. Dr Zeid has been so helpful since my fertility issues, my also diagnosing my endometriosis and throughout my pregnancy. He has been very patient along with Debra they’ve always answered all of my questions and concerns and have never made me feel uncomfortable I recommend all of my friends to this office and Dr Zeid.

Dr. Balat is amazing.... hands down I give him 5 out of 5 stars but my rating would be a 3 out of 5 for the staff. The ones that answer the phones are ridiculous and kind of rude and dismissive. The nursing staff is a bit incompetent as well. Its so sad because we encounter them more than we do the doctor and its always a nightmare. In 6 years this is my first year contemplating going to a different clinic.Update: thank you for the reply but you dont need to know my name in order to address the complaints. Tell the staff to do better and have manners when dealing with patients. The doctor is amazing. His staff needs work! Also, I just looked and there are 100s of reviews that say the same thing about the staff. So my advise would be dont put too much effort trying to investigate who I am channel that energy in to etiquette training for the staff.

My visits are always easy-breezy. Their system is efficient and time-conscious. All their staff are friendly and extremely professional.You can tell Dr. Balat is a seasoned OB because of how he knowledgeably explains your condition and gives you options for medications as well as home remedies.I also love how they respect a patients autonomy over their body and do not sound like theyre forcing tests or surgeries on you. In case surgery is an option, they would explain how the procedure is done so you can decide ahead if you want to do it or not.

Dr.Zeid is fantastic. Always to the point and answers any questions i have. So far my experience has been nothing but pleasant. I have yet to deliver but I will update on my experience after delivery.Check in and check out staff are always friendly and welcoming. The nurses are all super nice and make me feel comfortable. I have been to other clinics with grouchy staff and this clinic is the opposite, they always treat clients respectfully & with smiles on their faces.Facilities are VERY clean every visit. Lobby/waiting area is immaculate, cozy and spacious.Service times are fast. I have never waited more than 10 minutes to be seen. I’m usually in and out within an hour or less.

Appt was for 3:30 they were a little slow on getting me to the back and me seeing the Dr. But overall it was a last-minute appt and I was just happy to be seen. Everything else was professional and on point. Dr Balat is a very caring physician and thats why hes been my physician for 40 years

I suffered with endometriosis and PCOS for years. Dr. Balat did so many things to help us conceive before they became mainstream knowledge. Dr. Isam Balat is the absolute best. I suffered for over 10 years from pelvic pain, unbearable periods, and a host of other issues. I saw countless gynecologists and none of them were able to offer answers or solutions. On my very first visit with Dr. Balat, in 2018, he told me I was suffering from endometriosis. He performed a partial hysterectomy in 2019 and has been taking care of me since. I hope he never retires because finding a doctor so caring and empathetic is life changing. His bedside manner is top-notch and he really does care about what his patients are experiencing and how they are feeling. I will gladly drive an hour to see him - it’s completely worth it.

Today I was very impressed with the service I received. I didnt have to wait long as Ive had to in the past. And Dr. Michael Balat was very professional and helpful today and took his time. I must admit my last few visits were not so good. But today was great, and I felt my doctor was genuine and cared.

I don’t normally leave reviews, in fact this might be my first one. Dr. Michael Balat delivered my son last August and I had a smooth, non problematic delivery. I’m very grateful for that! However, Dr. Balat condescended me while I was in pain during my IUD insertion saying it was all in my head. The pain I felt must have been because of his negligible insertion, since a few months later I became very sick and it came out. This can be life threatening, so I consider myself very lucky!Additionally, his staff at the front desk were rude to me during a mix up of billing. They sent bills to an address that we had since moved from. It’s 2023, there should be emails for these sorts of things, especially if everyone in the office is incapable of telling us our balance in-person. We were happy to pay off our balance once it was explained to us, however, it was like pulling teeth to get someone to sit down with us and show us what we owed.

As a black woman, finding a new OBGYN this time around was a bit more anxiety inducing than normal. I had suspected I had PCOS for sometime, but other doctors wrote me off saying that I didn’t have the symptoms.When Dr. Isam Balat entered the room, I mentioned I thought I might have PCOS and without hesitation he directed the nurse in the room to prepare the ultrasound. Shortly after that he sent me to get blood work to confirm a PCOS diagnosis. He heard me and he acted immediately.I know now I have PCOS and how to treat to treat it holistically. I am forever grateful for that experience.

I only say something because they were really disrespectful and just made my first appointment so nerve racking bc I thought everyone was going to be rude but that WASNT the case :)))) so Besides those rude ladies this place is still deserving of 5 stars.. the nurses and front desk lady’s are very nice dr Zeid is definitely understanding and listens to what you have to say or have concerns about he makes you super comfortable you can tell he is a good doctor for sure, he’s very serious but in a good way lol I look forward to every appointment knowing one it don’t take forever and 2 I’m super comfortable overall I just love it here- A’aliyah Guillory

Dr. Michael Balat is fantastic. He’s very attentive and answers all questions. The nurses are also great and the facility is VERY clean.Finding an OB-GYN can be very difficult however, I am so thankful I found one I am 100% comfortable with!

Originally I posted a 1 star rating due to the doctor I was seeing and ill leave his name out because I know he is overall a good doctor and has helped many others. Ive changed it to 5 stars because even though this doctor was unhelpful towards my particular needs, I have always been impressed by every single staff member, the receptionists and Nurse Paige. They are all amazing and deserve more than 5 stars

I’ve been coming to the clinic for about 4 months now meeting with Dr. Zeid. Before this experience, I had traveled to a majority of states to see doctors within the same field with the hopes of gaining clarity of some concerning issues I was having. My first appointment with Dr. Zeid was brain shocking. A normal person will probably be distraught with results, but during our first visit he was the only doctor to give me clear answers on why I was experience excruciating pain and showed me proof of why I was having that pain. He’s created a plan for me to eliminate the pain that I have been experiencing for at least 18 years and I must admit I’m already at least 60 percent in less pain than I was when I first started seeing him. The entire team there from the nurses to the staff are amazing and very respectful. I hope that you guys don’t take this as an understatement, but this clinic is amazing. I am relocating this week to a different state and will keep Dr. Zeid as my remaining OB due to his amazing work. Give these guys a chance you won’t regret it. ❤️

Dr. Balat has been my favorite Dr. for over 35 years. He has delivered my daughter and is extremely knowledgeable in his field. I travel from Humble to visit his office. The staff members are very patient and friendly. He stands out because, many years ago; I was told that it would be extremely difficult for me to have a child. Once I visited Dr. Balat, he was very patient with me and developed a plan of action, not TALK! Now, I have a beautiful young strong intelligent daughter; who is doing well and attending college. It is always good to visit him because it reminds me how God can place people in your path to make a difference. THAT DIFFERENCE IS DR. I. BALAT!!!!!!

I have nothing but great things to say about the doctors at this clinic. Dr. Isam Balat delivered me in 1991, my sister in 1993, and my brother in 1996. My mom has been going to him for 32 years and has had nothing but incredible things to say about him. I am now pregnant with my first baby and have been seeing his son, Dr. Michael Balat. He is always so helpful and patient during my visits. I never feel rushed when asking questions, and any time I am feeling nervous or worried about anything, he is quick to put me at ease and provide me with valuable information that I can take away and apply. I have been a patient of Dr. Balat’s for over 10 years. I am having my first child and feel so comforted that he will be delivering my baby. I love how patient, accommodating and understanding he is. He takes the time to answer any questions and is always will to let his patients walk in for emergencies instead of having to wait for a later date. I have been going to see Dr.Balat for way over 30 years he delivered my son who is now 26 years old.I love the location easy to get to and parking is very easy the atmosphere very calming and the nurses are amazing and very professional.

Dr. Balat and his team are professionals whom go out of their way to make sure you’re treated correctly. His bedside manners are unmatchable. Dr. Balat’s charisma and character make things go so smoothly and he treats you with the utmost respect. It is also so convenient that they have the bloodwork and ultrasounds and any other need right there at their clinic.

Dr Isam Balat delivered all 3 of my babies after Id previously been told that I would be unable to have children. 23 years later, I now see Dr Michael Balat and Im still just as pleased with the level of care that I receive at Plaza OB-GYN. They became a part of my family because they helped build it and continue to support it by keeping me healthy, not only physically, but mentally. They care for the whole soul and can assess where you are and what you need with such efficiency, its astounding. I was back in my car in less than a hour and had all of my needs addressed...and then some.

Dr. Balat is absolutely amazing!!! I can always talk to him and feel seen and heard. He has been my doctor for a long time and I just don’t want to think about him retiring. We he comes to see you in the hospital he sits and actually visits with you. I am a nurse manager so I know how rare this is in the hospital. I can’t say it enough….He is sooooo wonderful to his patients. Helen was also so pleasant and comforting. She really listens and makes you feel like you can share anything. I love Dr. Balat! He always makes me feel like I have his undivided attention when in the room with me and he listens and addresses my concerns. I’m going to be a little sad when he decides to retire.

Feels like I never left the place. Been going since Dr.Andrade was there. That being said at first I was iffy in returning since she left. As I always go with a female doctor, my choice but Dr.Zeid made it comfortable. Skipped a year of following up but glad I was able to make appt within days for my concerns. Great overall from staff and the Dr!!

I have been going to this clinic since I moved to the states in 2014 and used to go to Dr. Balat. then moved out of Texas and came back in 2019 and started seeing Dr. Louai Zayd. He is a great one of a kind. Very professional and knows what he is doing, listens very well to his patients which became rare nowadays from doctors and physicians. His answers and solutions are logical and healthy.I highly recommend his office and expertise.

Plaza OB/GYN has the most professional staff among all clinics I have visited while in the H town. Very kind and so attentive and never ignored messages or calls and when there, they treat you kindly and with care and love..I see Dr. Zayid and he is the top I believe. Very passionate and a great listener which is very important for Women’s health. Ive been going to Dr. Isam Balat for 20 years. He is one of the best Ob/Gyns in Texas. Ive moved out of Houston twice in the last 20 years and I always come back for my annual visits. His expertise and kindness is well worth the drive. Had terrible endometriosis as a teen. After surgery and treatment with Dr. Balat, no pain whatsoever ever anymore!
