I used to go to PP for all my personal Healthcare needs so I took my daughter for hers. If I could give less than 1 star I would. It started off questioning when I was informed that her insurance wasnt acceptable and there isnt any sliding scale fee at this location or any in Indianapolis further we would have to drive to Lafayette, IN to get services at the sliding scale fee rate. So I agreed to payment we were charged $98 which we were told is an upfront charge and it would come off of the bill at the end. When my daughter was done I was asked to pay an additional $117. My daughter informed me that all was done was a urinalysis and conversation. I was shocked at thus request so I asked for further clarification the receptionist immediately caught an attitude and was starting to get loud at front desk with a waiting room full of people.😳 I asked due to this being a HIPAA violation can I come to the back and we speak privately. She hurriedly and rudely ushered us to the back while muttering under her breath this is a HIPAA violation speaking of her speaking with me I assume. So when we get to the room in the back she closer the door, sat in a chair and turned and her whole body and faces me, legs gapped wide open in a confrontational stance. 😳 I was appalled, but unmoved. I asked for explanation of the remaining amount if the initial amount was supposed to minus the billed amount. Also, why was PP charging over$200 just for a urinalysis. She barked how the $98 was the office visit and the remaining was the costs for the 3 tests. So I asked and stated I see you are visibly upset by this point she was shaking her leg and just completely unpleasant; I apologized and informed her that I wasnt being disrespectful just an advocate by nature so I need some things explained. Moreover, she should state in the beginning the $98 was for the office visit and all other charges are additional. She told me thats why shes happy we have Bell Flower clinic to assist with these neesd then she requested what form of payment will I be using very rudely. I replied my credit card and gave it to her. She hurriedly made the payment and ushered us to back to the front where she rudely handed me the receipt. This was an unnerving and disrespectful treatment. I will never come here again!! Beware of the crazed receptionist and over priced procedures that doesnt cater to the SDOH population at all. Also, very poor for my daighters first personal experience we are african american and she expressed she felt the nurse didnt want to touch her or answer any of her questions. Beware!😢

I had made an appointment to get my IUD I’ve only had for a year out since my OB office wasn’t returning my calls. I also felt better going to PP to get it out since I knew they’d listen to me and not guilt me into keeping it, like some providers do. They saw me quickly and did my intake, only asking basic questions about my issues with my IUD and why I wanted it removed. No guilt, no attempting to get me to keep it longer. And then the provider came in shortly after and quickly removed it! I’ve been to this PP before for STD testing and felt comfortable coming back to get my IUD out. This PP location will always be my go to if I need to use their services again.
I was well cared for her for an IUD placement. Both the nurse and NP that I saw were extremely kind and made me feel safe and comfortable. They provided me with education on the IUD types and allowed me to make my own decisions during my care. I was treated with respect and the procedure was performed quickly and as comfortably as possible.
I have been trying to pay a $3.49 bill for several weeks now every time I actually get live help they tell me that theyre not able to take payments currently over the phone. Then when I get referred to the billing department nobody ever contacts me when they say that they will. Ive also asked for my account number several times and no one can tell me my account number so I can just pay the bill myself online,ya know since Ive also never gotten a paper bill sent to me. How am I supposed to pay my bill when theres no way for me to pay it apparently no one knows my account number I cant pay it over the phone I cant pay online I cant send in a check unless I have account number and information...Im still trying to pay the bill and its now two weeks beyond the initial post. I cant reach anyone and I call twice daily! My portal doesnt connect to anything, its all kinds of messed up, I cant get a new bill sent to me, billing doesnt call back or email back, the office doesnt take payment? and no one knows what my account number is so I can just pay it online.
I do not recommend making any appointments at any of the Planned Parenthood’s in the Indianapolis area. They have terrible scheduling. I had tried scheduling appointments twice within two weeks of each other and both times they were cancelled by PP after scheduling through their online portal with one excuse being that it was a telehealth day and the other that the nurse working that day wasn’t in my insurance network. Very poor scheduling options which make it very inconvenient for people who have to take off of work and make arrangements to meet appointment times. Again, very inconsiderate and do not recommend going here at all.
Ive been coming here since I was a teenager, and I used to love this place. Theyve helped me when other doctors couldnt. But as of today, Im sad to say I will no longer be going to PP. Four years ago I had an IUD placed after they told me insurance would cover it 100% and that I only had to pay my copay. Fast forward to this week, and suddenly I have an over $400 bill and wont see me until I pay it? Ive been there in the last couple years too, and no one made any mention of it then or when I called to make my appointment. Im not sure who or where someone screwed up, but Im done coming here or donating money.
Absolutely wonderful experience! I was accepted for who I was the moment I walked in the door. Everyone from the nurses to the receptionists were kind, supportive, and did everything they could to make me feel comfortable. I was recently laid off with no health insurance due to covid and they still did everything they could to make sure I was cared for without hurting my wallet. Thank you planned parenthood!!
LOVE this place! Went today for an annual check up and was a little bummed that I couldn’t get my test done today (due to having an abnormal PAP in the past, they needed those results prior to doing my exam), but it was my bad for not having my recs sent first. I showed up early and was also seen early, and everyone I interacted with was super nice and helpful. I was worried about using new (not well known) insurance after my job changed companies this year, but they had it in their system and were able to bill them. The clinician also went ahead and refilled my birth control today, even though I have to come back for my PAP test, which was really helpful. Will continue to come here and am happy to support Planned Parenthood!
After reading all the previous reviews I was a little nervous about going to this facility, but I must say I cant agree with any of them. I went into planned parenthood for testing but ended up leaving with an appointment for next week to get FREE birth control. I was very scared to go in there at first but I must say Im so thankful for the pleasant experience I had tonight. The ladies there were so incredibly helpful, non judgmental and genuinely caring. Normally I dont like to write reviews but I knew after reading some of the nasty things that were written before, I had to share my experience. Im so thankful that we have planned parenthood still around and Im so thankful for such knowledgeable, compassionate people. Thank you all again.
Heard planned pp overall could help get the hormones. Had issues with their site. Cant put inurance info in. No live help. Tried to call in several time. Left on hold longer than can be on hold or just dropped altogether. So now I have an appointment I am unable to cancel or even confirm. Guess they will figure it out when no one shows up for the time slot.
Amazing staff. Every time I come everyone is always so nice and takes the time to explain everything to me. They even helped me out with my pills when I didnt have enough money for the full amount. Lady at the front desk was understanding of my situation. Will definitely keep going back.
I have tried for a month now to get a referral that this location told me I needed. It took them 4 weeks to send the referral from the day they told me they would send it. I got to the appointment and they sent the wrong information and now I still cannot get the procedure needed because PP Midtown claims they sent the referral documents correctly. They are great for paps and are super knowledgeable, but if you think something deeper is going on, do NOT use this location.
Very inconsiderate people. Man was rude at the front desk and even tried not to see my child. They close the window to talk about you as if you cant see them. Absolutely no beside manners and zero respect for the new young adults. This location is a joke. Maybe if they obtain a whole new staff theyd be okay!
Worst planned parenthood I have ever been to (and I have always chosen this company as a provider because they care about women’s health and access to healthcare - however I do not think this location nor the provider exemplifies that standard at all). Poor customer service and wastes people time. I did not feel like the provider took my concerns seriously. Would not reccomend or return.
Incredibly welcoming staff! I Recently relocated to the area and have not been able to get a new primary care. My insurance was accepted with no problems. The wait time was low, I was in and out in no time.Will be a returning patient!
Absolutely hate this place. If you plan on calling them, dont. Nobody will answer. Theyre on lunch from the time they open until the time they close. The women are rude, inconsiderate and not careful. It took 10 minutes for the woman to draw my blood. Kept dropping things, running out of the room, forgetting things, having to start over etc. Felt like I was going to pass out. Ive been trying to get them to send positive test results that I got there to my primary doctor for a week. Big mistake asking them to fax something the day before Thanksgiving. This is something important that my doctor has to see before he can make an appointment with me. This place needs a whole set of new staff. Dont go here. This place is a joke
John the nurse practitioner has phenominal bedside manner, he made me feel so at ease and super informative. I felt so safe here and definitely intend on continuing service.
Their midwife was so gentle with my annual exam. Best Planned Parenthood experience Ive ever had, with a very talented and considerate staff.
I choose to go here over a private OB/GYN. They know and understand women. It is not just for those with out insurance. Its for any woman who wants an office and staff that understands and cares
