STAY AWAY from POMA! It’s the used car lot of egg banks. They fertilize eggs with the wrong sperm. Their egg donors test positive for hepatitis. The egg bank coordinator will sell your reserved eggs to someone else and take no responsibility. The embryology staff will give devastatingly incorrect results. The PA acts like a huffy middle schooler and will rudely blame everything on you. The CEO has no integrity and unprofessionally focuses on how hard her fertility journey was. I wish I had the time and energy to sit outside POMA with a billboard and bullhorn to warn patients. Please save your sanity, your fertility years and your money. There are many other amazing IVF clinics in the Seattle area to choose from. STAY AWAY from POMA!
First of all thank you! I cant say enough good things about my experience with Dr. Opsahl and the entire team at Poma fertility. From the very beginning of my fertility journey, they were incredibly supportive, caring, and professional. The whole team went above and beyond to make sure l felt comfortable and well-informed every step of the way.Im thrilled to say that thanks to their expertise and dedication, I was able to conceive and welcome a beautiful baby into the world. I truly felt like I was in the best hands possible throughout my pregnancy. If youre looking for a fertility doctor who genuinely cares about your well-being and success, I highly recommend DR. OPSAHL & DR. BEESLEY and the amazing team at POMA FERTILITY.
I had a great Experience with Poma fertility, I had a successful pregnancy with my second transfer. The first transfer was a fresh transfer which did not work and my second transfer was the frozen transfer which did work. I am thankful for the doctors for making this possible. The nursing stuff and front desk were also were nice and helpful. I had a good pregnancy and now we are blessed with our son!
I wish I could write a positive review for Poma Fertility, but unfortunately, my experience was marred by significant billing problems. Despite providing all the requested insurance information, they failed to bill my insurance on time, claiming a missing ID.They sent me the first bill three months after the service, well past the 45-day insurance billing period. This left me with no recourse to address the issue with my insurance or correct any potential errors. What was most frustrating was Poma Fertilitys refusal to take any responsibility, aggressively shifting the blame onto me. It seems this is not an isolated incident, as other reviews echo similar billing problems. If you are considering Poma Fertility, be prepared for potential billing issues. They may not be reliable in billing your insurance properly through established channels. While their medical services might be satisfactory, their administrative shortcomings can create unnecessary stress and financial burdens for patients.
This was not our first clinic we went to but I wish it was. The staff here were so professional and helpful from beginning to end. Great communication and we had great results starting our family. I would 100% recommend to anyone. Thank you Poma.
POMA Fertility is the best and I’m so glad that I ended up here for my egg-freezing procedure!Dr. Opsahl and Dr. Beesley are both very knowledgeable, approachable, and super-friendly! They are very honest and caring! All the staff are amazing and they treat you like a family! They all made this stressful journey much easier for me and they were always available to resolve my concerns immediately! Thanks to everyone especially to Victoria, my angel today, and Dr. Opsahl for the best care!Looking forward to continuing my treatment with this awesome team! 🙏🏻🥰
Weve had nothing but the best service and care from the team at Poma. Our nurse coordinator, Linda, always makes our complicated case super simple. As an out of town patient, she seamlessly makes sure my appointments and meds are set up to make my life as easy as possible and the process as successful and affordable as possible. Weve worked with them for 5 years and have 2 kids and another on the way. Its amazing to have the personal continuity of care!
We are so glad we found Poma! We had success on our first transfer. Dr Beesley was upfront and honest about our situation. We did have to make some tough calls, but I am so happy we did, because it worked. The entire team showed compassion and support through the process. Linda was such a treat to work with. We are incredibly grateful for the care we received. Our baby girl is due in November!
We had an amazing experience at Poma Fertility. After six years working with another facility in Seattle, we decided to try a different team. We received more information in our initial consult than we had in the six years working with the other company. The front staff is amazing. Our care team was thorough and patient. *Shout Out to Dr. Beesley, NP Meagan and Dr. Opsahl! The online portal is an easy way to send and receive information. We loved that there were no hidden costs and they have preferred pharmacies they work with to get you the best price on medications. We never felt like a just a number/paycheck when working with them. If you are on your fertility journey, and looking around, please, consider Poma, they changed our lives forever 👶
Poma Fertility is a calm and welcoming environment. The doctors and nurses really care about the patients. They want to help you reach your dream to become parents. They are extremely knowledgeable. I have never met a more loving team at any other clinic. I highly recommend them to those having a difficult time conceiving.
Poma Fertility is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a top-notch fertility clinic. Dr Opsahl is always in touch with latest research and his advise is well grounded in data. His staff professionalism and dedication to their patients are simply unmatched. I had the pleasure of using their services and I can confidently say that it was one of the best decisions I ever made. One of the most impressive things about Poma Fertility is their ability to combine cycles to save patients money. As someone who went through three cycles, the process was more affordable (vs other centers - I checked many others in Seattle area and Poma was one of the most affordable). The nurses at Poma Fertility are also exceptional. They were incredibly gentle during blood work and always made me feel comfortable and cared for. I appreciated their professionalism and expertise, which was evident in everything they did.The facility itself is also top-notch. Its modern, clean, and welcoming, which helped to put me at ease during my visits. And whenever I had questions or concerns, the team at Poma Fertility was always available to answer them promptly via the portal. I never felt like I was in the dark or left to wonder about anything.Ultimately, I was able to achieve my dream of having a child with Poma Fertility. The transfer worked from the first time. Im so grateful for everything that theyve done for me and would highly recommend them to anyone in need of fertility treatment. Their expertise, compassion, and dedication to their patients are simply unmatched.
We are so glad to choose Poma Fertility , they have the amazing team , the place is very welcoming and peaceful. We had so many struggles since we started, but Dr Opsahl always letting us calm and trying to helpWith the best possibility in the right time.Linda are amazing , I had so many questions and she quickly answered, she had so many patience with all my doubts. The day of our transfer I felt everyone in the room positive especially Dr Opsahl and that made me feel peaceful .When we got our positive and did our first ultrasound Linda’s happiness was the best part for me , they do care about you and want the best for you .We are very thankful , happy and excited to have our baby girl in our arms on March 2024 .Thank you Dr Opsahl , Linda and team .I highly recommend them!
Poma fertility was fantastic. They never gave up on getting me the ideal family. They used new treatments and tests. I had 3 children through them and appreciated everything they did. The staff is responsive and caring. The doctors and nurses all really cared about me and shared the downs and the ups.
I have many wonderful things to say about the team at Poma. I first started my IVF journey in 2019 after being recommended them by a friend. With their help, we have a beautiful boy. After a few years we tried again a few times without any luck, which was really difficult but they were so kind and supportive along the way. We decided to try again this winter and have been lucky enough to have an embryo stick! I’m forever grateful to Dr Opsahl, Dr Beesley, the amazing embryologists and nurse team for our precious family.
My husband and I went through POMA after spending almost 3.5 years with another clinic. POMA didn’t treat us like a number and came to us with compassion through the entire process. My previous clinic was not very aggressive with treatment and did not listen to my concerns. The clinical team at POMA was fantastic and really took everything in. I’ve seen every doctor in this clinic and for most of my care I have seen Dr. Opsahl (who is wonderful). The other two providers are also great. We completed IVF using Pomacare and completed two frozen embryo transfers and had our baby girl last September. We are eager to return for transfer number two!The only issue we had was around finance. However, I will say that with reaching out after the fact, POMA was able to effectively communicate and correct the error that had been made. It seems that they really do appreciate feedback and have corrected mistakes when they’re made. We have overall had a great experience.
I had a great experience at Poma Fertility. Dr. Beesley, Dr. Opsahl and Megan are very patient, assuring and knowledgeable. The nursing team is compassionate and will always brighten up your day. The clinic is modern and very well organized. Communication is efficient and timely. Education modules kept me informed every step of the way. I graduated from IVF and I feel so lucky to have been cared for by such a phenomenal team. I would definitely recommend this clinic to anyone seeking fertility treatment and IVF procedure.
My husband and I are super thankful for the team at Poma, they gave us our two beautiful children.Wed stated our infertility journey with a different clinic that made us feel more like a barcode with a bank account attached. A friend suggested Poma and we started working with their team in July of 2019. Our daughter was born in July of 2020, we were over the moon and so thankful! Then a little bit later we started thinking its now or never if we want to add to our family. So we did the whole process over again and had our second child in April of 2022.We couldnt have done it without them and it was so great to have made friends along the way.
This facility is wonderful! The staff are all amazing and it’s been a great experience since our first visit. Communication is very prompt and everyone is very sweet and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
Absolutely wonderful staff! Front desk receptionist were always kind and as helpful as possible, they also made us feel welcomed. They made sure we entered a warm and comfortable environment. The finance department made sure all payments for procedures were clear, direct and well understood. The nurses, doctors and supporting staff were all top notch. They were optimistic, realistic, informative and experienced. We KNOW they did their absolute best on every transfer which allowed us to maintain hope throughout the unsuccessful attempts. Fortunately for us we were able to achieve a successful transfer and our bundle of joy is now 1 year old. We couldn’t be happier that we chose POMA to take us through this journey, surely their attention to detail, knowledge and professionalism played a HUGE part in the procedures success!Everyone at their organization plays their role and the love for what they do can be seen from a mile away. If the procedure was not a success I’d be writing with a heavier heart but POMA would still be receiving 5 stars.
We found success in our first IVF cycle at Poma after a devastating failed cycle at another clinic. Hard not to give 5 stars for that alone! But more importantly, I felt treated like a human being instead of a statistic by every single Poma employee - the physicians, embryologists, nurses, phlebotomists, and the people at the front desk. The very first time I called to make an appointment, I was deciding between two clinics. JoLeigh picked up the phone and responded with such compassion and validation that I knew Poma was the place for me. Drs Beesley and Opsahl work together, so youll probably see them both, but Dr. Beesley managed the majority of my care. He is honestly one of the best medical providers Ive ever had - warm, responsive, respectful, accessible. He clearly thoroughly reviewed the medical records from our previous cycle before our first Zoom meeting, and already had a number of creative ideas for us. When I had questions or ideas about our plans along the way, Dr. Beesley responded promptly and with care. He made me feel like a valued member of my own team, not a science project. Infertility wreaks such havoc on your emotions, your relationship, your finances, your body... I promise that having a team who treats you like you matter makes all the difference in the world.
Going through fertility treatments is a tremendously taxing experience but the staff at Poma works really hard to help support and make an already tough situation a little easier. They were always available for a phone call and seemed truly sympathetic when our procedures were not successful. When we were blessed with the outcome we had prayed for, there was genuine joy from their team and that helped affirm that they really care. We look forward to using them again in the future. Thank you Poma!
We arrived at Poma Fertility with our hearts shattered. In our very first appointment, Dr. Opsahl had a completely different approach than we had previously in another clinic. He gave us hope that our plans to grow our family would work out. Linda was always a very caring and attentive nurse, always listened to our silliest concerns, and always validated them with affection and respect. All of the staff always saw us as patients, as human beings, and this is what we like most about POMA, we were treated as human beings, as patients, and not as businesses. Today we graduated from the clinic, we not only left with our hearts recovered but with a beautiful baby in my womb. Thank you so much to everyone at POMA for being with us on this journey! We dont have enough words to thank you and to recommend the splendid service you have provided us.
After not so pleasant experiences with other WA clinics I was happy to have the opportunity to meet with and work with the team at Poma. Both doctors were informative and took time with me and my husband during concerns and decisions we had a long the way and after many failed procedures and no successful pregnancies elsewhere we were over the moon to find that the changes that were suggested to us actually allowed us to have a successful retrieval, fresh transfer and successful pregnancy giving us our baby girl. In all of my appointments, scans, draws, surgeries etc I only had issues with one front desk person (not Jen) but someone else who failed to realize the compassion and patience she needed in her role towards women and families going through the trials we all were. I certainly shared my feelings with her rudeness and bad manners and never had an issue again. This team is above the league and I’m so grateful for them all!
We had 2 rounds of IVF (2nd one is still ongoing) at POMA and we always enjoy going in for all the check ups. Fertility treatments are highly stressful treatment to go through but we feel so much support from all of their staff. We had IUI from different clinics and also had consultation at different clinics as well, so we went through a few clinics but POMA is by far the best fertility clinic in our opinion. They are very caring professionals and always answer so many portal messages we send in a very timely manner. We still do not know what outcome we will have with this round but we wanted to write this review to show that we are forever grateful for their amazing support, skills and care.Good luck to anyone looking/thinking about fertility treatments and maybe give them a call 😀 Added bonus - They will actually answer the phone!! Human!! (wonderful ladies at front) We all know that’s just not happening anywhere these days.
I have 2 beautiful healthy babies thanks to this wonderful team. Every step of the process was explained clearly and efficiently managed. We had no delays and appointments were timely. Every staff person was kind, compassionate and able to answer (or find answers) to any question I had. I loved my experience at POMA and recommend them to all my friends who have any questions about fertility treatment options.
My partner and I had a great experience at Poma Fertility. We chose Poma after being left unimpressed with another fertility clinic, and it was a great decision. The entire staff is super friendly, and takes your concerns seriously. They are very supportive and helped us navigate the difficult journey of going through IVF and getting great results. Go in knowing that results are not garanteed, but they were very aware of latest technologies and cutting edge research. They seemed very up to date and knowledgeable in their practice.
All the staff at Poma Fertility are amazing. They are helpful and kind and truly care. We enjoyed our experience and welcomed a baby boy into our world because of all their help. We are eternally grateful to everyone at Poma!
My husband and I had a great experience with Poma. I felt the doctors made the fertility treatments less scary and intimidating. Dr. Opsahl and Dr. Beesley both recommended that my husband and I do IVF with a fresh transfer, and it worked! We got pregnant with our first embryo transfer in April of 2021, and we welcomed our little boy into the world at the end of December 2021, happy and healthy. We will definitely return to Poma if or when we want to have another child as they were able to successfully get us 5 healthy embryos!
I did 4 rounds of IVF with POMA( 2019 to 2021) and one embryo transfer at age 41 in 2021 . I have a healthy one year old. They have one of the highest live birth rates with older women of my age in the nation. I think their embryology lab is one of the best. Dr. Beesley was my fertility doctor. Hes really nice and compassionate. The nurses are really nice too.I messed up allot with taking my injections And dosing... I wish they had app for medication dosing schedule bc it was kinda chaotic.... Thats my only complaint.....All the embryos were tested for DNA.....Ladies, please consider ERA test which can increase your chances of embryo transfer by 15%... Its a number game... Also acupuncture after embryo transfer! Good luck, heavy emphasis on luck!
Great place, great doctors, great nurses. Im really thankful to Poms. Dr. Opsahl and Dr. Beasley are both great. I love the atmosphere at the clinic, everyone is so kind and friendly. I always had a great experience and would recommend to anyone!
UPDATE 1/24: After this TERRIBLE company (read below) provided a terrible experience, they took three months to run my insurance and then billed me almost a year after the service was provided. Insurance was run in May 2023 and I didnt receive a bill until January 2024. I already complained once below about clerical, so lets rope the financial unit into that, with this delayed bill and the fact that they sent me a bill with sticky notes on the letter that looked like a list of items to buy. On top of that, if you read the rest below - I am naturally pregnant. With no interventions. After being told wed need IVF with ICSI by the doctor who didnt even know our names. If I could give zero stars to this place, I would.Bellingham office staff/nursing staff is great and is the ONLY reason to have any stars on this review. Id give the women there five stars for their kindness and diligence. Everyone I interacted with at that office was intelligent, thoughtful, and created an environment that was welcoming. However, after doing an IUI at the Kirkland office, I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. The doctor did not review any bit of our records (or even know our names), and he told us wed be unable to conceive without very expensive treatment that would be incredibly harsh for my body. This was without first considering further testing or giving the option to not move forward with the IUI. After a second opinion, it appears the blame he originally placed leading to the push towards IVF is not even accurate and caused more financial and emotional drain than necessary. If you have any trauma history, please take heed in seeking support from the doctor at the Kirkland office. It is painfully obvious that there is a lack of trauma-informed care being practiced. After stating we will not be doing IVF because of my prior experiences outside of this clinic, he continued to discuss with my husband all the different costs and how that issue could be worked through. Likewise, my saying no was listed in my records as a psychological issue as a barrier to consider against the science of IVF. No means no. Full stop. No. No to IVF means we are not having the conversation. It is not a psychological issue or barrier to say no, regardless of the science. Im a human being with the ability to say no, not an incubator in your scientific process who needs to fixed or coaxed into doing something. How about trying to test further and see if there is an opportunity to create better circumstances before continuing to push IVF? Its not the immediate answer for everyone and people appreciate you taking the time to get the full information. No one deserves to go through the weeks after thinking theyll never have a child and that theres something wrong with them when you never did the rest of the testing or pushed to look at alternatives. To Poma: Check your clerical work in the records and instructions sent out. One set of instructions for medication received didnt have any option selected for how to use the medication. I also have multiple spots in the records where it is clear information was not put in correctly, drastically changing numbers that are needed for overall assessment.Women go through enough in day-to-day life, especially when experiencing infertility. Get some trauma-informed training before pushing your personal agenda on those who have trusted their care to you. Your word choice matters and its obvious that right now, you do not care. You can do better than that.
After two devastating loss, we finally had our rainbow baby girl in May 2022. Thanks to Poma Fertility Clinic for helping us throughout our journey! The staff has been very helpful and supportive. A huge shoutout to Megan Palazzola for being patient with us explaining step by step process of the treatment and for making us feel comfortable while were going through it. Especially its our first try at IVF and everything about it is unknown for both my husband and I. We will definitely come back if we decided to have another baby.
My spouse and I got pregnant the first try at POMA doing the IVF procedure. Everyone in the clinic is super nice, knowledgeable, and professional. Needless to say, they are 100% the place you want to be for your fertility needs!
The staff and doctors at Poma are the best. They were nice answering all of my wifes questions as well as mine. I highly recommend Poma because my wife gave birth to our son in July!
Amazing! Thank you Poma for everything youve done for me and my wife. The staff is extremely nice and the doctors are beyond caring and amazing. Linda is the most caring person in the world!!! I have no idea why some people gave this place 1 star. People blame doctors for their eggs not getting fertilized instead of realizing theyre the problem, not the doctors. Doctors at Poma are the best fertility doctors on the West coast. I wish I could give Poma 10 stars!!!! The best, most caring place my wife and I have ever been to! Thanks to Poma we will be parents soon. Love you guys and youre amazing!!!!Update: thank you Poma for giving us our beautiful baby girl!!!! You guys are amazing!!!!!!!!!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍
Poma is a great place to work with and very accommodating. I had rated them badly before, but they explained to me why I had had a negative experience and it was mostly my fault (response below). But, an organization that takes time to help an upset patient is worth going to. Their services were great and everyone was professional. I have referred two people to them and both were satisfied too.
Prior to going to POMA I consulted with 2 other fertility clinics that I wasnt excited about. From my first visit at POMA and consultation with Dr. Opsahl I was impressed with the care. The girls at the front desk always know your name as soon as you walk in the door, the nursing staff is just amazing and patient, the providers are knowledgeable and honest but with compassion and Dr. Wiemer and his team are just incredible. I cant thank POMA enough. It would take a few pages to thank them each individually but what I can say is if you are seeking honest, ethical, knowledgeable and compassionate care, POMA is the place to go. Thank you so much to Dr. Opsahl, Dr. Beesley, Meagan, Linda, Dr. Wiemer, the incredible nursing team and the administrative staff for turning a difficult process into some of the best medical care I have ever received. I am moving onto OB but I will miss the team at POMA.
We are so grateful to POMA. Not only did they explain the process, but they set our minds at ease by being there every step of the way. I also loved that they worked with female and make infertility issues. This is so important when trying to navigate IVF options. I would recommend them to anyone looking to try IVF. Thank you POMA!
Words cannot express the gratitude for Dr Opsahl and all of Poma. They gave me my child, Noah. I can’t recommend them enough. From the beginning freezing my eggs to 5 years later having an embryo transfer. One single embryo transfer, first pregnancy and had my beautiful son. I cannot be grateful enough.
Poma is absolutely wonderful! We had a difficult journey in trying to conceive - 7 years worth. We had gone to another place first with no success and truthfully feeling like we were just lining their pockets. We were referred to Poma by friends of ours. From the first visit we were welcomed and felt like we mattered and they went over our options. We decided to put things on hold and eventually returned 3 years later and started our journey. We eventually got pregnant (a few months into covid starting) and just had our little boy on 4/18. We cannot thank them enough for making our dreams a reality. We have one embryo left and will be back in a year or so.Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!
Poma was amazing and honest. My wife had her tubes tied after a previous marriage and we had decided we wanted a child. She was 42 years old. Dr Opsahl was very honest from the beginning and suggested donor eggs. He said we had a slim chance with her age. We wanted to try to have our own and we just welcomed a healthy baby boy Chance into the world! Thank you Poma.
If you are looking to feel anxious, confused and generally upset during your IVF process, I would definitely recommend Poma Fertility. The extra star is because IVF worked for us! The thing I am most excited about, second to being pregnant, is not having to do IVF with Poma Fertility ever again. Please do your research and compare Poma to how others communicate and set expectations through this process. This is something I failed to do.Communication: After we paid Poma, I felt we became a number in their extremely full bucket of clients. ALL communication is restricted to an extremely clunky patient messaging portal, which is a terrible, out of date experience. Many of the messages I sent them early on would not get answered at all. Sometimes multiple people would answer them, with varying responses.. super confusing. They would say theyd call and never did. More than once they sent me instructions to take a medication starting the next morning but when I went to the pharmacy to get it would find out they never called it in.On desperate occasions Id call the front desk begging to speak to a nurse, they would get annoyed and tell me to send a portal message. I actually wasnt going to write a review at all, but the final straw was when we asked them to keep the gender a secret from us but they sent us an unmarked card announcing it was a boy..Education & expectation setting: IVF is a scary and unknown process and Poma keeps the process very vague. I understand a lot can change at the last minute within the process, but they should tell clients that from the start. There is no advanced education about how to give yourself the shots, which added stress to the process. I had 5 different medications with different needles sitting on my counter and no idea on how to use them and had never given myself a shot. I dont think I am an uptight person but that feeling is pretty overwhelming. I spent a lot of time googling things Poma should have educated me on. I used YouTube videos I found by myself on how to administer the shots in my abdomen. On one occasion, a very kind nurse showed me how to do the shots when I brought the medication into Poma and I realized I had been doing it wrong..Costs: The last issue is the lack of transparency with costs. Poma comes off like they make this clear but they really dont. My husband and I ended up paying double than what their website states. Their various options sound straightforward, but be warned they are not. Many times at the last minute I would realize I needed to order more medication (the cost is 5K each time). To say something positive, the doctors there are wonderful. Megan was a joy to be with each time and was helpful. I think they really need more focused staff to communicate.I hope this review helps someone avoid the emotional turmoil I experienced
After a devastating, cancelled IVF cycle at a different clinic in Bellevue who told me I would most likely have to use donor eggs to get pregnant, I came to Poma for a second opinion. 4 months later I am pregnant with my own eggs and have 3 genetically viable frozen embryos from my very FIRST IVF cycle at Poma!Dr. Opsahl, Dr. Wiemer and his team are miracle workers. The staff and nurses are all incredible. You can tell that each of them truly loves and deeply cares about what they do, they are in the process with you every step of the way. You dont get that at other clinics.Infertility has so many emotional ups and downs, appointments, questions that come up, prescriptions and paperwork to fill out. It can be exhausting and confusing but Poma made everything so seamless and easy to navigate. You look forward to your appointments since everyone is always happy to see you, the office energy is amazing! That means the world to someone going through the infertility journey.Plus, you see Dr. Opsahl at every single ultrasound appointment (not just at consultation like the other clinic I went to).I could write a novel about how much I recommend Poma to anyone going through infertility. Please do your research, I personally ended up consulting with multiple clinics after my cancelled IVF prior to landing on Poma. I can 100% say from my research and all of my consultations that Poma is the place to go. Hands down. Please feel free to message me directly if you have any questions, Im more than happy to share more details, I know you probably have so many questions like I did when I was trying to find the right clinic!
We tried another clinic in downtown Seattle and the prices were outrageous, they wanted payment right away, and we felt like they just went through a routine for their paycheck. They didnt look at as us individuals with unique circumstances.Poma however was amazing! To be honest I was a little skeptical at first because I called a few times before reaching anyone at the front desk. Which I think is due to the fact that they keep their prices cheaper, and therefore staff less. But anyway... once I got my appointment set up, they have a patient portal which makes it so easy to contact them via email (they are very responsive). They explained everything so much clearer and better than the clinic we were at before did.Its worth the hour long drive for us (and parking is free). The nurses even suggested places where we could buy our medication cheaper. And they gave me tons of samples of kosher prenatal pills (which I had a hard time finding kosher DHA prenatals online).Just after I first appointment we felt SO much calmer and relaxed about the whole process of conceiving again.I guess my main point here is that I cannot recommend them enough. Such a great and helpful Fertility Clinic. Dont go anywhere else.
I was a patient of Doctor Opsahl’s almost 3 years ago. I had to do two IVFs, one with PGS and still only had 3 embryos at the end. Thankfully the first one worked for us and the other two are frozen. We’re actually going to go forward with a frozen embryo transfer with them soon. It was a rough and emotional experience and the staff there were always so sweet and supportive. I really miss many of the girls there. Doctor Opsahl was very involved every step of the way. We are so thankful for Poma, they work in an industry where any kind of ‘failure’ is the biggest kind of heartbreak and hardship. We truly appreciated the support and kindness of Sarah and the nurses. I was shocked to see the reviews they had and had to and my own personal experience. I recommend them to everyone I know struggling with conceiving their own family.
We had a wonderful experience at POMA. We loved that there was a flat rate for treatment which helps for planning and saving. The staff are wonderful and are always happy to answer all of your questions and take the time to be sure that you understand the answer. Everyone there works as a team and genuinely are on your side and want to help you have the best chance at starting a family.
I was very nervous to explore fertility treatment. Everyone I spoke to and who worked with me in office were so nice and supportive. I love how they ensure you are educated in your options, don’t pressure you into a particular route and are top notch personals.Any questions or concerns I had were answered very quickly and at no point did I feel like it was a inconvenience to them.Above all I appreciate how professional everyone was. As someone who has some anxiety, especially in medical settings, they really helped ease my anxiety by being transparent and personable.Everyone who I worked with: nurses, front desk, scheduling, finance and the doctors are amazing. 10/10.Plus: VERY CLEAN environment and obviously they take pride in their work.
This was a tough road to go down but this office was a great help. I recommend them to anyone stuck in the infertility slog. The nurses are amazing. They are helpful and kind. Blood draws are easy and painless. Results are always available on an online portal before 3pm.Financial services are available and they also have an IVF guarantee program that helps you recoup some lost money if you dont get a take home baby.Waiting area is calm, clean, and baby free. Facilities are top notch and their embryologist invented some of the technology they, and everyone else, use today.
The staff are so amazingly insightful, tactful and are very sensitive to our needs. Dr Opsahl is very thorough and explains in detail the whole process and is very honest, sincere and upfront about the chances of success. The entire staff treated us with respect and dignity... they are attentive and it is so easy to communicate with them, you never have to repeat a question as each of the nursing staff seem to be up to speed and very effective, they answer all questions thoroughly. Sara, Jessica and Amy are such angels I am so thankful to them as they made our ivf journey so much easier. I highly recommend POMA!
It seems that most of the people here that left poor reviews do not understand how many variables go into a successful IVF. It is a very delicate and complex process that can fail at any one of many points along the way, just the mere fact that you seek out IVF suggests that the odds of you having success may be low. My wife and I started this process with very low expectations so we wouldnt be disappointed with a poor result. The POMA people have been AMAZING to us throughout though, we did a ton of testing and started with an IUI which was successful the first try but ended in MC. Not their fault at all. In fact they were more determined than us to help us understand the cause, once we determined it was a genetic issue we dove into IVF and maxed out our credit cards since our insurance like most, wont cover a cent. We did two extractions and only came out with 3 viable embryos of 14, we nervously had a FET and it worked! Were at 18 weeks, not out of the woods but further than weve ever been before. Dr. Ophsalt and his staff arent miracle workers but they ARE on your team and will work very hard for you to get positive results.*****UPDATE*****We had a beautiful baby boy on 2/11, he’s almost 4months now and progressing perfectly, happy and healthy. Couldn’t be more pleased with our POMA experience and outcome.
Put off reviewing this for a while because I didnt have much to compare it to. However, after going to two other fertility clinics I can now say with some authority that there are places significantly better than Poma. I went to Poma for a consultation about freezing my eggs/ embryos to utilize later, most likely with a surrogate due to some health conditions I have. I found the staff to be rude and judgemental about my consideration of surrogacy (I guess its not up to us to determine if its medically necessary or not). Additionally for $385 all I got was an explanation of how Poma harvests their eggs, essentially information that they could and should have just provided in a pamphlet for free. I went to Kindbody in NYC (they also have offices in LA and SF) and for $300 they did an ultrasound to check current egg follicles as well as ran blood tests to check my hormones. AN ACTUAL CONSULTATION. How can you provide me with a consultation if you know nothing about my body? Poma also informed me their policy is to not allow sex selection unless a couple already has a child of one sex then they can select for another. I find this to be quite unfair, what if a person only intends to have one child? The cost was also insane compared to Kindbody where I will now be going (even with the added cost of travel and lodging its still less expensive than Poma). I also tried to follow up with questions for Poma and never recieved a call back despite several attempts. I gave it 2 stars as the nurse I spoke to there was actually quite kind and informative unfortunately didnt feel that way about the rest of the staff. I would not recommend Poma, especially if considering surrogacy they seemed quite biased against it and not knowledgeable either.Edit: after reading Pomas response I am actually quite angry. Without knowning my full medical history I was immediately met with judgement in regards to surrogacy. Its easy for them to write here after the fact what their policy is. However, the reality in the moment was without essentially any knowledge of my medical history my medically necessary decision to utilize a surrogate was both judged and brushed aside. Furthermore, I went to two other clinics and my situation and need for a surrogate was both explored and taken very seriously. I have since successfully had my eggs harvested via KindBody in NYC (18 eggs) and am very pleased.
Reason for going to Poma: Family Preservation (Freezing embryos in anticipation for using them in the future), or as I like to call it- Baby Insurance! :)Poma Fertility is awesome! I worked mostly w/ Dr Opsahl & Nurse Gen... both are really great, as if the entire staff! They always had time to thoroughly explain stuff to us and answer all of our questions. My husband & I have a slightly different story than the average person coming into a Fertility Clinic. I was 32 yrs old & my husband (boyfriend at the time) was 40 when we first walked into Poma for a consultation. We had been dating for a year at that point & I told my then boyfriend that I wanted to freeze my eggs b/c I knew that egg quality begins to decline after age 30 & I wasnt going to have kids anytime in the near future. My boyfriend, being very supportive, went to the consultation w/ me & we sat down to discuss all of our options w/ Dr Opsahl, including talking to the financial counselor & Nurse. The entire consultation was an hour & a half, very thorough, & we left the appt seriously considering not only freezing my eggs, but freezing embryos instead, not b/c Dr Opsahl pushed or pursued us in any way, but b/c he was just really good at explaining all the pros & cons of both & we came out of the appt w/ a much better understanding of the entire process. They did recommend that we get some basic testing (genetic testing, ovarian reserve, sperm analysis, etc) to at least assess our reproductive status (all of this was fairly inexpensive w/ insurance). But we never felt pressured to make any decisions about freezing eggs/embryos, & they basically just let us know that if we decided we wanted to proceed forward w/ any decisions, they would be there for us. Dr Opsahl was even very great with helping to guide me in making a decision about whether or not to freeze eggs or embryos, by simply asking me some really good questions for me to ponder (I was on the fence about it because my boyfriend and I had only been dating for a year... god forbid we froze embryos together & then broke up!). After giving me some good food for thought, and discussing further w/ my boyfriend, we decided that we indeed wanted to freeze embryos (b/c they have a much higher chance of surviving the defrost, & higher overall chance of success), but decided to wait about a year, until we were at least engaged or close to being engaged. We came back a year later after doing a bit of ring shopping & decided to process forward with freezing embryos. The entire process went really well. I love how easy it was to talk to Dr Opsahl & I always really appreciated his honest, direct, & compassionate approach. We were able to freeze 10 embryos, we got engaged, & 9 months later we got married (I know... scandalously untraditional!). We got pregnant 8 months after getting married (naturally! ...w/ the help of supplements, acupuncture, & Letrizole!). Our plan was to try naturally for the first one, & then consider using our frozen embryos for baby #2. Im currently 35 & pregnant w/ our first baby, & I figure by the time we try for #2 Ill probably be 37-ish. At 35 I was having a hard time ovulating & having a regular cycles; I was diagnosed w/ borderline PCOS (at age 30-31 my cycles were totally normal, but by age 32 my cycles began to change). So I wasnt even sure I would be able to get pregnant with Baby #1 naturally. Luckily I did, & now I feel really reassured know that I have 10 embryos in the freezer waiting for us when we are ready for Baby #2. From these frozen embryos we might be able to get 1 or 2 children (maybe 3 if we were really lucky). Freezing our embryos was easy and it cost a total of $13,000. It helped to take the pressure off of us to have kids NOW & gave us a lot of reassurance for the future!! If you are considering freezing eggs/embryos... do it!! And if you are considering Poma, I highly recommend them!! At the very least, go in for a consultation, learn about your fertility status, & educate yourself on your options- Youll be so glad you did!
My husband and I are forever grateful for all POMA has done for us. With the odds not in my favor being AMA, we were fortunate to have such an amazing team help us succeed. Dr. Beesley, the nusrsing staff, and front staff played such a pivotal role in are ability to achieve our dreams of having a child. We had only one embryo, through our whole cycle, that survived, and HE is here!!! Our prayers were answered, and we couldnt have done it with out POMA. Baby boy Waylon arrived via csection on June 18th, 7lbs and 20 inches long at 39 weeks. We are over the moon!!
Poma is a great clinic. The staff are exceptionally caring.
Amazing facility! The doctors and nurses were very patient and understanding. They developed a plan that made sense for my husband and me. Within the first try, we were able to get pregnant. Now we have a 15 month old baby girl.
We felt so incredibly supported throughout our fertility journey from the front desk staff to the nurses and doctors - everyone was so warm and kind and made what often felt like a daunting journey, much more manageable.
I’ll start out by saying, we ended up not going with this fertility clinic so I won’t speak to the success rate or the level of care.We did look at this clinic and they sent us all the information to register. Their website is a bit antiquated and not inclusive. It is Eurocentric and Christian centric. They ask about ancestry and heritage but with very limited options. The clinic seems to be antiquated in their process. They refused to accept automated electronic medical records and insisted they be sent via fax or snail mail. This is more of a suggestion to the clinic versus an attempt to dissuade anyone from using their services. Fertility journeys are exhausting and stressful, if you can take the time to make the process just a little more streamlined and simple for your patients, I have no doubt it would make their lives easier and give them one less thing to worry about.
A wonderful success story here! The staff at Poma is wonderful - especially if you have the luck of having My Linda as your nurse (she is just like having a family member guide you through the experience).
I dont know why POMA has so much high evaluations. I can only say that the experience there was a nightmare. I spent most of my insurance benefits and almost $20,000 cash for two cycles (self pay parts for meds and other procedures). I had 30 mature eggs and 22 of them were fertilized to embryos. But only 4 of the embryos survived to the fifth day for PGD, all of which were poor qualities(the best rate was 3BC). So none of them passed the PGD. I was then only 33 years old. The doctor blamed all the failures to my poor egg quality, but I doubt about it. I highly recommend that before you try for POMA, make a serious decision because it may waste you a lot of time and money. I can say that their attitude is nice, but without a good result, good attitude was nothing.
I was at the clinic for 1 year. I did all the tests they asked us to do. doctor at the end told me and my husband that our chance of getting pregnant was zero. I wouldnt have to try. Today I am 4 months pregnant thanks to the doctor who showed us better ways.
Wonderful experience. We were able to make our family complete with a successful IVF cycle after a failed one at a different clinic. Thank you for everything!
It took me 2 years to write this review. Nurses are super nice but the whole procedures were shady. They didn’t inject the sperms into the eggs instead let the sperms finds the eggs (we found this out after and no wonder) from 21 eggs only 4 got fertilized. And right before I go in for egg retrieval the Dr ask us if we will do another cycle. He made us in aweee and then 2nd cycle came he asked us same thing. I told the nurse this it is for us and right before I went into eggs retrieval the nurse pulled the Dr aside then he prescribed me the med for implantation (how come didn’t prescribed me this one on the first cycle) This time we had 19 eggs and 10 got fertilized. Total we had 14 but till day 5 only 1 survived. We decided to implant the ONLY embryo that survived and I got pregnant but then it’s failed as there were too many chromosomes. Here is another good one that few months later the office emailed us asking us to fill out the gender of baby A and gender of baby B and when is due date. Please do more research before you guys want to waste your money with this clinic as they rated themselves high but is it the rating base on pregnancy or live birth.
There is no staff, they dont take or answer patient calls and questions, Dr. Opsahl wont see anyone not doing IVF, so you will never see a doctor there (though they will bill insurance for seeing one). He is also super rude/mean to everyone, patients included, as my only experience with him is him SCREAMING at a staffer from the waiting room for over-billing him. Skip!!
One star is way too much! These people told me that my only option was to do some of the most expensive treatments and that was my only option. Well other fertility offices said they didnt even do a blood test WOW!. When you try to get in writing they say come into the office. They seem to blame the person that isnt in the office during a visit like your spouse is the reason why shes not getting pregnant. Or your husband is mostly the problem. Your money seems to be the bottom line.
POMA, was fantastic. All the people that work here are truly amazing. Made the process of going through IVF very smooth and with as little stress as possible
After going to 2 other clinics in the area... I am so pleased with my care here. The staff genuinely understands the struggle their patients go through. They dont try to sell you things you dont need and their costs for what you do need are reasonably low. I would highly recommend them to anyone!
Beautiful facility with reasonable/fair pricing and friendly staff. Had consults at two other places first (Olympia and SRM) and this establishment and staff by far beat out the other two. Call as soon as you can to get a consult, they do IVF every other month.
I don’t know why Poma is rated 3.9 but this fertility clinic deserves nothing more then 5 stars, me and my wife came here and had twins and they very healthy, thank you Poma 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Dr and staff were incredibly helpful and informative, prices are lower than others in the area, very clean facility and I had a successful outcome; a beautiful baby girl. I will be seeing them again soon, I highly recommend them
Just wondering if Dr. Opsahl knows that many of his patients may appreciate him as a doctor, but they dont get very far because they have to deal with someone not as nice at the front desk whom patients dont want to have to encounter again.
Staff is super caring and informative, and theyve always responded to my countless questions! Ive really appreciated working with the team there.
Staff is very friendly and I feel so comfortable in asking any question. They are very responsive and give clarity on the processes and procedures.
We had a wonderful baby girl. Poma was very thoughtful and thorough.
The Drs are well experienced and professional. However, staff could use some more enlightenment and customer service upgrades.
I want to thank everyone for helping me make my dream come true in was a amazing experience everyone is so nice and helpful thank you for answering all my questions and making the process much easier I will for ever be great full my baby boy is beautiful and healthy
My family and I are so thankfully for Poma!! I am currently 6 1/2 weeks pregnant.
Thank you for my 3 lovely boys.
I dont like the service here not a good service ...
