Called this office to see about making an appointment with plenty of time for them to call me back but they completely ignored and disregarded me. Will go to Houston for a better experience.
UPDATE and Reply to Dr. Meauxs reply:I was finally referred to an Endocrinologist after monitoring a lump in my throat. I have an upcoming consultation with an ENT to schedule surgery to remove a 4.6 cm mass (I have multiple) from my thyroid. My response to Dr. Meauxs reply would be to take a proactive approach in your care, like listening to your patients and being curious about our concerns regarding the bodies we are living in, rather than a reactive one like putting the responsibility back on the patient in the form of you should have said something.Dr. Meaux was my first and only gynecologist from the year I turned 18 until the year I turned 38. I have always had a problematic cycle, to which I was always told that thats just your cycle. I never questioned it until I got into my late 30s. The last time I went for my yearly check up I was having even more problems with my cycle and had gained a large amount of weight. My body temperature averaged around 96, and I had absolutely no energy or appetite. I brought these concerns to her attention, and inquired about an ablation for my cycle and possibly being referred to someone to look at my thyroid (I have a family history of thyroid issues). I thought that since she had been my doctor for 20 years that she could see the pattern and notice the weight gain and be willing to help. She was not. She told me that since I hadnt had children that she wouldnt consider an ablation, and that my cycle was just my cycle. The conversation ended there. Her solution to my questions about my weight, energy, and appetite was to give me samples of an appetite suppressant. I left devastated. I knew I would never go to her office or refer any woman, specifically those without children, to her. I have since found a new gynecologist who upon hearing my concerns at my first visit, performed and ultrasound and found polyps in my cervix and uterus. He scheduled a procedure and within a couple of weeks I was living a better life with a cycle that didnt control my life. Seems like if you arent having children or looking for pills or procedures to alter your physical body then shes not the right doctor for you. I hadnt spoken about this until recently and was encouraged to leave a review.
I rate my experience with Dr. Meaux and her staff as excellent! She was very informative and always answered my questions in a pleasant and professional manner. She performed a robotic hysterectomy on me in June 2022 and it went really well. Recovery was amazing! My surgery was scheduled on a Friday and she called me personally on Sunday to check on my recovery. During my 2 week follow up appointment she explained some of the details during surgery and also mentioned that she allots the whole day for surgery so that she can focus mainly on her patient and the procedure and not have to worry about rushing back to the office. I appreciated this so much because my case required more time and it was comforting to know that she had dedicated the whole time to take care of me only. I highly recommend Dr. Meaux! She and her staff are great!!!
Dr. Rachelle Meaux has been my OBGYN for over 15 years and came highly recommend when we moved to this area. She is professional, knowledgeable and THE BEST I have ever seen or used. Appointments always on time, communication fabulous (breast cancer diagnosis by mammogram— no symptoms) and she is gentle. I’m a surgery RN for 30 years and completely trust her skill, judgment and knowledge/care.
Dr. Meaux is so kind and patient when explaining procedures and answering any questions you have. When I had my surgery I knew I was in excellent hands and felt so much better having her as my doctor!
Dr. Rachel Meaux is a great doctor but trying to get in to see her for non routine visits is a nightmare!! Her gatekeeper at the front desk has no sense of urgency and when pressed for an “issue” appt. said she was told to instruct patients to go to their GP or a walk-in clinic if they couldn’t wait 2 months for an appt . Called again a day later state the urgency for the appt and was offered to be added to a wait list. Never got a call back …..20+ years as her patient!! 😤
I give Dr. Meaux 5 stars, she is amazing! She has been my doctor for years. She is professional and has years of expertise. She performed my laparoscopy and is an excellent surgeon !
Wow! I was about to schedule an appointment here, but saw all the negative reviews and walk out. This doctor has a lot of personal issues that make her patients feel so neglected. I’m scared now!
I recently had a robotic hysterectomy performed by Dr Meaux. She did an excellent job preparing me for my procedure. The surgery went really well. The recovery was amazing. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I was walking around the next day. I had my surgery on a Friday and she called me personally to check on my recovery. I would recommend Dr Meaux to anyone looking into any gynecological surgery
I find it strange to see so many negative reviews. Dr. Meaux has always been wonderful to me and I love her bedside manner. She was my doc for both of my children and performed an emergency c-section and saved the life of my second baby. I think she is a wonderful doctor.
Definitely will never recommend this doctor to anyone. Actually I’ll make sure to let people know my experience. Let’s start at the beginning I have irregular periods so before I found out I was pregnant I didn’t have a period in at least 7 months. Dr. Rachelle sent me to go do blood work which came back that my hormone levels were low so she put me on progesterone. Also I had moderate bacteria found in my blood work. Dr. Rachelle told me she would send me for a ultrasound to see exactly how far I am. She said if I was at-least 8 weeks she would feel better putting me on the medication. I was 8 weeks and a day when I went do a ultrasound. I get a phone call the next day from her office just to tel me my due date. So I was confused the whole point of me getting the ultrasound was to see how far I was to be put on medication. With no answer given to me for two weeks I decided I needed to start looking for another physician and make a appointment for another opinion. I got a appointment but it’s not until December 14th. I called Dr. Rachelles on December 2nd and said look I never was treated for this do I need to be put on medication or it’s nothing to worry about I haven’t heard from y’all in two weeks about it. They told me they would not be able to give me any medication because I was going to see another physician. I wouldn’t have wanted to see another physician if you would take care of your patients properly. The sad part is I had to end up going to a walk in to get put on medication because I wanted to make sure my baby and I was okay. What if something between those two weeks I as your patient and something happened to my child because y’all didn’t do what y’all were supposed to do. We are supposed to trust our doctor not be scared. Other than the receptionist they are nice but as for as everyone else it seems like they hate their jobs no smiles no nothing. What a horrible experience!!!
Dr. Meaux did a phenomenal job with my gynecological surgery in 2018, so I would highly recommend her for that service. Unfortunately, my experience with her as an OB was a total nightmare. As she said in her response to another review, there are many other great physicians in the area who would be a better fit, and I will be taking that advice too. I was truly hoping that my experience was an isolated incident, but after consulting other medical professionals in her field in this area I quickly learned that it’s not. I will not go into the details of my experience, but I can honestly say that I’ve never felt so thrown away and discarded by a medical professional in my life. There is no logical explanation that anyone could give to justify the way my pregnancy and miscarriage were handled. I wish I had done my research and read reviews prior to entrusting myself and my baby to Dr. Meaux, which is why I am leaving this review.
So I never ever take the time to write these reviews. That being said I had to say how wonderful of an experience it was at Dr. Meauxs office! The staff was very friendly, the wait wasnt existent and Dr. Heather made me feel like we had known each other for years! She was very professional and it felt like she really cared about what was going on! Every step of the check up was amazing and she walks you through everything thats happening! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!
I did not have a good experience with Dr. Meaux as my OB. I didnt feel supported at all by her. This being my first pregnancy and then not finding out until my first ultrasound that I was having twins, I needed to feel like we would get through this together and she would be there for me. It felt more like a you can wait to be seen but then get me out sort of thing every time I was there. My benefits were not explained clearly to me. Every time I went in for something I was being charged for something else. I felt in the dark all the time as to what was going on and when it was suppose to be going on. Once they found out I wanted to switch doctors by having them send over my medical records to the other doctor, they terminated me as a patient even though I had called an explained to them that I wasnt even seeing another doctor yet. I asked if there was anything they could do for me so that I could at least have a doctor until I found another one. They told me that I could make another appointment the following week and start the whole process over again to re admit me as a patient!! I was also told that it would take a week to have my records sent over to the other doctors office! Everything was such a hassle. I later found out that none of my measurements, from my ultrasound that was done in February, made it to the other doctors office. Needless to say. I am very happy that I switched and dont have to deal with all of that anymore.
Terrible! My mother has been going to Dr. Meaux for years. Today she went for her appointment and was turned away, after waiting her turn, of course. Dr. Meaux no longer wants to take Medicare patients or at least until after September. The nurse insisted the office had called my mother which they had not and told her she would not be seen. She was not even given the option to pay cash for the appointment. Medical appointments make my mother nervous anyway and then she had to deal with a rude nurse. This is absolutely unacceptable. My mother is timid, soft spoken and kind for her to be mistreated in this way by a healthcare provider infuriates me.
Dr. Meaux is an amazing doctor. She’s prompt, personable and truly cares about her patients. She very knowledgeable in her field. I’m so glad that she’s my doctor.
I had my annual physical today with Dr.Meaux! I have been a patient of hers for at least 20 years now! She and her staff are always friendly and I never feel hurried and she patiently answers all my questions and concerns! Thank you Dr. Meaux, you are appreciated!
I had a (surgery) procedure done and was in so much pain I called the doctor, the doctor and staff ignored me. I went in for a follow up appointment still suffering she discharged me within a week I had to have emergency surgery. 2 weeks after surgery I recieved a call to conform my appointment, I said yes and ask to have an appointment with the doctor they told me no I was going to see the nurse practitioner after several times asking to see the doctor they told me no. Animal are treated better than I was treated. I will do my research on the next doctor. I forgive her for not treating me with dignity and respect because we all have to answer to the man above.
Just recently switched to Dr. Meaux. I cannot praise her enough. She spends times with you and listens to your issues. She and her staff and so friendly. I cannot recommend them enough!!
Definitely the worst doctor I’ve ever seen. I’ve been seeing her for a year and ever time I’ve gone in there’s been some kind of issue. She wouldn’t see me today even though I explained my circumstances over the phone when I made the appointment. Dr. Meaux lacks bedside manner and any sense compassion. I would not recommend her.
I’ve been seeing Dr. Meaux for over 21 years. From childbearing years to menopause she’s been the best doctor. I credit her for saving my life when I became very ill after my hysterectomy.
Helpful staff, great bedside manner by Dr. Meaux, her NP and Nurse. Always friendly and returns calls/questions same day. Referred to her office by a coworker and so happy I took their advice!
Office charged me a copay (Which they shouldnt have) and then made me pay out of pocket for 2 visits after my insurance paid them. Then made me jump through hoops for 3 months to get my money back. They were rude to me when I had to keep calling to remind them that they were supposed to pay me back. They treat me like dirt for calling them and asking what is going on when they missed an appointment that they themselves set to call me back by 2 days. They blamed this on a recent staff change, but this IS the new staff. Very upset. Will be filing complaints about this to the BBB and my insurance company. Warning others.
Terrible staff! Very unprofessional. I had an appointment scheduled and called to confirm the time. When I arrived (on time) I was told that my appointment time was scheduled earlier and I had missed it. I explained to the nurse that I confirmed the time the day before, and I was told by the office manager that I could not be seen even though it was their mistake. The office manager was very rude and she basically screamed instead of trying to understand. I would not recommend at all!!!!!
I have been a patient of Dr. Meauxs for almost fifteen years. I have went through infertility and two healthy deliveries with her, Heather, and the rest of the staff. I have had nothing but a pleasant experience as a patient. Its a pleasure going to their office!
Dr. Meaux is a great doctor! She is to the point, efficient, and definitely cares for her patients!
Very unfriendly staff and the Dr. Meaux was pretty much the same. She made me feel very stupid for any questions that I would ask.I felt very rushed and not welcome what so ever! Will not be going back.
I am writing this post because I have been a client since 2010 when I started college at ULL and I would not refer anyone to anybody else. This office is AMAZING!!! I feel comfortable to ask away with any questions I have and I never had to wait more than 20 minutes MAX!!
Very kind, informative and comfortable. Im so glad I made this change. She is my first female doctor and I couldnt be happier.
I was with Dr. Meauxs office for a few years but only because of her nurse practitioner. Shes no longer there, so neither am I!
Went in to make my wellness appointment and Jen at the front desk made the process so simple and easy. Thanks!
Waited too long to treat my anemia with blood transfusion...wanted to see I was “symptomatic” before treating critically low levels.
Assuming she was having a bad day when i spoke to her. Unfortunately VERY rude.
Terrible experience
