Dr. Michael Homer and his staff are all GREAT! Everyone made me feel welcomed and comfortable. All my questions and concerns got answered. I Did IVF and got pregnant on the first attempt. I now have a beautiful and healthy daughter.
I rarely leave reviews, but I am really grateful to work with Dr. Lee and want to share it here. She is very caring, efficient, and genuinely wants to achieve the best outcome rather than just following the standard protocol.1. I had a previous treatment in another clinic and had the first appointment with her in late December. Since I had already used all deductibles at the time, I asked her whether she could accelerate the medication prescription so I could use the benefits of the year, and surprisingly, she did it in such a short turnaround time, saving me thousands of dollars.2. Egg freezing was not an easy journey. I had some not ideal situations in the early treatment but she was willing to try different protocols and did her homework analyzing the results of my previous treatment. The result was way better than the original expectation.3. She is very caring. You can feel that from every phone call with her. You are a real person, not just a number. I had done it in another clinic before and totally felt the difference of the treatment.Egg freezing is not an easy journey, but I cannot be more grateful that I chose Dr. Lee. Highly recommended.
Update:After leaving this message, for whatever reason, the medical team started to perform as they did before: responsive, efficient, accessible. I am really confused about the chaos before, but I want to update on this review to give people context about my experience. Overall I still recommend RSC for fertility treatments.————————I had one round of egg freezing which went very smoothly thanks to my doctor and medical team.A few months later, I came back wanting to do a second round, this time I was assigned to a nurse who may not exist, because I’ve been contacting her for the past month with multiple messages and daily phone calls, ZERO reply. No attempt to reach me. My cycle start date is this month, now I have no clue what the next step is. Nothing was scheduled or arranged. Every time I called, the coordinator would say that they will send a message to her. But still, nobody’s calling the next day. Message not replied. I have no idea what’s going on, neither do the coordinators. This has been very very exhausting and frustrating, especially during this difficult time.
Brilliant clinic that I’d recommend to all my friends. I did three rounds of embryo + egg freezing with Dr. Malinda Lee and it’s been a very educational and comforting experience that brought me much hope and a strong sense of empowerment. Dr. Lee and my case manager Shannon Johnstone walked me through every step of the way with dedicated attention - at no point did I feel at all panicked due to lack of information or communication from the clinic (which is not the case for a friend of mine from another clinic in Menlo Park).I met with Dr. Lee at the beginning of my cycles and received a very well-rounded educational session from her that brought lots of clarity, and throughout my cycles I was able to reach her or the case managers via phone or portal messages. The treatments went very smoothly; when at the end of my last cycle I ran into a common complication post-surgery, I was able to get in touch with Dr. Lee very quickly who generously opened up her schedule the day of my symptoms to do an ultrasound for me personally to assure me that everything was ok.For egg retrievals, I ran into different surgeons every time and my favorite doctor was Dr. Michael Homer, who was an absolute gentleman and really helped soothe my extreme anxiety and nerves. My only reservation would be regarding a few nurses at the San Ramon surgery center - one of them didn’t feel very attentive every time I saw her and another was not at all sympathetic but actually dismissive towards my anxiety which made the worst cycle surgery yet. But overall the majority of the staff members including the sonographers were really wonderful and kind. Do ask for numbing pads if you’re scared of the IV tube like I did.Two things to note:The Los Gatos center is only open Monday-Friday, so when my pre-retrieval checkups occurred on weekends I had to have my partner drive an hour to the San Ramon center for the ultrasound & blood draw (I was quite tired myself 2 days before retrieval to drive that long). You can choose a specific sonographer to work with! My favorite is Maile :)Overall:I would strongly recommend Dr. Lee, Dr. Homer and case manager Shannon to anyone seeking the next stage in their fertility journey.
After trying every treatment that we were recomended under the sun and 12 years of infertility, diagnosed with Low ovarian reserve, 4 failed IUI 1 failed IVf and gave up for about a year. I was introduced by a co-worker to RSC and looking through the doctors i really wanted a doctor specializing in Low ovarian reserve and i came across DR LEE i waited 2 months to see her, At our initial appoinment she was very clear with me of what was realistic and what was far fetched she is knowledgeable in her field and answered all our questions. She really cared about our journey and explained all our options and which was the best way to proceed to start our family. IVF was our best option and we were finally able to grow our family. Now i am 32 weeks pregnant and have a healthy pregnancy. Thank you Soo much DR. Lee.
The staff at this clinic are awesome. Helpful, encouraging. I communicated the most with Cyndi and she was a God-send. Patient, encouraging and so very compassionate.
Dr Homer is my provider. During this process, he doesnt provide enough options and explanation. The result doesnt meet the expectation. Dr Homer only calls me twice during this process. The only time I met Dr homer is the first consultation. I trusted Dr homers decision at the beginning but seems like it is a bad decision for me. The case manager just gives me some instruction details but cannot answer any questions. After the first cycle, I want to change the provider. The clinic staff told me that I cannot change doctor, which is their policy. All of their people in this clinic just supports their own teammates not their customers. They dont have a good feedback mechanism to improve their process. Your opinion is not considered. Please conduct more research by yourself before making a deal with these person.Another weird thing, my insurance company said that it is no blocking to change a doctor in same clinic. They can just provide a new request. However, this clinic said that they cannot change my doctor because of this is same cycle.
Ill start by saying that I had positive experiences in my in-person interactions with the staff at RSC, both at the Los Gatos and San Ramon locations. I also had a positive outcome from my treatment plan with a pregnancy. So my review is not influenced by a bad outcome. That being said, dealing with RSC on the logistical side of things (administrative, financial, etc) was just a total nightmare throughout the whole process. The office seems to be too busy or too chaotic to deal with patient communication, scheduling, and billing in a timely and effective manner. In an already stressful process, dealing with unnecessary difficulties like this is incredibly unpleasant. The last straw for me has been a nearly year long process to get back over $1100 that RSC over-charged me for a procedure. My insurance company resolved the claim very quickly, showing a cost to me much lower than what RSC collected up front. My first attempt to contact the billing team requesting a refund of the over-charged amount resulted in a response that this claim was still pending with insurance, despite being almost 5 months after my insurance showed the claim as finalized. I expect this was a flat out lie as they tried to submit a duplicate claim with my insurance the very next day. Over the course of the next 6 months, Ive sent 3 messages through their portal and left 4 voicemails with the billing team, all unanswered, not a single response.Needless to say, hard to imagine going back to RSC for any fertility needs in the future.
The billing department is totally unreliable. Financial Coordinator is not responsive and reliable. She never replies to me in a timely manner. She really does not care what the treatment is and does not give me an accurate quote. Infertility treatment is expensive and stressful. I had to stop moving forward because I was not able to afford it according to her quote which was about 50K for 2 cycles of IFV. Recently I got new insurance which covers some part of fertility treatment. So Im asking Suzi for a new quote. But I havent heard back from her for two weeks even after a follow-up message.I dont usually write a bad review. To be fair, I would like to mention Dr. Homer, Case Manager Kacey, and other nurses have been great to me. They have been always trying to be helpful. However, because of the billing department, I am thinking to look for another infertility center. Reading similar reviews makes me think that they will create more troubles in billings and make the procedures even more stressful and difficult.I dont know if Suzi is too busy or not. I think the management team should take these issues seriously and solve them immediately.
I am over 40 years old. In order to have a second child, I underwent an egg retrieval procedure at the RSC. Dr. Wacht successfully transferred the resulting embryo and I am now pregnant.Case manager Salina really help me and husband with smile and patience.I am delighted to have found a reliable IVF provider, Dr. Wachs, case manager Salina, and the RSC.
Let me first start by saying Chelsea, Macy, and Dr. Homer are amazing and if it wasnt for Chelsea and Macy we would have ran far away from this place and never looked back. They went above and beyond their duty to to reduce an already stressful processNow, why I would never use this place if you dont have to. The finance and billing department is completely inept and good luck getting a call back. If you do get a live person (receptionist) it seems to be standard practice to tell you they arent available or are in a meeting. Its amazing how any procedures get done when the doctors and admin staff are always in meetings. Maybe, its just the standard line they give so they dont have to deal with problems. If you do leave a voicemail on the finance line, the recording says Well return you call in 5 business days. That is just crazy, 5 days to return a phone call.So we had finance problems a year ago, keep in mind we paid cash for the procedures so you would think there really shouldnt be many problems, well not the case. Fast forward to current, and now we have finance/billing problems with our egg storage. Not really a problem we want to have or the stress we need.I would not use RSC if you have to do anything that has to do with finance. Its not worth the stress of either partner and frankly this is something that seems to be easily fixed. They have the same finance manager in place, which I cant understand given all the complaints Even workers weve talked to have agreed with us, which makes this all the more reason not to use them as RSC is not solving these problems, but rather allowing the behavior to continue.
Went to consultation for IVF with my Fiancé. Dr Deborah was sooo nice, helpful, and her staff is amazing! I will keep you yelperz updated on my fertility journey and about the procedure!Update 07-26-21: This is my honest review & it’s overdue! Dr Wach is AMAZING & her staff is unbelievable. The whole ivf process was smooth & they made me and my husband feel comfortable. Thank you RSC for helping us bring our BABY BOY into this World. I would highly recommend! Excited to plan for baby boy #2 in the near future ❤️Update: July 2nd 2022We did another round of ivf and again Dr Wach was amazing! We had another baby Boy & I would tell anyone looking to do IVF to just go to RSC! Look no farther! Thank you so much RSC for completing our Family I am forever grateful
I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Homer, Judy & the entire staff at RSC Los Gatos!! They are professional, yet warm and supportive. They make a seemingly stressful process, full of uncertainty, one that is positive and full of hope. We are celebrating our little miracles 1st birthday next week thanks to this wonderful team of individuals and the IVF treatment plan that was created and executed specific to our needs.
The prospect of pursuing fertility treatments can be daunting, embarrassing, and overwhelming. There are so many facilities and providers that it can be difficult to discern which providers are truly cutting-edge experts in this field. Look no further; RSC is the best.I am fortunate enough to be working with Dr. Wachs. When you speak with Dr. Wachs, it is immediately apparent that this is her passion. She is invested in her patients, experienced, and professional. She and the other providers at RSC are truly experts who implement every tool at their disposal to maximize your potential for success.Through this process I have learned that there is no one-size-fits-all IVF protocol. Instead, your treatment schedule, medications, and care plan are carefully tailored to your needs. Though success is dependent on many individual factors, I find that I am able to relax and sleep easy at night knowing that Dr. Wachs is doing everything possible to help. It is rare to have such confidence in your care team, and I am very grateful.Re Billing: Ive seen several reviews on here indicating issues with the billing department. This has not been my experience at all, so Im assuming any purported issues have been resolved. I have received very clear quotes. These quotes even include estimated expenses outside of RSC like pharmacy medication and genetic testing costs. I have never felt confused by a bill. Paying has been easy and reliable. I have always been billed the exact amount I was quoted.
I highly recommend RCS and especially the amazing doctor Homer. I cant thank doctor Homer enough and feel lucky that we choose him as our fertility doctor. We were 33 and trying to conceive for 1.5 years when we came to out first consultation with doctor Homer. He was extremely personable, patient, positive, knowledge and direct, as he laid out all the options and statistics. Weve decided to go for IVF and a few months later I was pregnant with my now 17 months old awesome daughter. All through the process doctor Homer was supportive and really felt like he cares. He got to know each of us, what we care about, what we fear, what is important to us, and made sure to put us at ease and even laugh through the whole process. Its funny but if someone would ask me to describe my IVF experience Id say it was much easier than expected and I even enjoyed it.Thank you doctor Homer, Lindsey, and the rest of the staff!!!
RSC what more can I say other than I love you!!! The staff is amazing. They have become an extended family. My husband and i could not get pregnant and turned to RSC for help and guidance. Dr. Homer took us in as patients and from the consultation to starting our IVF cycle to implanting our embryo please know I’ve missed some steps but the point here is Dr. Homer and the rest of the RSC team walked with us every step of the way. They promptly answered any and all questions or concerns I may have had. They explained everything in English not medical terms. My son is now 8 months this past Monday and I thank RSC for helping complete our world. They are amazing they work magic I love you all and thank u.
As other reviewers have already mentioned, their billing department is a NIGHTMARE. To be fair, Dr. Wachs has been amazing and if we could rate her alone we would definitely give her a 5 stars.Back to billing, we have an amazing insurance policy that covers 30k in infertility, all we would have to be responsible for is the deductible plus co-insurance. Every single visit to this clinic they make us pay, at one point we had to pay over $1200 for the visit even though we only had $800 left to meet on our coinsurance, Suzie blatantly lied to my face and told me some bs about it being the last payment on our end and that it was a normal clinic fee that our insurance would not cover, I later talked to my insurance and they advised me that they had not even received the bill in the first place. Good luck trying to talk to these people on the phone, at a minimum I left 10 voicemails in a 1 week period with no follow up on their part. On our following appointment I asked to speak to the financial person there and was told she was busy but they would check if she could see us after the appointment. After the appointment we were once again asked to pay an additional $71, it was only after I refused to pay without first talking to the financial person first that she agreed to see us. I told her our deductible and coinsurance had been met, and she denied it and tried to tell me that she had already talked with my insurance company and they confirmed that they would not cover the fee, funny thing is, I was dialing my insurance company as we were walking into her office, Suzie did not only refuse to speak with our representative from our insurance, she flat out kicked us out of her office saying she had another appointment. At this point I wanted to curse her out, but my wife was visibly stressed from the whole ordeal and i thought it best to just pay and file a complaint with her supervisor. It turns out that was another mistake, her supervisor is the exact same way, I sent her a very lengthy and detailed email through their internal system, she got back to me that she was leaving on vacation, but someone else would reach back out to me to resolve my issue, not only was I not contacted by someone else, I emailed her back a couple weeks later and got a response a month later. I have been trying to get in touch with someone about this issue for over 2 months now. Horrible experience, if it wasnt something as important as our fertility treatment I would have walked away from this practice, but we are hoping it will be worth it in the end. Also, I would like to mention that at one point I spoke to someone on the phone, and they confirmed that they in fact owe us a credit of $800-something. I filed a complaint through Cigna, and I am keeping detailed documentation of everything as I am planning to speak to an attorney, what they are doing cannot be legal.Dr, Wachs is amazing and by far the only positive experience with this place, but seriously, as others have mentioned, their billing department is a nightmare, there are no words to describe how horrible they are.
I am really very grateful to Dr Sara and RSC for helping me through my toughest journey. They are best in their field.
I waited 2+ months for a consult only to find out the center does not allow frozen specimens from other clinics to be used in procedures. Doctor seemed surprised that I wasnt told of this, but not sure who would have told me that? Disappointed I had to waste months waiting when I could have just gone elsewhere or made other plans.
Wonderful staff and doctors. My hubby and I felt welcomed and glad my OB referred us to RSC.
They nicest people Ive ever met. They really care about their patients. I would definitely recommend RSC.
Wonderfull staff and specially wonderful and very helpful doctor !! Dr Homer defiantly going to recommend you !!
Everyone that I’ve talked to is very helpful and kind. I can’t wait to start the process.
