I absolutely LOVE Choices. The midwifery staff is simply amazing. They allowed me to make the best choices for myself and my baby. They made sure that I felt seen and heard in every visit. They took care of me throughout my pregnancy and postpartum. I had the most amazing natural birth experience, and I wouldnt change it for the world. I still go to the office for care. Phenomenal care. They are now my family.
Did a walk-in wellness visit (no appointment) and was in and out in under an hour! I did work on my laptop in the cute lobby while I waited to be seen.
I will forever be grateful for choices. I turned to them when I felt like everyone else didn’t care and choices provided the best care. I will always recommend them. Katie is heaven sent!
I recently had a procedure here, and the staff was always really nice and supporting. I felt really terrible about what I was doing because of the way I grew up, but the nurses had this nonchalant attitude that made everything seem okay if that makes sense (as in, they definitely are not there to judge you.) As a woman of color the diversity amongst the nurses and doctors was also refreshing and very comforting to see. I am not from Memphis and this place was one of my only options on a time crunch so I was nervous about going at first but again, a really great clinic. If any of the staff reads this: thank you so much for everything, what you guys do never goes unnoticed.
Amazing people, everyone was friendly and helpful. I felt heard and respected
The best place for prenatal care! Every midwife is incredibly knowledgeable and ensure that you’ll feel heard, understand what’s going on in great detail, and you’ll actually get to make your own decisions for your care. I would never go anywhere else.
Going through an abortion isn’t easy whats so ever. It takes a toll on your mental, physical & spiritual health but Sue made this experience as smooth as possible. I’ve never met a person filled with so much compassion. My first call to the clinic was with Sue; she stayed on the phone with me for about 40-60 minutes discussing everything pertaining the first trimester & abortion. I felt fully equipped for my first appointment better yet extremely at peace with my decision. Thanking this clinic for the amazing service & special thanks to Sue for the support & guidance. You’re amazing!
I had an overall great experience here I was very scared and nervous about being judged but the staff here is very respectful and kind. There here you no matter what it is you need they’re very sweet and amazing. Me personally I had got an abortion and it went well. They do offer financial help to. You can easily set up an appointment online with no problems. If I ever had to come back for any reason I would come here they offered pretty much everything for women’s health
I had an appointment at choices to get an IUD put in. Before the appointment I was given medicine to make the experience as painless as possible and once I got to the building the staff made me feel very comfortable and safe. I will definitely go back to choices if I need their services again.(for the sake of transparency I will say my mother works at choices but regardless of that my experience was a good one)
This place is absolutely terrible with communication. The nurses respond to messages and emails super late. I’ve been waiting for 2 months just to hear what my ultrasound scan results are and my nurse still hasn’t called me about them. I’ve sent her multiple messages and alerted the front desk multiple times that I need to hear from her. If these nurses have their hands tied then they should be assigned assistants to help them keep in touch with their patients. Majority of the time the front desk doesn’t like to answer the phone, or when they do, they have an attitude and are unprofessional. This place is just all around extremely unorganized.
The staff was very informative, supportive, professional and accommodating. They made me feel comfortable during the entire process. I only had the initial payment for the first appointment but Sarah Barnett(Patient care & Clinical volunteer coordinator) made countless calls and got it all paid off. She also made sure I had transportation and childcare. She was a HUGE HUGE help and I really appreciate everything they did. They were all so helpful and I wouldnt have chosen any other clinic. They were awesome!
I don’t like doing these but it had to be done. I’ve been coming here for 2 years for HRT and never really that much of a problem until now. When the nurse called my name and saw who I was she seemed a little uncomfortable but I didn’t really let it bother me much. Waited 20 to 30 minutes to get my blood drawn and they weren’t busy at all, it was literally only three of us there so it didn’t make sense, usually they’re done in a heart beat but this day was off. After everything was done I went to my pharmacy the next day to pick up my prescription. Normally they send the prescription over to whatever pharmacy you have on file so I didn’t have a prescription to hand them. Went up there only to be told that my pharmacy never received my prescription and she showed proof that they never sent it over. I went back to my pharmacy again the next day and they still didn’t have it which told me that they never sent it over to begin with, the prescription is usually ready the SAME day. Knowing that they never sent my prescription really made me feel like they were discriminating against me not to mention the cold stares. To all my trans brothers please don’t waste your time going there unless you have no other choice. Not to mention since I’ve been going to them I’ve had a few nurses say shady jokes about trans men still having certain parts. TRUST me, they WILL let it be known that you still have your insides, I’m not kidding. Oh and they will talk sh*t about you and they will misgender you while your waiting in those rooms, happened to me twice. These people clearly don’t rock with us so just save your time if you can.
This place is totally amazing everyone makes you feel so great and at ease. No matter what you’re there for the staff really does care and are attentive. All of my questions were answered quickly and accurately. The free birth control is a great plus. The wait is long but that’s to be expected at a doctors office.
I wasn’t going to leave a review but something just told me to. I didn’t even have a service done for myself and ended up having to pay $50 of my own money to this facility because they have poor communication on their end. My friend went in for an abortion on Feb. 5, 2021. The night before she had spoken to a woman that said if she arrived with about $50 less than the amount originally agreed upon they would cover the rest. Due to that employee not filling in the other staff there was a mix up at the register. And even though I was told I would only be charged for the agreed upon amount I was handed a receipt for the full payment. And there were no strides made by the employee or manager to try and clear things up. They claimed “the woman had not shown up to work yet” so they were waiting. But I didn’t see any phone calls made to clarify anything. I was told they would work on getting my money back when I returned but my friend was in so much pain, and I had her son so there was no point in spending an hour arguing. It just felt very like “we already got your money so why should we care?” And for a business that focuses on caring for women in tight situations they were everything but understanding. I wish I remembered names so I could be more specific. But yea, this Choices is not it. I was allowing my friend to use my card because she doesn’t have one. And I felt really taken advantage of. If I explain to you you took MY money, I’m not the one getting a service done, there was a $50 less asking price, AND that my friend does not have $50 just lying around but you’re still arguing about returning MY money. You’re clearly not trying to listen or dissolve the situation. You just want to get paid. And these are the people we have to trust to help us...? Terrible. But what’s new?I will give a s/o to a worker Olivia. The first consultation she was the one to help and she was the energy I was expecting from the rest of the staff. Bummer.
I am SO glad that I went through CHOICES to have my baby. The midwives were all so kind and caring -- and so very skilled at their jobs! I had alot of fear and anxiety about childbirth, and they all put me at ease. The midwives I worked with were *so* knowledgeable and helpful. I truly felt they cared about me and my baby. I had the best birthing experience I could have possibly asked for -- leagues and leagues above what Ive seen and heard from people whove had hospital births.I love that they cover the whole range of reproductive health, from birth control to actual birth! There were a few times the wait was a little long, but that happens -- and it didnt happen nearly as often as when I go to other medical facilities. My partner (male) was allowed (STRONGLY encouraged, actually) to come to every appointment and was never denied access into the building. I never saw anyone forced to wait outside. There were a handful of times that I saw people (individually and as couples) in the main waiting room. I can only imagine that anyone asked to wait outside must have presented some sort of issue while inside of the clinic. I know there are individuals who would show up outside of the clinic with rude signs. Thankfully, there was security there that kept them separate from the patients. If youre considering using CHOICES for their midwivery services, I 1000% recommend them. I tell all of my friends if they are ever pregnant again to give CHOICES a chance. EVERYONE deserves CHOICES.
I had my first baby here and when I tell you, TEN OUT OF TEN WILL RECOMMEND. I wont be having my baby anywhere that isnt Choices. The midwives are amazing when you finally get into the program. I was fed up with the way the OBGYN was treating us as a new family, so after waiting 3 weeks for Choices to call me back, I went up there and requested that someone called me back. The obliged and I fell in love! You dont need a OB if youre going here. The midwives are a part of your family now, they build a relationship with baby in the womb, dad and you. They listen to your concerns. They genuinely care. I would have been so scared to birth my first baby without TiTi Kemetra. With their knowledge I could surrender to my birth without fear. They comforted me, they loved on our family and they helped me deliver a beautiful baby. I will NEVER forget my midwives. The also care for you postpartum. If I wasnt leaving to go to Atlanta I wouldnt go anywhere else. PLEASE Choices, open up a location in Atlanta. This was the most beautiful experience ever. I cant even fit my whole experience in one review. -Ebonee Davis
Very kind, efficient and knowledgeable staff!
This is my first time getting an abortion and I almost went to planned parenthood but two people referred me to choices instead, I’m so glad because they were awesome. I never felt judged by anyone I met, they were kind and welcoming. I was feeling very scared and they calmed me down right away. I like the motivational posters and decorations they had in the second waiting room and they play a movie and offer water. They take really good care of you
Very rude, the people behind the service desk should NOT be allowed to work in a so called safe environment. Theyre very dismissive to new patients and have no regard for our situations.
Very professional and clean environment. I went in for surgical abortion. Staff was really nice, especially the volunteers that help you relax so you wont be nervous. Doctor Randolph was very quick and it was painless! Theyre very informative and polite. Only reason I didnt give 5 stars was because the wait is long, about 3-4 hrs so make sure youre there with a snack and a full battery.
They got me in out so fast, yet they were also personable, empathetic, and never made me feel rushed. Very very thorough and made sure I had no questions. Thanks to these incredible women.
This place needs more phone reps nobody should have to wait 2 hrs on hold for a simple question or appointment.in memphis, there is a huge wait list for abortions in general and something needs to be done about this issue.what is its too late for a patient to have a legal abortion?!not to mention the medical issues one may have!
The staff is really unprofessional. Lots of personal conversation on the floor. No respect for patients and the sensitivity of the visit. They were just all for 4:30 to come so that wouldnt have to deal with anymore patients. The only good thing about this place is Mel the lab tech. Shes very good at her job and very professional. Shes a keeper.
NO to the Midwifery services, all because of their head doctor who makes the final decisions.. Replace her with someone whose beliefs align with the rest of the environment, then YES.
I give the Doctors, Np, MA and Nurses 5 stars but the women making the appts they get the 2 stars. I really dont think the women that answer the phones and make the appt should determine if you should come in right away or not. Giving someone an appt in November for a serious health problem shouldnt be up to them. You would think they would transfer you to a nurse or have a nurse call you back. So I am forced to go to the ER and the doctor there will tell you to make an appt with your Dr but thats impossible because you cant get an appt till November. Its Sept 29th.At least let me talk to the nurse or leave her a message and she can call me back in a few days.
Choices is an amazing organization with welcoming staff. The new building fits the environment that Choices sets for their clients. It welcomes you and provides comfort no matter what services you are seeking. Many people are shy about their own reproductive health, I know I can be, but at Choices Ive always felt it was a safe space to ask questions, be informed, and receive services without worries about my privacy. The Memphis community is lucky to have Choices present and active within the community. Keep the movement going!
Very exclusive obviously toward men, especially after you pay. Youll be asked to step outside for the next 3 hours, with no regard to how hot or cold it is outside. Even though the sign inside on the door to the patient rooms area says no guests beyond this point (thays not the exact wording but its something to that effect). So not sure why I had to leave the waiting room to stand outside the front door looking at everyone siting inside the waiting room looking back out at me with only a wall of glass between. (BS ) Its discrimination really. Im Js. Wish it wasnt that way.. But thats the modern world of 2nd Wave Feminism we live in for ya. If i could give 0 stars I would. And I must add, theyre extremely slow. Like so slow. They need a work flow company to help them desperately.Hope I never go back.
Ive had 2 IUDs and my experience with getting one was by far better at Choices. There was a lot of care and going above and beyond to ensure comfort. The facility is clean and comfortable and the staff very friendly.
I got a nexplanon implant 3 years ago... Everything went great. 3 years later.. Im currently living in gulf shores, AL . I have been calling for 2 months trying to get a hold of somebody for my records so i can get it removed elsewhere. They either kept me on hold forever or when i FINALLY got off of hold.. They answered the phone (didnt even say hello) and then immediately hung up... Try to call back and on ANOTHER hold! I have left SEVERAL messages for them to call me back and not one person has called me back. Just because you dont want to answer the phone.. Doesnt mean people on the other end dont need something important from you. Very unprofessional and a massive headache .
Kind, helpful people. Welcoming space.
Everyone here is extremely friendly. If you are transgender, a doctor at this clinic can prescribe hormones. Its a very nice, friendly clinic. Ive had nothing but good experiences here.
They gave me the run around just to not take me or refund my money . Then they made me sign they waiver when I got there instead of the first visit like they were supposed to. Would not recommend especially if you or more than 12 weeks or near it.
I have been trying to reach someone for the last hour trying to set up an appointment. I already tried to set one up online, but there is no way of doing so via the method they have. I have been on the phone for almost an hour saying that I am next in line, but no one has picked up. I finally quit the call and tried to call again, and now Im caller number 5. I dont get this, and I just want to set up an appointment, and its become increasingly frustrating.
Worst place ever !!! I went to get an abortion & after I got all of my paper work one of the nurses said I was free to go 15 minutes before they closed they called & said I wasnt done I have to make it back before 10 mins or I have to redo the process all over & the it would have to be at the end of the month. Whoever kept answering the phone consistently hung up in my face several times sounding as if she was irritated. Do NOT go there
I go here for my hormone replacement therapy. I am a trans woman. Nikole Gettings, ANP, CNM, manages my hormones. She does a really great job at it. She really knows what she is doing when it comes to hormone management for trans individuals. She does it for both male to female and female to male. I highly recommend her if you are seeking a provider for hormone replacement therapy. :)
The staff were friendly and professional and made me feel at ease. I didnt feel uncomfortable at all and was very pleased. Will definitely go back if I have the need.
Called to see if I could get an appointment to see whether I was having a miscarriage. On their website it clearly says miscarriage management. I called and the receptionist said they don’t do miscarriage management. Why is it on your website then?
I wouldn’t recommend nobody to get an abortion . I had and abortion back in December 2021 and I was having big blood clots to the point where I was losing so much blood . I went to the emergency room do to me having headaches but come to find out my iron was at 17 that’s low , I had to get 3 bags of blood just to get me back right . Being in the hospital for 24hrs really did something to me cause I had children I was away from but never again .
They are very unprofessional. Too many people in the exam room talking and opening doors during procedures. Don’t go there! Planned Parenthood is a way better option for anything
Yesterday i made an appointment an the lady said it was 200 dollars i call today an they tell me 700 or 800 wait what?? An the lady was rude an unprofessional thats on the phone. i dont understand?
Very nice people . The wait is a little long but the staff are so sweet and I had a very good experience with everyone I came across
Great service awesome friendly employees. Thank you
I had the opportunity to visit Choices today for a birth control plan, and the doctor and nurses were amazing. Everyone was friendly and very informative.
I live 2 hours away, so called ahead on Thursday to confirm their walk in testing hours are 1:30-3:30. They confirmed. I arrived at 2:10 Friday afternoon and was told I was ten minutes too late. 😡
Professional, clean, and quick. My gynecologist retired unexpectedly and I was due for a pap. So I choose this place and was happy that I did.
Very very unprofessional. Everybody I spoke with was rude. This place needs to fire everybody and start all over. I wouldnt go there for free services, let alone spend my money.
If you want to wait on hold for 2 hours and be robbed off 200$ and not even get the services they provide GO TO CHOICES.THIS PLACE IS A JOKE
How are yall not excepting new patients for PEP! On your website it says to call in 72 hours but being told not excepting new patients what a joke
No kids allowed during any services the staff is unprofessional and ghetteo they caint answer any questions will keep putting you on hold to get a answer to any and every question
The staff are so nice and accepting. I am glad I decided to come here for Hrt. The building is super nice and clean.
This is the worst place, they make my sister wait about 3 hours for nothing, receptionist are not friendly they are just rude and have no sympathy at all, my sister said that the gynecologist is nice but all you have to do before getting them to check you is a headache!!
TERRIBLE! Seem like everyone that work at Choices hate their job! The older lady that draws blood is very rude.
I’ve been calling this place all morning NO ANSWER . Been on hold for 60 mins just for someone to pick up and hang up . I’ve called Roxanna NO ANSWER !!!! This Is Sad And Frustrating at this point
You’re going to wait hours even if you have a regular annual appointment. Unprofessional staff and inefficient clinic.
This place is so slow it’s insane. Even with an appointment you still have to wait
I was just on hold for 30 minutes waiting to ask questions. Fifteen of which the machine said I was first in line for...
I go here to get my birth control. Lovely people, very warm and caring.
Very unprofessional. Do not go to this fake clinic.
Most Definitely Recommend The Service Is Excellent & Everyone There Is Super Nice
A Fabulous Center of caring and compassionate people standing in support of all your sexual and reproductive health needs!
Very professional.I was worried when I read the reviews but all was well. I was in and out.
Heard one of the employees discussing a patients business on the phone to her friend claiming that she was on her 2nd abortion
I Have been calling for a whole hour and nobody is answering the phone. Like what is going on?
The wait is so longggggggggggggggggggggg its utterly ridiculous
Good service wait just too long
No complaints. Pleasant visit
Do you provide services for abortion?
Do Choices still do abortions??
Would definitely recommend.
Choices Memphis center good clinic
Very nice
All they care about is money.
Very good and helpful
Rude ...
