Everyone here was so kind and genuinely cared about their patients, this was literally one of the best medical experiences Ive had in the past five years. They treat their patients like individuals, like real human beings, and really make the effort to make you feel comfortable and ease your stress. They are super easy to talk to, and the care they give is absolutely excellent!! I had a nexplanon implant, and I was so, so nervous about it beforehand, but after chatting with Dr. Sarah Curtis and nurse Dylan [both absolutely AMAZING people with huge hearts!!], I felt so much more calm and like I had people who really cared about me and wanted me to be as comfortable as possible. :) I was blown away by the kindness they showed here, as someone who has had TONS of terrible medical experiences with health professionals. I would 100% recommend this place if you are looking for intimate care. They will take good care of you.
This review pertains specifically to their customer service and billing.I provided my new insurance info when scheduling a checkup with Planned Parenthood. I paid the copay at the time of visit. Weeks later, I receive a bill for $160 in the mail. I call PP, ask what this is about, and their snarky phone rep Greg tells me Well your insurance denied the claim, youll have to call them with absolutely no further information or an ounce of empathy. Any other question I tried to ask was met with the same response with a heightened amount of undue sass. How dare I try and figure out whats going on, right?I call and wait on hold awhile to talk to my insurance, explained the situation, and the agent there told me they never received a claim from Planned Parenthood... so I had to call Planned Parenthood back, wait on hold AGAIN, and was lucky enough to speak to the same rep as the first time. The first words out of my mouth were Did you guys even send this to the right insurance? and at THIS point, he decides to check and verify that they have the right information. Imagine if hed done that on the first call. Surprise surprise, someone on Planned Parenthoods end messed up and deleted my new insurance instead of my old insurance, resulting in me receiving the unexpected large bill and wasting time on the phone with someone who couldnt even show an ounce of politeness. Keep in mind that this was all a result of their incompetence. Even after he realized it was their error, he still was not apologetic or polite.Ive had multiple lukewarm experiences for checkups in their office historically, and decided to let the less-than-stellar experiences slide because I chalked it up to bad luck or them being busy, but this was entirely too much. There were many chances to catch the error or even be apologetic about it, but nope. I can promise I wont schedule a visit with them again. Maybe try getting people who are semi-competent enough to not completely screw up billing, who are competent enough to try and investigate perhaps WHY a claim was denied for non-coverage if this information was recently updated, or even check when you have a confused patient on the phone to make sure you actually had the right info in the first place. Being snarky, incompetent, and lazy will just end up causing you to do more work in the long run. If you hate your job and other people so much that you cant even make the tiniest bit of effort to assist them until someone else solves the problem for you, maybe its time for you to find a different job.
I came here to get my nexplanon birth control removed as it was past my 3 year mark and my doctor informed me the FDA updated the nexplanon expiration date and now it’s good for 5 years. I trusted that so I went on however when I went to my doctor and they asked about my birth control and how long it’s been in, I explained what happened at planned parenthood and they did their own research and the nexplanon is in fact NOT approved for 5 years yet. Please don’t spread false information especially in a state where our rights as woman are already suppressed, our health shouldn’t be either. Do better!Planned parenthood I see your response yet you obviously didn’t fully read mine. While yes research shows it’s okay for 5 years, it’s NOT approved for 5 as your providers stated it WAS, which is false information you are knowingly giving to people.
My wife and I went to this planned parenthood for an annual wellness exam and Pap smear. The staff was friendly, professional and non-judgmental. I have never been to a clinic that shows as much care and compassion as this one.
I came to have my nexplanon removed and have an IUD inserted, and I genuinely could not have had a better experience than I did. My entire treatment team was amazing, they listened to my problems and reasonings and I did not feel dismissed or undermined at all. Everyone was so patient with my worries and moved at my pace. My MA was amazing at putting me at ease before the procedure and explaining everything I needed, and my provider who performed the procedure made me so comfortable and made sure I was consenting to everything that happened! She even sang along to the music I was playing to help me calm down which was so unbelievably kind
Came here for birth control. The staff was very welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful. Dr. Sarah Curtis provided the best care I’ve ever had. She treated me extremely well. I have never had such a positive experience with a doctor or any ob/gyn care. My procedure went smooth with minimal pain. She was extremely gentle with me and made sure I consented to everything I wanted done. Talked me through each step and I even learned cool new things about my body. I will definitely recommend this office to all my friends/family.
This was my first time visiting a Planned Parenthood and it was a very positive experience! I went in to have my IUD removed. When I got the IUD put in by a UW medicine specialist I felt that the provider didn’t really care about me - it was a traumatically painful procedure and no one checked on me after or walked me out. Then they charged me a shocking $1200!I hoped that PP would be a different experience and it was! I was feeling nervous but the person at check-in was friendly and my provider, Dr. Barb, was warm and caring. The medical assistant who took my information made sure I was safe and checked on the origin of the bruise on my knee (I fell down last week lol). Dr. Barb explained how the procedure would go, made sure I was comfortable, and then she took it right out with no problems. She calmly and patiently got me all set up with a new birth control option and then walked me out.It was a rather long wait for the doctor but overall it was a great experience. The visit cost me nothing because they took my insurance. I will be returning to Planned Parenthood for all my reproductive health needs in the future.
Fantastic human beings. Every singleperson that helped me today wassensitive to my personal history/health/circumstances. They were extremelyempathetic and compassionate. Fullycommunicated with me, wanted toanswer my questions, went at my paceand made sure I was comfortable. Theyeven gave me snacks afterward and helped me get another referral thatmight help me further. BY FAR the bestexperience Ive had in a medical office inmy LIFE. This was so crucial on such ascary day for me, and genuinely meantthe world. I have been gaslit by male doctors many times; I truly felt supported and cared for as a woman in this space. I hope all of the workers herehave happy and healthy lives. ❤️
My appointments went very smoothly and the staff are very attentive and caring. I had billing complications due to being double insured and their billing department is so easy to work with.
Would not recommend for anything. Went to get normal STD Panel. They told me it would be the $120 amount listed on their website. Its been 2 months later and Im still getting bills from the laboratory service that they send the tests to. I have now paid over $500 just to get tested and was not warned. When asked, they said they have no control over what the laboratory service charges you. Its disappointing, but do not use Planned Parenthood.
My initial visit was fine. I talked to 2 girls (PA and an assistant, I guess), and they were kind and able to do what I needed.Im giving 1 star for the experience I had with a girl at the front desk on Saturday when I was forced to go in because 1. Nobody had responded to my message in the portal. 2. Id called the 800 number, and after a while on hold, I picked the option to get a call back, and nobody called. 3. Every time I called Walgreens and went through their automated system, there was no order attached to my phone number, so I assumed it hadnt been sent in.My appointment was on Wednesday. So, after 2 days of calling, I made time to stop back into this location in the midst of my busy day. The girl who was working was extremely unhelpful. She told me that my prescription wasnt filled because the pharmacy only had 1 box of bc patches and not 3. Who was supposed to tell me this? Then she claimed it wasnt her job to find another pharmacy who could fulfill it, so i had to spend time calling around to find another Walgreens who could fill the order. I had a lot packed into my Saturday and didnt plan on having to deal with this for such an extended period of time. She also told me the prescription couldnt be sent to where I live in California , but the pharmacy told me it could.I wish Id gotten her name because she was not helpful and made an upsetting situation worse. She also didn’t tell me my insurance would only cover 1 month of patches, not 3. I found that out at the pharmacy, but Im not sure if she had access to that info or not. i feel like she could have if she cared to do her job vs. sip on her Sonic drink and stare at her computer screen. She also claimed the Meridian location didnt have a direct phone number, which i highly doubt. So, 3 stars overall, I guess, for my entire experience here. If the girl on Saturday had been more helpful, I wouldnt feel the need to rate so low.
I love the acceptance and professionalism. When speaking with the PA regarding my concerns, she listened. She made me feel comfortable and showed empathy and didn’t interrupt or rush the appointment. It’s quite an experience when you actually felt heard while at a doctor appointment. I’d recommend this place for all your woman health needs.
Got a vasectomy here. Took 6 months for them to allow me to get retested for some reason when its 6 weeks everywhere else, and they only allow you to drop off a follow up semen sample Monday through Wednesday only until 2pm. When all they do is check and see if the surgery actually worked. You do all the work there! Why cant you drop off a sample to get analyzed any time its convenient for them? We work all day too people! 🙄The woman who called me with the results today, literally 2 minutes after i dropped it off, actually said to me, theres no semen in your semen... 😧 professional much?? I dont think so...Just reading the responses from this business shows they dont actually care about helping the underprivileged like they used to. SO NOT the same company it used to be!! Dont bother responding. We will not be coming back.
Ive always been a big planned parenthood supporter but I am now concerned with the experience of the providers. I had a colposcopy where 3 chunks of my cervix had to be taken- I was given nothing for pain and the 2nd sample she tried to take, the tool wouldnt cut. She was pinching and twisting on my cervix and she had to try a few times to get that 2nd sample. Then, of course, I still had to have the 3rd sample taken. I was sweating and shaking on the table and all I was given were freaking baby wipes to clean up after. So disappointed and still very sore 3 days after. This was an incredibly traumatizing experience
I went to have an IUD placed and I felt I couldn’t have had a better experience. The nurse was very nice. It was obvious to me that the provider loves her job and cares about your experience being as positive as possible. I would recommend this practice to anyone.
I went in for a standard STI check-up. The individuals at the front desk were kind, the medical assistant was very knowledgeable, and the clinician made sure I knew what to expect when accessing my results!I appreciate Planned Parenthood and the care they provide me and those I care about.
I find it somewhat upsetting that I can’t leave multiple reviews, because I’ve had varying experiences at this location, as a supportive person only. The first time I came in as support, my friend was treated amazingly. However recently I came in with my sister, and while sitting in the lobby I was witness to one of the staff being quite rude to another patient. Apparently support persons are no longer allowed in the back with the patient, but instead of nicely explaining to her patient why this is, when she asked “my mom can’t come with me?” The staff member in a very rude tone just responded “No, and you’re 24.” I was absolutely appalled at that response. It’s none of my business but if it were me I would have been extremely offended. It doesn’t matter how old someone is, if they need support, they need support. It doesn’t matter what the appointment is for.
I have no idea why, but not only does this location not tell me if my appointment is canceled or not, but also reschedules me on days I never agreed upon. It also does not help I am apparently getting scheduled on times that apparently the receptionist told me wrong, even confirming it twice to make sure? This is the most unprofessional and disorganized location, its a shame that the Boise location closed down.
Overall a good visit that helped me find the assistance I was looking for. However, the nurse who brought me back was unnecessarily rude in snapping at my partner for attempting to accompany me to the exam room. I understand this is a reasonable precaution for many individuals, but seeing as I had explicitly asked my partner to accompany me due to anxiety over the visit, the aggressiveness of telling her she could not seemed unwarranted; doubly so when nobody explained to either of us that I was allowed to ask for her to come back after my initial intake, at least according to the signs in the lobby.
Absolute joke of a place. I needed a check up and not only did the MA be rude as hell to me for checking a notification real fast and while putting phone away snapped at me to put it away. When she asked what medical conditions I had and I said I had anxiety and depression she makes a comment about how, everyone has that nowadays nice. Very nice and sympathetic of you. If the MAs goal was make me feel even worse well you succeed. Also when she asked why I was there and I explained I hadnt had a wellness check in 5 years she snaps, Well we cant do a pap smear today. Youll have to come back another day. I Didnt SAY I WAS THERE FOR A PAP SMEAR. I JUST NEEDED A BASIC ONCE OVER TO MAKE SURE I Didnt HAVE AM Infection OR Inflammation. I SAID NOTHING ABOUT A PAP SMEAR.I was left waiting a room only to be told there was nothing they can do. There PA was very kind and treated me with respect while checking me out.I dont have insurance and was assured by a friend they can help with the cost but when I ask about a sliding scale or help with the cost and was told they have no way to help so $286 bucks later i left feeling worse and complete disappointed. PP is in no way low cost affordable. Do yourself a favor and go to Terry Riley or full circle health.
12 years ago a doctor at Planned Parenthood put in IUD in me, this summer i went to have it replaced. The IUD broke when it was removed and for this I was charged $256. Because of this I had to have an ultrasound to confirm the broken piece was still in my uterus (it was), $350. I waited almost 3 weeks to get a referral from PP for a doctor to remove this, when I finally saw the doctor, she attempted to remove it in the office, $309. Which she was unable to do and I had to have surgery to remove the broken IUD, which I now $1400 for. How is this low cost? And how is PP exempt from paying for their mistake? They broke it, not me. But I’m stuck paying for it. So if you go, know that you will be financially responsible for any mistakes they make. This is not an organization that helps people.
Terrible experience. Went in because it had been a while since my last pelvic exam. My insurance covers 100% of my annual check ups and the doctor clearly didn’t want to give me one.. she didn’t even bother to bring in my paperwork and one of the other practitioners brought it in half way through my appointment. She said I wasn’t due for an exam and she said typically doctors don’t do breast exams anymore because they find a lot of false positives. (Even though I was sitting on the table in their paper gown.) I always try to support PP whenever I can but if this is the quality of service/practice that they offer, I will go elsewhere.
They were great. I just have to say, don’t say what you actually make in a month. They charged me the most possible for the bare minimum. I’m single income. Might seem like I make a lot, but man, rent takes up more of my paycheck that anything.
If you’re needing prenatal help while waiting to get into an obgyn, DO NOT COME HERE! Only way you’ll be able to get an ultrasound is if you get an abortion right after. Which is funny since on the website they claim that they do prenatal care and family help & planning.
Incredible clinic, staff, providers. Went for vaccination and found everyone to be helpful and good source of information. Thank you Lexi, Becks, Mel, and Tracey.
Wendi Holmes, APRN, is the most caring and understanding healthcare provider Ive ever encountered. She sat with me and let me ask as many questions as I needed to. Planned parenthood is the first place who has been truly understanding about my issues (hysterectomy at 28). Thank you for making such a hard year that much easier.
The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and never makes me feel stupid when I have a lot of questions or have to ask a couple of times. Gentle and understanding. A fantastic way for women who don’t have a lot of money to keep up on cancer screenings, their reproductive health, and important vaccines like HPV!
Extremely helpful and nice staff who were informative and keep you in the loop. A great place to get financial help in regards to sexual health and a great place to get birth control, to get tested, and to get help and support. We need more sexual health clinics like this in Idaho. Thank you
Amazing amazing amazing! Went in totally lost and scared and the ladies were warm welcoming kind and thoughtful! I will never go anywhere else! Extremely affordable and comforting! 12/10 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
This clinic is a safe place for people to go for any gynecological or pregnancy needs of any kind. They took my health concerns seriously and helped me get the care I need.
My appointment was at 3 and they didnt call me back until about 4. Why have an option to schedule an appointment if you cant stick to it? Very unprofessional.
This clinic inserted my IUD and I couldnt be more grateful! They were very kind, professional, and nonjudgemental. I will always go to them now!
I had a vasectomy. They did a great job explaining everything and answered all questions. I had minimal pain.
I walked in everyone was super nice but over the phone they told me less than 100 dollars would be spent then when I was checking in they said 150 then when I was paying they told me it was 315 thats more than a whole paycheck for me😒
Overall my experience was kind and very professional. My go to for women healthcare.
Everyone there is awesome! Always a good energy since you walk in until you leave. Absolutely love them!
Dont use them! They are awful. Go to a REAL doctor; they charge the same amount and will give you real medical care.
The atmosphere even insider, isslightly off putting, even thought the staff is friendly, they also seem to make you feel that way
They helped me with all my questions and they gave me clarity in a hard time
Friendly staff, clean building, hand sanitizer and masks for free. :) thank you!
Fantastic care and lots of respect.
The staff is always amazing and super knowledgeable.
Dont bother going - its a the worst ran location.
Professional, knowledgeable and very kind staff
