I had an exposure to HIV back in March and one of the nurses tried to make me feel like I was somehow responsible for the exposure. Very disrespectful staff especially when a lot of us drive so far away to come here. And to the people saying just go somewhere else and to not complain cause its free, some of us dont have those resources and most people live paycheck to paycheck. Just because your working poor doesnt mean you deserve to treated like trash. Im now happy at a new clinic.
Hello, I dont usually leave comments behind, Im a Latino gay man who has lived in the United States for over 18 years and I lived by the city of Miami where progress is always welcome. As part of been a patient of AHF wellness Center for over 5 year andin which offers you a free HIV/STD test for everyone, service have never been an issue with me, yes, it is Miami and parking lots is always going to be problem anywhere you go, plus in a city where the amount of people is at vast, so come in early or be lucky. Test are done quick and if you have any questions there are doctors who provide answers for you with great attitude and attention. Medication is always available for you as long as you have insurance, they offer same day hand-to-hand if medication is available for positive results. They also offer an App through healthVana in which you can see your results privately and email/calls reminders for checkup. Last but not least they also deliver PrEP medication to your door. I hear and read many negative comments about this Center. As for me it has always been a great service and place to be attended.
This place is so corrupt this is now the 3rd time I have driven 45 minutes to get here: and they said they are closed for lunch. It says they don’t close until 2pm on their website and it is 12pm. I think they are racially discriminating against who they allow to test. They let the girl in line in front of me get signed up and go in. Then told me they are closed for lunch until 3 pm. That’s in 3 hours?!!! Someone needs to intervene with the corruption at this place because they are allowing the staff to pick and choose who gets treatment at a place that is supposed to be a public service. It’s absolutely disgusting.
So many people complaining about the wait and business hours go somewhere else then and pay for std tests.i Love this place. Staff are really professional and it’s free. Thank you
Misleading office hours. Says open until 6pm but close at their discretion. Should update website with more accurate information.
I was disappointed the web site for Biscayne says on Friday they do testing from 10 am to 2 pm and 3 pm to 6 pm. I got there at 12:35 pm and the girl in the front told me they were not doing any more testing until 3 pm. I was like what?? Plus I parked a little far and walked 11 minutes cause they have such a tiny parking lot that I assume just gets taken up by the workers. I couldnt wait until 3 pm cause I had to get back to work.
Long lines. Bureaucracy. I came at 12 and made me wait until 1:30 because of their lunch break. None of that in the hours of operation.
They will only make one attempt to deliver your medication. After that if you call they will still deny you a second attempt at delivery. Please be aware that these guys are very rude when you call the office for service. Customer service is not their strong suit.
I don’t see how anyone can give them anything other than 5 stars. The staff was very nice and helpful and fast. The waiting area is a cool little thrift store. The service was as good as anything I’ve ever payed for before. God bless these people. Doing a great thing for the community. I can see how a service like this would attract a certain kind of clientele. Don’t mind them, they’re just a bunch of choosing beggars. Be grateful people.
The only place I feel comfortable getting tested in all of Miami. The staff is super nice. To anyone posting negative reviews talking about how the wait time is too long… what do you expect? This is a walk-in clinic with hundreds of patients a day and not to mention, it’s free!If you are in a hurry, go pay to be tested. Don’t complain and give them bad reviews. These people truly are doing the best they can. Today I waited about 2 hours total for everything but my nurse practitioner was THE sweetest man ever and made me feel comfortable. Other times I’ve waited 30 minutes. It just depends on the day and the time you go. No matter what though, thank you for all that you do AHF!P.S. If you have time go in the thrift shop downstairs. I found some super cute items and the proceeds goes to a good place :)
I can’t emphasize just how kind, agreeable, welcoming, and hospitable everyone at this clinic is or how crucial all of that is when you’re discussing a medical clinic that helps people who might be in distress or feeling nervous about some of the tests performed here. They’re extremely knowledgeable and intelligent. I couldn’t be happier with the high quality of service that I receive here. They made me feel super at ease, which built a level of trust that makes me look forward to my future visits. They provide wonderful care to make sure that the community stays protected. To Marciel and the rest of the staff, you’re doing an incredible job, keep it up!
Ive been waiting for 45 minutes just to see the doctor and get my pills after checking in at the machine. Not one person explained why it was taking so long. Of course, I left without being attended to.
Came for testing at 4:45 which is 1 hour and 15min before their official closing and they were already closed for testing.
This place is honestly not worth it if you cannot make it RIGHT when they open. They state nowhere on their website or when you call that it is FIRST COME FIRST SERVE and that they do not take a lot of people at all. It’s a nice resource but if this is the case it should be posted at least on the website so people know before making the drive. I went to this location 30 mins before they closed and they denied me after an hour drive. Ended up having to wait and go to a different location another day after finding out it’s first come first serve. Got there right when it opened and there was already a line of 10+ people. I finally was seen because I was so early but I counted and they only let 15 people in… I think it is so irresponsible of the business to not say anywhere they are first come first serve and only take about 15 people on the website. More people came only 30 mins after the site opened and they were very rudely denied. They are lucky it is free because it would not be worth the service at all if they weren’t because of how inconvenient it is.
Arrived at 1:20 PM, only to find them closed for lunch, despite Google stating they close at 2. This has happened before; theyve turned me away, the patient cutoff time is at 4 and they close at 6. Its inconvenient, a waste of time, and the staff is consistently rude about it. Update the hours so people don’t waste time going and risk the chance of being turned away.
Got here at 345pm woman says sorry Ive closed out all the charts I cant sign you in today. They close at 4pm and she is closing out things early always preventing patients from being seen BEFORE store closure
Turned me away for testing 30mins before closing for the weekend. “Short staffed. Come back Monday.”If I could wait till Monday do you think I’d have come on a Saturday afternoon just before closing? They clearly care more about the end of their shift than anyone’s health.
I am shocked at all these negative reviews, I went to a AFH for the first time on a Saturday around noon and I had an amazing experience. There was free parking behind the building, it was easy to register via your phone. Within five minutes of arrival I was already sitting down getting my testing done. The staff was quick, efficient, & answered all my questions. And it was all free. This is an amazing organization and I will definitely continue to support them.
I had to come several times just to get here at a time they’re open for testing. (They close any time of day if they have too many people, and I had to leave work early several days just to catch them open). They don’t tell you the doctors start to see patients at 11 either. The facilities are just WAY too small for the amount of patients that come in.The employees were very nice, but the way they run this branch is horrible and just inefficient.
Worst services. They cannot even correctly schedule. During phone call, they told me I could visit on Thursday but when I arrived, they said it was scheduled on Friday. And the first phone call, the staff does not know ENGLISH. I have visited AHF Wilton Manors, the service compared to this is day and night!
Nice and quick service! I came 30 mins before closing, and was able to do my labs without any issues. Friendly and professional staff.
Good service if you are lucky and they are openCome at 10:15 am or 3 pm to get tested. The best suggestion
I drove frrom Florida City to Biscayne and got there at 5PM just to be told that they stopped testing so they can finish by 6.. You can truly tell by these actions that no one here cares about your health and wellbeing or how i drove nearly an hour to get tested just to get turned away even though I made it an hour before closing. I am very disappointed with this place-- I do appreciate you guys have free testing but just because its free testing doesnt mean you should treat your clients any less or shrug us off, for that i rather spend the money to get tested and have a respectful and caring staff help me. Hope you guys reflect on this and try to better your actions and routine. at 6 you stop testing. for that close your offices at 4 if thats when you stop taking testing patients in.
The staff was very friendly and professional, quick and easy process to register and they whole process of testing took less than 30 min. The location was very clean and Kyra who was the person I got was very nice, knowledgeable and kind, very happy I came here. Recommended 100%.
This used to be a good place to get tested but the last several times I went there have been some problems. Tried to go a month ago and when I got there I was told they didn’t have any water so could not do testing. Today I called to make sure they had testing and was told yes only on Tuesday and Friday as long as I get there before 4:30 PM. I left work an hour early and arrive at 4:20 PM and was told they had too many people waiting today and I would have to come back another time. It’s frustrating because I’m trying to be responsible and get tested and like everything else in Miami it seems to be a mission. I wish there were more places in the city that offered testing since Miami is one of the highest STD and HIV infection rates. I’m not going to give up and I will keep trying....
Disgusting place. with a lot of non-professionals. I spent an hour and a half in line. then 30 minutes waiting for someone to check in. refusing to accept me without any reason. under the guise of your conclusions are not based on anything. refusing even to look at my documents and certificates brought. that I am vaccinated and my covid test is negative.
Professional, efficient, and friendly staff. Never let you know when theyre breaking for lunch though so youre screwed if you time it wrong.PLEASE POST YOUR HOURS. PEOPLE SPEND LOTS OF TIME GETTING HERE
So l have to write the comment, because l had great experience.I don’t know why so many bad reviews but anyway m.Today l came at 3:50pm l did application and was waiting 10 min without appointment. They checked me and that’s all.Thank you 🙏🏼
Idk why these reviews are so hateful. I have been getting tested with AHF at out of the closet for at least a decade and they have always been fast, professional and nice. They’re very understanding and respectful to everyone’s backgrounds and offer no judgement. Especially during Covid they have been extra attentive to sanitizing and social distancing. I recommend coming here for fast, free and safe routine testing.
This is a complete disgrace ! There is something sitting at the reception, behaving rudely ! Calls first in turn, potentially those with whom he would like to sleep! I found the very first, eventually became the last, its a complete mess ! This person has a huge complex of fat and indefication ! This is a complete trash and its crazier to hire such people to work ! !! I will complain to all authorities!Crazy I M waiting 3 h today ! Terrible workers
One thing you do not want to hear after you’ve left work early to get tested BEFORE 4pm, is that they have stopped testing because the number of applicants exceed passed the accepted timeframe for testing. This translates to me as I’ve lost money for leaving work early, but also, I went to an organization who’s employees are too slow to compensate for the incoming traffic. The even sadder part is that some people know they need help, but the nature of this organization, at least in my experience, is unapologetic and very inflexible. Please reorganize yourselves and consider the fact that some people, even though it’s not my case, may not have the funds or insurance to cover an STD check at a local hospital or clinic and take time off work to use your organization for their sexual health.
Bad service they lie about time of service they are open till 6:30 but they only receive people until for you should change the time till 4 then and not make people drive there for nothing or someone to tell you oh sorry we only accept people until 4 then say is open until 4 just bad services and in sure Ill receive the same copy and paste I saw on previous comments we are sorry we have other locations blag blah blah no what I want is for you people not to lie plain and simple!!! If you publicize youre open until 6:30 is open! Wasting peoples time I truly hope you close forever! Bad bad bad we wont be losing anything
Thank you for all that you do. The staff is very professional and takes care of the clients efficiently. I feel safe and and comfortable whenever I visit the center. Thank you for your time and patience.
At 4.01 pm the std test was close!! The front desk old man was very rude. I spend too much time and money in Uber for nothing 🤦🏼
Came here for the first time today and had an amazing experience! Everyone here was friendly and helpful. Thank you again!
Quick, fast & Free STD testing. one Spanish guy who work organizing the merchandise on the first floor very unprofessional screaming nonsense and very unprofessional please he needs to be educated
I’ve been here a bunch of times for testing and prep & had a good experience. Knowledgeable and friendly staff & short wait times and it’s free! No complaints.
These people are very nice and very respectful it was a smooth and easy process they took care of me very well I definitely recommend this place 10/10
Incorrectly tested me as negative because they get a kick out of harming people’s health. I had gonnorrhea and they sent me out the door without the meds! Staff is very rude and everyone looks like they hate their job.
Terrible service I came at 4:30pm and the spanish guy in the front told me the testing was closed now how is it closed when 6:00pm is when they really are closed and it crazy because no one else was waiting to be tested they need to have better service.
Everyone there was pretty cool chill, if you do go or need to go its better to longin or sign up for AHF somewhere that has internet or wifi they do have a computer. All the Doctors and Nurses were cool
A bit of a long wait (hour and a half) on Saturday morning but I got all my results back in less than 48 hours.
Great place, important resource for Miami. Kind people, very efficient. They do a great job for the LGBT community.
This place is great because it gives you results in less than a minute. Biotechnology has improved a lot.
Horrible customer service trash
We arrive at 1:27 pm and they were already gone! Zero respect for the time at this location!
The gentleman man at second floor was extremely rude to me when I asked him simple question and he smacked the restroom door 🚪 so hard he almost gave me heart attack,
I was waiting for the results for 2 weeks I called them, they told me to wait. I came to the center in person and they told me after 2 weeks of waiting that they lost it. And I have to be tested again. Ridiculous
I’ve only had good experiences here. Not sure where all this hate is coming from
They never know how to answer the phone you will never get a call back
They are fast, very nice and professional
Long break times. Came 3 times and waited hours
Awesome service. Quick and simple :)
It was really fast and easy
Its free! nothing can go wrong
Friendly, fast and professional
Suck
Great people
The pharmacy works very well, not above in the Testing part, They are always “lack of staff” it closes before it takes a long time. For example today Saturday 04/27/2024. Here on Google it says they close at 4 pm, however I arrived at 3 and they had already closed the door 10 minutes before according to another person who was there. And I spent 20 minutes knocking on the door and no one came out, not even to have the decency to say that they werent going to serve anyone anymore. It was until 2 case managers came out that I was able to enter and they told me no, that they were already closed and they were not going to serve anyone else, that they close 1 hour and a half before because they have to process everything for the day. This is something VERY REPETITIVE in this place.I have no problem if they want to work even just 2 hours or whatever. But waste our time and dont say here that they close at 4 pm, which even the pharmacy thought they closed at 4 and they told me to go upstairs because they were there and should still be working, the 2 case managers also told me what same when they came out. But no, the doctor who was in charge at that time said that he closes earlier and he already sent everyone home and they were just finishing processing what they did during the day. He even told me that if I wanted quick attention it was for the south beach location.Anyway, just let those of you who are here reading know that if you want any type of attention, you should know that you are going to spend more than 3 hours there to be attended to and that if they say they close at an hour, know that you have to arrive 2-3 hours before because otherwise they will They said they already closed so they could “process what they did that day.”
A very useful resource for both Miami residents and tourists from other states and countries. Nurses and doctors provide excellent care to all users without bureaucratic headaches or long wait times. Get your HIV and STD tested every 3-6 months at this entity and for those who want to support their cause, I recommend donating your clothes, electronic devices and home decorations in good condition to the thrift store on the first floor.
Excellent treatment from the medical staff, they have a very efficient automated system in my opinion to process all patients who arrive at the location. I arrived without needing an appointment and was attended to without any problem. There is a healthy and calm environment, there is cleanliness, they have bilingual staff and without a doubt very, very professional. In addition, a confidential and free service. Thank you very much AHF
What type of analysis do they perform and why?
Every time I go they make me feel very good, very professional, bilingual staff
