Had a 915 appointment. It’s now 947 and everybody who came in after me has already been helped and I am still sitting here. How do you prioritize your appointments? Can you inform your patients of this and why? Never going to the clinic again this is absolutely ridiculous.
A few years ago, I came here without an appointment just for information, and I was left waiting for over 45 minutes, so I decided to leave without speaking to anyone. This morning, I contacted them again to register and request an appointment, but the operator had no tact and such a rude attitude that I decided to hang up.I wonder if they are aware that the service they provide is physically and emotionally delicate for the women who come to this place. No thanks, I will go somewhere where I feel cared for.
Don’t set an appointment! This location prioritizes walk-ins. I learned this after arriving for my 11:45-appointment at 11:40. I was finally seen at 12:25, and in that time, 4-5 walk-ins who had arrived after me were promptly seen ahead of me. This wasn’t an issue with me not checking in either, because I completed my forms online and immediately came to the desk to check in.I had to go back to work and try to explain to my boss why my lunch took 2.5 hours instead of the 1.5 I’d gotten approved for this appointment. He was skeptical that I was at the clinic the whole time, and the crazy thing is I don’t blame him!! This was supposed to be a quick, routine appointment, but took me 1.5 hours longer than estimated because I made the mistake of scheduling an appointment and not walking in.
Scheduled a new iud appointment, called to verify that they could offer some sort of numbing because last time was horribly painful and overall awful. They confirmed over the phone that this location does offer topical numbing. I pay for an Uber get there and when I ask at the desk again to confirm they can do numbing and to make a note of it. It turns out they do not offer numbing at this location, needless to say I canceled... Such a waste of my time, energy, and the money for the Ubers.
Great experience here. I was nervous from past experiences but the staff is lovely. Tyler at the front desk provided great customer service, the medical staff are well trained and kind. They had a program that completely covered my visit! If you are in need of care definitely consider planned parenthood, so happy this organization exists.
I always get great care here when I am seen, but it’s not uncommon to have insane waiting times in the lobby with an appointment scheduled. What is the point of setting appointments when you can’t even be close to on schedule???Today I spent the hour that I had before work waiting for an appointment that never came. I had an appointment scheduled for a shot that takes little to no time when I’m actually called back, but apparently being within 45 minutes of a scheduled appointment is too high of an expectation.I’m so frustrated. I won’t be able to reschedule this appointment for weeks. Just wonderful.
Despite all the harassment the employees get, theyre honestly the best medical professionals Ive ever seen. Fantastic bedside manner. They made sure I knew all of my options, as I went in for birth control and theres more choices than I couldve ever imagined (something no other doctor has ever talked to me about before or since, nor was I taught these things in sex-ed)They made sure I was safe from protesters, many of whom screamed awful things at me, calling me a murderer and such from the sidewalk outside the buildingFacilities are somehow both very clean and quite home-y compared to most doctors offices. I love that they have so many options to make you comfortable, as I have a lot of medical traumaThey take so many insurances and do payment plans for those who still struggle to afford care otherwiseThey were so respectful of my culture and faith, far more than any other medical place Ive ever beenI definitely plan on returning if need be, they were much nicer, simpler, cleaner, faster, professional, and calmer than any other medical facility Ive ever gone to
So, I just moved from Texas and woke up this morning to find I had 3 doses left of my PrEP (the HIV prevention medicine that you absolutely must take, every day, without fail). I walked in at 5:40pm to this clinic thinking itd be fine, because I got that prescription in a Planned Parenthood - in Texas. Turns out they cant necessarily share data. And they couldnt guarantee I could be seen, and their next appointment that fit my work schedule was a week away. So Im sitting there in the waiting room having a minor panic attack (if youre on PrEP you know how serious it is to never miss a dose) and by sheer luck apparently someone canceled.I hear my name being called and I head back, still stressed to death, and thats when I met Raven. They were the most honest-to-goodness kind person Ive ever had the pleasure of interacting with in any clinic, or honestly anywhere, period. I went in a tense mess but within minutes we were laughing and chatting and all the stress just melted off. Not only was he nice, but genuinely warm, and even as anxious as I was they made me feel like it was going to be okay. They werent able to answer every question but did his best throughout, and put up with me rambling on about literally everything... I mean, sincerely, this clinic is beyond lucky to have Raven. Hes a treasure, and I hope I get to see them at every visit. The doctor was also very polite and friendly, and I was able to get a new prescription for my meds sent to my pharmacy easily. Another key thing is theyre open weekends, which, for someone with a 8-to-5 weekday job is super helpful. Im glad I was able to get help and not have to risk missing my meds (or going to St. Paul at 7:30 in the morning tomorrow to another clinic that had an opening), but Raven and the doctor (whose name is escaping me, embarrassingly) took this experience from being just well, I got the bare minimum I needed to being one where I walked out feeling welcomed and validated and with the knowledge things would be okay. This happens to be the closest PP to me, but honestly, even if it were 20 miles away Id still come back for the incredible folks here.
I recently had my first visit at this clinic. The service and care were exceptional. It was the most welcoming and caring health care that Ive ever received at a clinic, especially for gynecological issues. I felt seen and heard.
The last couple of times have been overly subpar. And this last time for check in before going up felt like a shake down of sorts. From addressing my concerns to being able to explain what’s going on with charging. And they think I’m worried about how much I’m getting when I’m actually worried about how much I’m going to be charged. And the telehelth while convenient, I’ll never wanna do again. It felt very detached and I don’t believe I received the same care I would have as if it were in person. And it really shocked me when the doctor asked if I was planning on having kids within the year. I’ve never been asked that before at visits and I hope they never ask again.
It’s super expensive here for subpar medical care. I asked for an estimate to get tested for a possible yeast Infection and they said it’d be over $400. WTAH? And I had been coming here for my Pap smears and follow up colposcopies I needed, the last time was the worst. They asked if a student doctor could do it, I said yes (not easy to say no when they put you on the spot) and she was so slow it was so uncomfortable and painful! Go to a better doctor who can get these uncomfortable exams done more quickly. PP is only worth it if you’re low income and qualify for subsidized care and don’t have better options.
My insurance wasn’t working. They gave me a good faith estimate that was already astronomical for a simple test and then charged me $900 after the appointment when it was too late to refuse. They tear up the good faith estimate and therefore you can’t use it to contest the charge later. I told the nurse again and again that I wasn’t covered and please don’t add anything outside the basic package. Apparently getting your throat swabbed costs hundreds of dollars. This is not a company that is here to serve the public. I will never come back even with insurance.
2 stars for front desk staff and the lady that took my blood pressure. After that I dont even know. I got there at 7pm for just a birth control refill appt and Im pretty sure they forgot about me. The doctor didnt come in til 8:05 pm. They close at 8pm. Thankfully I didnt have to wait that long after seeing the Dr but that was an excessive amount of time waiting for just a refill.
Had an appointment at 4pm, desk was great. Nurse was 20 late but wonderful. Had to wait over an hour twenty for the doctor, when I checked to see how long it was she couldn’t be bothered and didn’t seem like anyone’s time was valued but her own.I get it’s a clinic and things are busy, but if your doctor can’t get to a patient with a set appointment within an hour —book less appointments.
You know, i usually dont bother to write reviews, but i see a lot of controversy here. When i come here for sti screenings, the folks are always professional and understanding. And I cant think of a time Ive ever had a late appointment (tho i prob wouldnt remember that sort of thing for more than a year or two). So my personal experience has been totally fine. This may be a tacky question, but - these reviews arent screened, right? Google doesnt verify reviewers actually have used the service. So, idk. This seems like the sort of thing well-intentioned people could abuse with little effort.Edit - now that i think about, they did accidentally double book me last time i went, and rescheduled me the day before my appointment. 4 stars seems fair, then - theyre still my go-to.
I just had the worst experience with this planned parenthood in specific. I called twice: the first time I got hung up on. Then the second time the nurse was making an effort to help me, but forgot to inform that they would be able to schedule somewhere else for sooner days. Although I am having symptoms of my IUD, which was inserted in this clinic. The fact that they wanted to make me wait 7 extra days although my condition needs to be addressed right now has me fuming. Please make your nurses and employee take a customer service course because they sure need it.
Idk what people are complaining about high prices and long wait times for. I dont have insurance and most, if not all, of my BC, testing, etc has been free/very cheap. Ive also never waited more than twenty /twenty-five minutes to be seen.I think people get confused with PP and an ER too. If youre in so much pain that you cant wait to be seen go to an ER.
I showed up for my appointment 15 minutes early, and still waited 37 minutes after my appointment time. 5 people were helped as soon as they got there including a walk in prior to me. I was there for birth control, and someone with a walk-in also for birth control was helped and left before I was even seen. Although the staff was sweet, it was an extremely frustrating situation and I didn’t even get to complete what I needed to. Schedule for the morning or expect to wait there well beyond your appointment time. From the other reviews, this is a common occurrence. I understand things happen, but to have every single person that walked in both walk ins and appointments helped before me was irritating.
I’ve gone to planned parenthood for 20 years! I will NEVER GO TO THIS LOCATION AGAIN!!! My daughter was 10 mins late for her appt, it was a 35 min drive from our house, but she needed the appt! She called and told them she was going to be a couple mins late, the roads are icy. They said that’s fine. Then when she got there they refused to see her! She needed this appt, she was in pain. Never again
The staff took great care to make me feel comfortable and answer all my questions. They helped me find a birth control method that was best for my needs. The nurse walked me through what she was going to do before she did anything, and was very friendly, personable, and professional. It was a wonderful experience from walking in to walking out!
Im absolutely furious. I had to leave work today because of my medical problem with their implant. Ive had it for 11 months, and yet im having a very heavy period and 2 weeks and almost fainted at work. I called and was told I needed to come in today to see whats wrong with me. I got there 10 mins before my appointment when they told me they called me and had to reschedule because of weather. I had to sit and wait for 30 mins for my uber to pick me up when the woman behind the desk decided to leave. I was told my appointment would take an hour, but they decided they could still stay?? I dont care about weather. This was a priority according to the nurse I talked to earlier that day. Im completely baffled by the ignorance. I could have still been seen, but they chose to make me leave when half the staff was still there by the time I left. I im coming back for my reschedule appointment, but I will not be coming back here after that.
Second time I’ve scheduled an appointment waiting an hour in the waiting room. So I’m leaving now. Shouldn’t have to have an appointment to be here for 2 1/2 hours. At this point it has to be a tactic to get people to leave.
Altering my review. Last two times Ive been here to get my PrEP prescription refilled, Ive had to wait an hour past my scheduled appointment time.Dont offer appointments if you cant respect them or your patients time.
Today I had a horrible experience at this location. I was very surprised because every other time I’ve came in was great. Today I had an appointment set for noon to get an IUD insertion. I waited for almost an hour 30 minutes and ended I’m leaving because they told me after that point that it would probably be another 15 minutes and that they were “running behind”. Very horrible experience today and they didn’t seem to really care/ explain to the patients why they were so behind. So now I have to schedule an entire new appointment for another time. Very frustrating.
My wife used the nuva ring and her prescription got expired. The place we usually go to (HCMC) couldnt get us an appointment for 2 weeks which wasnt good because it then my wife would have to change her cycle that she had going for 2 years. This place is awesome because of the hours and they were able to get us an appointment really quick. The first one got cancelled however they gave us a call ahead of time and found another time that worked for us.Staff is really nice and friendly. Her doctor did a couple additional quick checkups as well and we were able to get the 3 rings right away...thats pretty awesome! Its nice places like this exist.Im not sure exactly how this place works however they take donations which I was more than willing to give so they can help out others in need.
I love this location! Whenever I come in to pickup my refill the staff is always kind and helpful. They provide the reproductive healthcare I need and Im very grateful for their work. I could never recommend Planned Parenthood enough, plus this location has a beautifully updated lobby and local publications to read if you do have a wait!
I felt that they didnt want to help me with my condition. They kept giving me treatments that didnt work. They messed up with my last appointment and the list goes on. I changed provider (their diagnose was different from the one that PP providers telling me) and I found solution to my problem. The only thing they care about is promoting birth control pills. Please dont go there. Save your money and go to see real doctors.
My experience here hasnt been excellent, but not horrible either. getting charged for std/hiv testing seems like a rip off when red door offers these services for free / sliding scale. maybe this was due to my own negligence (should i have asked for sliding scale rates?)aside from that, i have gone here for my HRT, and once again i am surprised that the doctors seem to be unfamiliar with the alternatives to intramuscular/subcutaneous testosterone. regardless, i was able to get my prescription with little to no challenges after the initial explanation of my HRT method. generally believe that planned parenthood as an organization could do a better job in communicating with patients. grateful for the service nonetheless.
Been 2-3 weeks and my prescription is still not ready. I’ve been told so many dates and days of when it should be ready and it never is. We’re about to be a month soon and they’re still lying and giving me the same ole excuse and new dates. Beyond frustrated.
Front Desk could use a pick me up (very cranky) or I would of given 5 stars. I support planned parenthood and get my birth control through them. Thankfully my nurse Tina was awesome and answered all my questions as well as got me in and out ( sometimes you sit there for hours) so overall not a bad place. FYI they are still follow covid restrictions- mask and no guests!
Went here for a checkup on my IUD birth control. Staff was wonderful, very friendly and helpful. The doctor was great, she answered all of my questions and explained everything well. They even got me financing for my visit, due to my income it was all free. Would defiantly come again if the need arose. The only thing i didnt like was the set up of the building. The lab was on the other side of my room only separated by a sliding door so i could hear everything going on in there, and i assume they could hear what we were saying too, at least it was only the other doctors nurses and office staff.
Did not feel heard at all during my appointment and had to wait over two hours for a 20 minute procedure. scheduled my appointment over a week ago and they couldn’t even find it. had the confirmation and everything. nobody seemed to care, very frustrating. i love PP and all that you do, but this was an awful experience. going to a different PP next time.
The staff here is so wonderful and compassionate. Whenever I go here, whether its for birth control or routine exams, I always feel heard. They truly care about their patients and I would recommend going to here to anyone.
Consistently the best, most high quality medical care I’ve ever received. Staff are all beyond wonderful and go above and beyond in their trauma-informed approach.
The best thing about this location is the hours. Staff in front have a bad attitude. Pray that you have good insurance because they overcharge for everything. Never discuss cost of services other than if you have insurance. Have to agree with what others have said about planned parenthood pricing policy. Look at the charges on your invoice. They bill you for things you dont ask for. Pretty sure they billed twice for the same procedure too. This kind of price gouging drives healthcare costs up for everyone. When you get tested for STDs there THEY DO NOT SCREEN FOR ALL COMMON STDs, nor do they tell you this. (herpes for example) Mostly just Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, Syphilis, and HIV only. At the very least try to make your appointment at a better location if possible.
Between college and moving from somewhere out-of-state, Ive used PP as my main form of womens health services and have been to 3 different locations. All were great, but this location was the best. My NP was incredibly helpful in listening and answering my questions about continuous birth control, and was so, so gentle. Im a big wuss when it comes to examinations, and this was the first that was honestly painless, so big kudos to her!
Absolutely ridiculous the exorbitant fees this place charges for being a non-profit facility. I went in for a 15min visit for a urine sample and the billed my insurance $190 of which $128 was passed on to me and I have very good insurance. Not only did I show up on time for my visit and have to wait for 45min but these costs were significantly higher then any other facility ive visited in the past. At no point while I was at my visit were these fees discussed and a lot of wishy washy answers about what they would bill my insurance. I highly advise considering somewhere else unless you want to pay a to dollar for low level service.
LOVED my ABORTION super HAPPY with my life decisions. Will not be regretting this at all !
Waited a hour with an appointment for them to tell me I had to wait another hour to see the doctor since I just moved from a different state even though I told them that when I checked in I left
Friendly, professional, easy to talk to, and outside there were a couple protesters for entertainment! uptown is the most entertaining location!
Friendly atmosphere, came almost late to my appointment. Gladly the security that checks in downstairs helps call in to affirm Im still able to make it.
This is a horrible place to go. If you have a choice do dont go here. The doctor didnt call me as scheduled, then the day before my appointment they cancelled my appointment before they think I need to do the procedure instead of getting the pill. They have been giving me the run around.
My nexplanon birth control removal & insertion appointment was a breeze and all the employees were helpful and friendly! Cannot recommend them enough
They were able to get me in the next day when I called! Very friendly staff. They were very helpful with everything. They tell you ahead of time how long your appointment will be.
I had a appointment scheduled at 5:00pm didn’t get seen until 6pm. Planned parenthood does not have any consideration for someone else especially when I scheduled a appointment Matthew did get me in and out which is what should of happened at 5pm
Nurses are Racist and didn’t provide compassion
I’ve had an excellent experience each time I have been here. I always feel well taken care of by the doctors and front desk staff!
Ive been to other planned parenthood locations, and this is one sucks! The person that attended me wasnt concerned about the situation. She was quite rude.
Very professional and caring staff. I went on a wednesday at 1pm and was out by 2!
Very pleasant and the staff are great, love how they keep your information private. The hours are great even on the weekend and the wait time is short
Staff is soo nice! Willing and able to give you all the help/information you need. No judgment and super friendly.
Compassionate, thorough staff. This is the greatest medical facility in town and incredibly needed.
My experience really sucked the life out of me
Not understanding of the fact that I have a child with me refused me service disgusting attitudes.
Wait time at this clinic is excruciating
Staff is always very friendly!
Really nice, helpful staff
Nice polite and friendly
Excellent service and hospitality from all the health staff, they took care of every detail and made me feel very comfortable, they even gave me an interpreter, incredible! I appreciate the great management in the attention and help. Especially many thanks to Aries, a great specialist and person.
