Ms McGuirk is truly blessing! I’m beyond grateful to have found her and at the time that I did! She helped completely change my life for the better and provided insight and extensive knowledge on Endometriosis from every angle. She has amazing bedside manner and truly treats her patients as if they are family. My surgery with Ms McGuirk went amazing and I had 100% improvement from the pretty serious state I was in upon meeting her. For the first time in years I feel normal and am able to experience a overall improved and healthy living! The results were amazing. I was able to regain my life back and have been feeling amazing since. Excellent staff at RADfertility as well! Very pleasant and prompt.

I was assigned to Dr’s McGirk and Dr F from RAD and did multiple rounds IVF and surgeries (because of stage4 endo) so I saw both of them often. IVF for me 18yrs ago, was driving from Easton MD to the office in Wilmington DE daily, before work. It was sharing tears and fears with doctors and staff. Dr McGuirk did my u/s when they were confused that my HCG numbers had been rising, then started falling… indicating a miscarriage…. Only to find them 2 weeks later to be 17,771. Dr M was the one to share with me that I was pregnant and the baby was strong and healthy….. Your office, your doctors and staff, will never ever truly understand how thankful we are for you all. You made me a mom. You made us a family. I can never thank u all enough.

Excellent Dr.I’ve always had heavy periods and severe pelvic pain from my first year of my period. As the majority of women, I was told I was exaggerating. I was put in birth control from the age 14 until 32. When my husband and I were trying to conceive I went to my GYOB and told her I was suspecting that I had endometriosis. She said I was fine and didn’t have it. Two years later, I went to a fertility doctor and said I was suspecting that I had endometriosis. They denied all the symptoms I had and said I was “misdiagnosing” myself. I googled “endometriosis specialist near me and came across Dr. McGuirk in DE. I called the office and Kim asked me why I wanted to see that specific doctor. I went over my history and she was totally by my side. We set up an appointment next week and since then I’ve never felt so well taking care and on the right direction. Dr. McGuirk is passionate about helping other women with severe pelvic pain. Her practice goes in parallel to changing nutrition and helping you as natural as possible, which aligned with my desires. I couldn’t recommend her more!

When I first started seeing Dr. McGuirk, it felt like hope. Her office at the Dover location was calming, comforting, and quiet. The atmosphere was just what a family needs with receiving help with infertility. On the Endometriosis side of things, I was heard and believed. I gave her my symptoms, and she looked at me and said, I absolutely believe you have Endometriosis. She was right! It makes a huge difference when you have someone who looks at you and believes you that its not in your head. Dr. McGuirk gave me hope and a reason to continue to push for Endometriosis awareness and look for a cure.

Dr. McGuirk has been phenomenal. My daughter is 15 and underwent four surgeries and many other failed treatments for endometriosis within 2 years. As soon as my daughter was seen Dr. McGuirk had a treatment plan and New exactly what needed done. My daughter has been pain free since May and is living teenage life again. i emailed their office on a Saturday evening and we had an appointment Monday afternoon which is a three hour drive for us one way. Dr. McGuirk and her staff truly care about her patients and spend as much time as need with you to explain and answer any questions. I cant thank Dr. McGuirk enough for my giving my daughter back her quality of life.

I dont think I can express how much Dr. McGuirk changed my life. Before meeting Dr. McGurik, I had been living in chronic pain from endometriosis and after 4 surgeries nothing changed. My last doctor literally just gave me pain meds and sent me on my way. Not with McGuirk! Every appointment she takes time to throughly listen and understand what is going on. Through diet, surgery, and suppression I am now completely pain free. I woke up from my surgery feeling completely different. She knows chronic pelvic pain and she is defiantly someone you can trust.

My journey to Dr. McGuirk began in 2015 at the age of 49. All my life I would make it through my menstrual cycle on high doses of ibuprofen. I went to see my family practitioner several times with regards to having incredibly horrific abdominal and low back pain which would leave me in bed for a week at a time. I even went to see a gynecologist. All exams seemed normal. At one point I went to the ER thinking I had appendicitis, which proved to be negative. After that I went to a urologist several times thinking the pain was bladder related, more tests were done, again with negative results. The urologist recommended that I try pelvic floor PT. After multiple sessions of PT the physical therapist recommended that I see Dr. McGuirk, as I was still having pelvic, and back pain. Upon my first visit to see Dr. McGirk I found the waiting room was beautifully decorated with comfortable seating and coffee and tea available. The staff was warm and friendly, and understanding to my situation. Upon meeting Dr. McGirk I immediately liked her. She too was warm and caring. As I unfolded my story to Dr. McGuick she knew without a doubt from my pelvic pain history and my current symptoms that I had endometriosis. Dr. McGuirk explained what endometriosis was and after further tests recommended laparoscopic surgery to remove the endometrial tissue. The surgery was scheduled and done at a surgery center. When the surgery was conducted Dr. McGuirk informed me that I had stage 4 endometriosis. My entire abdomen was full of endometrial tissue. Upon a follow up visit Dr. McGuirk not only explained what her findings were, but took the time to show me an inspirational video on fitness and discussed clean eating through the Whole 30 program. Dr. McGirk truly cared for me as a whole person. She gave me my life back when I felt it was over.

After being in debilitating pain for almost 3 years, that my gyno kept telling me I probably had a small cyst, or would ask me several times are you sure you are not pregnant I was recommend to Dr. McGuirk. I was diagnosed with endometriosis right away. The very first appointment I sat down in her office with her and I knew she put her heart and soul into her work. If I ever called after hours and left a message with the answering service Dr. McGuirk, herself, would call me back. Shortly after some exams and tests I had surgery. The staff is so friendly, everyone gave me a hug, including Dr. McGuirk during my post op appointment which meant so much to me. I know that my future is in good hands when the time comes to plan a family. Thanks to the entire Radfertility team, I have my life back & am feeling great!!!!!

My journey with RAD and Dr. McGuirk started in September, 2018. My husband and I were trying to conceive and were having difficulty. We went to RAD, where we met Dr. McGuirk. I always say she changed my life and “fixed” me. I had no idea that what I was experiencing monthly wasn’t “normal”. It was what I had always experienced so I didn’t know any different. Because of her, I now know that I shouldn’t have been in the pain I was in each month or experiencing many of the of Endometriosis symptoms that I had. Dr. McGuirk is always learning more about Endometriosis and how to help her patients. She’s brilliant and truly cares for you! I’m eternally grateful to her and everyone at RAD for their unwavering support and care. On January 2, 2019 I had surgery to remove Endometriosis and fibroids. On January 7, 2020 our RAD miracle was born!

Dr. McGuirk is an amazing doctor and I am so grateful that I found her to help me fight my battle with endometriosis. I have been to many doctors over the course of my treatment and I can confidently say that Dr. McGuirk is the one who gave me my life back!I was particularly impressed with Dr. McGuirk when I realized that her plan was not just to fill out her prescription pad, rush out to her next patient, and wait until I called to say “this is not working.” Instead, Dr. McGuirk took a holistic and proactive approach to make sure her treatment was effective and long lasting. She combined diet and medicine to help address all of my symptoms and took great care to fully understand my medical history.I have never felt so validated (and vindicated) as when I spoke with Dr. McGuirk. She knew my symptoms, understood how they were related to one another and how they affected daily life. More importantly though, it was clear from the moment she addressed me that she knew what she was talking about and knew exactly how to help me.Dr. McGuirk is a rare breed of doctor--capable of sitting with you even while you cry your eyes out discussing the struggles of life with endometriosis; capable of empathizing with you while rejecting the notion that a pain level of 4 is ‘not that bad’; capable of making you feel like she has all the time in the world to sit with you while you process; capable of delivering on her promise to help.Dr. McGuirk saved my life and for this I am eternally grateful!

I first switched to RADfertility after a bad experience with another Reproductive Endocrinologist. After becoming a patient, Dr. Mcguirk performed a successful endo excision surgery and immediately started a treatment plan that restored my quality of life. I havent felt this good in over 20 years! She really cares and is so passionate in helping those battling endo. She truly takes the time to explain everything to you and has such a great bedside manner. Ive seen the pain in her eyes when she sees us suffering because she truly cares and wants to help us all. I feel amazing now and can actually enjoy life. 💛

Dr. Barbara McGuirk was an answer to prayer for my daughters pelvic pain and difficult periods. After years of being ignored, prescribed NSAIDs that didnt help, a myriad of birth control pills and misdiagnoses, we were referred to The Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Center in Delaware by a friend. From the minute we called to make an appointment, until her surgery and afterward, we were cared for and treated with kindness, understanding, and with seriousness that we hadnt encountered in the previous 10 years by our OB/GYN office. My daughters pain was acknowledged and a treatment plan was put into place immediately so that she could have surgery as quickly as possible. For any woman out there who suffers with this debilitating disease, there is no need to continue suffering. There is hope, and it can be found with Dr. McGuirk at RAD Fertility in Delaware.

Dr. McGuirk is the most amazing human being I have ever met. Her smile and concern for others is unmatched. I first met Dr. M almost four years ago. At first I was not sure that her methods to treat Endometriosis were going to work but after experiencing many different symptoms from Endo I decided to go full force with her recommendations and I am more thankful than she will ever know for pushing me to better myself. Dr. M and the whole Endo squad (esp. Mari) are unbelievable. I can not thank them ALL enough for having my back day in and day out. 10/10 recommend!

Would not recommend. I saw Dr. McGuirk for endometriosis. Before you can make an appointment or get information from the office they charge a non-refundable fee that can be used for multiple visits. I only made it to one visit. She didnt listen to me or my symptoms instead she lumped me in with the experiences of other patients. She didnt get any of my lab work or imaging from other doctors. She talked, I listened, nothing was specific to me or my needs, just her railing against American food system. She recommended an extreme diet and kept talking about the book she writing. Worst, she said I would have to be on Orilissa for the rest of my life, even though there is a recommended finite period because of side effects. I asked if she has a dietician on staff to help monitor the diet changes or peer reviewed research. She pointed me to YouTube videos. I hope this helps you make an informed decision before shelling out money unnecessarily.

Utterly amazing! I saw Dr. McGuirk and other colleagues in the practice for the better part of fifteen years. With an initial diagnosis of PCOS and a treatment plan to assist in dealing with the complications that arose from that in my late teens and early twenties, they were the practice that I contacted after my husband and I lost our first three pregnancies some ten years later. Their practice gave us two beautiful little ones in the coming years, and handled the additional stresses and emotions that we both carried with grace, compassion and humor. The entire staff is s tribute to what the medical profession should be, and we considered ourselves extraordinarily fortunate to have had them in proximity during our time to start a family.

Endo robbed me of so many years. Specialist after specialist. Misdiagnosed for almost 12 years. Then my mom found Dr. McGuirk. She saved me.I’ll never forget her asking me if I thought about how I would end it.The pain. It was its own person, living in my skin. It took over and crippled me.She believed me.She didn’t accuse me of wanting drugs. I remember her saying that it was difficult to accuse someone of drug-seeking when they don’t ask for pain meds. I only wanted it to go away.I remember waking up from surgery and bawling. The pain was gone. I had no idea how much pain I was in until it was gone.Gone.The adhesions, endo, cysts and fibroids. All gone. There is hope. Are there wait times? Yes, but Dr McGuirk takes her time and sometimes that means longer than expected. Are there costs insurance don’t cover? Yes, but when you’re in as much pain as I was you find away. Asking family or friends, giving up luxuries or doing whatever it takes short of robbing a bank.I did six months of Zoladex injections prior to surgery.

If I could choose zero stars I would. I’m writing this for anyone who has endometriosis and is actually thinking of seeing this doctor..please, do NOT waste your time, energy, emotion, money. She doesn’t know what she’s doing with endometriosis, especially chronic cases. She believes that suppression therapy is acceptable and she pushes Orilissa on you..that’s the only way she agreed to operate on me so basically I was coerced into this extremely dangerous medication. I had “wide excision” with her and now am almost 100% worse than before but she claims it’s “because I decline suppression meds” and not because she’s actually a horrible surgeon. She’s also one of the top representatives of Abbvie aka company of Orilissa.. go see an actual endo excision specialist so you don’t end up like me, needing a third surgery, left more sick, and dealing with her awful self.

I have been suffering from endometriosis for 9 years. I was recently diagnosed via MRI. Of course a definitive diagnosis can only be made through laparoscopy. In the Caribbean I couldnt find an endometriosis obgyn. So I sought the services of Dr.Mcguirk. Even though she is in-network with my insurance they charged me $150 just to schedule the appointment and another $150 at the initial appointment even though my copay was $50. They call the $300 a nonrefundable administrative fee. Because i am in extreme pain and totally at my wits end I paid it. I did however ask for clarification as to what the administration fee covered. I got a run around from the staff, they said you have to ask billing, send the billing administrator a message through the portal (their preferred method of communication). To date I have not gotten a response from billing regarding the administration fee.My first impression of the office was good. The staff is very nice. My first meeting with Dr. Mcguirck seemed promising. She put me on the whole 30 diet and sent me for all kinds of fertility lab work, sonogram and exam. She also prescribed birth control pills so she can later administer lupron. After 70 days, excision surgery was supposed to be scheduled. When my insurance said they wont pay for lupron or zoladex, Dr. Mcguirk sent her patient coordinator to call me, one month after the initial appointment and only after I informed them about my insurance not paying for lupron, to tell me that Dr. Mcguirk cannot treat me because she only uses lupron and zoladex. I was 😲😨. I asked the patient coordinator if Dr. Mcguirk could use some other drug since I cannot afford to buy the lupron out of pocket ($1500 each shot) and I really need to get some form of treatment. She simply said no lupron or zoladex; no treatment. After my initial appointment withDr. Mcguirk we never spoke again. 😠😠😠 no one called or wrote a message through the portal re my lab results, she took my money and wasted my time. I have absolutely nothing to show for it. I told her I had concerns re luprons horrible reviews and side effects at the initial appointment but she conntinued to push for it. What kind of doctor doesnt look for alternatives for her patients? Especially knowing that I had traveled from very far for treatment and cant afford to pay for that poison out of pocket? Its just a $$ thing with this doctor. There is no interest in the patient just their pocket size.DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND HARD EARNED $ . I wish I had paid more attention to all the negative reviews I read before making the appointment. That is what happens when you are frustrated, in pain and feel stuck. Now I have to go back to the Caribbean still in pain, lost over $3000 to come to the US for treatment, and lost income from work.

This has probably been one of the worst doctors offices Ive been to in my life. The fact that they have you wait for an 1hr 1/2 plus..(without telling you a head of time) is flat out rude. The worst part is the substitute receptionist and nurse, that bad mouth patients when they ask about the wait times. (This is disgusting to say the least.) Staff will try to make you feel like (something is wrong with you) because your not willing to sit at her office (in the middle of a work day) for hours and wait on Dr. McGuirk. Im confused on why even give a patient scheduled appointment time you just get to them when you can. (This not an ER or walk-in facility) The wait time is completely obnoxious and it says to patients that her time is better than yours. People have businesses to run as well as jobs to attend to just like she does. This ALSO says shes being greedy. Why over book, and have people sitting there for hours instead of scheduling for a different day. She is not world renowned. Unfortunately there is just a shortage of doctors that specialize in this in DE. PLEASE BEWARE !

Is a hack if I have ever seen one. Her only option if you have Endometriosis is to go on a special diet and let her remove your ovaries. Thats it. No other options. But she will tell you to save your money for IVF and that they will harvest eggs from your ovaries. All on your dollar. Anywhere from 15k-30k. None of which my insurance would cover. As I broke down in tears in front of her she pushed me for when I could do pre-surgery testing and when to schedule the surgery. She had no other options for me as I pleaded with her for more. Three women who live close to me with Endo went to her and were told, word for word the same thing. We all have different stages of Endo and different degrees of pain. In the big picture she is a REPRODUCTIVE SPECIALIST, not and ENDOMETRIOSIS SPECIALIST! I DO NOT recommend her and tell people to stay AS FAR AWAY as possible!!!!!

RUN the opposite direction , if you want a shred of hope! Its taken time to even put in words to what a matter of minutes with this woman meant. Mcguirk repeated 3 separate times, how, even if one did egg donation, lets face it, it really isnt your child. Every possible door was cemented shut, as were pregnancies in other cases such as mine, flatly discredited, even as patients of the MD who referred me. I sat sobbing in the car and after years of hope, I find she thoroughly, successfully has extinguished that light.

She’s really wonderful, her bedside manner is amazing, when she talks to you, you know she cares. She’s all about healing the whole body through nutrition and natural ways and doesn’t just throw medications at you. I truly trust her with my health and I do not take that lightly. Her staff is just as amazing as she is and they just make you feel so comfortable there even when you have to have some not so comfortable conversations.
