I have never had such a terrible experience at an urgent care facility in my life. After feeling sick for five days, I finally managed to drag myself to this urgent care for some answers. I scheduled my appointment for 12:36, but wasnt taken back until 1:00—okay, fine, they were running a little behind. After a quick rapid flu test from the NP, I was told the doctor would be in “momentarily” and there were just two patients ahead of me.By 1:45, I’m still sitting in a nasty room—**literal spit balls on the ceiling**—feeling worse by the minute. When I finally opened the door to check, I saw the doctor, **who rolled his eyes at me** and said he was coming. Unbelievable. Then, I overhear staff mention theres still another patient ahead of me! So I wait... **for an hour** after the NP left, before the doctor, Dr. Thrusher, finally strolls in. And does he apologize? **No.** He spent all of **6 minutes** with me, sending me off with unnecessary prescriptions and a work note stating, “I am sick and still contagious,” leaving it up to me to “work it out” with my employer. It didn’t end there. It took him over **20 minutes** to come back with that work note and finalize the prescriptions. By the time I left, I had been in that disgusting clinic for **2 hours and 15 minutes** for a grand total of 6 minutes with the doctor. This place is a joke. The lack of professionalism, care, and basic cleanliness is appalling. Save yourself the frustration and go anywhere else.
Wasted 2 hours sitting there to be seen for a simple sinus infection. Finally saw Dr. Tresher and he clearly was in a rush to get me out of the room but promised to send an antibiotic to my pharmacy. It’s been days since I was seen and still no script at pharmacy! I’ve called the office 3 times now. The last time I was promised, yet again, that a manager would get involved and I would get a call back. Now i’m out the money I spent for the visit and have to go elsewhere for care. I’ll be following up with a complaint to the state medical board. Absolutely ridiculous.
The staff is nice, efficient, professional and the facility is clean. However, The time it took me to be seen and released with a prescription is ridiculous....I arrived at 8am, I was the first patient of the day when the door was unlocked. And it took over 1.5hrs from start to finish. The whole process was extremely long when the place was empty. with no patients.... I was left in the exam room for close to 40 mins before seeing a PA which basically read me my results of strep and did a chest exam. Then I sat for another 30 mins waiting for my prescription to be printed. I cant understand how a basic strep test with a prescription took 1.5 hrs... ????
Check-in was easy, my appointment time was within 15 minutes of what I had scheduled. Facility was clean, staff was knowledgeable and courteous.
Went to treat double pink eye. The doctor said he had no idea what to prescribe me because he did not know if it was due to allergies or bacteria. Finally told me my prescription for antibiotic drops was being sent as I was leaving the facility. Called my pharmacy and they told me MedExpress did not send my prescription. Called MedExpress and they told me the doctor who saw me did not fill out a prescription order for me and the on-site doctor would call me when they could; never got a call. Called the next day and got the same response. Had to hound them to send my prescription over to my pharmacy because my left eye was starting to hurt and swell. Front desk lady I spoke to both times was extremely rude and unprofessional; hung up on me and interrupted me as I was still speaking. I am still prescriptionless as I write. Never going back again.
Although the wait time was long, the staff was extremely friendly. And by staff, I mean everyone from the front end to the doctor. I see reviews on here talking about the wait time. However, everyones demeanor here was awesome. that means a lot to me when Im not feeling well.
My 7yr old son went to Newark MesExpress for a burn. He was in extreme pain and NP Tiller was kind and understanding. They treated him with great care and even asked if NP Tiller could be his Doctor all the time. Thank you so much for taking care of my son.
Doctor was great but the scheduling was ridiculous. I made an appointment online with all my info but when I got there they said there was 6 people ahead of me. Whats the point in the appointment? I asked the receptionist and she said to hold a time slot...then why did I wait until 720 to be seen? Thats not a time slot. Thats false advertising.
I loved how easy it was to get my son in for a sport physical. We had never used this facility before. When we walked in my son remarked it smells like a pool in here. The place was CLEAN, the people were friendly, and we were out of there in no time!
The DR. And staff were great however, I waited just over an hour after I was taken to a room. The DR. Told me it took so long because they had to put a few emergencies ahead of me. I was being seen after burning my hand in boiling water.i know for a fact that the one and only person that signed in before me was being seen for illness and the lady after was requesting a drug test. Therefore, I dont understand why I waited so long. Just before they called me back another 2 gentlemen came in. I was seen there 4yrs ago and the same thing happened. Its better to go to Newark urgent care as they are always fast and on top
I had to take a drug test for my job. I did not have an appointment and got there at 11:45 on Wed. The lady told me they were short staffed and she could make an appt for me at 3 pm. I arrived back at 2:50 pm. I checked in at the front desk. Both ladies were very nice. I was seen at 3 and out by 3:10. The only thing that was weird was that the lady told me there was no running water in the bathroom. I had to do my urine test and then wash my hands across the hallway. The trash can was outside the door too. Glad to get in and out of there.
The staff was extremely friendly, I was able to be seen and get proper treatment at time of visit. Yes, there was a wait, but I also understand that it’s a walk in facility with make an appointment option. I would definitely recommend the make an appointment option because those patients were seen at their appointment time.
We had a bit of a wait despite having an appointment, but this time of year is tricky when everyone is sick. We were happy to wait in our car and be called when it was our turn. The staff was kind and caring, from front desk, to the nurse’s assistant, to our NP, Johnita. Johnita was managing the entire patient load herself and did not rush us even though she had a waiting room full of people. She’s truly a gem. We would definitely visit this location again.
I went to MedExpress on Sunday, February 25, 2024, having thought that I fractured a rib. The level of care that I received by Ms. Johnita Tiller was superb! She took the time to explain my injury and how to treat it at home. Her demeanor and willingness to answer all of my questions, was better than my primary care physician. I cant say enough about how I felt seen and heard by her and her level of customer care. I would highly recommend this location to anyone in need of medical assistance.
Knowing they will still see everyone before me with my appointment for a DOT physical which they do not take walk ins after first thing in the morning. I thought I was smart showing up early to my appointment by 3 hours knowing thats the typical wait but they could not check me in until my appointment time. If you are going to have appointments honor them or switch back to a completely walk in basis. I have lost a whole day without pay over medexpress requiring appointments but not honoring them.
The place was clean, person at front desk was quite helpful in letting me know how best to be seen quickly, after learning an appt is really just a placeholder, so I came back the next morning, and the NP that day was excellent. She was kind, professional and seemed very interested in helping me feel better and listened to me when I expressed concern over prescribing steroids. I highly recommend this location in Newark, DE at Chestnut Hill Plaza.
I had an I incredible experience at MedEx. The registrar gave me a bottle of water which was so sweet. I had a bad cough. I made an appointment online for 6:30pm. I was home by 7:30pm. NP Johnita treated me with care and made me feel comfortable. I appreciate your service.
I definately can understand the pain all my fellow friends and help seeking patients have gone through visiting this place. The online appointment was for 3:30 pm and I am still awaiting my turn as I write this. The name MedExpress definitely contradicts the services offered. This unit doesnt respect or bother about peoples time. A visit to remember.
First thing, urgent care is definitely a misleading title. The only thing they found urgent was my ability to pay within the first minute of entering. I watched as people came in and got impatient and almost left. Wouldve left after an hour but they took my money and I wanted to ensure I got what I paid for. Nope. Even with an appointment waited close to an hour before being taken back. Then another 30-40 minutes later a doctor comes in. If staffing is an issue they better fix it or shut the doors and save the public the embarrassment of being duped thinking they were actually going to be seen in a descent amount of time. After being seen the care I received was very presumptive and no real examinations to ensure the quick diagnosis was properly in line with my symptoms. After four minutes with the doctor it was go buy this medication and everything should be better. Nope, wish the money I gave them would pay for my ER visit from the mediocre style care I received.Long story short, if youre really ill or in pain go somewhere else. They only urgent care they offer is how fast you can find your wallet and if you need help with that. If you do or do not have a pulse they wouldnt care.Edit: To the copy and paste reply.I ended up going and being seen by another provider and it was that the situation was more dire then your staff diagnosed me for. I know people hate working on the weekend but if that is your calling do not take your unwillingness to comply out on patients. Looking at past reviews it seems as though this outfit has not truly made good on their promise to improve so much so it seems they will put the well being of patients at risk in order to show their disdain with working there. My hope to be seen was not to be rushed, but when being seen it was rushed and intended to show I was an inconvenience to their time. With the sincerity of that reply it only shows that what patients truly need is not in the agenda of MedExpress. To anyone who is reading this, go elsewhere if you value your health. Also if anyone knows a good lawyer please post in the comments.
On Friday feb 2nd at approximately 10:30 a black woman with colored locs and glasses had a very disgusting attitude she ignored me when I greeted her and spoke to me when she was ready then threw a pen on the counter instead of placing it or handing it to me and kept ordering me around aggressively. She even assumed I was trying to leave when I was simply turning around to lock my car with my keys. She does not need to be in the front working with people she will be the downfall of this business other than that my experience here was great but she really ruined the opportunity for this place to have all star service. Everyone else was very nice and professional.
Made an appt for 730PM. Wasn’t seen until 9PM. Left finally at 930PM. Aside from the long wait with visibly sick people in the waiting room for a sport’s physical, it was great. Doctor was extremely friendly and my kid felt comfortable.
-Long wait-Over Hour wait for a TB READ .-First TB appointment was scheduled online , however still a long wait.Would not recommend.
I had a great experience at Go Health. I received quick care and the treatment I needed to get better.
On Saturday, March 2nd, 2024, I experienced a severe stomach virus and an asthma complications. Nurse Practitioner Johnita Tiller, Medical Assistant Kyalissa, and Front Desk Representative Arnisha demonstrated exceptional professionalism and expertise in handling my medical emergency. Recognizing the critical nature of my condition, they promptly assessed my breathing and took immediate action to stabilize it. Subsequently, they conducted tests for influenza and COVID-19 to rule out any potential infectious causes.I have had the opportunity to visit thismedical facility in the past and have been consistently impressed by the thorough and respectful care provided by Dr. Thresher. Their commitment to treating every patient with dignity and respect is truly commendable.Grace Polk
This is the worst med express I have been to. I came a few times and never had a happy experience. I always give the benefit of the doubt and another chance, that’s why I repeated coming. I will not ever bring my children or myself back to this location. The nurse practitioner was nice, however they take forever regardless of nobody in the waiting room except like 2 people. They are more concerned with money and keeping a credit card on file than your well being. Just different experience at others compared to this location.
Easy to schedule appointments online and the reception was friendly and efficient when I arrived. The Nurse was also friendly and efficient in addressing my needs. Well done!
I arrived at 11 am Thursday. I found out I was exposed to someone with covid. 😔 thank God I was updated with my vaccines. Front desk was very helpful and respectful. I waited 15 minutes. The nurse took my vitals and tested. She was friendly and compassionate and listened carefully. Dr. Came out she was very knowledgeable and told me I tested positive within 10 minutes. She said I sounded good and I was recovering well. Very personable. Great place to go. Only if you are sick.Very clean and decorated trendy. They rock. God bless you all at MedExpress.
Best walk in urgent care in the area. Been here a few times for myself and family. I have never had to wait long and the its never crowded. The care time are very friendly and actually caring. The Drs on staff seem very knowledgeable and has always diagnosed quickly and accurately. My new go-to for urgent care.
The lack of respect this tech have for patients personal information is absurd! She didnt even have HIPPA in mind when it comes to patients healthcare information. When asked, her response was, theres no camera or people back here, so? The front desk lady was quite pleasant and helpful.
Everyone was so nice. I was in and out so quick. I had scheduled and appointment and was taken on time.
Front desk receptionist was very rude, she was unhelpful and unwelcoming. I first walked in at the front of the line and stood there for 10 min with a line growing behind me while no one came to the front desk. when someone did eventually come, she walked in slowly with a cup of coffee and sat down just staring at me. there seemed to be no rhyme or reason in the order they took patients. Even after I threw up in the doctor office bathroom, they continued to take patients before me that checked in after me. I waited with a fever, pink eye, and the flu in the waiting room for 2 hours, which may have been acceptable if the woman at the front desk wasn’t incredibly rude. would only recommend as a last resort.
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! STOP tryna be cheap and cross train your staff. Phlebotomy is a skill, a high level skill! NO ONE wants to keep having to be stuck and poked. Today, I had to get blood drawn, (AT MEDEXPRESS IN NEWARK) and because the tech wasn’t a phlebotomist or nurse that does blood draws, I got stuck in BOTH arms and the needle moved in and out of my arm, WITHOUT getting the blood that was needed for the test! I’m not a hard stick, never have been. So PLEASE, as a nurse/patient, hire people that are competent in their skill, and make sure that phlebotomy IS THEIR SKILL! I have to go back and go through this mess all over again🤦🏻♀️
The good thing first of all is that the place was not at all crowded so much less waiting time. Second good thing was that the nurse and the PA were both good and professional. If I could add something for improvement would be a suggestion for the person behind the desk. That is your first impression about the place and the first point of contact. In my opinion that person should always be more welcoming and caring and not indifferent towards the patient, so the patient can feel that they have come to the right place and they will be looked after well.I will give 4 stars and would highly recommend them.
Check-in staff, nurses and providers were pleasant and helpful. However, there wasn’t enough providers on duty, so wait times for walk-in was approaching 3hrs. Please increase numbers of nurses and providers on duty to decrease wait times.
Check in was quick & easy. A little bit of a long wait, when I arrived right when they opened, still had to wait 2 hours to be seen. But it was worth the wait, the doctors were efficient in diagnosing my symptoms & giving me the best available treatment, a long with being helpful in my recovery.
Update below: Horrible experience 👎Daughter is in terrible pain which she stated at check in. There was none in the waiting room and 1 car outside in the parking lot when we pulled up. Several walk-ins came in after her including a man getting a covid test for work, with no symptoms. She kept my daughter in the waiting room and calling everyone else back after I complained several times. It must have been funny to her, as she came to the window lying about people waiting outside, and asks “do you want your daughter to be seen or not”? Not happy about the service, if my daughter wasn’t in pain I would leave. Writing this while currently sitting in the waiting room. After visit; The doctor (Dr Lisa Martin) was great!
Can’t emphasize enough how thorough and kind Dr. Tiller is. There were two ladies in the room, not sure the others name but both were extremely nice and helpful. Wait time is very long even with an appointment but that’s a given at a walk-in facility.
I went in at 8 am as they opened the doors as I needed to get to work ASAP. I went in with a suspected “chest cold.” I was second person in the door and the fourth or fifth person seen, The triage nurse saw me at 9:15. In addition to vitals, she ran a COVID test and a Flu test to eliminate them (negative on both). Not sure why it took so long so see me, very frustrated as people came in, then went back ahead of me. I was seen by a friendly Dr and his diagnosis was Sinusitis. Three meds were prescribed I was walking out at 9:40. Slow start, but then once seen, things moved along. Very friendly staff, nurse, and doctor, I will go back to MedExpress again, I just hope next time the wait time to be seen is a little less.
I decided to leave a review since every time I look up this med express, it looks like it has bad reviews and I’m sure it might deter some people from going. I went in last night at 7 PM, an hour before they closed, but they were still able to get me in very quickly and take care of me. The nursing assistant was really sweet and the doctor that I saw was also very nice and actually listen to me when I had some concerns about the medication they were going to give me for my visit. The building was also very clean inside which made me feel very comfortable with everything going on right now during the pandemic. They still have you wait in your car until your called…but I actually prefer that so you’re not around a bunch of sick people. I definitely recommend this location and will go back if I have future issues. Thank you for your assistance!
There was no wait time . Staff was kind and helpful.
I came in for a uti. They had one doctor on staff & I waited 2 hrs to get seen. Still better then 9 hrs at the ER, however I was told to call back if I had any issues so when I woke up with welts as an allergic reaction all over my body I called up there just to be told Id have to be seen again to get a different antibiotic because the doctor I saw the day before was not there today and the doctor on staff today would not prescribe me a new antibiotic without seeing me. Like they didnt have my records from the day before. You also have to have a debit card or a credit card or else you cant get seen. I dont have either of those things so I had to ask someone else to help, my Co pay was $0 - I dont understand why I had to have one to bring my insurance thru the system when I didnt end up paying anything anyway?? I cant get back up there without taking motivcare and they need 4 (business) days notice to give me a ride so Im just going to take the medication thats giving me gaint welts and pray that no other kind of reaction happens. I cant get in to see my primary provider until the 8th either. Its ridiculous, Im told my UTI could turn into a kidney infection and KILL ME but I gotta jump thru HOOPS and wait WEEKS to see my doctors. I have 8 more days taking this medication twice a day and if this spreads to my face Im not going to be happy. (Dont assume vanity, I mean I already have breathing issues from my lungs collapsing a year ago and if this gets on my like lips or nose Im probably gonna have to go to the ER cause of my breathing. Not cause Im worried about my actual face.)Also, the doctor that saw me? He didnt SAY the name of the medication he was giving me and it wasnt listed on my discharge paperwork either at all. When I got the bottle I didnt recognize the name either so after I took my first dose and saw the welts I was like great another antibiotic Im allergic too (it was in my paperwork Im already allergic to 3 different ones) so I looked up what this medication was exactly because all he told me was that it was sulfur based. Low and behold its ONE OF THE MEDICATIONS I KNEW I WAS ALLERGIC TOO AND HAD HE SAID THE NAME TO ME I WOULDVE TOLD HIM I COULDNT TAKE IT RIGHT THEN (the bottle had the generic name, i didnt know the generic name for it, now i do, i guess thats good). Thanks alot.
Im extremely happy with my experience! For some reason the call for my appointment didnt go through, so a nurse came out while I was in my car and let me know instead of just skipping past me. Everyone was kind and quick!
Dont bother making an appointment, it wont be honored. Its first come, first serve regardless. I had a 4:30 appointment for my daughter and was not seen until 7pm. Horrible experience
I had a great experience at this Med Express. I called and they answered the phone immediately. I waited ten minutes and was taken in. The nurse was Absolutely Amazing and made me feel comfortable. I was seen by the doctor 15 mins after seeing the nurse. Everybody was so kind and the facility was extremely clean. This whole experience only took 40 mins. I would recommend this place to anybody thinking twice because they see bad reviews from people who most likely are over dramatic.
I went early in the morning to be treated, and informed the woman at the front desk that I’m hard of hearing. The problem was my eye, so my ability to read lips was impeded. She proceeded to be rude, snappish and seemed all around annoyed that I asked her to speak up.
My husband was running a temperature of 101.2 around 7:15p. I called MedExpress to see if they would see him & care for him since hed been waiting all day for a return call from his Dr to know avail. We got there just in time. They were so attentive, considerate & kind. My husband has many health issues & they were concerned & considerate of all issues. He was in serious concern & they evaluated, prescibed & allowed my husband to be 90% improved today!y husband could not say enough nice things of how well he was treated & I forever grateful. Thank you so much!👨🦳👩🦳
I had a terrible and a frustrating experience with the receptionists at MedExpress Urgent Care, Chestnut Hill Plaza Ceneter on Sep 2, 2021.I went there to get Covid testing done and reached at 1.30pm. I was told that there is a 2.5 hr wait and we had to wait in the parking lot. I waited till 4 pm and went inside for an update. I was met with extreme rudeness and they refused to go inside and enquire and tell me an estimated time of how much longer I would have to wait. This was already after a 2.5 hr wait on my part. I went back to my car again and waited. Around 4.20 I directly received a voicemail pop up on my phone from them saying my turn is here. I did NOT receive any call-it was directly a voicemail. I dashed inside to the reception within one minute of that voicemail and I was told that I have to wait longer because I did not answer my call. I told them it was a technical issue and I had been staring at my phone all the while waiting for their call but only a voicemail popped up. They were very rude and asked me to go back to my car and wait again. (This was after 3 hrs of waiting). I went back outside and waited another 30 minutes and at 5 pm I went back to the receptionist asking for an update. They were again EXTREMELY rude and refused to tell me an estimated time of how much longer it could be. I told them I didnt have child care support after 5.30 pm and was waiting since 1.30 pm and I needed to know how much longer it would be so that I can make plans for extended child care. I begged them for helping me because I was desperate to get the test done that day as I was missing work. One of the receptionists had the audacity to say that she would have helped me but because I was cutting her out, she wouldnt. I left very angry and asked them to cancel my registration. Next morning I found a fantastic clinic with wonderful and kind service for my test and that clinic was also super busy.My question to your center is, was it my fault that my phone didnt ring and I directly received a voice mail? I went to the desk within one minute of the voicemail receipt. How could they give away my turn? Should they not have waited atleast 2 minutes before giving away my turn? And even if they did give away my turn, should they not have apologized and considered and helped me out at that point? Also we all are very busy at work. We understand when work load is overwhelming. But if patients are waiting outside for 2-4 hrs, how hard is it for your staff to be a little kind and helpful? How hard would it have been for those receptionists to go inside and give me an estimated wait time after they gave away my turn very wrongfully, especially when I was begging them that I need to know a time to be able to extend my child care hours after having waited for almost 4 hrs?I was desperate and they were nothing but mean and inconsiderate!I am afraid you have to train your staff to cater to customers with basic politeness and empathy. I am never coming back to your center again!
No time management sense. Had to wait for more than an hour for a simple urine 5 panel drug test as an employment screening part. I dont recommend this location. They shouldnt provide the service if they cant do it in time.
I pretty much diagnosed myself without the doctors assistance. The front office didn’t take my insurance information, so they billed me without submitting into my insurance first. Then I received an initial bill roughly a year later expecting full payment right away. I will not return and do not recommend going there.
Do not recommend this place. There is plenty of other walk in clinics that provide better service. The lady who has been assisting me with a virtual visit has been little help and seems to have little patience. My email stated an estimated time (ET) of 1:40pm to be seen virtually. I called back around 2:30pm for two reasons. One to inform them I was successful in entering the virtual waiting room and two to ask about a wait time. However, before I was able to give the reason for my call back, the clerk with aggravation, told me there are a lot of people in front of me and that I’m going to have to wait. I then asked how long and she took a guess of another 40minutes or so. Not to mention, she did not seem to care that I was now successful in entering the waiting room. Initially, I was unable to enter because I was on the phone with her while also on my phone trying to enter the virtual waiting room. I was met with an error message and was told it must have been something on my end. I’m no tech expert, but I mentioned to the clerk that I was using my phone and that maybe it was because I was on the phone with her while also trying to join the waiting room through the same phone. She insisted I was wrong, but funny enough.. as soon as we got off the phone I had no issue entering the waiting room. All in all, I was not even annoyed at the wait time. It’s a virtual visit.. I just wanted to know A wait time as opposed to being left in the dark with little information and then being met with a grumpy clerk after seeking clarification. OH, and I was told to just sit staring at a black screen after being told a clerks best guess of 40min after having already waited 40min or so.
I have been sick for about a week, and have had absolutely no relief. I was seen at another facility 2 days prior to my visit and was basically patted on the back and told to take some mucinex (hint: I already was). I progressively got worse, and this time my ear was hurting too. I went to MedExpress and the check in was seamless, and my wait was roughly 10 minutes (from waiting room to triage to an exam room) and the doctor listened to me. He gave me an exam, and knew exactly what was going on and how to help. He sent my prescriptions over quickly, and no joke.. here I am a day after and feeling at least 70% better than I was yesterday. I finally got much needed sleep, and I am so grateful. Doctor Senu-Oke was amazing. I highly recommend this facility.
Waste of time coming here, literally. Coming all the way from pa to de for a drug test arriving before a scheduled time all to be told cannot be seen. Unprofessional to be handed paper work be told just wait a couple minutes and they’ll be right with you just for them to tell you.. YOU ARE the one who’s supposed to LET THEM KNOW that you’re there. If you handed me paper work and i arrive before my scheduled time I should be seen. Once again a waste of time.
Worst Experience. Dont take appointments and short staffed. Girls at the front desk will tell you number of people ahead of you but will fail to tell you its really just that many people waiting for the same thing and sit back as tons of a mixture of other people go in before you. Unprofessional and should set a better expectation of wait times. Was in there for three hours and took less than 5 minutes to wrap up what needed to be done. Smh.
Updated review:I went again recently. Receptionist and nurse was nice. The doctor only spoke to me for two minutes before sending me out the door with a script The script isn’t even working for me. They said they would call for the results but we’ve been playing phone tag for two-three days now. Don’t get me started on how dry and irritated the voicemails I’ve receive sound. My advice is to go to your primary if you have an issue because lately I am not getting any real help from this place. Or try your luck at a different location because the way I’ve felt and been treated, i didn’t get much help.Original Review:The doctor I saw was wonderful and helped me quickly but the medication I was prescribed wasn’t working. No big deal. However, getting any calls back has been awful. I’ve been trying to speak to a doctor and get my text results for two days now so I can have that sent to a different doctor so I can get a different prescription. Every time I call, I’m told someone will call me back shortly. They don’t. I called again today. No one has called me back. I had a doctor from a different office call to get my results in order to prescribe me a better medication, they didn’t get a response either. So here I am, not able to get new medication because no one is returning calls.
This is a clean facility and the staff is pleasant. I’ve seen different doctors at times and they seem competent. The wait however is hit or miss. Although there were only two people ahead of me I was in there for almost 2 1/2 hours for an antibiotic. It is a suitable place to go for something not extremely urgent.
Front staff was very rude to me, as I was trying to understand their policies for pre-employment screenings. The receptionist or whoever she was kept saying she had to take other patients, and wouldnt answer my questions stating a doctor was not going to fill out my forms. While trying to understand why and seek clarification so that I would know how to proceed she repeatedly said she needed to take other patients. While I understand that there are patients that are in need of urgent care, maybe there should be someone available who is capable of handling more than one situation at a time or has time to answer questions.
I took my son to the Newark office today because his asthma was glaring up. The two young ladies at the front desk were lazy, rude, disrespect, lying and unhelpful. I can confirm that the other reviews about the front office staff are absolutely correct. They don’t answer the phone. After I saw the doctor I went to the checkout desk and the girl was too busy eating a pizza to even acknowledge me. There were many other things that I won’t go into. I hope one day they find themselves in the same position one day.
Went in 11/19 with an ear infection. The doctor that saw me CLEARLY noticed the fluid in my ear. Sent me home with a script for an allergy medication. Im in excruciating pain wth nothing. Last time I came in with the same issue, back in July, the NP, Nicole, issued antibiotics and everything cleared up and I was fine. Im absolutely disturbed by my visit yesterday..... still sitting here today as my ear has gotten worse and not sure if I want to bother with going to this med express just to be sent home with nothing.
I had to visit MedExpress at Newark, DE for a COVID-19 test, suggested by the Delaware Public Health department because my kid was exposed to someone with COVID-19 at school. We called the number on the door from the parking lot and they told us to wait around 30 minutes to get tested and told us that leaving the parking lot would result in a cancelled appointment. We ended up sitting in the parking lot for over 5 hours just to get tested. I completely understand that walk-in clinics are busy at this time of the year, but dont understand why I am forced to wait for a room and see a physicians assistant as the nurse completed the nasal swab and test and my kid did not have any symptoms. I am extremely disappointed.
I was asked to call a number from car to register and once I did it , I was asked to come in. The lady at the reception said i need to wait for 2 hours. I mentioned to her that I have a new baby at home and will come back in 2 hours. The reception lady didnt really care about my situation. She simply said i cant leave the building premesis for 2 hours which i found to be ridoculous and idiotic.
Made an appointment for 4 oclock. At 5:30 was told two people were still ahead of me. Told them I was leaving and wanted my copay back. Miraculously my spot opened up. The receptionist was extremely rude and disrespectful. The nurse who did the test was professional. Will never come back and will tell everyone never to go there. Awful!
I had a virtual and in-person visit with the Newark, DE office. The staff were fantastic... from the receptionist, to the Med Tech to the Nurse Practitioner and the physician. I wish I had written down the names of the first few staff members that helped, but they were friendly, helpful and provided information about what came next. The Nurse Practitioner, Johnita Tiller, asked numerous questions to find out what was wrong, provided a lot of information, and provided next steps for follow-up after my visit. She was engaging, informative and very calming with the information she provided. I appreciated my visit with her very much. --- A couple of days later I also talked with Dr. Lee about test results, and in both calls she provided information and next steps. Although our conversations were brief, she was extremely helpful. --- I was very satisfied with the support and medical help, and want them to know how much I appreciate each of the staff I met during my phone calls and my in-person visit. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!
I called in the morning to make an appointment and was told that they dont take appointments. I was told that the procedure was just simply show up, call to register, and that it would take somewhere between 45 minutes to 2 hours to be seen. In spite of being sick, I dragged myself out of bed and drove a half an hour to get a covid-19 test. When I arrived and called the number, I was told that all the appointment times for today had been filled. When I explained my earlier phone call, and I explained that I had driven a flipping half hour to get there, the woman on the phone said that she wasnt going to tolerate that kind of foul language. I said that I hadnt used foul language, although I want to. At that point she hung up on me. I called back and asked to speak to a supervisor. I was given a phone number that went straight to a voicemail that said nothing about MedExpress.
Been here before and had great service. I guess the easy to change website which says walk in for covid testing is a lie. Been waiting over 2 hrs in parking lot with my 85 yr old mother who wanted a test due to symptoms. After 2 hrs we called...they said another hour or two. Amazing.
My fiancee & I needed a COVID test 3 days prior to flying to Jamaica for our honeymoon. We decided to come here, in addition to Curative. The morning, before we left, i read the reviews (I shouldnt have). They were horrible & I freaked out & was not going to go. We decided to stick to the plan, & we got here at 7:50 & we both started calling at 7:55. By 8:05, we were both put on hold, it was about 5 minutes. He got the intake on his call, so i hung up. A very pleasant lady took our information & we shared some laughs. About 20 minutes later we were called to come into the office. Everyone was pleasant & we were in & out of there by 9:05am. You just have to be patient & hold on the line & let the process take its course.
The front desk staff were rude, they were not nice at all. I came to them at 12:30pm with a smashed fingers and I was suffering pain. The front desk schedule an appointment for me after on 2:30pm, she told me that I can’t leave the office during that time. I was wasting my time waiting for 2 hours. After that, I came to her asking about my appointment, she was really rude and watching a drama on her phone instead of helping the patients. I told her I will leave I will come back within 10 mins (to get a lunch). Immediately, I got a SMS from them for canceling my appointment.
The front desk staff are rude, Disrespectful, and are showing no concern for the patients. Constantly stating there’s a 3 hour wait. Turning away individuals after they have not “called before entering” one lady explained she didn’t have a cell phone to make the call and they simply told her to figure out a way to contact because she cannot be in the building due to a sore throat.I came in today hoping to be seen urgently being that the waiting room and parking lot was empty. I came in and they stated it would be a 3 hour wait and they weren’t sure if I could be helped even after waiting. I’ve received multiple eye rolls and slick comments from both receptionists. I’m HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED, DISSATISFIED, DISGUSTED, and DISRESPECTED being a paying patron of an office that’s main focus is to help individuals who come in I’m very not happy. If there was an office manager here I would definitely be complaining to them as well. These two ladies apparently do not wish to be in the field of helping being that they are not inclined to help the people entering the office. Also the receptionists, Have been taking their mask off constantly putting myself and others that enter at risk. Being that ive been in the office waiting for the past hour and a half I’ve witnessed very poor skills from these receptionists. Again I’m very DISAPPOINTED, DISSATISFIED, DISGUSTED, and DISRESPECTED.These ladies are on their phones and having conversations amongst themselves, when I came in I was not greeted. I had to approach the desk myself. The one receptionists is raising her eyebrows and expressing signs of stress on her face while speaking with me and others. She’s speaking with no regard to my situation saying things like “well ion know” “you might just wanna go to the hospital, if you don’t want to wait here”
Sitting outside for almost 2 hours for an appointment that they said would be 45 minutes when we arrived!! 😳 I called them 50 minutes ago and she said that 1 person was ahead of us!! This is totally ridiculous and unbelievable! She had the nerve to say that they had a couple of emergencies to take care of and that is why they are behind but we have been here and NO ONE has gone in to be seen for an emergency!! I hate being lied to and will think twice before coming here again! SMH 😕👎
I came in on 12/12/22 severe pain caused by an infection. Lady at the front desk & both nurses were so respectful, nurturing, and nice to me . I had some anxiety about going to any medical facility with the holidays and tons of sickness going around, also with how much our medical are overworked at this time . Needless to say all of that was unnecessary at Med Express. Thank you !!
I went in because I have had this Nasty cough for 2 weeks. My chest was super tight and my lungs where in pain. I work with children witch multiple have been out due to upper respiratory infections. I tested negative for covid 2 times at home. All the doctor did was test Me for covid! The doctor only spent maybe 5 minutes with me didnt not check a single thing. I would not recommend this place to anyone who is sick.
I only went there once a year ago. I had an urgent medical need, they had me waiting for 2 hours and then told me that I could not see a doctor today I would have to come back. I went to the emergency room at Kent general, also known as bayhealth. I was treated and felt better the next day because they actually care.
For being an urgent care, this place lacks urgency. I knew I had pink eye when I showed up, and I waited nearly an hour to meet with the physician. After she wrote me a RX for eyedrops, it took 25+ minutes for them to fill the prescription. When I asked reception how much longer it would be, they asked if I would rather they refund me instead of waiting for the antibiotics. I continued to wait because I needed the drops. Definitely will not be returning here. They don’t seem to value their customers’ time. Next time I’ll be heading to a Christiana Care clinic, they seem to have much better reviews.
Very bad experience . Wet out on Sunday 10/03 for my kid covid test . Very irresponsible with the person who attended the call . First they kept us waiting for more than an hr when there is not much of ppl waiting . And during the visit , nurse gave us few printouts where we can register and view the results . After few days called them to check how to do that . The front office replied there is no registration kind of and having issues with email id. So registration can’t be done . I calle d them again on follow up day to check the report they said some will call me when they had reports . I waited a day and called back and they said it’s not with them and I need to follow up with labcorp . I heard 3 different stories on 3 calls . Very bad experience . I never recommend the place to anyone .
Was very helpful beingvable to make an appointment as that reduced everyones exposure to each other. Staff was very pleasant and accommodating. In and out quickly.
The wait it to long and this one lady cindy at registration will smile at you but talk behind patients back. She was bad mouthing someone who had called in to ask a question to the other employee. I find that very unprofessional. Also i was told i couldnt be seen unless i left a card on file. Mind you all my bills were paid up to date for myself and my children who had been there before. I was forced to pay $25.00 for a small bill that was sent to collections in 2012 and forced to keep a card on file. I need to look into this bill because i have a $3000 health spending card and have no reason to skip on my bills. was in a lot of pain so had no choice but to stick around but you could believe it will be the last time. She then told the next customer who was white it was okay if he didnt have a card to leave on file. Thanks Cindy you suck.
I didnt know how Id feel about walk-in medical service when MedExpress first opened their doors, but now Im so grateful to have them in our neighborhood! The doctor and staff are always kind and compassionate, as well as skilled and efficient, whenever we need medical care. Complaints from other reviewers should be taken in context. Remember that people who are unhappy are much more likely to write a review than someone who is satisfied. This small staff supports the health needs of thousands of nearby residents and our community is much healthier due to their dedication.
I went there in a state of panic with a very bad case of poison ivy on my face and neck which was getting worse by the minute. The receptionist was not very welcoming, but was accurate in the wait time estimation. The nurse was very kind, and the MD solved my problem quickly and was very informative about instructions on treatment and how to avoid reinfection. I am grateful that my problem was solved with medication which I was able to fill at a pharmacy in the same shopping center before it closed. I took the med in the car before driving home and felt relief later that night.
Oh my goodness. I have never been so disrespected. The service is awful and literally 0 to no compassion. I got here at 9:01. I am JUST NOW leaving at 11:29 after I was told it was only a 40 minute wait, with a “maybe” diagnosis of strep throat. The doctor spent a total of 2 minutes with me. Barely spoke to me. I have a 3 year old at home and strep is contagious so now I’m worried with very little to no information and antibiotics that may or may not work. When I came in with the same symptoms 3 WEEKS AGO it was dismissed as allergies. From now on I’m just going to my PCP. THIS WAS A COLOSSAL WASTE OF TIME. Don’t bother emailing me or requesting an email I will not be returning.
They need to do better with the covid testing systems. You can’t walk in, and you can’t make an appointment; you have to waste your time going to the building, make almost 100 failed attempts at calling before you even get through just to be told they are not taking anymore test at that time and you have to come back. All while sitting in there parking lot for almost an hour, because God forbid you get through and you’re not in the parking lot, they will rudely tell you, you can’t be seen. What a joke.
This is the worst place ever I saw it in my life. I lived in like 5 different countriesThat guys un respect the patient at all and Very rude . I called the to make an appointment and the told me you gonna wait 2.5 hours to 3 hours and we will call you but you have to be outside in the parking lot. I wait until the call and she said we will meet you outside I keep waiting like 10min no one comes. I called them and the one she answer said we cancelled your appointment because you didn’t come in . I told her you said we will meet me outside. She said outside means in meeting room. I went inside and asked her to speak with the manager she said no manager here, I said no one I can speak with him about my appointment I was waiting over 2 hours and have she said no you have to leave or I will call the police . I said call the police I’m not gonna leaveThem very rued and meanI will never ever go back over thereAnd will tell everyone about how them very mean and rude to the sick people going over there to get quick service
I called into this location to see if I could be seen there because I was having a lupus flare and needed a prescription and my Rheumatologist could not get me into an appointment until next month!! The receptionist put me on hold to check with a doctor there and came back to the phone to let me know there was nothing they could do for me saying they are not familiar with my situation!! I was baffled and confused!! With all the pain I am currently in that response just made my day worst!! They could be the last standing medical center on earth and I would not go there and suggest anyone else to not as well! I can also remember another time a few years back going there and they were rude from the receptionist to the nurse!! Don’t know why I even bothered! Sad to know they are in the medical field to help people!!
We were turned away an hour before close last night so we came back this morning only to wait nearly 4 hours when we were told maximum two hours or less when we called to check in. They need to do a better job at giving an expected wait time. At this point, they need to offer appointments. There is no efficiency.
The only reason I give it a star is because I could not post without one. Bad not good at all. I called from home to make an appointment to make an appointment I went to the facility and called from outside, no answer. Twice I was there calling from outside, no answer. If I cant get in to reviw the care, the not answering is an indication of the care I would get. I have also read posts that have been unfavorable. I would go somewhere else rather than this place.
I stopped by for a routine covid 19 test. They said it would be a three and a half hour wait. You have to wait in the parking lot until they call you. I was called in Three hours. the whole test took about fifteen minuets. Everyone was nice. Would definitely go there again
Really a garbage place, they try to make people wait in car to indicate their status, they tell you to call them and wait call back at parking lot while being a walk-in clinic. And their call back can be after couple hours. You need stay on your car at parking lot for couple hours, this is what they think is ok. The medical system is really about corruption, it supported by physical, chemical and electronic technic, but the medical itself is garbage, the higher price didn’t bring development but indeed brought corruption and arrogant.
I don’t recommend this healthcare facility for Covid19 test. I called yesterday to get an appointment. They told me to call today at 8am as they only take the same-day appointment. When I called them today, they said they didn’t have any appointments available, but I could get registered and wait in the parking lot. They would call me whenever they got a spot for me and that may take up to 2 hours. All that was fine, but to leave me in a room for an additional hour is unacceptable. I had to get out and remind them that I was still there waiting for my test result.
When I usually go, its always quick. This time going in the associates at the counter were rude so that made it uncomfortable to start with. Then I had to sit for two hours. I have never went here and sat for that long.
Even after seeing so many poor reviews, I still decided to take a chance! Boy, was it wrong!! First, I was kept on hold for 20 minutes. Then the call got disconnected. Next I spoke to an actual person for COVID testing and she said come to the location and call when you are outside. Went there, parked outside and called. The person who answered did not even know the process and eventually told me there was a three hour wait and when I asked her how they would let me know when it was my time to get tested, they said they would call me. I asked to which number since they had not taken an details. She put me on hold. I cut the phone and drove back home. If the first person had told me the proper process, then I probably would not have wasted my time and thanked her. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Its worse than pathetic!
I arrived at the lot and called, as instructed. I was told there would be a 3 hour wait and needed to pay the co-pay. I was also informed I would have to remain in the lot during the 3 hour wait. Seems like theyd do better taking appointments. I made an appointment at U of D and got in and out so quickly, without a co-pay.
I was seen here on a Friday for Covid testing. I was told that my test results would be available on LabCorp’s website in 24 to 72 business hours. I was told that by the provider who evaluated me and it was also on my after visit summary. It has been three days and my results have yet to show on LabCorp‘s website. I understand that this is not something that MedExprews controls, however, when I called to verify that my test had been sent and that they had the correct name (because I recently had my name changed), I was told “I don’t know who told you your results will be available in three days, but our turnaround is usually 3–5 business days”. The lady was rude and was dismissive. In a setting where people are providing patient care, this should not be the attitude received by patients who are calling for their medical information.
I called inquiring if there was a wait time because I only have an hour for lunch and it would have taken me 15 minutes to there. Basically I was trying to see if it was worth my time trying to get there. I was told by the girl who answered the phone that there wasnt a wait at the moment but she couldnt predict the future. I found that remark to be very rude to say the least to someone who is obviously not feeling well. Well I can predict her future if she continues to treat customers this way and I called her and told her that much. I will never spend my money there and I will never refer anyone to that location.
I came in with sores on my face, finger and elbow in what would the next day be diagnosed as the contagious bacterial infection Impetigo. Dr. Jing Wei looked at me and said Doesnt look like a bacterial or fungal infection, go seek a 2nd opinion. This is malpractice.
The worse experience i ever had was at this location. Once upon a time med-express was my go to emergency care, not anymore ever again. I was rudely and racially denied services because they didnt have a X-ray machine she assumed I needed when I didnt. I wasnt even greeted, they were on their phones when I walked in, and treated me rudely and the company after faulted me for being upset and nasty IF the team was trained properly this wouldnt of happened. Forget Med-express!
I stopped in and there was one person in front of me. They had two people at the front desk and I still had to wait 10 minutes just to get to the front desk. I have insurance and was prepared to pay cash for my copay and then was told they will not see me without providing a social security number which is none of their business. I was told it is their policy and they will not see you unless you are willing to give it. I left because there are many other walk ins with better service and they will see you without you having to give you social security number.
3 hours plus wait time, they asked you to waited in their parking lot, but their parking lot was under construction. So you park out of their sight, in business next door, or you leave the packing lot for errands. They called you and said you are now put in the back of the line. Stay away from them if you want a good customer service experience.
I received service quickly. The staff was professional, courteous and provided clear answers that were understandable. Upon completion, I was provided with a complete medical report and follow-up instructions. The facilities were clean.
I had a wonderful experience. Wait time was minimal and the staff were friendly and professional. Kristen Stewart, the PA, and the other nurses were excellent in their customer service. I will definitely go back for future needs.
After a hard fall at home, I went to MedExpress. The wait time was short, and I received the best of care. The nurse was polite, interested in my problems, and professional. Dr. Wei was amazing! She stitched me up, gave me lots of great follow-up instructions, and could not have been more attentive. I went back for the stitches to be removed, and she re-checked my other injuries, giving me additional help and sound advice for at-home care. I credit her for my recovery. I highly recommend this MedExpress.
Very personable, was seen quickly, was very pleased with their professionalism.Thumbs 👍 would recommend this urgent care 1st.
Made an appt for a work physical and was turned away because I did not have my printed TB test results with me. Went to a different MedExpress location and they did not require this information.
My insulin pump broke I have 2 syringes to last until Monday Morning I went to urgent care they would not help I need a Rx to syringes or insulin pens. They told me to call my Dr. I live in a small Oregon town. The my Drs don’t work on weekends. They can get the information from the my hospital at home or my pump provider they would not even let me in the door. They this happened once before in Europe the providers there got me what I needed and there was no charge I would not give them any stars except I would not be able to post. I have never written a post like this before. Except this is serious. I’m on my way to the ER which will cost me a fortune
Ordered a walk in rapid + PCR COVID testing in an Thursday afternoon. Wait in parking lot about 45 min after providing information over the phone. Testing takes about 15 min. I would say waiting length really depends on number of doctors and people waiting in line.
I love urgent care centers mostly, but the service at MedExpress in Chesnut plaza is insane 2 hour wait to unrinate in a cup and leave. Why? My wife was next one in line for over an hour. Had to update 3 hours.
Whoever works the front desk, please terminate their employment. Her tone was extremely condescending and dismissive.I followed all the protocols required of me and when I arrived, I was not greeted warmly at all. This isn’t be being angry or bitter, I truly believe that if a MAJORITY of these reviews are 1-starred then this is truly a bad location. Please go elsewhere until they fix their issues.
The wait time is anything but express. I went there for a simple employment drug test, 1.5 hours to be to pee in a cup. One staff member was looking through my file for 5 minutes , never asked me a question or assisted, then went into a patient room behind me.
I called an hour before for Covid rapid testing and they said I had to come to the parking lot. So I came to the parking lot at 4pm and now they are saying they can’t take any more patient for Covid testing. They are telling to come back later today, they close 8 pm. I don’t know why can’t they put my name in line if they think I can come back later. I don’t see that many cars in the parking lot. Not a good place for Covid testing. Had a similar experience before.
In order for this med express to thrive, they need to fire their front desk receptionist. The most disrespectful girls I met , doctors are nice but the front desk girls has to go. The rude looks and shade as if they didn’t choose that job , not friendly or kind.
Very thorough, efficient, courteous, timely care. Very happy with such an efficient, personable receptionist. The nurse pleasant and very thorough caring Doctor Ogden.
My husband went in Saturday for a COVID test. He still does have his test results today Wednesday night . This is unacceptable. He calls every day! Today he was told how busy you are. How can you treat your consumer this way when he was told 24 hours ! You affected his health, his job and this household. I will inform the better business bureau . Unacceptable
Maybe I went on a good day for a covid test.Pulled in the lot, called the desk and was told about an hour wait. I was called one hour later, entered, was tested and left. That took 15 minutes. All 3 staff members that I interacted with were, polite, prompt, professional.
This place gives you an appt at 1215 pm it’s now almost 2pm and I’m still waiting. It’s November they have the AC on high. You will get sick while waiting the the waiting area ! It’s a hurry and wait environment. Worst than ER !
3hr wait for a 5 mins session with doctor. Not a busy day either
There is a sign on the door saying not to come inside and to call a phone number. It required 7 phone calls before anyone answered the phone. I walked inside and two people were sitting at the front desk doing nothing. This facility is unhelpful and the staff is lazy. Do yourself a favor and go to the New Castle location. They answered right away, were polite, and provided the information needed to get checked in and taken care of quickly.
It was nice to be able to schedule an appointment ahead of time. I’m very happy with the care I received and the concern I was shown.
This place is honestly a joke. I’ve never been turned away for wanting to get checked for STDs. I was told that I literally needed to be showing symptoms before I could be seen which is absolutely the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard because you don’t always have symptoms. Not to mention, I called before arriving because I walk and the nurse didn’t even think to ask me what I wanted to be seen for so I wasted my time walking in the heat to get there and couldn’t even be seen. Do better
This is the worst place. When I checked in, I told them specifically what I was there for. 1-1/2 hours later, was brought back and told that they do not offer those services. Could not get my deductible back. Will not return.
Ive been to this MedExpress multiple times since it opened and Ive always been very happy with the care received. The staff have always been nice and the doctors very thorough. Another plus is that you can often get prescriptions right there - which saves you a trip to the store when youre sick.
Caring staff and I love that you actually see a MD instead of an assistant. I will never go to an urgent care again. Med express is a very good and professional place to go for medical treatment 💯
Awesome, neat and healthy environment, caring and accommodating.
Told me an hour wait. I could have done my grocery shopping, washed the car, gone home and put in a load of laundry. Its been 2 hours and 20 minutes. I dont get it. There is no one waiting in the parking lot. I got here 15 minutes after they opened. Must be having a long breakfast. Went grocery shopping and then went home. After 4 hours I got a call. They claimed there was only one doctor and someone came in thinking he had a heart attack. Why wouldnt an ambulance be called and why do I need a doctor for a covid test? I had one before and never saw a doctor. I gave up.
We frequent this medexpress often, and have always had a pleasant experience. NP Vissy-Sterling saw me just before close. I went to the pharmacy and found my prescription was $212.00!! I called her back at closing time, she wrote me a new script and waited for me to come back after her shift. Amazing customer service from a professional that cares.
I wish I could give something less than 1 star. This place is real headache. I think you shouldnt use the word Express in name because they literally put you on wait and never come back to you like decades.
I went to medexpress ,my dr. Sent me in due to a very sore throat with white spots. I get in there and the Dr. acted like I was poison! She stood so far away spent 5 seconds looking down my throat and she said there was nothing! Then tried to give me and antibiotic I can’t take! Someone behind a desk with a mouth full of food, said you can take it we have given it to you before. This is the seconded time I have had problems with the same Dr.! I would not have even given you one star.
This place used to be professional and friendly. Zero stars if I could. Rude Intake staff who pushes to keep a card in file for authorization purposes when you have already met your out of pocket max. Would suggest you go elsewhere and not waste about a hour of your time waiting just to get your license and insurance card back.Remediation is needed with intake staff.
I waited for 22 minutes to see a doctor and was treated very well by the staff and the doctor. I was also able to fill the RX at the office and the doctor prescribed the least expensive one. Overall a very positive experience, especially considering that its an emergency clinic and I was there on a Saturday.
Pleasant staff but totally understaffed! 2 plus hour wait for a sprained ankle? Should have more then one doctor on staff during these difficult times. If you come here plan on spending most of your day here.
I am feeling better. The nurse that took care of me was the kindest, caring person. She knew how sick I was and really showed she cared. Soft spoken and we need more people like her. Thank you.
Just made a simple call asking simple questions, only had like 3 short questions and the receptionists just sound so rude and miserable. no one wants to hear that when calling to ask for basic information about covid testing that is not accurately described on the website, and rushing me off the phone doesnt make me feel very cared for...shouldve looked at these reviews before i even wasted my time calling, theres a reason that you have TWO AND HALF STARS hahaha! overwhelming majority is all 1 star reviews. so in regards to this building...remember everyone they are here to profit from you, not to help you.
Unprofessional! Im trying to find a location that does rapid response testing for my granddaughter before she starts college. The employee answering the phone act as if I called and interrupted her dinner at home with her family. Her tone indicated she was annoyed by my call. If this is the level of treatment by this establishment before visiting the location then I certainly have little confidence in them. Taking my business elsewhere.
Just want to say, wonderful experience, Saturday at 3:00p.m. waited five minutes. The front gals happy and very friendly. My nurses funny and very pleasant, Dr very sweet, X-Ray tech also assisted as a nurse too.Thank you all so very much,From my twisted lft broken metatarsal.🏩🏨🏩👍✌
The black female is so rude to let the family members stay outside the waiting area. After sitting there for 30min, this person tells us that only patient can stay and then force my family members to go outside. Bad service and attitude, stay away from this medical service and save your time and money:)
The wait time is unbelievably long, and I even noticed some nurses and front desk staff walking around with their masks not on their face correctly. The lady who helped me was amazing however. Not worth your time to come here.
Ive been here a number of times. Every time we end up waiting an hour or more for a 15 minute visit. It might even be easier just going to a primary care physician. The staff are very nice but the wait is just too long.
Our experience at Med Express- Rt. 4 Newark DE was excellent!Great customer service from the time we were checked in to the nursing care provided. I highly recommend Med Express!
I visited this clinic for treating the Cutaneous Abscess on Monday morning. Waiting time is too long (more than 2.15 hours). They did the diagnosis and informed me that large lump Abscess and in critical position so recommended to go to Hospital Emergency Services. I went to Newark Urgent Care and treated very well. I will get huge bills from hospital If I went to ER services. Thanks God.
The worst med express in Delaware lady in the front with the braids doesn’t do anything but read a book and doesn’t attend to anyone and the wait time for even just a drug test was 4 hours and I still didn’t get it they are ridiculous in there never again had the whole wait room complaining bc no one got called up
I was sent there my nurse practitioner mother and my family doctor to have a skin infection looked. I’ve been there before so I went. The infection is really bad, the nurse listened to why we were so concerned about it and understood why I needed to be seen so fast. My BP was 144 over 100 with the meds I’m on for it. I was in a lot of pain and couldn’t hand touch around it. Once I was put in a room to wait for the doctor, I waited 10mins ,( I had my mom on the phone when she walked in, so I put it down) the doctor looked at it , said put this cream on and don’t let ur stomach put weight on it. ( the infection is on my c section scar). She then walked out! She was in with me for 2 mins. My mom and her office heard the whole thing. My paperwork says i need to see my doctor about my BP problem and about my weight. Im On meds for BP and my weight is healthy BMI 29. I will never go there again, and my mom and doctor will never refer patients there again. I left crying and my doctor told me to come right in
Not sure why it takes 3 hours to give someone a standard physical. To make the visit even more nauseating, the doctors literally argued with us about the information we were providing them. Hopefully I never have to go back there again. The only reason I’m giving 1 star is because at least I got to watch HGTV while sitting through it.
I visited this clinic with what I’m 100% sure was a sinus infection. I came on Saturday morning, the receptionist checked me in and I went back and was seen by a nurse practitioner. I was reprimanded for my other health issues instead of being assessed for my serious head cold to which I came in for. The nurse was sarcastic and condescending and diagnosed me with allergies rather than the sinus infection that I later was inevitably diagnosed with. I was given a prescription for meds that didn’t work and could be bought over the counter anyway. Would not recommend and would not return.
Drove up to get COVID-19 tested only to be told that they are on a pause and to try later. Several cars are waiting. Another car drove up, made a call and the nurse came right out and did the Covid-19 test on her while the rest of us watched. I asked the person if they had made an appointment, and they had not, they just drove up and called like us. So, what gives? I tried calling again only to be told to wait.
The doctor was great but if I had to decide from first impressions what the service would be like I’d never have made it to the doctor. The front desk receptionist is not friendly or helpful and was rather put offish in her demeanor
Went there today because of allergenic pink eye which makes my eyes are very red and crust up when I wake up from sleeping. When I see the nurse practitioner she doesnt even lookat my eyes which is clearly really red i have my paper work from the last time I came there with the same symptoms and she just gives me a covid test which was negative, gives me regular eye drops and allergy pills which I have already. Just tried to rush me out without diagnosing the problem.
There’s a reason there rating is so low. Came in for a burn and sat in the waiting room for 3 hours. Very little people where in there but kept letting people go before me and everyone else in there. There page is full of people with the same experience. Stay clear, they need to really get there stuff together and listen to there reviews
WORST urgent care ever, the receptionist on the phone was incredibly rude, put us on hold AND hung up on my call without any notice. Told me to wait but never let me in until they are closed that day. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE.
The three stars was from decent past experiences, however DO NOT go for Covid testing! Very long wait and 50% of the results myself and my family got, including the ones that were sent out, were WRONG!! They also charge $200 if you dont have insurance!! This is all just WRONG!
I only gave 5 stars so ppl can read. NOT WORTH TIME OR MONEY. LACK OF EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE. $150.00 was cost. I dont even think women was a doctor. She seemed so unsure of all the info she gave. She was in room with me 4 minutes. So will never go back. Then she write me a prescription for cortisone 10.....didnt even say it was over counter. Horrible experience. It was at the point i kindly told her she doesnt seem sure of anything. Bad experience..GO ELSEWHERE
The most rude front desk ever encountered with. Please avoid visiting or calling this MEDEXPRESS unless this is the last urgent care open on the planet. The front desk women are so rude that they just want to disconnect the call ASAP and looks like they just do not want to work and just enjoy at work. They do not provide any info on call (even the basic ones).AVOID THIS AT ALL COST !!!!!
I arrived around 10am and was seated in the waiting area. I only waited about 15 minutes and was called back to do my drug screen. Then I was asked to wait in a room to have my physical. TWENTY FIVE minutes later I walked out to find a restroom and the person at the front desk askshave you seen a doctor yet? Umm... What? No maam I havent. Wheres the restroom?I return to the room to find them cleaning it! I was asked again have you seen a doctor? I replied NO I went to the restroom because Ive been waiting 25 minutes.I happened to look around the office and the waiting area COMPLETELY EMPTY! I was so disgusted I left at 11:17am. The customer service is so bad here. Dont waste your time.
When the person playing the doctor came in, there was no indtoduction. Checked my ears (not a complaint) and told me I had allergies. Maybe I do but they need to talk to you not at you. Treated me like I was 2 and unintelligent. BP 160/105 and she says its from meds and sends me home with steroids. Gee that will help my blood pressure! And by the way Im a critical care nurse and would be fired if I treated my patients they way she treated me. Just move into the area and havent had time to establish PCP yet. Unfortunate that people who look up to and depend on our healthcare personnel to take care of them will come into contact with this person. Im sure she will drawn your diagnosis out of a hat before she comes in!!
I went in to this urgent care for a minor infection and having waited for more than an hour in the waiting room i was led to see a nurse. I thought they would let me see a doctor at least after waiting for so long. The male nurse with a neck tattoo promptly prescribed me an antibiotic that turns out to be the worst type for this type of infection. Needless to say Im sick as a dog after taking this inappropriate antibiotic. Of all newer and less harmful type of antibiotic why this nurse would prescribe me this is beyond me. As I was leaving the the lady at the front told me that I could buy this antibiotic for $15 dollars right at the office. I replied that I would rather go through my insurance and pay the $5 co payment. I was led to believe that they are an establishment pushing drugs that the pharmacology companies present them that they otherwise would not be able to sell else where in a legitimate medical places, whether they are harmful or not. I will not go back to this quack place of a clinic again, and I urge you to avoid as well.
Went there told them that we couldnt get into our family doctor and what test our doctor said my daughter should have.. The P.a came in didnt even touch my daughter had the test done and told us to follow up with our Doctor if she gets worse. Didnt even check to see what else was causing her symptoms.. My older daughter went before, they told her she had cysts on her spine and a few other things and went to Dupont and none of that was true.. The place is a complete was of time, they just take your money. And it also smells!!
I live in Smyrna Delaware and drive upto this location because of the wonderful care I receive. I have seen nurse practioner Patty, and Nurse Jay and they took great care of my symptoms and concerns. Even though they are getting bombarded with covid testing they still have pleasant attitudes and give great care. Thank you for all you do!
No use of online appointment cuz after booking appointment at 1 pm they didn’t took us in till 3 pm and people who were walking in was going in first. Never will come back to this location ever
Im glad that they are offering COVID testing services on-site, but the system needs improvement. Instead of offering appointments to manage flow and social distancing, they want you to wait in the parking lot for hours. It defies logic in this age of technology.
I will never bring my kids or my self to this place the lady at the front disk was rude she told me that I have to wait one hour I arrived at 1:40 she told me I have to wait until 3:00 Pm she left me until 4:40 but before that I asked her because I know it was my turn because they call one person ahead of me when I asked her she told that I’m next but instead she call a lady that just arrived and she lied on my face telling me she have appointment at 2:00 never going back to med express
Don’t ever come here worst urgent care services I’ve ever experienced. Apparently this is a urgent care but I was waiting for 2 hours then decided to leave because of how long I had to wait and the large amount of sick people in the waiting room waiting to be seen coughing and coughing.
This is probably one of the worst walk in centers in my entire life. I walked in at 11:00 on a Sunday. There were only five or so people in the waiting area. It took them ONE HOUR AND THIRTY MINUTES to get to me. When I walked in I already knew I had laryngitis but wasnt sure if I had bronchitis as well (I had a terrible cough and could barely speak). After the nurse had done a vital check I gave her my medical background and the reason why I came in today (she could already tell why I was there because of my voice). Then took me to another room where I waited for another hour for the idiotic doctor to come in. (LETS KEEP IN MIND I CAN BARELY TALK). This doctor comes in, doesnt even introduce herself and proceeds to ask why I came in today. UM HELLO LADY I WAITED FOR YOU FOR AN HOUR AND YOU COULDNT EVEN SCAN MY CHART BEFORE YOU CAME IN??? After ten minutes of her asking me meaningless questions she comes to the conclusion that in fact I have laryngitis. Then this idiot proscribes me amoxycillin WHICH I AM ALLERGIC TO! Which she would have known if she had just read my chart. Then she proceeds to ask me if she thinks if I need an antibiotic and writes me a prescription for seasonal allergies instead of an antibiotic. The doctors name is Hema Gouru. Im honestly not sure how she passed her medical licensing exam because Im pretty sure she slept through med school. This visit honestly wasnt even worth wasting my time sitting there for an allergy pill I could have gotten over the counter for much cheaper. It sucks because I actually am sick and have to go to another doctor to get the correct medication.
Their wait time is a joke. Staffs are very unfriendly. Staff should be trained on how to relate to patients that are sick... i would give no star at all if i had the option. Never coming here again and Ill share my experience on social media.. a joke!!! ✌
Kirkwood highway location terrible terrible my daughters are very sick walked in to have them seen and treated so not only was the wait 2 hours long which wasn’t much of an issue but I asked the receptionist if it was ok to get them something to eat they told me it was fine they would call me someone called 2 hours later asked me questions and asked me if I was in my car I told her I went to get my girls something to eat she told me no I’m not outside and she was moving onto next patient because I was not in my car infront of MedExpress even if I was around the corner of location and she was absolutely mean about it to not be disrespectful to whoever called I hung up on her and decided to leave review never again now I might have to go to hospital with my two daughters because of their very crazy policy
I went at 4:30pm on a rainy sat. There were 3 people in front of me. I was seen by 4:45pm. I was released by 5pm. Im now at the rite aid nearby picking up my meds. They gave me prescriptions for all the posibilities and when I hesitated at the antibiotics, the doc agreed I could wait a couple days to see whether the other meds did the trick.
The Brookside office leaves much to be desired. The tech was condescending and rough with my daughter. She was not gentle when using the swab for her tonsils and pressed hard and jammed the swab to far down her throat and made a comment that she needed to open her mouth! I will stick to the Kirkwood hwy office. Much more compassion and they are all friendly at kirkwood!!
Be very careful when use the this particular location the minimum wait time is two hours and dont give them your credit card because they will charge your insurance and credit card same time and they are rude, they will hang up the phone on you the doctor will tell you that your medication has been sent to the pharmacy of your choice, not true
Love our local Med Express! Staff is knowledgeable, caring and welcoming. They have taken good care of our family through illnesses and minor accidents for years!
The receptionist is extremely rude, she rolls her eyes as you explain why you have an emergency and acts like shes paying YOU to be here... It seems like all they care about is processing and testing for Covid-19, no other illnesses, no matter how serious it is. Its as if they forgot that people suffer from other ailments besides Covid.
I had a dental appointment scheduled after my covid test. Robin and the rest of the staff helped me make it on time. They were exceptional.
No way I gotta wait 2 hours to pee in a cup. Figure yoself out please. Dont even forward this to the team cause we know you lyin...
Not sure why y’all still have both of those hiefers with the glasses at the desks servicing customers. They don’t even look black ppl in the face and are montone. Soon as a white person walks in, they are Jesus. They even had this guy come in 20 mins after me get checked in before I did and I was nothing but genuine. This ain’t the first time this has happened to me here. Too bad I was forced to come here...
Amazing, so glad I went to MedEx wonderful experience .Would def go there again for any medical needs
The receptionist was SO rude on the phone that I wouldnt even bother going in. Told me they have no nurse on staff and hung up on me. Great service. Not.
I came here to get a physical done and they made me wait more than 2 hours. There is no one else in the walk-in and it took the doctor 30 minutes to come and check me out. Terrible service and rude.
Really bad service and the people answering the phone are always in a bad mood, clearly they do not enjoy what they do! That is sad.
Great attention, as a Tourist they were able to provide medical care and helped me to travel. Dr Gouru was great and patient when i was explaining everything. Thanks for the care and support!
My Mother went in for a sore throats and both of her ears hurting. They gave no antibiotic, just told her that her throat was irritated. My ass. Now we all have sore throats with double ear infections in this house. Can take your money, but wont do anything for you. Smh. We live behind this Med Express, so its close...but, we will be going elsewhere from now on.
It was a hour and a half wait but the service is great.
Its times like this the world is in total chaos, and everyone is looking for a kind word or a warm smile, it started with a call for service, warm, professional, asurring and I started feeling better before I entered the building the customer service was Amazing, I wanted to leave Michelle a tip,but I thought theyd think I was different, so I said to myself if you can tip a waiter for good service, why not these angles great job team Michelle. Dr. Luther Vann Sessoms Jr
The worst service I ever had. The receptionists are very rude. They have bad attitude, they should not be working in any health care system. They should be fired for denying treatment for my 9 years old daughter, (chestnut hill plaza location).
I am not local and needed attention for an ivy type rash, I was VERY uncomfortable from it and it was spreading quickly. I received fast, courteous, and very competent care. Thank you so much for providing great service!
Attempting to call over the past two plus weeks (as of Jan. 07, 2022). Pone rings multiple times then shuts off. My pain med need to be refilled. The xrays have been requested by Dr. Handling however because your office refuses to answer the phone, I cannot convey this info.
Not sure who does the phone training but it surely needs some work. We had sensitivity training at my job and I believe everyone in the healthcare profession should do the same. I prefer the Medexpress in Bear but this one is closer...not my favorite choice but it works.
The medical professional who treated me was fantastic she listened to my needs and concerns and treated me there, But she also Got me an appointment to see my orthopedic specialist within two days I had been waiting for months to get in to see him
The worst place to go. Don’t expect any kind of nice words from the receptionist. The person who attends you was not a doctor but a nurse practitioner which you’ll get to know only during consultation. The nurse practitioner was not knowing to even find out if i have a sore throat. Don’t think of consulting any of the doctors here. No star!!!
Very kind, patient and attentive office staff but waiting for 2 hours to get a tetanus shot for my job is way too long! Other then that great location, great staff!!
No sense of urgency whatsoever. I came in just for a drug screen for a job and was there over an hour. Wasnt even busy
When I say the staff was super friendly and helpful down to offering me a water while I wait was just thoughtful enough waiting room was clean an not to mention the BIG GUY DOC.O HE IS ONE AMAZING GUY NOW DAYS PEOPLE DONT CARE TO HAVE A GENERAL CONVO HE TOLD ME MORE THINGS ABOUT MY HEALTH THAT I DIDNT KNO ITS THE LITTLE THINGS AN HE MADE MY MORNING WE NEED MORE MEN LIKE HIM....THANK YOU MEDEXPRESS NEWARK
Website says they do IV fluids for dehydration. Called before I went in and asked if they did and was told yes. Walked in and was immediately told they do not do IV fluids. Spoke to the doctor on duty and he stated because they have no way of testing electrolyte levels he will not give me fluids even though he said he could clearly see I was dehydrated.
You ever sat on hold for 2 hours and 45 mins? Neither have I prior to calling this place. And then to go in and be told wait was 3 to 4 hours to be seen.. nice!!!
I have NOT been to Med Express for quite some time. The last time I did go was good, but I really wish you would STOP these e-mails!
2.5 hour wait to get a physical...person at the check in desk was rude and not friendly...Doctor didnt even acknowledge me sitting in the room as we were the last patients in there an hour after the office closed. I will definitely not come back to this office...
I have been going there for one year. Everyone there is professional, helpful and considerate. I definitely recommend going there for basic healthcare.
MedExpress is fast and efficient when you have a minor problem and need to be treated quickly. Their staff is courteous and professional.
Terrible. Didnt know an outstanding balance was on the books. The front desk woman behaved as if I owed her the money personally.
Very nice PA nicole dilorenzoShe went above beyond . Explain about the antibiotics. But have to admit I am glad that she gave them to me. I do think its a bad sinus infection
This is tue most disgusting med express ever, service us absolutely rude. The DESK workers need to be fired. They’re very rude and do not allow you to speak about your case. They lie about the waiting time and this place needs some revision.
Went in for a simple matter and the older caucasian at reception had a poor attitude and seemed rude . Evn watch her with some other clients , just unprofessional and none had on masks at the reception counter .Go elsewhere .The lady i did see was the only nice person i encountered.
Terrible service the nurses got snippy with me and told me I just should see a primary doctor which I don’t have. They hung up on me and I just want to be helped. It’s like they put all the med school drop outs and nursing school drop outs in one place.
I called yesterday to see if results came back the lay wholl answered didnt even ask my name she just said no. My bf went to get his covid test and they continued to tell him he doesnt have insurance though he does. They also continued to hang up on his insurance company!!! Who does that?!
Im Not From The Delware Area But Im Here , Visiting I Went In Very Nervous Not Knowing What Was Wrong With Me , I Was Very Anxious & The People Here Were So Patient & So Nice Beginning At The Front Desk Very Polite , I Seen A Nurse Practioner Named Vissy-Sterling , Ive Never Felt So Comfortable In A Facility, You Walk Into Places Sometimes & You Just See Judgement On So Many Faces Like Your Not There To Be Helped & Everyone Was So Down To Earth , Hands Down A Wonderful Experience , I Would Also Like To Recongzine The Medical Assistant Holly Who Helped My Nurse She Was Very On Point , & She Let Me Squeeze Her Hand , Popping A Cyst With A Needle Is No Joke , It Was Painful But They Were Amazing ! I Would Suggest This Place 10000 Times 😊😊Thank You EveryOne ❤️
Visited 30 minutes before they closed, very nice and friendly staff. Took care of me right away and were even able to dispense the medication I needed right there. Saved me a trip to the 24 hour pharmacy.
I thought I’d be waiting for an hour or more but was surprised that I only waited 10 minutes. Everyone was friendly, courteous and explained things in detail.
