Scammers! Told me on the phone initial consultation will be $200. Got my credit card charged $200 after the consultation, but then they sent me another $146 bill in mail for the same consultation. Billing office has autoresponder, been leaving messages for a week already. They were so eagerly calling me to set up the consultation, now complete ignore both on Upmc app and the phone.
The PCOS center is entirely unhelpful and will charge for visits that give no single thread of advice. As if this condition isnt frustrating enough, leave it to UPMC to only make you feel worse about yourself and completely waste your time and charge you money for providing no service. Skip the unhelpful PCOS care center specialists and go literally anywhere else.
I have had a terrible experience working with UPMC fertility. I cannot quite pin if its willful or just disorganization but its been a series of issues. 1. They prescribed a medicine that was made with a known allergen that was listed on my record- thankfully i read all the labels. Its not a rare allergen its literally nuts. 2. They repeatedly do not return calls even after a week which if you know fertility treatment you need to move immediately so this forces missed cycles and potentially wasted thousands of dollars 3. I have to ask them multiple times to call in prescriptions 4. Theyve forced painful procedures done outpatient and only offered tylenol 5. They constantly misgender my wife and honestly have to question if us being a gay couple has something to do with the treatment. I would avoid them, at best they are a disorganized mess, at worse maybe actively biased against certain people? I wish I had gone elsewhere years ago. Weve wasted years and thousands on these people and they treat us like dirt.
Avoid UPMC at all costs. I was a patient in their facility for years, and they consistently misled me, causing me to lose thousands of dollars (treated like a number instead of an individual). Moreover, they forced me to undergo surgeries that I later learned (from another clinic) were unnecessary which caused permanent scarring in my uterus.Even if its less convenient, I would urge you to weigh your options before beginning treatment with UPMC. They are far too big and do not have time to consider the nuances between patients.
I got pregnant at first try with IUI although the doctors never answer your questions or doubts . I left a message on the UPMC app telling my symptoms 3 weeks ago and never got an answer back then I got my first Sonogram on 08 /23/23 the Thecnician said everything looks good and the heart beat is great , when I see threport it says I have a cyston the left ovarie , got an email from UPMC saying that my provider haven’t had the “opportunity “ to review my results and not to panic . I called the nurse line asking to talk to the doctor because obviously I’m worry about it . I do feel some discomfort on the left ovarie , I also left. Message on my UPMC app and I don’t have an answer jet . This is very irresponsable how can they treat a patient like this without giving any information . Im very upset , dissapointed and I want my baby to stay healthy . I really hope this cyst won’t harm the baby or me . Please look for other options don’t go with them . Also nurses are mean
After 4 cycles of letrozole I was able to conceive and give birth. This was after THOUSANDS of dollars of testing. This is a luxury specialty but still treated like its government ran.My issue is they accessed my psychiatric records without my permission or release form .I then missed a cycle waiting for my psychiatrist to give me a note saying I am allowed to get pregnant.Which is a crazy concept considering pregnancy isn’t controlled .
The disorganization of this clinic is astounding! We missed an entire cycle despite repeatedly asking the nurses if they were sure that their instructions were correct. Their policies & procedures are definitely designed with heterosexual couples in mind. They are EXCEPTIONALLY strict with office protocol. I had a nurse be very rude & condescending when I asked if I could have my prescription called in 2 days early. She claimed there was no way an exception could be made and refused to ask the physician. The next month I asked the physician directly and she was happy to call it in early! Dr. Menke was one of the only organized, attentive & compassionate people we encountered in our 2.5 years at the clinic.
Now I see the reviews of this place, unfortunately I had a very unpleasant experience with them where the only thing I did was waste time, thank God I found another place. if you can stay away from this place its the best,
The staff did seem friendly. But they seemed very unorganized. We were there because my husband had cancer and we wont be able to conceive naturally. So we were LIVESTRONG patients who received a discount. We felt like we were treated as lower class citizens there. It could have just been my imagination, but I feel like we were put at the bottom of their priority since they werent making money off of us. Our first IVF cycle only yielded one egg and we opted to try again. They refused to offer us any LIVESTRONG discount the second time, which was fully their call. Instead of paying full price there when we were not confident in their ability to help us succeed with a second try, we decided to find another clinic instead.
They messed up some information about using known donors and dr sanflippo reached out to us personally to apologize a million times. He also worked with us to switch us to a new doctor who uses known donors within Upmc network. He is an amazing doctor very caring and it shows. I hope to still be able to use him even after this all for whatever may come next. Thank you dr sanflippo you’re amazing.
Been coming here since I was a teenager to prepare myself for having children in the future since I have a ton of endocrine issues. Now its time to have a baby and Ive never been treated so great by a team of medical professionals. Dr. Gosman is AMAZING to say the least. She is so compassionate and caring. If you have 2 hours worth of questions, she has no problem answering every single one openly and honestly. I honestly love her. I saw Dr Sanfillipo as a teen and even though I did t have any treatment at that point, just consultations and advice, he was super kind and helpful as well. All other staff is very kind and helpful as well. Some more than others but all in all a great place to try and have a baby😊😊😊😊 I totally recommend this facility and Dr Gosman and Dr Sanfillipo
One of the best experience I ever have. Maggie hospital I have great stuff.
I cannot explain how good I felt after leaving this place. They were so thorough and got us on a game plan that I felt confident in. They even let me know what my insurance covered without making it awkward. I would highly recommend this place!! Side note: I used the Penn Hills location.
Dr Katari is awful, and I would highly suggest no one have her as a doctor. Sanflippo is okay. Go somewhere else if you can, outside of Pittsburgh.
I wasted precious time with this practice. They only ended up pushing IVF and never tried to get to the route of my issues.
