I cannot say enough good things about HWH! I’ve been a patient for years and recently delivered my first baby with them. I had some scary complications in the final weeks of my pregnancy (and postpartum) that were taken extremely seriously. My healthy baby girl is now almost 2 months old thanks to the amazing doctors that kept us both healthy. Every doctor I encountered has been fantastic but Dr. Amarosa in particular made what could have been a very traumatic experience so much easier. I will always be thankful for the care I received!
I would award Harbour Womens Health 10 stars if I could, but five is the most I can give in this review.I have been going to Harbour Womens Health since 2018, when I was pregnant with my first child. I’ve now had two children at Portsmouth Hospital with the Harbour Womens Health team, I have met every single doctor, and everyone has been amazing. I have always felt like my needs have been heard, I have never felt pressured into doing any procedure or taking any medications, and I have always felt understood.Recently, I contacted Harbour Womens Health due to some medical concerns I was having. I have a 16 year history battling endometriosis, and have had four surgeries in that period of time with other doctors. Three of those surgeries were emergencies, where I was quite literally fighting for my life. When I called and spoke to the nursing staff and explained my history and my symptoms, there was no hesitation to bring me right in for an appointment. I had ultrasound imaging done, and the results were reviewed by Dr. Fleming. Dr. Fleming took the time to discuss numerous options with me in terms of what the next step should be. She had the images reviewed by a specialist, and it was determined I was going to need surgery. When I called the specialist office, I was told how long the wait was going to be for an appointment and instantly panicked. In the past, when I have waited on dealing with my symptoms, I have ended up in the ER, and I was terrified of that happening again. I called Harbour Womens Health with my concerns, and due to my history of having my fears downplayed by previous doctors, I was scared I would have to argue my case. The nurses and Dr. Fleming validated my fears and went above and beyond to figure out a way to make this happen for me sooner. They came up with another plan, and I was able to get an appointment only a week later. Karen in the records department made me feel extremely supported, and communicated with me the whole time as she struggled to get my almost 400 pages of medical records over to the Specialist office. She understood that time was of the essence, and made the decision to overnight my records to the new office to make sure I could maintain my appointment. Without the teamwork of Dr. Fleming, the nursing staff, and Karen, I would not have been able to get seen so quickly.Thank you to everyone at Harbour Womens Health for treating me like a real person. For listening to my fears, for understanding my history, and continuing to go the extra mile at every step that needed to be taken. I am grateful for all of you, and will continue to make the drive to be seen at your office. I always feared that I would have daughters one day and that they would inherit my condition. If ultimately they do end up struggling in the same way I have, I am glad to have doctors like you in our corner.
I cannot recommend this practice enough. Every staff member is polite and prompt. I especially cannot speak highly enough about the OBGYN’s. They take their time with me, are knowledgeable and professional. I cannot imagine going anywhere else for myCare. There’s not one provider I’d recommend over the other. I love them all!
This place is terrible. You can’t get care when you need it most. The doctors are cold and don’t care. To talk to anyone you need to leave a message in their voicemail and hope they call back. I tried to cancel an appointment several times and they would t get back to me until day of, so basically I was a no show lol. How about you pick up the phone like the rest of us? I called today at 1:45pm and the office is closed, ON A MONDAY. The worst part is, we, women living in the area are pretty much stuck with this people cuz we can’t find care here.
Great doctors but its almost impossible to schedule an appointment. I been waiting for my appointment for 4 months. The appointment was for this month and they already move me twice, (with different doctors, just to try to find some time this month) They just called to move it to November.
Every doctor at HWH is exceptional. They are kind, compassionate and knowledgeable. Each one brings such a unique perspective to your care and I couldn’t be more grateful. I’ve had 4 healthy children with this practice and also had a second trimester lose. My care during that lose and my pregnancy after was nothing short of amazing. The front desk staff are friendly and accommodating and always knew my name. Which is such a small detail but one that means a lot.I recommend highly for you ob and gyn needs.
I wrote an original review about the poor experience I had with pregnancy care at HWH. I stand by my review regarding my inability to individualize my pregnancy care plan at HWH. They require patients to follow their outlined pregnancy care guidelines, and will refuse to continue seeing pregnant patients who ask to avoid certain interventions. However, it is also only fair to update this review and say that when I had an unexpected complication that required immediate assistance, HWH was there for me. They fit me right in, they didnt treat me poorly for our previous disagreement regarding pregnancy care, and they continue following up and sending referrals.Though I still feel an independently owned midwife will be the best place for me to be taken care of for routine, low risk pregnancy care, I am grateful for HWHs professional care regarding my unexpected complication and would continue seeing them for all other necessary care.
Doctors are cold. Horrible bedside manner. Zero empathy or sympathy. Try to prescribe you medicine for money. Money driven. I’ve been going here for years and never felt comfortable - don’t know why I kept going back. After this past time, I will 100% not go back.
Had a mixed experience my first pregnancy. Dr. Nelson was the only person I liked but she doesn’t work in obstetrics anymore. That experience was mixed, as I said, and my two experiences since have been unsupportive and traumatic. The doctors and staff are so cold and always in a rush to get appointments over with. I don’t feel comfortable going into all the details I’ll summarize a bit. Messages never returned, overcharged for services I was never made aware of in a super vulnerable state, poor bedside manners, etc. I’m so sad and feel taken advantage of. This is the end of my relationship with Harbor. I stayed because it felt too hard to change but I’d rather be unhappy having to go somewhere unfamiliar than be unhappy with the treatment I’ve received here.
I saw Dr Amarosa for my gynecologist. I have PCOS and at the time she was very helpful and non judgemental about doing STI testing. She also performed my tubal ligation and it went really smoothly and she did a really good job. I have since moved away, but am returning to the area and want to see her again. Every time i come to this office(Portsmouth) Im seen promptly and everyone is nice. The providers also know what they are talking about. And if you call to talk to the nurse they either answer or call back in a timely fashion.
Love HWH!!! They have helped me with 4 pregnancies!! All the providers are very caring & supportive!
Edit:Harbor women’s health did a bacterial test on me and it came back positive with bacterial vaginosis late in my second trimester (medication was taken to get rid of it). After moving to york, my doctor informed me that this was not bacterial vaginosis but was indeed GBS which can be very harmful for baby if antibiotics are not given during the labor process. Once again, so happy I switched OB’s.First post:Absolutely awful. So about a month ago I had my last appointment before leaving this practice in the dust. I saw Dr. Fleming and, for lack of better words, she completely lacked any kind of empathy for a first time mother. I was told that I would find 0 support in the NE for how I wanted to raise my family (we’re not big on ALL of the vaccines they try to give) and that if I wanted support for minimal vaccination I should move out of state. Let me go ahead and say , I know everyone had their own opinions and I respect them, I just ask for mine to be respected as well. I know everyone will not agree with the way I want to raise my children but her demeanor the entire appointment was insulting. I told the nurse at the end of the appointment that I didn’t want to come in every 2 weeks because my baby is doing amazing and I’m a minimalist when it comes to hospital/ doctor time. The nurse then responded with “well let me go get the doctor because they’ll be really mad at you if you don’t make your appointments.” I didn’t realize that my pregnancy was going to be so heavily controlled and completely out of my hands. The staff was staring at me the entire way out of the office (which would not bother me if I hadn’t heard the nurses talking about patients in a negative way amongst themselves before in the office). Not once did I get to speak with a doctor about an actual birth plan. We switched to york and are MUCH happier now. But wow. Definitely would not recommend harbor to anyone.
I wish I could give Harbour Women’s more than 5 stars! My incredible OBGYN is Dr. Scoones and when we became pregnant I thought seeing multiple doctors was going to be tough, however, it quickly became obvious that every member of the team is knowledgeable, truly cares and.always took the time to explain things and answer questions. The administrative staff, nurses, Ultrasound gurus and doctors are all the best. I couldn’t recommend a practice more!
I was never originally a patient at HWH, but my OB/GYN joined the practice back in 2017 or 2018 after having her own practice in Rye and before that my OB/GYN was at Womens Health Associates in Portsmouth. Dr. McLaughlin is AMAZING. I literally will cry when she retires. I have been seeing her since 2008 when I found out I was pregnant with my son. He is now 15.Dr. McLaughlin really takes the time to listen to you and offers insight as well as comfort when you are nervous or upset. Shes incredibly smart and has been an OB/GYN (although she opted out of OB back in 2010 I believe) for many many years. I trust her 100% and she has always taken EXCELLENT care of me. Shes super nice and also down to earth. Shes just an exceptional doctor and again I will cry when she fully retires.
I would post zero stars but it won’t allow me to. This office purposely left me suffering in pain and misery. I was told by the nurse that the dr would send me meds to pharmacy then contacted and told they would not until an outstanding balance was paid. I wouldn’t go to this office again if my life depended on it. I am calling for attorney consults. I can suffer serious health consequences from this not being treated shame on this office and the provider! I was originally told I would have refills and was only given one prescription in the beginning. I would not recommend any office that is money driven and refused to treat me because I owe money and now I don’t have insurance to even go anywhere else when the provider failed to deliver what was originally discussed and promised.
Started at this practice when I found out I was pregnant with my son. My second appointment there was with Dr.kuep, who threatened me with DCYF all because I had really bad morning sickness and I had used a very small amount of marijuana just so I could eat and go about my day. I brought this up with the manager of the practice, Ellen , who had promised me that Dr.Kuep would be removed from all my appointments. So when i went to my next appointment with the understanding that she Would not be the doctor I’d be seeing the remaining of my pregnancy, she walks right in the room. So I called Ellen , the manager, again asking her why Dr kuep was still in my appointments after she had told me it would not happen again and that I would be induced to ensure that Dr. Kuep did not deliver my son. So for the remainder of my pregnancy I saw Dr. Spellman, Dr.Amarosa ,and Dr.Fleming who are all great drs and actually listened to me when I had my concerns. When it came to being induced both Dr Amarosa and Dr Fleming were great. They made sure I was comfortable the whole time. When it came to finally delivering my son, everything changed. I was lied to about the doctor on call who happened to be Dr keup. As soon as she walked in the room both my husband and I had told her she was not welcome to deliver my son and to immediately leave which she refused to do so. So I called my HFA ( Healthy families America) told her the situation and she came to help deliver my son. Dr. Kuep proceeded to try and deliver my son after I told not to touch me. When my HFA nurse finally arrived at PRH , Dr kuep got mad and finally left. At the point it left me with my nurse and a PRH nurse to deliver my son and dr kuep wasn’t seen until afterwards when she tried to give me stitches after I told her NOT TO TOUCH ME. My birth plan was never considered or followed. The staff and pediatrician treated both my husband and I like we were an inconvenience and made us feel like we were the worst first time parents. They refused to help me with the phototherapy light when it came time to change and feed my son. PRH also called DCYF on both my husband and I. I recommend that no pregnant woman use this practice as they do not care about patients rights and their very unprofessional. Wentworth Douglas is the place to go as they actually care and listen to patients
First pregnancy, supposed to be happy and excited. But I’m already stressing out after they changed my appointment 4 times. I was talking to Jen this morning about changing appointment AGAIN and I told her that I never got called back from nurse. And she was like, I have to wait till next appt and nurse will call you and she just hung up my phone call. And I can’t even see a doctor because it’s not ‘how they usually do’. I have to wait until certain weeks. Even I’m bleeding and having such a bad migraine. Never able to talk to nurse. Never got called back. Great service.
I do not recommend this place at all..The doctors are super cold people, there is no kind of communication with them since they speak to you to a minimum, I am 36 weeks and I had to move out of state and today I had my appointment with my new doctor and he informed me about the presence of a bacterium that I have that needs to be treated on the day of delivery, they sent the records to my new provider with this information but they never informed me about this as soon as they mentioned it to me today and thats nothing last time I went they weighed me and told me I had a healthy weight and I check my records and it says that I am at risk because of my BMI.Luckily I moved and they are not in charge of my last weeks since they are irresponsible people and do not do their job as they should, very sad .
This practice was willing to risk my fertility for them to not have to do anything.I had a diagnosis that NEEDED to be treated. The doctors at this clinic decided it was better to not treat. They did not connect the symptoms and I ended up in the ER for ten hours with multiple Intravenous medications being pumped into me.I’m on over a month long course of antibiotics as well as anti emetics , it was this or be admitted with iv meds every 8 hours.I came here originally to see Wendy when she moved. NOT ONCE have I seen her.I am absolutely appalled by the borderline malpractice. I am under 25 years old and this clinic risked my fertility. This goes for all locations ; I will never step foot in one again. I will be having all records transferred over to the OBGYN the ER DOCTOR recommended to me since he no longer recommended HWH since they blatantly screwed me over.
I could not have been treated better .From the moment I entered the building .Dr Spellman is just wonderful. Empathetic, Concerned, and a good listener, she also has a sense of humor. Her calm demeanor and kindness allowed me to forget about everything till the day of the procedure.Well DoneThank you so muchJoanne
Delivered both my babies with Dr.Nelson and she was amazing! However most of the staff is rude. Dr.Keup is very rude! She allows her patients to suffer in pain. When I went through my first miscarriage she was so rude on the phone as if I was bothering her! Then because I stated on their Facebook how great Dr.Nelson was I was blocked for no reason at all! It’s sad this is the only practice that delivers at PRH. Dr.Keup left me in severe pain for over 10 hours I had to get patient advocate at the hospital involved before my pain was taken care of after a repeat c section
Dr. Nelson is one in a million. She is smart, compassionate and takes her time to answer questions. I am lucky to be her patient.
I had a wonderful experience throughout my first pregnancy with the whole team at Harbour Women’s from front desk to scheduling to nurses and of course the doctors. I found them to be kind, knowledgeable and down to earth. I felt completely comfortable talking about anything that concerned me or I wasn’t sure about and knowing I would get a straight forward answer. I also very much appreciated the convenience of the messaging feature on their patient portal so I could get quick answers to any small concerns that came up as an anxious mom-to-be. I truly felt CARED from the very beginning as a person, not just a patient (and that’s not always the case in many doctor offices). So grateful to have found Harbour Women’s Health and look forward to seeing them again if we have another baby!
Its too bad when some people write negative reviews for the wrong business. The billing department at Harbour Womens Health is extremely helpful and understanding. Even though they are not responsible for bills from the hospital or labs they always try to assist with questions on these bills to make sure its nothing their office has submitted incorrectly. I dont know of many doctors offices that have people that pick up right away when you call, but they always call back the same day, or you can request to hold and somone will pick up. Its also nice to know that you are talking to somone local when you do call their office.
I’ve been Dr. Nelson’s patient for many years and respect her as one of the finest doctors on the Seacoast. Not only is she clinically astute, but her communication skills are also excellent, as is her bedside manner: she’s warm, down-to-earth, compassionate, and tactful. I’ve always been able to depend on her to be responsive to my concerns and to sort through potentially high stakes medical problems. She clearly views her patients as individuals and goes the extra mile to create individualized treatment plans. Our community is very lucky to have her. Additionally, all the staff at Harbour Women’s Health --from the front desk right on through --are warm, professional, and competent.
So far the care I have got here has been really bad. They are extremely negative each appointment I go to. I just want to warn people on here that if you are an expecting mother the doctors here use a lot of fear mongering which can cause a lot of stress on a pregnant woman. If you can avoid getting prenatal care here please do. They also do not answer the phone and send you to various voicemails if you have any concerns or questions. If this is your only option due to insurance hang in there! The doctors here have sort of taken a bullying angle with me and I wouldnt wish that on my worst enemy. Everyone deserves good prenatal care because pregnancy is such a rollercoaster of emotions. In my appointment today Dr.Spellman just told me of all the ways my unborn child could be harmed by me not taking prescription meds during pregnancy and offered no other resources/ interventions. My fiancee and I were both shocked at how she treated us. She belittled me and make fun of me rather than trying to help in any way.
I am so thankful for each and every part of the HWH team. Special shoutout to Dr. Spellman and Dr. Amarosa who brought our little miracle into the world! 💕 When choosing people to be a part of some of biggest/happiest/scariest/saddest moments of your life- its crucial to choose and be in the hands best. Thats what HWH is. The best. I cant actually put into words what they have meant to our family.
Every single provider at Harbour Womens is exceptional. Love that it is all women and they are privately owned, so they can really give you personalized care. I have worked with each of the doctors and all of them are top notch. Attentive, thorough, and really listen to their patients to learn the best approach. HIGHLY recommend!!
Best group of doctors I have ever met. Caring, compassionate and can clearly tell that they love what they do because they do it so effortlessly and are so knowledgeable in their field. Absolutely loved the care they provide and their delivery method. I am forever grateful to these amazing group of women.
Truly don’t understand the negative reviews, I’ve delivered a baby with harbour women’s health and am currently pregnant. They took care of me in between too. They actually found an issue that my primary care/ portsmouth hospital misdiagnosed and helped me get it resolved even though it wasn’t related to reproductive health. The doctors remember me by name years later, I really love this place! The way they rotate doctors throughout your pregnancy appointments is amazing, so whoever delivers your baby- you know them. And the rooms are dimly lit and casual, which I really appreciate. They’re really good about ultrasounds (which are in the same building-so convenient) and they eat the cost of the first one, since it’s often not covered by insurance, because they believe it’s important for women. I’ve also been very impressed during Covid at how organized and efficient their covid processes are. At other offices like our dentist, I’ve just been shocked at how disorganized and frustrating all of the covid rules and organization are. Honestly, I always highly recommend harbour women’s!!
I really would not recommend this practice to anyone, especially an expecting mother. I left this practice years ago for poor care just as routine gyno and when I got pregnant was really hesitant about returning because of this but really wanted to give birth at Portsmouth hospital for the convenience sake. These doctors couldnt care less about you and will spend as little time as possible with you. My care was not thorough, personal or attentive. Front desk staff are rude.Ive switched mid pregnancy to a practice that is further away from me by almost twice the distance and honestly its worth the ride and I wish I switched in the beginning or never bothered with this practice the second time to begin with. When questioning anything, they get extremely rude and defensive and couldnt care less about addressing your concerns or providing evidence based care. They just want to bill out as much as possible to insurance and dont care if they put you or your baby at risk in the mean time. Definitely not supportive of natural birth, these are doctors who love interventions and would sooner force you into a C-section and even the manner of most of them during the appointments shows you how little regard and respect they have for a womans autonomy over her own body and prenatal care.So beyond grateful to be away from this practice. If youre thinking about switching, I cant recommend finding another provider enough. RUN.
Doctor Nelson has been nothing short of phenomenal! Going through challenges during our TTC journey, she is available for us to hear any concerns and assuage any fears. When we went through our early miscarriage, she met us same day for an ultrasound to see what was going on. After, she met with us and helped ease all of our fears and explain in detail testing and lab options. She replies to all our questions with care and attention, and always helps answer my silly/small/I read this on Google questions. Shes phenomenal. My husband and I couldnt be happier with HWH!
HWH is an amazing women-owned practice! I have had the pleasure of being a patient of Dr. Scoones for several years and could go on and on about her amazing care. I have seen a few of the other providers at HWH as well and they have all been wonderful! We are lucky to have these providers here on the Seacoast. Thanks for all you do!
I had my now 4 month old son, and HWH took great care of us both before and after i delivered. I had a really rough delivery and some PPD symptoms. Dr Spellman has been AMAZING at making me feel heard, connecting me with resources, and giving me the care I need.
I cant say enough wonderful things about Harbour Womens Health.I went about 5 years ago with dyspareunia. I had been dealing with it for 4 years at that point and had seen 3 doctors about it who all didnt know what was causing it and said either it was in my head or that I should take some motrin. One did believe me and did an exploratory Lap to see if I had endometriosis, but when that came back clear didnt know how to help after that.I found Dr Scoones, through my insurance and trying to find someone with a different approach to medicine. In my first appointment she found the source of the problem and gave me multiple courses of action. She finally gave me hope that I wouldnt have to live with this anymore! She was extremely nice and professional and supportive. She listened to my complaint, she believed me and explained what was happening in a way that I could understand. She recommended pelvic floor physical therapy and helped me find a place near where I lived (since I was driving an hour to see her). When I came back after a year to explain that I was still having symptoms and my PT wasnt working as well as I had hoped, she recommende me to Dr Sastry for trigger point injections.I went to Dr. Sastry who is AMAZING. She is so kind and professional. I had explained to her I had been going to PT for a year and no improvement. She said that I would definitely benefit from the trigger point injections but said that she wanted me to go to Oceanside physical therapy first. I was not thrilled to go to a new physical therapist because I had just paid for 5 more sessions at my current one but was she right on the money!!! The recommendation was absolutely worth it. I ended up still needing the trigger point injections but my pain has decreased significantly and I was able to reschedule and push off the injections until I really needed them. Now to the trigger point injections which was easily rescheduled. Dr Sastry was again very nice, professional, kind, patient and everything I wanted as a provider. I was extremely nervous about the injections and her calm kindness absolutely eased my mind. She explained everything prior and explained each step before taking it during the injections.10/10 would recommend Harbour Womens Health especially Dr Scoones and Dr Sastry. I have a OBGYN in Littleton, NH that I see for all my womens needs who at some point will retire and I know that when Im ready to have children it will be Harbour Womens Health that I will go see. Without a doubt. I drive an hour to see them from Manchester, and I find it to be very worth the time and effort for their professionalism and caring environment that they work hard at providing.
I was denied medical care over an outstanding medical bill from my previous pregnancy that was treated here.I called them after my positive pregnancy test to set up an appointment. They said i had to get on a payment plan and make my first payment in order to be scheduled, because i had an outstanding bill. i said okay and did it & made my payment right then. then i get a call back 2 weeks later- TWO WEEKS LATER- saying SORRY we cant see you after all, even though youre on a payment plan, you need to pay in full to be seen.therefore- i ended up believing i was pregnant for 2 months before i was able to find a different doctors office that would take me on as a patient, do all the intake at the new office, THEN get an ultrasound scheduled. It was A LOT of time wasted all because they changed their mind and decided not to treat me.i finally found out i miscarried, when i should have been around 15 weeks pregnant. No, harbor womens health could NOT have prevented my miscarriage. This isnt their fault, obviously. However, if they had given me medical care, I would have been able to at least find out the pregnancy wasnt viable SOONER. Instead of going 2 months thinking i was pregnant, not knowing the baby wasnt growing, running around trying to get medical care. Just sucks.no one should ever be denied medical care over finances, especially such a silly amount as 300$ when they already had received SO much from my insurance company. they should have at least helped me until i could get in with a different doctor.so much time wasted, all to find out i miscarried anyways. for any other ladies going through miscarriage, youre not alone.and no i will not be calling their manager - its pointless - and i wont pay them a dime.
Unfortunately my prenatal care has been short of exceptional. They make you rotate 5 different doctors throughout your pregnancy, which is understandable seeing not everyone can be on delivery duty 24/7. However I consistently have issues with 2 doctors in particular.Dr. Keup always has a negative attitude. Any time I have questions or concerns, it is quickly brushed off with “it’s normal” and a why-are-you-asking-such-a-dumb-question tone. She never offers any sort of insight as to what could be causing the issue or what could be done to make it better. I have an acquaintance who is due a couple weeks before me who has issues with Dr. Keup as well. There was at least 10 different people commenting on how they are unsatisfied with her care at HWH.I recently had an issue with Dr. Flemming as well. She was very pushy about choosing a birth control method right in the moment she asked during my appointment. She called me a “fertile myrtle” due to my age. Seeing so many doctors in such a short period of time, she wasn’t aware of my almost 10 year history with PCOS and struggling for almost a year to get pregnant. I was quite offended by her statements she kept making saying I shouldn’t rely on “that” to not get pregnant again. When I was fed up with trying to explain my point, I reiterated that I was still weighing my options for which method I wanted to use. She stated “well as long as you’re okay with getting pregnant again in a short period of time.” And the conversation was left at that. I never even expressed to her that I was concerned about getting pregnant in the future so I’m not even sure why she was so pushy with the concept. I am a person who is against taking medications unless absolutely needed and I don’t like to feel as though they are being pushed off on me or being made to feel incompetent about making my own decisions. However, I must give a shout out to Dr. Kingston, Dr. Scoones & Dr. Nelson who are amazing and always go above and beyond to make me feel secure and answer any questions or concerns of mine with care & compassion.
The providers and other patient care staff are so kind and helpful. I really wish the front desk was nicer. They are condescending and short with people. Please remind office staff to be kind, warm and patient. Have had a few negative experiences with them. :[
I had my first appt today with Dr. Trevino and she was beyond wonderful! I was referred to this facility by a few of my peers and can see why. I felt so comforted and so cared for throughout my first appt! I would highly recommend this facility and Dr. Trevino to others as well! I will definitely continue my services here!
I absolutely loved my experience at Harbour Womans Health. I moved here mid first trimester (hadnt been seen for almost 2 months) and they tried their best to get me in as soon as possible even though my insurance hadnt gone through yet (military family). All of the doctors got to know me week after week and I felt really comfortable with each and every one. I had a low risk pregnancy so my visits were short and sweet to make sure the baby was growing and we were both healthy. When it came time to head to the hospital:My baby started to make his appearance 10 days early, Dr. Scoones was great when we had talked on the phone and decided I should make my way in. When i got there I was checked and admitted. The doctors had switched and Dr. Keup had delivered my baby. I was 8cm and the doctor and nurses noticed my babys heart rate dropping, Dr. Keup did an ultrasound and noticed a few issues. The team on the L&D floor are fast and attentive, when the babys heart rate dropped there was a full team (and more) at my room in an instant (this happened twice). I had an emergency c-section and it was better than I expected. Dr. Keup kept me and my baby safe by doing the best possible option since I was only 8cm.I am so pleased with the doctors and Portsmouth Hospital.
HEIDI KEUP has ZERO concern for her patients. She spent 5 minutes with me for an issue and sent me on my way with zero information. She also did not address all the concerns I put on my intake form. When the issue persisted, I called less than a week later for help and she refused and suggested I go to an urgent care. If you are not pregnant, they do not care, and it seems like even if you are pregnant you may get similar treatment.I also noticed they do not respond to dissatisfied patients anymore.. There must be too many.
Not impressed with the way they handle appointments. First initial appointment I had to wait three months just to get in, second appointment rescheduled for a month out.Had a procedure done and they made my follow up 8 weeks later (when it was only supposed to be 3 weeks) had an appointment for today, they called today to reschedule my appointment and they wanted to reschedule for a month out. I informed them that ,all this rescheduling is making me feel that my issues werent important enough for them to deal with and that I would find someone who is better fit for my needs.
You should use literally any other womens health service if one is available to you. Our experience with this horribly-run excuse for a business is having an appointment to have an IUD replaced delayed - TWICE - simply because the dates became inconvenient to the doctor. Then our third appointment, FIVE MONTHS after the IUD should have been removed for safety/health purposes was cancelled after we drove an hour to get there because my wife had a fever of one degree higher than normal for a few hours this weekend, and they had the gall to try and make us wait another MONTH.To top it all off, nowhere in any of the confirmation texts, e-mails or phone calls did anyone from Harbour mention anything about needing to have been tested prior to coming in. They told us on the phone that everyone is told this, but thats a flat-out lie.
Kingston did good in giving care and seemed to really love her job. Some people were a little pushy with certain things, in which I wanted to discuss with my husband before saying yes, such as $300 testings, snd also not being allowed to have him to help remember all the information, cost, etc. it’s a very overwhelming experience, especially alone. The main reason for two stars is because when you call In a lady always transfers you. Sometimes you get a person, most of the time you have to leave a message….and they do not call you back. I moved 1000 miles and of course had to transfer doctors. I filled out the transfer forms, talked to front desk in person at 3 appointments, and asked for a paper copy of my records. I was told “next time we will have them for you,” twice. At my final appointment they asked me to pick them up the following week. I would not, because I would be moved away by then, but am told “we will get your records sent out today.” The lady was kind, wished me well, and apologized. I get to my new dr and NO RECORDS. I call and leave messages for “records.” The individual was extremely rude and impatient with me. I’ve give you a 4 week notice and been given answers in circles, and she tries to fault me on this. Just crazy and stressful. I understand understaffing and busy doctors, but why do I have to wait weeks and be given such a hard time. She even says come in next week to get them….again…so crazy! I live 1000 miles away from there, I cannot just pop in and then not receive them a third time. With this scene, I’m thankful to be away from this office. Deserves zero stars but because Kingston was nice, I will be nice.
Absolutely horrible experience. I went in to have the IUD removed. Dr. Fleming said she could not find it. She proposed that I would need an ultrasound to locate where it was. As if that wasn’t painful enough, I then sat waiting for 15 minutes to make an appointment. I would have to wait for almost three weeks to obtain an ultrasound through them. At this point, I was concerned about my IUD and took a chance and called York Ob. I was seen within two days and no ultrasound. The found and removed the IUD in under five minutes. This was a huge relief. What makes me soo angry is that Harbour Women’s Health billed my insurance for a removal that never took place. $260 to not find something. Ridiculous! I actually think it was purposeful so they could bill for an unnecessary ultrasound.
You wont find more caring, supportive, and attentive doctors and staff than at Harbour Womens Health. Today, the Harbour staff called a prescription in for me at my local pharmacy. When I arrived at the pharmacy to pick it up, I discovered that the pharmacy computers and servers were completely down. The pharmacy couldnt fill my prescription due to the outage. I called Harbour Womens Health and - even though it was *significantly* after business hours - the on-call doctor happily filled my prescription at an alternative location. She was kind, understanding, and made sure I got my medication when the pharmacy failed. This is how health care should be! Everyone here goes above and beyond to help you be well.
Hands down the best office! The recent updates to the office have improved the overall look and welcoming feeling to the office. The Providers are all very attentive and listen to all concerns and questions and give there feedback on it all.Even through covid things have been as calm and inviting as before. So thankful for all the providers here!
We are not Happy with the service we received from Harbor Womens Health. My Wife had a severe back pain during pregnency and no one tried to check the area where she was having pain. Eventually i need to consult a different doctor who helped us and it was found that there was a Rectal Absess. My wife was urging from few weeks that she is having a severe problem in back by everyone was so casual and stating that it may be due to pregnency. Thanks to God that i consulted different doctor otherwise it would be a risk to babys and wifes life. I am not at all happy with the casual approach of some doctors.Being a Doctor atleast the patient should be checked. We booked an urgent appointment for Wife and came to HWH but doctor, without checking directly told us that we are obstetrician and we recommend you to check with PCP. why didnt they told us 2 weeks before??. My wife was not able to walk, sleep, move or even go to washroom for 2 weeks and severely crying out in pain. And after the delivery of baby same doctor comes and says that I am sorry and i missed to check that.. I mean what is this? are you playing with Patients / babys life?.
Harbour Womens Health is hands down the BEST practice on the Seacoast. I would recommend them to any woman seeking quality care. The physicians are caring, they listen, and they make sure your experience is personalized.
I was referred to HWH as I am new to the area. I was greeted, cared for, and heard by Carolyn Bibb,PA and Dr Trevino in a professional, compassionate manner. I will refer
Harbour Womens Health is awesome and I’d recommend coming here to everyone! Michelle is so sweet in the front office and extremely helpful with scheduling. All the staff is very friendly and make my visits a positive experience.
This practice defrauded a friend. She is an exceptionally healthy 29 year old female. She went in for an annual physical and was then billed out of pocket $586 for blood work tests. They told her this was coded incorrectly and that there was nothing they could do. If they had said these bogus blood work tests would be out of pocket she would never have consented. Deceptive practice ripping off their patients. After trying for months to fix the error she has finally given in. I am sure they do this all the time. DO NOT GO!
The worst hospital Ive ever been to. 👎🏼Very bad organization. I received a few payment slips and I called to ask what they were for and to send me the results for analysis. Whenever someone answers, they transfer me to another line and then tell me to leave a message that they are busy and that they will call me later, but they never call me. For a month I keep trying and I havent received any answer from them. it always transfers me to another line that no one answers and I have to leave a voicemail that has no result. they only called me back once, but I left them a message many times and asked them to contact me…

Dr Sastry is an excellent Dr. After being wrongfully dx with IC. She correctly dx with sensitive bladder. Highly recommended!
I had two wonderful deliveries with HWH. I recommend this practice to anyone in the seacoast needing prenatal care ! The providers are very knowledgeable & caring.
I went there for prenatal and it was the best decision I ever made. They took care of me. The staff is nice and the doctors are all amazing. Thanks Harbour Womens Health!
Dear Reader, if you are wondering where to go for expert care, look no further than Dr Deeptha Sastry and her excellent team of professionals! They work closely with Oceanside Physical Therapy. It’s a win win!
Doctors are good, but overpriced for self-pay. I’ve never paid this much for just a birth control consult.
Excellent staff and doctors. Efficient but take the time to listen to you. Dr. Amarosa is awesome, extremely thorough and kind.
I would not recommend this practice to women. Now that I am at a different healthcare practice, it is clear how terrible my time was with HWH.
Love all the staff! Kind, patient and they really care and spend the time with you that you need for questions. Had a great experience.
They try to scam you out of more money!!! That’s all they care about. Please go anywhere else but here, harbor women’s health is HORRIBLE.
Dr. Spellman is excellent! Highly recommended.
Front desk staff are not very polite.
Amazing staff!
