I had a really great experience here! Nurse Donner and the two others assisting me were very professional. I felt really comfortable with them and felt like I was heard. Thank you very much for providing excellent service to me this morning. I went in anxious but left in better spirits.
I had the best experience at this location! I had an IUD inserted and my wonderful health care professionals were all so wonderful. She was able to make the process very painless considering the procedure, and everyone was so nice and helpful without wasting time! I’m going to go out of my way in the future to go to this location. 10/10 recommend!
Ive gone to this PPAU location for 4+ years for all my general needs. It is always easy to make an appointment and the staff is incredibly knowledgeable. However, today I went and there was no AC. There were fans throughout the building to try and keep spaces cool. The staff was so kind and profusely apologized, but I cant imagine working in that heat. I was sweating throughout my visit, so I am sure staff must be struggling as well. I heard the AC had been out for three weeks? Incredible staff deserves quick repairs!
The staff here are incredible and always go above and beyond to answer my questions and make me feel comfortable and safe during my appointments. But there has been no AC since August–the hottest month weve experienced in SLC. This is so unfair to the incredible staff! I cant imagine working in that kind of heat. There was a staff member assembling fans throughout the building to try and keep us cool. You can tell that Upper Management is not setting them up for success. Please fix the AC for the staff!
I have gone here three times, each time scheduling an appointment. Every time, I have had to wait, at the least, 30 minutes. The staff is pretty nice, but why do they allow appointments if they are not going to honor the appointment times?
If I could give them zero stars I would. Some woman went rouge told me a bunch of information that wasn’t true and told me she could give me the informed consent when she wasn’t authorized to do so. Throwing off my whole time line and putting me even being able to terminate my pregnancy in jeopardy. I called out of work for it bought plane tickets and couldn’t even do it. So not only am I out a bunch of money but I now will have to work while having just had an abortion. I recommend going somewhere else!
The staff was nice but it took 2 hours to get through my appointment - the wait times are ridiculous and there isn’t even phone reception or WiFi available.
Took my money and never gave me what I paid for.For a year now I’ve been having troubles with mail in birth control and no one has been able to help me. It’s hard to get the right clinic number and to get through at the clinic. The call center and email helpline isn’t any help in pulling up details about mail in birth control. I was also once told by a call center worker that planned parenthood doesn’t offer birth control by mail and I had to go back and forth about how that’s been my preferred method since starting the pill two years ago. Initially, the problem was not being able to pay for / start the shipment. But now I’ve paid for a few months worth of birth control at the clinic and a I’ve still not gotten my shipment a month later. I’m in the waitlist for being called back by the clinic.UPDATE: I paid $48 on February 2nd. I finally got a call back last week and they said “oh it looks like it’s packed it just needs to be shipped out tomorrow.” Idk why if I paid for shipping a month ago it’s only just being sent now that I’ve reached someone. I still haven’t received it though. I have to go into the clinic and pay again so that I don’t miss a pill while trying to get this figured out. Honestly though, it’s too complicated getting through to anyone, and I’m already overwhelmed from other life things that I’m thinking I may have to just accept that I lost $48. Don’t go to PPAU for mail in birth control.Update again: after getting them to send the package, it’s stuck in transit at the post office after they put down my address incorrectly.
Overheard the staff making jokes about patients, absolutely disgusting. I support planned parenthood but the staff here are unprofessional
I cant believe Im saying this but the automated system was flawless. Great job!
Ive never heard of a pp that doesnt offer an ultrasound ? It seems so odd that they dont/cant perform ultrasounds considering they offer services to people that are expecting.Response to the reply that I received:I explained that I thought I was miscarrying to the person that I spoke with. She didnt let me know that other pp clinics offered ultrasounds. She just said we dont do them. She also gave me the # to a clinic that also doesnt offer ultrasounds to miscarrying women. So odd.
I was treated so well at this location. I was shown respect, comfort, and kindness. I was nervous coming into my procedure but I quickly felt safe and sound. Awesome experience! :)
I’ve gone to this planned parenthood location multiple times with no problems but on my last visit they shoved me in the waiting room for an hour despite having an appointment then when they finally took me back they had me pee in a cup (I don’t believe they ever actually did the pregnancy test) then had me wait for another hour before I finally just walked out. I have since received two bills from them one for the pregnancy test and one for the birth control they never gave me. Billing has not answered my calls and customer service seems to keep “missing my calls”. Never come here.
I went in today thinking I had an appointment for an implant. My email CONFIRMED I had an appointment for 2:45. I signed in and waited patiently like everyone else. 3:30 rolls around Im seeing that people that were there after me were being seen. I ask the lady at the counter how long the wait would be. She said she has me in for 4:45. I show her my confirmation email and she barely even acknowledges it and says I have to reschedule or wait. I have work at 4. No sorry for the inconvenience. Silence. What a waste of time and energy. I understand that its a tough time right now for women everywhere but the least staff can do was acknowledge the mistake.
I had a traumatic experience. I went there last month , and the provider changed my birth control. One of the side effects is trombosis. Last Friday, I woke up with large hematoms all over my legs. Everything purple. I went there Saturday morning to see my provider and ask the provider to stop taking it. They did not let me have a consultation telling that there was not an emergency center. They told me that someone would call, nobody called me, and a consultation was never scheduled. I had to stop taking it by myself, and now I have fever, my legs are terrible and aching, and I started bleeding again, and nobody there to support me. I dont blame them for my legs, I understand that all medication has side effects, and I dont blame the no emergency policy. But the message I got is that my life, my healthy does not matter. I would not take more than 5 minutes to see me, give me call or schedule an appointment as soon as possible, but nothing was done. They dont care about womens lives as they claim. I hope I get better and Ill never be there again.
While I fully support Planned Parenthood for the low-cost services that they provide to men and women, I wouldn’t recommend this location if you’re experience menstrual problems like endometriosis or PCOS. My annual exam and pap smear went fine, but the doctor was very dismissive about my concerns despite being in severe pain during my cycles. I waited about 40 minutes even though I had an appointment so they could definitely use some staffing help.
Very disappointing I called for a Pap smear. The young lady said I had to set up an appointment and I said all right and she put me on hold and never came back on. Tried to call back. got a messaging saying that their stuff is busy and that to call back later. I believe that was rude. She put me on hold and never came back online to schedule my appointment.
The attitude of front desk staff seems to totally contradict planned parenthood’s advertising and public campaigns that project an image of caring and nonjudgmental treatment. I called them today, and after saying “thank you very much” the person on the other side of the phone hung up with no response. It reminded me that the last time I went to this location, I felt a lot of shame in the waiting room, largely due to the way I was treated by staff. It’s a shame because folks who are low income or don’t have insurance rely on places like this to receive really important care.
I fully support Planned Parenthood and am grateful it continues to be a resource for anyone in need. I understand staff at PP have to accommodate waves of patients and may have their attention and energy stretched to limits. This review is critical of a specific staff member at this location that did not, I feel, give her patient sufficient attention and thus the procedure was unsuccessful. I was then made to feel rushed, confused, and unable to ask questions as I left the office. After the complicated outcome, the provider promised to call the following day with advice from the MD on how to proceed. She did not call. And so, though I am appreciative of the services available, I did not and do not feel comfortable with how I was treated at this location. To the clinic: please remember patients come to you feeling vulnerable. Slow down when possible and talk to us. Most importantly, you must follow up if you say you plan to.
I had the BEST experience with the Dr. She was professional Cordial and down to earth she made me feel like a friend when i was Anxious and overwhelmed. Thank you for making me feel like a friend when you were taking my implant out. I appreciate your time and your patience and being a real person
I went for an IUD, first appointment I had they weren’t able to and everyone was so kind and helpful. Second time I went two weeks later a complete 180. I was humiliated in the lobby in regards to bringing my partner with me (despite the first visit them telling me I absolutely could. Called twice to verify because of Covid restrictions), the Dr. was cold and rude during the IUD procedure despite having told her repeatedly of SA history. I left feeling violated and embarrassed. They took my insurance first visit and then second visit it wasn’t accepted (two weeks later).
I wish they could do a bit more on the spot or same day care. I was super embarrassed about a problem I was experiencing, and my OB couldn’t see me as soon as I was wanting. They wanted me to come back and schedule an appointment, which happened to be booked months out. I was able to find another OB at another gynecology clinic who could get me in sooner, but that OB left me feeling even more demoralized.
I had a fantastic experience here! I wanted the Nexplanon, but had to pay out of pocket, and this specific planned parenthood office had the best price. They were quick, efficient, and Kris, the NP who placed the implant, did SUCH a good job! I am very needle shy but she was so helpful and kind to me during the entire process. I highly recommend this location!
I’m sorry to leave this review because the staff was very nice. I’ve had my first physical here and the Pap smear portion has left me traumatized. I keep repeating it in my head and each time I feel to cry. I didn’t want to complain while there and I agreed to finish because it was my first time and I didn’t know if that level of pain was to be expected or not. I was told that it’s normal to experience discomfort But I was actually screaming and crying during the exam due to the level of pain and still crying afterward. When I left I had pain while walking and sitting for the rest of the day. I had to use a heat pouch in that area in order to fall asleep. And it’s approaching day 2 and I still feel pain. I don’t know if this painful experience has simply been me only, but I’m writing this honestly because if someone were to ask me to recommend this location based on my experience, this would be my unfortunate answer.
Treatment and service is great once your in the building. Don’t even bother calling because they will not pick up at all. If you ever want to go here just go in person to make an appointment
This clinic is awesome. The staff are all very kind and knowledgeable. They are very busy and while I didnt have to wait very much for my appointment, I did have to wait a while to pay. I use quotes because it was free! Not having to shell out hundreds of dollars to ensure my health gives me amazing peace of mind and Im very grateful. Some advice: you can make an appointment by calling, and they are usually booked a week out. Dont try to make an appointment online, theyll just tell you to do a walk in, which will probably be a longer wait time. The people are nice, so dont be afraid to ask all the questions and be honest about your concerns, they are there to help!
I had an appointment at 3:45 and ended up getting attended 2 hours later and stayed there in total 3 hours!!!! Worst service out of all planned parenthood locations
Please fix your automatic call bot, its literally impossible to get through to a person. The long message at the beginning offers no options, and when a number is selected, it says press 0 to speak to someone, but pressing 0 results in your selection is invalid. This is unacceptable for a place that offers necessary care.
The doctors were really great. The office girls were pretty nice❤ They did have a longer wait time, but they were still really good especially since I had no insurance. I had a good visit it was clean and the doctor helping me was extremely knowledged and sweet. ☺
Just needed to get my Depo shot, but I had recently moved to Salt Lake City and had nowhere to get it. Made an appointment here easily, turns out the shot is a lot less expensive at Planned Parenthood! They got me a prescription and now I just show up the day I need my next shot and get it without an appointment. Its very convenient and the staff has been helpful.
Went here when I first got back to the US for a check up & birth control. They were very informative to give me info on doctors and insurance in the area that I could get set up with. Since I had just returned there was no charge for the visit and they dont charge for birth control. The employees were very friendly and the facility was very clean. I would have gone back but now I have insurance and see a doctor in my area. Very good experience. I recommend this.
I love that they dont answer phone calls here. Ive called at least 10 times in the last few days and was on hold for at least 20 minutes each time before giving up.
This place has been very patien and gives a perfect warning of what to do when you are there. The staff are very generous and polite to their custimer. I didnt have to wait too long when i have an appointment and the location is in a safe area. Even to the point that i used to walk there from the old appartment.
This place is a joke. They charge an exorbitant amount for a procedure and say “most insurance is covered”. I withdraw any support I have for this organization. They are charge more than a doctors office because I carry insurance. If I didn’t have insurance I’m sure it would’ve been free because of public funding. I am a public employee with insurance WHAT A JOKE. They take advantage of the public and do procedures without the consent of the policy holder. It baffles me that a doctor at a planned parenthood charges the same rates as she would at her own office. The office doesn’t tell customers they are out of network and still say most insurance is covered!!! Joke of an institution, I hope you lose all funding.
Went in to get tested told them what I had and what they needed to test for, they completely ignored me and only did the standard Chlamydia and gonorrhea testing so of course I came up negative and still stuck with the original std that I told them I had and needed medication for so, unfortunately, I will no longer be using Planned Parenthood even though Ive used them for the last fourteen years
Doesn’t seem like black men are allowed here.. staff is rude, i never get a call back, and my online appointment requests are never accepted.. what is going on..
They keep scheduling appt for me with providers that are not covered under my insurance. Complete waste of time just go to a real doctor if you have insurance
I have been to this location for both STI testing and to get an IUD. I have always had positive experiences. The staff is friendly and knowledgable. Even as someone who has health insurance, it was easier and less expensive to receive services at planned parenthood. After I had my IUD placed, I was lightheaded and dizzy for some time. The staff continued to ask how I was doing, brought me water, and even offered me an apple fritter that they had brought for their own breakfast.I cant say enough positive things. I cant recommend them more highy. Go. You will not be disappointed.
I really appreciate PPs services but I dont think theyre the best place to go for all reproductive treatments. I had a paraguard placed here which implanted a few months later. I felt like my doctor was rushed and probably didnt have enough time to place it carefully. It often seems like the doctors and nurses are too short on time to have a meaningful visit. I went to the Avenues Womens Health Center and had the paraguard removed and new one put in for free. PP is my go to for tests, pills, and questions, but I might look into other medical facilities for more invasive procedures.
I got my IUD from here, and everyone was super nice. Of course the IUD was a little bit painful, but the doctor was so sweet and made sure I was ok even after I threw up. Im so grateful for this location.
Ive been going to this location for years and Ive never had any problems but my last visit was not very pleasant. The nurse was great but the front desk and other members of the staff were not friendly and seemed very unprofessional. They made me feel uncomfortable and i dont think Ill be returning to this location for any exams
The nurse seemed to not really know what she was doing as much as the one the last time I had to go but at....I guess its called the Metro Clinic? There was some confusion at checking me out after my appointment which was a bit embarrassing. I wasnt really informed. *Update 8/17/2017: Ive been going fairly regularly now and have had better experiences.
I waited over 2 hours to be seen for what i thought was a simple shot... Once i got the shot it was the most painful shot i have ever had in my life!!! Even my husband said he had never seen anyone give a shot worse than that! I could not move my arm for 2 days, that night i had to ice my arm for over an hour! I was in so much pain i was in tears! If you are looking to get on birth control i would highly recomend going ANYWHERE else, especially if you want to get the shots!
Have always had good experiences here but I’ve now called twice where they put me on hold but really didn’t and I could hear them talking to in office patients
This clinic is so nice and inviting all of the staff is so wonderful and very professional! I would definitely recommend to this clinic to anyone.
There is a rule where if you are showing any symptoms of an STD or STI you need to schedule an appointment. This Saturday the next available time was 1:30. I came into this planned parenthood at 10:00 a.m. I couldnt do the 1:30 time because I had something this afternoon. They said I could go to the IHC instacare at north salt lake but there may be a wait. I just wanted a few simple STD tests that planned parenthood could have done in an hour or less. The instacare I went to had me there until 1:15 and I missed my plans anyway. I know youve got reasons for the rules and the point is to get treatment but the physician who saw me at the instacare just recommended some over the counter B.S. anyway until the test results come in. The instacare they sent me to was not remotely prepared to do STD testing NOR were the physicians properly educated on it at all. If someone wants to just get some STD tests and the symptoms arent really treatable anyway just let people get the tests at planned parenthood where youre actually prepared to do testing efficiently, then worry about scheduling the treatment at a later time because it was a huge waste of my time to go there when the treatment was just an over the counter suggestion anyway and took 3x as long to reach such an unproductive conclusion. In summary:1. DO NOT RECOMMEND THE INSTACARE FOR STD TESTING/TREATMENT SINCE THE PEOPLE AT THAT INSTACARE HAVE ALMOST NO CLUE WHAT THEY ARE DOING ANYWAY2. JUST LET PEOPLE GET TESTED EVEN IF TREATMENT IS NOT IMMEDIATELY AVAILABLE AND NEEDS TO BE SCHEDULED AT ANOTHER TIME. YOUR FACILITY IS MOST PRACTICAL TO DO THESE TESTS THAN ANY OTHER FACILITY.I know this planned parenthood location has a bad rep for wasting peoples time. Now I know why. Never coming here again. Yes this location is open on days that other planned parenthood are not, but its such a waste of time that it might as well be closed anyway. Youre better off just waiting to go to another location even if the time is inconvenient
Oooh girl! This clinic is poppin! So friendly, and my favorite part, they are super fast! This is definitely my go to PP! Recommend to anyone who doesnt want to wait three hours.
Planned parenthood is an amazing organization. Ive been going there since I was 17, and had questions. My first time I was nervous, but after that I felt comfortable and un-judged.
I had a great experience today. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Made me very comfortable, seemed to actually care. I was suprised and impressed by my experience. I hope this resource doesnt get pushed away
Call, I have two days trying to communicate to make an appointment and it has been impossible for them to answer one, I can take 1 hour waiting,
The staff here is amazing and so friendly. I was nervous because it was my first time here, but they were so kind and did a great job. An amazing organization with great employees!
Thank goodness there is a place where anyone, regardless of financial status or ability to carry insurance, can have a healthy pregnancy...or be educated on how to effectively Plan to be a Parent when they are ready! Thank you Planned Parenthood for all you do for families!!
I was on the phone & at the end of the call I said “awesome thank you.” And she just hung up without saying anything… hahaha not very good customer service.
I was in and out in less than an hour with all of my stupid blunt questions answered correctly! They work well with people without insurance and low income. Amazing! “Life savers”
No std walk in testing if you admit to showing symptoms? I guess i coulda just lied and said i didnt show any just to get tested. Bad policy
I gave you guys a three because I sat in the waiting room for at least 2 hours but then I got in and everything was good but I didnt like the guy in the room at all he was a creep
They got me the help I needed when another clinic turned me away. Thank you
Hands down the best annual exam experience I have had in a very long time. I felt understood and listened to.
Please fix that curb coming right out the door. I rolled my ankle pretty bad the other day (still hurts) it’s a super random curb and I couldn’t see it with my mask on
Good luck trying to get ahold of anyone on the phone. It’s a joke. I waited 25+ minutes and called several times to get ahold of someone
Ive always had an efficient and pleasant experience here. Wonderful staff. Very helpful and courteous. :)
Carolina at the front desk is rude and cold. Staff is Unfriendly.
They are effective and good at testing but the results take a long time to get back
They were really understanding of my financial issues and answered every question i had, i can’t appreciate them enough
Ive been coming here for years and years. Wait times are a total joke. And have only gotego worse.
Best healthcare, such a vital resource for the entire community. Love all yall do.
They wont answer the phone if your life depended on it
The staff is so rude and inconsiderate
Nice office staff just takes to long
My favorite place for healthcare!
Impossible to reach out the staff via phone.
Very helpful and professional.
I called to make an appointment and it says that the waiting time is less than five minutes, its been 30 minutes and they dont respond, so I go to make an appointment through the page and there is always an error.
