The LVN, I believe his name was Joshua was amazing and so sweet!I also appreciate that the medical assistants allowed me to wait for him to draw my blood since my veins are small and they didnt just poke around. They waited for someone who was able to help me and he was able to do it fast, easy, and with a wonderful attitude. I appreciate the clinic! The wait time I will say was a little bit long, but other than that, everything else was great. Very well trained staff.
I havent seen a doctor in a long time, so the process was a bit confusing at first. Fortunately, the staff and doctor were very helpful and quick to assist me and I was in and out at a timely matter. All in all I had a good experience at this facility and recommend it to other future patients.
Ms.Rowena has a great heart to the patients , she would look into a lot of details to makes sure the treatment is right for me . she explained everything to me making sure I understand what to expect and provided me many advices for me to get better . The team were working together seamlessly helped me out from such pain and I was able to work the next day ! They even followed up with me in the morning to make sure I am ok . I wanna say thank you all and I appreciate the service !
We were in need of the Urgent Care for my wife’s wounded thumb on a Sunday. Found this Clinic on line with very good reviews, very happy with the service from the physician and their friendly staffs. Would recommend this place to everyone.
My daughter has been in pain and I was worried it was a hairline fracture. I Called basically every AFC in San Diego and they either didn’t have an X-ray tech or said they didn’t have time to see her. Mira Mesa said if I brought her in by 3:40 (they close at 4, I called at 3:15) they would see her. Everyone there was so helpful and kind and stayed past 4 to help her and get an X-ray done. I’ve never had such a quick visit! I appreciate that team so much.
I was seen for an awful sinus infection that was lingering for so long and I couldnt get in with my PCP fast enough. staff was pleasant and the establishment was pristine. Wait time was considerably short despite a full lobby. Dr. Bryan was so friendly and personable - would definitely recommend if you ever need medical care in a pinch!
I got taken in within ten minutes and they did a rapid molecular test to confirm my vague antigen test after three family members tested positive and I was getting symptoms.Resulted in 20 minutes and paxlovid was prescribed which reversed most of the acute symptoms within 24 hours. I am still coughing but feel much better and testing negative. The nurse practitioner was very thorough and a askso checkrd my acute diverticulitis flare abd prescribed an antibiotic. This is all night and day to our canadian healthcare system which has dived since the pandemic.Last time I had covid i waited 5 hours in ER and was not given paxlovid because asthma wasnoy considered a risk factor. i wound up with several nodules on my left lung which they thought was from covid. The ot tough part is the high cost, but hopefully our extended health will re- imburse.overall a great experience
Before coming to this clinic, we called and said we were sick. When we got there, they kept us there for 2 hours and the patients were talking to the lady in Spanish. He sent Seri in, they noticed that my wife was not well and her blood pressure was very low, but she didnt pay attention and finally we had to go to the ER at Palamar Emergency. Lets go. His work cannot be explained in moral terms. I will never refer to the clinic there and I request patients to research the small clinic before going
Dr. Linda is a wonderful rarity within the medical community. After more than a month of my 5 year old son suffering with chronic ear infection, stuffed nose and loss of taste, Dr. Linda was able to diagnose, treat and recommend follow on actions to help my son. Not only did her actions cure the issue at hand, but her attention to detail as a medical professional helped diagnose a birth defect that causes his symptoms. This birth defect was missed for the entirety of the 5 years I had been seeking help for my son through multiple hospitals and dozens of medical professionals. My son is better off because of her patience, knowledge and devotion to her duty. My son has since been recommended to a specialist he never would have seen if not for her taking the time out to actually listen and properly diagnose through careful and thorough inspection. Her level of care and ability has restored some faith in the medical process for me and my family. I am so pleased that I was able to cross paths with this lovely woman.Thank you Dr. Linda, and I sincerely mean that!
All of the staff was very nice. I did all my paperwork online and made a reservation ahead of time. You don’t get an appointment, but it makes things simpler. I still had to wait a little, but that’s expected with urgent care. You’re going to have to wait anywhere you don’t have an appointment.
Everyone was friendly and professional. The doctor I saw was knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely cared about my ailment. I was very happy with my visit.
We came in today and the wait was long but the service was great Karla checked us in gave us excellent care. Karla put us in a room and came back in to check on us and give the kids stickers. Thank you Karla was your excellent care you gave us. It means a lot.
I took my 87 year old father here when his at home Covid test was positive. My dad has a pace maker and is on heart medication. The RN was very knowledgeable and caring and spoke to my dads cardiologist before prescribing Paxlovid. Im happy to report my dad is feeling better each day!
Took my son in this afternoon, the staff was very helpful and friendly. The check in process was very easy and convenient through their text/online check in. Estimated wait time was 30 minutes, we got taken back in timely manner and Doctor was very easygoing and professional! He answered all our questions as well and sent us on our way. Highly recommend!
Online registration was so easy. I came in on a Tuesday morning and the wait was very minimal. All the staff was so calm and caring, really putting my nerves at ease. The doctor Micheal was so attentive, kind, and knowledgeable. He really puts patient care first and foremost.
Three stars because the practitioners deserve their stars and they are excellent with the kindest of hearts. However, the front desk team is equipped with the strongest of hearts. They will continue their day without giving any cares about anything about their jobs or the patients that come by. Theyre almost poetic when it comes to communication as satirical responses cloud the air when they are put into a pressuring situation. College education has come a long way. Any requests for further documents from the clinic will stutter as they find clever ways to make it your fault as to why its taking so long. You might as well write yourself a script because you will have plenty of opportunities to recite them as try to finish this conquest of a journey.Doesnt deserve a one star review, but a deserving and honest 3 star review.
I would have given them 3 stars if it wasn’t for the girl working reception (work time- 02/29 -7pm). She doesn’t deserve her job. Like, how unhappy are you? Why are you in healthcare if you don’t care? Also, Is HIPPA a thing here? Cause the chat that was said while we sat in the full waiting area at our expense was not appropriate. Let her go. I know plenty of happy caring people who can take her place. The NP who saw my daughter provided a diagnosis without testing for it. My daughter has had Eczema her entire life. The symptoms she was experiencing were not new and not something that came about only months ago…HER WHOLE LIFE! I wish providers would shut up and listen to their patients. We come into these establishments not feeling well just to leave there feeling worse. If you are in healthcare and don’t care about people and how you can help them then leave the profession. We are people not numbers. Now my daughter has a false diagnosis on her record. I really hope the owner of this establishment reads this and chooses to re-evaluate the people who represents them. It’s not right.
Friendly and helpful staff. We were seen by PA Amanda and she explained everything with clarity. I love that she encouraged my 10 year old to share his symptoms. Wait time was not bad as well.
The staff was very friendly and very informative in helping me with my needs and how to address my pain symptoms and the right treatment for it
I was there for UTI. They took me righ away, but told me that result will he in 3 days. 3 days??? Really? They prescribed me antibiotics without having the test and diagnosis back. What if I dont have UTI? Take meds anyway? Horrible! No words to describe how unprofessional it was.
Everyone was friendly. Each step went well. Dr. Krause worked efficiently and thoroughly. I like his way offering care and service. I appreciate very much his kindness and high standard professional services.
Having patients that are clearly sick sit waiting 20+ minutes in lobby for discharge papers???? Really doctor? I dont think youd want to wait that long for your dischargepapers. Youd probably march up to the front desk and demand them.Id think youd want them to get home and rest as soon as possibly to rest.Poor patient care and communication from front desk on discharge paper work status. Suggestion get organized and prioritize the discharge papers as soon as youre done seeing the patient. It will minimize the frustration from patients and maybe your front desk wont have to deal with upset patients staring them down in the lobby, wondering why in the world they have to wait so long for discharge papers.
I came for severe pain in my left ankle pain up to my tendon. I needed help right away. My doctors office is very busy. It takes time to see her or prescriptions. I needed help fast. The doctor Maurice was incredible at Mira Mesa. The staff are friendly and accommodating of needs. X-ray technician at mission valley kind and sensitive to pain. This is my go to now for competent medical support! When I can’t get to my primary doctor.
Friendly staff. Walk in for urgent care went well with Dr. Dabowski. Check in was quick and the staffs provided excellent services. Dr. Dabowski made sure I left with the prescription I really needed. This office is hands down convenient in the Mira mesa area. They are also not too busy which is why I did not have to wait for so long to get checked.
The location is convenient, there was not much of a wait, and the PA was great; however, $129 for a sports physical is ridiculous. We will not be returning.
The nurse practitioner that was working that day was friendly and made sure I got the care I needed. I only come to this urgent care because its close to me but also because the staff is great and always great to patients! I will tell anyone that needs urgent care to come to your facility!
I felt like I was very welcome and treated with respect and kindness thank you 💕
Terrible place arrive at 7:05 pm and checked in quickly they send me back to a room at 7:19 pm and it’s 7:59 pm now lame doctor decided to see these small kids first when I was called back before them. Heavy set medical assistant is lazy didn’t check my weight and was not friendly. Avoid this place they are all quacks.
Went in to have a Covid test today and the facility was dirty. I waited almost two hours before I went to get tested elsewhere. The room I was placed in to have the test done had dirt and dust everywhere and someone left their personal items behind so that was a clear indicator that the room had not been cleaned/reset.
Review for my experience getting I- 693 immigration medical exam at this location with Dr. KeelerThe Positive: The Doctor and nurse explained things clearly and were easy to talk to.The Disappointment: The Front desk/Admin did not include all the lab results in the sealed envelop. The USCIS requires all lab results to be included in the envelope. Will have to see whether the USCIS will request the immigration exam report to be resubmitted. This will cause my immigration case to be delayed. For anyone getting immigration medical exam at this location. Make sure to also read the instructions for the civil surgeon, and request to go over the documents with the nurse or the Doctor, before them sealing the envelope. If they wont go over it with you, carefully look over the copies of the medical report they gave you, and google any medical terminology you dont understand. Make sure all test results are included, as different blood test results will have their separate result page. These days, You just cannot trust any businesses or people will do things correctly and responsibly.
Took about 2 hours to be seen (which is the about the time it takes at any urgent care)Good service once attended. Got my results quick and satisfied with their service. Will be returning if needed.
We got in pretty quick. My son and I were very sick. I had gone to my regular NP and she rushed me out. So the next day the NP we saw at AFC really explained everything to me. She helped us quite a bit. I was using an inhaler wrong that my NP never explained to me. So super thankful for that. Staff was really friendly to my son and I. We are feeling a lot better since she explained to us how to properly use the meds.
Got in to see the doctor within 15 minutes. He was pleasant and listened then proceeded to look closely at the issue. He wound up finding a very tiny glass sliver which he removed much to my delight and relief.
Today I had high high fever, Made an appointment online and drove all the way to this urgent care, the front desk lady tell me unfortunately we are closed because no one from night shift stuff showed up, I mean what do you mean by no one ? How awful and unprofessional can the management be for no one to show up at night shift without any reasons. And they didn’t even bother calling me saying we are closed your appointment is canceled so I didn’t have to drive all the way with high fever and body pain. I am so so upset right now, for medical professionals to be this weak.
I hope my review can help others seeking urgent care. Seeing an incompetent provider does not only waste your time and money, but also delay your treatment which may lead to further health issues. Choose your provider carefully.Linda Broussard, PA, at AFC Mira Mesa failed completely as an urgent care provider. She did not listen to my concerns, she jumped to random conclusions with no evidence, and she was yelling at me. Patients should not be treated like that. My visit to her did not help solve my problem at all.I visited AFC Mira Mesa because I was experiencing shortness of breath and nasal congestion. The doctor prescribed spray and allergy medicine, but my situation did not improve, and my shortness of breath got worse. The next day I called the clinic but that doctor was not on duty and I was seen by another AFC provider Linda Broussard, PA.During my visit I told Linda Broussard that my main concern was shortness of breath. She disregarded my concern and jumped to the conclusion that I had seasonal allergies. I told her that I had never had seasonal allergies before. The first doctor also said the day before my symptoms did not look like seasonal allergies. Linda Broussard insisted, raising her voice, that many people had them, so I had them. I hope she understood that other people having them does not mean that I had them. She suddenly disappeared. I had to ask the staff to look for her because I was having difficulty breathing. That was the reason I came for the visit. Finally she came out of her office. She concluded, without any reason, that I couldn’t breathe because I panicked, and she spoke very loud. My breathing problem was real and not due to panic. I found it hard to communicate with her since she ignored my concerns, jumped to conclusions and raised her voice. Again she prescribed spray and allergy medicine. I didn’t need to go there on two consecutive days to get the same sort of prescriptions. Linda Broussard had no idea what my problem was. If a doctor is not able to treat a patient, please tell them to seek treatment somewhere else, not drawing random conclusions and charging them. I felt very frustrated and disrespected when seeing her.In the end, I was diagnosed as having anemia in another clinic and I recovered after taking a supplement. Given that anemia is not uncommon in females, and my blood pressure, pulse and oxygen levels were all normal during my visit, Linda Broussard failed to bring up the possibility of anemia and drew the random conclusions that my breathing difficulty was due to seasonal allergies and panic when I had no fever, no sneezing and no panic reaction. I wrote to AFC and they decided that they found nothing wrong in the treatment. So you know the standard of the clinic.
I brought my family member here because they had a sore throat. After testing negative for Strep Throat, it turned out to be an allergic reaction. The staff checking in (George and Kevin) were very courteous and helpful. The nurse on staff had excellent bedside manner. And the nurse practitioner Gabby was very knowledgeable and helpful; she prescribed a steroid and Benadryl to help with the inflammation from the allergic reaction. From check in to check out the whole time spent was 1 hour and 40 minutes. Im impressed. I definitely recommend AFC Urgent Care if youre in the area.
I am impressed with this urgent care. They are short staffed which is understanding and another patient had a raging fit about it. The lady at the front desk who was working alone remained calm and professional trying to assist the upset patient as much as possible. This location has excellent customer service and is happy to help. The location near me closed early so I came to this one. They made my visit easy. I recommend.
Thank you for assisting me during my visit! The staff and Dr. Jennifer was very accommodating. 😊
I had a great time with ease and no complications whatsoever i was very lucky to see Julie Keeler who was in full understanding of my situation. I have seen many doctors for my issue i have had for a long time and she listened to me and got me what i needed so i say thank you and keep helping people getting well. We definitely need more people like you!
AFC urgent care I recommend coz the staffs are friendly that’s why me and my family go there
Came to this urgent care and was treated with care and compassion by the front desk and MA. Only improvement is it the NP provider could of explained her plan of care during the exam and listened to my concerns a bit better. I felt like she waved me off a bit. Otherwise good experience, thank you for your help when I was not feeling well!
Had a walkin for COVID & Antibody test. Checkin process took 10 minutes tops. I was paying up front first. They said it may take 45 minutes to wait, but they called me like in 10 minutes. Then when I headed back the Nurse Practioner asked what my insurance was. He said lets refund you the money and send the invoice to my insurance instead to see if theyll pay it. Its great he went out of his way to re-fill the paperwork just so I didnt have to pay out of pocket. Both tests took less than 5 minutes. I was isolated in a sanitized room. Got my receipt and left. Total time took maybe 30-40 min tops. Everyone one was wearing masks, and clients were socially distanced or asked to wait in secondary isolation room. Very efficient and courteous staff!
Office staff was extremely helpful and professional! Positive vibes!
-I want to thank the receptionist at the front desk! He was amazing and kind and very understanding. With his wonderful smile and knowledge about addressing my needs, he made me feel so comfortable.-To my NP ( Gabrielle OKeefe )...how amazing she is! She answered all my questions and examed me with the utmost care and compassion! I got the results of my xrays the very next day and I am on the prescribed medications and on my way to recovery! What a great end to the year! Thanks to both these wonderful people and bless you two for doing what you do every day to insure that people live their lives to the fullest!
Yasmine and Sarah were both organized and efficient with getting me checked in and taking my vitals and past medical history. I believe Kevin was his name that came in and did the test I needed done. He was very informative with letting me know the procedures of how they’d be done. Carin was very helpful explaining possible diagnoses and discussing treatments for each one depending on results of tests. Overall quick and kind experience.
Excellent, welcoming, and efficient service from the front desk receptionist, the nurse that took my vitals, and from Dr. J. Keeler. Keep it up AFC Urgent Care!
Came to the Urgent Care for my father to be seen for a foreign object in his eye, we had excellent service at the clinic today. The front and back staff was great as well as the PA on staff. Most definitely recommend coming here for quick visits.
Today I am at front desk to get details about covid test appointment. Honestly, I don’t want to talk about the situation. But I wish other persons to have better experience. At the front door, there is sign “short staffed, be nice” which is great to address. The lady at front desk is very rude, did not hear me or let me talk. When I am trying to talk, she throws sticky notes at her colleague as if she wants me to leave. I left immediately. We know its bad day for everyone lately, but I wish they don’t show on people who comes for help. This happened not just to me, two other ladies before me had faced the same situation. There was elderly lady last time, she is nice.
Everyone was very kind & professional. They made the experience as painless as possible.
I had some sort of respiratory problem and there were two persons at my son’s home where we were staying (we had just arrived from the other side of the country) who had medical issues that could make an infection such as COVID or even influenza or RSV fairly dangerous. The provider who saw me was EXTREMELY thorough and successfully narrowed it down to COVID. I am age 70 but in pretty good health and she went through a couple of additional tests to determine that my best course was to start Paxlovid. The provider was so meticulous in thinking about every detail of of how this all related to me personally and my family situation that I was very impressed. A+ with extra credit!!
They were all very friendly, courteous, efficient, and knew their jobs well. Yes, there was a wait but thats par course for urgent care.
AFC Mira Mesa is the best urgent care in San Diego! I love that you can preregister online & get an appointment time! Their reception & waiting area is friendly & immaculate. All the staff are courteous, thorough & professional. I feel 100% confident with all my healthcare needs in their hands ❣️ ☺️👍👍
The appointment experience was fine. The walk-in visit took a while because of all the COVID patients, no problem. What was disappointing was I never received prescribed medicine. They said they sent the prescriptions to the pharmacy... the pharmacy never received the order. I called them probably 5 times, and it would go to voicemail. I finally got a hold of someone 3 days later, he said he would call the pharmacy and take care of it...never happened. Theyre likely overwhelmed with COVID patients, but when the patient experience is this bad, start turning, people away...
I would definitely recommend you guys. 10 out of 10. Excellent service! The staff were all friendly and helpful. The wait time wasnt very long at all. My Dr was very informative and helpful with my issue. My Experience was great because of everyone.Thank you!
Told there was a 3 hour wait. I went to wait in my car for a bit, trusting front desks word they would send a text notification 15 minutes prior to being seen with consideration the wait may be less than expected (basically letting me know im next). Received a text less than an hour later that I lost my place in line.
Staff at ARC urgent care were welcome and courteous.Dr and assistant were efficient in diagnosing my physical status and were able to provide recommendations for next step to get better
Took our 2 year old son here for high fever (102 +). Front desk staff were kind and so was the young man who took vitals, but medical staff were condescending. The tech who took nose swabs used a VERY loud voice to talk to our son, which was unnecessary and disturbing. Doc prescribed antibiotics because one of our son’s ears looked slightly red, but we got a second opinion and the second doc said that it wasn’t an ear infection so antibiotics would be unnecessary. Some sensitivity training would go a long way here. Pros: open on Sunday. Convenient location. Wouldn’t go here again though.
Front desk was great however Christine Sullivan the physician on duty, prescribed me medication that was not covered by my insurance. Granted it was Sunday however UCSF San Francisco is a 24 hr hospital. I discussed my past history with her and I felt the least she could do was check with them or the very least culture my urine. Not a GREAT start to my life back in San DiegoToday 3/6/21 I had to re visit urgent care. As before front desk was great. Dr Frisbie was Amazing. I left there very satisfied. I want to Thank all for my visit today. Sherrie Carpenter
The staff was really helpful and friendly, the wait was minimal even on a Saturday, and the care I received (as well as my injury) seemed pretty textbook and I was pleased with how the doctor explained her findings to us.
Amazing Urgent Care with a extremely knowledgeable nurse practitioner and was looking out for my needs. The asst nurse or nurse who checked me in was also great and welcoming. Very impressed with how similar it is to an actual hospital check in. Thank you
This is the first negative review I have posted. Shocking lack of responsibility at the front desk. I registered online and received a text asking me to wait for further instructions. I waited for several hours, then called the number listed on the site for AFC urgent care Mira Mesa. I was told to visit the clinic to get tested. I drove to the clinic only to be told that they only test patients who are symptomatic, which is OK, but not after telling me to go ahead and drive over while on the phone. When I referenced the text and bad information I had been given, the wait time, the directions on their automated answering machine, the staff simply indicated it was wrong information and sent me on my way. Staff at the desk showed no interest in my issue with the service and took no responsibility for their role in telling me to drive there on bad information. Im not the type of person to ask to speak with the manager, but in retrospect it may have been warranted.
Doors were open, which was nice for fresh air into the lobby. Seating was well spread out, and the wait was only 15 min. All staff was plesent and made me feel comfortable and not only just a body. I went for high blood sugar and was sent to the by the DR. Excellent experience. Best at a medical facility in years.
This is the cleanest, nicest, and fastest Urgent Care Ive ever been to. Thats not saying much compared to most Urgent Care offices but this place is actually really nice. The staff and Doctor were super nice and friendly. I was in and out in 45 minutes with x-rays!
Very happy with the care I received here. It took a couple visits to nail down the issue, but ultimately everyone I encountered was pleasant. In particular, Dr. Julie Kaltgrad was the best!!
I called this facility after my son got a facial injury playing with a dog. I described to them over the phone exactly where the wound was, how big, and how old my son is and asked them if they would be able to treat him. They told me yes so we drove down. After waiting in the waiting room for over 30 minutes, they came out and said they wouldnt be able to treat him because they dont have toys to help him while they gave him a shot to numb the pain before stitches. I told them that my son has never had a problem with shots and I would be there every step of the way. Still refused to treat him, even though I called before hand and described the situation perfectly and was assured they could treat my son. They said they were only equipped to handle adults even though they watched my 9 year old sit and bleed in their waiting room for half an hour.
Service was good. My only concern is that I did get tested for covid, which was negative, but I didnt get tested for influenza. The following day it turned out that i had Influenza type A so I shouldnt have given any antibiotics!!!!! Please check next time before subscribing! Thank youyou have my email actually under veronika savage. Well, I understand I did not ask for the flu test..
I was seen quickly and efficiently. However the provider (PA) did not wash her hands upon entering the room or before examining me, nor did she introduce herself. While my back was to her she simply said Hi, what can I do for you? She was otherwise professional and pleasant. However providers should always wash their hands (sanitation) and introduce themselves (common courtesy). Otherwise a great visit but Im noting these two items in the hope clinic staff will take make some basic changes. (A link I was provided with by the clinic to complete an online survey did not work.)Also they got the diagnosis completely wrong. When I returned home I visited a dermatologist and it turned out I had shingles! The PA had thought it was a skin infection. Misdiagnoses happen, I know, but still wanted to point out another way we found this clinic wanting.
My wife and I went here to get a covid test. The staff was almost mechanical as their was not a compassionate amongst them. We filled out the paperwork and waited. Ten minutes later my wife noticed that the receptionist had not returned her drivers license and insurance card. When she asked for it back the receptionist to the left said that the other receptionist wasnt done with it yet! As a matter of fact she hadnt even begun to enter her info into their system. Seeing that there was no Urgency being demonstrated by any employee at this facility, I asked how long it would be before we got the test. I was told 45 minutes! 45 minutes is an awful long time to get service from a company with URGENT in its title! Maybe they should change it to just CARE instead of urgent care! Further I would think that making a potential covid patient wait 45 minutes in the lobby, possibly spreading a deadly disease, would be unacceptable for 90% of persons asked. We were more than disappointed when we were ganged up on by the staff insisting that this was wait time was normal in their Urgent Care facility. Finally there was no lack of employees joking in the back, standing around doing nothing, waiting for the phone to ring, etc. Maybe assignments can be changed so that someone can help the sick and needy public more expeditiously than 45 minutes especially when you could possibly be really sick!
I have only gone here once before for a covid test and I made sure to see if my insurance covered the visit. My insurance did, but their provider billed it wrong. So I was billed extra money in the mail and wasted many hours of my time to get my insurance to talk to their department to dispute it. I had to spend so much time being sent around over the phone with no one taking responsibility. When I talked to their front desk they say they have a different provider and that it was a mistake with the coding, (to waive it off as if there’s no fault) but then I asked if it was a human error and the front desk person looked surprise. They have these “provider” “coding” jargon so when they mess up no one needs to answer for it while the patient has to spend hours of their time and or give up money to correct it; This is how their Urgent Care system works and they say that they can’t say who the provider was so that their front desk can just fizzle out your questions and no one gets any blame. This is disappointing service so far.
Today was my second visit to this urgent care and on each occasion I have found the staff to be courteous, the facility clean and the wait times minimal. The doctors and staff take all concerns seriously and I was even given helpful advice to take to my primary care physician, which helped immensely with a recurring condition! If only all healthcare facilities were this quick, efficient and pleasant to deal with!! I highly recommend AFC Urgent Care Mira Mesa.
I walked in for a quick pre employment physical for a fitness test i needed to run the next morning. I was turned away with no explanation besides “we cant do this” yet i walked into the minute clinic at CVS right after and they had no issue knocking it out for me.
These guys are really nice. They got me in fast, and were just really nice to talk to! They helped me with my problem and took the time to talk to me about another random medical question. The MA was great, friendly, and made the appt go by fast! Receptionist was sweet and explained everything he needed to. I would definitely come here again.
Friendly staff, very busy, but well organized. Like many urgent care places, long wait, but the staff kept all patients informed of wait times.
Unprofessional!!!!!The male nurse laughed at me when I told him I was not feeling well.I walked in on a sunday afternoon, there was only 1 other person waiting in the lobby. They took 15mins to see me, and only bec I walked up to the desk and told her I was leaving to go to another place. I had told her and put in the paperwork that I was having issues with my asthma, trouble breathing, my left arm and shoulder was getting numb and sore and they still made me wait for nothing. Then when I said I was leaving they called me in and the male nurse said, Are you in a hurry to leave? I said no, I dont feel well. And he laughed at me and said we all dont feel well. I turned around and walked out. Is that how you treat patients at a urgent care center ???? They come there for help, not to be made fun of. Especially after I told them my chest was hurting and I was having trouble breathing. So unprofessional, never ever going back.
The is the best urgent care I ever go to. I alway get seen within a timely manner and feel well cared for by all of the staff, day or night. Thank you!
All staff members including: Mariusz M, NP, Heather, MA, Wendy, MA, Christine Front Desk, were friendly, courteous and helpful. This team is the best.
My mom was prescribed 7 days of anti viral medicine for her shingles. The provider did not communicate to us it is only 7 days and what to do if we run out. He seemed in a rush and impatient. We are self pay and run out of prescription. The symtopms are not completely gone although better. I contacted to get more prescription. And was told to visit again and pay the whole amount again. We are self pay and do not want to pay twice for the same symtopms. We just want 3 more days of the prescription. For the impatient treatment and inflexiblitity i am giving 1 star. And Will look elsewhere for next visit
Why this place cant be my Primary care instead is beyond me! The staff is super friendly and attentive! Zahra was super nice and friendly as a receptionist and Adam was super nice while taking my vitals! The doctor is also super nice and listens to everything you have to say, even if its not applicable and he makes you feel comfortable and respects your time and privacy. I really recommend this place if you need medical attention!
Probably the worst urgent care I’ve been to. They took months to let me know that they don’t accept my insurance after I made a couple visits. Also the lady said that there is nothing I should be concerned about but she’ll send my sample for lab testing JUST IN CASE. That “just in case” lab test costed me a little over $1k. They didn’t even notify me about the cost or future billing. That was very unprofessional. It seemed like they just wanted to make money off of my visit. Would not recommend this clinic to anyone.
I dont really like to say negative remarks about healthcare facility. Unfortunately, the way they handled my daughters traumatic situation was horrible. They have incompetent, lazy, and non caring people working in this establishment. Their mission and values definitely does not correlate with their characters and actions. I urge the public to go someplace else if you want to live. The solutions theyll provide you will kill you. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!
Really impressed. My son fell today at school and had a swollen wrist. Unsure if it was a broken bone and where we could go. I called the AFC office in Mission Valley and asked if they accepted Medi-Cal. They said that their Mira Mesa location did so we headed to Mira Mesa. The staff was great and put my son at ease. He got an x-ray and had a couple small fractures in his wrist area. Our next stop was to Childrens for a cast but they did a great job. This will definitely be our go to option for urgent care needs.NOTE: the photos of green cast were taken at Childrens Orthopedics which was the suggestion that AFC gave us. Great experience all the way around.
Went in last month for a bad sore throat. The majority of the staff was great - in & out, very kind, gentle, and the place was super clean. The reason for lack of stars is 100% because of an extremely rude, verbally abusive male nurse. I dont want to go into too much detail, BUT - if you are a woman and you are in recovery from/currently have an eating disorder, PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS URGENT CARE. Bedside manor, or whatever you want to call it, is the worst Ive ever experienced in my 3+ years of recovery. I was distraught for weeks after my visit. Its a shame because I was really happy to have found AFC after relocating to San Diego, in the interim of not having health insurance. Management handled it well but in case this man is still there - BE FOREWARNED! DO. NOT. GO.
Gabby and her staff are nothing but angels went out of their way to help my family. They have the kindest and honest of hearts. I would defiantly recommend them to anyone who needs medical assistance.love,Nancy, William, and David Light
This is my 2nd time coming to this center and I am less than pleased with my results. While the office visits are generally pleasant The follow up and customer service was severely lacking. I didnt get proper attention at the 1st visit and instead was given 2 exams that did not address my immediate concerns. I asked for a call back from the NP or receptionist, and both left for the day without calling. Starting week 2 of an obvious flu w/o proper attention.
I had to wait a little bit but I was seen. Was even able to bring my dog to wait with me.
Customer service was not great when I first called asking about covid testing, the girl on the phone was rude and barely gave any information on the testing. It took 2 hours to get tested because of the shifts? Which made no sense to me. I was told it would take 5-6 days it’s not been 9 days and I still have not heard anything. I called back and they now said it’ll be 7-10 days, I understand that there are a lot of tests going on during this time but at least call those who have taken the test and update them about the delay. Don’t really recommend going, find another place that might give you faster results because it’s a waste of time going there.
This place is so great! I was helped by Zahra at the front desk. She was helpful and informative. I didnt have to wait long even though i was a walk in for a routine check up. Then Aaron helped me and took my height n weight. He was very friendly and we exchanged good conversation. He was quick and professional when taking my blood. Lastly, Dr. Adomako saw me and he was also very informative, polite and helpful. Straight to the point this place is. Their facility is top notch and clean. I would recommend here over any other clinic hands down.
To the lady that I talked to you on the phone this morning that was incredibly rude to me in my time of need and being a extremely bad asthmatic. I can not believe how rude she was to me I cannot believe someone like this would have a job in the healthcare industry I have been coming there for so long I have never ever been treated with so disrespectfully. I think you should probably find another career path because you are not sympathetic with people at all you are rude……Also AFC to stop offering Covid testing while cases are on the rise is completely idiotic to me and makes no sense.
Went in for a Covid test and it was a 3.5hour wait. I had telltale symptoms and felt awful. I mentioned I lived just down the street and asked if I could go home to rest and get a call 10-15 minutes before it was my turn. The lady at the desk rudely said No, when we call you, you have 5 minutes or we cancel your appointment. You can hang around here, go shop in the mall or get some food if you like. Gee, thanks, Lady...let me just go prance around this shopping mall while having signs of Covid being sure to spread it to everyone... thats really well thought out. The nurse and doctor were both kind and effeciant but someone needs to chat with the reception team. I should also mention the same reception lady was taking personal phone calls while at the reception desk and screaming at her kids for everyone in the waiting room to hear. Absolutely zero professionalism.
If you want a COVID test done you must be here at 5am because only the first 30people can get tested. They do not open till 8am.If you werent sick before you will definitely be after 3hrs in the cold.If they are going to have it set up like this, they should at least come in an hr early.Oh not to mention the count will be off because one person will hold a spot for 3+ people.Once I actually get seen Ill will update my review.ALSO THIS REVIEW IS A WARNING TO PATIENTS BECAUSE THE COMPANY OBVIOUSLY ARE NOT TRYING TO FIX THE PROBLEMS EVERYONE IS COMPLAINING ABOUT.Update:been here for 3hrs.An employee came to put a note on the door saying they will not open to 12pm.
I am very disappointed that I have to write a bad review for this place. We have gone here for the last 3 years (and quite often too) with exceptional care. Every time I am seen, I am in and out the door quickly. They run whatever tests they need to (X-rays, flue/COVID, tonsillitis swabs) and always prescribe medication needed. Well today I am absolutely DISGUSTED with what happened! My husband had went in for shortness of breath and breathing difficulties (has history of asthma). As soon as he stepped foot in the door the PROVIDER turned him away and said they could not help him because they don’t do x rays or nebulizer treatments. My husband is the non confrontational type so he said sorry and walked out the door and called me. If he was anyone else, he probably would’ve believed it, HOWEVER the funny thing is that I had just gone not even 2 weeks ago for the same thing and was diagnosed with bronchitis, given the nebulizer treatment, offered a chest x ray (dr and I both decided not to since I had recently had one), and prescribed steroids and antibiotics for an asthma flare up. You know what they said when I called them? That due to COVID they are not allowed to and that the DR was not allowed to treat me? THAT was their excuse for turning down my husband. Of course I asked to speak to upper management because how could you take care of me 2 weeks ago with exceptional care but turn down my husband today for a bull*** excuse? (It’s a Friday so it has me wondering if they just wanted to close up). I spoke to the manager at a different location eventually and she agreed that he should’ve been seen regardless. I explained we don’t even need a nebulizer treatment, we already have that at home. We just want a doctor to see him and prescribe anything needed to get him feeling okay again. So sadly we will never be retuning again and I recommend NEVER to go here if your provider happens to be named GABBY.
I called this clinic to inquire about covid testing and I was told the rapid nasal swab was available. Once there I was seen by ‘someone’ (she didn’t introduce herself or any info given on her name/credentials by the staff). The appointment was less than 5 min and she gave me several medications without addressing my Covid concern. I was told the the nasal swab result would be back in 5-7 days. So much for being rapid. This was an awful experience and did nothing to address my concerns or symptoms.
It was a great experience. I would definitely recommend.
I went to AFC Urgent Care Mira Mesa last week- they were the best Urgent Care Ive ever seen or been to. The Receptionist, Joceyl (spelling might be wrong) was wonderful and efficient and got me into see Gabrielle OKeefe FNP very quickly. First was a stop to Adam who took my vitals and got pertinent information on what was wrong. Then Gabrielle OKeefe saw me and diagnosed what ailed me. She was exactly right as it turned out, and took her time explaining everything, was very professional and got my prescription lined up and gave me detailed instructions which came in very handy later on. She also was very knowledgeable in answering all my questions. I had and have much confidence in her abilities. Adam administered an injection- absolutely the best shot giver ever. No pain either. Because of the detailed instructions I was given, I realized I needed to go back to AFC 3 days later- I was visiting the San Diego area so of course I didnt have a doctor. But AFC took care of everything just like my doctor at home would have done. At the 2nd AFC visit Zahra was the receptionist and was also very wonderful and efficient. Zahra also took the time to make sure I got a copy of my lab results. I first saw Adam again and then I went in to see Ami Bali, P.A-C. Ami Bali was amazing too, very skilled and took care of the reason I had to come back. I feel that AFC, to have the best medical people Ive been to, well, it wasnt a coincidence- it was the normal standards set by AFC. So glad to be able to finally get to write this review! This AFC had high ratings when I was checking where to go - you can never tell just by the ratings but I can confirm they are the BEST!!! Thank you all who took the time and had the knowledge and skill to make me well again!
This place is very efficient and well run. The staff is dealing with a high volume of people and seemed very knowledgeable and courteous. It was a two hour wait for a Covid test. They told us up front and all was cool. You have to admire these people. Be NICE to them and Thank them for their frontline work. Much Appreciated.
I had great people here thank you Linda thank you Kevin thank you thank uou jessica!! staff are amazing kind professional humble compare other location I recommended this place they my day happy I am lucky to thats I am here Mira mesa place again thank you for all respect your out standing treatment.I head pain but this tteatment better then meducine.
This was the worst experience I’ve ever had at an Urgent Care. The front office clerk started mouthing off to my husband. He got real testy for no reason. They made me feel so uneasy the entire time I ran a high fever. I felt harassed by the guy taking my temperature, he told me to take off my sweater to get a good blood pressure reading. I came in for a high fever and having the flu twice in the last four weeks and I requested a chest X-ray because my cough was so bad and the medical assistant said it’s at the doctors desrecrion - just because I’m requesting it doesn’t mean I’ll get it. The doctor was terrible and sent me to the ER - he told me that they are limited and cannot help me. They didn’t even really try. I’m never returning back to this place. It is unprofessional, they lack basic knowledge and I had really work hard to get an X-ray. What a strange experience. I’m never coming back. I went to Scripps LA JOLLA ER and was so pleasantly surprised and the care and knowledge of their doctors and staff. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place!!!!!!
I was there 15mins ago for covid test. The receptionist ask me to pay for $75 as copay. I ask her if i am not covered with my insurance. She said yes i am but the $75 is for AFC urgent care fee. I ask her why is it my two coworker who came yesterday for covid test pay for $20 only with their insurance. She said i dont know im not here yesterday. Really? Are the fees depends on the day of the visit? I did check on my insurance and it says 0$ copay. So i back out and ask for refund.
Took my teenage daughter who had jammed her pinky toe on Sunday evening. Everyone from the receptionist to the nurse practitioner was very courteous, warm and efficient. The whole visit took less than 1 hour. Thank you.
Horrible. Do not schedule your Covid Testing for Travel (Hawaii ) in here. They wait until the day to tell you that its not covered by insurance so you dont have time to schedule appointment and testing with any other place. I called 3 times and was suppose to get a call back regarding the cost of Covid test with my insurance. No response. Even the last day, they mentioned that I just have to pay for Co-pay only. 2 hours before appointment, they will call you and say its not covered and you have to pay $250.0 out of pocket.
The nurse practitioner was very helpful, nice kind and generous! The wait time was not bad at all I was in and out!!
The staff was courteous and professional. Amanda did a great job, explaining how to do self-care.
The staff we met while visiting were all phenomenal, the wait time wasn’t terrible- we were in and out in an hour, so thankful for that! Paperwork and registration was easy as well. Definitely will visit in the future if needed.
Dr. Christine Sullivan is amazing! I would recommend her to anyone. Clean facility, the wait was not long, professional staff. Thank you Dr. Sullivan for your healing hands and expertise.
Thank them so for the fast, friendly and most competent service
Good and helpful front desk staff. The provider was thorough and helpful!
If I could lower the rate from 1 to a ZERO—I would. You know I thought the care from this facility would give just that ... care. Well, I was seen through video as I did not want to go into office to infect anyone with Covid after receiving a positive test at another entity. I was viewed on video and told we can’t prescribe you anything even though I have fever, chills, dry cough and massive body aches like never before. Instead I was told get up go to the store get some robitussin and Advil— you can buy this over the counter. First of all, I have insurance that’s what it’s for —to pay for my prescriptions. Also, suffering from a shoulder injury they would not give me a week supply of muscle relaxers. I then could not even proceed to ask for a heartburn or inhaler medication after being toldNO GET OVER IT.This place just charges your insurance but doesn’t want to put the work in and take care of patients—and write a prescription. I’ll never go here again !Good luck to those who’ll try.
Came to get a COVID test done. The front desk lady confirmed that they can help. Next thing I know I’m getting a physical exam before my COVID test. Nothing was communicated about the physical exam when I checked in. When I brought up the unnecessary cost of the physical, they responded that my insurance will cover it. Since it’s urgent care, they must do physicals.
Zahra made everything simple for me, and all staff was super chill while professional ofcourse. Real quick visit, wish my PCP was this efficient. Definitely a spot to stop by guys for your urgent care needs.
Giving this place a 3 star (sadly not 5).Zahra is the reason I came back to this place, she was really helpful on my 1st and 2nd visit. She actually went above and beyond to help find certain answers unlike the other urgent cares who turned me away. The reason why I didnt give it a 5 star (sorry zahra but someone ruined this 5 star) is because my 2nd visit, the male doctor was very unprofessional and judgemental, i came for answers not a I dont want to deal with you attitude, I know we have our bad days but it doesnt mean he has to act that way.Made me feel uncomfortable.
Called to ask if they accept a type of insurance, and they said yes. I took a break from work, drove all the way there, and when I arrived to check in to be seen, the front desk employee lied and said I didn’t talk to their office and they don’t accept my insurance. I told him I used google, and he said it connects to their Bonita office?? Pretty sure this page says MIRA MESA. How about double checking your work and make sure you aren’t wasting people’s time.
Daughter went on Friday, and the RN gave her a wrong prescription. She kept getting her confused with the patient in the next room.
Apparently showed up at shift change. While my father, 93 and in distress, sat in the lobby I listened to at least 6 staff members talk about their weekend plans, eyelashes and other nonsense. Completely unprofessional.unprofessional to
China who works here up from is very unprofessional and rude!!! She rolls her eyes and try’s to get smart. This place is so tacky and the PA WHO IS TAKING IN THE PATIENTS DIDNT EVEN INTRODUCE HIMSELF OR KNOCK ON THE DOOR BEFORE ENTERING. X Ray bald guy was extremely rude and not compassionate at all. He also didn’t knock on the door before entering this place will be reported to the proper agency.
1) Nurses are unprofessional.....2) The male nurse need to learn how to respect patients.3) Stealing money.....I informed them my wife is not pregnant as the uterus and uterine tubes got removed many years ago, but they insisted to do a pregnancy test !!! and of course test is Negative !!!
Waste of time and energy, with no result. I’m back at the emergency room because of their greed for money. Don’t waste your time with this place
Been waiting in an office for 45 minutes. The place is empty. Starting at 3 and taking a star off every 10 minutes.I can hear you talking about a tv show out there
Speedy services, accepts many kinds of insurance, including Medical so for most folks this is the urgent care to be. Fast, responsive staff, PA was nice and speedy, spoke clearly, explained things well, and overall a great experience.
I have come to this location a few times and I absolutely love the staff here. I had to go in for a pretty bad allergic reaction and Zahra was quick to make sure I got the attention I needed. Everyone was very helpful and made sure I was comfortable.
My family and i go here alot. To be seen quick if we have no openings for our regular doctors. And we are pleased wih every visit so far. This place is great. And would recommend it to anyone.
This is NOT a location that has walk in COVID testing, despite their own website stating it and Google as well. Theres a sign on the door that says you can only get tested if youve scheduled a full appointment and yet the office was basically empty. I wasted my time for nothing! Heres hoping that Im negative since now I have to wait to find an alternative testing center that has availability.
I got a letter from a debt collector. AFC is charging me for my check-up last year. Letter says my insurance didnt pay them, so they had to charge me for the payment. Cant even reach them thru phone. They accepted my insurance and asked me for co-pay, I dont know, but it couldve been an error from the front desk, but youre telling me I have to pay you for your employees mistakes?
It was a smooth visit. Not much of a wait in the evening. Nurse and doctor treated well.
The service has gotten worse over time. I waited 2.5hrs to be seen for 5mins from a provider. Then I had to them for few times to discharge me. The people that work there were too busy socializing. They’re also closed when they’re supposed to be open
I had a COVID test done about noon on June 18th, tomorrow will be 1 week and still no results. A coworker had his done on the same day later in the afternoon and his results were back on Monday evening. I will be off quarantine before I see the results. A waste of $250.00. I will never set foot in this place again.
Not on time. I had to travel and the nurse had said I should receive my covid test results in 2 days.I received the results after i reached my destination. Had to get it done again before my flight at another place with 24 hrs result delivery.
I went to AFC Urgent care balboa because I had just a fever but the girls how work in the front desk sent me to the other location, she said I need an extra and when I got to the other location they said I let me see the doctor first before they decided what I needed and the doctor said I don’t need an extra. The people in the other location were very helpful
Streamlined process. Everyone was very friendly too. I was pleased that my insurance covered everything with no added costs!
Very EXPENSIVE place! They sent a $573 bill to the insurance company for my kids flu related visit (regular check + flu and strep tests). Out of pocket cost was more than $200 ! Look for another place. A walk-in clinic visit should not cost more a 100 dollars.
Urgent care Mira Mesa is small clinic but it has X-RAY and ECG machine which I appreciated much.
Best care and speedy service by the nice professional staff. I was a walk-in yesterday. They were busy and I was tested within 1-1/2 hours! Wow
Was pleasantly surprised after cutting my hand on a Saturday that this urgent care had very little red tape, almost no wait, and quickly and professionally addressed my laceration. Wish all urgent care facilities were like this one.
I received care rapidy and the staff was extremely friendly. I would Highly recommend it to anybody that needs to be seen quick, by medical professionals, without having to go to an ER.
Went to the mira mesa location. The staff was friendly and answered all the questions i had. Its been three days later and im feeling much better. Kinda pricey if you dont have insurance but beats the price of going to the ER. Thank you Mira Mesa Team.
Tried to go at 8:45 this morning but it was still closed even though it says it opens at 8.
Ive been twice and each time was very efficient and relatively quick. The NP on call was great and knowledgeable.
The providers and staff here are very kind and efficient, and they listen intently and speak to their patients in an open way that they can understand. I am very appreciative of the excellent service.
I wen’t here for my sore throat/tonsillitis, the staff were really nice, the place is very clean and sanitized I waited 30-40 mins to be called and that’s not a problem to me I’m not in a rush. And yep they accept Medical 😊😊
The process of registering for Teledoc was super easy and I got an appointment for an hour later. The doctor was really nice and helpful. Great experience.
The visit for treatment of my eye was super amazing. Got very nicely and well- treated by Dr. She was awesome. Recommend it!
First time here and the staff was very nice. Doctor was thorough with everything. Good place to go. Very clean. Glad I went there instead of Samahan. (Jus saying)
I had a great experience here, everyone one was very nice I was seen earlier then expected, really the moral of the story here treat people with respect and they will treat you good !!!!
AFC did an excellent job taking care of the medical needs for my son. Friendly and professional.
They are all very nice friendly and accommodating Thank you so much for the excellent service.
I got in and out under 2 hours and I walked out feeling way better. Great clinic.
Clean, organized, professional. Convenient location (in mall near CVS) and hours (open and empty at 8am-9am Sunday). Thanks for helping with the kids splinter and infection!
Always receive prompt professional service from AFC Urgent Care! Glad I was recommended by my daughter to come here.
I had a good experience they tried to get in soon as possible because l am disabled my transportation l had bronchitis give me medication for it
Very nice staff and everyone is awesome.
The worst urgent care ever. From the time I walked in the assistance were very rude for no reason. I will never go there.
They suggested that I go directly to hospital in a very unkind way.Since I listen to my own inner guidance, I felt this was not needed today.Sweet, they were NOT..
Horrible place, they dont do refills depending on who the doctor is and while other afc do. This was a I believe dr sanders.by the way, no one was even there Im assuming they dont want patients
The staff is friendlier than when I go to the VA clinic.
First time here for myself. Honestly even though the wait was a bit long. The staff were so so nice.
This is not a place to receive any sort of medical care or Covid tests. Horrible experience with whoever was at the front desk and their phone menu options are very out of date.
Excellent urgent care. Very professional and knowledgeable. We’re able to help me immediately.
Very fast wait time. Excepted my ins. And dr was great and helpful. A lil bit of a drive but worth it.
Wait time was very long ~ 1.5 hrs with just 3 patients ahead of me. They should have the information on the wait time in their website just like most urgent cares have.
We had a exceptional Doctor Linda and the staff was great too!!!!!!!
The doctor was thorough and gentle with my 3 year old!
They were all amazing. Got blood drawn and didn’t feel a thing!
The staff is not friendly, they are always watching the clock the close on time rather than help people.
I love the place they service very good and all the stuff very polite!❤️
The provider and staff were very helpful and nice.
Fast and great service
Friendly, organized, and caring.
The wait time was short and the care was great!
Please do not come at the time of their shift change.Waiting for more than one hour for a rapid covid test
They do not respect their hours of operation
Im so glad they open one in Mira Mesa area!Fast service and friendly staff take care of you!
Quick and helpful. Assuming it was quicker as there were not too many people.
Very capable and friendly in a convenient location.
Fast and objective without being in a rush...great place, will be back if necessary, for sure!
Very helpful 👌 ☺️ 🙂 and all of them are super nice.
Possibly the nicest staff!I found them to be professional, helpful, courteous, and caring!
Get ready to stay and wait for a long ng time despite getting in line through their site.
Great experience. Attentive, friendly, and personable.
Very clean and nice staff. Convenient location with lots of parking.
Very impressive, helpful, friendly, courteous, efficient.
Gabby examined and repaired my finger. She is truly professional.
