I was diagnosed with an STI. I was late For my appointment to pick up my prescription and they refused to give it to me, Or to provide treatment for my partner
I had never been to a Planned Parenthood before but recently I turned 26 and lost my health insurance. I was looking for medical attention (not an emergency) on a Saturday and they had a cancellation and were able to fit me in!The lobby is very clean and the staff is the friendliest staff! I’ve never felt more comfortable in a health office. I had private insurance before and no one was ever as nice or cared as much. They made it super easy and we’re able to help me get signed up for a government program to assist with paying for my treatment! I was floored.I highly recommend to anyone, they are very friendly! Thank you for being inviting and so so helpful.
Wonderful experience for the most painful time of my life. Thisclinic made it as easy and comfortable as physically possible. Privileged to experience the *choice* of enduring this pain, and yet the doctor and nurses here made me feel valid and supported through it all. Thank you PP, for persevering through the bigotry and truly helping not just women, but everyone.
I tried to make an appointment multiple times and they did not send a confirmation text or email. I cannot go to my appointment without tangible evidence that it exists. I asked the office staff to please send one, and she said I’m already signed up for text messages and she doesn’t know why I didn’t receive it. She refused to send me anything, saying that she can’t. Every other healthcare provider I’ve been to sends a confirmation email or text. I told her I would then need to go somewhere else, and she refused to recommend a different place to go for services when I asked. It should be a very simple thing to send a text message or email confirming my appointment, it doesn’t make sense that she “can’t” do it. They can send texts telling me to vote for abortion rights after all.
I went here to get my Nexplanon birth control implant removed My regular OB office inserted the Nexplanon and did a horrible job. It was traumatic, and I was terrified to get it removed. I made the appointment here even though I live in Nipomo because I really wanted to make sure I went somewhere that I knew would be compassionate. Im so glad that I did that. They were able to get it out, I did not feel a thing, and it was so much better. The Dr. was very kind, empathetic, and they gave me great info relevant to my situation. Definitely wish they were closer because everyone here is always so nice.
I’m only giving this place a star because of the customer service 800 line, they schedule you promptly and within in a short time frame. They’re also very polite! However, expect to wait forever at this location, you’ll hear the reception staff gossip about each other or other patients, which is very despicable. I watched a girl walk out because they forgot about her in an exam room! I’m positive it’s not the first time they’ve done this. The doctors seem polite but no one Really wants to get to know you the patient. Every time I’ve been here there’s new staff members this facility seems to have a revolving door No one wants to stay! No wonder!
I went for a biopsy and was anxious the whole time. The doctors who treated me were open and vocal and very kind, and at one point offered me a swab of lavander oil to calm my nerves.Mari, who I believe was the co clinic head or something along those lines, held my hand through the whole thing and talked to me about self validation and helping me feel better. I hope to come back soon and see her and the provider, and the other doctor who helped.Lovely visit, hope to be back soon with good news.
If I could give the SLO Planned Parenthood Zero stars I would. I scheduled an appointment for today at 9:10 am. After waiting for 40 minutes, I went up to the desk and asked them how much longer the wait would be since Ive already waited for 40 minutes. I was told that the wait would be an additional 30-40 minutes. That is absolutely inexcusable. After asking if this was the norm I was told that it is best to reserve about 2 hours of time, and this is with a scheduled appointment. I took my ID and insurance cards back and left.Incredibly unorganized and clearly unable to properly manage their time. I will not be returning to this location nor will I ever recommend.
I came here to get contraception when I was newly married in 2013. I had to come with my 2yo, who I brought in a stroller, and they told me I couldnt bring the stroller into the back area with the exam rooms. It was mildly inconvenient to walk all the way back to my car, put the stroller back and then walk back to the clinic, but other than that - everything was great. My NP was kind and sympathetic to how quickly I needed my contraception, and I had my rx filled for the whole year.
I just moved here, and my experiences with SLO Planned Parenthood have been the worst!! I could go in a very long detailed rant. But I’ll keep it simple. The secretaries are rude, the MA is over opinionated and doesn’t know what she’s talking about and shouldn’t be so aggressively telling people what to do. And he Nurses who “helped” me didn’t know what they were doing. They asked if I was sure I had an IUC put in because they couldn’t find it..... ummmm what medical professional asks such a question?!?!?. I had to come back again because those nurses couldn’t get it, and then they just prescribed me a pill without talking to me about it. When I found out it wasn’t what I wanted they said I have to come in again!!!!! Like I already had to come in twice because you couldn’t get the IUC out, now I have to come back because you didn’t consult me and just wrote me a RX?!? I’m so pissed at how everything has been handled. I’ll go anywhere else to get my birth control, but to SLO Planned Parenthood. That place has bad energy, and terrible service from top to bottom.
I made my appointment online which told me to provide my insurance information (which then said approved). I got in around 30 minutes early. Was still told to provide insurance information to then be told that they dont take my insurance and they had to call to get a verification and there was no one there to authorize the verification... I walked out thinking they werent going to help me then I forgot I have Medical as a secondary. I went back in and they said they will have to bill both providers if my first provider wasnt going to cover it... As far as I know, Medical will cover it... First of all, I filled out all my information online so Im not sure why Im having to provide everything again. Second, I just wanted to be check out and yet it became about insurance (I should have said I didnt have any insurance and it wouldnt have became an issue)... So I walked out. And they still proceeded to call me saying that they were looking for me and the billing situation was solved... But I was told that no one could authorize anything for me to be seen. PLEASE TAKE CARE OF YOUR ONLINE APPOINTMENTS! I should not have to provide my insurance again after it was approved when I scheduled the appointment online to be told in person that it was denied. I drove 40 minutes to the nearest one...
I love the service here! Rachel and lupe were extremely helpful with my IUD experience. Lupe helped with everything! And Rachel did an amazing job as well with the insertion process. Thank you guys :)
I cannot say enough good things about this place, the staff was amazing very professional & freindly, the office is clean & stocked, they offer so many wonderful services. I encourage anyone who can afford to to donate to this wonderful organization to do so. Im very fortunate to be able to receive such good medical care and i very much appreciate the staff & Planned Parenthood as a business.
Phenomenal staff and facility. Blown away with their services and compassion - they really care and I felt totally safe and respected. I felt they went above and beyond and I would highly recommend this center to everyone, they are very welcoming and inclusive.
They do NOT do ANY TEST all they gave me was pills not to get pregnant... Waist on time!!! 😡😡Customer service was horrible. They where very dismissive and didn’t pay attention to my issue.
Amazing caring staff who always made me feel safe by maintaining a judgement free atmosphere. Would absolutely recommend.
