Do not go here. It’s connected to a doctors office so there is only one room to get blood drawn and it is extremely cluttered and messy. The phlebotomist was rude and not helpful. I was the first patient there, got there right when they opened and was told “it’ll be a while” because they were not ready to be open.. I also asked her a few questions that she was unable to answer. I ended up leaving and going to a different quest. Highly don’t recommend this location. Not to mention the fish tank looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in months.
I showed up this morning right before the listed opening time, taking time out of my work day to get there, and someone from the attached doctors office showed up to open the door several minutes after the 9am opening time. I get inside, sign my name up and sit down to wait my turn. The person who opened from the doctors office then notifies us that the people from Quest just arent coming in today, she had just gotten a text (after opening). Complete waste of time, driving, parking, missing work just to have to go somewhere else and miss more work. So completely unprofessional. Honestly, the place looks so unclean I am almost a bit relieved. This place should be closed....permanently.
A little hard to find the right door. It is right on the corner, and once you ring the bell and write your name (the directions are clearly written once you walk in) someone comes to lobby to get you. I didn’t have to wait long, and the staff was very friendly and time-efficient. They tried to get my attention off my blood being taken too, which was very kind! The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because it appears disorganized, but I think they are organized enough to get the job done.
TLDR: Go somewhere else if at all possible. Unsanitary facility and overworked tech (who I dont count as responsible for the state of this place!), misread lab orders and denied necessary tests.I do not leave reviews normally, but this facility is very concerning and hazardous. I was the first patient to arrive for Quest Diagnostics and waited around 20 minutes to be seen. Upon being seen, I gave the lab tech my lab orders and my 24-hour urine sample (which I was instructed to bring to the facility by the doctor ordering). The tech seemed confused by my sample and put it in the sink while she printed the orders. With the 24-hour urine test, I needed blood testing done as well on the same day as drop off or else the entire test has to be redone. The tech claimed there was not a lab request for the blood test and took my urine and sent me back to waiting room. I called the ordering hospital which confirmed the order included the blood test and the hospital also faxed over another order for a blood test. After waiting another hour with only one other patient in the room, I asked the tech to please double check the order. She claimed there was no order. I asked for the urine back so that I could go elsewhere. I went back with her, and pointed on the paper where it said serum test xyz, and she still denied the test. Additionally, the room was not sanitary, and again, I was very surprised to see my urine sample sitting in the sink with no label. When I finally got my urine back, I drove to the lab at hospital where it was ordered and submitted it there, where it was placed in a biohazard bag (protocol!!) and labelled, and where I also had to sign over the urine. I wish I would have read reviews first before coming here. This does not seem to be an aberration from the norm. This facility is not clean, the space is not up to code, and the tech seems overworked. There was no else working with her to sign patients in or to answer phones. This is a failure of Quest, not the failure of a single tech. I will be looking into filing a complaint with the health department, as I was really surprised by the state of the room and lack of adequate space/supplies for accepting samples.
Unwelcoming, and unhygienic. I even spotted blood droplets on the floor. I was actually very lucky that the request for labs hadn’t gone through from my doctor yet because I felt entirely unsafe being there. Ended up going to their North Andover location later which was wonderful. If you have a car and can make the drive I strongly recommend going there instead. The Somerville location feels like they’ve entirely given up on it.
I feel bad having to report this because the lab technician was so nice but unfortunately, as I felt during the blood draw, he leaned on the needle and I ended up with this very dark bruise looking like I inject myself with drugs in my arm. As you can see from the photos, my anatomy is the easiest to draw blood from, and Ive never had bruising like this before. I also distinctly felt the moment where the dude drawing my blood pressed down on the needle too hard and cause this bruising. I would not go here for a blood draw again. Otherwise the wait was not very long and everything else seemed in order.
I have tried to give this place a chance after a few frustrating visits pre-COVID, but my most recent visit has made it so I cannot go back.During a recent visit, I arrived at 9AM, the receptionist walked in without a mask, then phlebotomist came out for the first patient WITHOUT a mask. In Somerville, it is required that all indoor locations wear masks and yet. This office also shares the space with a doctor who was simply walking around mask-less. This is both disappointing and unsafe considering the pandemic. I will not be going back and I do not recommend unless significant changes are made to their best practices. At the bare minimum considering COVID surely they should be setting up scheduled appointments instead of only be walk in. And staff at a medical facility should be wearing masks at all times. This is unacceptable.** They also did not wipe down the seat, no gloves, no efforts to maintain even basic cleanliness even if it was not a pandemic.
Location is up and coming part of Somerville. It is not Champs Elysees, Paris! But, the lady technician is very kind and nice. Smiled and put me at ease. We had a great conversation and did not felt any pinch and taking of my blood. My wife had a similar experience few weeks back.
The phlebotomist was not wearing his mask. He had to drink his coffee while I was getting my blood withdrawn. When I asked him to pull it up when he was taking my blood and inches from my face.....he leaned on the needle in my arm ... very painful. I had a dark purple bruise for a week. Very very unprofessional and worthy of a complain to the city and state Health Dept. I will never get my blood work here again.
Had to go for blood work. Place is disgusting and dirty seriously regretting allowing the blood draw. Dust was everywhere, broken cabinet . Floor was FILTHY. Do not go there. I never EVER leave bad reviews. Heres my 1st and it was deserving. YUCK!!
Don’t go here. The location is shared with a PCP and the quest Diagnostics is in a corner of the building. The space is cluttered, unkept, and unsanitary. I had to ask my attendant to wipe down the seat and area before we began. My attendant’s attitude left much to be desired. In a covid world the standards of quest diagnostics needs to be significantly higher. 0/5 if it was possible.
I have gone to this draw center a number of times and have never had an issue. The staff is friendly enough and gets the job done. Lab results are back in 2-3 days.
There is no contact number for this location, only robots answer the phone. How are you supposed to communicate anything if you can not talk to anyone? Awful establishment. No front desk is there. Person probably working. Awful hours. Long wait time.
EDIT: DO NOT COME HERE. YOU WILL WAIT OVER AN HOUR, JUST FOR THEM TO HURT YOU. i got a big ol hematoma. other reviewers here seem to have had similar experiences. i am on a high dose of a strong NSAID (meloxicam) and I was not warned of any problems or risks during the draw. However I had not taken the drug for over 3 days when my blood was drawn, so that wasnt why this injury happened, that was all bad phlebotomy. its just concerning me now because i uncovered the hematoma 1 hour after taking a 15 mg dose of meloxicam, and now it hurts like hell and appears to be growing/spreading . Horrible injury aside, there was a very long wait because they only see 1 patient at a time, no reception whatsoever just a piece of paper to sign in on, and unsanitary and highly cluttered conditions in the area where blood is drawn. A lot of very basic safety/ hygiene checks are just plain missing. Urine samples close by on the counter. I look away from blood draws to avoid fainting so I cant be sure of this but I dont recall the tech swabbing my arm before drawing blood. Staff were nice but this is unacceptable and horrific. The issues I have experienced with this place look an awful lot like a failing of Quest corporate to adequately invest in this location. Quest, dont you dare give me the same tired boilerplate copy-paste response youve given everyone else leaving negative reviews here. How about you try doing better instead? I will be filing a complaint with the local health department.
The website says it opens at 9am. Waited outside for 40 minutes and decide to call the call line, who provided she did not know why the location wouldn’t be open and mentioned the wait was because I did not have an appointment- but this location is WALK IN ONLY. If the location needs to close for any reason it should be listed on the website.
I was a bit nervous going to this location after reading the comments. I went later in the day and it was less busy ; I did not wait more than 10 minutes and everything went smoothly.
Location just off Union Square was easy to find. Technician was friendly and seemed knowledgeable.
Ive been waiting for an hour, and theres only one other person waiting. This is so weird and confusing
Very long wait times just to drop off samples.
Went in the morning, was in and out in 10 minutes, very friendly staff!
Did you give drug test and send to my company
Very unprofessional and disgusting.
Terrible Quest location.
