First and foremost let me say I absolutely love Dr. Hernandez. She is a very sweet doctor, straight to the point, and very seasoned on her career. However, theres a middle aged woman with dirty blonde hair at the front desk that makes me feel super uncomfortable. She doesnt talk TO me she talks AT me and I dont like it at all. I reported her to the supervisor but it really doesnt seem like my points were valid to her. The lady is prejudice and needs to take a class on diversity. A pregnant woman should never feel uncomfortable when going to a doctors visit. Had the nerve to tell someone we get people from all over coming here and basically referring to me. I try to get everyone the benefit of the doubt but she has offended me 3 twice already.

I have been coming to see Dr. Karges for almost 6 years now, after a very traumatic experience with a previous OBGYN and sadly a complicated medical history. Hands down, Karges is the best. She is sweet, smart, funny, and above all: she will work with you, root for you, and not force you to do anything you aren’t ready for. Can’t recommend enough.

I started coming here last February after 2.5 years of struggling to conceive & being told it was unexplained and todo IVF. I did research found out about charting/ Creighton model and NaPro Doctors. From the get go I always felt so comfortable and cared for here. I ended up having a laparoscopic surgery in May 2023 - stage 2 endo, blocked tubes and PCOS. Thank God I got a 2nd opinion - though I’m still not pregnant it put me at peace to get answers and to take steps to heal my body after the diagnosis. Dr. H takes her time explaining everything and their nurses/ front desk staff are pretty on top of things for the most part. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. H and Caritas!*they are faith based* So they will not prescribe contraceptives or perform IUI/ IVF.

I waited to make a review based on comprehensive care as opposed to just one appointment so it will be lengthy.First, Caritas is a faith based clinic. They make it known during your initial call, online, and throughout the clinic that they do not provide contraceptives, perform abortions, or do any sort of sterilization surgery. If this is something you do not agree with, it may be better to find a different clinic, however I will tell you that care anywhere else will be less than.Second, Caritas uses a certain type of tracking and charting for your cycles and the doctors WILL want you to use their method of tracking before they do any invasive procedures or go forward with fertility care. This method of tracking is unlike anything else and it tells you so much about your body with only visualization of mucus or absence of.What is 1 or 2 more months if you’ve been trying for several years? I suggest taking a chance to learn this method whether you’re actively trying or not. CrMS is wonderful! Now that we’ve covered that, I’ll tell you about my experience-I suspected I had PCOS for years, irregular cycles, unexplained weight gain, infertility, etc. and no MD would give me a diagnosis despite the signs. One told me “just because you have irregular periods doesn’t mean you have pcos,” another said all my symptoms point towards PCOS but she didn’t want to diagnose me. I was frustrated with the lack of care and wanted to have a child. By this point it had been 4 years of actively trying so my husband and I decided we needed to go see a reproductive endocrinologist (fertility doc) if we wanted to ever have children… we both had a work up and the reproductive endo told me it’s definitely pcos, a diagnosis I had been chasing for nearly a decade. The next step was IVF as my chance of becoming pregnant at my age (I’m only 29🥹) and having PCOS was nearly 3% every month. Something in my gut was telling me to wait. There were other options. I had no clue what those options were until my coworker and friend told me about NaProTECHNOLOGY and Caritas. They see infertility is a symptom of an underlying issue NOT an illness.I called Caritas in June 2023 got an appt in July 2023 with Dr Brinkman as he was the first available. I was hesitant with a male OB but let me tell you he has been nothing short of amazing. He is compassionate, knowledgeable, empathetic, intelligent, and he actively listens. He thoroughly explains things in detail and provides visuals as needed. When I first went to him with my concerns of PCOS and infertility, he discussed a few options with me and ultimately decided on an ovarian wedge resection. I had a few questions after my initial appointment with him so I called the clinic for clarification. He called me back personally to explain things in a bit more detail which was more than expected and more than what doctors typically do. Like I said, he’s amazing!I ended up having surgery October 2023, he did an HSG, took uterine cultures, something not even the reproductive endocrinologist did, and he wound up finding severe endometriosis and confirmed my diagnosis of PCOS.At my follow up appointment, he went through all the findings of my surgery, gave me a list of supplements to begin, and of course checked my incisions.I thank God every day that I came across Caritas and am under the care of Dr. Brinkman. A weight has been lifted off my shoulders, I’m not in pain every single day and inflamed as I was before.I drive 45 minutes out of my way JUST to go to the clinic. Every staff member, from the front desk, checkout, surgery scheduling, nurses, and everyone else in between are truly wonderful.THIS is what women’s care should look like. They are the epitome of quality care🤍

I recently had the misfortune of visiting a doctors office that left me utterly disappointed and feeling discriminated against. The entire experience was marred by the unprofessionalism of the staff and the lackluster treatment I received from the doctor. From the moment I stepped into the clinic, the staff exhibited an attitude that made me question their dedication to patient care. They were rude, dismissive, and seemed disinterested in addressing my concerns. Their lack of empathy was evident, and it made me feel unwelcome and unimportant. As I waited for my appointment, the waiting area was chaotic and disorganized. Patients were left waiting far beyond their scheduled appointment times, without any explanation or apology from the staff. It was evident that they had no regard for our time or well-being.When I finally got to see the doctor, the experience only went downhill. The doctor was condescending and seemed disinterested in listening to me. Instead of taking the time to understand my symptoms and concerns, they rushed through the examination and dismissed my questions as irrelevant. It felt as if my voice and experiences didnt matter to them. What made matters worse was the apparent discrimination I faced during the visit. I felt discriminated against as the doctor seemed to hold preconceived notions about individuals like me. Their demeanor and lack of respect were undoubtedly influenced by their discriminatory biases, making me feel marginalized and degraded.Additionally, the doctors diagnosis and treatment plan were questionable at best. They failed to thoroughly explain the medical condition I was facing and provided me with insufficient information regarding the prescribed medications. It was clear that they did not prioritize patient education and failed to establish a trusting doctor-patient relationship.Overall, my visit to this doctors office was a complete nightmare. The discriminatory treatment I experienced, coupled with the apathetic and unprofessional behavior of the staff, left me feeling disheartened and neglected. I would strongly advise anyone seeking compassionate and competent healthcare to avoid this clinic at all costs.

Im not sure why so many women had issues with this clinic. I was extremely nervous for my first two visits, the latter of which was a well womens exam which Ive never had before. The staff were kind, professional, and do clearly care. Dr.Brinkman was great, and I will admit I did not want to see a male doctor ever. Especially having never had exams like this before. Im sorry other women had issues here, but my experience was unpleasant (by nature, not because of anything they did), but the staff were kind and clearly tried to make me as comfortable as possible. I like that I wasnt pressured to do anything I felt was extra or unnecessary (in treating my situation). I think Dr.Brinkman is a bit blunt, but most doctors are that way. It did not come from a place of not carring, although I can see women interpreting it that way. Anyways, I would recomend this clinic, and if its your first time do not be nervous. Its important to recieve care.

I recommend this OBGYN to anyone. Dr. Karges is my doctor here and she has been so great. I did not feel rushed on my new patient visit, even though I’m sure she was busy. All my questions were answered. I came out of my appointment a lot more hopeful than coming in about my situation. Also, Mercedes was so nice! And the phlebotomist (I did not catch her name) was AMAZING. I have trouble when I do labs because I have a low pain tolerance when it comes to needles, but I didn’t feel a thing and she was quick and kind. Thank you!!

The office is completely unprofessional. After arriving to many appointments early and having to wait long periods, I arrived a little late today and was told that I would not be seen. The receptionist was neither kind or supportive with my situation and didn’t want to help me. Then, I spoke to the office manager Sherrie who was completely rude. Even when I was crying on the phone, she showed no empathy and kept on explaining about the hospital’s policy. I have no idea how she is allowed to be a person in charge with how rude she is.

I am beyond grateful to have been referred to Dr. Hernandez and the Caritas team. My husband and I had been struggling to conceive and we had seen two doctors previously (one a regular OB/GYN, the other a fertility specialist). Both doctors had prescribed fertility medication and after running lab work, ultrasounds, and HSG, they deemed our case as “unexplained infertility”. Both doctors offered/recommended IUI or IVF, but we didn’t want to go that route and they couldn’t help us any further. When we had a consultation with Dr. Hernandez, she allowed us to tell our story/background and when we were finished, replied “something’s definitely wrong”. I have never been so happy for someone to tell me something is wrong with me! She advised for me to have a diagnostic laparoscopy and said I might have endometriosis, but she could only confirm with surgery.Fast forward to yesterday, I went into surgery. Before my surgery, Dr. Hernandez had a quick chat with me and said she reviewed my lab work and ultrasounds from my previous doctors and confirmed that I have PCOS. I was absolutely SHOCKED that my other doctors had completely missed this diagnosis when it was right in front of them for months with their own documentation!!!!! The surgery confirmed that I had PCOS (including a laundry list of other issues) that she fixed during surgery.I don’t know if I’ll get pregnant or not after this surgery, but I am so thankful to have answers and to have some peace. I highly recommend everyone to go to Dr. Hernandez at Caritas for infertility issues and I will continue to recommend her to everyone.TLDR; My husband and I had “unexplained infertility”, other doctors couldn’t help us besides suggest IUI/IVF, Dr. Hernandez diagnosed me with PCOS with the lab work and ultrasounds of the previous doctors and conducted laparoscopic surgery to actually fix all of my reproductive system issues.

Dont get attach to your doctor bc before you know it, they dismiss you with no explanation. After being dismiss as a patient, I decided to call and ask why, finally...years later. They claimed I missed 9x. Which isnt true. Long story short, I remember one day, doing a complaint bc I had an appointment, was in time, checked in. They had me sign in on a clipboard and I went to sit down and wait. After 30 min. I went back and asked whats going on bc my appointment was 30 min ago. They asked me to wait....waited more, my husband then asked why I hadnt been seen. Just to find out that they forgot to check me in on the correct clip board. They had me sign in into another doctor from there. So then, they wanted me to reschedule. Why? I was in time. I was here waiting. I asked to see a manager but instead, they said, the Dr. will see me. So I let that go. I liked my doctor. But several of these incidents happened to me. Then I got very sick, called in advanced and yet, doesnt matter bc its used against you. Long story short, the claim of me missing that many times is so untrue and the fact that they claim that about me when, they themselves cancelled on me bc Dr. was at hospital delivering a baby, yeah, its was me the problem? They didnt apprciate a good patient. Because I was very considerate about calling in, rescheduling if needed and never did I do a no show. Never, yet they claim I did. Was it that time that they had me in the room, forgot I was there, after 1 hour and 14 min. waiting, I ask them whats going on. They looked surprised bc they forgot I was in the room? Bc I was the last appointment. I didnt make it a big deal bc it was in the last week of my pregnancy. The doctor didnt even apologizd, yet, they never checked me in but had me go in the room bc it was the last appointmen. Yes, if anything, I should have considered all the craziness they put me through and changed doctors but bc I was almost due, I didnt. Plus, I thought my doctor and I had good communication, but I was wrong bc she signed the dismissal letter. Yet, she told me, I was one of her favorite patient. Whats it worth, if they treat you carelessly in the end. Im good with God, he knows the truth. Manager there was rude, like she had a grudge on me for some reason. Not worth me trying to go back anyway. But be aware, dont let a clinic accuse you of things you didnt do. Dont let them treat you like you did something wrong, when you didnt. Plus, the manager had the indecency to claim, she remembers, yet, what do you remember? You lying about me? Holding a grudge against me? She was rude back then, and rude now. Not worth it. Ill find a better office and doctor elsewhere.

I have been seeing Dr. Hernandez and she is wonderful! I am so grateful for her time and the amazing care that I have received. I never feel rushed in an appointment and I feel like she absolutely cares about giving her patients the best care possible. The only issue I have with the office, is I have struggled to get responses from the nurse line and I often do not receive reminder phone calls about my upcoming appointments. I feel like the doctors here are incredible and so very worth it, but the office staff and their organization could be improved. I still think it is worth the small inconveniences to see this wonderful doctor, and to know that I am being provided prolife care, and that nothing recommended will go against my personal beliefs.

I came here looking for help with infertility (we had been trying for 14 months already) and was told to sign up for their version of a cycle tracker and to track for two more months before any treatment could be started. I had already been tracking for over a year. Waste of my time. Dr Brinkman obviously has no idea the mental toil each month takes on a woman trying to get pregnant. Don’t come here if you actually want treatment and help having a baby.

EDITED TO ADD: ***upgrading to 4 stars from 1. After years since my first bad experience, I tried again to get in the practice as a patient, and this time, they called me back, scheduled me with no problem. Now that Im in their system, I have had no issues. All the nurses are so kind, and I get automated reminders of appointments and calls. Dr. Hernandez is just wonderful. The Napro approach to womens health is so much better than all typical OBGYN practices. *** As a pro-life Catholic, I really wanted to go to Caritas. Their website says that they accept my insurance. I called and spoke to someone early in a pregnancy to see if they were accepting new patients, and the answer was yes. They took down my information and asked lots of specific questions, then said they would call me back to schedule an appointment. I was expecting to establish care within days. (I had a miscarriage previous to that pregnancy and REALLY wanted to see a doctor ASAP.) After 2 weeks and multiple calls and voicemails left on my end, no one EVER called me back to schedule an appointment. I have a friend who is a current patient who also called on my behalf to see if she could refer me or to see if they had my information. Worried that I would have another miscarriage, I went ahead to a different doctor after not hearing back from them for WEEKS during a crucial time in any pregnancy. Very disappointed in the seeming incompetence of the staff.

I had just moved to the area and my appt was for 9 am. Apparently they wanted me there right at 830 because as I was pulling near to the facility on my GPS at 835, they actually called me which then turned my GPS off. I have 3 children and pregnant with my 4th and was not felt welcomed at all, as when I arrived at 845 and was told if they didnt have my paperwork at 9 am, I wouldnt be seen. Its admirable to keep patients on time, but this was a little excessive. Lets not make the patient feel their care is unimportant! Then when I meet Dr. Karges, she basically tells me Im overweight, 35 and high risk and that because my last child had a broken collar bone upon delivery that I should get a c section. Hmmmm, after 3 vaginal births regardless of tears or not, not sure how a c section is necessary. Obviously my body has had 3 successful vaginal births without forceps or vaccuum extractions, so why subject me to a c section when I have 3 other kids to tend to? That to me is lack of experience and seeming to only care for her liability. So for rude staff and lack of experience (she is only 35ish like myself and probably fresh out of internship)- I dont give a great review at all

Dr Kathren kargesBe aware! this is the most dishonest Dr ever. she only cares about her pocket. She intentionally put me on progostrone for no apparent reason even at 33 weeks with 400 mg daily dose . Then at 34 weeks of my pregnancy she did an altrasound at her clinic and she told me the amniotic fluid was too low at 2 cm. so she made me stay that night In a delivery room with an Iv and by the morning the hospital checked the amniotic fluid and it was 13 cm and got released from the hospital. I had an appointment two days later and after the ultrasound she said that my amniotic fluid was only 1.9! And wanted to deliver the baby after giving it steroids because the lungs wont be fully developed. My husband was with me and told her that its impossibe for the amniotic fluid to drop to this level without it leaking outside of her body, and that we needed another ultrasound for a second opinion! That did not go well with her and she kept saying YOU WILL LOOSE THE BABY if you dont deliver it soon! This was my 3rd pregnancy and I just know everything was fine and she was using a dirty tactic to scare me and my husband. So we went to the hospital for another ultrasound test and the surprise was that the hospital said the amniotic fluid was around 8 which was normal! She did not believe the hospital results and came running to me with a flustered look on her face and she did the ultrasound yet again for the 3rd time and this time she said that the fluid is now 4 and that she does not trust the hospital numbers. She said thats it get her ready for delivery and put her on IV fluid and steroid and in the mornig I will do the ultrasound my self and dont let anyone else do it to the nurse. Me and my husband refused to accept her decision and wanted to get another opinion from a specialist in fetal medicine at memorial Herman hospital. The specialist said after the ultrasound that the amniotic fluid level was fine at 9 cm which is similar to what the hospital measured! At this point me and my husband realized that the doctor was only interested in delivering the baby based on her schedule even though it may risk me and babys health! We switched doctors and the new doctor was shocked on the treatment we got for the first 8 months and the unessecarly progesterone pills she been given me for no apparent reason other than to collect money for unessecarly testing.

I wasn’t going to write a comment on this page, but after my experience with my second child I felt like I needed to. TCH treated me with the upmost care and actually cared about my birth plan and was patient with my body and my progress. The whole process was very healing.Again wasn’t going to post anything, but I know of people who have had good experiences and bad experiences here. I have never experienced a doctors office that made me feel stupid or left me in tears almost every visit or phone call like this one. And thats saying a lot since my ob before this asked me if I just pull and pray as birth control after I explained natural family planning AND he got mad at me when he couldnt break my water, so thats saying something. Theres nothing prowoman here that Ive seen, except shallow attempts to seem prowoman in office only. Theres no way to talk to a doctor unless youre in the office which is beyond frustrating and almost alienating if you have a real concern or problem. And theres zero compassion unless youre in the office, which is a strange dichotomy to struggle with in the business of helping people. And the one birth I had with them was by far my worst, out of 5. The dr wasnt even in the hospital. Nurse caught the baby after yelling at me not to push because they left my pitocin on full drip and let my epidural run out and had to do paperwork first. There was no one in my corner. And now Im 8 months out from my last visit and have moved 4.5 hours away and I cant even get a refill on my ppd meds for a month to help me establish care here because its been almost a year and she would need to see me So Im left here with a very short timeline and almost no budget to get help, because its expensive to move, or I get to go through withdrawal. Because ppd apparently isnt THAT big of a deal or lasts that long (would love to post some napro articles on it here...). Its so hard to write this review because NAPRO is amazing, but I cant in good conscience recommend this office.

I was filling out paperwork before my first appointment with Caritas Complete Womens Care when I ran across a form titled Informed Consent for Health Care. I almost just skimmed and signed (this was one of 15 pages) but I am so glad I read the full page. The document clarified the fact that the doctors at Caritas Complete Womens Care are pro-life healthcare providers. This means that they refuse to prescribe any form of contraceptive for any reason (including birth control pills). This also means that they refuse to perform what they deem medically indicated abortions. A medically indicated abortion refers to a situation in which a pregnancy must be terminated because the mother is at risk of severe health complications or death should the pregnancy be continued. Putting a womans life at risk in favor of continuing a pregnancy is reckless and dangerous. Had I known that Caritas Womens Care is this type of practice, I would never have made the appointment. This information should be posted prominently on their website, but it is not.
