They totally stuffed up our sperm collection and storage, they didn’t tell us, but we realised there was a problem. We were then completely ghosted when we asked for an explanation of what happened. There was no apology, no offer to fix the problem or offer to refund monies paid. They just stopped communicating. How they could stuff up the most basic of processed is beyond belief.
After a referral I was contacted by this facility but I had already made an apt with another in the area. After a not so great consultation experience I reached out to this facility and the coordinator was ANYTHING but helpful. The FIRST thing she went over was PAYMENT and INSURANCE emphazing the member responsibility and that all payment will be the responsibility of the member even prior to billing insurance. Now I work for insurance so I know what my resp would be and that this would be covered but before even checking name in the system the FIRST thing was to ensure I know my member responsibility as if we all dont know fertility cost PRIOR to even making that dreaded phone call. This facility appears to be chasing a dollar vs the interest and intent of the patient calling. This was a HORRIBLE first experience as clearly they dont value they patients but only the the dollar signs that come the second they get you in their door. The women who first called me was an angel and so sweet that is why I wanted to give them a try but the new patient coordinator needs to be in another field as a fertility clinic needs compassionate and caring employees as patients are already dealing with enough when they make that call. Long story short dont be a dollar in their bank find a facility that puts your needs first and has genuine care in patients and their goals. VA has been the worst experience for medical you guys really need to do better as this was a painful phone call
This place was utterly terrible. List:1) They enabled my partner to move forward without me even knowing my partner was doing IVF, and they ridiculed me and treated me like crap the entire time after I found out. 10s of thousands were spent, 100s if you count what insurance spent before I even knew. Partly on us, we keep separate finances but work as a team. My partner is bad at finance, researching firms, logistics and planning (but great at other things). The doctor dresses like some anti-straight white male nutjob, and her staff usually acts the same.2) They gleefully had her do multiple rounds of egg retrieval, until the insurance ran out, without bluntly saying the quality was too low. We did manage to get one medium quality embryo to their credit.3) It took forever to get anything done or an appointment for anything. Its just her (Robin), despite it being named like some sort of multi doctor clinic. When you did talk to her, she just talked AT you and then hung up. I am highly skilled at dealing with such people and managed to get one max two questions in at each video appointment, but she usually did not answer the question asked exactly and changed the subject immediately.4) Nobody explained her notes, which were highly technical and the only source of information on the process. At least one of the doctors she referred us to was also grossly incompetent, did not read the chart before performing surgery, lied about chances until the day of surgery, and had not read an academic paper in decades. He was using outdated techniques.5) Her pricing scheme is predatory. Everything is billed separately, and she doesnt do half the stuff she charges for.We left and went to a multi-clinic fertility network full of competent doctors and other personnel, that had a package rate with partial guarantees. She was pregnant almost instantly and it is going great.
They are so friendly and care so much they have by far the best sonograms with clear ultrasounds and clean rooms and are very gentle and caring with every move they make i highly recommend this place to anyone who asks my little girl is due in June because of them. You can tell that Everyone including the front desk are passionate about what they do they celebrate with us when we got the positive and continued to want to see her grow with us. This review doesn’t do them justice they are great.
Experience the Blessing of Outstanding Care at New Hope with Dr Robin and Her Team! At New Hope, you can rest assured that you and your loved ones will be taken care of in the best way possible. Dr Robin and her staff always go above and beyond to provide exceptional care that feels like family. Every patient is treated with the utmost importance and attention, regardless of how many other patients are being treated.
My husband and I were referred to New Hope by my OB and I am SO glad we were. We initially met with Dr. Robin, but ended up working with Whitney Cotton and it was a fantastic experience the whole time. We have tricare select, so we did have to pay out of pocket, but they offer a discount and financing options to military families. Our very first day we were sat down with a financial counselor and she quoted us on our treatment plan. All prices were true to the quote and we only had one small mishap where we paid a little extra for a visit (we had already paid a deposit), but the front staff added it to our next visit and it all evened out. Dr. Robin was very affirming and gave us so much hope in our first consultation and then Whitney helped us get pregnant for the first time in the two years we had been trying. She was knowledgable, explained everything in detail to us and it felt like we were old friends. Its a long and sensitive process and I felt like they handled us with amazing care and we are very excited to be pregnant with our first child. Whitney is the best and we highly highly recommend her care.
This place started out ok but went downhill after NEW HOPE changed to the new company. I went through several test, then went for my iui procedure. Soon as it was time for my procedure they tried to make me pay an additional $500 for counseling because the new name had other guidelines. After a failed procedure nothing was offered but to try again! After spending nearly $10,000! Congrats to the people who are successful on the first try but what about others who are not? It’s all about money and once they get it they can care less after the procedure is done if it’s successful or not.
I interviewed multiple clinics before deciding on NHC. Every patient is different. When doing fertility treatments you NEED to be educated and ask the tough questions. All of staff provide incredibly detailed and individualized care. As with any clinic, yes.. it will expensive. They truly care and are invested in each patients journey. I do feel they may be overworked occasionally as they take on many patients at time, but it hasn’t taken away from the level of care they provide. Hannah, Whitney, Shawna, Tara, Ericka, Willa, Lauren, Jan, Mandy in embryology A++ all nurses back in surgery, and every woman at the front of the house have become a huge part of my life. After my miscarriage I was checked up on multiple times, shared tears with some and really no stone was left unturned. Dr. Robin listens to all of my concerns and educates me when I ask the right questions. She was able to diagnose my PCOS after 4 years of “unexplained infertility” and everyone created the perfect protocol for me which resulted in my very first pregnancy. Quickly then got to the bottom of my spontaneous miscarriage and have a new protocol to combat these issues. Moral of the story is if you are looking for individualized care and success, this clinic is worth paying a little extra than competitors. I lucked out and I’m incredibly happy where I am. Thank you to all the incredible women here who have changed my life these past 8 months.
I have such mixed feelings about this place. Honestly I can’t stand anyone at this company except for Dr Robin! I give full credit of these babies we were blessed with to God and not to this clinic. The main thing that made this journey stressful (more stressful than a situation like this would naturally be) was the constant reality that the right hand didn’t know what the left hand was doing. I would have to talk to 5 people to get the correct information and sometimes they would give conflicting information. This is CRITICAL information they need to get it right! People in the office would be rude when I asked questions, if you as a customer are spending 30k+ I think you deserve to be able to ask questions without feeling like a burden. It’s a confusing, emotional and overwhelming process to go through. The staff should have empathy and understanding because they know every patient there is going through a difficult situation. The entire staff was so hot and cold, very frustrating. At the end of the day, I’m so thankful for these babies but I wonder if we could have taken an easier route at a different clinic. When services were first explained to us we discussed a fresh ivf transfer and a deferred transfer. We specifically asked if we do the fresh and it didn’t work would we be able to pay the extra money to switch to the deferred package. We were assured yes. (One of the items on the deferred package was 3 months of embryo storage, stand alone price is $2000 for 12 months, then $900 every year after) A year later we find out that was incorrect information. It’s either one or the other. Every transfer cycle after the initial one is a frozen cycle. So since we did a frozen cycle and did not originally pick the deferred option we did not get the included 3 months of embryo storage even though we were originally told we would. So we got a bill for the 2nd year 3 months earlier then we expected because of the incorrect information that we were given. The staff would not uphold what was told to us and were unapologetic for the confusion. So, I had a sonohsg and an endobiopsy prior to my fresh transfer. After it didn’t work I wanted answers. I asked about if everything looked good from these tests. Turns out, we paid $350 for the endobiopsy and they are suppose to send a sample to a lab to check for infections, etc. They charged us for this procedure but DID NOT take a sample. We would have never known this if I wouldn’t have pushed for answers. They offered to do another one without charge (obviously since they charged me the first time for something they didn’t do.) Turns out I did have an infection. So if they had done the endobiopsy correctly the first time, and caught the infection, my transfer would have most likely worked. Unfortunately there’s no way to prove that. There were multiple times that I had to double check medication information because I was getting conflicting information, having your medication dosages correct is CRITICAL for this process. After my first failed fresh transfer I kept having to defer to the following month until after 2-3 months of them pumping me full of meds and the timing always being off I made the decision to take 6 months off of the meds to let my body reset before doing another transfer. Ultimately I did 2 Hysteroscopies, 1 cyst drainage, 1 1/2 endobiopsies, and 2 sonohsgs. There is no way to prove that my first transfer would have worked if they hadn’t made a mistake, however, everything went perfectly until that point. That transfer failing took our price tag from aprox $15k to almost 40k once it was all said and done. Anyone who is starting this process please be careful. This is a stressful, emotional time and you need a company that is on your side, will give you all the information, and make you feel at ease instead of giving you anxiety over if they’re doing their jobs right.
I can not say enough amazing things about New Hope. My husband and I started coming here in November of 2020. Every single person we encountered was amazing, helpful and encouraging. I only saw Dr. Robin a few times, but she truly renewed our hope. Jan, her nurse practitioner was absolutely incredible. She was kind and caring and she truly listened to us. After 1 visit with new hope, my PCOS diagnosis was confirmed and I had all of my blood work done to see what was happening with my body. I had been to 4 different doctors over the past 5 years trying to get what I got in 1 visit here. We are so grateful for New Hope and all of the amazing people that work there.
My husband and I lost our first child in 2009 to an ectopic where I lost my right tube. Apparently, my left tube was blocked, and they supposedly unblocked. From that year on, we couldnt get pregnant. Changed gynos a dozen times because I was just treated like I was nothing, and nobody took it seriously. We tried an ivf place in 2016, which was such a disaster and paid out of pocket. Our baby grew great, then they pitbembryo in, and it didnt take. Fast forward to 2020, and moving to Virginia, I found a wonderful gyno. I found out I had endometriosis and had a huge cyst removed through laparoscopic. A year later, Im still not pregnant and try a different ivf place who just took my money for 2 years. I had my other tube removed to hopefully have better success with ivf. The day we were supposed to start everything, I get a call saying nothing was covered anymore with insurance, and Id have to pay everything out of pocket. They claimed they sent me a portal message, which they did not. They would never call back or answer questions. So my heartbroken once again, and I was ready to give up. Then I found Dr. Robin. Its been wonderful from the beginning, and I am a pain because of all Ive already been through. She has done everything she can to make it affordable for whats not covered by insurance. They answer my questions and have a procedure that will make it a better chance to conceive. I have so much hope and confidence in this place. Everyone is wonderful. Im currently in the process and hopefull it will work. But Dr. robin and the staff are doing everything to make it happen. I highly recommend them.Update after all the tests and fake promises of being told I had 5 on 1 side and 4 follicles on the other. I get a call that they want me to do 2 more months of shots. Ive had leg and sciatica pain ever since the one procedure, and they just kept trying to add more tests that my insurance wouldnt cover. I had such high hopes for this place it was really just fake promises they seem to do to get you in the door.
Bottom Line Up Front: Run away. Do not go here. If you are reading this review, there is no doubt that you and your partner are desperate for success and you want to make the best decision for your family. You can receive better care at lower prices with with other practices that actually care about you.The New Hope Center is a waste of time, money and most of all, HOPE. Dr. Robin will try to win you over by calling you “sweetheart” during your consult, and then you won’t see her or talk to her again until retrieval day. That is if you make it to retrieval, as cancelled stimulation cycles seem to be a recurring issue. Dr. Robin herself told us that our cancelled cycle was a first time occurrence, but we have since found out that it happens often.Look at their published results, which are much lower than the national average. These results will likely get worse with their revolving door of staff in the embryology department. Expect to be treated like a number, and to receive no specialized care or protocol for any individual circumstances. Expect to be overprescribed on expensive medication, even exceeding dosage recommendations from the manufacturer.Expect an absolute nightmare dealing with the billing and financial department, including patronizing comments from the coordinator pretending to “know” you and your partner. Expect to spend hours of unnecessary time on the phone chasing down answers to unexpected bills. Expect to be mislead on coverage and pay more than you expected. Expect not to be advocated for in any way that might look out for the patients best interest. Expect for this journey to become even more expensive than you thought.Hopefully this review saves at least one couple from making the mistake we did, during what we know is a very vulnerable and anxiety ridden time. My wife and I have since achieved INCREDIBLE positive results after one cycle with another clinic (in Charlottesville, VA), which in our mind can only be explained by the complete INEPTITUDE that we experienced at New Hope. New Hope will do their best to blame any issue or failure on the patient, but available empirical evidence coupled with our experience suggests that the blame resides squarely on New Hope’s shoulders.
First of all Dr. Robin is amazing no problem with that. The one star comes from the billing manger not doing her job. Doesn’t want to talk to patients about issues. Me and my wife signed a contract for $20 storage in 2019 before new hope went up on storage fees. We have it auto pay the $20 a month since we started. We got a phone call Nov 2,2021 about we have a past due balance for storage fees. I explained we didn’t receive anything from them about it but of course they sent it in the mail ( easy way out ) for them. I even called and updated the card on file the beginning of this year because it expired in march and never told there was a balance or storage went up. My wife checked the portal nothing. I even called the front desk today on 11/5/2021 and they could not see a balance due. The billing manager won’t talk to us at all supposedly that the billing lady Meredith told me over the phone and in email. I hope Dr. Robins reputation don’t get ruined from people not doing there job.
After relentless searching for answers, with hope rapidly fading away, we stumbled upon a beacon of light in the form of Dr. Robin and her staff. With their expertise and aid from above, our prayers were answered when they identified an issue that required surgery - ultimately resulting in success with IVF cycles and now our beautiful daughter is six months old! Our immense gratitude will never dissipate for this incredible team who has gifted us such joy beyond measure.
Would not recommend this facility. My first experience with a fertility clean, and it was horrible. I was told several things were wrong with me, and it was suggested I do IVF instead of iui, because of the issue. It was also suggested that I have one of my Fallopian tubes removed. I went to another facility and was retested, and I have none of the issues I was told I had before. They kept moving my egg retrieval date back, which resulted in me loosing 21 out of 27 eggs. I had a miscarriage and no one called me to discuss my lab work. When I said something to the nurse about the miscarriage she asked if I wanted to schedule my next cycle. I asked to dispose of my last embryo, because I didn’t trust that the embryo was of good quality, and I honestly wonder if they actually disposed of it. Very money hungry. I only saw DR. Robin 3 times during the entire process.
I do not recommend this place. You rarely get through to anyone at this facility, and if you do they dont pass messages along. Medications were not called in. Lab results were never shared. I had to call repeatedly to get any sort of results. I had labs done in September that I still havent heard anything about, but it was urgent that I had them done since my numbers were much higher than the normal range for the liver function test. Dr. Robin gave me her personal number since the front desk is good for nothing, but youre lucky if she ever calls you back. Its Dr. Robins responsibility to make sure these things get done, but she blames her staff. They arent even open until 5pm like the posted hours state. They put on a pretty face with their office and promises, but all I got was false hope since they dont care about anything but money. The last straw was getting a final notice in the mail when I never got a previous bill. Im glad my husband and I pulled our records from there. Hopefully well have better luck at a different facility.**New Hopes reply to this review is false. Just read other negative reviews. They never once tried to initiate communication with my husband and I.***
If I could give zero stars I would. Lots of confusion before things became seemingly straightforward. Side eye. Too much money spent. No baby at the end of it. RUN
After much contemplation, we decided to pursue surrogacy. Navigating the journey was daunting at first but with New Hope and Dr Robins help, our experience became enjoyable rather than overwhelming. With clear communication every step of the way, they shined a light on an otherwise dark path for us.
Please do not use this place. After the initial appointment we did have hope that this was the place to help us have our baby. After that we lost all hope! They will promise you lots of things, but not deliver. After not getting responses to questions, we escalated. We got calls and messages for 1 day, then nothing again. We had been asking if they received our medical records from another fertility clinic, they said they had not yet. Then 3 weeks after we met with them, the sent us the form to actually get the records! It is a disorganized mess there, and they have lower success then the other main center in Hampton Roads. This place will do nothing but give you stress, and cost you money. By the way it is much cheaper to use other places. Save yourself heartache, and stay away!!In response to New Hopes reply. You say to call anytime and would love to talk to us. You should speak to Dr Robin, as she banned anyone from speaking with us. We just asked if we could get a refund for what services we did not use. Ask around, many professionals in the area will warn you about New Hope.
The two stars are for the kindness of the doctors and 2 of the receptionists. I believe that Doctor Robin truly does care about her patients and has a vested interest in helping them conceive. Outside of that, however, my experience at The New Hope Center was an absolutely horrific nightmare. I do not have the time nor energy to recount each unfortunate incident that occurred while I was under their care, but to summarize: a year after my miscarriage, I am still trying to get my account credit reimbursed to me and get my medical records sent to the Jones Institute. It takes an act of God to get through to anyone I need in the office. Leaving a message is superfluous, as I can count on one hand the times I have received a call back in the 1.5 years I have been contacting them. All contact is by my persistent efforts. In fact, I was prompted to finally write this long overdue review after having made numerous attempts to contact ANYONE in the office for the past month and now hearing a disconnected/busy tone any time I call their main office number. While I was a patient at New Hope, very important times of my cycle came and went without being scheduled for necessary appointments due to the scheduling mess-ups/lack of return calls/negligence of the office staff. I have no hard feelings toward the doctors, but for your sanity during an already very difficult time of life (fertility issues are stressful enough and need not be compounded by any added stress), I suggest looking elsewhere for fertility care. Best wishes to you in your fertility endeavors!
I had the most amazing first time experience first for fertility assessment with the staff of The New Hope Center. Dr Robin and the RNs never made me feel rushed or just like a number especially when my stress level is high for even considering fertility options. If it wasnt for me to live and work overseas, this would have been my first and only choice with the most amazing experience of my life: having a baby (by myself). THANK YOU!Update on the second visit: no changes in excellent service.Outcome: no pregnancy (yet)This provider does not offer fertility packages Shared Risk 100% Refund Program.
I’m sad to be giving NHC a one star because I freaking love Dr. Robin, she helped us bring a little baby girl into the world. Which is why trying NHC a second time wasn’t even a question. From the beginning of our first pregnancy the staff was amazing, AVAILABLE, AWARE and gave INFORMATION. The second time around the experience as been HORRIBLE. They don’t call back, the receptionist delivers messages incorrectly, and they are not very helpful to someone who has been in limbo waiting to see if they are still pregnant. When we were coming out of our pockets paying we got phone calls all the time about scheduling our appointment now we paid up and the calls stopped. It got so bad my wife had to call them to make an appointment they said they were gonna call her to make. Or reaching out to overnight staff and NO RESPONSE back not EVER. To never calling. Then imagine having to call back asking what your test results were. Being told someone will call you back AND NO ONE CALLS YOU BACK. I’m not blaming the results on them but the whole experience makes me really uneasy about everything from the time they told my wife to take her birth control at the wrong time all the way to the way they treated us at the end. I’m honestly afraid to even ask my wife to try with the embryos we have left.
Dr Robin and the staff at New Hope are truly a blessing! They take such amazing care of all of their patients! They will treat you like family from the moment you meet them! It doesn’t matter how many patients they have, each one is important. If you are struggling to start a family, Dr robin will do everything in her power to make your dreams come true! Call them today! ❤️
Dr. Robin is a dream. Compassionate, empathetic, caring and kind. Most of the staff I have delt with have been amazing. The phlebotomist (her name escapes me) is so very sweet and easy to talk to. Hannah, One of the ultrasound techs is fast ,efficient, and always a pleasure. Heather, one of the nurses has pretty much been my right hand girl dealing with all of my problems. Barbara and Virginia, the RN’s in the operation side are caring and compassionate and made my procedure day very comfortable. I have had a lot of complications after my egg retrieval, no ones fault I might add, just my body, and the care I have received is top notch. My only critique I could give is that I feel like they could maybe use a few more staff members to help alleviate delayed responses to questions. This place is very busy and theseGirls are working their butts off every day. I highly recommend Dr. Robin and the New Hope Center.
Hands down, Dr. Robin is beyond amazing! My Husband and I met with her on Friday, 5-31-19 and just by our consultation and ultrasound we had with her, she was able to give us answer that we have been longing for for the past 4 plus years. She was very hands on and explained everything to us as to what needed to happen.Dr. Robin and her staff were very friendly and caring. This is literally what my Husband and I needed after having such a difficult time with growing our family. We cannot wait until our next appointment next week!
More like NO HOPE center.... Dr Robin misdiagnosed my husband saying he could not have a baby. TWICE. I took the test results to a male infertility specialist who was floored by Dr Robins diagnoses. He did his own test, the results were the same numbers, but the test came back as NORMAL... so whatever measurement Dr Robins has is not the numbers to go by. The male specialist referred me to Jones Institute and I just had such a better experience there. Dr Robin was all criticizing my weight and pushing expensive procedures on me. I am now 8 months pregnant WITH my husbands baby, it costs me probably 1/4 New Hope charges for the same procedures.Note: When I was 7 weeks pregnant, Erica from New Hope emailed me asking if I was ready to move forward with the sperm donor that Dr Robin and I talked about a year before. I respond back with all this information about Dr Robin being wrong about my husband. Erica said she forwarded this to Dr Robin, but I never heard a peep from Dr Robin. Shame on her. Also during the time the New Hope was testing my husband, Dr Robin suggested Vitamins that were $200 a month for 6 months to help him. The vitamins supposedly did not work and New Hope also got a kickback on them.
We owe a huge debt of gratitude to Dr. Robin and her staff. After numerous fruitless tries with another specialist, we were referred by a friend. Dr. Robin quickly identified a problem that necessitated surgery, allowing us to have a successful IVF cycle. Because our daughter is now almost six months old, I will be eternally grateful.
I will start by saying that Dr. Poe-Zeigler, the sole physician at the practice, seems a very knowledgeable and caring provider, and I believe she has the best intentions for her patients. Unfortunately, the office and support staff at New Hope are a detriment to her business, and I would NOT recommend using New Hope.My wife and I were undergoing fertility treatment and we have a consult with Dr. Poe-Ziegler, then met with a financial counselor at New Hope to go over all of the anticipated costs of treatment. We proceed with several rounds of IUI, and along the way, experienced several disappointments. These include prescriptions not being called in on time, the office failing to call us with lab results, lack of information from the staff, and general incompetence. With fertility treatments, time is often important when starting medications or getting ultrasounds. My wife was continuously calling the office seeking treatment directives that were supposed to be given to us. You will have to be a strong self advocate here as you will be dropped off their radar.Additionally, we have several billing issues with the clinic. There are services included in the costs we paid to New Hope that we separately received bills for from Lab Corp, even though they were included. This took several more phone calls and my explaining to multiple staff members of their error, and was sometimes fixed and sometimes had to be followed up on as they were not corrected, even though the staff assured me they would be.The last straw, without going into more detail, came with yet another billing dispute, which was apparently misquoted to us by New Hope (yet another point to lack of information/transparency.) After inquiring and speaking to 5 different staff members at New Hope, all of which seemed less than competent enough to resolve this customer service issue despite the multitude of issues we already had, they all said they would get back to me, but never did. I (a male who knew absolutely nothing about fertility treatment before starting at New Hope) even had to explain some aspects of treatment to staff members, who work at a fertility clinic! Then they stopped returning my voicemails and were screening my calls. Eventually I was contacted by a Linda Frederick, was is apparently a consultant for New Hope, who again, failed to provide any resolution and never got back to me when she said she would.Unfortunately, the office here is not capable of successfully running a medical clinic, nor providing any level of customer service, which is a shame as we really liked Dr. Poe-Ziegler and wish her success. Hang around the employees talking for a few minutes and you will certainly catch on to their frustrations as well. Their are several family members working in the office too, which may make it hard for the business to make sure capable people are employed there.
My first time visiting the hope center was with dr Perez and that was a year ago. Hes since moved and I have dr Robin and shes amazing. She really cares and she can give you a womans view of things that will better fit your situation. Shes also very sociable and I love that about her. Her personality makes it a joy to keep coming back. No complaints
Dr. Robins is definitely a five star doctor . She is engaging and compassionate. The reason for my writing, however, is her office staff. Her clinical staff is nice, but slow . My biggest issue is the front office. I left my consultation with orders for multiple tests , appointments , and referrals, but when I checked out the girl told me I didnt need any follow ups . After pushing she finally agreed to schedule me for my next apt with yep tests.. come the day of my appointment and I hear the clinical stage arguing about testing not being scheduled, and she never obtained a preauthorization for any of it .. so I came in for no reason but instead of explaining her mistake she lied right to my face about waiting on a schedule. I left with having only a pap done and none of my tests . I was then told she would call by end of day to schedule my tests that were already supposed to have been done .. three days later I have yet to hear from her . I work for a surgeon and have a limiting schedule so as much as I love the doctor, I may have to go to another practice with honest , knowledgeable and capable office staff. No matter how great the clinic is , if I cant get in for my scheduled tests, its a waste .
My consultation went great and was hopeful Dr. Robin could help me. But it’s pulling teeth for someone to actually communicate with you. You ask for people to call back and follow up with you but clearly messages aren’t being passed along as I am still awaiting follow up from labs at the beginning of the month about what can be done about them and also pending lab results I was told were in on my visit in 1/25/2021 but dr and Pa have yet to review them and should call me that afternoon and called during week and still no return. I am hoping communication can get better as things move forward but only time will tell.
We can’t say thank you enough. We have been blessed with a beautiful baby girl because of Dr. Robyn and her staff. We had a long journey (this is a marathon, not a sprint) and everyone treated us like family. We felt absolutely loved and cared for through this process and would recommend them to anyone.
We highly recommend The New Hope Center. We tried Dr. Jill Floods practice first, with no success, and then went to see Dr. Robin & her staff after trying to get pregnant for almost 3 years. Dr. Robin, Tammy, & all of her staff were so friendly and supportive - like family! We had previous testing which revealed that it was an issue with me, not my husband preventing us from getting pregnant. Dr. Robin tried artificial insemination first, with no success. Very soon afterward, they suggested that we try IVF. My husband is a physician, and was asking many technical questions which were answered promptly & patiently. We were fortunate enough to conceive twins via IVF on our first try!! We could not be happier with the service & attention we received at The New Hope Center. We have beautiful healthy twin boys thanks to Dr. Robin.
I want to preface this review by saying that Dr.Robin is absolutely amazing. You can tell how much she cares about her patients and she will design a perfect protocol for your needs. She is very individualized and I simply could not have asked for a better doctor. If this review was only about her she would get 5+ stars hands down. Now with that being said the majority of the staff is a disappointment. The ultrasound tech has no personality and looks at you as if shes extremely annoyed whenever you ask a question or make a comment. She will make you dread getting ultrasounds because she knows how to just suck any bit of joy out of the air. The nurses are mediocre at best. The on call nurse is extremely stern and you will not get a warm feeling from her, so if you have to call her for a medication question prepare yourself for a bit of a lecture prior to getting the help you need. Basically the vibe I got is that once you get pregnant you arent really a priority anymore and they dont want to be bothered by you. Also, you will not get ultrasound pictures. They give you a little flash drive and load your pictures to that but refuse to print even a single hard copy. While I am appreciative of the flash drive this baffles me a bit. After spending $20,000+ its too much trouble to print a single photo straight from the machine? On a more positive note I was very impressed with the two embryologists. They are both very knowledgeable, helpful, and they know what theyre doing. I was also very impressed with the financial advisors and those who work for Lab Corp. No complaints there. Bottom line is...if you want to get pregnant this is the place to go. Id much rather deal with people with attitudes who know what they are doing than compassionate people who dont. It is a price Im willing to pay for a successful pregnancy. Just dont speak or ask the grouchy ultrasound tech any questions during your ultrasounds and just count down days until you are released to your regular OBGYN. It will all be worth it.
Dr. Robin is truly an answer to my prayers. We had been at the Jones Institute for 7 months, and were diagnosed with unexplained infertility. Even after a miscarriage, their response was it happens sometimes, it doesnt mean anything is wrong. You look perfect. Which is nice to hear, but it doesnt get us pregnant. One of the nurses at Jones even dropped my husbands sample! Within 24 hours of switching to New Hope, Dr. Robin had diagnosed me with PCOS and two other conditions preventing us from getting pregnant. She had no additional information than Jones, shes just a better doctor. Everyone in the office is super pleasant and positive. Now Im getting proper treatment and awaiting results in December... Update: were pregnant after our first cycle!!! Its a boy! Currently 33 weeks :)
Amin my very first visit I was diagnosed with something many other medical professionals have overlooked. I have never been so pleased with a group of wonderful staff. I can’t soeak highly enough of this clinic. I know Dr Robin cares for her patients and she’s so compassionate! The staff were wonderful as well. I look forward to holding my baby at the end of this journey
The New Hope Center is fantastic! Dr. Robin is one of the kindest, most genuine people that I have ever met, and she really does care about helping couples grow a family. Whatever help one may need, along the large spectrum of issues that can arise when trying to get pregnant, Dr. Robin and her wonderful staff will help you find the problem and have a family :)
Dr Robin and the staff at the new hope center are AMAZING!! They’re so passionate about what they do to help families. I definitely recommend anyone that needs fertility assistance come see Dr Robin. She’s such a wonderful, caring and beautiful soul! Truly a gift from the universe!
What my spouse and I feared might be a complicated and daunting process was made completely seamless by the angels at The New Hope Center for Reproductive Medicine. We got particularly friendly with Jan, the nurse practitioner we saw at multiple visits. She feels almost as much like a new family member as our little one who is finally on the way and almost here.
We had multiple issues with this clinic related to their billing, lack of transparency, and rude staff.First, do your research. Dr. Robin provided us with nationwide success rates, however New Hope’s success rates are significantly lower than the national average. You can find New Hope’s success rates on the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology and CDC websites. If you want a prompt response have your husband call or email. Dr. Robin in particular was delayed in responding to my emails (if she replied at all), but promptly responded to my husband. Considering I was the patient I found this pretty annoying.Because of my age we had originally considered the donor embryo program. The donor embryo program requires a few upfront fees. New Hope called and asked for my credit card number so that I could start “shopping for an embryo”. I was taken back by the term “shopping” and while the woman apologized she insisted that I would be shopping for an embryo and if I couldn’t “get over it” she didn’t see how I could go forward with the process. While the donor embryo program had a much better success rate than IVF, the “embryo shopping” incident left us uneasy so we went with the IVF protocol Dr. Robin discussed at our initial appointment. A couple days before my IVF cycle was to begin I received a bill for over $16K, $4,500 higher than the cost estimate provided at our initial appointment. We had already purchased thousands in Rx medication so it was too late to reconsider. The cost estimate included an amount due to the clinic as well as an estimate for medications. The medication estimate they provided had a range of $3.5K-$8K, but our medication costs ended up exceeding $9K (after a military discount). The $9K medication cost was in addition to the $16K clinic cost. Additionally, Dr. Robin had us purchase several medications that were not needed. To save us money Dr. Robin should have waited to order these medications until it was known if they were needed. We were originally hesitant to use IVF because of my age, but Dr. Robin assured me that I was a good candidate because my AMH and my basal antral follicle count (BAFC) were both good. Unfortunately Dr. Robyn did my BAFC on day 15 of my cycle when she was assessing whether I was a good candidate for IVF. My day 2 BAFC, the correct day to count, was much lower and clinical staff did not tell me this until it was too late to change my mind.During my IVF cycle I spoke with Dr. Robin and made it clear that I was not interested in doing egg retrieval unless there would be > 6 eggs. Because I’m older and ~80% of my eggs are bad, I didn’t want to go through egg retrieval unless there would be a reasonable chance of success. Dr. Robin assured me that it looked like there would be. The egg retrieval yielded 2 viable eggs and the embryologist later indicated that based on my chart that is all she would have expected. After doing some research, it appears most clinics would cancel the procedure with so few eggs, but Dr. Robin did not even discuss it with me.Neither of my eggs formed an embryo meaning that there were several procedures that we had paid for that would not be required. Because their original bill was not itemized, they could have literally made up any amount to refund us. In order to ensure they get as much of your money they add ridiculous charges like $750 to keep 1 egg for 1 extra day. Ultimately, the amount they agreed to refund us was very low. Finally, while many staff members were kind, several were rude. The clinical staff, including Dr. Robin, do not appear to understand basic probability theory and have no appreciation of how incredibly expensive the process is. The embryologist was the first staff member I encountered that was realistic about my chances of having a child and unfortunately we did not have a discussion with her until very late in the process.
Amazed by the compassion and knowledge of Dr. Poe-Zeigler. We are excited to continue this journey with her. I have also had a few issues with scheduling, but Im hoping it is more of a one time occurrence. There seems to be a bit of a disconnect between the front desk and clinic staff.I will address the scheduling issues at my next appointment with an update.Wait times are decent in reference to a typical busy practice .Overall, Im excited to have found this place.
Unless you want the added stress of dealing with an incompetent billing and insurance staff to the heartbreak of struggling with fertility, find another reproductive care center. Read further for an explanation of a year long struggle:Poor insurance account management. I received a bill for treatment 8 months after (when the center began to prepare their tax documents) the service took place. The woman who worked in the insurance claims office offered the following explanation, Im just one person. If one person cant handle the insurance claims then they need to hire someone else or have two employees handle claims. Treatments are too expensive to be surprised with a bill.An update to my previous review: I called the manager of the insurance claims office 5-6 times and left messages each time with no return phone call. I paid my bill by the due date anyway. 6 weeks later I received a notice saying that my bill had not been paid. Unfortunately for New Hope, I had a receipt of payment with my health savings account. I called and left a message- this time I told them that my lawyer would call them if I didnt receive a return phone call. 24 hrs later- no answer. I left one more message stating that this was the last time I would call before I took legal action on the next business day... magically, I got a call stating that my bill had in fact been paid.
My first experience was wonderful I enjoyed every minute the second appointment was even better I enjoyed it the people at the front desk was awesome and the people in the back is awesome too I enjoyed dr. Robin and dr. Robin got a sister I thought it was her twin I wanted to speak to her but I was intimidated you got to try the restaurant thats right there in front they have the best sandwiches oh my God at my next appointment Im looking forward to getting pregnant and I hope everything works well so I can get it on the first try actually I feel confident I know Im getting pregnant the first try and I will give you guys feedback but New Hope Reproductive Center Virginia Beach is the best I love you guys and the lady from LabCorp that took my blood you are awesome
What a breath of fresh air! We tried for 5 years and the New Hope clinic was our final answer to prayers. Dr Robin and Dr Perez are wonderful. We were treated like people and not like cattle. I wasnt herded in and herded out like I felt in other places. Dont give up until you try the New Hope center.
I was extremely disappointed and am still feeling cheated. Some background- I have PCOS and my insurance does not cover infertility...I met up Dr. Robin and talked to her. I told her that abt the whole situation and I also asked her if I could go for second baby and in our budget, we did not have more than 100-200$ for any special treatment. She said that their department had contacted the insurance company and preliminary Ultrasound and checkup would be covered. I told her that I could come back later if they were not sure... She and the lab tech insisted that it was ok...After a fortnight I get a bill of 550$. All they say is they are sorry... I changed my OBGYN. She (the new one) gave me ovulation prescription... around 35$...I got pregnant in a month at NO EXTRA COST... And today, I got a call from new hope that they are initiating legal proceedings for 550$ for doing nothing... I did not get all this in black and white as I did not know I was getting fleeced...And we do not even have 550$ to pay...So, my advice, unless you are really loaded and love free-loaders who take ur money for fun, please reconsider going here....
My wife has had great experiences at this facility the last 3 months until today. We schedule an appointment to find out if she was pregnant. I took off work. Our appointment was at 8:30 am. We got there she gave a urine sample. Then a doctor or nurse rushed her to the back wouldnt even let me come. She told her she had to do a culture fast because she had another patient on a table. My wife was very uncomfortable. The lady did what she had to do then left and told my wife she could go back in the waiting room. Then they told us we were done and they would call by 1pm . They didnt so we called at 3 pm they said theyd call by 4pm .They didnt then we called again at 6pm the machine took a message because they closed at 5. The whole experience was just really unprofessional . Not the way we expected to fine out if were pregnant or not, which we still havent . Dr. Robin is a great lady who usually treats my wife great but we didnt see her today. It was just really left a bad taste in my mouth.
My husband and I conceived our daughter just about 3 yrs ago with the assistance of fertility treatments in another state. Since moving we decided to try The New Hope Center. We met with Dr. Robin who seemed nice enough and wrote out our course of treatment...which was very similar to our previous treatment plan. We were able to do our preliminary test that day but had to come back for more ultrasounds. During our initial appointment we were promised to speak with the financial department but NEVER got to...even though we kept asking! We knew our insurance wouldnt pay. I still wasnt able to speak with them until the morning I went in to actually start my meds!!! Before I saw the NP I was ushered up to the check out window and informally told the price of one cycle. The girl at the window was not too helpful and had a bit of an attitude. Needless to say we went a head and paid the $$$ because at that point we were emotionally invested to not continue. This clinic requires soo many ultrasounds, 2-3 a week and each time they want blood work! With our daughter we had 3 ultrasounds the entire process! I feel The New Hope is U/S happy!! Which made it hard for me since I live about 1.5 hours away one way. At one point they even got my blood work mixed up...I should have stopped then. Mid cycle I had to pay $$ even more to continue because I ended up needing injectables....which I had to pay out of pocket for at the pharmacy @ close to $500. I asked why I had to pay more and all I was told is that it bumps to another package. So lame. After all this my cycle was canceled due to no growth. I even ended up having to two periods in one month. Rrrr. My last stinking ultrasound with the PN was a waste! I was bleeding so I dont know what the heck they were looking for?!?! I called before my appointment and was told I still needed to come. I did decline blood work that day....it was NOT needed since this cycle was canceled already! We WILL NOT be coming back! I felt like they were all about the $$$$, they werent very informative and forth coming with the process. I kept asking whats next with very little response. I am currently waiting to hear back how much of my money I will get refunded due to the canceled cycle! I am very disappointed with my experience. I do NOT recommend them at all!
Deciding on surrogacy was not an easy decision to make and we were feeling quite overwhelmed with the process. New Hope and dr. Robin made it a friendly experience and was very clear and commutative from one step to the next. We were never left in the dark.
Very kind, caring, gentle and patient staff! I appreciate so much that they knew my name after just one visit and always ask how my day was. I can tell they know most patients are going through a lot, emotionally, and try to do what they can to make us feel good!
Ive been a patient of Dr. Perez for over two years now. He worked miracles and gave us our first child, now we are working with Dr. Perez and his staff again to expand our family once more. If you have had challenges with getting pregnant and have struggled with the decision to work with a fertility specialist, you would be sorely remiss if you went anywhere else other than the New Hope Center.
They quickly got us in for a consultation for $410. Gave us a list of tests to try which we did. Recommendation vitamins for low counts. Retested no change wanted us to come in for another consultation to discuss. They are all about the money and “consultations”. Beware do not trust this office. Find another center avoid this place at all cost. You have to wait two weeks or greater for results because they never answer and never return messages they have a call center to avoid patient calls.
Everyone at the clinic is so supportive and encouraging. They are always here for you whenever you need them! I can officially say we are expecting because of the new hope center!
Very disappointed with the lack of communication on the end of the clinic. Wont respond to emails or calls. If you cant do that, what are you even good for?
I just started going here. A week and I absolutely love Dr. Robin. She explains everything clearly and the staff is helpful. I can’t to reach the end of this process because a baby will be the end result.
I recommend New Hope because they try to put your fears at ease and by ensuring you are well informed through each step of the process. I appreciate the customer service I receive each visit.
If I could I wouldn’t even give a star! This place is a money pit and they lie to you. They keep sending you more bills that you have already paid for. They will never call you about anything! Lab results, appointments, anything!!!! They go through email to even speak to you. They are rude . Go somewhere else! Money will be wasted and you will never speak to anyone but front desk.
Went to this facility 2 years ago. Not successful after two attempts. We had high hopes but not so lucky. We had a successful experience through the Jones institute in Norfolk.
I was a bit trepidatious to begin the process. I mean honestly where do you begin on something like this? Well, HERE is where you begin. Dr. Robin was amazing and helped us out so much.
I love it here, I have all of my appointments with the same doctor (dr.perez) hes amazing, but I highly recommend this place to anyone, there the best in Hampton roads. Completely satisfied =)
I decided that freezing my eggs was a mature decision to make since I delayed having children. They helped me through the entire process and things have been going really well.
Always felt warm, welcomed and well attended to! Definitely would recommend for any other families dealing with fertility issues.
Took a long time to get blood work back I had to contact them. Felt slightly discriminated against honestly. Will be going elsewhere.
The best service. I really appreciate how they care about my goals and didnt want me to have to wait any longer for answers I needed.
The new hope center is not a good center to go to. Their clinical staff is great but the administrator is very rude and disrespectful.
Waste of a lot of money, Waste of time and zero result. Bad customer service. They charge 3 times than other places. I dont not recommend this place
They were amazing!!! My husband and I are forever greatful!!!💕
Wonderful staff, brilliant doctor!
