The front staff member who checked me in was a breath of fresh air. She was professional and really sweet! Customer service seems to be a skill thats hard to find in people these days, but shes got it in spades!I got really emotional after my appointment and another staff member gave me a hug to comfort me. She also let me compose myself and wait in a room rather than the waiting room until the phlebotomist was ready for me.I really wish I knew these ladies names so I could name them directly. They both deserve recognition. To the upper management: Please look into who these ladies are and shared my gratitude with them.I normally go to the Mayfair location, but I will be coming here from now on.

Dr. Sandra Hall is the best doctor I’ve ever had in any discipline of medicine. She is thorough, incredibly intelligent, informative, and makes you feel cared for. She is truly the pillar of what makes a doctor a great doctor. I had some concerns with other Wilmington Health offices’ scheduling and Dr. Hall noted handling it personally. Would be appreciated if the Wilmington Health scheduling staff could improve scheduling by creating a fail safe for scheduling patients that they plan to call to schedule. I have had multiple appointments where I was told I would be called to be scheduled and never received a phone call. But overall, I am very satisfied and appreciative of the professionalism and dedication of these offices. I highly recommend Wilmington Health and Dr. Sandra Hall.

The competency of this place is very low. Not equipped dealing with high risk pregnancy and on multiple occasions the nurses have informed me that they do not read the charts before seeing the patients. Few times i had to educate the doctors on my condition, again because they dont read the charts or notes from the High Risk doctor. There is no relationship building between you and the doctors here because they are always on rotation so you will never know what you will get. A lot of times you get dismissed and have to take matters in your own hands. I am very nervous of being in their care on my due date because they might not even know what to do if i hemorrhage during delivery and die during child birth. Their company policy is to pay the payments of child birth upfront so I feel stuck with them and my life does not feel safe in their care.

Let’s start with the front staff: amazing, wonderful, helpful, spectacular, hilarious ladies every time I have an appointment.Dr Parker is phenomenal. She provided me with options for my healthcare and explained the risks and rewards in great detail. She also explained why she felt certain treatments were flat out wrong for me. Dr Parker asked me throughout the way if I had questions, summarized the game plan back to me and made me fe confident we were on the right track.

After my apts, both ultrasound & check up, I felt so unhappy about being pregnant. Dr Hauck told me to sit and wait by the phone because I’d probably need to be referred out to high risk doctor at the hospital. She had me in tears when I left, making me think I am likely to die having my c section surgery. I still don’t know if I need to be referred but at this point I’d prefer it. The doctor made me feel that this establishment isn’t knowledgeable enough to handle the care I need. The sonogram tech had ZERO personality. She barely let me even see my baby on the screen, because she just wanted to get her job done. Not personable. I was just a number on a conveyor belt to her. I got two measly pics of my baby. She didn’t even care to tell me which end was the head. Terrible experience. The doctor left me feeling like I was going to die. If I could give zero stars I would. Front desk staff was RUDE. Couldn’t hear her and if I said “excuse me?” I’d have to lean over the desk to hear her because she certainly wasn’t going to get any louder. I was bounced around from office to labs upstairs and back down stairs to do my blood work because nobody wanted to do the bloodwork I needed done. I do not wish to come back.

The staff was unorganized and very often dismissive. The providers seemed to not really care for their job and we were given more misinformation than accurate. After several instances where the staff had no idea what they were doing and required us to come back because of forgotten tests or bloodwork, we lost all trust and faith they had my and my baby’s best interest in mind. Because of all of this, we decided to leave WH for another, reputable practice to continue our care.

This occurrence happened to me two years ago, but I feel it is important to share. I had gotten pregnant in October of 2022 and scheduled my first pregnancy appt with Wilmington Health, which they schedule for 9 or 10 weeks (which is typical). At about 5-6 weeks, I started having irregular symptoms that after extensively researching and monitoring, seemed a lot like an ectopic pregnancy. I called several times to see if my appt could be moved sooner to screen this out or treat if needed. I was declined each time and one of the times the nurse asked me if I had ever even had an ectopic before. No I had not because it was my first time being pregnant. Another nurse told me that I was probably just constipated. My pain intensified and symptoms worsened to where I couldnt sleep due to pain. I called again, and the doctor told me to go to the hospital on Wrightsville avenue to have them ultra sound me. I received the ultrasound, and the male doctor there even said I was just having a painful pregnancy and that it should pass. However, he sent the results to Dr. Sarah Gore to review (one of the doctors- my favorite- at Wilmington Health OBGYN. Unfortunately, she has since left the practice). She did a face time doctor visit and informed me that I was absolutely having an ectopic pregnancy and needed to be transported to New Hanover hospital and treated immediately. Thank goodness she finally listened to me because this could have been a life or death situation. Highly recommend all patients to advocate for themselves because no one else will and recommend for the staff to listen better to the patients and take seriously potential emergency situations. Its a shame there arent many OBGYN practices available in Wilmington. The existing practices need to step up their service. I was very disappointed and upset with my experience.***Edit: I do not appreciate the lack of responsibility taken by this practice or the owner in their response to this life-threatening, severe event that had been so traumatizing that it took several years for me to speak up about. I will absolutely not be returning to this practice and finding a new provider- especially since Dr. Sarah Gore is no longer with Wilmington Health.

After discovering a suspicious mass in my breast, I was more stressed than a cat in a room full of rocking chairs. Luckily, Mary handled my breast concern with the kind of care and precision usually reserved for defusing bombs in action movies. Her student sidekick was just as kind and compassionate, making it a real dynamic duo situation. I would highly recommend this office for any female concerns—trust me, you’ll be in good hands (literally).

I want to preface this by saying every nurse I’ve encountered at midtown is very kind. Very polite and warm. As well, Dr. Hauck, very personable and friendly. Love her.As others have stated. You are very much treated like a number. The practice of placing patients with a different doctor each visit isn’t conducive of quality health care, as every practitioner has different methods and opinions. Many of the providers I’ve met with have almost given off an air that it was an inconvenience to even speak with me (currently pregnant). Thank goodness this is my second go round and I don’t have many questions, as I don’t even feel comfortable around most of the providers here to ask anything. I can see how it would be extremely discerning to a first time mother or someone navigating a new health condition. My biggest qualm however is with a phlebotomist/lab assistant named Amber. I’ve had to encounter her multiple times and I dread it every time. I actually sit and hope in the waiting room that she won’t be the one to take my blood that day. But lucky me, I get to experience her disinterested, distant, bothered, inconvenienced attitude every time I visit this office. She is probably the most non personable health care worker I’ve ever met in my life. She never smiles, is not polite, does not like to answer questions (and makes a face when you do ask them), overall acts like you (the patient) are the biggest inconvenience of her day. She makes me physically uncomfortable due to her poor demeanor/attitude and I feel sorry for every woman that has to have their blood drawn by her. As someone holding a position to work with patients in a vulnerable state, where many people have a fear of needles, I’d expect my phlebotomist to be warm and welcoming. Someone with a calming presence incase nerves are high. Amber provides none of those things.Even further, I’ve mentioned to her every visit that it’s very hard to draw blood from my arms and it’s usually done through my hand. She does not even acknowledge that I speak to her when I say this and immediately goes for my arm. During my visit today, she blew my vein out so bad that it’s still sore 8 hours later. I’ve had veins blown before and I’ve never experienced pain like this. I would highly consider maybe some empathy training for Amber or replacement overall. As I said, I actually worry that I will have to encounter her when I visit and I’m sure I’m not the only woman who feels this way.

Started coming here after I found out I am pregnant with my first and had an awful experience. You’re treated like a number, not an individual, and you’re rushed in and out every appointment without being given the opportunity to ask questions. My first ultrasound I got no “congratulations”, no pamphlets or any verbal information on what the process will be like. I found myself googling the most simple questions (LIKE how many weeks is a pregnancy lol) that should have been talked about in my multiple appointments. I was told I have to give 5 tubes of blood with no explanation to what it was for. My test results were sent to me with no explanation and no one calling me to review them. And the woman who took my blood wouldn’t even look at me let alone talk to me even after I told her I don’t do well with blood draws. I was dry heaving because I’m pregnant and I don’t do well with needles and instead of helping me she told me I’m done and left. I ended up throwing up in the parking lot after being pushed out.Just never felt like a personal experience. I always felt like a burden to the staff. Would never recommend for first time pregnancies. Now I’m at the novant near by and they’re incredibly helpful and personable.

I waited about 15 minutes for the doctor, which was a bit long. The doctor seemed very competent and was friendly. My only complaint was that I had a lot of questions about a medication change, and the doctor seemed to get a bit impatient and annoyed towards the end of the visit. I waited for over 45 minutes before finally being called back for my appointment. This seems to be a theme for every time I have an appointment here. The most frustrating part, is that the appointment reminder texts ask you to arrive 15 minutes early, which I do, and then I still end up waiting at least 45 minutes. I waited over an hour for my last appointment before this. Unacceptable. I will not get into the details of how horrible the rest of my experience was here for personal reasons. But do not book an appointment here. If there is anywhere else you can go, go there instead.I will not be coming back to Wilmington Health for OGBYN services.

I cannot believe in 2023 this is where we are at with women’s healthcare!?! One would think you’d feel safe, heard and taken care of when visiting a medical establishment. Not this place.I requested an appointment with Dr Hall specifically after having had a very bad experience prior with another provider at Wilmington Health. My appointment was marked as a new patient ‘Level 4’ office visit. I even came prepared, having done my research and brought along my most up to date MRI images (on disk and printed) and lab results. It wasn’t until 40 minutes(!!!) past my appointment time when I was finally lead into the examination room by Dr Hall’s nurse. She asked me to strip from the waist down stating “Dr Hall will want to do her examination”. I waited another 10 minutes or so to finally be seen by Dr Hall. She spent maybe 10 minutes (at most) in the room with me, she did not do any examination on me despite being told to strip down for exam. Not only that but I had to sit on the bed half naked during the entire conversation with her, very uncomfortable and cold. I told her I brought my recent imaging if she could kindly take a look at the actual images. She glanced down at her papers and shrugged saying “I looked at it”. Mind you, my images, lab results and the disc of my images were sitting nicely in a folder on the other table. She had no images in front of her, just a brief report by the radiologist. I came to discuss an inevitable, and for me, the patient, difficult surgery. Long story short, I felt completely dismissed, brushed off and rushed. The entire experience left me disheartened and in tears.

Dr. Vogel was my OBgyn before I got pregnant and every experience with him was great. I don’t really care about bed side manner as long as I’m getting GOOD information. He is a genius and knows his stuff. He helped me a lot after my first pregnancy years ago.Fast forward to now when I’m pregnant with my second. I’m not pleased. I actually will make it a request to not go back to the midtown office. My first appointment isn’t until I’ll be almost ten weeks. If I wanted to chose abortion that leaves me little time to make a decision and get an appointment else where to go through with it. The amount of incorrect information I’ve gotten from the office is insane. I’ve called a few times because this is an unplanned pregnancy (I was on birth control) and have had issues with being really sick. The first call was for scheduling my appointment (again I will be almost 10 weeks), this person was the only kind person I’ve spoke with. Unfortunately the earliest appointment she could get me was in Hampstead. I also explained that it was unplanned and needed to talk to someone about the medications I was on and what needed to be stopped. She forwarded me to the nurse triage where the woman told me to call my primary. I don’t get it. You specialize in the care of children in the womb but you can’t tell me what medications are no longer safe? It honestly just sounded like she didn’t want to do her job and a waste of my time. I’m an established patient here and in many other places within Wilmington Health. I ended up emailing my primary to get the information I needed since the woman was no help.Fast forward to a few weeks later and I am very ill. I went to today’s care where I was instructed to go to the hospital and get some fluids. I did. They advised me to do a follow up since the morning sickness was so bad.I called the midtown location to let them know I was still sick, even with the medication I was given to help me stop throwing up. The nurse on the triage told me “those medications can make you nauseous”. Which I didn’t understand at all since I was prescribed them to fight those feelings. Finally I called back and just asked to be seen by an OB. I was finally seen where I was prescribed a different medication for that and the bronchitis I’m suffering from. The doctor asked me “who told you that” and told me she would address it with her staff. Left there thinking okay I’m finally getting some help. I went back for a follow up where the staff tried to tell me I couldn’t use my pregnancy Medicaid as an insurance because I wasn’t confirmed pregnant until my pelvic exam later this month and that she wouldn’t have known I was pregnant without me telling her that. The OB again asked me “who told you that” and told me I was confirmed pregnant already. It didn’t make any sense to me since the only reason I’m asking to be seen is because I am pregnant and having morning sickness because there’s a baby growing in me. Otherwise I wouldn’t be puking. I hope the hampstead visit goes alright and I’m going to do my best to get my future visits at the Mayfair location and hope for the best. I never want to go back to the midtown location.

Don’t mind the long message. But I want to get this message out because I’m NOT happy with there services or customer service. My wife is 7 weeks pregnant and we had an appointment scheduled with Wilmington Health. My wife was experiencing extreme pain, and she was hurting horribly bad. We called Wilmington Health to try and move her appointment forward because of how bad she was hurting. They told us there was no available slots, no waitlist, nothing. The best we could do is call everyday and see if there was a cancellation. My wife’s pain got so bad we went to the ER, and after a night there, we found out she had some complications causing the pain. We were advised to follow up within 48-72 hours with our primary to make sure the issues dissipate opposed to get worse. When we called Wilmington Health they told us we couldn’t be seen because we weren’t a patient there until the initial appointment. And they also said the ER recommendation was invalid because it wasn’t their facilities. So we couldn’t get help when she was in pain. We couldn’t get seen sooner. And when we called about these things, the receptionist was extremely rude and arrogant. It’s a shame we never got to the OB because I’m sure they’re great people. But when it comes to getting help when it was needed they had no sympathy or care to help. It wasn’t “in their protocol”. We are no longer using there services because of it. Very disappointing.

She makes you feel good and comfortable to ask questions. Once again though the checkout was brutal. The receptionist acted like we were annoying her. Our third visit we had to reschedule because my wife is sick. We did not think it would be fair to bring it into the office. This was the anatomy scan appointment. They couldn’t get us in for another 10 days pushing out our time i between visits almost 7 weeks. My wife asked the receptionist if that is ok or something she should be concerned about. The response “well their is nothing you can do about it right.” Once again 0 compassion for the situation and she did not even come close to answering what was asked. It is just sad that we are experiencing our first pregnancy and get treated like we are a part on an assembly line.

I took off work and had to find childcare only to have someone call me and tell me they would not be there the day my apt was scheduled. This is just so unacceptable. I rearranged my entire schedule for this apt only to have them cancelled it at the last minute. I still have not have the test I needed done but I will be looking for a new OBGYN instead. I’m a first time mom and am due in December. My first maybe 3-4 visits were ok. The front desk people are horrible and lack enthusiasm. The nurses and doctors are slow as if there are only one of each working. We as clients schedule appointments for a reason ahead of time, but they seem to always be behind 30-40mins. When you tell them about a concern they brush it off and tell you to come to the office if it gets worse. I haven’t been told anything about my pregnancy or baby so I’m pretty much just winging it and asking Google. The only doctor I prefer is Dr. Allison Parker. Wilmington health obgyn has literally given me my life back. I spent 20 years in pain with doctor after doctor just not caring or saying womens pain is normal. I went to nurse practitioner Danielle theberge, told her my history, everything that was going on, everything I’d already tried and what I wanted. That I was ready for a hysterectomy. She said I think it’s time you don’t have to be in pain anymore, let’s get it scheduled. Dr. Gore performed my surgery and I’ve never had a doctor just care so much and be so unbelievably kind. She took my hand right before surgery and basically said I know it’s scary, but I’ve got your back. You’ve suffered long enough and this is the right decision. She was amazing and even called me on a Saturday when I’m sure she didn’t have to, to let me know the pathology they had gotten back and finally what my diagnoses was after 20 years of pain. I can’t thank this team enough

Thought this would be a great experience, but boy was I wrong...To start, the triage nurse has less than zero personality and it quite intimidating. The doctor was okay, but not very informative and I felt like he wasnt listening fully to my issues. Then in order to go with the first step he wanted to try before surgery, I had to go back to my regular doctor to get a new referral before I could schedule that (easy enough although a bit odd considering the communication should come from THEM considering they know the codes for the diagnosis THEY want)...Got it done and fought still to get an appointment because they insist it wasnt done even though my regular doctor has faxed them the referral AND I offered to fax my copy of the referral as well. Decided I dont need to be treated like this and called my doctor back and asked to set up new set of referrals for a 2nd opinion and the procedure under the other office in case they feel that would be a good first step as well.Get a new office staff because its apparently an ongoing issues based on multiple reviews...Patients ARE your business, so treat them like you want them coming back!!

All I can say is, I was burnt with a hot speculum. Dr. Was very nice and apologetic about it but I cannot continue care there. I work in the medical field so, I know exactly what happened. They were extremely busy (I noticed with my own eyes) ran out of speculums and gave the dr a scorching hot speculum to use straight from the autoclave. While they were nice about the issue it leaves me feeling a lack of attention to detail and similar to what other people have said a feeling of being rushed through like cattle. If time was taken for each patient this incident would not have happened. Sure, it’s easy to blame the staff but at the same time, the Dr. is just as responsible for what happens to each patient. Maybe if my other pregnancies were easy and I did not have chronic health issues I would give them another chance but, I’m too scared. Detail matters when it comes to my health and the health of my unborn child. My first baby was born lifeless in California at an amazing hospital because of a lack of attention (by the nurse) thank god my Dr. checked on my because she saved her life. I cannot take chances with my children.

I really liked all the OB’s, NPs, and nurses. The Midtown location is clean and beautiful. The front desk staff knows their stuff. It’s weird having rotating doctors during your pregnancy, but at least you get a chance to meet them all so when you’re in labor at the hospital you won’t have someone you’ve never met. Dr. LaBenne is incredibly kind, Dr. Parker has such patience, Anjie is so caring, and Dr. Carroll (delivered my baby girl!) is extra attentive. My advice? Show up on time for your appointments and ask for clarification when you don’t understand. As a whole , I never experience long wait times , typically I’m in and out within 20-30 minutes. But in addition , I love that the providers actually treat you like a individual person and not just “a patient” . During this pregnancy I have seen both Dr.Parker and Dr. Vogel , two people in which I have grown a lot of trust in to provide myself and my baby with the best healthcare experience. It always feels good to know that your providers actually care about you and will do whatever within their power to make sure that you feel reassured during the ups and downs that can come with pregnancy . Wilmington Health, in general, hire a bunch of uneducated, non compassionate people. I bought my daughter to see Dr Gore earlier this month and this doctor flipped a switch completely when I asked for a medication refill. Got up and told us to come back when the situation gets worse. Then the office boots us from their practice because they said and I quote I yelled, screamed and was cussing up a storm in the office after the doctor left yet my daughter, who is 12 and will tell it like it is, said I did raise my voice but there was no yelling or screaming. The office manager is no better. Shes been avoiding me for 12 days now. I finally talked to her today and of course she backed the doctor up. The doctor did nothing wrong at all of course.Every doctor, with the exception of one, in the Wilmington Health network has been useless and unhelpful. What a traumatic first time experience for my daughter. She tried to deliver without an epidural but the pain became too intense. The epidural was placed and did not work. She labored and delivered without pain relief. I know that labor hurts but when you receive an epidural the patient should receive some relief. The practice received their money. How ironic. The provider, Dr. McLean, botched her repair and my daughter had to receive 2 units of blood for 2 tears that Dr. Carroll had to come in and repair. Dr. Carroll then had the nerve to deny that was what had happened when I heard her say that there were 2 tears that were actively bleeding. My daughter was given dilaudid so she could do the botched repair and manually sweep the uterus for any clots and placental contents. This practice has bullied my daughter and her choice of delivering without being induced. They said she had to be induced for a high BMI. And when questioned about it she was met with attitude. What a joke. If you make a mistake then own it. This practice is a disgrace to good physicians. Shame on you.

Every single time I have visited the 17th st office, the office staff and nurses have been extremely unprofessional and rude. This last Friday was nothing short of a nightmare. I had gone through a miscarriage just five days before, I was hurting emotionally and physically and the entire appointment seemed like a bad dream. The first time I was called back, I was sent back to the waiting room after they had realized they had used the wrong name. Then, when I was called back a second time, the sonographer led me into a room. She forgot to tell me to take a urine sample so she sent me to a bathroom. While I was in the bathroom I overheard her talking to other staff members about me saying this patient has an attitude. I didnt address this until we were back in the ultrasound room and she started talking about my pregnancy and how far along I was. She had no idea that I had miscarried or why I was there for the appointment. It was one of the most awful experiences of my life. And I share this only to hopefully prevent someone else from having to go through it and encourage you to pursue any other doctors office in town. I have called and ask to speak to an office manager with no return call.

The 1 star is due to the actual birthing experience - what it’s all about! The actual office visits at 17th street weren’t bad, I actually didn’t mind going - they were just very in and out. Dr. Parker and Dr. Labenne overall were probably my favorites, the rest were okay. I was kept in the hospital for several days after birth with no explanation of why (until I got discharged). I was told different things by various of the different Ob’s on the team. The team is so big that I don’t think they are able to communicate well so I would hear completely different things from different Ob’s. I think they were trying to do the right thing but the lack of communication is the reason why I’m giving them a 1 star. I plan on going to another office in the future. Also - I know it’s universal for the most part but the fact that they still aren’t letting your partner in for Ob visits is beyond frustrating and an experience you should never have to go through by yourself. It’s something that should be enjoyed together. Oh and they also wanted me to do my postpartum visit virtually. I declined and they finally ended up seeing me. It’s a shame because I do like some of the physicians and in the office they seemed nice but when it came down to it at the end they really need to work on communication with patients and each other and well as appropriate medical treatment and care - pandemic or not, we still need to be treated correctly. Oh and you also have to pay your deductible and OOP max up front before delivery (but I think this is done at glen meade also)

If I could give zero stars I would. Please save yourself the trauma and find another provider. Rachel McLean should not even have a medical license. This place herds you through like cattle and if you have any idea of a birth plan or image of what birth will be like it better agree with theirs or they will bully you into feeling insignificant. I was educated and informed and they challenged me because I refused to allow them to induce me at 39 weeks and 40 weeks. Dr. Vogel tried to intimidate me by using the terms spontaneous infant death about 10x in my meeting with him when I questioned why the practice would want to induce me at 39 weeks (I had ZERO risk factors with my pregnancy). He also tried to push the idea that I would not go into labor on my own because that rarely happens. As if women have only been given birth as of recent. I went against their advice and delivered a perfectly healthy baby girl at 41 weeks exactly (first time mom) and labored 100% on my own. As for Dr. McLean, she appeared clueless when my daughter came out stunned, she didnt know where to put the baby and the nurses at NHRMC had to step in to direct her. Dr. McLean was also quick to try and push a c-section after I had dilated to 9.5cm in less than 6 hours. Thank goodness I had amazing nursing support at the hospital. After delivery Dr. McLean left me bleeding out from tears she failed to sew up. Even Dr. Carroll verbalized the missed tears when she had to come in AFTER Dr. McLean and sew them up. Because of the negligence I hemorrhaged and had to have a blood transfusion. This was my worst nightmare at a time I should have been bonding with my new baby. After we complained about the lack of adequate care Dr. Carroll tried to retract her statement about the tears Dr. McLean missed and once again failed to support me as the patient. This practice is all about convenience (for them, not the patient) and not once was I met with compassion or a caring atmosphere. I will never access care with Wilmington Health in any fashion and highly recommend you seek out another provider, especially if this is your first pregnancy and you are uncertain of what to expect.

Never, I repeat never use this practice if you are pregnant. I am so beyond stressed out its unreal. First, the appointments last at least an hour even for the quick ones where theyre just listen to the babys heartbeat. Second, they have no record of my previous miscarriage even though I went back to them once a week for a month for blood work. The office is highly unorganized. A few of the nurses are nice but thats about it. You are processed like a number. I am rushed and barely have time to address any concerns I might have. The doctors are very judgemental and have little to no empathy. I have now been trying to get out of that practice for over a month and they still havent released my records. Anytime I call the medical record Department they all tell me that it will take up to 30 days for my records to be released. I cant even get a copy of my own records without having to pay an outragrous fee and it would still take up to 30 days! It has been deemed impossible to leave that facility due to the way they handle medical records. They advised me that my next appointment can take anywhere from 1 1/2-3 hours and its only a sonogram! I find this absolutely unacceptable. Who can spend 4 hours at a doctors office? I get updates through the patient portal telling me that my scheduled doctor appointments have changed without my consent, its happened twice now. So everytime that happens I have to call and figure out why its changed around. I went here for my first pregnancy and although it wasnt the best care, it most certainly wasnt this bad. I wish I could give a negative 100. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED WITH THIS PLACE!! I was not the patient but my sister was. PLEASE RUN far away from this practice as quickly as possible. Being in the medical field and hearing her talk to me about her appointments was extremely heart wrenching. Absolutely no empathy! Its obvious they do not know how to talk to patients who are educated and want to labor and deliver THEIR way nor do they support mothers who want to let their body go into labor naturally. They sure dont like being asked questions since they obviously interpret questions as challenges. Trying to induce a 39 week first time mom with absolutely NO medical problems and an UNcomplicated pregnancy is absolutely ridiculous. And when she questioned the induction she was met with attitude. The lack of empathy and compassion shows!! They do not care about the patient. She said numerous times she felt bullied and felt like a piece of cattle being shuffled through the motions. I happened to be there for her delivery. And let me tell you it was a NIGHTMARE! DO NOT LET DR. MCLEAN AKA DR. KEVORKIAN touch you!! She is an absolute hot mess in the delivery room and she is the reason my sister had a post partum hemorrhage. She did not properly repair her and let the next doctor coming on to find her botched repair. My sister had to recieve blood products due to Dr. Mcleans lack of attention to detail. Please do your research and run far from this practice! This office doesnt support mothers. Why become a doctor when you have no compassion? Why become a doctor in a profession that brings life into the world when you obviously can tell as providers they have become complacent. I pray that no first time mother has to endure what my sister did. She had an idea in her head for a wonderful birth experience and it was shattered due to the lack of empathy and support. Please ladies.. future mothers... RUN AWAY!

All I can say is RUN far far away from this place! I put my trust in them as a first time mother & I am so disappointed. No female should be bullied in to decisions about their own health care & that is how I felt each time I visited this office. They care about their bottom line & that is all. Any issues or concerns I had with the way that they typically do things was met with bullying by the doctors, they did not want to treat me as an individual or listen to my concerns as a pregnantt woman. They do it their way or no way, do yourself a favor and find a place that actually cares about the patient & not the profit. This place isn’t it!!

If I could give them zero stars I would. I came here around 11 weeks when my regular gyn couldn’t see me anymore since he doesn’t deliver babies anymore and had the WORST experience ever. I mentioned issues I was having and they brushed it off and every doctor I saw was clueless as to what was going on with me. I got a voicemail around 23 weeks saying my enzymes were off I needed to go to the hospital that day and possibly deliver my baby, scary right?! So I get to the hospital and they said they had no idea what I was talking about so I played them the message and put me in a room. Vogel came and took more blood and said yeah idk why they’re up but you can go home just need to see a liver specialist.... I also did a urine sample that same day and found out when I had my son at 36 weeks my protein levels were high and should’ve been told I had preeclampsia then which was why I ended up getting induced. I also had gestational diabetes so I went to A high risk doctor too. They told me I wouldn’t be able to carry my son past 37 weeks and 3 days after that I had an appt here and Gore said they were going to schedule me to get induced at 39 weeks, I was miserable, swollen and told her what the other doctors said and she was just like eh no you’re fine, a week later 36 weeks I got sent straight to the hospital from the high risk to get induced bc of my BP which was high most of my pregnancy and wilmington health never acknowledged it. These are just the more major issues I had, there was plenty more. Literally the worst place ever.

Today I got the third phone call in a row to reschedule my appointment because they overbooked the doctor by 9 patients! I am 35 weeks pregnant and they have tried to reschedule or made errors with about half of my appointments. I have never had such a terrible experience with a healthcare provider. My GYN is at the Mayfaire office but I work near 17th st and have gone there for all my OB appointments. To say it has been awful would be an understatement. This is mainly due to my constantly having to reschedule my appointments and the attitude I get from the front desk staff who just constantly text on their phones and act like youre inconveniencing them. They say you need to see all OBs because you dont know who will be on call but they reschedule most my appointments so I still havent seen about half of them. It has been a hard and truly stressful experience for me as a first time mom. If I could switch providers now I would be unfortunately its too late in my pregnancy. I am honestly concerned about whether or not a physician will be available to deliver my baby at this point.

Beyond horrible care. I had a doctor completely mistreat and downplay serious pain. The staff is extremely rude and uninformed. Everything they told me to do insurance wise for my birth control prescription was incorrect. I spoke to over 5 people through my insurance company and they were appalled at Wilmington Healths instructions. If you need them to do anything to assist you they will refuse and tell you to do it yourself even if your insurance requires the doctor to be the one to do certain things. Misty specifically is extremely rude and unprofessional. She called me over 6 times in 30 minutes when I was unable to answer a call.

Over the years since I moved to Wilmington I have been to 3 different OBGYN and I have to say I like this office the best. The pap smear was done so gently and quickly that I did not even feel a thing (and I normally am uncomfortable and have discomfort) Dc. Caroll is evidently concerned with womens health and proactive preventative care. As for the nurses they have been polite and amicable and the nurse that takes blood is simply the most gentle I have ever crossed paths with. They also helped me extensively deal with BCBS in order to obtain medications I needed but the insurance company would not cover.

The only reason this place is getting one star is because their nursing staff was very nice to me, even though it was obvious that I was not happy with my OB/GYN, Dr. Vogel. I went to their office for the first time in May because of abnormally heavy bleeding that Ive had from endometriosis for the past 20 years. Ive been on birth control for the majority of the time because I did not trust IUDs. Sixteen years ago I had a D&C which included using a spoon to burn the lining of my uterus in order to slow the build up. When I discussed this with Dr. Vogel, he asked how that procedure went..I said great..that it slowed the bleeding for a while. He says Well we can certainly do that again. After the procedure at the end of August, I found that my recovery was easier than when I had it first done. Dr. Vogel talks me into an IUD, I have the implant done at the end of September. I have heavy bleeding for the first few weeks and then it subsides. Fast forward to the Saturday before Thanksgiving and I start bleeding heavy...passing large clots. After this goes on for 10 days, I call their office asking why this is happening. Dr Vogel calls and leaves a message on my phone saying Well the next step is to do the ablation. Excuse me? I thought that was done in August?I just came from an appointment with him to discuss the mixup in which he tells me..I have the consent form you signed here and it says D&C..not ablation. How the heck am I supposed to know that those two arent done together. Then, when I reminded him of our discussion in May, he says I wouldnt agree to that because I dont do repeat ablations. Then maybe you should have said THAT instead of..We can certainly do that again. If he had, I would have gone to a different doctor. After our discussion he says Well its obvious the relationship has broken down. We wont be scheduling you for any return appointments. Ya Think?!?I now am speaking to lawyers.

The people here are good at what they do, no argument there. But the professionalism is lacking. Last I checked we lived in a free country where we are free to make our own choices. I understand, we are all entitled to our opinions. But, when my wife is called foolish, gets eyes rolled at her, and treated like a child, thats UNPROFESSIONAL. Ladies and Gentlemen, you are part of a professional health organization, it would be appreciated if you acted as such.Other than my wife being treated like she is twelve, the facilities are clean and comfortable.

I made my first appointment and was rescheduled three times because the doctor was unavailable. While I was pregnant I saw many doctors. Feels very impersonal and was told different contradicting things between Drs. When the baby was delivered I was over charged by Wilmington Health. When confronted they said it was because they quoted me the wrong global price, I dont believe that because they had to give me a quote midway through pregnancy when I changed insurance. Both quotes were the same. I have a number of stories and complaints from this place. Mistakes happen and I understand that but they seemed to be common here. I would rather praise than complain but I will take my business elsewhere next time.

This doctors office does not care about anything except getting your money. When I asked to schedule an appt and they couldnt get me in for 4 weeks, I asked for a referral to go somewhere else and they could magically fit me in the same day! I then made the unfortunate decision to schedule my 2nd appt with them. They provide horrible service and do not care about their patients.

Bad! I saw several doctors at various branches of W Health. They gave orders, threatened if you didnt follow them, never explained what or why they were doing for you. I kept getting sent up to higher and higher specialists to no avail. For instance my main doctor Sandy Brannon, TWICE sent me to the wrong kind of specialist. In each case that resulted in a years delay in solving what should have been a minor medical problem. I asked her to prescribe a dandruff shampoo, which she did, but when I asked for a commonly used companion topical medicine she said she couldnt prescribe it without a specialist to oversee it. Dandruff, really! She didnt know to send me to a dermatologist for foot fungus. It goes on and on. Needless to say I got out of there forever.

I dont normally write reviews but I do believe negative reviews such as this one can help you avoid a mistake. After 8 months of care, WH OB dropped my pregnant wife from their care. Why you ask? Because we did not want them to dictate the care of my spouse and unborn child. The OB mandated unnecessary tests and policies citing fictitious industry practices all while threatening that doing otherwise would kill our baby. Folks, this is our 3rd child and by far our worst OB experience. In fact, we are dropping all our WH care providers because organizationally they do not provide nor care about patient centered care. Lastly, their billing dept. is atrocious. In summary, choose another provider as fast as you can before WH drops you at the last minute.

Please listen to my warning and do not see Dr. Vogel. I was diagnosed without Endometriosis and had a lap with Dr. Woodfill. When my symptoms came back, Dr. Woodfill told me to go get the robotic lap with Dr. Vogel as the robotic surgery would benefit me more. At the consult with Dr. Vogel, he told me I didn’t have Endometriosis and that he didn’t want to do the surgery. He said he wanted to refer me to the Pelvic Pain Specalist in Chapel Hill and that there I would receive a lot of phsycological testing. He said my brain is probably making me think the pain is a lot worse than it is. So I called Dr. Woodfill who said yes I do have endo and needed the surgery so it was scheduled. On surgery day Dr. Vogel came in to talk to me and my family and said that he will go in and do what he can but when he finds nothing I should feel better from a phsycological standpoint. After surgery he told my mom that he did find endometriosis but it couldn’t possibly have caused all of the pain I was declscribing. If you know anything about endo then you know that even the smallest amounts can hurt drastically. He said he didn’t recommend I get any more surgery and when my mom asked what I was supposed to do about the pain, he said “deal with it”. Then when my mom got upset he said he didn’t have to talk to her and that he was doing it out of a curtesy. DO NOT GO SEE THIS INSENSITIVE MAN! Go see Dr. Gore or Dr. Woodfill.

I am so upset with the treatment i received from one of the male doctors. I went to see an OB/GYN due to the fact that I have a mass growing on one of my ovaries. Because i was a self pay patient instead of asking me if i would mind the extra expense by going and getting a 2nd ultrasound or even a pap smear. He was more worried about me being able to pay for it. When it comes to my health i do not care about cost. I will never go back and now i have to get a another referral from the hospital to go elsewhere for a 2nd opinion, where hopefully i will find another doctor that is more worried about my health than the money to pay for the adequate tests.
