I came to Dr Rajan’s office after my trusted obgyn recommended her to me for urethral pain. I saw this doctor 3 times and waited 40mins-1hr past my appointment time in the waiting room + 20 minutes in the exam room each time I saw her. I saw her for maybe 15 minutes each visit, and she was in a hurry to leave the room every time. The first time I saw Dr Rajan she started out super friendly but quickly turned into by far the rudest and least patient doctor I have ever encountered as soon as I voiced anxiety and raised concerns about the symptoms I was experiencing. She even yelled at me while examining me because I was tense and in pain. She made me feel awful for the pain I am in daily as if it were my fault and made me cry in the room. She did nothing to ease my distress. In the end of the first visit she was backing out of the room with her hand on the door as I was still speaking to her about my issues and quickly left me while I had so many questions. I felt unable to advocate for myself, dismissed and unheard. The whole visit was so awful I went home crying.I made the mistake of going back to her for the next appointment thinking she could figure out what was going on with me. In that appointment she was quick to wrongly diagnose the cause of my pain without ANY tests. I wasted a whole visit in her office because she wasn’t listening to me when I told her my pain was urethral and not vaginal. When I told her I needed my urethra checked she was confused and said it was not necessary and that we would not find anything. I insisted as my obgyn and primary care (who have been my doctors for many years) said I really needed to get it checked so we scheduled it. Again that whole visit she was rude, impatient (often cutting me off), and dismissed my concerns. On the day of my cystoscopy procedure I was told in the previous appointment it would be under anesthesia because of my pain and it wasn’t. I was in so much pain so she refused to do the procedure, got annoyed and frustrated with me for being in pain and scared (again verbally fought with and yelled at me as I voiced concerns), and sent me home. I got billed for the entire procedure (almost $1,000) to insurance and then charged $100 after paying my copay. The front desk clerk, Michelle, aggressively told me the $1000 was the charge for the appointment (despite me being there for 20 minutes and not getting the procedure done), and that the doctor did not yell at me (even though she was not in the exam room so she would not know and was invalidating me completely). She said that if I did not pay the balance of a procedure I did not do she would be sending me to collections. This woman and the doctor were both so rude to me. This is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had with a doctor and office. I strongly urge you to not see Dr Rajan and this office as they do not care about your health or concerns and will not listen to you whatsoever. It is truly heartbreaking when you see a doctor with hope they will help you with something you have really been struggling with and you get treated like this. If anyone reading this is experiencing pelvic floor issues and debating going to this doctor, don’t! There are many great doctors out there who are very kind and show at least an ounce of understanding. This is not one of them.
If youre a woman suffering with any gynecology issue -- I highly recommend Dr. Rajan. She asked questions, listens, thinks through her diagnosis and explains in a very understandable way. Absolutely the best all around office visit Ive ever experienced.
Horrible experience with Doctor Rajan
