Be wary of going to Planned Parenthood especially if you are paying out of pocket. Got a good faith estimate for a simple STD test and HPV vaccine on the phone before scheduling an appointment but was told that was not the correct price and given the alleged correct price for all of my services which was higher then the original good faith estimated price.I still agreed to their price at the clinic that they quoted me in person and once I went to pay the bill I was given an even higher bill then what they quoted me.They corrected the bill manually which I then paid for in full and was told that is it until I received yet another bill in the mail from them recently on apparently oweing them even more money from my original appointment.I have contacted their billing department for 1 week straight and was promised a call back to correct this issue but nobody has contacted me back everyday that I have called in despite being promised a call back everyday from them. I finally received a call back from someone working at the local branch where they said that allegedly I was not billed for the HPV vaccine and why they sent me that bill when I was already told the full price including that vaccine at their clinic which I have paid for in full.Their billing department still refuses to call me back and explain themselves and I refuse to do business with an organization that continues to upcharge me for services that I have already paid for yet they refuse to amend. Be careful paying out of pocket or even using your insurance with them as they will attempt to extort you even when quoted prices via phone or even in person as they will not give you the real price until they are done tacking on anything to profit from.
Every single person I dealt with at this establishment was amazing. Super kind and explained everything for me in detail. The nurses and doctor made me feel super comfortable and provided me with anything I needed.
I recommended the cay galgon life centers instead. Where you cant see that your baby is gonna be your child and that is wonderful no matter what walk of life youre in
Great staff I have never had a staff team ! Every was so nice and pleasant I felt so safe
I had an overall great experience during this mentally traumatizing procedure with all staff & doctors. Especially the woman who held my hand during 🩵🙏🏼 god sent I swear! However, the one case worker who asks you how far you are after the ultrasound and has you sign stuff, scan the code, she was a young, maybe Spanish girl? - absolutely rude. Very unprofessional & I really wish she would have made it a better experience for me. It’s already mentally tolling coming here. She needs an attitude adjustment. Very judgmental.
I had such a great experience at this office. I had to go to planned parenthood because my regular doctors office was having some issues with my benefits. Because of this I was a little on edge at the planned parenthood office and was asking a ton of questions and was overall just pretty anxious. Every person at the front desk, my nurse and my doctor were so patient and kind. The doctor was one of the best I’ve had, she explained everything step by step and made me feel so comfortable. unfortunately I didn’t get anyone’s name but whoever was working around 330-5pm on March 22, you’re amazing!
They are very unprofessional. They scheduled me twice in a row for a Monday appointment and when I went in they were closed both times. They did not call me to tell me I need to reschedule. And what I am going In for is limit time. So now I had to find a new clinic with 4 days to spare. Horrible customer service.
I wish I could give this place a hundred stars. All of the staff were incredibly nice and helpful. They did everything in a timely manner as well. I was in at 11:20 and out by 2. Dr. Wang was AMAZING. I was very very nervous for my procedure. I had undergone the same procedure years ago at Allentown Women’s Center and it was the worst experience of my life. The pain was unimaginable and it had left me traumatized. My anxiety was so high preparing for that same type of pain again but it never happened! The procedure was super quick (under 5 minutes) and with very mild pain and discomfort. I left honestly shocked and so relieved by how easy it was. Everyone made me feel so comfortable from start to finish. I would recommend this place to anybody. If you want an unpleasant experience to be as calm and painless as possible, go here. Thank you everyone at PP Allentown!
There appears to be no way to call and ask questions of a real human being. The only phone number available is to book appointments and the only prompts available are to book an appointment. There is no way to contact via the website either.Edit- the below option worked, one would think it would be an option on the website or the phone prompts and people wouldnt have to leave negative Google reviews in order to get customer service
I dont think Ive ever been more annoyed than trying to get care here. I have been trying for two weeks now to effectively communicate and figure out why the local lab near me isnt getting the requests for my lab work from this planned Parenthood. Every single time Ive called here I have gotten voicemail. No matter the time I call durring the hours they are open, I get voicemail. I was told when I got called back that they would send things over again and try and call the labs themselves, but when I called the lab myself (a few times in the following days) they had nothing from planned Parenthood. I am tired of constantly calling and playing telephone when I was told that this would be simple and I would get it done last week.
Wish I could give more stars! The staff were INCREDIBLE and helpful and caring and everything I could’ve wanted. The doctor was helpful and receptive to my concerns. I had a better experience here than in past OBGYNs. Just an overall great experience. I have ZERO complaints.
Just to let everyone know it is not free it is $100 for a std tests. Update 12/28/23 there is a place in Bethlehem called Novus and they give FREE std testing and its really FREE of charge and if youre in need they also give free bottles of prep if your in need and there appointment are fast just call them the staff was so nice and they had drinks out in the waiting room they were perfect dont go to planned parenthood they just need youre money.
I was incredibly upset by the amount of time I had to wait for my process to finish. My appointment was at 11:20 am and they told me to arrive before the indicated time, which I obeyed; but when I arrived (before 11:20), they did not attend me at the agreed time, not even 11:20. The truth is, I expected that at 11:20 they would be doing the process, since they asked me to arrive earlier and I assumed that the reason was to be able to register and do everything that is done before the abortion. In total I spent 6 hours in the clinic and they were the most desperate hours of my life. I was one of the first to arrive and was the last to be served.
Apparently they offer hormones and “gender affirming care” to trans people but do not help regular women seeking hormone therapy for menopause symptoms. So focused on this tiny specialized group, what about normal women who need relief from debilitating menopause symptoms? Don’t we matter?Follow up: I called again and was told the same thing, no treatment for menopause. A total waste of time.
Planned Parenthood is just such an amazing organization in general, but I’d like to emphasize how well my visit went at this location. I scheduled to have my IUD removed, which was extremely scary and stressful for me as my IUD insertion was so horrifyingly painful that it was traumatic for me and I dreaded the day the thing would have to pass through my cervix again. Mary Beth Wolff was my care provider for this visit, and she is a true professional and fantastic at what she does—highly informative from start to finish, easy to talk to, and walked me through the removal in a way that actually made it a breeze despite the fact that I was verging on a panic attack the entire time. Most amazingly, she was extremely patient with me while I was showing clear signs of distress and was very very understanding about it all. I highly recommend this Planned Parenthood for any and all family planning or reproductive health needs for anybody from any walk of life who especially values great bedside manner and compassion from a health care worker.
Absolutely the most stressful and unprofessional experience I’ve ever had. I along with other branches of PP had been trying to get in contact with this branch via phone for over a week everyday before close and no one ever answered the phone. I drove there in person and was told they had “closed early” but there was an entire group of girls sitting there laughing by the phones. No one could help me regarding the results/apts I already had, because there were no doctors there. Apparently this is an issue all throughout the branches trying to get patients in contact with this Allentown location.
I want to start this review off by saying that I am not angry, just rather disappointed in the quality of my care. I had an appointment almost a month ago and I have been struggling to receive adequate communication with the telehealth agents as well as the clinicians regarding concerns that have arisen that seem to be coming up one after another. I shouldn’t have to say I have been waiting over a week for a response after sending 3 voicemails in regards to pre-authorization for a prescription and having to beg for it to be taken care of or acknowledged. It’s been almost a month and I have not been able to get the care for what the initial appointment was for. I have no where else to go for my care so I am trying to just be patient but frankly I believe my patience is being taken advantage of here. I am almost at a point of saying that either the telehealth services seems only take care of tasks when they feel like doing it or they aren’t organized properly at all, and the fact the patient portal is not utilized for easier communication only cements that concern. This is extremely unacceptable and I only hope that other patients aren’t running into this problem. I understand the influx of new patients, though it is not an excuse to neglect the ones you currently have who haven’t even received care yet.
Me and my fiancé went and first and for most they were horrible. From the lying saying one person was able to be in the room for comfortability reasons and we couldn’t go they said that’s what they are there for. Jokes I guess. They didn’t give her and medication and they took other people that didn’t have an earlier appointment than me . They are ridiculous.
Very grateful for the service I received from PP. The staff was friendly and efficient. The building was comfortable and clean, and parking in the garage around the corner is very convenient.
First and foremost I would like to emphasize how amazing Planned Parenthood is! I’m such a big advocate for Planned Parenthood because I think it’s amazing that they help not only young women but young men themselves! It’s amazing that you walk in there and you feel safe they make sure that you’re safe and comfortable and if you’re nervous the staff is amazing at calming you down! My regular OB/GYN gave me such trouble going on birth control because every choice I wanted he didn’t like but at Planned Parenthood they let me choose my birth control option and supported me in it! The doctors and the staff there are so incredibly nice and they are great! I’m currently a student at Lincoln Tech and I’m trying my hardest to do my Externship right here at planned parenthood in Allentown because it would be my honor to learn from the best people I’ve met!
All aspects of the staff/facility were 5 stars except for one staff member, who was so bad I have to bring my rating down for this. I want to start off by saying my nurse, ultrasound tech, and dr/assistant were AMAZING 5 stars for them. The intake person, Genesis, however was absolutely horrendous. She was degrading, showed 0 empathy, and was rude from the moment we started until I left her. When the ultrasound tech asked if I wanted to see the baby or know how far along I was, I said no, which the ultrasound tech respected. When I was sent back to the room with Gensis, she has my ultrasound on the screen and asked if I knew how far long I was and I said no I told her I didnt want to know, to which she replied by telling me anyways. When I started to cry she replied with calm down youre just making it worse for youself. She was short, rude and degrading on a day that was already the hardest day I will ever go through. Again I cannot reiterate how amazing, comforting and hospitable the rest of the staff was, but I am seriously considering taking action against Gensis because of the ultrasound issues.
The staff at this location were absolutely phenomenal. Everyone was so kind. I have zero complaints.I was 40 min late because I went to the wrong place & they still allowed me to keep my appointment. I secretly wish this location was closer to my home so I could continue to receive care there from this staff!
I had an incredible experience here! So beyond grateful for the very kind ladies who work here. Marybeth who was my doctor was incredibly knowledgeable & helpful! Thank you so much & I am forever grateful 🙏🏻💓
I love the Allentown Planned Parenthood! Ive sent my girlfriend over quite a few times now, and every time shes gone Ive had a very pleasant experience. The waiting lounge is especially pleasant, the pleather couches and the cool air is very therapeutic, especially for someone like me, I mean after all, were going here because Im pretty stressed out.
Place was very clean. The staff were all so nice and very informative. I had to wait a little but so worth it. Everything went smoothly. My first time going to a Planned Parenthood and I am very happy. Could not have had a better experience. :)
The place overall looks very strange. There is no parking outside, besides the paid parking meter on the street, which allows 30 mins max. So I had to run back and forth to re-pay for my parking so I wouldn’t get a ticket, as I spent over an hour and a half at the clinic. The door is buzz locked, which means someone has to push a button to let you in. The lobby is semi-clean. The signs on the walls saying no guns allowed, no picture taking allowed, no cellphone use allowed, or if in use- use it quitely, does not give a good feeling about the place. The clientele is all sorts of people, although it’s center city, so I guess you kinda have to expect that. The front desk is behind a thick glass with a microphone, never seen anything like that at any clinic. Most banks are more open than this place. Although the staff is phenomenal. From the reception ladies, the nurse, to the doctor Toni. Everyone was extremely nice, polite and very helpful. Toni was super awesome, very gentle and knowledgeable. I think it’s very needed at a place like this- when a checkup is uncomfortable and akward, they make it easier to go through. At the check out, something went wrong with their system, as I was told to pay a co-pay, when there shouldn’t have been one. However, even though it took quite some time, the ladies at the front fixed it, and I didn’t need to pay it.Overall the experience was good, but the place definitely needs a touch up.
Y’all are so annoying in the reviews. The staff at planned parenthood scheduled me for 10:40a and seen me no later than 10:55. The staff was amazing, supportive and extremely vocal step by step for me. I’m so grateful there are places that specialize in different care for anyone.
Staff was extremely nice and friendly. I dont know why so many of these reviews are bad - probably because this is one of the most protested clinics in the area so theyre getting some sabotage. I was in and out in a reasonable time and it was easy to make an appointment. Constant assurance that everything would be ok.
Nothing like going to a Planned Parenthood, making an appointment and arriving there 10 minutes early, only to be refused service because they’re out of Network. Like they actually refused me service even after I told them I’d spent over an hour waiting and $15 on a cab. Ridiculous, I expected better.
My girlfriend and I didn’t have a problem with the staff but we did think it’s a little ridiculous how long we had to wait. We had an 11 am appointment and they had us wait 6 hours before they did what was needed to be done. Why schedule someone for 11 if they won’t be seen till 4.
This is the third time now that Ive attempted to visit planned parenthood. Each time Ive called and scheduled an, appointment. The wait time is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous. The wait time is between 2-3 hours (not including the appt itself). Unfortunately, those of us that actually work for a living dont have 4+ hours to waste at a doctors office. Walk in visits shouldnt be accepted before scheduled appointments. People generally make appointments because that is the time schedule that they have open. Common sense. Good luck staying open planned parenthood :-)
Staff was incredibly polite and accommodating, went for a yearly test/ check up and all of my needs were met. All of the paper work was explained in depth lot and I felt comfortable every step of the way in the office.Baffled by the protestors wasting their time at 10 am protesting prolife and following me out to my car as I’m pulling away, informed them of their ignorance and the fact that they’re closing helpful facilities that lower cities especially like Allentown and stroudsburg are in need of.
I just wanted to thank all the women that work at this place. I have been here a handful of times and these women are some of the most kind, compassionate and friendly people I have ever met, especially in Allentown. They are supportive of your needs and wants and always make you feel comfortable and I cant thank them enough for the care they have given me.
Staff are rude, appointment times are never followed through, and when you call them they never answer. You can call every hour and no-one picks up! Waiting periods last for hours expect to be there all day! Most of all after my procedure is done I bled outrageously and call them for help, they told me, it is not our concern go to the hospital if you have an emergency. dont count on depending on them for answers. You will not be their problem after you pay. They do NOT care about you, its truly a business just for profit. I understand why people protest now. It is the sad truth they do NOT CARE.
They were really nice, the staff upfront were really kind as well as the staff in the back. Its easy to book a appointment and if you call them and they dont answer they call you back in less than a hour. They are knowledgeable, generous, understandable and even caring.
I had a great experience with the doctor at my appointment very helpful and explained everything to me..... HOWEVER I have been trying to contact the office for a activation number for my chart or for my results to be emailed I have literally been trying for over 3 days trying to get this informationI have been hung up on several times been transferred every time to someone who tells me they cant help.....VERY FRUSTRATING
I have had nothing but a positive experience every time Ive come in for an appointment. Ive been coming here for a little over a year now and Ive never had any problems. Ive always felt very comfortable here and the staff is always nice!
Some of the staff is incredibly ignorant and unpleasant. My experience here was horrible, I couldnt wait to leave the entire time. The staff up front are pleasant, however the way they treat you when you go to the back is enough for me to recommend you go to any other location that you can find. Anywhere has got to be better to this place.
Easy to schedule an appointment online. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff. This is the place to go for affordable health care of any kind. Highly recommend to everyone!
My appointment was at 12:25 and I still have not been seen today is 10/22/18 it is now 1:22 crazy just might have to find aNew place for a depo shot
Felt very comfortable with all the staff and doctors. They were soooo helpful. Recommend this place to anyone who needs this kind of help
Planned parenthood has always been a good experience for me . Staff has always been kind and helpful.
Most unrealistic place on earth trying to schedule anything even when u have to drive 4 hrs to get there
Horrible facility. Was told I was owed a refund and never got it! Then when I called to find out what happened they proceeded to try and tell me I was not owed the amount I was promised (it was written on a receipt). The staff was rude and insensitive.
This place is a joke if you’re a dude you can’t be with your partner they kick you out because males arnt authorized to be present
I dont know what I would do without planned parenthood! The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Very kind and empathetic staff!
Very clean establishment. Was seen very quickly and the staff personnel are great.
Everyone is so nice here and they’re extremely helpful.
