I love this practice. They are a small group with lots of familiar faces working behind the front desk who have been there for years. Their office staff is warm, friendly and always accommodating. I’ve really enjoyed working specifically with their IVF team and my doctor, Dr McCoy has been wonderful through all the ups and down that can be a part of this process. I have always felt welcome to ask lots questions and cannot recommend them enough.
Dr McCoy supported my husband and I from egg and sperm retrievals, through unexpected diagnoses needing treatment, and onto a successful frozen embryo transfer over the past year! He has been informative and kind to us. I was lucky enough to get the support of Hillary and Alison as nurses throughout our treatment with PREG and both of them have been nothing but helpful and caring. If you’re looking for a no nonsense, thoughtful medical care team to support you through fertility treatment in Asheville this is that team!
We can’t say enough wonderful things about PREG AVL! We started our fertility journey in 2022, and PREG has been with us every step of the way, through many ups and downs and unexpected challenges. Everyone was kind, professional, and incredibly supportive throughout our journey. Dr. McCoy and his team have helped us to build the family we’ve always dreamed of. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
PREG Asheville has been such a blessing to our family! Dr. McCoy has a plan for all possible scenarios, which was refreshing. I feel much lighter knowing that I have a team behind me no matter what.
The kindest people you will ever meet. We received excellent care while we were patients, and got our miracle thanks to their expertise and dedication to growing families. 10/10 recommend if you’re interested in starting the process!
We can’t say enough great things about PREG. From the start to end of our infertility journey, we have received nothing but wonderful care. Dr. McCoy and the Asheville team have carefully listened to us and provided the best information and care a long the way to helping us achieve our dream of a family. The whole staff honestly is like family to us now. We will definitely continue to use PREG in the future while continuing to grow our family!
Beyond thankful for Preg-Asheville and their amazing team! They were quick to respond to any needs or questions. They were always willing to listen and explain in detail. I will always be grateful for preg as they helped my family grow. I highly recommend anyone experiencing fertility issues to take a chance with Preg. They will become a second family!
My husband and I were referred to PREG for extenuating fertility issues and we have received nothing but the best!! Their care is exceptional—the staff is always kind and prompt at returning our calls and messages, you can tell they genuinely care about you throughout such a trying time. We cannot recommend them enough!
We are SO thankful for our time at PREG Asheville. Dr McCoy and the team of nurses could not have been better to work with. They did a great job talking us through each step of our plan. After struggling with infertility for almost 3 years and suffering 2 losses it was so refreshing to have a team that validated our feelings, gave us the facts/data we needed, explained all of the testing needed, but also gave us hope. We are currently expecting our miracle baby and wouldnt where we are without the PREG Asheville team. We were thrilled to graduate to our OB but also so sad to leave this incredible team!
We are incredibly grateful for the Asheville office team of nurses and Dr McCoy. We wouldn’t be on the road to parenthood if it wasn’t for them. This journey has been hard. Dr McCoy listened to our needs and wants for this journey. We struggled with 2 doctors prior to seeing him and felt like we were just a $ to them. Dr McCoy went above and beyond for us. So we are incredibly grateful for him. We can’t wait for him to meet our bundle of joy. He is the big reason this is all happening! PREG CARES! They treat you like family. We 100% recommend them. It was well worth the hour and a half drive to their office from our home. Thank you PREG STAFF for all you do for everyone who comes to you!
Dr McCoy and his team at PREG could not be any more wonderful! They have become family over the past couple years and we could not recommend them more. They make you feel comfortable and cared about from the second you enter their office. Everyone you meet is friendly and knowledgable and is only a phone call away if you have any questions throughout the process. We cant thank them enough for the excellent care that they provided. They are the best team around and we were blessed to have them taking care of us!
Everyone at PREG was really great and supportive. I was annoyed there werent any providers available between Christmas and New Years for a time sensitive test and it needed to be pushed out another month but that was the only issue I ever had. Nurses and doctors were very responsive when I had questions and sympathetic to my concerns. Hopefully I never need to return but I would in a heartbeat if I needed to!
Infertility grief is one of the hardest things that I’ve ever been through in my life. Dr McCoy and his staff made a heavy burden feel much lighter with their smiling faces and kind souls. Couldnt recommend them enough if I tried.Alexandra Johnson
Dr. McCoy has provided excellent care for 10 years. He has went above and beyond. We also loved Dr. Payne. Preg has been wonderful and we are so thankful for them. We welcome our miracle baby this July!
Let me start by saying the front desk staff and all all of the nurses/assistants we met are WONDERFUL.We met with Dr. McCoy. Not once did he take a second to introduce himself or ask us our names. He just sat us down and starting spewing numbers and terms. He basically rolled his eyes at any questions we had that questioned the spiel he probably gives every patient. He told me things that have since been deemed inaccurate by other fertility specialists elsewhere.Trust your gut. I wouldn’t recommend Dr. McCoy to anyone and we have been happy to go elsewhere.
I’ve been contemplating writing this review because of the big social media presence and hearing good stories in the past having people in my life who has had success but I had one of the most degrading unempathetic visits I’ve ever had by a doctor I would never ever want a vulnerable woman to experience what I did because I will never get this visit out of my head it will always stick with me. From the minute I walked into Dr. Nichols office I was met with just no kind of emotion he saw me and first words was “who sent you here?” I explained I saw the practice on social media I had a family friend who came in she was over weight as well and they helped her lose some weight and finally get pregnant they really did her right I went to the one in Asheville she went to the one in Greenville maybe that’s where I messed up he cut me off didn’t care and said there’s absolutely nothing he could do for me my BMI is high which I completely understand I’m on my weight loss journey and I’m still losing the weight but the way he approached it was the wrong was then he said well let’s have a look on the ultrasound I kid you not it was maybe one minute of “looking” and he said yeah your just too big for me to see anything which I’ve have these ultrasounds done multiple times at my OB and they get clear pictures all the time and that’s when I was 30 lbs heavier and he sent me for blood work but didn’t test me for any other causes of infertility like my OB did later after I told her the horrible story and found out I have hashimotos and we are working on it and I’ve lost more weight now that they know the issue. I feel extremely disrespected I left in tears just the way I was being treated I had my intake phone call I told her my weight and height didn’t say anything I did my paperwork and sent it in they didn’t say anything about my BMI being high or anything I drove over an hour to see them and I was very vulnerable and the person in this field I thought would understand and listen to me and he didn’t now my husband is getting billed when we paid all of our copays I would never give this company any kind of money or any support every doctor I’ve seen my therapist and tell them my experience they say that is disgusting how does he still have his license when he’s this evil of a person. I pray hard no other person has to get this kind of abuse I cry over this I know my weight is a problem I’ve heard it my whole life but I’m actively trying to change my ways and I’m proud of lost 50lbs I know I have a long way to go still just to be treated like this was uncalled for I shouldn’t keep silent about this when it could help someone in my shoes who are sensitive maybe pick another doctor or clinic the younger phlebotomist was absolutely a sweet heart and his nurse was too but everyone else could have been nicer.
I couldn’t say enough good things about Dr. McCoy and the entire PREG Asheville staff. From the moment we stepped foot into the clinic, we felt a sense of peace, comfort, and love. Through one of the hardest storms we’ve had to face, Dr. McCoy, Nurse Hillary, and so many others were our sense of calm. Infertility is never something a couple wants to face, but I’m so thankful God placed us at PREG so we would have the best team to fight this battle with. Thank you, PREG Asheville, for your constant love, support, encouragement, and guidance. Each of you are so loved and appreciated.
It’s hard to put into words how much PREG has meant to us. We have felt like family from the very beginning and they are so supportive every step of the way. We are now expecting twins, and this would not be possible without their help. We love all of our doctors and nurses and cannot wait to bring the babies to visit!
All I have to say is SHAME ON YOU Dr.Nicholas he devastated my best friend by first being rude, not introducing himself, and then literally calling her stupid to think that she would get pregnant because of her weight.!! She was so devastated!! The whole staff was incredibly RUDE! I wouldn’t suggest this place to my worst enemy. I don’t know if these these doctors think that you have to be a size 0 to get pregnant, but no matter what you took a Hippocratic oath do you no harm and you did harm to her mentally And trust me, you better believe there’s other fertility doctors out there that will realize sensitivity and caring goes along way. Don’t give these people your money.
We have just recently met with Tori in November for our initial consultation. She was very intelligent, kind, and provided a wonderful introduction to PREG. All of the office staff have been great and responsive to all my questions. Laurie, in finance, has been so helpful in explaining how to pay for services. Appreciative to have found PREG and looking forward to working with them as I know we are in excellent hands!
I would recommend PREG to anyone who is trying for their miracle baby! My husband and I seen Dr. Payne, and he was nothing but amazing! He was so caring and understanding of our situation, and VERY thorough with his medical practice. We had multiple tests and medications taken along with the fertility treatments, and after only two cycles we are 8 weeks pregnant and just graduated to our regular OB! I have PCOS and previous miscarriages we had been to multiple other doctors before trying to seek help, with either no luck or just flat out not being listened to. This was NOT the case with Dr. Payne and his staff at PREG. They are more than happy to help with any questions, concerns, or needs of their patients. I LOVE this facility and they do an amazing job of making their patients feel like family, and we will be back when we try again!
I had a terrible experience with this office. I called last year at the age of 43 to make an appointment. They took my info and made an appointment for a few months later. I was 44 at the time of the appointment. I showed up to the appointment and was quickly told that they would not try to do anything with my own eggs even though my insurance would cover the procedure due to my age. I was disappointed and shocked to hear that and really had wished they had told me their age policy on the phone when I had made the appointment because it wasted my precious time and precious eggs. The doctor Mc Coy had written a list of notes on a piece of paper that had a drawing of the female reproductive system on it but did not use this diagram in our conversation. The notes were not about anatomy. This seemed unprofessional. I also feel like I was treated poorly at the office when I requested a blood test before leaving. I ended up finding another out of state fertility clinic that was happy to work with my geriatric self. That appointment took a few months to get also. Since the new clinic was out of state, I needed a local facility that would be able to do my monitoring. I shouldnt have, but I asked PREG if they would be able to do this for me. They said they could and that since I had been there already I wouldnt need a new patient appointment. A little over a month later which was yesterday, it was my cycle day one and I was to call PREG to setup my baseline monitoring for Friday. When I called, I was told that they would not do my monitoring and then was hung up on. With this short notice, I am not able to find a replacement facility by Friday and this cycle is now going to be cancelled. Maybe if you are in your 20s they are less rude and harmful.
We love Dr. McCoy! Him and his team have been amazing through our whole journey! They are incredibly organized and made one of our toughest seasons a little better! We will forever be grateful for them!
We were sent to PREG after 2+ years of trying to conceive. The first time we met with Dr. McCoy I was automatically comforted by his in depth questions and answers to our fertility problems. We had testing done and thankfully got pregnant easily with their help. I cannot say enough great things about this office! Every phlebotomist, nurse, office staff, and physician were extremely professional and personable. I’m thankful we’ve been discharged from their care. I 100% would drive 2 hours to be seen by their office throughout my pregnancy if that was an option.
PREG changed our lives! We had a fabulous physician here (Dr. McCoy) who really listened to us and provided us with an excellent treatment plan to help us build our family. When youre in an appointment Dr. McCoy you really do feel like his only patient. Staff are so kind and responsive--it doesnt matter what department they are in. The nursing staff is very compassionate and thorough in answering any questions, and the administrative staff are cheery and always helpful. When youre in need of a Reproductive Endocrinologist every piece of your team matters. We felt supported and encouraged every step of the way. Thanks to PREG we were blessed with our beautiful daughter. We cant wait to work with them again ❤
We were brought to Dr. McCoy with PREG due to significant loss and heartbrokenness. We were broken when we walked through the doors of PREG in Asheville. We quickly started to have hope in the IVF journey and process as the office staff, nurses, doctors, and coordinators made us feel at home and have a peace. After retrieval and transfer, we were not sure what to expect, but they quickly gave us a plan to ease our minds. We were blessed to become pregnant after our first transfer. I would recommend Dr. McCoy and Mikayla over and over again due to the professionalism and the hope they both instilled in us through the entire process. IVF is a difficult task for any family, but not once was I nervous or made to feel like this was never a possibility. I am forever thankful for the care we received with PREG in Asheville and will recommend them time and time again for anyone that is in need of the IVF process.
Our IVF journey was a wonderful experience. The entire team (doctors, nurses, financial advisors) really made the IVF process so much easier on us and explained everything as we went along so we knew exactly what to expect. I felt very supported and our IVF coordinator, Mikayla, was always available for any questions and was really great to work with. This team has made our dreams come true and we will forever be grateful! I would highly recommend PREG for anyone struggling with fertility. I know when it’s time for our second go around we will definitely be coming back to PREG!
Rani and her team are wonderful! Dont hesitate to give them a call.
When my obgyn recommended I go to preg as the next step in my infertility journey because of my age I was a little unsure but I didnt want to go through another loss. Dr. Travis McCoy and his team were great! I am so glad this is the direction we went. Dr McCoy took out my huge cyst as well. I cant recommend this place enough!!! Im also leaving/graduating 8 months pregnant.
Dr. McCoy helped us become parents! We are forever thankful. The staff is amazing! Mikayla put up with all of my nonsense emails and always got back to me right away. Dr. McCoy was so happy for us! You can tell he truly wants to help. We will be using him again if we decide to do another embryo transfer. Our first transfer resulted in our little boy.
I truly cant say enough good things about Preg. I only wish I had transferred to them from my obgyn even sooner. They took the time to sit down with us and fully explain everything and answer every question. We were successful in our FIRST full cycle with them. Everyone there is kind and patient. There was 0 wait for each appointment and scheduling was so easy.
My husband and I have had a great experience working with PREG. All appointments have been timely. All staff we have encountered have been extremely kind and compassionate. We have had success with our IVF journey. Our Coordinator Mikayla was outstanding and answered all of my questions. Dr. Nichols was our physician and was great as well as Dr. McCoy and Dr. Payne that we seen for a few appointments. Highly recommend!
From the very start PREG has been nothing short of amazing! I am a younger patient (22 years old) and not once did the staff treat me any different because I am younger. I had Dr. McCoy as my doctor, he was excellent and truly cares. He delivers treatment quickly so you don’t have to wait a million years. The best part about PREG is their staff. Every time I went the staff went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. All the way from their front desk lady, their phlebotomist, nurses, and check out lady. Each individual plays an important role that creates a very comfortable welcoming atmosphere. Their phlebotomist is very sweet and knew I was scared of needles but helped me through it by talking to me and really caring that I was nervous! The front desk and check out ladies are extremely nice and welcoming! They always answer the phones very fast too which was nice! A huge shoutout to Dr. McCoys nurses, they are the best! I am young and this is all very new to me so I have had a ton of questions, every time I send a message through the PREG portal one of Dr. McCoys nurses responds very fast and with good detail to help answer my questions! Not once did they ever make me feel like my question was an inconvenience, they always made me feel important! Even during my appointment visits the nurses were so so nice and caring! I am so grateful to God for all PREG has done for me. I had a wonderful experience and will recommend them forever! Also I do want to add in that PREG is very affordable! I was able to pay for treatment out of pocket and I’m only 22 years old.
We started visiting PREG November 2022, this practice has the best staff. They always respond to calls/messages promptly. There is never a long wait for appointments. Every appointment we had was fast and informative. Cant stress enough how nice the staff is specially the nurses in the back. Highly recommend PREG!
I cannot recommend PREG enough! I was referred to Dr. McCoy due to my endometriosis, and I am so happy I found him and everyone here. They were knowledgeable, helpful, and uplifting the entire time. They were responsive with all of my many questions and worries, and always helped me feel at ease. I am now 9 weeks pregnant and am so very thankful. Thank you Dr. McCoy, Mikayla, and everyone at PREG. It feels bittersweet to “graduate” and go to my regular OB. My husband and I will forever be grateful to PREG for helping us get pregnant with our first little miracle!
I absolutely love this office! The staff here are very caring, compassionate and sensitive towards patients. My primary doctor is Dr. Payne, and I just absolutely love him. However I have seen Dr. Nichols and Dr. McCoy who are both wonderful! Let me also mention how wonderful Mary Elizabeth and Jessica are! Infertility is overwhelming, and the process of overcoming that is a headache. They hold your hand the entire way, and support you in every way they possibly can. Although, my fertility journey has been tumultuous and haven’t had a baby yet, I’m confident I’d eventually get pregnant and have a baby with their help and guidance. Too bad I’m moving away and will have to transfer care. I do love the folks here! I highly recommend Dr. Payne, Dr. Nichols or Dr. McCoy!
I can’t say enough positive things about this team! Dr. McCoy made my dreams come true with a positive and professional demeanor. His nurse Mikayla was an absolute angel. She was always there when I had a question or concern, always with kindness and patience. She is by far the best nurse I’ve ever experienced and I’m so thankful!
I went to PREG for a very different reason. Instead of fertility treatments I went to get something done about my endometriosis and PCOS. Dr. McCoy is an amazing doctor that you can tell loves his career and cares for his patients. I ended up needing a hysterectomy and my right ovary had to be removed. He’s listened to my concerns and decided a hysterectomy was the way to go. He did what he thought was best and I’m glad after fighting female doctors about a hysterectomy that he as a male knew that was the only way.I also want to thank Hiliary for being there when I needed it. Y’all better keep her. She kept me calm and she’s been a great person throughout the whole and kept me up to date on everything.I also want to thank the ladies at the front desk. They helped with billing and everything and put my mind to ease.I can’t compliment this office enough. I wish it was under different circumstances and I was going to plan the baby my wife and I always wanted. But we decided a long time ago to not bring any kids into this awful world.Very LGBTQ+ friendly as well!
Just 4 months after walking into PREG for the first time we celebrated conceiving our PREG miracle. We are due July 2023! We have been to the Spartanburg and Asheville offices and were treated like family at every visit. Our nurses and doctors believed in this process for us even when we doubted it ourselves at times. Infertility is an exhausting journey and PREG made it easier for us. They answered all of our questions, listened to our concerns, always answered the phone and got back to me when they said they would. If I could give them 100 stars I would! Thank you PREG!
Great experience! Dr McCoy did a thorough job reviewing my situation, analyzing my situation, formulating a plan, and then explaining it to me well. He spent a good amount of time to make sure I understood the problems and the game plan. Everything worked out as he just as he planned! Thank you!
We went for an initial appointment and decided not to go back. Dr. Payne was nice at first and then proceeded to talk quickly about treatment options without taking any pause to look at us or check if we had any questions. At one point I physically raised my hand to ask a question, like in a classroom, and he still didn’t take a break until I made a significant effort to verbally interrupt him. It felt like a monologue. We got the feeling that he’s been giving the same spiel to patients for decades and no longer cares if it makes sense or if people have questions. For medical care, you want to feel like your doctor sees you as a person and will listen to you. We decided not to proceed with any labs or treatments here. Billing also seems disorganized - we’ve received three separate bills for the single appointment. We’ve been happily receiving treatment at Carolinas Fertility Institute and we are SO happy with the doctors, nurses, and billing team there.Update: we conceived after three cycles of IUI with Carolinas fertility. Skip PREG.
Moving to 1 star. Please know that PREG permanently ends the patient relationship if you post a negative review, so if you need care from PREG, please dont post a negative review with your real name. I had a 2 star review originally due to my experience, and offered to remove it if they had a conversation about my concerns & engaged in staff training or protocol updating. They decided to not take me up on this written offer & instead had a not very professional staff person call me at 7:30am to tell me that uteruses change from month to month (as if a uterine septum, which is congenital, could be there one month and not the next...) and tell me I could never be a patient again. When I started my journey, I was not aware that infertility is one profession where the worse you are at it, the more money you make. I highly recommend that you check out ANY infertility provider on SART -- the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology. Check out the clinics results AND what % of their client data they are reporting for. And, choose wisely! Im so so grateful to be pregnant now (after just 2 tries at another provider), but it wasnt ever going to happen for me at PREG.My original review: I switched from PREG to Carolina Fertility & wish Id done so years before. 1. Carolina Fertilitys rate of pregnancy for my age group is TWICE that of Pregs. Check it out in SART yourself. 2. Some of PREGs medication protocols are out of date. After having 9 failed IUIs (6 medicated), I sought consultation from several other RE groups, and none used their protocols. 3. Dr. Nichols missed that I had a partial uterine septum when I had a hysteroscopy for polyps....and proceeded to do 6 more tries that would never have done anything but miscarry or fail to implant. This was expensive and heartbreaking. Dr. Yalsinkaya at Carolina Fertility caught it before ANY try occurred. 4. They have high turnover of nursing staff. There were two that were excellent, but several were not careful (telling me that my meds could NOT be causing my tachycardia, when that was a side effect; telling me to not worry when I had ridiculously high bleeding during an ectopic pregnancy. Their physicians are smart, and many of their staff are kind and good people, but after several years of trying on and off as we saved money, I got a sense that they do not pay their nursing staff enough for them to stick around to obtain expertise in their roles. I also did not experience them being thorough in checking for complications as to why miscarriages are happening or implantation is failing.
My wife and I cannot thank the people at PREG enough for helping us on our journey. They have been nothing less of fantastic to work with and would highly recommend them. A special thank you to Dr. McCoy and Mikayla, along with the entire Asheville and a Greenville team!
This place deserves no stars. They are only after you for your money. Had a D&C last year and was told by everyone there that I needed to send my claim in myself to my insurance company and they would reimburse my Anesthesia. The have told nothing but lies from the start of the surgery. Not to mention when the guy that came in with the needles to put me to sleep he put it in wrong instead of pulling the needle back out he just moved it around inside and caused me to pass out. My husband saw the whole thing and I felt it. Spoke to my insurance company and they stated that they should have put the claim in themselves instead of me Well now im out the part that should have been refunded.
Dr.McCoy, Mikayla, and all the PREG staff helped make our dreams of having a baby come true through IVF! We are forever thankful for all the love and support the clinic offered us through the process. :)
My husband & I struggled mightily to keep a pregnancy. We tried everything & sought out advice from multiple medical professionals. Six long years passed. Then, we got pregnant one last time on our own, which resulted in emergency surgery & my right Fallopian tube being removed. My tubes were blocked. The only safe way to conceive was through IVF. It was by fate that a former PREG patient reached out to me after I went public with our story. Every single praise she gave PREG was true. There was never a hesitation & I felt like this was exactly where we would find success. We did! We are currently expecting our miracle in March.
I’m sorry to see all the negative reviews, because I’ve had only positive experiences with PREG. From our first visit with Dr. Payne through the whole IVF procedure and post-transfer monitoring, we found the providers and staff to be kind, thorough, considerate, and efficient. We traveled a good distance (about 1.5 hours), and they worked with us to ensure we had convenient appointment times and to minimize our number of visits. They were better than our previous fertility clinic in virtually every respect, including price and technology/options. We successfully conceived our son through IVF and have returned to try for a second. I highly recommend PREG.
I have waited a few months to post this, but let’s just start with most of the nurses were great! I also really liked Dr. Payne. I only saw him once when I had my HSG procedure but he was so kind & reassuring during the process.I began treatment with preg in July of 2021. I’ve known I have PCOS for a few years. I met with Dr. Nichols briefly and we came up with a game plan. He did want me to do IUI first but understood I wasn’t quite ready for that yet. So we followed the plan for 5 months, and didn’t get pregnant. I then scheduled a follow up with Dr. Nichols. During this appointment, I was in his office MAYBE 3 minutes. He literally threw papers in the air nonchalantly that I had to catch, and they had generic information about percentages of success for different procedures. He had circled an age group on the paper for us that was 30-35 years old (I’m 25). Then when I asked him if he thought we should do IUI vs IVF, he said “it doesn’t really matter to me. The percentages are on the paper”.My husband and I then left and never went back. We never once got a phone call to see why we suddenly stopped coming or anything. When couples are going through fertility issues, they do need extra reassurance and guidance. I never felt reassured or really any guidance from Dr. Nichols. I felt like just another number, so we will be seeking fertility treatment somewhere else.*only reason it’s two stars and not one is because of how nice the nurses were to us during the process*
So far Ive only just had my initial consultation with Victoria Bishop, but I cant say enough positive things about just that one visit. Everyone was so friendly, they made sure I knew exactly what our costs would be for the different tests they recommended, and Victoria was so knowledgeable and seemed to genuinely care about helping us have a baby.My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for over 3 years now and all I can say is I wish Id gone to PREG sooner. Theres only so much that your regular OBGYN can do and its not their sole focus like it is at PREG. Im feeling very encouraged and will definitely update this review as we get further along in the process with them.UPDATED: In just one cycle with them, weve managed to conceive!! Theyve continued to be so helpful and encouraging throughout the entire process with great communication about each next step.
Had a few issues in the beginning with getting all the testing done and appointments made and people from PREG not calling back, but once I was through the initial set up (and paid up front in full), it was smooth sailing. The main Nurses and Docs were great during the shots, especially when I had a scare of a miscarriage. Even going to the SC office for the harvest and transfer wasnt too bad either. Id do it again, especially since I got a sweet baby boy out of it.
Talk about fast service! This place is so great! They are attentive and caring. I once mistook the nurse as a doctor because she was so informative. I personally was under the care of dr McCoy and he was able to answer all my questions and explain etiology/physiology Im detail! I can never Express how much I appreciate what they do! Ill be seeing them for my next baby!
I can not say enough about how wonderful all of the staff has been, especially Dr. McCoy. They have made a very challenging, emotional time in my life as smooth as possible. We are thankful we were referred here for help with fibroids and that Dr. McCoy provides options we did not have elsewhere.
The staff at PREG have been nothing but amazing and helpful to me. My nurse Mikayla always responds to my calls promptly and informs me of all my test results as soon as she receives them. I always feel comfortable at each and every appointment, and know that they are knowledgeable and have the same end goal as myself. I feel certain that the staff at PREG will continue to help me in my hopes to have a child. Highly recommend.
I have nothing but good things to say about PREG Asheville. We had our initial appointment with Dr. Payne and we let him know that we were hoping for a Thankgiving pregnancy announcement for our family (this was mid October). He assured us that, because we had done our initial bloodwork already, it was definitely possible for us to achieve that through IUI although we were skeptical that it may not take the first time. The whole staffed jumped right on it and got us set up to get the process started. A registered nurse was actually the one who did the insemination procedure and we could not have been happier! Mikayla Carver was so warm and comforting during the entire procedure and I swear it was 100% pain free and we were in and out in no time. The staff was very helpful in letting us know what to do once we left the office. We even had a small hiccup and needed a last minute blood test rushed off and they were very accommodating. We love Dr. Payne, Mikayla and the entire Preg staff and we cant wait to see them again for baby #2 next year!
I was very impressed with Dr. McCoy and his staff. I went to 3 other surgeons before deciding to get a hysterectomy. Dr. McCoy was able to remove my fibroids and uterus without making an incision. The other surgeons said they would need to make an incision due to the size of my fibroids and that I wouldnt be able to go back to work for 6 or more weeks as my job is fairly strenuous. I was back to work in 2 weeks. I feel better than I have in years. Dr. McCoy and the entire staff were very professional, kind and patient with me. I did a lot of research and if you need a myomectomy or hysterectomy, I couldnt recommend a better surgeon in the Asheville area. I cant imagine why they got a negative review.
There was nothing good or helpful about my experiences with Preg. The office staff were incompetent and couldnt correctly bill a simple procedure (I had to make multiple calls to my insurance company and hand-hold Pregs office staff to get them to fix it). We never saw the same doctor twice, and two out of three of the ones we saw acted like it was a serious inconvenience we were there. After only the most basic battery of tests, they started pushing us to do IVF, with no diagnosis and no clue how effective IVF would be for us. The entire staff, from receptionists to physicians, could seriously use some sensitivity training. The website is almost offensive with pictures of beautiful babies, which could make many women struggling with infertility fall apart, and the office is a cold utility closet in the bottom of the parking garage at MAHEC. With numerous IVF patients paying $10k+ out of pocket, couldnt they afford an office with at least one window to the outside? We did some research and decided it was worth it to pursue care at a completely different clinic in Greenville, SC. Totally worth the drive!
Weve been going to PREG for two months now, and the doctors, nurses and lab workers are so kind! I go to the Asheville office regularly, but the Spartanburg location is definitely my favorite because they play Christian music on the radio. All the medical staff are so helpful and understanding. I trust their recommendations and medical plans much more than my past OBGYN!The only complaint I have is the ladies in the front offices who answer the phones dont return voicemail messages and never seem very eager to help you talk with someone, especially when you really need to speak with a nurse. They just sort of cold transfer you and wish you the best. And I had a hard time trying to get something faxed to them. They kept saying they never received it but didnt initially call me to let me know, and it caused everything else to be delayed. It made our first month of treatment very frustrating. But all in all Im happy with our experience so far!
We are more than happy with our experience with Dr. Mccoy. He is extremely knowledgable, compassionate and takes the time to truly listen and explain so you feel fully aware of your situation. Im so grateful we found him to handle the much needed surgery he performed and for his care in my recovery. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to be treated for endometriosis like I did.
My husband & I went here for a few visits due to his struggles with fertility. His doctor made a plan for him for 5-6 months. We followed it & had another test done at the end of it. After the results came back we could never get a follow-up appointment despite my husband calling every couple of weeks for a few months. The receptionist repeatedly said one doctor had sign off on his information but, not the other & couldnt do anything til the other one did. At first, she said she had forgotten or something. But, after a couple of months & a few calls, it stopped making sense. He even called the doctor & never heard back. All they did was run a basic test & give him a common fertility drug. Nothing fancy. If, one cant do anything else, wed like to be told in person or by a courtesy call! Not having those who are being affected to be the ones who are left confused & looking for answers. Totally insensitive! Were going to a different doctor now totally outside of PREG. Maybe, well get real help.
This is by far the worst medical experience I have ever encountered. There is so much wrong with this practice, beginning with the uncaring nature from all employees and medical professionals, to the very obviously money-hungry interactions and environment seeping from each of them. From the nurses to the doctor, at no point did I feel respected or listened to. On their website, they claim to be leaders in the field of reproductive medicine, but what I experienced was a team of callous and uncaring people disinterested in my physical health. I went because Ive been having severe issues with my overall reproductive health and was recommended by my OBGYN to see a reproductive specialist. I explained to the doctor that I havent had a menstrual cycle in years, that I had PCOS, and there were problems with my uterus, in hopes of getting at least vague answers to my major problems, or even getting some testing done. The doctor sat at his desk, stared at me with blank eyes, and verbatim stated, if youre not trying to get pregnant right now, why are you here? I explained that while I am indeed not trying to get pregnant right this very second, I was looking for medical advice and potential treatment for my obviously serious reproductive problems. He ended the appointment shortly thereafter as he was in a hurry.Do not trust the positive reviews. Do not go here. Find yourself a practice elsewhere that will treat you like a person, listen to your problems, and not just look at you as a walking wallet.
I am saddened to share that this place does not help veterans. Piedmont accepts my health insurance (Optum United Healthcare) and I have a referral from Optum approving me for IVF services but they will not accept me because they don’t deal with the Veteran Affairs. I had an appointment on Monday October 4, 2021 and they told me that Friday October 1, 2021. I had to cancelled that appointment which I waited for several weeks since they are pretty booked for the month. If this is how you treat veterans then I don’t know what else to say except please opt out of Optum United Healthcare so you don’t get a sour taste in you mouth when the next veteran mentions the VA or come see you for help!
This clinic is only about money! I witnessed first hand the way they treated a family member of mine it was horrible. She has excellent coverage so the financial was not an issue until the staff made it one. They spoke to her in an unprofessional manner and were way out of line then the doctor backed them up. This is not the place to go if you want to be treated like a person in difficult times and IVF is a difficult road.
Everyone at PREG was amazing to work with & I’m so thankful for them and our chance at becoming parents. It wouldn’t of been possible without Dr. McCoy.
PREG along with GOD made our dreams come true! Dr. MCcoy and staff at PREG were wonderful and thanks to them we now have our miracle baby who is 10months old. Dr. McCoy is the best!
The staff are all so friendly and caring. They explain in detail health conditions and the steps to correct issues. My husband and I have been ttc for 3 years, and had we not been referred, we wouldnt have known about certain health conditions.
The staff was very friendly and professional. They made something that could be so stressful fun and enjoyable. We did not receive the news we wanted, but the staff did not make it into a doom and gloom scenario. The whole experience was amazing, and we cant wait for our results.
The staff are all extremely patient, knowledgeable, professional and caring. In such a delicate profession this makes a world of difference. Cant say enough good things. Would highly recommend.
The worst experience of my life. Dr. McCoy was horrible, unethical and did not respected me as a person at all.
We have so far had a wonderful experience.Everyone is so helpful and so proactive.Thankful for this practice!
We are very happy with PREG and our experience. And beyond blessed to have our little girl.
We went to this clinic for a second opinion and Dr. Nichols was very straightforward with us and we had worked out a plan however the staff member who dealt with billing insurance never really answered our questions nor called us back after repeated attempts to reach her.
Wonderful medical group with a stellar staff!
Very thorough, informative, patient and compassionate. Knowledgeable staff who helped ease my anxiety
