I want to say that I was in a terrible state from a previous general doctors advice and care, and the Fosnight Center in a way, saved my life. I was such a wreck physically, emotionally, mentally. I am so grateful to them. They truly care about their clients well-being, and I trust their knowledge and accountability. I am doing so much better, and it was almost overnight how improved I became under their care. I HIGHLY recommend. Thank you! :)
I originally started seeing Doug for PCP which I know they no longer offer, and I think that is a good decision. While Doug was amazing when we had visits, the office seems very unorganized and I had to message multiple times to get refills. I was discharged from the hospital and had some follow up questions about when to restart medications, etc, and I didn’t hear back from them for over a week.Because everyone in the office is extremely friendly and compassionate in person, I opted to start seeing Aleece for my gyn needs as well. She does have a great bedside manner, and I left my appointment feeling really positive. However, I began having heavy bleeding, including passing clots, which is not normal for me and I was very concerned. I sent a message through the portal on Tuesday, and when I hadn’t heard anything back I called on Thursday to follow up. The nurse said she would pass my message along as urgent and I would receive a call back that day. I never heard from them. After that, I was referred out for surgery. They originally faxed my records to the wrong clinic and even though they assured me they did finally fax my records where I requested them to be sent, that office never received them. The other doctor’s office also tried calling them and never received a call back. I ended up printing what I could from the patient portal and picking up my ultrasound results from the imaging clinic myself.I think what they have set out to do - to provide inclusive care - is a great offering, and I did mostly enjoy my in person interactions with everyone on the staff. But it shouldn’t be that difficult to get the care you need. It becomes extremely tiresome having to continually follow up and basically nag them to get what you need. If you are someone who just needs a yearly exam and has no other underlying conditions that will require follow up, this could probably be a good experience for you. If you are someone who wants to work in partnership with their doctor, go somewhere else.
As I begin my transitioning journey, I was looking for a good group of understanding people that could work with me and inform me. The group at Fosnight Center for Sexual Health is a great choice, if you are also looking for knowledgeable, kind, and *want* to work with people. Aleece has great enthusiasm, and team spirit. Q, the phlebotomist, radiated kindness and was fun to talk with, and Bailey was patient, and kind at the front desk through check in and check out. Overall, I am very much looking forward to my time with this team.If you are looking for an incredible, knowledgeable, dedicated, and kind staff to help you through Gender affirming care, Urological care, and other Sexual health care, I would say the Fosnight Center is a good match, I highly recommend them.
Had an incredible cupping and acupuncture session with Mary! My mobility has improved and I’ve been sleeping better after one visit. She listened intently to my concerns and gave great suggestions for after care. I will be going back because I know I will benefit from her wisdom long term.
I want to give a special shout out to Allie. Allie and I have been working together in PT for some time now and is seriously the most amazing PT. She is supportive, compassionate, kind and makes you feel seen, understood and safe. She is seriously THE BEST. Not to mention, I feel so much better and feel like I have the tools I need to manage my pain. I have loved working with Aleece, Doug, Sarah, Q and the rest of the practice as well. Great folks and so glad I found them!!
Simply amazing! This is such a revolutionary place, actually a pleasant health environment. Im an Herbalist and theyre totally open to working with and suggesting natural health options. Super body positive, theres not even a scale in the office 😲I saw Doug as my new primary and Aleece for Gyn. They gave me plenty of time to answer my questions and discuss all the options. I love this place!
I hesitate to write this because PA Aleece was very thorough and pleasant. However, I had a follow up telephone visit recently that I was never called for at the time of the appointment. I tried to call them but couldn’t get through because they hardly ever answer the phone and their recording hangs up on you. When I finally spoke with someone, she told me my visit had been a webex appointment and I missed it. This was incorrect, I’d specifically asked for a phone call when I scheduled. But even if it was actually a video call, I was never sent a WebEx link or even instructions on how to connect, so how was I supposed to make the appointment ? Finally got through and the office person hung up on me while I was trying to reschedule-It’s like she purposely tries to avoid dealing with patients. I then I tried to contact the office via email and was answered once to reschedule and then never answered again.I now have received a bill from Fosnight Center for an no show-$75 AND I’m out of what I’d hoped had been a great doctor. I’ve had to go find another doctor and now wait two more months for an appointment with them because of the issues and disorganization with the fosnight center office. It’s extremely frustrating, and I definitely will never recommend.
I feel so fortunate to have become a patient at Fosnight. I plan to obtain any medical services there that they offer! Aleece, Doug and Allie have worked with me (so far). I feel seen as my whole self by all of them! They bring valuable services to our community and have removed those common barriers around gender recognition. For those who have had difficult and tense experiences elsewhere, the difference here is obvious and remarkable.Aleece has helped me to understand my body in new ways, using plain language and patient-centered care.Allie is such a gift; she is so knowledgeable about the body (as a whole and in parts) and has helped me to begin retraining some unhelpful patterns in my body. She even helped me with something going on with my foot. She is consent-focused and explains things in ways I can understand, including with clever metaphors. Her personality is a total bonus! I am so lucky to be able to work with her and my inner nerd feels totally seen and accepted.I feel grateful and relieved to have found Doug as my PCP. I haven’t had a doctor to work with in many years. Even just to say “I have a doctor,” is a big deal to me, especially since he is so easy to talk to about whatever is going on. He has a very calm and reassuring presence. He is knowledgeable and helpful and uses integrative care in his approach. He takes his time with me to answer all my questions, which I believe should be the norm but because it isn’t, it makes his care exceptional and reflects positively on the whole practice. (Everyone takes time to answer questions here. Big deal!)Sarah and Casey in reception and Que, the medical assistant, have been wonderful to work with as well. I always feel at home when I walk in! To feel that way in a medical office is a great benefit I do not take for granted. Thank you, thank you, Fosnight! I’ll be singing your praises to anyone who will listen! 😂
***Edit*** I am editing my review again to 5 stars. I returned to the clinic today for my yearly well visit with Aleece. Her bedside manner is unmatched, she is extremely knowledgeable about her field and quite frankly one of the best healthcare providers that I’ve encountered for women’s health.I have changed my review because I received a call this morning from the Fosnight center and they were very understanding of my frustration and kind. I changed my rating because it seems there were some miscommunications due to an actual power outage yesterday between scheduling and the PT. I still feel that communication could have been much better with the people I spoke with yesterday when I arrived. I do appreciate the professionalism exhibited by the person that reached out to me today.
I’ve been underwhelmed. I find checking in is hard and there often isn’t staff available to do so. It’s hard to get through on phone or have a call returned. Additionally because of work and childcare arrangements I made apts in advance and I received a call to reschedule pushing my appointments a month out. My appointments and provider have been fine.
I really enjoyed my first appointment at the Fosnight Center. Everyone in the reception area was so polite and helpful. Doug Yozwiak was extremely helpful regarding my care and was a really down to earth guy and super easy to talk to. I struggle with anxiety in doctors offices but I felt very comfortable with Doug and the rest of the staff here.
Do you want a clinician who treats you as a patient and not a time slot? Look no further. Do you want inclusive, personalized care and a deep connection with your clinician? Look no further. Do you want a receptionist who knows your voice when you call their phone line? Look no further.I’ve been seeing Aleece for over two years now and I’d follow that woman anywhere. Her team is exceptional (that includes you too, Casey). Hands down the greatest gender affirming institution in the country, in the world. The Fosnight Center does such amazing things for its patients. I LOVE YOU GUYS.
Amazing experience!I went in for a yearly follow up. The atmosphere was fantastic very clean and light. The staff were welcoming and professional at the same time, which is hard to find. Aleece made me very comfortable and explained everything she was doing. We spoke about all things health and I was so happy with my appointment.
Ive been coming to Aleese Fosnight for years. Since back when she was in Brevard, I drove from North Asheville just to see her for treatment. Im so glad she moved to Asheville, just south of I-40 off Hendersonville Road. Im not surprised that her practice keeps growing. Shes still accepting new patients. I highly recommend her and her great staff!
I cannot sing the praise of the Fosnight Center loudly enough. As soon as I left the office I called my partner and three best friends to express how wonderful my experience was. I felt as though I mattered, my issues were valid, and Elise and I made a comprehensive and integrative treatment plan to address my needs. Also this was the first pain free Pap smear I have ever had. Viva La Fosnight!
I’ve struggled with pelvic floor pain for the past 7 years and genuinely thought there was no remedy. My therapist recommended the Fosnight Center as a safe space where I could seek out answers and proactive next steps. To say that I am thankful for the Fosnight Center would be an understatement.I was able to have an initial phone consult with Aleece, wherein she answered all of my questions and recommended I come in for pelvic floor physical therapy with Kristen.I’ve been working with Kristen for the last year and have seen such an incredible growth in myself and my relationship with my body. The Fosnight Center has been such an integral part of my healing process; the services they provide are life-altering and affirming.I’d highly recommend the Fosnight Center to anyone, but especially to those who have accepted their pain as being incurable or a hopeless situation — this is a one-of-a-kind place that will support you with compassion, innovative solutions, and an incredible team of providers.
Absolutely the most affirming and personalized practice Ive ever encountered. This was a far different (in a good way) experience than Ive ever had in the medical industry. Thank you for creating a space where I truly feel cared for!
I had a delightful experience. Aleece made such an effort to make me comfortable, and she took an exceptional amount of time to answer my questions in a way that I could understand.
Aleece and her team are THE BEST! I am so glad I found them. They really take the time to listen to all of your concerns. I feel so heard and seen and validated EVERY time.
One of the most friendly, professional, and gender affirming medical offices that I’ve ever had the pleasure of being a patient in. Not only are they a pillar of the trans community within every visit, but they have also adamantly advocated for me outside of my scheduled appointments. I can highly recommend the Fosnight Center if you’re an LGBTQ+ patient
I went for Integrative Medicine and am very happy to call Douglas James Yozwiak my new doctor. He explained many aspects and I got a bunch of blood testing done. We had a phone appointment to go over all of the results and ask any questions. YAY
I have been living with the constant discomfort of pelvic floor disorder for around 5 years now. This was the first time someone actually HEARD what I was telling them. The level of care and professionalism I received at Fosnight far surpassed any I have received in my 40 years on this 🌎. They are the new gold standard of treatment and patient care!
Aleece took care of my concerns and I got the appointments in as promised. Thanks for all your help Aleece!
Ive been seeing Dr Aleese for several years. Shes great. I live in Asheville, NC and was willing to see her when she used to be in Brevard, NC. Im thrilled she is now in Asheville. Her establishment is extremely clean, new and Covid compliant. Her staff is super efficient and helpful. Im so blessed to have her in my life for my health needs.
Aleece and her team are awesome. They really do care about their patients. Their bedside manner is impeccable. They are very LGBTQ friendly. I would recommend them to anyone i know.
Aleece is amazing, especially considering the risk tier level of people that she works with in general as well as other considerations too subsequently within her practice. 10/10 for compassion, experiance, consideration, and respect.
Very professional, yet still charismatic staff.Only been to one visit so far and I already have results. Cant wait to start PFT next session!
This place needs to get its hit together. I got a bill last year for the year prior, and I got a bill yesterday for last year. It’s a $100 unexpected expense, sequel. Displeasing to say the least.
Had a great experience, was able to have all questions answered and felt very comfortable. Love the technology!
Incredibly supportive and proactive practice that accepts my gender goals and helps with health issues with kindness and compassion
Leaves clients with no resources and lack empathy
Best experience. Getting myself back.
Great atmosphere and love the staff!
