I saw Dr Herrin for my prenatal care since November 2022. I didnt know what to expect since it was my first pregnancy, so I thought his multiple comments about my weight was genuine concern for my care. I saw four other providers in the office, none of them had concerns of my weight. I saw Dr Herrin several times in office. At 31 weeks our baby no longer had a heartbeat. He saw us in the hospital when we delivered. He saw me just over a week after we got home from the hospital. At my 6 week postpartum visit, he asks me Are you breastfeeding or bottle feeding?. My response was ...neither? because I couldnt tell if he was actually serious, but he was. He had the audacity to act like HE was the one that was confused because he responded with so youre not feeding your baby?. I had to remind him of my stillbirth to which his response was oh youre right Im sorry and then continued like it was a casual conversation. If I hadnt already been undressed for the pelvic exam I would have immediately walked out. He told me himself that he only has very few patients a year that lose their babies late term for no specific reason like I did. Youre in the business of prenatal care, and you FORGET that your patients baby died? And I know it for a fact that this was not a matter of not checking my chart or remembering me because as I was waiting in the room, I could hear him asking the nurse if I was doing my post partum glucose test because he still had an unreasonable concern for diabetes. My first pregnancy ended with trauma and its such a shame that I couldnt have even had a doctor who genuinely cared.
Dr. Herrin was a blessing to my friend, John, and his wife. He saved their precious baby girl. His calm, straightforward demeanor before and during delivery put them at ease.
Ive been going to Dr. Herrin for almost 20 years. He makes that dreaded yearly appointment as painless and comfortable as possible. I also really appreciate his follow-up. When he wants to chat about blood work or other results, he calls the patient directly. As busy as he is, that simple thing goes a long way. Thank you, Dr. Herrin!
We are very thankful for the doctors at Athens OB GYN. Dr. Herrin really took care of my son, daughter in law, and granddaughter. Praise, Jesus. We are forever grateful.
Dr Herrin was patient with listening to my concerns and even offered to have my primary doctor to send him my exrays so he could make sure he didnt miss anything although everything looked good from his exam.
Dr Herrin is so kind and pleasant. He is very thorough and makes you feel like you are the only patient he has and not rushing you out the door. I would recommend him to anyone!
I have had nothing but good experience with this office. Even with the covid19 issues going on I was always treated great. My normal check up visits have been quick too which is nice that I havent had to miss much of work. Im having twins so I have been seeing the same doctor since the beginning, Dr. Herrin. Hes been great.I am moving so Im also having to change doctors and Im very sad to leave. Thanks for all the support!
My experience with this OBGYN was terrible. I got there on time, filled out my paperwork, it was extremely overcrowded. Several patients that came in after me and filled out their paperwork went back to see the doctor before me. When I did go back, I wasnt listened to. They rushed everything that they did and didnt even attempt to go over my history. I was given a pregnancy test and an ultrasound, and told to come back in a month. During my pelvic exam, the male doctor was very rough and brutal, he could tell I was under discomfort and did not attempt to stop . I felt very violated, and like he didnt care at all. I also asked for iv hydration (i had been diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidum at my previous obgyn in California and to ensure my baby was getting enough nutrients and fluids, I had to have therapy twice a week) the doctor denied my request and basically ignored yhe fact that my urine was brown and I couldnt keep any fluids or food down. He told me to wait because I was close to my second trimester and it would go away, but with my condition it doesnt go away until mid pregnancy and I was already informed of that. I would prefer women be taken care of, and this doctor is the worst care I have received since being born. I wish 0 was a rating.
I have always had a great experience. Dr. Herrin always allowed me to ask questions. His Nurses are always polite and allow me to ask them questions.
I just met Dr. Herrin today and he is amazing. He is very kind and takes time to ask questions. Great doctor. Highly recommend him!
Unprofessional and mercurial.
