I had a wonderful experience at Magic City Wellness Center. The staff is incredibly welcoming, professional, and compassionate. They provide a wide range of services in a comfortable and inclusive environment, making sure everyone feels cared for. The team genuinely listens to your concerns and offers personalized care, ensuring you feel supported every step of the way. I highly recommend this center to anyone looking for high-quality healthcare, especially within the LGBTQ+ community. Their commitment to patient well-being is truly outstanding!Anastasia Vanderbilt

This office is really amazing and Im so grateful to have found them after some really terrible experiences with healthcare providers. Everyone here is super friendly and clearly cares about the patient. Everyone I interact with is respectful and friendly. Shana B. is my favorite healthcare provider Ive ever had. She is very warm and genuine. I feel very heard and understood when I talk to her, and she has provided great resources for me. She stays on top of my meds, my insurance referrals, and her responses on the patient portal are always very prompt, considered, and thorough. Ive never been so happy with my healthcare provider. It might sound like an exaggeration, but I truly mean this: having a great doctors office is life-changing. Thank you MCWC! 💗

The reasons this place gets one star is because the providers here are great and they take their time with patients. Although the office staff completely ruins the experience. I had to fight with them because they over charged me and then didnt want to respond to my calls or messages. I had to leave and find a new provider because they wouldnt call me back to schedule any appointments. The office staff must just sit there and do nothing all day. Def would not recommend this place to anyone.

Shana Wheeler, Nurse Practitioner, is by far the finest healthcare professional in all of Alabama(Including UAB). The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and highly competent.I love them.GO THERE!Dr. Steven Solomon

They no longer answer messages in the patient portal, rarely answer the phone, and when they do answer, they argue with you about correct information. I’ve had to call them multiple times for one rx because they could never send the right info or run the correct insurance. They’ve fallen apart over the years when it comes to communication.

I am so grateful for this clinic and the care I have received here. SB is so thorough and kind. From the minute you walk in, the whole staff is welcoming, warm, and friendly. I used to be terrified of the doctor, and MCWC has changed this for me in a major way! LOVE this place.

I’m so glad my friend recommended Magic City Wellness to me when I was looking for a new GP. I don’t know that I’ve ever had a provider that has spent the kind of time Terry Brock will spend to go over all my concerns, answer all my questions, and generally just be so ‘connected’ to my care. I can’t praise the staff here highly enough, from the front desk, to the phlebotomist, to the nurses and providers. They are all excellent, caring, and attentive. I couldn’t be more pleased, and it’s not often I feel like I’ve been able to say that about a practice. 5 stars, two thumbs up, and throw in a gold medal for good measure.

If your a member of the LGBTQ+ community this is the place to go. Ive never felt more welcomed and comfortable in a doctors office as I do here. The staff is amazing and is made up of truly compassionate people. By far the best clinic Ive ever been to.

Excellent staff. Compassionate and sympathetic. Im LGBT and they dont judge you at all. The only thing I would say if I had to say anything negative is there was a male doctor a bit too much touchy feely while talking with me. That could make some people feel very uncomfortable. Just something he probably need to watch.

I am extremely grateful that this is even available to our community as a whole.Speaking as an RN point of view, when I made my first phone call the staff was extremely professional and polite and understanding of my questions and I was actually able to converse with the doctor via phone and he was extremely well informed, professional , polite and took his time with every question I asked . I was extremely impressed with his knowledge and professionalism . Im looking forward to being a patient of his and this center as a whole . This is definitely the right place to be during a transition process to do things safely and get the best results from a transition of gender.- thank you all for what you do for our community and your professionalism with me- Blake

Very unprofessional. It snowed less than 1 inch and I guess they decided to take two days off work without notifying patients who had appointments for those days. I have tried to call nonstop and no one will answer. I drove all the way to Birmingham and spent $200 on a hotel room for two nights and they were closed. It’s sad that one of the only LGBT+ offices in Alabama is such a letdown.

MCWC shows a persistent and long-standing lack of organization and inability to communicate with clients. The phone frequently goes unanswered or is switched to the office is closed recording during listed business hours. It sometimes takes weeks to get prescription refills or make any other contact with the office. I often have to keep calling back throughout the week to ensure prescriptions ever get sent, which is exasperating given how difficult it is to reach anyone This is not a mere inconvenience, as even with seemingly sufficient planning its seriously impacting my physical and mental health. Even when an issue is present, test results are not communicated, and calling to follow up on them results in the same frustrating series of events.LGBTQ+ medical care is rare in Alabama, true, but seldom have I felt more like a second-class citizen than in trying to deal with MCWC. On top of the aforementioned trouble, when I do manage to reach somebody on the phone theyre often dismissive and rude. All of the half-dozen or so people in my social circle that go to MCWC are either currently or have recently experienced issues of some kind. One has started driving all the way to Atlanta due to dissatisfaction with their care, but most are stuck with MCWC as they are unable to go that far.I have no specific issues with the doctor or with nurse practitioners Ive seen, but the level of disorganization I continue to deal with is untenable, and it feels like the only reason it can persist is that many going to MCWC have no other choice of provider.Consider this my sincere plea for some sort of improvement. Please, MCWC, the LGBTQ+ community deserves better care than this.

I am amazed that a place like this exists only an hour away from me. I was feeling so scared and alone when I first arrived here, but the entire staff made me feel welcomed and treated me kindly and professionally. I can’t thank them enough for the lengths they went to in order to help me. I can’t recommend them enough.

They will not answer the phone when you call and they don’t call you to let you know your appointment is cancel when it snow. Very disappointed in this place I’ve been going in circles with them over a year now. I have decided I will be going to Atlanta and not wasting any more time at this place it is such a let down and it’s sad that’s how your treated.
