This place is all about the money. They wont even talk to you unless youre paid in full. My wife and I have eggs stored there and we can not even discuss what we can do with our eggs because the egg storage fee is not paid in full. We have paid about $27,000 plus hidden fees of anesthesia each visit to try and have a child. Id did not work fhe6first time. And we needed another $8k to try again.......I was told I could not have children due to my sperm motility, however my wife an I finally got pregnant about 1 month after trying to use IVF treatment to inmolan one of our eggs.
IVF Michigan created the most amazing experience for our growing family. After years of trying with no success, we were referred by at least 4 friends who recommended Dr. Hammoud. From the beginning, the entire team was communicative, friendly, patient with our questions, and informative about each step in the process. The team on the office side and the OR side are excellent, and theyve set the bar high for us as we graduate to our OBGYN... I wish we could stay here throughout the entire pregnancy! Special thanks to Michelle, Debbie, and Nicole for making a potentially stressful and anxious process into one that we will cherish. I cannot recommend IVF Michigan enough!
Edit: IVF clinic does care, theyve reached out to me and have been working with me on a lot of issues Ive had. Ive added 2 stars to my review and will adjust as I progress in this journey.Original review: I wish I could go somewhere else but I cant. I feel as if Im kept in the dark with every procedure or problem, where Im constantly pulling teeth to get information. I absolutely do not understand how theres nothing in their pt portal; no labs, procedure results, biopsy results, etc. Its the 21st century, come on! Im told my procedure is covered by insurance, only to get a surprise bill in the mail. Im currently looking at a $2300 bill that should have been covered by my insurance and its not. If you happen to have any questions, and call after hours, the main desk VM is full. If you call the nurses, theyll get back to you in 24-48 hours, which is very annoying considering things are time sensitive. Seriously, if you can go somewhere else, do it. Save yourself time and headache because this place is not good, for the amount of money it brings in.
Dr. Shamma is the best in this field. I never thought I would be able to have children and he proved me wrong. This has been a journey but a happy journey. I am older and always wanted child and he made it happen. 1 year after meeting Dr. Shamma I now have a beautiful baby boy. IVF Michigan is the place you want to go when thinking of IVF. The entire staff is amazing. They are the best at what they do.
My wife was a patient of Dr. Ahmad Hammoud at IVF Michigan Fertility Center in Bloomfield Hills in the spring of 2022 for IVF treatment. I’ve waited this long to write a review because I didn’t want any negative energy to affect our journey at other clinics. Now that we’ve found success elsewhere and have a baby, it’s time to share our experience at Bloomfield Hills. To put it bluntly, imagine getting IVF done at the local DMV—impersonal and indifferent. Here are a few specific issues we encountered:• When we had questions about the process, the nurses consistently deferred us to the ‘calendar,’ which turned out to be just a few dates with minimal information. Requests for clarification were met with subtle irritation. After several attempts to get more information, we gave up and resorted to Google.• The clinic preferred communication by email, and despite claims that they would return messages within a specific timeframe, this didn’t consistently happen. The front desk staff was sometimes rude to my wife, and billing was cryptic and unclear, taking weeks to resolve.• During the IVF process, my wife only saw the doctor once for a consultation and again during the egg retrieval. I was never allowed to see the doctor, not even in the waiting room. They cited COVID protocols, but even with proof of vaccination and a negative test, it wasn’t enough.• During one examination, the doctor mentioned that my wife’s uterus was ‘tilted’ and that a surgical procedure would be needed before implantation. However, after seeing two other IVF specialists at different clinics, this issue was never brought up again.• The instructions for IVF medications leading up to egg retrieval were unclear, requiring multiple emails for clarification.• After my wife’s egg retrieval, during which she was recovering from anesthesia, the clinic handed us a prescription instead of sending it to our local pharmacy, which they had on file. When we found that our local pharmacies didn’t carry the medication, I called the clinic for an alternative. The nurse insisted I drive back to the office to exchange the prescription—despite the fact that my wife had just undergone surgery and we live an hour away. Their response: “Sorry, that’s the rule.”• Unfortunately, our first cycle wasn’t successful. In the post-cycle Zoom consultation, the doctor offered no insight into why it failed or how we might improve our chances in the next cycle. The only recommendation was to purchase a bundled package of multiple cycles for a discount. In conclusion, our experience at Bloomfield Hills was negative. We later found a different clinic where we had a much better experience. The indifference at Bloomfield Hills brought my wife to tears on numerous occasions. As an insight into Bloomfield Hills, note that any negative feedback here is met with a generic, “1-800-DNT-CARE” response.
My husband and I went to IVF Michigan in Bloomfield Hills and worked with Dr. Hammoud. He was such a gentle and caring provider, and would recommend him, as well as his office, to any family member who needed help conceiving. The women in the office were outstanding and very supportive with what we needed. Thank you Dr. Hammoud and team for everything
I would definitely not recommend being a patient at IVF Michigan. We were patients for a while and had numerous issues. We switched to a different/more local office (Michigan Center for Women’s Health and Fertility) and the experience has been 10,000% better. Examples below:- offered a 15 minute consultation via Teams, never told it would cost money. sent a large bill after.- had blood work done. never received the results of the tests. Happened to be in the office for other appointments and saw my blood paperwork in the folder with the nurse. I had not good results (low levels) which I was never told about, and subsequently required us to change our course or treatment. We had to advocate for the change with the doctor (vs them taking initiative based on the blood work). Again, more money for a Teams meeting.- charged for an HSG and also a “trial catheter” and the notes for the latter were “easy insertion”. Checked with current doctor they would never be able to re-use these results because they are useless.- ~ 6 months later still having issues. Had an ultrasound with polyps identified by IVF Michigan during the HSG. We are now wondering about my fallopian tubes, and whether those should be evaluated. Current doctor said normally they can see if there are any filling defects in the fallopian tubes with the HSG that was done by IVF Michigan, but all they documented was the polyps. So again, will have to do re-tests because of poor documentation- they had very poor communication and information on what is being done, why, and costs.I could keep going…
Experience was terrible. Please advocate for your self. To begin the clinic told me my procedure would be covered. Which it was supposed to be through insurance. They completed the procedure without receiving a prior authorization back from my insurance company. Weeks after my retrieval that told me I would owe 12k. Why? Because the billed my procedure incorrectly. The billed it under PCOS which I do have however not infertility. Dr Shamma labeled me as infertile after doing many other treatments for fertility and not being able to conceive. They never fixed those codes which is all the insurance company requested in order for it to be paid which left me paying an out of pocket cost which I should not have done. Dr was very short and not personable. Transfer resulted in a miscarriage and dr said it was due to embryo and did not attempt to test me or anything else. Proceeded to almost do another transfer which they did label the codes correctly under INFERTILITY which would be covered. Why not fix it the first time? All of. A sudden next time it’s considered as infertility? I should be compensated due to an error done by your office. Decided to switch to another clinic and service has been absolutely amazing. I truly regret coming to IVF Michigan. Staff was extremely rude. Nurses were nice though.
Generally, IVF MI is an good place, based on my experience. But I have had a couple of instances that were not the best. Apart from one nurse (Nurse A*****) that I have encountered-can be rude and could show lack of compassion, the rest are generally kinder. The icing on the cake is this newer receptionist who decided to put me on hold when I called the COVID check-in number. I have NEVER been put on hold for COVID check-ins. It’s a VERY quick call and they let you come up in less than 30 seconds. However, this lady put me on hold for about 5 minutes. I literally walked from my car (parked at the far end of the lot), took the very slow elevator, then stood outside the clinic door and watched her (lady on the right) chat and giggle with the lady in the middle then got back to me on the call and said, “You can come up now.” No apologies, no explanations. She didn’t even ask me the COVID questions. She had to put me on hold for that?! As soon as she hung up, I walked in the door. She said, “You can grab a seat” in the most unfriendly tone. We go through a lot in this journey, I don’t think she understands that. She got time to chat while she puts us on hold. Pretty inconsiderate, in my opinion.
I had the best experience with IVF Michigan. I highly recommend to anyone who is considering the IVF process. I felt so safe and well taken care of. Dr. Hammoud, the nurses and staff were so lovely. I am so happy my journey was lead by them. I feel so grateful we are having a baby girl in August all thanks to Dr. Hammoud!
2024-We recently went back to IVF MI for baby #2 and I can say their standards and level of care have only gotten better, which I didn’t think was possible. From the front desk staff who greets you with a smile and learns your name, to Deb who drew my blood every appointment, to all my favorite nurses (Maddie G, Nicole K just to name a few), to the amazing doctors and lab staff, everyone there truly cares about helping you create your family. We’ve have seen Dr. Hammoud and Dr. Shamma and have nothing but amazing things to say about the both of them. They all listen to your questions or concerns without judgement and always talk through any procedures or processes with you. I am forever grateful for IVF MI.2022-My husband and I can’t say enough amazing things about Dr. Shamma and all the staff at IVF MI. Going through IVF is not easy and the staff here truly understands that. All of the nurses (especially Nicole and Brianna) were always so sweet and quick to answer any questions we had without any judgement. Dr. Shamma sincerely cares about his patients and always took the time to get to know us and address any concerns/questions we had. They treat all their patients with compassion and I will always recommend them for anyone going through the tough world of infertility.
As others have noted. The doctors are friendly and informative. But their staff is pretty bad. As many others have noted, this is not a mistake. The front desk people and nurses dont feel a lot of need to be respectful and helpful.Non-emergency calls can take up to 48 hours to respond to by nurses.Again, as others have noted, this is their intentional policy. Call that morning for help? Dont expect any answers for a good while, regardless of how much of a need you have for the answer.
I truly cant explain just how grateful we are for Dr. Hammoud and his staff. Being a nurse myself I have worked with many nurses and doctors and I can confidently say these are the best of the best. When we started our journey with infertility, we never imagined we would need to go through IVF. After three failed IUI’s, Dr. Hammoud and his staff communicated with us honestly and with compassion when the time for IVF came around. They were patient and understanding when we had many many questions.Dr. Hammoud always went out of his way to make sure my husband and I felt confident and safe throughout our IVF process. The communication with the nurses and the front desk staff was incredible. They always had a quick response rate and were always available to answer any questions we had. My husband and I are forever grateful. We can’t wait to bring our little rainbow baby back to meet the staff that helped make this all possible.
I HIGHLY recommend IVF Michigan and Ohio Fertility centers of West Bloomfield. The staff of trained nurses and doctors are absolutely top notch. They are kind and attentive, quick to respond and always helpful. During a time that is very emotional and sometimes very difficult, it was so comforting having a warm and caring staff to help answer my questions and put my fears at ease.I am pregnant with the miracle baby I have been longing for and it’s thanks to IVF Michigan and Ohio fertility center of West Bloomfield and Dr.Hammoud.
I highly recommend IVF of MI Bloomfield Hills. From the receptionists, amazing phlebotomist Deborah, the amazing nurses, and of course Dr. Hammoud, our dream of becoming parents is a soon to be reality. Everyone was so comforting throughout the way, from the very beginning of our journey. Infertility is painful enough to deal with, but everyone at the Bloomfield hills office gave me so much hope, so much comfort. Thank you for everything.
My husband and I went through IVF Michigan Fertility Center in Bloomfield Hills. Their staff were all amazing to work with and super compassionate. From the blood draw experience to the procedures itself, we had a great experience. Fortunately, these great experiences have led us to where we are now: 24 weeks pregnant and super excited to grow our little family.Thank you to everyone at IVF Michigan for everything you do and give to your patients. I know we all appreciate it, even on the roughest days. Which, with fertility, we have plenty of those.
After trying for 5 years to get pregnant we decided to go through IVF. There are not enough words to describe how great our experience was with IVF Michigan. Dr. Hammoud was great and so we’re all of the nurses. I appreciate them all so much for everything they’ve done for our growing family!
I got directed to work with Dr Hammoud after receiving a health diagnosis that required me to preserve my fertility before I could receive treatment. I met him on a telehealth call and was immediately impressed with how caring, and informative he was. He was quick to let me know that there was a foundation that would help me in my costs to preserve fertility, all because of my diagnosis - which impressed me that he was caring enough to offer that up to a patient who was in need. From that point on, we started the process of freezing eggs. His office was always professional and kind. My appointments were on time, and the office was a beautiful space. Everything from start to finish with Dr Hammoud was 10/10. I am so thankful to him and his team for all they did for me, my family, and my future family.
I couldn’t have asked for a better team to help make this beautiful miracle happen. My husband and I are forever thankful to Dr. Hammoud and his staff. The place itself was luxurious and all the nurses and staff you can tell are probably the best in the state. I’ve experienced other ivf fertility offices and none compare to this one. Just overall amazing and can’t wait to experience again next year with the hopefully 2nd baby. Thank you again IVF Michigan!!
Dr. Hummoud and his staff are wonderful. After 3 failed iuis, They helped me make my dreams come true of becoming a mom. They are so knowledgeable, helpful and supportive. Deciding to do IVF can be physically, emotionally and mentally draining, but with the support and knowledge from Dr. Hammoud and the stuff, made my experience humbling and less stressful. My husband and i will forever be grateful for this wonderful team.
Infertility can be stressful and scary but the team at IVF Michigan Bloomfield Hills are amazing and supportive. The whole team was very professional, caring, and helpful. I was impressed with the punctuality, my appointments were always timely and I was able to schedule with ease (which is one less stressor). Dr. Hammoud is very professional and knowledgeable about his field, but more importantly he is also caring and kind which makes this difficult experience so much better. I am more than happy with the care I received at this clinic, so much that I am actually sad about transitioning to my regular OBGYN after a successful IVF journey! A million thanks to IVF Michigan and I highly recommend this clinic to anyone seeking a fertility specialist.
It has been quite a journey with IVF Michigan! I was a little skeptical at first because there were a few communication challenges. I didn’t always hear back initially, the video link for the initial consult wasn’t sent to me so we had to reschedule, it seemed like I had to keep up on things myself to ensure they were done or communicated…but we stayed with them because my husband and I loved Dr. Shamma; he was very friendly, knowledgeable, confident. Then once we started the process with the testing and scheduling procedures and such, the staff was ON it. They kept in touch with me, were pretty quick to respond to emails, answered any question big or small! All through my egg retrieval, transfer, and subsequent follow ups, they were fantastic. The whole process of IVF is very overwhelming…just keeping track of what meds when to take when is like a job of its own…but they generated organized calendars and just made the process so much easier despite how much it can be to handle physically, mentally, and emotionally. After my embryo transfer and confirmed pregnancy, they saw me regularly, followed up with my regularly to keep track of meds, growth of the baby, etc. I got to the point where I could graduate from IVF, and the staff all clapped and did a couple sweet “ceremonial” type things for us. It was wonderful! I am now 19 weeks pregnant and have had excellent reports the whole time! We are very appreciative of IVF Michigan, Dr. Shamma, and the staff there (Deborah is the best phlebotomist EVER)…we are so glad we stuck with them as they have blessed us immensely!
Dr. Hammoud has always been very patient and thorough explaining everything to me. He was willing to listen to my concerns and suggestions based on other accounts and incorporated that into my care. The nursing staff were prompt in responding to emails and always encouraging. Lab staff were friendly and experienced. The only hiccup was taking a very long time to get itemized receipts to submit to Carrot or get returned phone calls from the billing department, which is the only reason I gave 4/5 stars. That was mostly resolved at the end of our IVF journey, however. Still waiting on a few loose ends. Overall I would definitely recommend IVF Michigan and their team! They gave us our miracle baby and we are forever grateful!
I’ve been a patient of Dr. Shamma’s since 2019 at this office. Everyone has always been so helpful to my husband and I. They’ve made a very difficult and emotional IVF journey easier to go through. Dr. Shamma is excellent! He always treated us with such compassion while getting us to a successful pregnancy. Our family wouldn’t be possible without him and his team and we’re so grateful for them!
We had such an amazing experience at IVF Michigan Bloomfield office. We went into our IVF journey nervous and feeling uneducated with it being our first cycle. From the moment we started with Dr.Shamma and his staff.. our worries eased up immediately and we felt so confident through the entire process. We are now blessed with our miracle baby because of them. I highly recommend IVF Michigan!
IVF Michigan has exceeded our expectations. From the front desk, to the nurses, to the doctors--everyone took so much care and time with us to make what couldve been a really intimidating process, a really smooth experience. We would recommend Dr. Shamma and his staff to anyone that needs help with their fertility journey!
My husband and I had a great experience with IVF Michigan. Through every step of our infertility journey they made us feel confident and comfortable. Every facility we visited was clean and inviting. Dr Hammoud and the nurses that work with him were extremely caring and explained everything in detail. His knowledge and experience was comforting and gave us hope during such a hard time. After one IVF cycle we have beautiful twins, we have God & IVF Michigan to thank!
Dr. Shamma and the Bloomfield hills staff are amazing.I was with the office for about 3 years and in that time, Dr. Shamma blessed me with 2 beautiful children. I do not have enough good things to say about the staff there, especially Michelle and all of the nurses. They truly care and go out of their way for you. I will forever be so grateful for Dr. Shamma and the entire Bloomfield hills team. Thank you!!
State of the art facility - new, clean, the patient rooms are roomy, and love that the surgery area is attached so you don’t have to travel to a separate office. We saw Dr. Hammoud and I honestly can’t say enough good things about him. He is very thorough, understanding and listened to all of my questions and concerns. He always made me feel comfortable in a pretty uncomfortable situation, which is infertility in itself. Needless to say we’ve graduated from IVF MI and now see our regular OB, and always talk about how we actually miss coming to this office and the quality of care that was provided to us. Thank you IVF MI for helping our dreams come true and for being our biggest supporters through it all!
Our experience with the doctors and staff at the Bloomfield Hills office of IVF Michigan was nothing short of perfection. The nursing staff is not only well-educated, but they are incredibly compassionate, informative, patient, and are very clearly in your corner. Dr. Hammoud was spectacular and will always hold a special place in our hearts for sticking it out with us and giving us our miracle baby. Our case was not the easiest, by far, and Dr. Hammoud’s compassion, attention to detail, expertise, honesty, and positive reinforcement helped our IVF experience to be one of success, and he will always be considered part of our family! We are completely indebted to him for giving us our precious, little miracle!
Wow. I’m in shock. My husband and I wanted to meet with this clinic to see if we could try for different treatments to help with baby making. At first when I first emailed them, they did not respond quickly, it took them a very long time to send an email. Then we went with another fertility clinic simply because they were responsive. Then we decided to try again and reach out. Luckily I had a portal so I used that to email them. My husband and I are deaf, we asked if they would be willing to provide an interpreter for our appointment and meetings.Their response was COLD. They said they would not provide an interpreter for us (which is a a first!). They said “it’s your responsibility to get an interpreter”. There are laws for the disabled that interpreters must be provided to accommodate us. Obviously they did not do their research and it just goes to show how cold and careless they are with including us as a couple to their clinic. Staff should be friendly and welcoming especially to potential newcomers. We’ve never experienced this discrimination before so it’s very saddening.
My husband and I had a great experience with IVF Michigan. Through every step of our infertility process they made us feel very comfortable. Dr Shamma and his staff that worked with us were extremely caring and explained everything thoroughly . He is a very caring doctor which made the process and the experience way more comforting for us. After one IVF cycle we had Daniel💙 Our pride and joy in this world!
Had such a bad experience with this location. I have been going back and Forth for almost 2 weeks with the nurse about making an appointment. The minute I was sent an appointment, I had to call off of work and had to find coverage, drove 40 minutes away, when I got to my appointment they claimed they did not have a file for me and I tried to show them emails. They disregarded my concerns, and kept bringing up that it was a glitch in the system and they were completely booked. This process is already difficult in general, and their treatment towards the situation made it worse. Even though the fault was on their end.
Dr Hammoud & the entire staff of IVF MI are wonderful. We always felt like we were heard & cared about. Special shout out to our nurse, Susan, who worked tirelessly to clear up insurance issues & made sure I was able to do my monitoring at a local clinic. The surgery staff, lab staff, embryologists, and office staff were absolutely wonderful. Without IVF MI, we would not have the beautiful family that we have!!
I had the best experience with IVF Michigan! Dr. Hammoud was positive throughout the entire process and sincerely cared about the outcome of our process. The nurses were all fabulous-- Susan Licari is a true angel of a nurse! Great experience from start to finish. 5 stars!
This is the absolute WORST doctors office I have ever dealt with. DO NOT USE THIS OFFICE! First they made me wait over 6 weeks to get my initial appointment, which I had to pay cash for whichbis already long, when the reason you are seeing them is to shorten your wait! Then, at this Telehealth appointment, after waiting 6 weeks, the doctor didnt even bother to show up. Then the office made me wait another 3 weeks to get a 2nd appointment when they were the ones that didnt show in the first place. Then, they arbitrarily canceled the 2nd appointment, without calling to tell me because they alleged to have not received paperwork that I had already provided them. Moreover, this paperwork they wanted was for past medical history, questions which would have literally taken the doctor less than 2 minutes to ask and answer. This place is OBVIOUSLY incompetent. Terrible experience already and I havent even been seen by a doctor or nurse. What could that possibly mean for actual treatment
My husband and I struggled with secondary infertility and Dr. Hammoud and the wonderful staff at the Bloomfield Hills office helped make our miracle baby girl possible. The office is a very warm and welcoming environment and the entire staff is extremely knowledgeable and kind. Both my husband and I ar visually impaired and we never felt like we were treated any differently despite that fact, so i can say with confidence that those with differences and disabilities will be treated with equal dignity and respect. We are forever grateful for all of you. We highly recommend IVF Michigan, they are the best!
Clerical staff and office workers are disorganized and dont seem to care. My wife was given other patients test results, not to mention multiple insurance mix ups and long wait times.Dr Hammoud was very nice and compassionate but their end game here is to push IVF. Maybe stupid on our part to go to a IVF specific fertility clinic, knowing that we would never do IVF. Unfortunately, we feel like we were pushed aside because of it
My husband and I can’t thank Dr. Shamma and the nurse staff at IVF MI enough. We could never repay them for the great care we received, the countless questions answered, treating us as more than just a number, and of course giving us the best gift of all- our son! We were very lucky to have won the Mojo Gives You A Baby contest, but the real luck was having Dr. Shamma as our RE. He was incredible, kind, and always so supportive. We are so blessed and we look forward to working with them again for our next babies.
There arent enough stars in the sky to reflect my true appreciation for IVF MI, Dr. Shamma and their entire staff. They were kind, professional and the best in their field. I have referred no less than 10 patients to IVF MI and all have been so pleased. IVF MI made my dream of becoming a mom a reality. We will forever be grateful.
We had seen several other fertility doctors and had unfortunately experienced four miscarriages. One of the doctors (California) even stated maybe we should have someone else carry our babies. We passed by IVF Michigan in Bloomfield Hills and spoke with Dr. Hammoud. He evaluated and easily discovered the issue and had a plan put together to correct the challenges. Today we have two beautiful twin boys, we were successful within 3 months of seeing Dr. Hammoud and highly reccomend him every chance we get. Thank you for our family!
A very close friend recently went to IVF Fertility Clinic and was telling me what an incredible all around experience it has been. She said the facility, the staff and the doctors helped to make what was a very emotionally and challenging time in her and her husbands life more promising, hopeful and ultimately exciting!! I would highly recommend them to anyone struggling with Fertility problems.
For nearly 5 years I struggled to get pregnant again (we had one child already) For some reason it wasnt happening and no one could seem to find out why. I saw a fertility specialist in Lansing and she didnt seem to have a clue, just kept having me do IUI over and over again. Finally I got fed up and did some online research and read wonderful things about IVF Michigan at Hurley in Flint. I was immediately impressed, everyone was warm, friendly, knowledgeable and I could tell they really wanted us to succeed. After a year or so of treatment I was able to get pregnant on my own somehow, but I soon lost first one, then a second baby to miscarriage. I had taken a break from fertility treatments due to stress. We had 8 frozen embryos I wanted to use, one more try we told ourselves. I called IVF and asked to see Dr. Abuzeid specifically. He asked me about the miscarriages, then asked me if Id ever had a 3D ultrasound. That was the one test Id never had. He smiled and said he had an idea what might be wrong. He did the ultrasound and his hunch was right. I had a uterine septum, I needed corrective surgery then we could try the frozen embryo transfer. I had surgery in April and by late June I was pregnant with triplets!!! We ended up with twins and they are happy and healthy now at 7 years old. IVF Michigan let me stay with them until I was 14 weeks pregnant, giving me tons of progesterone to make sure I didnt lose those babies. They put my mind at ease by letting me have many ultrasounds to make sure all was well. On top of all that they were super patient and helpful and let us make payments, which was amazing. I can HIGHLY recommend IVF Michigan to anyone, dont waste your precious time at other centers, go straight to IVF and if they can fix the problem they will! They are truly miracle workers!!!!!
Very poor customer service and shady practices. They have you go in and fill out a bunch of forms that need to be notarized laying out what procedures you would like done. My wife and I made sure we selected only a fresh transfer on those forms as that is what we wanted. Now come time for the process (after they told her what day to start taking meds) we are being told that we cant do a fresh transfer and have to pay for freezing and thawing because they didnt order the meds for a fresh transfer. On top of that they put in an order for almost 4x the amount of meds needed and obviously we were responsible for paying for those as well. The staff seems friendly until the process starts and they ha e collected the majority of the money so you are stuck w/ them and cant just ask for a refund and go somewhere else.
I don’t even know where to begin! Dr. Shamma and all the staff are absolutely amazing!! I am unable to get pregnant naturally and Dr. Shamma during our first telemed call told my husband and I, I will help you get pregnant! He didn’t lie! It was a long and scary process, I wouldn’t change a thing because I am pregnant with my first baby!! Hopefully in a few years when we come back for a hopeful second, Dr. Shamma will still be there! The only thing I wish was better was Billing!! Insurance covered ø and I bought packages for certain things and always had to call Donna to get them uncharged on my account! That was The Only problem I had! So please go to IVF Michigan you won’t be disappointed!!
I hate doing this, but I’m disappointed. My RE Hammoud was honest and informative when I initially spoke to him. I’m very new to this. Being my first IVF I would think I had more info from the nurses at the clinic. I’ve never injected myself, neither has my husband. They told me we would take a zoom class (due to COVID it was being done thru zoom) and it was 2 1/2 hours and would go over every medication and how to inject. Okay, so I was waiting.... then I get my period and they tell em I need to start my injections the next night! But, I do NOT know what to do. That night I injected 2 different meds, one was a pen and the other was a 2 part. Okay I thought I did it, until day 2 I realized I never injected the actual medicine from the pen because I was supposed to hold it down until the number thing went to 0!!!!! And not only that, I realized there was a different needle I needed for the other 2 part medication, and I had injected myself with the mixing needle ( you don’t want to know what that needle looked like or felt like)Then my husband has to give me the PIO intramuscular and he was freaking out because he was never trained or taught. So are we doing this right?Did my failed IVF not work because I messed up on the medication a few times and all they kept telling me was, it’s ok it’s easy. It’s easy for you, you are a nurse. It’s not easy. It wasn’t easy for my husband. You pay so much for the medication and don’t get trained on it. Shame. I wish I could of backed out the day I realized I never injected myself, but they already took my money. One of my clients l, who went to a different fertility clinic, was confused as to why I never took the class even it being on zoom like they said my husband and I would do. My client said she took a in person class pre COVID and It was at least 2 hours. She taught me about the pen and to hold it until the dial turns to 0. I mean really! Another person had to tell me this?Very unprofessional, not considerate of their patients time and money invested in all of this.I had to google and ask people who went elsewhere for info. How embarrassing for IVF Michigan
I was primarily seen as a patient in the East Lansing location, but my IUIs were completed in the Bloomfield Hills location. The andrology staff has a very high turnover rate. Which means there is a constant influx of staff with no experience completing a procedure which could result in pregnancy. My last IUI completed at this clinic was completed by someone who didnt have any experience. She had another andrology staff member overseeing her, but she was inexperienced. She was unprepared, didnt have the right tools and she physically hurt me to the point I had to say, this hurts I cannot do this. I have had reoccurring miscarriages, so this was not my first IUI. I also get pregnant very easily, but have issues staying pregnant. I strongly believe that the procedure was not completed properly based on previous experiences.I immediately called my nurses to lodge a complaint. I was brushed off and told, Well hopefully it was successful. I knew something wasnt right. I did lodge another written complaint to the nurses. I was extremely upset that my procedure was completed by someone who didnt have any experience and that I was being used as a training tool. This service is costly. I should be confident that staff is experienced and that I am being set up for success. This is a journey that is so important and I have been on for awhile. I was given a perfunctory apology, but the concern wasnt taken seriously, addressed, or passed to someone with authority so that it could be resolved. If you are serious about your pregnancy journey go to a center that cares about patients and creates the best situations for success. As a patient it is not for us to be used to train their staff and there should be some advance notice if that is the case so a patient has the option to refuse. Not only was this IUI experience very physically painful, but it is heartbreaking to think I wasted my time and money at this clinic with an inexperienced staff. Whats more important is that they just dont care.
Dr. Shamma, at IVF Michigan, literally help to make our dreams come true!! He was so kind to us, and very calm and patient through a long and extremely stressful process! We would recommend him and his wonderful staff, to any and all, who made be struggling with the heartache of infertility! Set the consultation, and let him tell you your options! This guy is top notch, and we will forever be grateful for our little Cole!! Thank you Dr. Shamma, and your wonderful staff! You all made a scary process not nearly so daunting!! You will have a spot in our hearts forever!!💜
I want to thank Dr. Hammond and his team for all there hard work! My husband and I are extremely pleased and overjoyed with our growing family. I had a lot of questions and somewhat a worry wart but the nurses especially Emily always talked me through and issues I had. I appreciate their patience and offering their support.
The front staff make it very difficult to schedule an appointment or get ahold of the nurses. They need to improve their customer service experience.Update : The manager Donna was very helpful and diligent with getting my appointment scheduled and I appreciate Lisa for reaching out in response to my review and bettering my experience.
Over the years, I have referred several friends to IVF Michigan Fertility Clinics, and they have all had extremely positive responses. Theyve told me the staff is wonderful, facility is beautiful, and the overall experience was handled with sensitivity and warmth.
My husband and I chose to try IUI after one year of no success at home (I am 39, he is 43). The procedure was done at the Bloomfield Hills office and I could not be happier with the treatment we received. Staff was caring and professional, and they explained everything step by step during the procedure. Plus complimentary juice, AND chapstick (it’s the little things in life!). We have been working with Dr. Cottrell in the Sylvania office, and the experience has been great there as well. We were fully informed of all statistics and costs upfront and have not felt pressured toward IVF at all. Dr. Cottrell also suggested supplements/vitamins such as CoQ10 to improve sperm quality, which improved morphology and total motility count. Glad to have them as partners on this sometimes long and tiresome journey.
I had a hysterocopy here in September and the entire staff was amazing. I had to come to have another to remove a septum in my uterus. Staff was pretty good. I didn’t have anyone the same except for the woman placing my IV. Surgery went well, when I woke up I was in a lot of pain. It wasn’t just cramping it was sharp pains, even my bottom hurt. I was fighting back tears and asked if I could have something to help. One nurse was super sweet and said yes and that I could go home with some. I told her that I would only need a couple to get through a bad day as I don’t take medications like that. Well the lady came in that did my IV made a huge deal about them giving me something for pain and especially sending me home with pain meds because “they don’t give out pain meds for a hysteroscopy” and the girl that said I could have them can’t write the prescription so she has no say so. And she didn’t even take it to consideration that I had a section of my uterus removed. Then proceeded to tell me that I was making out my pain to be more than it was and I’m mentally preparing myself to be In pain later just to get the meds to go home. I was extremely offended that I was treated that way by her and made out to be some druggie. Clearly I am on one medication and that is metformin for my pcos. I told her that I’m not some pill popper that I’m actually in pain and wasn’t asking for a huge prescription and told them I didn’t even need what they offered me to go home with in the first place. She scoffs and says yea well... as she walked out of my area. THEN tells the rest of the staff that I was seeking narcotics. Said it so loudly in fact me and my mother both heard her. So after that the rest of the staff treated me different, didn’t bother to check on me. Just very vaguely interacted with me as I was being discharged and no one said anything to me as I walked out. I work in the medical field and I know there is a huge issue with people misusing narcotics and I know things have to be strict but by no means does anyone deserve to feel that way or be treated that way. She was so offensive and rude. No reason for it. All I can say is thank goodness for my doctor who actually knows me and is extremely kind and cares about her patients.
My husband and I could not be happier with the care we received from Dr Shamma and his team! They always treated us like family and were nothing but great to us! Thanks to them,we have a beautiful baby girl!
Dr.Shamma is hands down the absolute best!!! I was given a realistic explanation that conceiving my son thru iui ,would probably be more than one shot for success. After talking to Shamma and telling i would only do ONE try asked him to let me condition my body for a month came back did that one shot on Dec 8, 18 gave birth to a happy healthy baby boy Aug 26th, 19 . The backing and confidence he gives you that he is positive he can get it done is exactly what made me choose him . In my journey i saw 2 other Drs over 3 years and neither gave me the THIS IS THE ONE feeling like him . I say all of this to say you will not regret choosing Dr. SHAMMA
If I could rate zero, I would. They push IVF! I had several bad experiences with this business. The very first appt, I stated I was being referred for two services and when we went it was two late to get any lab work done so I had to come back another day. On top of that, I asked for medical records took over a month and the first time I got a post it note that stated No records along with my signed waiver back...I was there 3 times...and they had no records? Also, left message for doctor and never got call back...you talk to nurses not doctors...First of all, I never agreed to do IVF...I found out I had a left hydrosalphinx and my concern was treating that first and also believed I had endometriosis...so they scheduled a lap procedure...and not even 15 hours before my surgery office called me stating insurance claim was denied so it was canceled. I had scheduled time off and parent flew into town to help me for my recovery...Comes to find out they submitted claim incorrectly! This was the worst experience of my life. I would highly advise you seek help elsewhere.Just an update, as I have seeked help elsewhere...I was diagnosed incorrectly...I have endometriosis and do not have hydrosalphinx or a blocked tube. I am so GLAD I continued looking elsewhere for help and had the lap procedure done thru a OBGYN it looks like my other opinions are correct that I have other options and IVF is NOT my only choice. As this is such a hard journey with numerous emotions please seek other options and do not believe that IVF is your only options without getting tons of others advice.
Nobody listens to the patient here. All they care about is charging you. They will order unnecessary tests and bloodwork and procedures that will cost you a fortune and unnecessary discomfort. You’ll never speak to the doctor (Shamma) directly, only his nurses.
Dr. Shamma and the staff at IFV of Michigan are the best. They treat you like family and give the best care possible. I would recommend anyone to this Fertility Clinic.
Dr. Hammoud and his team were excellent. They helped us every step of the way. Everyone made us feel comfortable and important. We couldnt have asked for a better group of people.
I have had friends struggling with fertility treated at IVF and they have all had incredible experiences. Amazing staff and Doctors. Highly recommend them.
Very professional staff, clean staff. The facility was clean, the DVD player was a little dated. Overall a unique and interesting experience!
Waste of time. Office girls avoid taking accountability for any screw ups on there end. Thought our hope would be to start the journey to have a baby only to show up and nothing but stress and heartache at the end. Nothing but the run around and garbage.
Called to make an appointment & receptionist was very rude. Refused to take my information. Said she could call me back at 1:30 but when I told her my lunch would be over by then she told me I needed to call back when I had more time?!?! I told her I guess I would try another office & she said okay....... guess they dont want patients.
If I could give 10 stars I would! Amazing, caring staff! Dr. Shamma is Wonderful. I never felt pushed or rushed to do anything.
I initially had a rough experience but lisa reached out and went above and beyond to try and make mine and my husbands experience better, hoping for more experiences with staff like her!
Everyone at the Bloomfield Hills location is very kind and caring. All of my concerns were taken seriously and answered in a timely manner.
Not a good experience at all. After my fertilization, no follow up calls. Thats the least I would expect. Very disappointed.
Dr. Shamma and staff are amazing!!!! Nothing but great things to say and thanks to them i have a little almost 4 year old miracle boy 💙💙💙
FAILED three IVF cycles. Go figure. this was at their RH clinic.
Very unprofessional, wouldnt recommend, staff just dont seem like they care!
Exceptionally Disorganized, do not care about patrons
Unfortunately i get negative !
They always made me feel confident throughout the entire process, the treatment was very humane and empathetic.
