So disappointed. Dr Corning was very nice and professional. However, after my 3rd visit there I was informed they did not accept my insurance. I provided my insurance card on my first visit. I was not informed before my appointment about the insurance. Arranged my day based on my appointment time, showed up to find out I’m out of network (could have called me before I came in). Office manager took me back to an exam room, stated they would discount my bill 75 dollars. I did not find that acceptable and told them I would pay half, they did not agree. I asked if I could speak with Dr Corning and was told she had patients and would not come in to speak to me (even though I was there for an appointment). No phone call from Dr Corning about my poor experience, or about my medications she recently changed. Make sure you find out yourself if you are in network, because their front desk obviously doesn’t check your insurance card and do their job (I also work in a medical office, and that is definitely not how we do things). So now, I’m stuck paying the full bill for a test I didn’t want done in the first place and was under the impression they would bill my insurance for the majority of it. Really wanted Dr Corning to be my doctor, but not if that is how her staff and manager run her office.
Got an appointment in a few days. On our first visit, she stayed with me for over an hour after closing to make sure I had all my questions answered. The doctor gave me an exam and non-invasive treatment under anesthesia that was simply not offered to me by any offices I tried to work with in Columbus, IN. I have PTSD and severe mental illness, which really complicated my treatment.I ended up having cancer and needing a hysterectomy. My situation isnt ideal, but the treatment could not have been better. I needed documentation from the office and they returned my paperwork within 30 minutes of me sending the request over.Ive never had a better provider. Dr Corning has been so compassionate and considerate. She worked so hard to make sure that I received the best care and that I always felt safe and heard. She never touched me without consent and was conscious of my comfort and anxiety in every moment of our time together.Without her, I may never have consented to treatment, and would be living with cancer growing inside of me. She saved my life.
Edit: extremely disappointed with the customer service the last couple of years. It takes months to a year to get an appointment, but they have no problem calling you with less than 24 hours notice to cancel your appointment because it was “scheduled at an inappropriate time.” When is the next appointment available? Well it’s either you will not have adequate time to request time off with your employer, or you can be rescheduled MONTHS out! The same story for two years now. I have no idea what they are doing here. I didn’t even have an annual appointment last year because it was canceled, and they call me to cancel again for this year. I’ve never had a follow up appointment for my IUD insertion. I’ve been experiencing pain for over a year now. Unfortunately I will have to find a new provider.Past review: I have been meaning to write a review for some time now. I have had nothing but a great experience here! I moved to Indianapolis and I still drive back to Bloomington because it’s so hard to find a Gynecologist that you trust will provide you the best care. Tara Quintana, NP went above and beyond in order to help me get my thyroid tested. I have an embarrassing history of passing out around needles, and was unable to get my blood drawn with my primary care provider in Ellettsville. I believe there was another nurse that helped with the process as well, but unfortunately I don’t remember her name. They had my blood drawn and even did the extra steps of communicating with my primary care provider in a completely different office.I recently had an IUD inserted by Dr. Corning. The pain level of the insertion was manageable and she was extremely quick (under 2 minutes). I have heard horror stories from peers who had terrible insertion experiences. I could have gotten an IUD much quicker at Planned Parenthood or IU Health, but I knew waiting for my IUD to be ordered and delivered to Dr. Corning’s office would be worth it.I am happy that I stumbled upon this office for my gynecological care some years ago. I will continue coming here!
I have been her patient for at least 23 years. Now I love up north but still come down yearly to see her. Her bedside manners is warm and kind and very knowledgeable. She had been my surge in twice with amazing results. I cant recommend her highly enough.
UPDATE: The provider (NP, Tara) that I saw left the practice. I was contacted the day before my annual appointment to reschedule. The date offered to me was several months away and I explained that based on family history, I was not comfortable waiting that long. The receptionist that I spoke with (I think Nicole) was rude and unaccommodating. Since she was not helpful, I asked to be contacted by the office manager when she was available. The office manager called while I was in a meeting at work and left a rude message that just said Nicole said I was supposed to call you so Im doing that. I decided then that I was not going to call back but rather seek out another provider. I am having to go outside of Bloomington, but the provider came highly recommended and I know I will be treated with compassion and respect as all all patients should be. I do not recommend this practice.*****************************************************************I walked out of this appointment feeling like this was the best experience with a physician’s office I’d ever had. It was wonderful from start to finish. The practice was recommended to me by a friend. I was able to get appointment within two weeks of when I called to schedule. The person I spoke on the phone with was very kind and helpful. Everyone I interacted with on the day of my appointment were kind and compassionate. Check in was east and I was taken to a room right away. I filled out paperwork and then a nurse/MA came in to take vitals and go over the intake forms. One thing that I especially appreciated is that they do not ask you to change into the gown until after you have met the provider. It was a much less awkward introduction when we were both fully clothed. The NP, Tara, was thorough and explained what she was going to do, why she was doing it and what it would feel like before she did it. This lessened the anxiety of being in an exceptionally vulnerable position. She also explained age appropriate screenings and the importance of them. I needed a diagnostic test for a health condition I was aware of and Tara included me in the decision making of whether to do it and where to do it. She listened to my concerns and answered all of my questions. She was patient and I did not ever feel rushed. I asked for advice on something that was out of her expertise and she offered a referral to another provider. Finally, at the end of my visit, she showed me where things were and explained what I needed to do before I left. I would highly recommend this practice if bedside manner is important to you in a provider.
Dr. Corning is really intelligent and good at what she does. She was thorough and kind at every appointment, walking me through every step of the process. Her treatment was a complete success and I couldnt be more grateful. Highly recommended.
I’ve been a longtime patient of Dr. Corning, and she is great. But after racing across town to make my appointment on time, only to be told that it had been cancelled, without an apology, was the last straw. I was told they “left a voicemail”, which I never received. Her staff clearly doesn’t care about customer service, so I won’t be back.
TLDR: I can’t say enough great things about Dr. Corning, Tara (the NP), and all the other staff. They’re truly wonderful!I initially found Dr. Corning 3 years ago and was blown away by her “bedside manner”. She was kind, knowledgeable, understanding, listened, and never rushed me. Unfortunately, with the pandemic, I let things lapse, so I started over again this year as a new patient. In the time since my last visit, a nurse practitioner was brought on - Tara. This is who now handles all exams and new patient appointments. Dr. Corning is still available to see after getting established, but with Tara here, she’s now able to focus more on surgery. I was very nervous to see someone new, but Tara immediately put me at ease. From the moment she walked in, she was a down to earth, calming force. She never made me feel rushed, listened, showed that she cared, and was very knowledgeable. After my new patient appointment with Tara, I scheduled to see Dr. Corning. She was just as great as I remembered her! She actually performed laparoscopic surgery on me about 2 weeks ago - I couldn’t be happier with the entire process and her surgical skill. For anyone reading that is stressing out and trying to find an understanding, non-judgmental, non-paternalistic, and childfree-friendly OBGYN office, this is your place.
Dr Corning is truly one awesome doctor-I have been seen by her for several years now and am very happy with the service I have received. She is very courteous, kind and great at explaining things thoroughly. I trust her and always have a good visit when I am there. Wait times are never an issue and they even squeezed me in when I was running behind. You can tell she is passionate and devoted to her work and her patients. I live in the Indy area and will happily drive down to be seen by her.
Dr Corning is the most compassionate doctor I have ever encountered. Her willingness to sit and explain things until you understand them and answer all of your questions amazes me. She went above and beyond her duty for me and I will forever be in her debt. Her bedside manner could be no better and her sense of humor and down to earth personality makes you feel as though you are talking to a friend. The wait in the office seems long but it is well worth the wait if you want the best.
I wish I could give 5 stars. Love Dr Corning but was switched from her to the new nurse practitioner without being told it was a permanent change. This is one of several communication issues. The new NP spent most of appointment sharing her own personal gyno history which is likely the reason she got my prescription incorrect.
No doctor has ever treated me the way Dr. Corning has treated me. She is so nice & approachable. She is an excellent surgen. I highly recommend her. She really cares about her patients & treats you as a person. She doesnt rush you, answers all of you questions & makes sure everything is good before she leaves the room. I didnt feel like just another patient while I was there. I will definitely continue to go to her. She really is a great doctor. Her office staff is very friendly & they also treat you like a person & not just a patient. Keep up the amazing work!
Never got to see a doctor but I had some experience with their staff. I had to reschedule an appointment from December for the first week of January. I Uber to that appointment because my car is in the shop, only to be told once I get there that I don’t have an appointment, that I’d cancelled. I definitely did not cancel, I’d put that appointment in my calendar while I was on the phone with them rescheduling. I reschedule again for a few weeks later. This time I make a mistake and miss my 8am appointment. They charge me $100 dollars and blacklist me from ever making an appointment again. So if they make a mistake that wastes your time and money, tough luck. But if you make a mistake, you’ll get charged and blacklisted.
Big giant 0. I was 8 minutes late coming from 1 hour away very first time. They wouldn’t take me because I was 8 minutes late. Ruined my whole day and I will probably never go get my issues looked at because I’m so turned off by doctora now.
Long time patient and can’t say enough good things about Dr. Kinsey Corning. However not sure what happened to her staff… I can’t count how many times I’ve left work for an appointment & had to sit in the parking lot to wait for them to return from lunch (late), well past my appointment time because the door was locked & no one in the office. No call, no note on the door, etc. I arrive 15 min late due to construction on 45 and they have to reschedule me?? Really?.. Not sure what has happened to this world or healthcare providers in this town. Why is your time more valuable than mine? Not to mention the blatant rude attitudes.
I’ve had such an incredible experience with Dr. Corning and her office. Dr. Corning has been compassionate, thorough, and respectful of my wishes from day one. I was worried that I would have difficulty seeking an endometrial ablation due to my young age, but my wishes not to have children were never challenged and my personal well-being was prioritized every step of the way. Would highly recommend!!!
My most recent experience at Dr Cornings office was a huge disappointment. I have been a patient for a few years and had some tests done at my last appointment. I did not receive any information and had to follow up after waiting a week for the results I was told to expect in a few days. I was told Dr Corning thought she had an appointment for me to come back in and talk about the results but that was never scheduled. Instead I got a diagnosis over the phone with no advice or reassurance. The next time I heard from the office was about collecting a bill I received late due to a change in address. Maybe they have too many patients or are under-staffed but it doesnt reflect well that they can be diligent about collecting money but not patient well-being.
I waited like two years to get into Dr Cornings office and it was totally worth it. She is a kind and compassionate. Additionally, if annual exams make you uncomfortable, talk to her about it and she will make accommodations.
I wish her staff were a bit more upfront. Ive been trying to schedule a post-op after a surgery I had out of town and I need an appointment soon so that I can be cleared for PFT. Her staff first told me my insurance might not cover the visit because I was a new patient and she hadnt treated me for the condition before the surgery. I told them I would check with insurance and call back. Then when I called back, again I said at the very beginning that I was a new patient wanting to schedule an appointment. They asked me what I wanted the appointment for and explained again, including that I had checked with insurance. Then they told me they are not accepting new patients at this time. I have been in more pain than expected after surgery and wanted to see someone as soon as I could, and now its going to take longer because of this run-around. I wish they wouldve told me when I first called that they arent accepting new patients.
Dr. Wendy Corning is just THE BEST!!! What a wonderful, encouraging and skilled staff she has, as well! I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Corning to give the best of care in a timely manner.
Dr. Corning is an AMAZING doctor and surgeon, she really does cares about her patiences and she is just a wonderful person overall. Her staff is just as friendly and they are very professional. Dr. Corning is one the best doctors we have in Bloomington. I just wish she still delivered babies.
I dont think I can find the words to fully describe my appreciation to Dr. Corning and her staff, especially Brooke! They have been amazing throughout the entire process of my hysterectomy! I am so thankful that I found such a great doctor!
I never thought that I would say something like this…Two months ago, I went to get my annual exam and had one of the best experiences I have ever had with a doctor. I felt like she listened, she saw me and cared. She asks questions, reflects that she hears your response and when possible adds a little levity to the conversation. She is personable and accessible when it counts…
Her practice appears to have problems with communication. They claim they call but dont and then are quick to push you to the next surgeon due to circumstances beyond your control if you miss a singular appointment on top of their 100.00 fee.
Dr. Corning is hands down the best gyno in Bloomington. Her bedside manner is incredible. Ive had a tubal litigation from her and I hope I never have to see another gynecologist.
Dr. Corning is absolutely amazing. Detail oriented, compassionate, and willing to really hear the patient.
Always a great visit. Staff very friendly. Dr Corning is very knowledgeable, kind, and caring. Best in town. Thank you!
Was referred to her office by my doctor for surgery referral, her office did not call me back, it was three months, I called them, they said I had an appointment there in 2010 and didn’t keep it so they would not see me very rude, I have never done business with this doctor didn’t have an appointment in 2010, very rude staff
Her staff diagnosed a problem multiple doctors has misdiagnosed. I love this office, and Dr. Corning explains absolutely everything before, during and after she does it.
Wonderful doctor and I would recommend her to anyone. She was thorough in answering questions and explaining anything I needed further details about. Her staff is top notch.
Scammed me. Kept my medical problem recurrent so she could keep making money off of my visits. Seeing a better doctor now.
