It’s such a shame how this location is very inconsistent with the patients in regards to scheduling. There is absolutely no sense of urgency and it’s almost impossible to schedule at an according time frame since the appointment times are so far out. I have been a patient at the Brentwood location since I was 7-8 years old and I kept coming here due to insurance since I have Medicaid. I never knew there were much better clinics and primary Doctors that accept Medicaid throughout the island since it’s very complex to find a participating provider. I have found a much better doctor with very polite and professional staff elsewhere unlike the employees at Sun River Health in Brentwood what a pity…..
Its been 5 times now that my parents schedule urgent appointments and when they arrive their appointments are not there. Upon reading other reviews I realize that they are not alone in this. Its quite sad that this clinic has stooped this low. The staff is very rude, the providers are dismissive and careless. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone and will soon be switching them to a different clinic.
Upon arriving for my appointment, only to be told that it was canceled and no one knows why or could tell why. The lady I was sent to in order to reschedule had an attitude and had the nerve to ask if I signed my name on a clipboard that was not visible and accessible for me to sign. Its ridiculous and unprofessional to have someone show up at an appointment that was confirmed, only to be told it was canceled with no explanation.
After waiting for four months, Sun River canceled my appointment upon my arrival and they had the audacity to ask if I wanted to reschedule and wait an extra three months.
A year ago in another places I had laboratory tests and on several occasions as well and nothing like this. On Thursday last week, I went to have my laboratory tests done and the person who did it to me had a bad and abrupt attitude.Apart from that, when she inserted the needle when inserting the tube to collect the blood, she did not take any precautions and hurt me.Its been more than a week and my arm is still getting blacker and more painful.It would be good for the laboratory administration to focus on these reviews, aiming for its employees to provide better human warmth and focus on doing a good job.I say that because many people were complaining about the same thing.
One of the most worst front desk service I ever seen in SunRiver Health at Brentwood, New York. To make a doctor appointment i had waited more then an hour and after that they are asking me to call a number to make an appointment with doctor. What a service!!!
I will be reporting this center to the NYS Department of Health. Im a healthcare worker for 20+ years the service during my visit 8/31/23 is unacceptable. PA that I had didnt listen to my reason for being there I came because I was in pain, even with the diagnosis on my summary yet I received no treatment Im in pain today as I was before my visit here. I was told to wait 2 days before I can even be treated as I mentioned to the PA (I know my body) as she stated on my summary.
They canceled and shuffled me aside so the appointment I waited 6 months for was postponed another 4 months. I was in severe pain and brought my business elsewhere. They were hard to work with and it was impossible to get a sooner appointment. Go somewhere else
Calls are never returned. They do not respond to the pharmacy. I have had prescriptions canceled due to non response from this clinic. I was sent a letter advising that an appointment for an endocrinologist in Medford (far from me) was made for me. When I called, I was advised there was NO record of that appointment for me. I called the endocrinologist, there WAS an appointment for me, so I canceled it myself. was also told that there was a teleconference apppt for me, which I never made. I waited for the call, no one called.
When you read the previous reviews the consensus are not exaggerating. I called them before reading the patrons evaluations and am able to confirm their complaints. Sorry to say, the answering service is that awful.There were several attempts made by me resulting in zero for getting an appointment. My best success was being placed on a eternity felt hold.If you are on a sinking ship for immediate assistance. You may start considering other options. Or you may need to visit there in person. The customer service have to improve for the operations best interests and their clients.On a latter visit after the above expressed, I came for a medical reason believing a direct personal attendance is better chance than phoning for an appointment. To the left of the entrance against the wall a dozen of people were waiting in line. This is the emergency visit line I was told.To wait my turn with them was not an option for me due to a disability. My departure was in some minutes. It is hopeful the instance was a one-occasion, not a practice. And, if the facility improved elsewhere offering their services to the Brentwood community.
The worst experience ever. They cancel your appointment without notice. The persons in customer service dont care about the patients. They take forever to call you, even though They are doing nothing, just fooling around. They talk about you thinking you dont understand english (front desk).
I been going to hrh care since I was 5 and this year I’ll be 22, This facility is the worst doctor office I have ever been too, I got sick so many times, Dermatitis on my leg which I had a appointment at 8am and they didn’t open till 10;30 and there was 25 people waiting outside in the cold when it was the first snow storm and they said they had a meeting at 7am... I went there today on 8/15/18 around 11am and they told me that I now Have to make a appointment to get a paper signed for my new job which I never had to do before, the staff are rude & nasty when you explain a issue or problem, never pick up the phones, & hangs up on you when you correct them, & you wait long hours just to see a doctor I would never recommend this place to anyone, this place needs a chance & more friendly staff that actually do their jobs !!!! Can’t wait to change my doctor & office ...
Not being able to properly call to make an appointment is horrible. I have to call the central office, have them possibly call me back, and go from there. I dont drive. I dont have a car. Im not spending $20 on an Uber just to go and make an appointment.At least the dentist follows up, but to see a doctor is impossible.Edit: Even the dentist messed up. They changed my appointment from dentist to family doctor and wouldnt fit me in to fix their mistake. Out $40 and no progress on my teeth issues, including one that they messed up on a long while back. Im in the process of going somewhere else.
The pcp there is very smart so my family prefers going there. The wait time is literally hours. You’re going to need the whole day to be there. The staff is rude and always in a rush. They don’t answer your questions correctly and always misguide you. If your appointment is at 2 you’re gonna be called in after 3 and then you’re gonna have to sit in the room for another hour to be seen by the doctor. I dont go to this location but had to go with my mom as her interpreter and I had to miss work because when I called them they said it is not going to take more than an hour and it was 4 hours actually. They gave me wrong info on the phone and got rude when I said that I had to be at work and was told it was gonna take an hour.
It is the slowest clinic Ive been to, Ive been here since I was a kid and I am definitely moving to somewhere else. The lab is slowest too, I waited 2 hours to get my blood drawn. The phones are the worst, they dont answer until an hour or so later to get hanged up on.Today I went to my appointment at 2p, for them to tell me that they canceled it because they double-booked. No one called to let me know. They told me to go to urgent care. So I did, for the doctor not to examine me and tell me to take some Tylenol. I wasnt treated how I was supposed to so I went home. Every time I have to go to an appointment at the dentist at Sun River Health, I cringe because the service is so horrible. The young lady that sits in the front always has an attitude and always looks like she doesn’t know what she is doing. When you ask questions she gets very annoyed. The dentist assistant is even worse, does not greet you or smile. Then you have the female dentist who has the worst attitude in the office. When you tell her that you feel the pain she gets annoyed and makes faces. It seems like everybody in the office hates their job and doesn’t what to be there. Sadly, they treat their patients in this fashion. We go to doctors to feel better and tell them our issues when we are there. We don’t go to an office to make anybody’s job harder, just want to feel better. I wish they would have better service because this is the only place that takes my insurance.
Ive been a patient at this center like forever. Bay Shore clinic to Central Islip to Brentwood center when all others closed down. My Dr. khanijo took care of me for all these years until Hudson River took over. They took away a Dr. who has been taking care of me for decades without notice. Not a letter stating why, just abruptly changed. From there it has been down hill. Im not one to frequent doctors offices for any little thing but when Ive needed immediate attention I have not gotten it. One time I ended up in the ER because they never called me back. Im not saying it has always been bad all the time, but oh boy! It is true the wait is a bit longer than other places but not so bad for the most part in my experience. Ive had my share of spending almost all day in this place but just a few. Lately it has been ok. It is true about the attitude of some of the employees. But not everyone is the same. Those people are very few and yes they should have a refresher course on public relations and how to treat people. If you dont like your job, move on is what I say. I wont even talk about the phone call wait, ridiculous. Ive cooked an entire elaborate dinner waiting on hold and Im not exaggerating. The worse is the navigators dept. That is where you kill most of the day if you write down your name on that clipboard. But is worse if you leave and let them do the appt and referrals at their leisure. It doesnt get done. One time I had a Navigator called me 3 months later for a referral the doctor wanted me to go to but I was not to found of so didnt stress I never received the referral. My latest experience involves same navigator who when I finally reached her by leaving an in person message on her desk to call me after I complaint to another navigator as she had already left for the day. She reached out the next day complaining as to how long it takes her to do one referral. Something is wrong with this picture. If it takes you this long you must be doing something wrong or better yet dont know what you are doing, And that is the patients problem how? You should be complaining to management not me. It takes me half the day to do one referral, what? This one is earning this salary very easy. Long story short, my appt was April 26. Dr. gave me several referrals, because of Covid I was due for many things not to mention two of the referrals where because of abnormal EKG, and a suspicious growth in my mouth, and a 3rd for a Follow-up abnormal Colonoscopy more than a year ago. Those were the most important referrals. You would think an abnormal EKG is something of urgency, followed by the growth in my mouth that could be very well be cancer for what I know. Here this navigator could care less. Not a routine referral but one that needs a little more attention, perhaps life threatening, who knows. Today is May 12 and Im still waiting for my referrals. She has only given me so far the date for Cardio and because I hunt her down and left a personal message on her desk after trying to reach her for days letting the phone ring indefinitely, 5 days later. Today is going on 3 weeks and I still dont have my referrals for the growth in my mouth, F/U colonoscopy, and the less important ones for now. My Doctor now Dr. Ahuja, I love dearly. She is very attentive and thorough like my Dr. Khanijo used to be. I feel very comfortable with her and hope they dont take her away from me ever. Shes a great asset to this center. Overall, This center its ok, just a few bugs to get rid of, phone hold time and the navigators and those I dont want to be here attitude employees.D. Rivera
My husband needed care ASAP. We went there 12/31/21 at 9:30 am. The receptionist had the worse attitude. I wont go there again. Id rather drive to Urgent Care in Farmingdale, NY. Much better staff!
Professional, friendly and reliable. And it can keep with appointments in a timely manner. Importantly, Doctors will call you when necessary. However lab-test-needs consideration. Im torn between This place is amazing and inexpensive and I never want to go back there, but am still giving it a four out of five. On the phone its a headache, and sometimes you have to wait over a half hour, but the main person on the phone has the patience of a saint. The appointments arent on time, where you spend about two hours for something that should only take half an hour, but they have a sliding pay scale where, even before my insurance went through, I paid fifteen dollars a visit. The doctor may not release the prescriptions to be picked up rarely, but a few phone calls, even hours after they close, and its good to go.This place is like a family pet. Its frustrating at times, and you need a lot of patience, and you have to free up your day at times for things to work right, but I wouldnt have it any other way. Unless I get rich enough to pay for on call, immediate care as needed, The Brentwood Health Clinic is the place for me.
My mother has been a patient at the Brentwood center for years now and it has been a horrible experience.But these past 2 weeks it has been absolutely terrible.She had an appointment with the doctor to get a mammogram referral..She goes and the doctor says Yes you need a mammogram urgently I WIll inform the receptionistsMy mother then goes to the receptionist where they have her sign the referral, But they tell her they cant give it to her, that now the system has changed and they do it themselves.We wait for days and hear from neither your clinic nor the mammogram center.We call the mammogram center and they tell us THEY NEVER RECIEVED ANY NOTICE FROM THE CLINIC..Now we call the clinic and they say they have never gotten a referral and no one signed it. Even though yes there was, and on the web portal it states the doctor requested an urgent mammogram!Cue them telling us theyll fix it and us calling the Mammogram center a day later only for them to tell us that no, the clinic has not sent ANYTHING!.REPEAT THIS ANOTHER FOUR TIMES OVER TWO WEEKS. and nothing.Theyve done nothing to rectify this issue.
The Lab is Very Slow..Doing Labs is like having a Doctors Appointment..Theres alot of Talking instead of Working..Unexceptable. They Open at 10 AM but Patients still have Early Appointments. I am waiting for Labs and My Name wS Skipped not even Called staff didnt even try to call My NaName. They
They have lower the bar so low that people are tripping over. The incompetence of some of the staff at the front desk is shocking. Some individuals of the staff are so unprofessional. In addition, to make people wait longer because they are gossiping, either about the clients or other staff. Having health insurance, they forced me to pay a copay when my insurance told me it was not needed. According to the cashier, she lower the price because was making me a favor. At this place, they can give you the worse service!!
The worst place to go... I went with severe abdominal pain and they didnt want to see me, they just told me that they had an appointment until September. So I have to go through that pain for so long. they dont care about your health
I was unaware that the building was under new management. I used to just show up and wait until I was called, but things have changed I didnt see a doctor because the lady at the front desk asked what i was there for. I said to see a doctor. She asked why do I need to see a doctor. This is in the lobby full of people waiting. Im accustomed to keeping things confidential until I saw the doctor face to face. Guess HAPPY isnt a thing anymore. She proceeds to tell me that its no longer walk in unless its urgent. Ok, but I still need to see a doctor. I guess I would have to share why I was there before it was determined if I could see a doctor.
The waiting time is horrible. Waited 45 minutes after my appointment to see a doctor. Finally got to the exam room, waited another 15 minutes to be seen. The doctor was very good however. After I finished , had to wait another 25 minutes to make a follow up appointment. This place blows minds.
Although the mask mandates for health care centers in New York we’re removed in February, this place still likes to lord over their poor and immigrant patrons by yelling at them from across the lobby and forcing them to mask up. There is nothing benevolent about making people cover their faces. The science, if anyone cares to actually use the google on their phone will show you that not only are masks not useful for preventing disease, but they also cause disease through poor airflow and contamination. More over, children are growing up to live in a fearful and frightened society.The point is, there is no longer a mask mandate and this place knows it. There is no reason to put a mask on. It’s disgusting that some facilities like Sun River Health force the people they “help” to bend the knee. I am so sick and tired of the last three years.

Dirty smelly place, worse place to go if you need medical care, overcrowded and unclean laboratory, place smells like urine and human waste. All because people don’t have the guts to complaint. If you have health insurance go somewhere else, we’ll unless you like to be treated like a rat.
They didn’t listen to me. I knew this was going to be painful but I told both the doctor and the nurse that I knew it was going to be painful. I had my IUD taken out. It hurt so bad going in 5 years ago and knew it was going to be just a bad. I asked them if they should numb with a local and they just disregarded my feelings. After what seems like 5 seconds ended in complete agony!! I felt so violated and was only met with “oh! I didn’t know it would hurt you that bad”.I TOLD them it would!! When is a patients words ever going to be taken seriously!? He then said “I’m sorry, I’m gunna leave u alone in this room” and both the nurse and the doctor left te room wondering if I Signed the stupid consent form...which she kept asking me to sign even tho I asked her whT was it for??I came home to just waiting to crawl in the fetal position and just kept crying.

Need ‘script’ called into pharmacy.Trying to reach doctor… Called, texted, voice- mailed, online portal, spoke to nurse and off hour care center. Begged pharmacy and health insurance to help reach doctor too. It’s been 5 days and still no reply.This place doesn’t deserve any star! 🤬
This place has to be the worse place in the world. Your on the phone over 30 minutes on hold and dont think being there in person is any better. I had a 1:30 PM appointment and at 3pm Im still sitting there just to get results and I decided to ask what was taking so long just to find out that the doctor I was suppose to see wasnt there and my appointment was made in error. I asked for a copy of my results and was denied. I rather die than to return to this place.
The doctor dead told me to my face that they’d have my lab results with the gender of my child in a week and that they’d give me a call with the results. Come today it’s almost 7 o clock and no call, I’ve been calling since 9 am trying to find out for them to continue to lie to me about how someone would get back. Then have this nasty attitude lady tell me I should know it’s a law that they CAN’T give me the results over the phone that’d I’d have to make another appointment. Seriously sick of it, they have to stop acting like they care because they don’t so they should just really close.

Im so dissapointed, I actually have High Risk Pregnancy and when i have an appt i always have to reschedule because theres no one who can see me they cant call me and say we cant attend you ! And not have me waste my time going out there . The recepcionists are rude I only seen a doctor once and repeatedly they have me rescheduling . Im done with this clinic 😒
Terrible. I was there from 2:30 to the time they closed. They are so slow. The girls in the lab didnt know what they were doing. They took everything as a joke. So unprofessional. The phones dont even work; youre always on hold for like 10-20 minutes.

Sun River Health Facilities are the worst. For 2 weeks I have been trying to speak with someone on the phone. Either no on answers, or you are on hold for a long time and then get disconnected. Shame on you.
I went for blood work and the lady at the front desk told me one of the test is for xray when I went to the dr they told me no its blood work we would never send someone who is pregnant for a xray.. looks like she didnt want to do her job.

I was seen by Dentist Victoria Telisma, really bad service, she has no manners, at all. I was wondering if she is like that because of the community we live in, or because it’s a public clinic. If you have insurance you should look for a different place.

Well, I am surprised by the reviews of this clinic. I started going for treatment and they have treated me very well in the laboratory, the gynecologist doctor, the receptionists and the nurses! If it takes a while, but its normal, you have to be patient.
Bad experience here my maximum waiting time more than an hour and more waiting bad service they set an hour and dont keep it they leave you waiting like stupid here even more bad you leave here instead of leaving you come out terrible
It is super terrible, supposedly they have an emergency service and I went two days in a row and it was closed, before I went, I called first and they told me that if it was open, it is a lack of respect, playing with ones health. If they are not going to attend If people dont have that service, stop being abusive by playing with people and also you go and ask at the reception and they are super rude. If you have an emergency or urgent need, its better to go to the hospital, since thats what I have to do.
The worst place, they really should do something to improve, my appointment was at 10:00 they told me to arrive 15 minutes early, which I did, it was 11 and they had not called me yet, I had to wait two hours to see the doctor. Besides, to make an appointment you have to wait too long. Just as these people require one to be punctual for the appointment, they should also be punctual with the appointment time they give one. It is a shame that one has to wait almost 3 hours sitting. I will never return to this place again. I put a star because it is necessary to leave my comment, otherwise I would give them zero stars. It is the worst place to serve. My appointment has been canceled twice, once because there was no electricity since 6 a.m. and they couldnt give me a call until I arrived for my appointment at 2 pm. Then I made a second appointment and when I ask for leave at work, when it arrived they told me that my appointment was canceled. Because the doctors were not working with new patients. But a day before they sent me a text to confirm the appointment and I replied Yes. And when nothing arrived, I wasted my time. Very unprofessional.
I made an appointment for a slight pain in a tooth. I arrived, they charged me, I made the payment and since it is not an emergency they did not assist me. I asked for the money back and they told me they wouldnt give it back to me. In my opinion they are thieves who take advantage of naive people like me.

Ugh, terrible service, there are people who dont know that other clinics also serve you with the insurance from Healfert and Afiniti or other medical insurance. If they knew this, this clinic would have already woken up because of the terrible service that the doctors provide.
