I really want to write this review for Christina the Nurse that takes you in for the procedures at the Downers Grove Surgical Center. She was my nurse for both procedures and she is literally the sweetest most kind person ever! Thank you for making me comfortable and explaining everything.Dr Madones is very caring and sweet as well. He is kind to his patients and hes just wants to help.
This place is the worst, the doctor is a complete crook, who had scheduled me an egg retrieval, he got zero eggs, after counting over 30 the day before. Not only does it not make sense, but it is 100% because of Doctor error, and my new ivf doctor confirmed that. These people just want your money, they would charge me per phone call? And when I woke up from surgery and was told I got zero eggs they made sure no one saw me, and escorted me to my car so fast. So unprofessional.
Please do not go here. This place is an absolute scam. They will have you (and your partner) coming in for multiple appointments that you do not need for “testing”, just to run your bill up! We started our fertility journey here and almost had a surgery that we later found out from a competent doctor that I did not need. If you look in the Google reviews, the doctor himself has made a review of his own practice just for higher reviews. I wish I had done more research on this place before we started here. We were attracted by the low price for initial fertility testing and just kept going. Nonetheless, DO NOT GO HERE. Your fertility journey is important and these people will surely rip you off. There are so many better options out there for you! The office itself is also extremely outdated and in no way makes you feel comfortable.
This place is a scam!!! Please avoid this fertility center. My wife and I went there knowing that there was a possibility that we would need a donor and we were fine with that . So we paid 1600 for testing for my wife and I and 300 for an office visit with Dr Amos .They were really attentive before we paid anything, and really hush hush about how anything is done or the cost of it all. Even though my wife and I were doing this together I was not allowed to call the office to ask questions about my wife’s visits. And since we never did anything like this we thought it might be normal and we just wanted it so bad that we were blind to see that something wasn’t right. Other reviews mentioned that a receptionist was rude and boy they were right and I actually had to call her out on it on a visit where she was being rude and talking to me with an attitude and she ended up apologizing after I mentioned that other reviewers had complained about her. So after all of my wife’s testing that she did we had another appointment with Dr Amos to tell us that everything was fine with my wife and that with a donor that she had a 70% chance of having a baby and when we heard that we were ecstatic to finally be able to have our dreams come true of having a baby after 2 other failed in vitros at another doctor in Mexico. But for us to continue with anything else we had to pay up front 16,000 and that I need to redo my sperm sample because it was lost. So he takes us to the receptionist who then tells us that they have donors they use and all we needed to do was go to some website they gave us to pick a donor and then the receptionist (Claudia whispers and tells us that she knew a proven donor that we could use if we wanted. So we go on the website and we find out that it hasn’t been updated since 2020 and most of those donors weren’t even available. So I call Claudia and tell her and her response is ohh I didn’t know that and after a couple other calls she says it’s being updated and apologizes. So I go back to redo my sperm sample and she says after that I would be notified of the results so now 1 month later still no call from them. And website still hasn’t been updated. So we lost 1900 and learned a lesson if it’s too good to be true then it is.
I have had such a great experience with them. They have been super caring and helpful. They have found things my past doctor didnt. Dr Madanes has been absolutely great.I really appreciate my nurse Laura who has been there for me to answer all my questions and concerns. She makes me feel more then a patient and that she really cares.I also appreciate all the girls at the Munster office. They are have truly help with having a smooth experience.
Update: caution after I was told I would get my refund for my down payment for egg donor they later said I would not. This was requested when my insurance denied my procedures but before we even had accepted a donor and I had told them My Fiancé and I broke up. Plus their hospital is trying to charge me for services I had not received.Original post: I am pleased to give this review. I have been going to Midwest fertility clinic for fertility issues for a couple of years and everyone there has been super supportive. Everyone from warm hearted Claudia at the front desk, all the way through to the nurses and Doctor whos been very honest and comforting. His smile puts me at ease through the tough conversations. Laura has been especially great because she has answered all my dumb questions. She has great patience and that means the world to me as we go through this journey. I dont mention by name everyone else because I will butcher their names. Dont give going to this clinic a second thought, I recommend you schedule an appointment.
I am giving a 5star because of two great people that made the journey easy for me; Dr Madanes and Nabila ( the clinical staff that does the ultrasounds). They are both excellent, supportive and very caring. Nabila is so accommodating and good hearted. She saw me through the days I was depressed , and lost hope. I thank God the whole procedure went good, and I’m pregnant now. The billing can be exhausting ; one need to keep an eye on it, With the help of Tiffany, I was able to track it accordingly. Thereceptionist (Claudia) approach to me whenever I visit was uncomfortable , I always feel sad anytime I know I will be going for an appointment and I have to deal with her attitude couple with how depressing IVF procedure could be. Sometimes, she talks to me like I’m a child. I feel so embarrassed most times, my husband was angry at a point; he never wants to come with me because he said he doesn’t feel good the way she talks to me in a lousy and saucy way. But I noticed, she got a bit nice later at the final stage when I was already pregnant ( but then; first impression will always last longer). Wished she could have done that during the whole time I was present in the clinic.Leanne, on the other side is not bad. She’s nice and she greets appropriately.Above all, I thank God I achieved my aim. Which is the most important thing to me.
DONOT GO THERE!So many bad reviews for a reason! They have the WORST STAFF so rude, nurse that calls dont even want to tell or explain your results?! Just says results look good?! Billing department is a joke they will try to overbill you and get more money from your insurance, office is extremely outdated dr.Madanes was ok until you understand that he is also in all that, they need to run out of business Asap, infertility is so hard on its own we dont need practice like this to take advantages of it.They ONLY want your MONEY!!run
I absolutely love this office. Everyone there was kind, caring, attentive, and a pleasure to be around. When I was down and not feeling my normal self they noticed and made me feel better before I left to go home. From the receptionist, nurse, ultrasound, all the way to the doctor had my best interest. I would definitely recommend seeing them if you have any concerns about your fertility. Thank you all for everything you do Downers Grove!!!! I absolutely love Claudia thank you!!!!
First off, they got the job done and I am currently pregnant. The girls at the front desk are typically very sweet, honest, and do care for their patients. However, please, please, keep track of your billing. What they send to your insurance company and what they provide to you could be two different things. I had to get a $500 refund because I had already met my out of pocket max before they sent a bill to my insurance (over a month later). Additionally, your significant other will get a separate bill for any time he spends with Dr. Madanes (i.e. consults). Also, after you get pregnant, you might be forgotten, other than the WEEKLY cervix checks from Dr. Madanes which is completely unnecessary. Advocate for yourself, ask questions, and watch your invoices and insurance claims.
We have had a fantastic experience with this office. I feel like a true patient instead of just a number like I did at my previous clinic. They have convenient locations in Indiana for my monitoring, e-visits for my follow-ups, and an amazing staff! I have a huge amount of respect and gratitude for my nurse, Laura. She is 100% honest, keeps things light in spite of how daunting this process can be, and has a heart of gold. I am so thankful to finally be with a facility that seems to truly care about the struggle you go through and help you through the entire process.
I had my first successful pregnancy with Midwest Fertility in 2018, and I’m currently doing another round of IVF with them. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Nurse Laura, and everyone else their have made the IVF process easy and answer ALL my questions. Especially Claudia, she’s been part of my journey since my first visit back in 2018. She makes me feel more then a patient and has been a huge support throughout my whole process. She always goes above and beyond. Not only is she like that with me, but I see how caring and helpful she is with others as well. I highly recommend this facility!!
If it werent for Dr. M being absolutely fantastic, I wouldve left zero stars. The billing department is absolutely atrocious. We were patients from 2016 to 2017. To our knowledge we had paid in full for all treatments and insurance co-pays, etc. We stored our embryos for four years and decided to donate them. We were faithful in paying our annual storage fee.FOUR. YEARS. LATER when we have decided to stop storing our embryos, I am all of a sudden receiving a collections notice for almost $2500! These people had my email, my phone number, my address, even my HUSBANDS contact information, yet not ONCE did they try to contact us to let us know we still had a balance! They claimed to have attempted to send us statements by mail but I assure you they did not. Now that we are paying monthly on our balance ALL OF A SUDDEN I am NOW receiving their mail with NO PROBLEM at all! The billing department is shady and vindictive! BEWARE!!!Update 10/2022: Changing my review to 1 star. As if their billing department wasnt shady enough, I received another patients personal information in my envelope in the mail. Its beyond me how unprofessional this place is and has been. I absolutely would never recommend this place to anyone.
I’ve had PCOS for half of my life, Dr. Madanes is actually the one who diagnosed me, and this team has helped with all my issues along the way. The doctor himself is super knowledgeable and the nursing staff is friendly and, though I HATE needles, they always seem to draw without hurting me. From the medical staff to the billing department, who is always willing to listen and guide me through, I love this team!
I do not want to share personal opinions, but will instead share factual stories of my experience so that others are informed as they make their decisions.I booked an initial screening. No one ever called with any results. After I called 3 times (weeks later) and was promised multiple different dates that I would get a call back, I never did. Finally, I was able to connect with someone who told me all was good. I asked for a copy of the report and they said they do not give copies of the reports and I would have to book with them again to get anything in writing. (I was willing to drive in, pay for mailing, whatever). Please note: in my entire paid screening, I never saw or spoke to a single doctor.I called again to ask about costs of next steps (against my better judgment), was put on hold a ton of times, and the lady working the phone literally would come back and tell me random information We will book you on the 22nd. when I NEVER was even asking about a date of booking. She was not listening at all to my needs. She would not look into anything to do with my insurance until after my appointment happens. For example, I named what the next step was and asked if I could even know the base charge or range of charges so then I could personally generally calculate what I would owe after insurance. She confirmed she would not tell me this until after my appointment. Basically, they can then charge whatever they want since they already would have me in there for services.Update: I called again for test results and the new people I spoke with were much better to work with and they were able to email them over.
I used this place for my IVF back in 1999. They pump you up, making you believe this is going to work. I was told they retrieved 8 healthy eggs, than when I went in for the implantation, I was told we had only three embryos and they were going to use them all. Sadly, it didnt work and I never heard from them again. I truly believe something shady was going on. Dr. Madanes implants the embroys way to soon as I was injected with all the meds to produce eggs, not to receive them. I didnt even see any of them being implanted. I paid out of pocket and it was a one time shot. Around 6 months later, I got pregnant on my own, which, sadly ended up being a tubal. I wouldnt recommend this place at all. Save your money and go some place else.
Dont go here! They charged $2,500 dollars and said its not covered by insurance. I informed them it was covered. Later both parties found out it was covered by insurance and after filing paperwork that took 2 weeks (because staff doesnt know what an itemized bill is) to process. Staff is very rude and lacks basic insurance questions. My insurance said they reimbursed the $2500 dollars to the clinic and the clinic kept it without saying anything. Now I am fighting to get my money back. They confirmed they arent paying it out. I wish I can stop there but let me add 2 failed retrievals and transfers, lost/broken eggs, 2 failed fertilization. I can keep going... day of retrieval was taken an hour and a half late missing the crucial time window.
All the people at the clinic are very nice and knowledgeable. They in no way were trying to over charge us. We did a single embryo transfer the first time around, which did not take. We did a double embryo transfer for the second round and one took. Our baby boy was born 9/1/2019 (10 weeks premature). He is growing well and were absolutely enamored by him! He is our little miracle!! If you have had a dream of having kids and had issues in the past conceiving, Dr. Amos and his team at Midwest Fertility Centers is the place to go. Megan who was one of the nurses and later left; Lori and Laura with the Egg Bank, the receptionists (Claudia or Clara - I think), Justyna and the rest of the staff YOU GUYS ROCK!!!Definitely do your research, but they were by far the best decision we made for making this dream possible. Reasonable pricing. Clean facility. We will be forever grateful and we will be in to visit the staff soon!! :)Ben, Scott and Rex
So far I have had a great experience with MFC. Ive been searching and searching for a new doctor in my area and when I set up an appointment online, Alexis called me and helped me book a date. She was very kind and helpful and made it very easy (this is not always true for setting appointments elsewhere). Its a nice feeling when you get off the phone and know that everything went the way it should :). I have yet to visit the Doctor, but Im truly looking forward to my appointment! Will update my review for him after that appointment takes place.
MFC was like my home away from home for the past 1.5 since i started the process of IVF. There have been many ups and downs but both Claudia and Leanne treat you like family and truly care about your feelings and what you are going through. They are so willing to go the extra mile and ensure that they are always available whenever you need them. If it wasnt for their positivity and energy, I dont know how long i would have stayed in the process. Heres to hoping for one last successful round! Thank you to all the staff for everything that you do. You all play a very important role in our lives!
My experience with Claudia and all staff has been outstanding. Claudia has been very supportive she is an excellent person and make me feel secure with all the procedures I have been through. I definitely recommend this clinic to anyone. They are very professional. Claudia is always smiling and friendly. I am very pleased with all the process so far. Thank you everyone specially Claudia
The best nurse and person in general has to be Claudia at Midwest fertility. She is like the mama bear of the office. I’m very comfortable with her and I open up to her every time I go there. Plus she is the only one that can take blood from me on the first go. Love her
Thank you Midwest Fertility Center, Dr. Madanes and Staff you have made our dreams of having a family come true. Your office staff is like family to us, this is one of the things we loved about your practice. Dr. Madanes is amazing and we will be forever grateful to him for all he has done to help us.
Went to get fertility screening with husband.1. While getting ultrasound, I asked if I can know there is cyst. She said she is not allowed to speak about that.2. Whoever called to let me and my husband know about the result. She would let us know some stuff that we are not familiar and had ask same questions multiple times to understand - would have been better if there is actual written down so we can search and understand better3. Apparently I did have a cysts when she told me the result on the phone but said multiple and I ask how many exactly and answered few which is still not exact number.4. Asked for the result sheet to see. Took more than a week to be able to see the paper and did not see anything that was said on the phone.I am so glad to experience how unprofessional this institution is before I go speak with doctor which leads to expensive cost. What a great job.Very well done 👎🏻 Infertility is frustrating enough and I don’t wanna deal with this nonsense. Thank you
My husband and I are beyond thankful for Dr. Amos Madanes. He is a wonderful, caring and kind doctor. Dr. Amos Madanes is a blessing from God and no words are enough to express our appreciation. Dr. A.Madanes has played such an important role in our lives; he went above and beyond everything we ever would have expected and will forever remain grateful. Throughout our fertility journey there were times I felt emotionally drained, but doctor Madanes always made me feel that giving up was not an option. Hes kindness and compassion have been such a blessing! Dr. Madanes and all nurses always kept us informed during the entire treatment process and often took the time to personally call us to check on us. Nabila, who did our ultrasound scans, is very knowledgeable, understanding and, very professional. She always treat me with tender loving care.. Thank you so much. The nurses were also really helpful, attentive and supportive. Natalie, Lilian and Claudia have also touched our lives with the care they provide. They are kind, compassionate and truly care about their patients. They are amazing nurses. Their professionalism shown has been amazingWe personally very recommend Dr.Amos Madanes to anyone seeking fertility medical advice or fertility treatments. He was the only doctor that made my dream come true.
I have never been treated so poorly as a patient. The staff at the reception desk was extremely rude and unwilling/unable to answer simple questions I had about the billing process. I was referred here by my primary doctor. I had checked with my insurance beforehand and they said this location was in network and the procedure was covered with a $20 copay. When I arrived, without even looking at my insurance the staff said I would have to pay cash and pay full price at the time of the procedure. They told me they were unwilling to bill my insurance for the procedure and would not check my insurance. When I asked why they got snippy and told me it was because I wasn’t a patient of theirs. Of course, I asked how I could become a patient of theirs and they said they couldn’t set up a visit because they didn’t want to take a patient from my primary doctor. So, I called my insurance again to see if I could submit the receipt for reimbursement and my insurance said it was no problem and emailed me the form. I went to tell the receptionist the good news and asked for their TaxID so I could submit the receipt she got very short saying “We can’t submit this to insurance because you’re not our patient”. I tried clarifying that I was willing to do all the work for submitting it and she practically yelled at me “I can’t give you the tax ID because you’re not a patient of this facility!”. So, despite being covered and in-network they were unwilling to bill my insurance and unwilling to give me any of the info I need to submit it myself. After the receptionist literally finished telling me how rude I was being I told her to go ahead and cancel the appointment, I’ll be finding another location.I think there may be something fishy going on with the billing at this location if they aren’t willing to honor agreements they’ve made with insurance companies.
There is something seriously wrong with the billing both at midwest fertility and at their partner facility for procedures the ambulatory surgicenter of downers grove. I had a successful procedure here that allowed me to conceive naturally. And Dr. Madanes may be able to assess your health and help you get pregnant. But the issues with billing cannot be ignored.I had three procedures in which large upfront payments were required, grossly in excess of co-payment or co-insurance. Once they FINALLY submitted paper claims to my insurance provide, it became clear I had overpaid at the time of service by more than $1000 for these procedures. I had to repeatedly fight on the phone with condescending staff about my reimbursement. It taken more than five months, countless phone calls, emails, etc to receive reimbursement for two of my three procedures. Seven months later I still await reimbursement for one of my procedures. (And I did receive the proper reimbursement amount for those two procedures, so Im obviously not wrong, they wouldnt pay out $$ if I wasnt actually owed). This place is preying on families that desperately want to conceive. You need to keep a careful eye on your payments and claims made to insurance. Im sure couples that have success here are less inclined to hunt down reimbursements, or dont notice the discrepancies. Ive never had a problem like this with any other medical provider. The real issue is with the ambulatory surgicenter, but working with this provider is unavoidable. And even though these offices are intrinsically linked, they like to behave as though they are unique entities that have no relationship or shared responsibilities.Im not saying that you wont receive adequate treatment here, or that the doc isnt knowledgeable. But youre taking a tremendous financial risk by using this facility, and I cant recommend it.
Midwest fertility center is an outstanding clinic. I cant thank everyone of you for your compassionate care. This center is my second home. Dr madanes goes above and beyond for his patients. At Munster location, I want to say thank you to Felicia for your lovely demeanor and empathetic nature, keeping me up to date with my appointments, and on ending encouragement and support. Thanks to Dee for your kindness and lovely nature, always there to answer my questions. Thank you so much.
I loved working with Midwest Fertility. I was referred by another patient who saw Dr. Madanes for regular OB Gynie care (not fertility). She recommended him due to his bedside manor- I was EXTREMELY nervous. Fertility treatment is rough, but I was thankful to have such a great team to work with. Leanne and Claudia were amazing! Once we got started with treatment, things moved quickly. I know others who were with other drs and their treatment seemed so much more spaced out. Dr. Madanes was great to work with. He was thorough and direct in telling me what we needed to do, and yet very kind in how he delivered such sensitive news. I ended up going through 4 IUIs and 1 round of IVF. Both Leanne and Claudia have called to check on how things were going once I was through with treatment. I delivered my perfectly healthy twins in August 2019, and couldnt recommend Midwest Fertility enough!
RUN!!! DO NOT WASTE TIME OR MONEY!!! This fertility clinic only cares about one thing, $$$!!! They charge you up front for services that they never provide and price gouge. The Information provided in medical records are completely wrong. They misinform you leaving you completely clueless about what is going on with your fertility. Staff is EXTREMELY RUDE and lack any sense of professionalism. You rarely speak with the doctor and when you do, it is very brief. PLEASE FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR SANITY…AVOID THIS CLINIC AT ALL COSTS!!! I wish I could give negative stars.
I was beyond floored with my experience at Midwest Fertility Center. After going to multiple doctors I finally found the care that I had sought for two years. The distinguishing factor at this location is the care. Claudia (one of the nurses at the center) took care of me as if I was one of her own from start to finish, constantly following up and making sure I was cared for, going above and beyond for me like a surrogate mother to me, getting me through this process in spite of all my fears and worries, making it beyond easy and seamless. Leanne (another nurse) was beyond sweet and would make sure I got all the care I needed and for someone who has an insane fear of needles (like horrible fear) she got me through the sometimes twice weekly blood draws and the fear of needles through my IVF process. I cannot recommend this center enough, if it weren’t for them and their INCREDIBLE team I wouldn’t be 6 months pregnant with our baby boy today! If you’re on the fence don’t be— go immediately!
Avoid this place At all costs unless you want to pay for things they didn’t do. They billed me for a “consult” which consisted of a 3 minute meet and greet with the doctor. If you want to pay good money for the privilege of filling out their paperwork and saying hello to you this is definitely the right place. I left there and never went back, much better centers in Chicago that actually provide a service when they charge you for something.
Horrible place to go! They will charge you for service you did not receive! Tell you your insurance covers all of your test then bill you a year later. No one there likes to listen Everytime you call they make you feel unwelcome, they all lie for each other. This place is not about creating families. When I had my Hysterscopy test done on my fallopian tubes I left crying no one cared about howI felt, the doctor didnt even give me his time of day to help make me feel better. All this place wants is money and they only offer IvF they dont truly care about you. All they care about is the money they make off you!
I came into this thinking I had a chance to start a family. The staff are very rude. There was only one person I cared for. They take your money and perform malpractice. I was just told I was diagnosed with a disease they apparently have known for two years! So with me not having ANY idea I HAD this DISEASE I wanted to be an egg donor. After starting the entire egg donor process just finished genetic testing, lost weight (took me 2 months to lose the weight)(worked extremely hard) I was rejected because in their (history) they have of medical records NOT knowing I had this illness they disqualified me from being able to become an egg donor. DO NOT GO TO THIS CLINIC. There IUI procedures are also not performed correctly after reaching out to different practices I was totally clueless of the big $1,500 spent per the (3) IUIs that failed majority to their practice and timing failure (on their part!!). I should have went with my gut and left this place a long time ago! I have been questionable of these services for a long time. Please do not go to this clinic. Rude, malpractice and they only care about your $.
This has been the most unprofessional office I have ever been to. As a nurse I know what is expected of staff, and this office falls short. The medical assistants appear very unprofessional, record information wrong, I had an MA record my weight 20 pounds less than what I actually was. Ive had their phlebotomist attempt to draw my blood WITHOUT GLOVES! I demanded a different phlebotomist after this, which the next one fell short as well, she cleaned the area of draw and then ripped the tip of the finger off the glove and used her finger to palpate the vein AGAIN, and then proceeded to TRY and draw my blood, until I stopped her, which she did not understand why I was so mad about this. The front desk staff could not explain why I could not make appointments at the Indiana offices, so I was driving almost 2 hours every other day for 3 months until it was finally explained to me that because my paper chart was at the Dowers Grove location and not the other locations, how a physicians office is working without EMR is beside me.My chart was to be transferred to the other location, this was never done. As for billing, I was paying my $60 copay every other day for 3 months while I was going there, my copays were never applied correctly, as well there were several times the front desk staff ran my card for the wrong amount. When I received my bill I noticed some errors, trying to get someone from billing on the phone was impossible. During one of my visits I was fortunate to meet with someone in billing who explained my bill was incorrect and that she would be calling me within a few days and sending out a new bill. Well weeks passed and I never heard anything. I began calling the office, but of course every time I called, no one was available and I had to leave voicemail, I called 2x/week from May-November, never received a phone call back. But they did begin to start sending me the incorrect bill and threatening collections. Finally in December I called and demanded to speak with someone, I was once again told she was not available and I could leave a message, I refused and waited on hold 27 minutes before I was finally able to speak with someone.I was seeking help and unfortunately this fell short, so much so that when I came to the office pregnant TWICE the Dr and his assistant appeared annoyed!!!! Even though I was coming there for help with my hormone imbalance that was causing miscarriages!I have cut ties with this practice and found a wonderful new doctor. I normally do not leave reviews, but in this case I could not let it go.
Going to a fertility specialist for the first time was nerve wrecking and overwhelming. I am so thankful I chose Midwest because they made this process so much easier by always answering questions, giving detailed explanations, and returning your calls no matter how many times you called. I am so thankful to Claudia who is an absolute sweetheart and is always so warm and welcoming making you feel at home. Dr. Madanes is always smiling and gives you that reassurance that he will provide whatever is necessary to help you and Leanne always so so patient during this emotional rollercoaster.
My husband and I cannot be more happy with the Doctor and the office in general. My husband was diagnosed with Stage 3 Lymphoma and we needed to act fast.. like a week. EVERYONE and I mean everyone at the office was caring, prompt and always made us feel comfortable. We cannot wait to start our IVF process with them!
I love this place and I only give them three stars because the billing department is TERRIBLE. However the staff is amazing I felt like family instead of a patient. Claudia is a person youll never forget, shes loving, caring, and very sweet person. I cant wait to bring my bundle of joy to visit them.
Hi have been going through the IVF process for sometime now and am very happy with how attentive this practice is. There is always someone available to answer my questions or ease my concerns. Laura is absolutely wonderful with giving you information (good and bad) in a professional but sincere manner. She keeps you updated day by day on the process. Special thanks to Laura!
Billing department is super super super bad! Please be aware and stay away! You have been warned. Old school setting with old school equipment. Old school procedures. Finally, they charged my insurance instead of my wifes insurance. because of their mistake my wife now owes $1290 when they could have charged the right one insurance and now I wouldnt have to leave this awful but truthful review. Im stuck with a high bill and no baby on sight. bOOOO you suck MFC
This is an amazing Fertility Clinic!Dr. Amos is super knowledgeable, I just can not express how happy I am with the receptionists, phlebotomists, ultrasound sound tech and nurse Laura Tuider. Laura is always available to answer any question which really helps me with my anxiety. Besides being prompt, she is the most compassionate nurse I have ever met.
When I say these Ladies are the best !!!!! I was having a bad experience with the pharmacy my IVF meds were ordered through I wanted to change my mind and give up. Laura, LeAnne and Alejandra stood behind me and pulled me through this terrible situation. Midwest Fertility is the best and will definitely refer to friends and family
My husband and i originally came here to have a tubal reversal done. Even though I had the pathology reports they insisted they needed to do an expensive procedure to ensure I would be a good candidate for the surgery. After the procedure we were told I was not, but for a few thousand more we could do an IVF cycle. We paid and began the process of IVF. After implant I had an allergic reaction to the medication and didnt hear back on what to do for a full day and a half! Needless to say we are not pregnant. I sent the same pathology report to 3 other reversal centers and they all told me I was a perfect candidate for a reversal. I have called several times to address this with the clinic but am told the person I need to speak to is in a meeting. This establishment is not a place I would send anyone to. Very unsatisfied and the lesson cost us 15k.
For many years I struggled to get pregnant due to health issues, I was told by doctors that having a baby will nearly be impossible. Sadden by this I looked to my faith and prayed every single night for a miracle and one day out of the blue I heard about Midwest Fertility Center of Downers Grove. After reading the reviews I just knew this was a sign and I had to meet with Dr. Madanes. I set up and appointment and started on the road of becoming the one thing I was born to be, a mom! I started the process in Jan of 2018 and was pregnant by May of 2018. January 9, 2019 I became a mom to a healthy beautiful baby girl. I want to take the time to thank Dr. Madanes and the staff for making me feel like family and walking me through this journey when I felt alone. A special thank you to Claudia for your kind worlds and knowledge. Thank you for treating me like family and not just a patient. You will always be part of our family. I will be planning another visit as we plan for our second child. I highly recommend Midwest Fertility Center for those who are looking for that sense of hope in becoming a parent. Staff is professional and kind, thank you again Dr, Madanes, Claudia, and all the staff for making my dream of becoming a mother a reality. Love always Diannie
Although Dr. Madanes may be a terrific endocrinologist, his billing practices and financial process is entirely sub-par. I recieved a series of tests and a surgical procedure (NOT IVF), only to find out that $250 payment that I made had never been credited to my account (I had the receipt). Six months later (after getting a final bill that still did not include the missing payment), I sent a final payment on my account, but demanded credit for the $250 payment I made. They accepted my money and sent me back a receipt with no further communication. Two YEARS go by. All of a sudden I start getting phone calls wondering why I had not paid a $276 charge on my account. After going through the whole explanation, again, they justify this as new charges. Yep. New charges that suddenly absorb the entire amount of my previously uncredited payment, for a place I hadnt been to in two years.Tl;dr: If you want to deal with a bunch of stress caused by billing incompetence, this is your provider. For sure.UPDATE: After investigating the new charges, by comparing the final invoice from two years ago with one that supposedly included said new charges, I predictably found that they were the same old charges from before. 🙄 They were just trying to figure out a way to weasel more money out of me to try and cover up their internal screw up. Nice. Real nice.
DONT USE MID WEST FERTILITY OR INTERNATIONAL EGG BANK!!!Me and my husband went through Midwest Fertilitys donor egg bank international egg bank and were screwed out of thousands of dollars from Dr. Madanes. The first batch of frozen eggs turned out to be bad and none of them made it past day 3. Then cause of there Guarantee they gave us 6 fresh eggs. Even though we paid for ten frozen. A procedure that we asked to be done on the eggs was not done and none of them fertilized. I called and left several emails and messages and nobody ever responded. And the doctor and the woman Lori who sold us the eggs were both on vacation for three weeks so we couldnt speak to them anyway.Dr. Madanes finally called us when he came back from vacation and was obnoxious and arrogant. We finally told him that we are going to the medical board and getting a lawyer and his exact words were You should. Great doctor! Also, we never heard from Lori again. This place is outdated and uses old techniques. They nickel and dime you for everything. They would charge us $150 to even speak to Dr. Madanes.Do yourself a favor and Choose another egg bank and doctor and save yourself all the heartache.
Dr.Madanes and staff (Claudia, LeAnne, Laura, Justina) you all amazing! They made us feel so comfortable and were very patient with us with all the questions we had. We are happily parents of 2 baby girls who are now 3 months thanks to Dr. Madanes and staff! couldnt be more blessed! Thank you Dr. Madanas! Because of you, we were able to start our family!!!
Spent the better part of a year with this doctor. Wife had fibroids and he wanted to shrink them before removing them. Finally the shrinking wasn’t working after all the money spent. Then he decided to remove the fibroids in small parts. After 2 minor surgeries, he comes to say the whole thing is bigger than he had been seeing all this while. So now he says she needs to get more involving surgery done. Even the front desk person knew he was wasting time with the needed procedure. Thank God for Covid. We went to a different doctor and fibroids were removed after one appointment. They just keep spinning you around here so they can keep billing you over and over and over again. The billing department don’t even want to explain the bills to you. Don’t use this doctor!!!!! I should be suing them.
I was very nervous to start this process with my partner and choosing the right facility was a hard choice for us until we went to MFC. Claudia at the front desk was so warm and genuine. She’s always helps answer my many questions and takes the time to explain things I may not fully understand. Highly recommended.
Dr. Madanas, Laura, Claudia, LeAnne and everyone at Midwest have been helpful and caring through this challenging process of getting pregnant. From taking my frantic phone calls at 8am with questions to reassuring me that everything will be okay, this is a wonderful place to start this journey. Im happy to say its happening in March 2020!
We were told that our insurance covers the procedures. It started with having to come up with $3,000 for the donor. We took out a big loan of $25,000 to do other things with and it got dwindled down to $18,000 by time we got through paying the donor plus exams, medications, and blood work for her and my wife that wasnt covered and all the copays. The ambulatory center which is in the same building also cost us alot of money. We had to give them hundreds of dollars on top of the insurance also. Now I have a bill for over $2,800 from mwf they say for the insurance deductible and we owe the ambulatory over $500 we were paying on,I got it down to $453 dollars and just received a bill from them for over $6000 from last November because they didnt contact the insurance company to find out why they didnt get paid we had to do tha and god only nows how much That will be. You dont see Dr much the nurse does most of the work including the embryo transfer. To top it all off the procedure didn,t work and we didnt pay an additional 1,200 to freeze the other two remaining embryos because we just couldnt afford it even with insurance. So good luck to you.
Midwest charged us for a procedure. The procedure wasnt completed and we were due a refund of over a thousand dollars. They told us we would have to request a refund in writing. My wife wrote it up on the spot and gave it to them. They stated it can take up to 3 weeks to refund the charge.Contacted them over a month later and they wanted ANOTHER refund request in writing. The refund never came. Finally ended up filing a claim with the credit card company. If we had paid in cash, we would have had to sue them.I would not do business with these folks.
Midwest Fertility Center is a caring and compassionate place; they go out of their way to help. Their testing and follow up methods are very thorough. Love my nurse, Laura Tuider; she is always available and answers all my questions.
My experience with Mfc is been amazing. Been there almost a year and its been my second home. Thru all the good times and bad times Claudia, Leanne and Michelle been amazing. They have gone thru all bad times and good times with me and always find time to help. MFC has the greatest and professional staff.Thank you for everything I appreciate you guys so much!!!!!! Thank you girls for everything. Also I would love to Thank Justina and Dr. Madanes for taking such good care of me.
Ignore the bad comments. We are currently 5 weeks along in our pregnacy. We got confussing news today and Dr. Madonis called on his day off because my wife was upset. This is far more professional than any of the other doctors we have dealt with at to other clinics/IVF attempt. The nurses have also been very kind and thoughtful.
I agree, worse place ever and AMBULATORY SURGICENTER DOWNEI had Blue shield blue cross, my deductible was paid and all my co-payments but I show on my CR collections for a total of $2467. Never once did they explian this to me that I would have high out of pocket expenses. They got over $15000 already from my insurance company.
My husband and I were paying cash for this IVF treatment and I wanted to boost my chances on getting pregnant anyway I could. I asked the doctor about using supplements and acupuncture during the IVF process and he disagreed saying that it was just mumbo jumbo. Wouldnt you want a doctor to say Hey, it couldnt hurt...go ahead and try it. Unfortunately, the IVF process here at Midwest did not produce a baby for me. But 2 months later---- before spending the money on a 2nd round of IVF---I took supplements and did acupuncture and got pregnant naturally! 11 months after that.... did the supplements and acupuncture and got pregnant again!!!
Team has been very supportive, understanding and attentive to my needs during this journey! Dr. Madonas is very informative and takes his time during each consultation to help me understand my next steps
