I cannot recommend HRC Fertility Clinic highly enough! From start to finish, our experience with this incredible team has been nothing short of exceptional. Dr. Alison Peck was truly remarkable! Her compassionate bedside manner and genuine care made every visit a reassuring and positive experience. Her expertise and support were invaluable throughout our journey.A special shout-out to Jennifer Montoya, our IVF Coordinator, who was nothing short of delightful. Her dedication, accessibility, and willingness to answer every question and handle all scheduling concerns with grace made a significant difference in our experience. The entire office staff deserves praise for their kindness and warmth. As an LGBT couple, we felt completely embraced and respected at every step. Their acceptance and support were deeply appreciated and made a challenging process feel much more manageable. If youre seeking fertility assistance, look no further than HRC Fertility Clinic. Their exceptional care and unwavering support will make all the difference in your journey.
My wife and I received three rounds of IVF at HRC Encino. The process was costly, complicated, stressful, and difficult, all of which we knew going in, and none of which affect my review. There is really one thing that resulted in me writing this review at all: faulty and misleading communication. We were told what we wanted to hear at the beginning of the process, to open our wallets and get us to move forward, and then they changed the story on us when we got to the end. If wed known at the beginning how theyd handle the situation we ended up in, Id have an extra $60,000 in my bank account. We are both carriers for a rare, recessive genetic condition that affects vision. It was recommended to us that we should have a custom genetic probe built for us by a third party company, at a cost of $13k. During this process, we asked about whether we had the option of skipping testing entirely and accepting the risks (wed already consulted with a geneticist from the NIH, and were aware of the possible outcomes). They said yes, so long as you sign a waiver. We asked whether wed be able to use any affected embryos at our discretion, if a test came back positive. We were told yes, if you consult with a genetic counselor and speak with the doctor. After the first round, we had 8 fertilized embryos, but only 1 survived. This was an inflection point, and led us to repeat the same questions I listed above, to make sure we were on the same page, and we were assured that it would be our choice. After we finished the third round, we had 5 embryos sent off for testing. 3 came back positive, one came back inconclusive, and one came back untested, because there was some issue with the biopsy. So now, almost a year and $60k+ into the process, we requested to make use of the two embryos that didnt get a test result back. We were told, in no uncertain terms, that we would not be allowed to use them, because the clinic feels uncomfortable with it. All we got was I sincerely apologize for the confusion possibly caused by my part.As I mentioned at the top, if wed known this at the start, wed never have agreed to proceed forward at all, and we asked all these questions explicitly, and received answers in writing. This is not a situation of faulty memory, or lack of attention to detail on our part.
I chose HRC for their competitive pricing on egg freezing. I had a good experience with Dr. Peck and my care coordinator Jennifer.Dr. Peck explained the whole process of egg freezing and what I could expect at the different stages of the process. During each ultrasound she would turn the screen so that I could watch with her as she measured and counted my follicles. She keept me involved in the process and updated on what she was doing. She was very kind and did an excellent job as my physician throughout the whole process. I felt very safe in her hands.Jennifer was very on top of scheduling my appointments, and very thorough in providing information about my medication doses and scheduling. She made herself available to answer my questions through email and was very responsive.Regarding the financial aspect of the process I highly recommend speaking with Paul. The cost of any elective Fertility procedure can be quite prohibitive and and is often not covered by insurance. Paul sat down with me and answered my many, many questions about the cost, the payment options, cost of going through insurance vs paying out of pocket. He was very thoughtful and wrote out a price breakdown of every aspect of every option.Ultimately there were no hidden fees, or anything like what some of the other reviews I read had said. It just depended on the option/package that you chose since not all include the same things. It also differed if you opted to have any additional add ons (like a full genetic panel). Make sure to ask questions about your options when you go.Overall I am glad that I chose HRC and Dr. Pecks team.
Entire staff is superb. I love Dr Feinman, super experienced and top of his field. Karla my coordinator was always responsive even on weekends and evenings. My anesthesiologist Dr Colleen was AMAZING. I accidentally drank coffee on extraction day and she worked around this by giving me the perfect amount of whatever concoction she used (I did NOT feel a thing, and btw do NOT drink/eat anything or you may risk having to do this procedure with less than general anasthesia). whole procedure was seamless. LOVE this team 💫💫💫💫💫
I feel extremely lucky to have Dr. Boostanfar as my doctor. He’s the kind of physician who is creative and doesn’t shy away from a complicated case (which mine is).I’ve dealt with fertility issues for a few years now, and the one thing that I’ve learned is that everyone’s body is different and there is no “one size fits all” solution.Dr. Boostanfar is extremely sharp and he uses his intellect to work with you and create a plan that best suits your body! When it comes to fertility issues, I truly feel like that’s the most important quality in a good physician.Additionally, I have to mention that he has excellent bedside manner… which to me is unbelievably important. I don’t feel like “just a random” patient of his. You can tell that he genuinely cares and has a kind, gentle demeanor coupled with a good sense of humor. To me, that’s a huge plus. His coordinator, Angela Ho is an absolute rockstar…. IVF has so many variables to it and having someone with brains and organization in your corner is absolutely essential. The individual care and support she provides makes an impossible journey so much easier. I’m truly blessed to have her.HRC Encino clinic itself is fantastic, top notch and always immaculate. Best part is, they have a full surgery center downstairs. It’s so easy and convenient, I honestly never get anxious to do any of my procedures because their surgery center is so wonderful. The care they provide feels so individualized, you honestly feel like a celebrity when you’re there.
Ivy and staff completely unprofessional. Insurance was not checked, verified or even a claim submitted. They immediately sent me a bill for $350 even though I clearly stated before the appointment I could cancel the appointment until they did their part to verify. I know of my coverage and specifically said I can come back another time and I did not sign their form. Dr Feinman told me to just come back into his office so we could discuss and he wouldnt bill me for this appointment as I am a return patient. He also said this to the only other person in the office at the time. This was the same woman who I spoke with when checking in.I have not been able to reach anyone including him from the office. But they continue to mail a credit card authorization form and bill for $350. I have asked the process to dispute and we are going on 60 days with no follow up. I have never experienced anything like this within the medical industry.
I had a horrible experience at HRC Encino. My doctor was Alison Peck, and the coordinator was Ariana Peralta, and I do not recommend them.Alison Peck took the time to explain things at the initial consultation; however, their attitude completely changed as soon as you paid and signed all the papers. They were always rushing and explained very little and just wanted to get you out the door so that they could squeeze in more patients. They only see patients as a number. The worst of all is the financial coordinator Ivy Williams. The clinic made mistakes on my bills, and it took over nine months to have them correct them.Ivy ignores your emails and phone calls and tells you shes working on the issue but forgets about you. Then, after you pay $50,000+ and complete the treatment, they ghost you. It was extremely difficult to get a hold of Ivy or Ariana AFTER the treatment. Its funny because, during the treatment, they answered reasonably quickly. They do not care if your IVF or fertility journey succeeds. They schedule procedures based on their schedules, and their goal is to get as many patients as possible. They do not strive to provide quality service. After all, its just a good money-making business for them.* what is the best way to reach you so I can get more information? - So dumb and insincere. Who gives out personal information online?
Dr. Dhesi was the reason I went to HRC Encino. She is kind, she is thorough and she is so patient in explaining anything and everything you want to know or are concerned about. She personally takes the time to answer your emails. I was honored to have her as my doctor. She honored a military discount and accommodated my driving distance schedule.Daisy at the front desk is the one to go to with questions. She’s really the one to answer questions, get things done in a timely manner and call and call back when you have a concern. Her customer service was unreal compared to other experiences I’ve had. Thank you both.
Dr. Peck is amazing. The whole staff is very nice. The process is very expensive but I feel they did a good job in helping us weigh the pros and cons of our options. Best of all? It worked! Twice!!
Update: I was able to get a phone call back the same day. The financial rep was helpful, kind, and did apologize. He did help us resolve the issue and for now it is solved. I still believe they need help in the billing department however once I was able to reach someone they were professional and helpful. My personal conclusion Dr. Alison Peck was kind and answers my questions I only saw her once, my coordinator Ariana was kind, and a quick responder on e-mails, Finance department has a poor call center however they do respond to email and was able to get help regarding my bill. I recommend if you are ok with e-mail communication.Original post:My doctor was Alison Peck, and the coordinator was Ariana Peralta. They were both kind. However until you receive an unknown bill and try to reach out to the financial department for an explanation or some help. You can call the billing department however it doesnt even ring it goes straight to voice mail. I did email and asked if I could get a call back. The response I received was Sorry, I am not at a desk with a phone. My advise if you are in the same boat as I am my advise is to email them and ask for a call back and when they respond with a no then you email back and say please call me. You will have to be persistent. After a little push back they will make someone call you. Its a mission. I should be receiving a call back today Sept 27, 2022. I will keep you posted if I get a call back.
Wow I am so disappointed in myself for not reading all these terrible reviews before making my appointment here. Like countless other reviewers, I am having a very difficult time with HRCs financial department. My insurance has verified multiple times that they cover fertility diagnostic testing however HRC refuses to submit claims under this coding. They continue to submit claims as infertility diagnostics which my insurance does not cover. I have already spent an unreasonable amount of time back and forth between my insurance and their finance team to no avail.HRC makes the payment process unnecessarily difficult and frustrating. This is not something that couples/individuals undergoing fertility treatments should have to worry about. Please take my advice and find a different doctor - it will save your sanity.
I had many problems at the clinic starting from the frontend to the backend. My first 2 IUIs I didn’t see the doctor at all. I mean not one time. During my IVF, I met with DR. B the first couple visits, no more until egg transfer. Jennie and Wendy were compassionate but I just felt like another number at the clinic.I believe my IVF failed because Dr Boostnfar was not present during my journey. They’re only there for the money. I’m so sad. How can a Dr. not have compassionate for people who wants to have families? 😞Billing even charged me for meds and were supposed to charge my insurance.
Tl;dr: There are way better options in the area. They caused me immense stress by being disorganized and stealing from me.Their financial dept. is a scam charged me extra fees in spite of having the best coverage (at another clinic later I wasnt charged any of these additional fees and got significantly better results. They are disorganized, dont share timely instructions re medicines timings and dosages.Their surgical center, which is on the first floor in not in-network for many insurance in spite of the clinic (HRC Encino) and the surgeon performing the procedure is in network. They charged me $1000 for a hysteroscopy that should have been 100% covered for me by insurance. They also didnt provide a valid itemized receipt till I called/ emailed many (>5) time. I wanted the receipt so that I could use my FSA to reimburse the $1000.There were constant delays due to finance dept. not getting authorizations in time. IVF is a time sensitive process, they did everything they could to make this process more stressful and painful than it needed to be.I deeply regret not doing my research well enough and not taking other reviews here seriously.
So far has been a pretty terrible experience. My wife and I are still in the process, and hopefully it gets better, but as of now its been pretty upsetting. Financial department is lazy and runs the department with a totalitarian sort of attitude, where even if you already paid for something she will not even look twice, she will just continue to say you owe her money. I have high functioning autism, i pay ahead of time to ensure things like this do not happen. What happens next appointment after that one? Another miscommunication about the financial department. Im very done having what is supposed to be a rewarding experience be ruined by lazy and non-communicative staff.Update: Service continues to decline. Every visit more money is needed. Plan to double the cost of whatever estimate they give you. 20k quickly has turned to 45k, and still more money is asked for almost every single visit. Dr. Peck seems to be a great doctor, but the entire ordeal feels more like a scam than a service at this point. I
I have been referred by my gynecologist because this fertility was apparently one of the best one in California. After my first visit, my wife and I were very confused by the front desk way of management. Dr. Tourgeman was very nice, but disregard the patient as a whole and did not seem to take our concerns in consideration. My wife and I were there to do IUI only and he barely explain the procedure and suggest to use two of our vials for better success rate, we trusted him and just went for it. After each appointment it was very confusing and hard to talk with the front desk and their organisation with the bills seemed chaotic. Unfortunately we did not think a lot more of it until a year later when we receive a bill out of the blue asking for extreme amount of money from a credit collector... It was very surprising that nobody contacted us prior to that and waited up to a year with a creditor to let us know that some blood work was not paid.... I would not recommend this place to anybody, simply because fertility treatment is already stressful to anybody, nobody need this clinic added stress from poor management and bad customer service! Fortunately, the nurses were very nice and caring, but hard to get a hold to.
I cant believe this scammers allowed to do business! The financial department keep sending me bills even when I have my insurance coverage for it!! They refuse to contact the insurance company and keep sending me bills. I confirmed twice with my insurance about the coverage and got approval the service is covered with my policy. There is no one to talk to! They just scamming people with all this charges even when its covered by the Insurance!!! Such a scam do no do any business with this company.
My egg retrieval went amazing! The office and surgery center is very clean. The staff is great. Overall an awesome experience! Very minimal pain!
I had a good experience with Dr. Allison Peck for egg freezing, but now 5 years later, I unfortunately cannot recommend HRC Encino because of their hidden fees and scammy anti-competitive business practices. I was promised a manager would call and explain the reason the fee (aka ransom) was necessary, but of course no one ever did. Furthermore, I checked with another clinic to see what they would charge for a similar service and they said it was so basic they dont charge anything at all. HRC just took my money because there was absolutely nothing I could do about it short of going through the egg freezing process again 5 years later at another clinic. Buyer beware!Edit: Response to TK - I am not sure how to PM you. You can either look me up because I was a patient at HRC Encino or do a basic Google search on my name. The first link you get will take you to a page where you can email me.
I have to say this is one of the most stressful things Ive had to go through personally (I shall refrain from specifics) and Dr. Ben-Ozer, Angela and the entire HRC staff were amazing. I know nothing is guaranteed but they were so kind, compassionate and patient throughout of the entire process. The constant monitoring and adjusting of doses really gave me the best chance possible for success. I couldnt have hoped for a better team to help me through this. God bless!P.S. the parking structure is bananas expensive and the clinic doesnt validate but if youre there for less than 90mins its worth just buying something from Le Pain. They validate parking. You might as well get yourself a treat for the same amount of money.
Dr. Boostanfar and his nurse Jennifer B, took very good care of us. Watching all the baby testimonials on their website we knew we made the best decision. We drove 2-4 hours every visit depending on the traffic, and they were understanding when we were late, and most of the times we got in early when we arrived earlier. The IVF cycle went smooth and it was honestly easier than expected. (and i have an anxiety disorder). We are now 10 weeks pregnant and couldnt be more grateful for these peoples education and skills that put an end to our long wait and grief.
Dr Peck was more worried about her lunch or her kid’s ball game than my wife’s in vitro procedure. Came in bustling, 15 minutes late.Took her forever to do a transfer, and the staff in the room with us knew she was struggling to get the job done after the 3rd catheter was used. We did 2 transfers with her. After having a second opinion and analysis of everything she did, we were told we wasted 25k.Pick someone else, if you value your family and wallet.
We flew in from another state to work with Dr. Boostanfar after hearing good things about him and his abilities. We had been unsuccessful with prior IVF attempts with other facilities. Dr. Boostanfar took time to sit down with us before running the cycle and explained in great detail the odds and what he suggested we do. His assistance covered all the costs and set everything up. Pricing was in line with other places we had worked with and very reasonable. This is a much larger facility than we had worked with in the past so at times we missed the slower pace and personal touch of a small office, however everyone was super friendly and quick to get back to us whenever we had a question. The one advantage to working with a larger facility like HRC Ferility was whenever someone was out of the office there was always someone to cover them so we never went a day without a reply to an email or call back whenever we had a question. We worked with Maribel, Ana, Ivy, and Jennifer and they were all fantastic. We were successful on the first try and now have a wonderful new baby. If we were to try for a seconds child we would fly back to use Dr. Boostanfars services again.
My wife and I used HRC in Encino (and Westlake) and went into the process very excited and hopeful. After dealing with them for a while it became very frustrating, as most of you out there who have to do IVF know it is a very personal, expensive and emotional process. HRC treated us like a number rather than a couple who were trying to have a baby. The Dr. and nurse staff didnt communicate effectively to each other or to us. We were always having to call to follow up to get information that the nurses were supposed to get us. The few times I had to call their Huntington Beach headquarters they were not helpful and often times treated us as if we were inconveniencing them. They do so many IVF Cycles per year I feel like they have lost all ability to see that the people there trying to help actual matter. To them it is just a business transaction much like buying a car. After using HRC and having a terrible experience we have went to a local IVF Dr. in Westlake and they have been amazingly helpful and supportive throughout the process. Even though we have not had a successful pregnancy yet it make a big difference to use someone who cares and walks us through the entire process. I would 100% recommend NOT to use HRC.
We were successful with Dr. Peck, she is very nice, patient understanding, perfect Dr. We now have a 15 month old amazing baby girl and are pregnant with another one.Very happy and satisfied.. 1 star rating is for the financial and billing department, very unprofessional, lack of promptness, wrong bills, double bills to our insurance, months to try and rectify these situations and problems even when getting the management involved, if you do choose to go here, please check your bills and stand up for yourself, they will try to run you down and try and make you give up. Id give 0 stars if I could.
Terrible experience. They separated my wife and I immediately with no explanation. They didnt even let me have a chance to ask questions or comfort her at all. They were rude and did not seem to care about their patients. When I asked if i could go back before she went under they LIED to me ans said it was state law that I couldnt go back until after surgery. If you dont mind being lied to, under informed and treated like a number then this is the place for you. I would not recommend this place to anyone!
Terrible communication issues and a attitude of who cares or nobody cares is the predominant in this clinic. Even the doctors may be nice, the rest of the service is trashy and difficult. they do not return the calls but after several days of constant calling everyday because nobody responsible is around. Nobody can answer your questions or solve a situation; they always say they will return the call but nobody cares until you are lucky enough to find someone who knows the information that you need. They are a shame.
The process is not easy but at the same time not impossible. Dr Peck is truly the best it was a bit pricey for us but they also offer financing. After the 1st attempt it came out positive 😍 this was in 2017 now in 2018 we are enjoying our little baby boy. We had been trying for 12 years. Truly recomend it!
I’m trying to have a reasonable discussion with the Encino office manger, Alison Segal, regarding the mistake that was made by Dr. Michael Feinman, for almost 3 weeks, but no response.DON’T CHOOSE THIS CLINIC IF YOU WANT TO HOLD YOUR BABY.They are irresponsible and just wantto take your money. They don’t care about you. YOU ARE JUST A MONEY MAKER MACHINE TO THEM.
Before I go, I made an appointment with them to do a lab and ask if it is covered by my insurance. They said YES!The day I went there, they ask me if it was my first time here, they said nothing. While I finished the lab, the staff brought me to the counter and asked me to pay the fee. I was confused. I have insurance and I know it covers but they said WE DONT BILL INSURANCE! They told me they take my insurance when I made the appointment. They said nothing about they dont bill insurance before the lab while I said that was my first time there. I felt I was schemed. But I know, I can reimburse my fee through my insurance. So I paid the fee.Street parking only, my wife told me while I got there by the way. So my wife was sitting in the car waiting for me that day. She is a Physician. When she saw the receipt, it doesnt even say which lab I did in their clinic! (Here attached the simplest receipt I ever had)So I called back on our way to the restaurant. She told me that thats the only thing they can offer me and thats the receipt they offer to everybody else. She told me that I should be educated about the benefits I got. Oh, my god. Thats the worse experience I have ever had in a clinic. I was pissed off, I told her to cancel my lab. She told me she can send me a receipt with the lab name on that. But we checked the email, never found one.Now I am researching how to reimburse the fee. It needs the providers billings letterhead, name of my lab, and unapplied payment doesnt work! I dont know how long will it takes.Their finial department has a bad reputation. I couldnt agree more! I wish I had seen this before I go.So dealing with this is frustrated. I dont believer a good doctor will have such a department. Maybe they put more money on the advertisementor rank in fertility clincs.Never go back.
Great experience with Dr Peck and the whole Encino office staff. Best care and treatment. Hopefully our baby Frederick is up on the wall!
Do Not Go Here!!! Financial department is a scam! They adding cost to every patient and refuses to accept the health insurance coverage! See you in court.
The worst conversation I ever had on phoneI called them to get some information about IUI treatment but their main concern is only money.
Love this place and Dr. Boostanfar. They have been working with me for 2 years until we got it done
Receptionists need to be well trained......
Terrible communication issues and a attitude of who cares
Love Dr Boostanfar
