I was left on the waiting room for over an hour - as a potential new patient, it was a terrible experience. Front office only gave me an update when I asked. Doctor was condescending and the actual time with him was less than 6 mins. If you have a job or value your time, probably not the right office for you.
This place is extremely unorganized and should be shut down. Besides not having any parking, the nurses are passive aggressive, the front desk staff will tell you one thing and the nurses/doctor will tell you another. The MALE doctor is extremely aggressive and rude, when i expressed concerns about being touched inappropriately, the MALE doctor told me AND I QUOTE “Get another doctor then” What an EMBARRASSING practice. I see why they have 2 stars. If they don’t shut themselves down i’m sure one of their victims will. Ridiculous.
The doctor was great but I have been trying to get a hold of someone to call in a medication for me for over two weeks. I have left 4 messages and I never heard from anyone. Wish I had read the reviews on this office cuz it looks like a lot of women have had an issue with this practice.
The front desk employee who takes the calls is extremely unprofessional and has a poor attitude. This person should not be working with patients and scheduling appointments. I’ve had plenty of unpleasant experiences with her. Please hire someone who has experience and knows how to treat people.
From the front desk to the nurse practitioner everyone was kind, and friendly. The only real ding was having to wait 30 more minutes than expected. I was expecting maybe ten or 15 minutes, but not a 30. But I guess they were busier than I thought they would be. None the less I was satisfied with the overall outcome and visit. The third party site seems to be rarely used and is pointless to use if you need anything. Its better to call them directly. I waited over three weeks for a response and still havent gotten anything.
Dr.Afram always rushed appointments and never walked me through the process of what to expect during pregnancy and labor/delivery. He didn’t discuss procedures or possible outcomes. I had to continuously ask questions in order to get any information as this was my first pregnancy and I didn’t have much knowledge. After confirming that I wanted to give birth at Fair Oaks hospital, Dr. Afram informed me weeks later that I would be induced and this could only be done at Reston Hospital. When I showed up to my induction, I was told it was scheduled with the hospital OB who I’ve never met and not Dr. Afram or anyone else from Capital Womens Care. In fact, several nurses were not aware that CWC did inductions anywhere other than Fair Oaks or UVA Prince William Hospital. Although I had no complications during pregnancy, I ended up having to have a C-section & would have liked a dr who was familiar with my pregnancy to be there. I am disappointed this is how they treat their patients and would urge anyone considering this location to go elsewhere.
Capital women Care was recommended to me by a friend. I was very impressed by how organized and clean the office was. They squeezed me in on a short notice and yet they were so welcoming and friendly. Dr. Afram was so gentle, professional and nice. He was very efficient and guided me through every step of the way. I highly recommend Dr. David and his staff.
I had a positive experience with Dr. Afram. His patience in understanding my condition, thorough physical assessment, and clear explanation of the next steps were reassuring. After trying three other OBGYNs, I finally feel confident in continuing my healthcare journey with him.
Poor customer service. The front desk never picks up the phone and has a poor attitude.First of all, scheduling an appointment can only be done by submitting the online form, because the front desk never picks up the phone or returns your calls.I have a special pharmacy order that requires filling out some paperwork in the office. Havent heard anything for 3 weeks, I called the nurse to see what was going on. They told me there was a missing signature on the paperwork. I arrived at the office at 4:45 pm, and its already closed. When I finally got the paperwork, it looks like its not a missing signature - its a document they forgot to give to me to sign in the first place. I dont understand why the front desk gives me a bad attitude for her own mistakes. And I already wasted so much of my time for something that should be quick and easy.
Capital Womens Care is impossible. Scheduling an initial appointment and follow up appointments with Capital Womens Care has been awful. No one answers the phone and they do not return voicemails. At the same time I was in office and told to schedule a follow up in three months I was also told they dont open the calendar that far in advance. I liked the doctor himself but its not worth it.
Complete waste of time and misinformation. I made an appointment a month in advance and received pricing for HPV screening and Pop smear test over the phone. Since I do not have insurance and I am a self-pay patient , I confirmed the pricing three times. A month later I went to the office and they said they could only give me the price of seeing the doctor. They said they would not give the price of laboratory tests. They didn’t even have no idea who gave me the pricing or why they did that. I drove an hour to 8 a.m. appointment, but I encountered a fiasco. Unfortunately, I left the office without having any tests. Bait and switch classic.
I really like my Doctor I have no complaints about him. My issue is the office and trying to get a hold of someone. I’ve emailed, I’ve called no one responds or answers. After being prescribed a new type of birth control my feet and ankles have been swelling which has never happened before. I called the number on my birth control pack and the person said it is a form of water retention/Edema to stop taking it. I’m trying to inform the office so they can give me something different but NO ONE ANSWERS. I will be looking for a new OBGYN unfortunately.
The nurse, Carole, I believe was her name was amazing! I would give her 5 stars! As for the receptionist, I give her a 1 star because she was straight up rude. She was fussy because she had to put her mask on because the policy is you have to wear it when people are in there. She was talking rudely about other people, not sure if it was coworkers or patients, and when a nurse asked her a question she became very rude and agitated. We are all entitled to our share of bad days but I feel like this was just a bit unprofessional. I’ve gone here for about a year and I never really had issues before except the demeanor of the receptionists.
This review is for the front desk. If the doctor isnt going to be in the office and you knew that it will impact the patients who had made appointment a month before, you can at least give us a call to let us know. When we got to the office, all we had was doctor had emergency procedure, shes not here. The front desk KNEW that the doctor was on an emergency procedure for hours before we came in and still didnt notify the patients coming in. We understand emergency procedures happen, but at least you could let other patients know so that we dont have to make an unnecessary trip. The front desk also refuses to take any calls / return phone calls back. They could not accommodate to make a new reservation in time for my insurance benefit deadline as well. I do not appreciate this company wasting my money and time.
I was satisfied for the most part. The doctor was a little dismissive but did suggest running tests without me asking, which I appreciated. He also is referring me to someone who specializes in my concerns. I appreciate that, too. Not thrilled but satisfied, hence the four instead of five stars.
I was seen by Melissa Dhas, NP at the Fair Oaks office and wanted to leave a review because I didnt see many reviews mentioning her. She was so great, patiently listened to my concerns, and made me feel very comfortable as a new patient doing an annual exam for the first time. The appointment didnt feel rushed and I didnt have to wait too long after my scheduled time to be seen. I felt at ease with my care plan leaving the office and highly recommend Melissa and CWC!
I have had the worst experience of my life ay this office. Never have I dealt with such unprofessional people who simply WILL NOT do their jobs to handle a very minor issue. My insurance needed a form from them to be able to process the claim from one of the visits I had. Instead of simply contacting my insurance company and providing them the form, this office proceeded to ignore my phone calls, ignore my messages on the billing phone line, ignore messages left by the insurance company, and had the AUDACITY to contact debt collectors instead!! It has been over a MONTH of me trying to get a hold of them and finally when I went their office in person, they called the billing person who said they were “taking care of the situation”. A few days later, I am still being harassed by the debt collectors! Why will they simply not make a few phone calls and fax the forms over so my insurance can process the claim and they can get their money??? It’s really as simple as that and they’ve turned it into a dilemma that is taking months and is becoming stressful on this pregnant woman! DO NOT GO HERE! It’s not worth the laziness of the billing department who simply will not do their jobs.
I got a lab test and they NEVER called me back and I called many times to get my lab results but nobody ever answered!! Its been 3 months since I had the labs and still they never called me back, after I left many voice messages for the last three weeks... Ill never come back to this place...
I just want to compliment front desk receptionist Alanna and Dr Iskander. I just moved to VA from TX and was looking for a clinic for my annual exam. From check in to check out I felt very welcomed. Very knowledgeable staff warm and friendly. Didnt rush me. Recommend this office. Will continue to go here from now on
I wouldn’t wish this place on a dead body let alone a living person! Rude front desk and very poor experience overall. After scheduling and confirming my appointment two weeks ago, I drove an hour and arrived on-time at their office today only to be told my appointment time had changed. What?! I have nothing that says that via email/call/text. Plus, the appointment they have me scheduled for is wrong! I showed my appointment confirmation with the correct time and was met with, “We have to reschedule you.” No apologies, no effort to accommodate their error. I ask if they can still see me since it was their mistake. The girl at the front desk dismissively told me to wait and they would try to fit me in, in between patients. Oh btw, the lobby is completely empty. I ask for an estimated time and she raises her voice and tell me she doesn’t know. The provider on duty can hear the conversation and just looks the other way. Needless to say, I walked out and can never visit or recommend the location or its providers. Waste of my time and complete trash.
At first I had a good experience with them but as time went by they became rude , they never answer the phone and when they do theyre mad I even got hang up on . This is not a way to treat people specially people with infertility problems we are already going through a though time for them to add on to it . Dr. Austin is great and I will be goin to the Manassas location even if is further just to see her.
I highly recommend Dr. Austin at Capital Women’s Care. She is very pleasant, great bedside manner and attentive. I like how she sat down and took the time to talk me, check in on how I was feeling and asked about any concerns I was having. She listened and addressed my concerns, I felt like I was talking not just to a doctor but a friend. As I go through mid-life changes Dr. Austin is the type of doctor I was looking for and need. Now I could not leave a review without mentioning Carol, she is a gem, very friendly and welcoming. Positive, pleasant and makes you feel at ease.
I cannot recommend this practice. Every appointment I had I waited 45 minutes to an hour in the exam room. If I were 15 minuets late they would have cancelled my appointment, but they can have patients waiting for an hour with not even an explanation or apology. Dr Afram was always in a rush, I never felt like I mattered or my concerns or questions were listened to. This is my first pregnancy so I had a lot of concerns that didn’t matter to this practice. Please go somewhere else.
My provider was wonderful, very professional and understanding. She really took her time to listen to all my concerns and we; together; arrived to the best plan for me. I would recommend Melissa Dhas NP to everyone!
First time there and all-in-all everything went smoothly and Melissa was very nice and easy to talk to. The only complaint I have is the bathroom. There were 3 urine samples left in there on the sink from previous patients which was pretty gross. Strange that they were still n there and not in the back being tested and why the heck isn’t someone cleaning that up cause the last thing I want to see or smell is someone else’s urine.
TLDR: Dishonest Business Practices and clearly dont care about their GYN patients.I came in for my annual appointment, and brought up some concerns I had during the appointment. Due to this, they ended up charging my insurance for both the annual and a concern related appointment all within a single visit (AKA, 2 appointment charges for 1 appointment). This led to me having to pay when I should not have. When I called to discuss this with the business manager, she was very rude, and insisted this was common business practice. I have been to at least a dozen different GYNs, shared concerns during my annual appointments with them, and this is the first and only time I have ever been charged twice for a single visit.I should add I had originally scheduled my initial appointment with a female doctor. A week or so out, they called to reschedule it, and at the time I reaffirmed I would prefer to have a female doctor. The day before I get an email confirming my appointment, only for it to be with a male doctor. I called and asked about trying to switch to a female instead, and the receptionist insisted the one female doctor of the practice was booked for several weeks. I pointed out I had booked my appointment nearly a month in advance. They again insisted that it would be several weeks to a month before I could get on the female doctors schedule. I ended up sticking with the male doctor for my appointment, but he was extremely brusque and abrasive. In addition, I was subjected to multiple uncomfortable ultrasounds, had appointments rescheduled while I was there for them, and frequently was left waiting for at least an hour for what would end up being maybe five minutes with the doctor.I would give them zero stars if it was an option. I have cancelled all follow up appointments and will be seeking a new GYN for the future.
My GYN doctor retired in July and I was forced to find another doctor and practice. After doing a google search and reading a few reviews, I decided to give Capital Women’s Care a try. My visit was very pleasant from beginning to end. Dr. Sidhu was very warm and welcoming. The staff was great as well. Booking and confirming my appointment was flawless. My entire experience was FANTASTIC! I have found my new GYN home. Thank you Capital Women’s Care!
If I could give my experience 0 stars I would do so. Came here as a new patient to get an incredibly easy out patient procedure. I was given a price of $250 prior to the procedure. Afterward, I was charged over $500 with a self-pay discount. Fast forward another month and they billed me an additional $40 - for what? No other services rendered. I called and was assured this was a clerical error. Fast forward another month and ANOTHER $100 ADDED TO THE “Bill” bringing the total to $140! For what?!??These people are crooks. I was in the office less than 20 minutes. If you are self-pay make sure you get a receipt and hold onto it or they will try to continually bill you.To add insult to injury the doctor had absolutely no bedside manner. Save yourself and your wallet and go elsewhere.
Do not recommend this place. The doctor takes forever to see you. Expect to be waiting in the room for at least 45 minutes. This is not a one time occurrence, it happens every time. The doctor takes forever to see me and I can hear her in the rooms next to me talking to other patients that got here after me. I even made the first Appt of the day to see if that would make a difference but it didn’t. If your not 30 weeks or more pregnant it’s like they don’t care. Also they rush you out the door and make you feel stupid for asking questions. When I came in with severe nausea, they prescribed me with an anti-nausea medication instead of realizing that I had heartburn that was making me nauseous. If I knew I had heartburn I would have changed my diet instead of taking potentially harmful prescriptions.
Dr. Austin is extremely caring and sweet. She provides wonderful care by actively listening to your concerns and by providing sound, reasonable advice. I feel comfortable, safe, and calm - Thank you!
I love Melissa Soo much ,she made me feel so comfortable!! She would stop to nothing to make sure she could get as much information about my process. I am a lesbian 😂 so I was a bit uncomfortable explaining my whole process . But she was so understanding of my situation hands down the best experience I’ve ever had!! I recommend ms.Melissa to any lgbtq she didnt know much about it but she stop at nothing to figure it out !! And that’s all I need and she’s just all around a dope doctor!! I love love love her !!! She’s the type of doctors this generation needs !!!! -Breona Haskins
Dr. Afram is a fabulous doctor and talented surgeon. I drove over 4 hours one way to see him about my fibroid issues which ultimately required surgery. He is both a great listener and explainer. The laparoscopic hysterectomy was so skillfully performed that I had no bruising and almost no pain post surgery. Absolutely wonderful.
I have seen Capital Women’s Care physicians for over 24 years! I love Nurse Practitioner Debbie Thompson!!! She is very kind, caring, compassionate and knowledgeable and always on time!! I will highly recommend her. They got to delivered my two babies and it was a wonderful experience. They have very friendly staff and they are located in Manassas, Haymarket and I just had my check up at their Fair Oaks Location, so convenient! Thank you Debbie Thompson and staff!
The overall annual was pretty typical but everything else was what ruined it for me. I could hear the doctor and one of the assistants talking not very nicely about me RIGHT outside of the room I was in right before they came in. Not at all what you want to hear when you’re about to be literally open and vulnerable in front of two strangers. Secondly, I explained an issue that was happening to be told that what I was experiencing made no sense and was made to believe that I was wrong in my explanation of what was happening to me? (I went somewhere else where they explained to me physiologically why what I was experiencing was okay and made sense). If you want a professional and knowledgeable OBGYN, then I’d look elsewhere.
This is a very nice place with professional, caring and organized stuff members. Especially Dr. Afram. He has been a great, compassionate and very skillful OB, who always knew what to do next and how to approach any occurring issue. I had a very positive experience thanks to this wonderful and caring doctor.
Do not come here. Find another place. Their front desk staff are incompetent. Don’t schedule an appointment online because you’ll go in and have a completely different appointment. I ended up walking out, suggest you do the same.
I got in and out without any issues! The staff is really nice and helpful, and the office is clean and quiet. The only thing that is a little annoying is that all the bloodwork and testing that I need to do for my pregnancy, I have to go somewhere else to do. Not being able to bring our other child with us to anywhere to any appointments (thanks covid lol) makes that really difficult. I can’t be making my husband take off so much time from work to go get my blood drawn plus all the prenatal appointments. I just wish they were able to do it in-office like my previous OB was able to do. (We moved to a new area that’s why I switched) other than that they were great! :)
I had an appointment last week with this clinic and I was so satisfied the way the staff treat the patients taken care of them and make sure that they don’t to wait long to see the doctor who is very professional and reassuring to the patient specially dr.afram who focus on the details to make sure that his patient got what he expected from his doctor.
Everyone was so kind and patient and helped walk me through everything that happened. It was a lovely experience and I felt very safe throughout it, despite my own personal anxieties.
Great customer service was provided. The doctor was very thorough and made sure I understood options, diagnoses, etc. very pleased overall.
Its a decent office and doctors however they need to organize the patients appointment time better as I had to wait 40 more minutes after my appointment time to see the doctor. I arrived at 9:00 AM ( my appt time was 9:15 AM and I waited 40 ~ 45 minutes to see the doctor ) . They also do not have blood works in this location which makes it really difficult to drive and visit one of the close by laboratories.
Dr Afram is a very caring and compassionate doctor . He follows up personally after appointments or if there is any problem. He is always accessible which is not the case of most OB that I saw before. He speaks different languages which is really great for non English speakersHe is a good listener and addresses all my questions and concerns. During my pré labor he always made himself available to talk after office hours if I had any questions. I delivered at the Stone Springs Hospital and even though Dr. Afram was unable to deliver me, he made sure I had the best Dr and best service. This was my second baby, I saw many OBGYN before Dr Afram, he is the BEST!The staff in this facility is very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend them.
Excellent doctors and really beautiful and stylish office. The doctors actually listen and don’t treat you like just another number. The staff were also real nice and friendly and made me feel very comfortable. Excellent service!
I’m glad to have found Capitol Women’s Health. They came recommended to me by my PCP and I’ve only ever had positive experiences with them. Highly recommend!
Just gave birth to my 5th child via c section#4! Dr. Afram and his colleagues were amazing! I highly recommend this practice! Office staff is very caring and professional as well! Thank you for an amazing experience!!!!!!
I had a great experience at this location. The front desk personnel is very friendly and professional. The doctor treated me well, answered all.my questions and explained me in detail all pertaining to my visit.
Dr. Austin was very professional and personable. She didnt make me feel rushed and I was very comfortable with her even though it was my first time with her.
I had an appointment at 3.45pm at the Fair Oaks location since the one I usually go in Haymarket was completely booked for Nov. so, I took a chance on this location and now I see why no one goes here. It took 45 min. for them just to check my weight, pressure, etc. and then another 25 min. for the NP (Melissa D.) to see me. NO RESPECT AT ALL FOR PATIENTS TIME AND/OR TIME OF APPOINTMENT, DO NOT GO HERE
I have good take care from A-Z , with all team nice , with Dr. and He explained so clearly and this is the first time I been here on yesterday 6/8/23 but look good at all services.
Like the process, Doctor was very knowledgeable and explain everything to me , nurse respond questions. however the billing part was never disclosed throughout and I still cannot get access to the patient portal.
Please be advised before making an appointment at this facility that its doctors and staff are incredibly unprofessional and insensitive. They have zero regard for the patients comfort and will ignore all requests and concern to do so.
Everything about this practice is AWESOME!!I absolutely adore the nurse Carole , she’s so personable!! The Dr. was personable as well!!
This establishment has had a repeated pattern of unprofessionalism and insensitivity. Countless times have I brought up an issue I was sensitive about and each time I was ignored and felt put down. I would not come here again and suggest anyone looking to go here to find another practice with more compassion.
My first visit here and Grace was absolutely the best - professional, knowledgeable, compassionate. I would recommend this practice!
Pro: very good practiceCon: I am an existing patient but the last time I waited 45 min just to be seen for 5 min. What da heck.
Had a fantastic first time at this office! The doctor and staff were extremely friendly and efficient. I will be looking forward to my next appointment.
Customer service was great, facility was nice and clean, and the WHNP (Melissa Dhas) who performed my well-woman exam was very friendly, reassuring, knowledgeable, and performed my exam skillfully.
Staff and nurse practitioner was amazing!
I was recommended to come here by a friend and I’m so glad I listened to her! Dr.Afram and the staff are so nice. Would definitely recommend Dr.Afram he addresses all my problems and is very caring!
Billing office is ridiculous, provided wrong info to insurance and I am forced to double payNo one ever picked up the call or called me back. Super long wait every time.
Dr. Galuk is amazing, she really cares about her patients, she takes the time to explain any concerns and truly love having her as my doctor.
Melissa Dhas, NP was fantastic.. really thorough, explained everything well and I felt very comfortable with her.
The staff at Capital Womens Care is always very friendly. I also appreciate the cleanliness of the office.
All the doctors here are amazing, professional and caring. The stuff is very nice as well. I would definitely recommend!!
For the first time in 5 years, I felt like a womens health professional finally listened to me! Professional, friendly, highly recommended!
Super nice staff. The doc listened and asked questions that made me feel cared for.
Doctor is very knowledgeable. Friendly staff. She actually listens to you and the explanation is very detailed.
It was a perfect experience!! All staff very polite and attentive!!
Everyone is super professional and nice. I couldn’t recommend this facility more.
It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had at the doctors office
Always greeted with warmth and always walk away feeling as if I have been cared for.
Friendly, clean and professional office! Dr. Dhas was wonderful.
Loved the location, the professionalism. It was great no-stress experience.
Great and timely. I feel great about my visit
I love this practice and everyone in it!!!! Highly recommend!!!!
They dont deserve 1 star
Very nice and helpful staff.
Great staff and doctor!
Melissa is wonderful.
Everything went well.
