They didnt take my insurance and told me my visit would be $140 for cash pay. Then billed me an additional $110. Thats $250 for a 15 minute visit! If I would have been informed of the actual price I would have gone elsewhere.
I went in with symptoms that had been ongoing for several days and requested a specific test. It was not until after I received the test that they told me it would be a day or two to get results. I ended up calling back in three different times to get the test results and a prescription filled. Every time I had to wait hours for a call back and never once was able to speak to a health care provider, but was handed off between office staff. This experience was unimpressive in every way, and I will not be going back to this urgent care.
I went to this location because I was feeling extremely ill. I expressed that I had multiple symptoms and would like to be checked out. No tests were ran And I was told I have a viral bug, but I should be good to go back to work as I was not contagious. The following day, I was still feeling extremely ill so I went to Walgreens and purchased Covid test. Turns out I tested positive for Covid. I called Sterling urgent care to let them know That I was dissatisfied with my experience with them. They proceeded to make excuses saying that they offered a test and recommended that I go get a test, which was a lie. I got two loved ones sick due to the misinformation I received. I will not go back to Sterling urgent care due to this experience. I hope this helps someone else.
The staff was super polite and kind even at the end of the day, respectfully letting others know when they couldnt take anyone else. Best way I have ever seen it handled. I love the tinted windows for privacy, especially while filling out forms. Tinted windows also reduce direct solar gain which helps keep the energy use down in the building in summer (direct solar gain). My nurses name today was Morgan, she was super polite, made me laugh when I was nervous, did her job well and professional. Great healthcare worker overall, I would be happy to come back here.
I went in to the office on Glenwood with a sore on my foot and wanted it to get looked at and asked how much it would cost as I have no insurance and am cash self pay. The lady told me it was $140 and I would need to pay right then, so although it was quite a high amount I agreed and paid. I went in to see the nurse practitioner and she wrapped and basically said go home and ice it and let them know if it didnt get better in a few days. That was a week ago and today I get another bill for $110 (so the real amount was $250) and I called to tell them there must be a mistake and they said no. The $140 was the initial bill and they said I signed it when I signed the paper work, which I assumed was the hipa paperwork. They are very devious and Ive filed a complaint with the BBB and you can bet they have not heard the end of this yet. HORRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICE that they cant be honest and upfront with their customers about how much it really cost to be seen there. Had they been honest and told me it was $250 I would have turned around and walked out and waited for my doctor at Terry Reilly to open on Monday. They should be ashamed of their selves for not being honest business people. I will never walk in your business again !! This business has zero honesty and integrity!!
All other urgent care in the valley charges my $10 copay. These guys are out of network it cost $70 for my copay. I was not able to receive medical attention today because I didnt have money.
The staff is really friendly. The location is also extremely convenient. I went there on a Thursday afternoon about two in the afternoon and I was extremely lucky in that no one was waiting. Can’t say that about a hospital emergency room or even your own doctors office.
I had to take my housekeeper to this urgent care facility for a cut finger and we received excellent care and support starting with the wonderful front desk receptionist Leslie, to the assigned nursing and medical staff. Definitely a great place to seek professional medical assistance with a responsive, caring medical team. Highly recommended.
One of the first urgent cares I’ve gone to that didn’t treat me like another number. Yes, it was slower, but they made me feel like I mattered. Joshua at the front desk was kind and respectful. And the physician who saw me took the time to explain things, and listen to me and answer all my questions. Better then even a regular doctors office. I’d recommend these guys for all urgent care needs!
Seriously the best and friendliest service in the valley. We used to stick to a certain urgent care despite the further drive but after numerous horrible interactions we gave this one a try. Every single person we interacted with was pleasant and kind from the front desk staff to the doctors. They asked thorough questions to figure out what was wrong. Our medical assistant was phenomenal! They were very transparent with wait times and even had capri suns on standby for my teenage son. Seriously this place is top notch and our new go to spot when we are needing urgent care.
Came in about strep throat symptoms, within 20 minutes I was called back to be seen, all the staff were super friendly, even offered me a water while I waited for my tests to be done, which I had never experienced anywhere else so that was a bit refreshing. Got my results for my tests within 10 minutes or so, was given many method of alleviating my symptoms and a detailed explanation of my diagnosis, and even given the option to do a lab test for further testing. Overall I received better care than I expected to receive here, and will definitely be coming here again for urgent care.
Went there in a lot of pain due to testicle infection in serious need of help, had no insurance or money and the lady at the reception refused to let me in to get seen going to warn people in the future to not get help here. I have never been turned down for something serious before so if I could put zero stars at this place I would.
I am having kidney stone problems again (after a 2cm one was removed in August). I knew the pain that was coming and Jennifer, the medical assistant, and the provider, Isabel were amazing! So professional and caring! Isabel wrote me 3 prescriptions AND sent me over to another AFC that had a shot that would help me with the pain.I will use them again; my daughter was right, they were great!
Had an urgent health issue come up and my regular healthcare provider had no room for a same-day appointment so I check these guys out. So glad I did! Very kind, very timely, high-quality medical care and information. I love the way I was handled by everyone from the receptionist to the MA to provider herself! Thank you for being true to your mission! 🩵
Hands down the most respectful office I’ve ever been to. Respectful of your time, your comfort, and your visit. I went in the morning on Friday 11/25, was greeted immediately and offered water. They offered juice to my daughter as well, and just were very kind. I was seen pretty fast considering it was urgent care, they had my tests for Covid and the flu done as soon as I went back to the room. Usually getting swabbed for being sick sucks, but the whole experience was really fast and easy. I was able to leave knowing what I was sick with. They have a clean and comfortable environment, definitely will be returning if I’m ever in need again. These people are why our health care workers deserve so much appreciation. Thank you guys!
Had an excellent experience here; wait time was not too long and the receptionist was very helpful. My provider and medical assistant were also excellent: really insightful and informative but also very empathetic and considerate. They went above and beyond to help me. Really appreciate their bedside manners as well as their expertise!
I have never had such an easy, welcoming, and time efficient experience at an urgent care. From the welcoming front desk, to Jennifer the friendly MA, to the kind, easy to talk to, patient and thorough Dr. Teagan Shaw.
In an out in 50 minutes which is really nice for an urgent care. Im used to waiting much longer. The MA, LPN and med student who examined me were all exceptionally friendly and informative. The MA had all the tests ready to go when she walked in the room. The receptionist told me about the costs insurance didn’t cover before I went back to the appointment, whereas it’s been an unpleasant surprise before at other urgent care clinics. I appreciated the follow up call today as well. All in all really impressed with the care and bedside manner of the staff here. I’ll come back if I have the need.
Caring, Well trained and professional. I appreciated the office staff working to track down my ins info when I had left my card at home. It is nice that they bring in medical students as interns and to mentor.
Great experience! Friendly and helpful each step of the way, they got me in and out. Had so many wait time issues with ALs. This will be my new Urgent Care for sure, recommend
My experience with this facility today was excellent! Dr. Campana was so knowledgeable and took exceptional care of my dislocated shoulder. He very clearly knew what he was doing and got it realigned quickly. Nobody WANTS to have to take a trip to urgent care, but rest assured, Dr. Campana is an excellent physician and he will take the best care of you no matter what. Thank you so much, Dr. Campana and AFC! Cheers, -James
I came to AFC for a DOT (Dept of Transportation) physical and they were wonderful. Sarah was very professional in taking all my statistics and Noel gave me the most thorough DOT exam I have ever had 😀 I definitely recommend this facility for any of your medical urgent care needs.
I had my first visit to AFC a couple of days ago. The place is fairly new to the area, so I was skeptical. Ive always gone to a different urgent care place here locally, but had heard good things about AFC. Walking in the door, I was surprised at how open and bright everything was! The facility was spotless! The staff was doing an incredible job of helping to keep people safely distanced, you never know who might be contagious anymore. Brittanie, at reception did an excellent job of explaining the registration process to me. It was super busy, so I was given the option of waiting in my car, or running errands while I waited and they would call me when they were ready. The wait was fine, keeping in mind the high Covid testing they do. When I was called back to the exam from, Diana, Katie and the provider Noel were so welcoming and kind. While I waited for my results, the Manager, Brad I think, even came to check on me and offered me a bottle of water while I waited. Such great service, such great people! Ill recommend AFC to all my friends and family without reservation. Thank you guys!!
The staff was friendly and personable. I was extremely impressed with the woman at the reception desk and another woman in the billing department. They spent a lot of time on the phone with the buricratic nightmare that is the VA. Their diligence saved me from a fairly good sized out of pocket expense. If you are a veteran who would rather not deal with a doctor visit to the VA, I would highly recommend AFC.
Before Thanksgiving, I was incredibly sick with a horrible cold. However, I also ended up having an anxiety attack, mainly from living alone and being miserable. I went to them two days in a row (once for covid testing, the second for anxiety) and they were so great to me! The front desk staff as well as the doctor took me so seriously. I felt so cared for, even though I was embarrassed. I highly recommend seeing them for any urgent care issues! Not to mention they were able to get me in right away, always a plus!
Margo did an exceptional and thorough review of my symptoms and pain I was experiencing. The whole staff was incredibly friendly and caring. Recommend this clinic to everyone.
I really liked that you had videos of cute animals in the rooms. For the first time ever my blood pressure was normal. I get panic attacks at any kind of medical establishment. And the service was excellent!
We went in for covid test going inDeronda was very good checking us in it only took maybe five or less minutes to get us back the M.A. gave us a covid test then the Dr Cody came in he was very thorough checking us over he took time answering all of our questions and he is a very good dr. I would definitely recommend afc urgent care in Garden city
I highly recommend AFC. They are timely, knowledgeable & thorough.Ive been to AFC twice & both times everyone, from the office staff to the MAs to the physicians, were so knowledgeable & unfailingly kind.During my last visit, Dr. Jaime Watts was amazing & spent extra time helping educate me on over-the-counter treatments for my recurring sinus irritations.
Everyone was helpful and kind from beginning to end. I felt my doctor provided a great plan for my recovery and educated me to help me stay healthy!
Although the wait time was super long, I’m sure the clinic is doing it’s best, I had a very good experience at AFC. Staff was nice, polite and collected. Madison Farrell took care of me after I was checked in, she was absolutely amazing, very professional and kind. Puts a smile on my face during these stressful times and I hope everyone that comes in feels as welcome as I did. Well done 👍
ASK for a price on any medical equipment before you leave with anything!!! Totally unethical and price gouging. They gave me a walking boot for a stress fracture, billed me later for $500. I could have bought something similar on amazon for under $100. WILL NEVER GO BACK HERE.
My husband and I went to this AFC clinic for a COVID test required for a trip. We found the staff friendly and very helpful. Kennedi was great as she administered the tests, as was the follow up with Megan. The clinic was busy, but we didn’t feel rushed through. We both appreciated the friendly and professional treatment by the clinic.
I was able to get in quickly to be seen. I was in a high amount of pain from an injury to my shoulder. Jason and Michele took very good care of me and were kind and considerate regarding my pain level. I was impressed with the facility and the care provided.
I went for covid testing and the anti bodies blood test and my nurse Abby was incredibly gentle. Had a throat swabs and blood drawn and didn’t feel either. She definitely gets a great review from me😊 the staff was also nice and welcoming, coming in to be tested and being treated like a human and not a potential walking germ is nice haha
From the receptionist to the nurses to my provider they were all amazing!! They immediately took care of me were kind and non judgemental at any point I will be going back and will referr anyone to them above and beyond Primary Health. I felt like I was heard it was so amazing!! Thank you all
I received care at AFC urgent care, Garden City while traveling. The clinic was busy when I arrived, but all patients were quickly seen and the registration staff were exceptionally kind and courteous. Morgan was the provider I worked with; she was warm, professional and my visit was completed without a long wait time. A great experience.
Dr Campana was amazing. Im here visiting my so-and-so family...broke my foot. He helped above and beyond to get me in to see a specialist, he phoned to help with getting the xrays.Great staff too, kind and helpful
Wonderful staff, beautiful facility, and Landon is the best! I walked right in with no wait, and they went the extra mile to make sure I had follow up specialists lined up.I would highly recommend!!
Ive been here since 8 am and it is now 2 pm. I just want to say thank you to the staff. I wasnt able to make any appointments anywhere else for today and they ended up getting me in, no appointment needed. I dont care that it took so long because I knew they were doing their best. And thank you Ali! My kids were very nervous that the flu test was going to hurt but you made sure they were comfortable and gave them snacks for being good:) 100% would recommend this place to anyone. If people have a problem with the long wait line go somewhere else.
AFC Urgent Care in Garden City was so efficient for first time check-in and treated everyone with respect. Their young staff at the front desk were polite and quick. My MA Brian also very caring and explained all procedures clearly to me. The PA Rochelle was also great - all staff seemed so spot on. Thank you for a great visit!
If I could give the Dr and staff 10 stars I would. I cant recommend them enough. They were all very, very professional and very thorough, and facilities were very clean. If you need Urgent Care come here, you will not be sorry.
From checking in to leaving the staff was so helpful and kind. We had 3 of us and they were efficient, friendly and helpful. I recommend them as a source for COVID testing but in addition to that they treat all ailments. Thank you again to a great team!Stasi, Tom and Isaac B.
Do not go to this facility to get a Covid test! A member of our family arrived last night about 5:15 and was told it would be 1.5 hour wait and that the test results are delivered within 15 minutes. Finally, after 2 hours she was taken back to an exam room and waited another 15 minutes before the test was administered and then told she had to also have an exam by a doctor (which we had better not be billed for). She was finally finished at 7:45 pm, but informed it was too late to run the test and get the results so they would run it first thing in the morning. After waiting until 10:00 a.m. (they open at 8), we called to get the results and the receptionist put us through to an answering machine. We left a message, but have not received a return phone call, e-mail or text. It is now going on 24 hours since first arriving at their facility and we still do no have results for a test that was supposed to give results in less than 15 minutes. Our continued phone calls go to the answering machine. This has been a most frustrating experience. Take the time to go to a facility where you need an appointment as it will save you much time in the long run.
Actually they don’t even deserve one star. Was told 3 times ( I called twice and confirmed once we got there) Covid testing is free and we would not owe anything even if we came every day. I unfortunately trusted that and got a $700 Dollar bill for me and my son 1 year later. They billed us for an emergency room visit. Nobody made us aware this would happen. Called the office manager who didn’t want to do anything for us and blamed us the customer for not knowing. I told him how would you feel if you were in our shoes and trusted in the estimate we got 1 year ago… he said he would expect a bill. So he pretty much told me I can’t trust his staff? I totally feel scammed. If they would’ve been honest and said Covid tests are free but be we do charge a doctor visit as well I would never gone there. So be aware if you go there for Covid testing. Overall I’m just disappointed in the bad customer service. Not even an apology or any acknowledgment of not giving accurate information. It’s just bad business to be me.
AFC team was very friendly, professional, and took great care of us. We were headed to Hawaii and needed a rapid COVID test, and they got us right in as walk-ins, tested, and back out the door in less than 45 minutes! Thanks Abby and team!
Diana in the clinic helped me today and was literally the best! It was actually the best experience I’ve ever had going to a clinic. She is comfortable and kind. She made me laugh through the discomfort of testing. She was also very diligent and precise which I appreciated. Thank you!
I went to get a COVID test because we live in a world where we never know anymore. The lady who did the tests, Diana, was incredibly nice and gentle. She was fast and efficient. Normally I have anxiety with dr’s and tests but this was the easiest visit I’ve had.
Diana and the receptionists were wonderful. They are all very knowledgeable and so calm and helpful. Plus they had The Pet Collective channel playing in the patient rooms so you get to watch cute animals while you wait. :)
Went here for a covid test before flying back to Boston. No appointment or insurance necessary! I was in and out in 30 minutes. Arrived at 8am on a Sunday and was the first one in—by the time I left only four other people had come in. I was initially wary because of the negative reviews from early July, but everyone I interacted with was extremely professional, kind, and wearing masks, gowns, and gloves—they seem to have worked out any issues that they may have had earlier on. I felt totally safe getting tested there. Results delivered through an online portal, which is really convenient.
Excellent service, very thorough and welcoming waiting area. There was a kid friendly movie playing. Hardly waited and they spent lots of time with us.
I’ve been to countless urgent care facilities that took my money, sent me away assuring me nothing was wrong, only for me to return to another with different results. Here, the staff was friendly and the doctor took his time in pinpointing the current issue. They even went as far as making sure I got a coupon for my prescription, which cut the cost to nearly 1/10th of the price. For somebody without insurance, I am super appreciative. Highly recommended. Thank you!
Really wonderful staff! However, we had a 3 hour wait for a covid test for our young symptomatic son. Tons of asymptomatic people getting covid tests to travel to Hawaii etc. and no priority for treating sick people. He was sitting in the lobby coughing for 2 1/2 hours.
Front staff was so amazing but the younger gal with long dark hair was extremely rude and seemed like we ruined her day by needing to come to the urgent care. Hopefully the company sees this and corrects her. I work in Healthcare and would never treat people so ignorantly. I am here due to pelvic pain and my mother has covid. She alone dropped 5 stars into barley 3. I understand that Healthcare is understaffed right now but no reason to be uncaring and unprofessional to the patients. No other complaints.
Unfortunately there are not a lot of places that do the rapid Covid-19 test. Also, it is unfortunate that masks aren’t required where I work in a Charter School, even though I am wearing a mask and have been vaccinated. The location and wait were not convenient, however, it is not blamed on AFC. I am grateful that AFC is doing the rapid test and I praise all of the workers here for all that they are doing. Thank you for being our heroes and I can’t thank you enough for all that you are doing in our community. Stay safe and healthy!
This is the 3rd time Ive been here. I absolutely hate it. I feel like Im going to catch Covid just walking in. My whole family came the first time and theyll never be back. I wouldnt be here now if there were any other options for a rapid test. They test for more than just covid, doing unnecessary things just to get every penny they can out of each visit. I made an appointment this time to avoid the wait. Upon arrival Im told it could be a 2 hour wait because there are walk-ins ahead of me. Totally unprofessional! Whats the point of making an appointment then?!
I came in for a COVID-19 test because AFC is the only place here in the treasure valley that you don’t have to have an appointment (the whole point of urgent care) and also does the rapid results test. The line definitely took a while to get through—it wrapped around the building, which was somewhat expected. Charles took me back and gave me some of the best customer service in preparing me for the test. He is hilarious! Ask for Charles when you come. He will make the wait worth it.
They were extremely helpful. I was trying to get an mri for an injury sustained at work. It proved to be more complicated than I would have imagined. Nicole was extremely helpful, called me with updates daily and got me an mri scheduled really quickly!
This place is great! We needed to get rapid Covid tests for travel and didnt realize it until the last minute. AFC got us in quickly and all of the staff was super freindly and helpful. Highly recommend AFC Urgent Care!
I was required to get a COVID-19 test for work and could not have had a more positive experience with AFC Urgent. Deborah, Mareesa, and Shari were knowledgable, friendly & went above and beyond to make the process smooth. There were 19 of us and we in and out in a flash. Friendly, professional and fast service is to be expected here. In addition to the great service, the test was quick and easy. Facilities were cleaned multiple times while we were there and I felt safe through the entire process.
I dont live in Boise and urgently needed a Covid test to travel out of the country, and AFC was the only place I could find that offered the types of tests accepted by the international airlines and foreign governmental regulations. The staff was exceptionally professional, polite and efficient, it was a very nice experience and I would not hesitate going there for any medical urgency.
I visited the Garden City location for a Covid test. My appointment was at 8:30, and I waited for over an hour. Although the check in staff were very friendly, the waiting room was packed. I felt vulnerable,, because it was impossible to social distance. I wondered why people were not asked to wait in their cars, as that would have been much safer. I received a false positive on my rapid test. I am fully vaccinated; three and a half weeks have passed since my second dose of the Pfizer vaccine. It is not impossible that I would still have Covid, although it was especially unlikely because all of my family members tested negative. I was informed that this situation had happened before, and they were not sure why. The practitioner was very friendly and helpful. She suggested that I could do another test, although this one would not be covered by insurance. I paid the fee, and was administered the test a second time. Before I was given results, the person from the front desk came in and let me know that management would not allow a second rapid test until 24 hours had passed. This did not make sense to me. I went elsewhere the same day and received another rapid test. That test was negative. Today (the day after) I went to a third location and received a PCR test. That test was also negative.
Excellent customer service. Jocelyn & Lissette were professional, attentive to detail, kind & compassionate. They were able to get us in earlier than our scheduled appointments for covid-19 testing. They even gave us bottled water.
Came in for a precautionary COVID test on July 7, as I was traveling to see family and wanted assurance I was negative. The website indicated results would be available in under 7 days, so I made travel plans accordingly. I have been tested in another state and the process was exceedingly painless. Preregister over the phone, drive through during your appointment time, techs come to the car, drive away in under 10 minutes with no risk of exposure. In contrast, my experience at AFC Urgent Care was incredibly stressful. After waiting outside in the hot sun in no discernible line for an hour and 45 minutes, with no information aside from the instruction to just wait when I called to confirm I didnt need to go inside to register, the front desk person appeared and told 8 people to come in to the waiting room. I appreciate that we are in unprecedented times, but in no other instance have I heard of testing facilities having likely COVID-positive people crowd into a room together to wait for extended periods of time. In this case it was an additional hour and a half. The receptionist called each person up individually to complete paperwork and then manually keypunched the information in to the system. I do not envy her her job, but HOW is there not a better way to make this more efficient. Register people over the phone in advance; have a different process or line for COVID testing; have people schedule appointments so theyre not waiting indefinitely with no updates....anything. During this waiting time, people were coming in and out of the waiting room asking for information and where they should be waiting. Its July. This pandemic has been raging for months. Youd think there could be a bit more information for people about the testing process. The receptionist was nice, and thanked people for their patience, and when I finally went in the tech and doctor were efficient and professional, which is the reason for the 2 stars. However, its now been over a week since the test, and I have no results and no indication of when I should expect them. At the time of the test, both the receptionist and the doctor assured me the results had been coming within 3 days. Ive registered for the online portal, filed several inquiry forms with LabCorp, and called AFC Urgent care multiple times to try to get an update on when I should expect results, or to at the very least confirm that my samples made it to the lab. They seem to be not answering their phones anymore. I understand that places are swamped right now, but there is no updated information to indicate that the results are taking longer than 7 days. Both AFC Urgent Care and the LabCorp website both say results in 4-6 days. Update the expected wait time and you might be less inundated with calls from concerned patients. Or confirm that tests have at least gotten to the lab.In general, PLEASE change your processes. I feel like I need to get tested again to ensure I didnt get the virus while sitting in the waiting room with 8 other potential COVID patients and the woman at the front desk who casually removed her mask for extended periods of time. Ive never felt more uncomfortable at a doctors office, or more frustrated trying to get any information after the fact.
Visited AFC when it was pretty busy for a travel test. Abby was absolutely incredible, so personable, quick, peaceful, and so kind! She got me in and out seamlessly. Having a personable and kind healthcare worker in this season seems so rare so it was very refreshing to have been helped by Abby!
If you need a COVID test for travel, just go here. The level of customer service is beyond any urgent care I have ever been to. They go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need to be comfortable and have peace of mind for your trip. They are well educated and informed and can answer your questions. Im seriously just so impressed by AFC Urgent Care Garden City.
I’ve never had such a smooth experience at an Urgent Care. From reception to follow up, everyone was professional and personable. The office was clean, staff wore proper PPEs, and CDC recommendations for COVID-19 were very well implemented. I’m so appreciative to everyone who made my unexpected trip to the doctor safe and positive. P.S. - Thank you Mareesa for answering all my questions and taking the time to send medical clearance to my employer!
I went in worried about my issue. Dr did test and found It tuned out to be a strained muscle nothing more. He even walked me to the lobby door and with humor assured that I would be fine.
This is my 4th time being tested for Covid at this location and every time the staff has been fantastic. The wait was relatively short and and our MA Abby, was great with my daughter! She was very knowledgeable and took the time to answer my questions! Thank you, Abby!
They were very quick and helpful! They greeted me very kindly and talked me through everything they were doing. I worked with Jocelyn and she was great. Definitely recommend for any of your urgent care or Covid needs!
Loooooooooooooong wait!! Staff seemed green as well. Plan to bring a book, sleeping bag, and a picnic meal if you go here.***Update from last review! We had to return again for another round of tests and had a way different experience. Thanks so much for the reply to my review, and I am sure time of day, etc. plays a role. Staff was friendly, wait time much less, and the doc came in right away instead of having to wait two hours to see a provider. Thanks for the excellent customer service.
Well organized, professional, and clean. I really appreciated Katies ability to navigate the nasal cavity, I barely felt my specimen being collected. Considering how busy it was when they opened on a freezing Sunday morning they were incredibly pleasant and understanding with the local citizenry imitating a glaring of cats. Thank you for making my day suck less.
Ill start by stating that I have a huge phobia of hospitals. I cant even believe Im leaving a 5 star review but I want to share my experience because its so rare that I receive good customer service these days. As soon as we walked in we were acknowledged and also reminded of the social distancing policy. ALL of the staff made a peaceful atmosphere. Keep up the fabulousness ladies! Its much appreciated.
They told me if I was there by 7:10 they’d give me a Covid test. I drove 80, not even going to lie, and got there( it should have taken me an hour and a half, it took me 49 min) I got there at 7:10 on the dot. They said they couldn’t see me.I called first. I called before I drove an hour at night, with deer and risk of being pulled over so I could know if I were safe to be around my immune compromised mother. Unreal the lack of compassion.
Went in for COVID testing and all went well! I was a little worried as it was my first time getting the test done but all the staff eased my worries. I still feel like there’s a swab in my nose LOL. Charles drew my blood for antibodies and lemme tell you, he’s a hoot!! It’s always nice being able to crack jokes, especially in this crazy year. Thank you everyone at AFC! Stay safe!
Even with an appointment, I didnt get back to see anyone for my rapid test for over an hr after my appointment time. They treat this like a full appointment even with just a retest. I also thought it was interesting that they decided that they needed to swab for strep and flu as well as covid even though I had a pos covid test just 5 daysAppointment time 10:50Walked out with results at 12:36It was never explained at any time that there was anyone getting ready to be transported. I was told well, we got a bit backed up back there. This was after I had enquired about the delay in my appointment at the one hour mark. At the 40 min mark, I was just told that they would check to see how many people we ahead of me, but that didnt happen.I understand that you are busy, but my time is also valuable. Your lack of appropriate communication is unacceptable.
They were awesome. Got me in and saw Dr quickly . And didnt leave me sitting forever between things. I really appreciated the care and concern they showed. Entire staff was very nice and helpful.
I brought my 2.5 year old toddler and 1 year old son to get a Moderna covid vaccination today. The medical assistant did a fine job with the 2.5 year olds vaccine but completely botched the 1 year olds and most of the vaccine ended up sprayed all over his leg. We had no idea how much he got and she left in a rush to speak to her manager and we never saw her again. The manager, who is an LPN, said it was because my 1 year moved during the vaccination, which was not true, and was unapologetic that he would now not be able to be fully vaccinated. She told me that it was really the second shot that mattered. He has already gotten a partial dose that looked like barely any and now could not get another. After 2.5 years of waiting for my children to be vaccinated, now knowing that my 1 year old cant be fully vaccinated and is not going to be protected made me so exhausted and sad. No one apologized, no one explained what I could do about the situation or even really seems to understand much about the vaccine at all and no one even told me when to come back for the next shot. I had to call our pediatrician to find out accurate trustworthy information. I would not trust mine or my childrens care to this facility ever again.
I wish I didnt even have to give this facility a 1 star. My grandchildren came here to receive a simple vaccination shot and the medical tech completely botched the job . After waiting 30 minutes in the reception area, even though there were no other patients in the building being seen, we were finally shown to an exam room. When the medical tech went to vaccinate my grandson who held as still as a statue the serum being injected trickled down his leg so that we have no idea if he got any of the medicine or not. When her supervisor, an LPN,,came to talk to us there was no apology. Just some made up story that the first shot doesnt really count. She might want to consult an epidemiologist or the CDC who would probably disagree with her. The director of the facility, probably fearing a lawsuit, called my daughter that evening and told her that he didnt even think children really needed to be vaccinated. WOW the unprofessionalism of this facility is mind blowing. Take my advice and DO NOT TAKE ANYONE YOU CARE ABOUT TO THIS FACILITY.
The staff that helped me were super friendly. I asked a lot of questions and the Nurse Practitioner was more than eager to answer. I was in and out and thats why I wasnt gonna go at first. After that I will be back to this urgent care for all my future needs.
Went in to get tested earlier this week. I had my blood drawn to test for the COVID antibodies and almost passed out. Instead of reinserting the needle, she dug around in my arm looking for the vein. The first time she tried on my left arm and couldn’t find the vein. I’m giving 2 stars because they were very nice but this was a horrible experience. My arm has been in pain since Wednesday and the bruising keeps spreading. Not impressed with how this was handled. I had to ask her to get me water and let me sit by the sink because I really thought I was going to pass out. Probably won’t be back but I appreciate how nice everyone was.
Started at 11:22 am to be tested it is now 3:44 pm, it should not take over 4 hours for 3 people to be tested that took 7-min to perform. After giving our info and was told an hour wait, so we waited. An hour and half goes by I have to ask when will we be seen and was told another hour wait on top of the hour and half already due to a family of five came in before us. They had since March to make a working standard operation process (SOP) to handle larger family walk ups. They could provide really time follow up for being seen via text since they ask for our mobile number to call us when ready and that their lobby would only allow 6 people at a time. Yet as the customer/patient and that my insurance will pay them for this service that is lacking communication for this testing site. We are busy all of us, so being proactive in your professional carrier especially customer service facing with individuals & familys TIME they are providing you and paying you money for your services to live. The need to communicate with people especially if out of your control time line double yet quadrupled. How unprofessional.
BEWARE!My wife took my daughter who had been exposed at school to Covid. She had zero symptoms, but wanted to be safe. My wife was told that my daughter couldn’t be tested unless my wife was tested as well because she’s a minor. Huh? My wife is fully vaccinated and again, neither of them were experiencing any symptoms. On top of this they also required testing for strep and influenza. This is 100% unnecessary testing and in my opinion fraudulent insurance billing. When my wife asked to see the written policy, they said they didn’t have one. I’m not surprised, since it is ridiculous. There are several other comments on here reporting the same. Fortunately they left without receiving care, so I won’t be receiving a surprise bill of $500 or more as other have reported. It’s obvious this place is more concerned about making a buck off the pandemic, rather than providing the necessary care. I will be reporting this to the Idaho Department of Insurance and Attorney General.STAY AWAY!
Went in to get the rapid Covid test at 10:30 am and was told that somebody would call me by the end of the day. Also told me that I would receive an email with labcorp information on it. I never heard from them via phone or email. After two days of trying to get in contact with them I was informed they are just too busy to call all the people getting tested. Then was told they had the wrong email and was not able to get me the sign in and information. I ended up having to take more time off to go in and get my printed results. Not the best experience. I am understand it is a crazy time for us all. Proper communication definitely goes a long way.
One of the worst healthcare experiences I’ve ever had. I went only to get a COVID test but ended up receiving multiple tests I wasn’t aware of like a strep throat test and flu test. I waited about an hour in a small waiting room with other patients waiting for their COVID tests and could hear many say they think they’re positive but there was hardly any 6 ft distancing. The front desk nurse took my insurance card but never told me my insurance wouldn’t cover the cost of the visit. In total sitting in that waiting room for an hour and speaking with the doctor for 5 min ended up totaling over $700. I just wanted the covid test which is covered by the CARES Act. I didn’t want flu tests and strep throat tests and now I’m stuck with a huge bill. I would not recommended going here for a COVID test.
I arrived yesterday 6/24 at 10:30 am. The line was long to do covid testing. Was told by one VERY cheerful and fully PPE’d employee that once in the board we could leave to get a drink or something as the line was about an hour wait. A short time later another employee came out, again fully clothed in PPE, took my information and suggested we not leave as the line was moving pretty quickly. Unfortunately there was a hiccup with another patient and we were outside for a bit longer than an hour wait. Total I spent 3 hours here, while it would’ve been nice to have some sort of shade if you’re having to wait in line outside the staff was friendly, covered, brought out water and once you were in a room the swabs went quick, doc listened to you, got your blood drawn and out the door you went.If you’re gonna come here for testing....expect a wait, bring water and maybe even a chair, you can sit in your car with the AC if you’re paying attn to your spot in line and how quick the line is going. If you lose your spot they do the best to get you in ASAP but they are busy and can not babysit the lines. Be courteous and respectful, they’re doing a great job!
Bad Covid safety - does it make sense to have people who are testing for Covid and are potentially positive to come inside the waiting room to check in? After calling to see how I could get a test and being told to come in any time between business hours, I arrived and was told that they had shut down Covid testing for 2 hours and that I would have to wait in a line outside for two hours otherwise I wouldn’t be able to get one because they were limiting the # of people for the day and it would fill up. I was not able to wait two hours outside, I went next door to Cole and got a test immediately. Luckily I tested negative - but if a person were positive and sick, having them wait for two hours in the cold also doesn’t seem like a good idea.
Our company needed to test our entire staff of six people as quickly as possible and Mareesa helped us coordinate that quickly and efficiently. No long waits, no issues with insurance. It made what could have been a very frustrating process quite simple.
I am grateful this location allowed us to have a rapid covid test done on short notice however it was not a good experience. The staff swabbed my husband and I both for flu and strep as well without asking if we wanted that done. We had no symptoms and did not want those tests done and certainly do not want to pay for them. My husbands covid test was indeterminate so instead of redoing it, they made him return the next day for another covid test, and made him test for flu and strep again even though he asked not to, and have another provider visit. Felt like an attempt to bill us for as many things as possible
We went for COVID testing for a trip to Hawaii. Everyone was super nice there, however, very concerned about testing specifically their instant testing for COVID to receive the State of Hawaii form to be allowed to fly. The process is to take a nasal swab for the instant one and an additional swab they send to a lab for testing plus they do other swabs that we didnt need.Family of 4 results.- Both adult parents negative on the instant, negative on the lab results- daughter - positive on the instant, negative on the lab. Went back 24 hours later positive on the instant waiting on her second lab and shes going to Walgreens for a test as I type.- son (he had COVID and all clear end of February) - Tested positive on the instant, negative on the lab. Given that we sent him to Walgreens next day Negative and we did a Saliva test through Costco same day and shipped it out Negative also.Unfortunately cancelled all reservations and were not going now but highly concerned that their instant read is not working correctly at this facility. Makes ZERO sense why lab is negative and all other test negative but their quick test is positive. Ill update as we get final result for our daughter.Update - Daughter tested negative at Walgreens now as well.Ive updated my review from 1 to 5. I dont believe this is an AFC issue but rather a COVID testing and potentially vaccinated individuals. Not saying not to get vaccinated as I think we should but I believe their instant test is potentially picking up on something.Did call the Regional Manager (got her name and number from another review) and had a GREAT call with her and explained the situation and concern I had. I dont blame AFC for what happened but believe were dealing with science that is evolving right now .
I don’t know why this place is called urgent care when there’s nothing urgent about it. Went here to get a COVID test and was told to wait in my car. I waited for an hour and no call.Went inside and sat for 20 min before one of the nurses asked my name. Finally I got back there and was forgotten about twice and had to physically leave my room to get someone’s attention. I was there for 2.5 hours to get a simple covid test.Had to come back the next day and was met with 2 hour waiting times.Place is BS. Just pay for the test elsewhere.
Great place to go. They have a lot of services, although Ive only been in for the covid rapid tests. Staff is very professional. Breana is awesome and makes the tests very easy. There is long wait times right now, but if its not obvious why and you get upset, go somewhere else because the staff does not need that right now.
Britney at the front desk was both knowledgeable humorous and delightful, The technicians especially Jamie was extremely helpful in helping me understand the why behind the various tests. Doesn’t feel like your traditional doctors office. Very professional and I lived the TV’s in the rooms. I just wish I had a QR CODE THAT WOULD LINK ME TO VIDEOS ABOUT THE TESTING I WAS GOKNG TO HAVE DONE.Staff et. al. Great attitude and professionalism.
Do NOT go here for covid testing. Im a physician assistant and I was very disappointed with many aspects of our time at AFC. First, we were told that we could get covid testing results in 15 minutes. We waited several hours to get our rapid results (not 15 minutes) and they were both falsely negative. Furthermore, they do not tell you until you are in an exam room that their protocol for covid testing means they also make you get tested for influenza A/B and strep even though I made it clear I did not want these tests done. Most importantly, the MA did the covid swab incorrectly (the swab should be left in your nose for at least 10 seconds, she left it in for 2 seconds) which resulted in a falsely negative PCR test. I got tested at St. Lukes the next day (they did the swab correctly) which was positive (AND I got my result the next morning). I waited 5 days to get my falsely negative test from AFC (and had to create an account online to get the result as any attempts to call AFC went to voicemail). After the MA did the tests she told us that a provider was going to come in and see us (we did not want or require an office visit), the office visit consisted of the provider asking which symptoms we had and then handing us a piece of paper telling us how to get our results on an online health portal. The provider told us that a negative result from the rapid test is unreliable but a positive result is usually correct but only because I asked. This should be one of the most important things to counsel people on as many can feel reassured by a negative result. If you want to get tested properly and avoid being cornered into getting an office visit and 2 extra tests AND you want some counseling on the tests you are getting I suggest you call St. Lukes or St. Alphonsus and they will direct you where you can get tested (many times from your car).
I am giving two stars, not one, because my previous visit here went fine. AFC now does not accept Blue Cross of Idaho, so your Covid test will not be free, it will cost $70 (but they wont tell you that until AFTER you wait in their huge line). These people are clearly overloaded for Covid testing. I arrived at 4:10 PM and they were already cutting the line off for the night. They said that people get there at 6 to wait for their 8 AM opening time. I waited over an hour and a half outdoors in the cold just to get checked in (there is a secondary wait afterward) and find out that my insurance wouldnt work. Beware!Update (in response to your reply):Neither the high volume of patients nor Blue Crosss decision to put you out of network is your fault. However, how you handle the problem is absolutely your responsibility. If theres a big line forming, make a sign up sheet for the door and tell people to be back by a certain time. If theyre not there by the second time you call their name, they miss their chance. Then send them back to wait in their car or at home. Restaurants figured this out years ago; now its your turn. It is not acceptable to have sick people standing on the sidewalk in below freezing temperatures for 1.5-2 hours. As far as Blue Cross goes, your website needs to reflect that there is a $70 co-pay for people with Blue Cross insurance. As it stands, the website just says it will be free with insurance, which is misleading. As a bonus, if the people with Blue Cross avoid your clinic, it will help solve your overcrowding problem. When your website is updated to reflect reality, I will happily take down my bad review.
Great place! Easy in!! And the people are awesome!!Dr Sturkie helped me so much and told me the direction how to handle insurance with the medical problem. And the front desk Shari was helpful with my nerves and the paperwork! The nurses are very knowledgeable!! I will continue to come here when necessary!
Myself and two coworkers went in for Covid tests after another coworker got sick with Corona. None of us had symptoms, it was just a mandatory test. The doctor that administered the tests suggested casually that we also get tested for flu and strep at the same time just in case, even though none of us felt sick at all. This resulted in $500 worth of charges to each of us for services that in hindsight were not necessary. I feel like the clinic was taking advantage of the situation to make extra money.
COVID TESTING WARNING: Both me and my husband have tried on different days to get tested here without success. Apparently they cut off testing at 4 p.m. and have a limit of 25 tests per day or something like that. I dont completely understand the limitations because I have never been able to speak with anyone at the facility (when you call it goes to a full vm inbox). All my information was conveyed to me by a patient waiting in a long line outside. Just be warned before driving to this location that it isnt as easy as the website promotes. My suggestion would be that they update their website with relevant information. Easy change to improve customer experience.
Came in a couple weeks ago with a broken foot. Patients getting tested for Covid had to sit outside, which was nice for myself as I had to wait in the waiting room for over 4 hours to be seen, and an additional hour to get x-rays. I was very understanding due to Covid. Totally get it. However, the older lady behind the desk was not wearing a mask at first when I came in, but later put one on. The staff seemed overworked. After receiving a cast and crutches, I was not given any exercises or instruction for referrals (I thought I would have to reach out to the clinic they sent my info to as I’ve never had a referral). Some of the staff seemed very positive and helpful. Turns out my referral hasn’t called me even though Urgent Care faxed my info two weeks ago. Hence my confusion on the referral process.I tried calling in around 8 times to follow up and it went to voicemail. I finally left my name and number and did not receive a call within 3 days, so I physically went in.Potential Covid patients, it seems, are now allowed to wait in the waiting room. And no, there is not enough room to sit 6 feet away from others (not their fault). The lady behind the desk, once again, was not wearing a mask. Even though the sign on the door says “masks required”. Which I find interesting. I asked if they could send me my x-rays (as I have a degree specializing in human osteology) and she said they don’t do that. Mmk, fine. I let it go. Anyway, sitting in the parking lot writing this, a lot of the issues are most likely due to Covid testing, but felt it was necessary to point out that this one lady at the front desk doesn’t seem to follow mask protocol. However, I will say that all other staff seemed to adhere to appropriate PPE. Also, pretty sure as a patient, As I paid for my x-rays, I have rights to them. And it’s possible she meant they couldn’t be emailed, which is fine, but she also didn’t explain how I can get access to them. I’m hoping to put in a formal request for my records.Good luck!EDIT: I called Deborah, left a message and she called me back. She was very pleasant and assured me that the mask issue has been addressed and that I will receive my records soon. She seemed to really understand the health and safety issue and felt strongly about addressing it. For this, I am adding a star to my review.
IF YOU ARE TRAVELING, DO NOT GO HERE FOR COVID TESTING!!!!If I could give a lower rating, I would. Started off with not having my appointment on their calendar when I had an email confirmation of it. I need screening for Hawaii travel (Hawaii only accept a NAAT test from preferred partners) I ended up waiting 2.5 hours. Then, as I was not sick, I was willing to pay cash for my test. But, I was told that I had to have 3 other tests and an exam from their Doctor, who was not a Doctor but a nurse. When I asked why, I was told not to worry, its free as my insurance covered it. This is called insurance fraud and absolutely not free!!! The MA who performed my test wore the same gloves in and out of my room and then pretended to use hand sanitizer on top of them before performing my test. Additionally, they are not separating sick patients from those who seek travel screening and their volumes are so high and they dont label their specimens, it is not surprising that their tests are contaminated and that they actually loose samples! The biggest most frustrating waste of time and resources, not to mention we didnt test results back in time to go on our vacation!!
Just needed a covid test for pre-surgery. They we able to a Rapid in less than 30 minutes and also a lab test in 2 days. Great place, very happy!
I went in on Sunday to get tested for covid, my nurse had a mask that was so loose that it fell off of her face 4 or 5 times while she was talking to me. She was chewing gum. Her hair was pulled back, but it was so long that when she bent over to search for the covid swabs it was inches away from touching the tip of the unwrapped strep swab test she was holding. If I didnt have covid then, I wouldnt be surprised if she infected me or if the test comes back positive from exposure to her.Everything else went great! Service was fast, everyone was polite. But the most important thing is that the environment is sterile, which it did not seem to be.
This is the worst urgent care our families been to. Please get real Dr.s to help patients not just nurse practitioners. My husband has been waiting for his inhaler all morning. And the person on the phone Wendy at the facility was no help at all. She had me wait for ten minutes on hold and she after said thank you and hung up. Please get real people who cares and know what there doing. This is so upsetting I will never have my family go there again.
Everyone was friendly positive and helpful especially Diana in charge of intake her attitude was so good and so patient considering the crazy circumstances we did have to wait over 4 hours but was able to get rapid results as well as tested for prc, flu, strep and for covid antibodies so that was great!
They have mediocre service. They seem to be very disorganized. I see people going back that arrived after others had arrived. The gal who did my covid swab left the room after taking my blood pressure, came back with an opened Qtip, swabbed me, and left the room with the Qtip in her hand, with no proper sealer or containment. She did not open in front of me. They have failed to call with test results. To include my one positive covid test. They do not return calls or answer the phone. Both times Ive been there, I left very frustrated. Not very good at communicating. I will not be going back Nor do I reccomend them.
Was there 2/8/2020. Im 65 years old and never had a better experience visiting a doctor! Though a PA (Physician Assistant), she was thorough, thoughtful, able to ask related questions about my past health history, listen, examine my body thoroughly and, after receiving my approval, went thru the trouble of scheduling a CT Scan for me with St. Lukes on the same day. And received the results and called me with it within hours! And if thats not good enough, she called 4 days later just to make sure all is well with me! Now, how many times has your physician called you several days later to see how youre doing? Did I mention that she also prescribed antibiotics for my cold related lung infection without me having to beg for it? Ive already told my friends and colleagues about her. Please dont let her go!
I’ve gone here a couple of times and I recommend everyone I know to AFC. This is my go to urgent care. The staff is friendly and efficient! They go out of their way to help everyone with or without insurance. The online portal for receiving results is great so you don’t have to worry about missing a phone call. If you’re looking for an urgent care in the Boise area this is your place!!!
I will say that the wait time to get covid testes surpassed 6 hours. But the moment we were finally back in the exam room, McKenna walked us through everything and bent over backwards to make sure that we were all taken care of....all with a smile on her face!
DO NOT GO FOR HERE COVID TESTING!! Dont let the nice message on their recording about how easy it is to get Covid testing fool you. The message states no appointment needed, but when I showed up in their parking lot they told me I could not register for a test at that time (11AM) because they were busy. I went back at 2PM as requested, waited in line for 45 min with other potential covid patients, and then was told it would be 2 hours until I could be tested. The receptionist even suggested I go run errands! Crazy, given I had symptoms. Anyway, around 4:30 I was finally swabbed for the rapid test and the regular lab test. I spent 30 minutes inside their clinic with other potential covid patients and with nurses wearing non-protective face coverings. It has been 21 hours since my test and no rapid results yet. After months of covid testing, I assume they would have their processes dialed in, but no. Save yourself some time and go somewhere professional.UPDATE 5:35PM. As the owner response states, the clinic did leave a voicemail at 2:21 PM today (the day after my rapid test). The voicemail did not contain my results, which may be due to HIPPA. They left vague instructions to a portal named HEALOW which I am unable to log into. I have called the clinic 8-10 times since and only get their voicemail. Answering the phones seems like a practical aspect of running a business.
Although the staff were very friendly I would not depend on AFC for a rapid COVID test. I was told false positive was highly unlikely. Within days of each other, three of five members of my family received false positive rapid test results, while all PCR results were negative at this location. We all had to initiate quarantine as a result of the positives. We missed work. Kids missed school. It was a big headache.
I needed so lab/testing done. They were busy, but still very efficient and accommodating. They explained everything as they did it and I never felt rushed. Thank you for the great service and comprehensive care.
Free COVID test and antibody test. Chantal took my nasal swabs and it was so much more comfortable than the last one I had done. Insider tip: show up a few minutes before they open to limit wait time.
Absolute worst mismanagement I have ever seen. They literally had people standing outside for 3 hours before they even started processing their information. Since when was a Covid test Black Friday shopping? Then, it was another hour before they even called you in for a test. I have called eight times in the last three days and never had my call answered. This place should be shutdown. If you’re looking for a COVID test, go to Saint Als—scheduled appointments and in/out within 30 minutes.
We made an appointment but still had a long wait time. It was for covid travel tests the week before spring break so it was a busy time. Once we got back Lissette was friendly and easy to work with.
The care here is amazing, usually. In fact, I go here specifically for Sana Kasumovic, PA-C. She is incredible. By far, the best PA in Boise. My only complaint is that they advertise rapid covid tests, results in under 15 minutes. Yet, after several hours, I still have yet to receive my results. Now they are saying it wont be until tomorrow. Not only has that put my entire life on hold, but the lives of everyone else around me. I need to know if I have exposed anyone, so they arent out exposing many other people. Thats the point of the rapid tests. Not to mention the anxiety. They need to stop advertising test results in under 15 mins. Had I known this, I would have gone elsewhere, because it is impairative that I get the results tonight.
Came to get a covid test at AFC Urgent Care in Garden City and the medical assistant Joce was super nice and did excellent work. The swap didn’t hurt at all. Fully recommended.
Showed up close to closing time on a Friday. I was seen almost immediately and the staff was super nice. Shoutout to Landon and Jennifer, they were very helpful and friendly!
My husband has been sitting in the hot parking lot with a high fever for over 5 hours waiting to get tested for COVID. I feel helpless as I am at work and cant go and get help for him!! They came out and took someone else in who arrived hours AFTER him!! How is a person supposed to get better when theyre told to wait in the heat that long?? this SUCKS!
LONG wait times. They’ll tell you 40 minutes and you’ll be waiting another 2-3 hours so just expect that. I’d suggest check in in person as soon as you can and then go about your day until they call you to come in. Customer service was great, nurse was great, doctor was great. Just prepare to wait hours for your appointment.
If you’re not here for covid testing, beware. The “drive up covid testing” looks like this: you arrive and call the number. They tell you to walk into the facility and get in line with all the other guests at the check in area. They have you fill out paperwork in the waiting area near all the other guests. You give back the paperwork and wait in your car. They come to your car and have you follow them to the waiting room (around all the other guests). Then take you back to a room to be tested. We’ve been here for an hour and a half at this point and been near MANY other people in the lobby and waiting room. If we don’t have covid now we’ve been exposed along with everyone else
Everyone was very friendly and polite. Lissette and Crystal did a great job with our kids keeping them happy while taking tests. Would definitely come again.
I needed a covid test for my daughter. Process was straightforward. Our technician Andrew was efficient, friendly, and made the experience as comfortable as possible.
Dont go to AFC for testing just because it is the quick Covid test . You end up there for 3-4 hours. To find out they want to give you additional tests that you dont need. May be free to you but not your insurance company. Not only that you are exposed to everyone who may have Covid because you have to stand in long lines, wait in a waiting room, and then in an exam room. They dont answer the phones and the say they are open to 8, But you find out after standing in line that only 20 people can come so then you try their next time which is 12, But they dont tell you this information on the recording about Covid. I ended up leaving with no covid-19 test because I wouldnt take the other tests that they try to force on you.
AFC in Garden City has great staff, they are quick and efficient! Nole, the provider was great with my two year old, he had to have a procedure done and she made it quick and as painless as possible.
The whole staff at AFC urgent care were polite and caring. The wait was short and the care was fantastic. Jamie is exceptional
Needed a COVID test to return back home to New York. The staff did an amazing job and the clinic was very clean and efficient. Wish every urgent care was as great as this one!
As a requirement from my work, I went to get tested for COVID on Monday, July 6 around 3:00 in the afternoon. Went in and there was not a front desk person. I waited. The front desk person finally came out, and as there were more than 6 people in the waiting room, she told me to wait outside and would step outside and ask for the next 6 people. How did I know what number I was? Oh well, went to car and waited 2 hours, nothing. Several of us sat in our cars out front and eventually she stepped outside and yelled, Next 6 people can come in. I waited some more and finally went home.Next morning, got there at 7:45, place opens at 8:00, there were already people in waiting room. Same woman was running counter, I was told to have a seat and remember who I was behind. How do I know who I was behind when I just got there? Anyway I had a seat. Next person came in she told them the same thing, I said youre behind me. Finally it was my turn to go up and register, she couldnt get my insurance to run, I said thats OK Ill just pay for it. She said, No, we get reimbursed by the government.I think it was around 9-9:30 that I finally went back to a room. The woman who took care of me was nice, she checked my blood pressure, checked my temperature, took some blood (I asked for antibody testing) and then the nose swab.Anyway, I left, went home and registered on the lab Corp website as was suggested by the doctor after he came and checked me over. Got results of a negative flu and a negative strep. On the 9th I got a negative test on the antibodies. The 10th, Friday, looked online and results saw test on website for COVID, result was Detected. What the heck does Detected mean? How about a positive or a negative response? So I called them to clarify, and left a message.Today, Saturday the 11th, I got a message on my phone from AFC Urgent Care requesting I give them a call, it was urgent, they had my results. I called the number they left me, and it was answered by an answering machine. It went on and on and on, finally I got to press one to speak to somebody but no, I got another answering machine. Left a message, still have not heard from anyone and it is now 7:30, they close at 5:00.My suggestions are: they need more help. If AFC Urgent Care is getting funding from the government, as I believe they are, they should be able to afford better organization. Maybe put a number on each registration, so people know where they stand., (I put my number on it, so i could remember). One more thought, how about a separate phone number for those that are to call back because it is urgent.
Shantel was amazing. She was caring and did a fantastic job with my son and I. I appreciate her experience and quickness. I am an online teacher and she was quick to get the tests done so I could get back to class
Abby was the medical assistant that saw me and she was absolutely wonderful!! She was so professional and sweet. I would definitely go back to AFC Urgent Care.
Told my friend she most likely had a sinus infection. She tested COVID-19 positive 3 days later. Now Ive been exposed to a symptomatic COVID-19 positive person & Im immunocompromised. Just swell, yeah these people really look out for folks...
Needed a COVID-19 test to return to work. Staff was very helpful and friendly! Thank you to Allie who did my swab. I was very nervous and she made me feel comfortable and answered all of my questions!
The test was fast. Staff is friendly and helps! Britney took my test. I was super comfortable and the Dr. Murray Sturkie and Kelly are great!
Got tested here then the same day got tested with st alphonsus. My results from there were immediate and test came back positive. My tests from AFC Urgent Care said I was negative on the Corona virus. They do not test properly be careful
Everyone’s been really nice.. the Medical Assistant Ali was awesome and super nice
Smooth process and super friendly staff. Britni M was awesome. Her covid testing skills are expert level and, trust me, I’ve had a few tests. Great place! Thanks Britni!
We came in for Covid testing. They were very busy but did a great job keeping order and getting us in. Antonya was very professional and made the testing quick and easy.
They are respectful, clean, and awesome work,Specially Katie HillmanShe did take of my COVID RT-PCR for International traveling pretty fast,Got the result same day for my
Staff was very friendly and accommodating when I had to visit they even gave me some fruit snacks which was an added plus. Will come back again if needed. They were very quick in getting me in as well.
The two ladies working were not able to figure out how to bill my insurance (Cigna) and I ended up paying out of pocket. They proceeded to give me a receipt for my out of pocket payment with no code description or charges details for me to file a claim myself. After 2 calls to them during regular business hours nobody has picked up the phone.
Staff was friendly, helpful, and professional. It is a walk-in facility so the wait was a little long, but they prepared me for that so I wasnt surprised. Thank you for your service and kindness!
Great experience! It was very fast and easy. The check in lady was awesome and a big thank you to a woman named Mareesa! Everything I needed and any questions I had were answered quickly. Very pleasant experience.
I understand they are having a long list of people coming in and getting tested but I’m really confused on why no one answers the phone. I have called several times in the past 3 days and left multiple messages and I only got a call back once but not with my complete test results. They told me they would be posted by tomorrow but there is nothing on the patient portal. I wish someone would just answer the phone because I do not want to have to go back to the urgent care and risk exposure.
What a Mickey Mouse facility… You’re better off getting treated by the street person under the bridge in Boise… I go in with a Workmen’s Comp. claim and no one can figure out who I am or what I’m about the waiting room is about the size of a kitchen, Jammed packed with people looking to do who knows what… I tell her here’s my phone number I want to wait outside...she tells me I can’t wait outside and she’s not gonna take my phone number... The effing room is packed with people in the middle of a pandemic and I can’t wait outside… That street person‘s name is Jimmy. he’s got a first aid kit. use him
I could overhear three women at the back desk talking about covid test results for patients. I actually remember one of patients names but unlike the pros here I wont share it publicly. Massive HIPAA violation. A manager called me back and tried to blame it on the PA there, but her story was off because the info they broadcasted was on the phone not person to person as she claimed. Theyre probably making some decent revenue from the covid crisis, but they really need to abide by HIPAA. I walked out without a test, (hopefully St. Lukes can take me today) and really regret sharing any of my medical information with them. Not professional.
This clinic is great for covid, strep, and flu testing, but that is about it. I came in with stomach pain and was told “we don’t do that here.” The doctor didn’t do a blood test, urine test, X-ray or anything else to even attempt to diagnose me, just told me to go to the hospital, so much for “urgent care.”
Denied of a Covid test because I’m 17 even though I have a job and my work wanted me to get one, sorry but some people don’t have parents who live In the same state and can come there to assist me, any other place would have just called my guardian but this place didn’t I waiting out in the rain for a hour just to get told no. Pretty upsetting honestly I could be walking around with Covid and spreading it to everyone now. Thanks for no service!
Today I had to retake my Covid-19 test since the last test for whatever reason was not able to be used. I was so impressed with Shawntel. What an amazing nurse, Thank you Shawntel For making coming back a joyful experience.
Diane who administered our covid test was a peach and the test itself was not nearly as bad as last year. I mean i wouldnt come do it on my spare time just for fun, but at least my nightmares will cease from this day forward.
I had the best covid examination experience in this clinic, and thanks to the human quality that Nurse Shawntel gave me. I really appreciate your kindness, empathy and sweetness. :) 10 stars service.
Every member of this staff was very helpful and compassionate. A great place to go when your regular doc is not available and you feel terrible.
Fast... Friendly and professional ...added bonus covid-19 test on site yay ....love you guys will be back!! The practitioner there..... she was able to get me in to see an ophthalmologist that Ive been waiting for 6 months to see shes got pull!
Very nice staff. I had Abby and she did awesome. I don’t do well with needles but she made my visit and blood draw a breeze.
Went in for simple diagnostic & antibiotic. Got flu, strep, and COVID-19 testing per their SOP (SOP>$250) before medical care. Had to accept to SOP to see physician.... though SOP didn’t provide results for >week. SOP for revenue stream only.Saw Dr for less than 15 minutes to have my diagnosis confirmed and get antibiotic prescription. Total bill, $640+.No one (Nurse, Dr., lab staff) changed gloves or washed hands in my sight line. If your symptoms can wait until your regular physician can see you... WAIT. This is a shop of $ hacks!
Needed to be tested fast, the wait time was long but it was worth it with Abby there to calm my nerves and help me through the swabbing. Definitely recommend asking for Abby when you go to AFC!
Good location, very clean, the people were nice and friendly and the practitioner was knowledgeable. No wait either!
The staff was friendly, helpful and professional. Diana was awesome!
Went to AFC for Covid test. Billed $745. Upon returning from travel to Mexico, and needing a second Covid test, the resort we stayed at charged guest $0. Crazy...right!?!
The staff here are running at full capacity and doing the absolute best. I know they are working so hard and I appreciate what they are all doing. Britini was my M.A and she was spectacular!
Marissa was a huge help. The wait was a little long, but I was able to leave and come back when it was my turn. I really appreciate all of their hard work.
Shawntell was awesome; took Covid swab & flu shot & I didn’t feel it. Her personality was appreciated.Shout out to her dedication & everyone in medical community
These ladies at this here doc in the box are awesome, definitely get you taken care of in a timely manner and I appreciate their patience with me (I’ve had to get tested three times for covid) each time I’ve only spent 30 minutes in the building, they are quick and efficient.
Have come here many times for Covid testing. All staff has been pleasant, helpful, and patient. Thanks, Diana, for helping us today!
Morgan was very pleasant, professional, & helpful. Considering I showed up at what seemed to be the busiest time, the clinic was really great & handled it very well.
Went for COVID testing, as my spouse had an exposure at his job and wasn’t allowed to return without a negative swab. They told him 2-5 days for results, and it’s been over a week now! No one will answer their telehealth or main numbers if you try to call. What kind of business won’t answer their phone for days on end??
Antonya was so kind and had a few laughs with me during my Testing! Very comfortable visit during family crisis.Thank You Antonya, God bless you!Harrison
At our COVID-19 testing we had Charles and he was amazing. He was kind and fun to be with! Thank you Charles for helping us!
Billed my insurance $870 for a Hawaii travel COVID test. Then forced my mother (who was not traveling) to also take and pay for the same test because she is the one who accompanied my daughter to their facility to get tested. Took 10 minutes. This is extortion. Wonder why many are struggling to get by while Dr.s have multiple homes and country club memberships. I guess you can when your rate is $1600 for 10 minutes.
Be prepared for predatory billing. Went in at 10 am ON A THURSDAY they charged an off hour code. Over $300 for 5 minute appointment. I wish the government would do something about our medical industry ripping people off.
This was my first time at AFC Urgent Care, the service I received there 1st by the receptionist was so welcoming even though thus Facility has been so busy and overwhelmed with Covid-19 testing they still had a smile and very helpful, once in my room I was Assisted by Ma: Morgan who was so kind and friendly, Thank you for all that you do God Bless
Shauntell (sp.?) was an amazing nurse. Working through this pandemic.. she was fast and professional. She deserves all the stars! She was kind, thorough, and patient. A hero among heroes. Thank you Shauntell and the AFC staff.
Abbey has set a record. This was the only time I did not feel the needle on a blood draw. I have had many in my 63 years. Amazing 🤩
I had seen the provider Noel and she was so nice and understanding. My visit had gone by super quick! I will definitely be returning!
Speedy and friendly service by all staff! Our bride Diana was lovely and took extra care with our kiddos.
Definetly a long wait...But the staff was amazing. My nurse Shantel performed my testing gently and she was very kind. Thank you AFC.
Staff working at the front desk were organized and very kind! Both chantelle and the provider were great as well. I had a positive experience despite it being busy.
Very pleased with the entire experience. No waiting, professional and friendly staff - I was in and out very quickly. Very good experience.
Abi was so friendly and did an incredible job. Very informative, quick, and made me feel comfortable. Highly recommend this place because they are so friendly and make it easy to go to the doctor
The staff and doctor were friendly, professional and courteous. The office was clean and there was no wait.
Everyone was kind & friendly! Medical issue well taken care of. Very calm for a doctor’s office!
My wife and I went to Hawaii 2 months ago. Hawaii requires a covid tests 3 days prior to flying into Hawaii from a list of places they approve. The options were Costco, Walgreens, and AFC urgent care. AFC was kind enough to schedule us in advance so we would have a guaranteed time slot. They also were the most likely of the three to get us our results in time for the trip. We went to our appointment 3 days prior to our trip and got tested. During our visit they said it was required to also test for influenza and strep. Now, remember, I had no symptoms or exposure and was only getting the covid test for travel. I asked to decline the strep and influenza test, but I was told that was not possible. We either had to accept the two extra tests or go somewhere else. I should have done that, but Costco was no longer an option because of time restraints and we had heard that Walgreens may not get back in time either, so it didnt really feel like I had a choice. I am now stuck with a $85.18 bill for the visit (my wife also had the same amount due for her). Now I know that not all of that is for the influenza and strep test, but the bill has $175 for influenza test and $64 for the rapid strep test. The front staff was great, but the nurse was curt and gave a bogus excuse after bogus excuse when I asked why we had to do the flu and strep test. The policy of the urgent care should be changed. There should be allowance for refusal of those tests when all I need is a covid test for travel. I will pay my bill, but want others who might be flying to Hawaii know what theyre getting into. Our friends who went through Walgreens were only tested for covid, so I would suggest going through them to avoid the unnecessary tests.
This is unacceptable, on so many levels. To make people stand in line for long durantion in close quarters with other people who are potentially ill makes no common sense. If you were not sick when you got there, you will probably be sick when you leave.
Had a great visit at AFC. Lissette was wonderful and made the experience of getting my nose swabbed humorous. Highly recommend.
Brittany helped my wife and I with a Covid test and she was awesome....super smooth and very gentle she definitely knows what shes doing.
First off let me start by saying. DO NOT GO HERE this was sunday 12/ 6/20 ! I was recommended by a family friend at work. Said they were great to his wife. I went for JAW PAIN. And yes covid is going on. So I was hesitant. after a few days the pain was to much to deal with and so I went. to start.. I CALLED A TON , nobody answered NOT ONCE. Regardless I went. I showed up there was a long line down the side of the building. Understandable everyone was waiting outside. (30degrees) They came out and told us there would be a wait and handed us forms. I told them I wasnt here for a covid test but to check my jaw they said ok come right in. The waiting room was empty. They took my insurance did the paperwork and brought me back. NOBODYat THE FRONT WAS RUDE. Neither was my nurse or medical assistant. However they informed me that I am to be test for COVID, STREP AND FLU regardless of my reason for the visit. They nurse WAS NICE HOWEVER SHE DID THE COVID TEST (NOT MY FIRST RODEO) SHE WAS ROUGH! AND IT SUPPOSED TO STAY IN FOR 10 SECONDS SHE PULLED IT OUT IMMEDIATELY. (My wife is a medical assistant) I know that was not correct making me question the validity of the test. After about 10 minutes the DR came in. DR. SANDRA KASUMOVIC. She came in threw the paper on the seat. And Rudely said.. your postive to which I replied huh she said your test... didnt expect that huh ?!? (Rudely) like I lied to get in faster.. I told her no.. I dont understand she asked my how I felt and symptoms I told her o had ZERO AND FEEL GREAT BUT MY WISDOM TOOTH IS CAUSING JAW PAIN. She said yeah well covid! She proceeded to quietly stare at me acting disgusted. I told her well my jaw hurts what do I do she said I can look at it but its covid.... she check my jaw and said youll probably get a rash or SHINGLES.... Im 28 I have never had chicken pox. But how do u say jaw pain is covid or shingles.... SHE CONTINUED WITH AND ATTITUDE.. AND JUST SAID TAKE SOME IBUPROFEN... STAY HOME FOR 10 DAYS OF QUARANTINE AND CONTACT WHO EVER YOU HAD CONTACT WITH IN LAST 48 HRS SHE IPENED THE DOOR AND STOOF THERE SILENTLY WAITING FOR ME TO LEAVE. MOST UNCOMFORTABLE SCARY AWKWARD RUDE SITUATION IN MY LIFE. Now I understand having a wife in the medical field she maybe burned out and tired. However doesnt excuse the several rude comments and an irrational diagnosis. I walked out in disbelief. I just got my results... NEGATIVE.. they say u cant get a positive and then a negative... WELL IF U DONT DO UR JOB RIGHT FOLLOW PROTOCOL U CAN. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE IF I COULD NOT GIVE ANY STARS I WOULD.
Me: What exactly can you do at this facility?Receptionist: “I don’t exactly know, I will have to google it.”This should tell you everything you need to know about this facility.Saint Alphonsus was where I should have gone first, and I will never make that mistake again.
The personnel are outstanding and the doctors and staff spent the time to answer all my questions. Marissa was amazing and very informed about the issues concerning my future travel to alaska.
Thank you for being here for the community! Everyone was so nice and compassionate. Katie was my nurse and she was so kind and gentle, thank you! 😊😊
Jocelyn (MA) was simply amazing. She was kind, joyful and professional. I felt comfortable and safe.
Staff was patient and very helpful. Also appreciated the follow up call next day to check on me and see if I had questions.
The staff is friendly, professional, and quick as they can be once they are able to help you. Diana especially made us feel very welcomed!
Shari at the front was very helpful, knowledgeable and professional. The staff did a great job and were caring and friendly (Ashley and Roxanne)
Very helpful, polite and great with my kids. Prompt service, clean facility and excellent staff. Diana F was great.
Diana was super gentle, and very kind. I was in the best care & get my results back very fast!
Brittany was so nice and quick in doing my covid test! The whole staff is kind, personable and friendly!
Diana .F and her front desk coworkers took great care of us as we completed our necessary testing for or trip to Hawaii. Thanks!
Antonya was our medical assistant for Covid testing and she was amazing! Great experience overall
Doctor was very rude and inconsiderate. Said he had to many patients and thats why he was being rude. Hardly listened to anything I said. Never go here. Seems like all they care about is money.
COVID test was easy and I got the COVID vaccine here too. thanks for the friendly professional visit by all
