AFC Urgent Care Short Pump

I came to do a drug test today for employment. I waited and waited for a receptionist. Finally, a person helped (not really) I told her i was there to do a drug test. Well you are going to need to come back tomorrow. We stop doing drug test at 6pm. Theres no sign on the door or the document from the employer. I drove 45 min for me not ro get a drug test and get a rude person. I asked for the main number and I was told that they were privetly own. Oh, and I was there at 7:13pm and waited almost 10 min to get no service! What a joke!!!

I had to take a drug test as part of my employment screening requirements and the man that conducted the test was very thorough and kind. He allowed me to choose a cup. I didnt understand why he couldnt just give me a cup, lol, and he explained to me some history behind that which I found interesting. The lady at the front desk was a bit sassy at first, but then became more gentle after a few minutes. I wish they had posted somewhere on their website that they dont do drug tests after 5PM because I was in at 7PM the day before. The lady at the front desk who explained that to me the day before at 7PM was very sweet, actually. Overall it was a pleasant experience. There wasnt much of a wait at all.

My daughter came down with a nasty cold and had been battling a fever for nearly three days. At her peak, I had gone to three other urgent cares who would not accept walk-ins and were booked out through the day, patient first had people standing in the waiting room - not even one available parking space in the parking lot. I had called AFC asking if they would be able to see us when the receptionist said they were booked throughout the day as well. I felt defeated and frustrated and she did everything to try and help me come up with solutions. She asked me a few follow up questions about my daughter and she ended up telling us to come in regardless of being completely booked and that they would squeeze her in but we may have to wait a while. That’s okay, I showed up. As soon as I came in, she confirmed it was me who she had spoken with over the phone, explained there had JUST been a cancellation and they got us in nearly immediately after arriving. Call it luck but between the receptionist and the nurse practitioner who saw her in the exam room, they had incredible bedside manner and were extremely caring, empathetic and compassionate. Would definitely recommend.

This was the most amazing experience I have ever had at any medical facility! I came in crying in severe pain unable to walk. They came out with a wheelchair to get me! Helped me check in and once back made sure I was more than comfortable. Provided a blanket and pillow for comfort! They were so professional and went out of their way to help me. Also the facility was super clean! I could rave for hours! Thank you to everyone there helping me in my most vulnerable moments!

This was, far and away, the worst experience at an urgent care Ive ever received. I went after the Patient First wait was going to be two hours (which they kindly informed me about). I was the only one in the waiting room upon arriving and, after I completed my paperwork, I asked how long the wait would be and I was told I was the only office visit there, so not long. After waiting about 30 minutes, I was asked to wait in my car because my problem is also considered a Delta variant symptom. Okay - no big deal. I asked again how long and the receptionist called to the back and they said ten minutes. Forty minutes later, I went back inside to ask again how long and, when the receptionist called to the back, she was told when we can get to her. I told her that I thought I was the only office visit and I should have been informed of this wait from the beginning. They got me into the back and I went to triage. Why I didnt run out of there when the nurse asked me, for baby deliveries? when she asked about prior surgeries and I mentioned my c- sections, I have no idea. I dont even know where to start with that. The PA was fairly quick in getting to me after I was in the room, albeit somewhat uninterested. She said my ear pain could be Covid related and, after telling her my daughter just tested negative and asking if she thought I should get a test, she shrugged and sighed. I opted for the test and was then escorted by the c- section nurse to a back door behind the building and she walked away. Now, its almost 48 hours later, and I should have my results by now. But I cant call anyone cause their phone lines arent open and they still have their after hours message on over an hour after they were supposed to open. I never write reviews for anything negative because its not usually worth my time. But this was just too horrible an experience. Maybe Im the odd one out because most of the other reviews are positive. However, I wont be giving them another chance to correct the multitude of mistakes.

If I could rate higher than a 5/5, I would!! I needed a doctors note to return to work, my kids were sick and I’d missed a few days straight. Per company policy, I required a clean bill of health in order to return. I was in & out in less than 30 minutes, they were quick, efficient, & excellent bedside manner! The MA student who triaged me, Shauntrea A. was absolutely amazing! Great personality, for starters, we had trouble with the BP machine acting up & had to repeat it 3x, but the fact that she kept me laughing about it the entire time totally negated the aggravation of the machine malfunctioning!Absolutely recommend to anyone who needs to be seen, for whatever reason, in a quick & friendly fashion!!

I would have give them a 0 the STAFF IS SO NASTY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!IF YOU DONT LIKE YOUR JOB GO HOME HOW IS IT THEY ARE A URGENT CARE AND HAVE NO MASK FOR PEOPLE EVEN PATIENT 1st has them at there door …. NEVER AGAIN WILL I COME HERE

Staff was very friendly was able to make a appointment for the same day .they greeted as soon as i walked through the door . Treated me with dignity and respect.will start coming here more often . Love that they have a variety of employees ranges from different ethnicities and races . DR HEATHER was very nice and informative. I felt comfortable with discussing things with her. The lady who took my blood was nice as well . Will tell all my friends about this place

Amy and staff were very professional and effectively answered all all of my questions. The wait time was less than 7 minutes (remarkable!), the facility was extremely clean and it had a pleasant smell. As a leader, I noticed they all worked well together and assisted each other.I would recommend the Short Pump location.

I had some issues a few months back which required an impromptu Dr visit. AFC was conveniently close so I decided to go there. I have only been to walk-in clinics once or twice before and I never know what to expect.The check-in process was quick. The office seemed to be nicely spaced out due to Covid requirements. Everything seemed to be clean and sanitized. It didnt take long to get called in to the nurses station. They were very nice and professional.It didnt take too long of a wait for the DR to see me. She was courteous and quick to the points without overlooking anything. I would recommend and visit them myself again.

The facility was super clean and the staff was incredible! We needed a COVID rapid test for travel and had gone a few other places before ending up here. Although it was 7:03pm when we got there and they dont conduct COVID tests after 7pm, the staff was overly accommodating and allowed us to stay and get our test. Heather and Jackie were very sweet, personable and overall great providers! We will recommend and go back!

AFC was great, I made an appointment online for a yearly physical and blood work since it’s so hard to get into my PCP. I made an appointment online and uploaded my insurance card and license, and they had plenty of open slots. I came in and everyone was super helpful and nice and the Ellen the NP I met was so nice and thoroughly listened to me and my concerns, and was able to send off my much needed prescriptions and blood work was easy and fast. Thank you guys!!

AFC Short Pump is one of the best facilities I have attended. It’s always extremely clean, the atmosphere is peaceful, and the staff is professional, organized, courteous, and I believe they care about the health & well being of their patients. KUDOS to the facility leader!! Great leadership!!

Walk-ins not actually welcomed as advertised. I waited almost 2 HOURS for a flu shot. I came up to her once after waiting, and she said Id be next. Three patients were seen after that. I came up a second time and she gave me an intake form only then, and said it was because I was a walk in. Wish they wouldve told me from the start to make an appointment as to not waste time. Make an appointment if you go.

Always fantastic care. The NPs Tracy and Ellen are phenomenal. They take their time and listen to all concerns and make sure everyone is in agreement with the plan of care. The front desk is easy to work with, quick, and efficient. I will always recommend this location.

I had a great experience at AFC Urgent care. All of the staff members were kind and efficient. Tracy Lumpkin, the PA, was incredible and went above and beyond to help me. I would strongly recommend coming here for any of your urgent care needs!

Very good experience. The doctor and assistants are all nice and listen with an open mind. I got my blood drawn and barely felt anything, which is a big plus for me since I am very anxious around needles!

Horrible experience, the lobby was empty, but the provider took forever. My son was brought in for not feeling well, but someone with a drug test was taken in first even though they came after. I don’t understand how the drug test is more important than someone being sick? Will never come here again and I certainly do not recommend it.

I do like the fact that this facility has primary care functions as well. I was charged for primary care visit copay $30 instead of urgent care copay $100. However they don’t seem open on Sundays and close 5pm on Saturday so I had to go elsewhere-urgent care on Saturday 6pm. Physician was very thorough and kind and knowledgeable too. Although I shouldn’t have took the blood test which was pricey than the normal practice. Would go back whenever I can’t get primary doctor visit quickly—-> 2022 update. I guess this is no longer the case, maybe last time was mistake and they charge urgent care copay now I guess.And even if you come early it doesn’t make u see doc or PA sooner since they’re not ready. Never worth it to come early in this practice..then why bother to state as 8am open? And when I called them at 8:30 am their phone system isn’t functioning yet and says “office closed- good night” still.Small details which matters.

I gave a 3 star for this urgent care in particular because the facility is very nice but with that being said, the communication skills are lacking from the front counter associates. I’m hesitant to say all of the associates are lacking good communication skills because I had a good experience with everyone once I was help by the nurses.For example, getting the 15 minute rapid COVID test went smooth but I was given the option to wait in my car to get my results and they would print me out a paper copy. I waited in my car for an hour and a half before I decided to call and ask for my results and the front counter lady told me I will receive a call shortly with the results and didn’t give me the vibe she was willing to understand that I was sitting in the car for a while waiting on the test results. About an hour later I called again and the front counter lady told me my results came back negative.Her tone of voice wasn’t very pleasant and her communication skills were lacking because she kept cutting me off while I was speaking, and I was very annoyed that I had to call and get my results after 2 and a half hours of sitting in my car when I was supposed to be called by them and how does a 15 minutes rapid COVID test take 2 and a half hours to get the results back?This facility is very nice and has great potential but they need to work on communication skills and customer service skills at the front counter.

I would love to give them 5 stars. The nurse and nurse practitioner were both very warm, knowledgeable and professional. However, the receptionist at the front desk, Rhonda, was unwelcoming, unprofessional, and frankly “ghetto”. She had a combative tone and harsh facial expression from the moment I walked in the front door. After letting her know that I was there for an appointment, she argued with me for about 5 minutes, telling me that I was clearly at the wrong location. I told her that I had just been called to come inside of this location. As I was explaining this to her, the nurse came out the door and called me to the back. She rolled her eyes— never acknowledged her error or apologized. She needs remedial training or she should probably find a different line of work.

Came in today (a Wednesday) around 12:20pm. No line. Short wait. The receptionist was very clear and quick with what I had to do. Even reminded me that I shouldnt use the bathroom since I was doing a urine sample. LOL. Almost forgot that part. We shared a laugh and I waited about 4-5 mins before being called. Joyner did my screening and was very kind and professional. Didnt sound robotic or anything(script reading). The bathroom was sparkling clean as well. Once done with my screening. Everything was ready to sign and out the door I went. I like a facility that is professional, quick and clean. I highly recommend this facility. Also, they have covid testing without an appointment which is very convenient too.

The nurses there were all great! Very friendly, informative, and prompt.However, the lady who was working at the front desk was SO incredibly rude. When I arrived for my covid test and called the front, she gave no information other than the nurse would be out and then hung up. 30 minutes later, I had not seen a nurse or anyone go in or out so I called again just to check. She spoke to me in a very degrading tone and still refused to explain how the process worked. Later in the afternoon, I called to ask what my results were because I hadn’t heard anything yet. Again, in a very degrading way, she told me it was negative and they don’t send negative results for the rapid test. The nurse practitioner I had seen had said the exact opposite. I had also received a flu test, which she said she couldn’t find and refused to look for it. I wish i could have just talked to the nurse again, but The woman was so hateful I was afraid to even ask that, even if she had given me the chance to before hanging up.

I called other urgent care companies, but they didnt even answer the phone. So I called and got an appointment (not for Covid testing) at AFC. I checked to see if the took Medicare and Blue Cross/Blue Shield, which they do. I read some of the reviews below and was a little nervous. But my experience was great. I got there 20 minutes early for my 4 oclock appointment on Friday and called the office. i was told I could come inside. right away. That might not happen to everyone depending on the day and time. Everybody was friendly and efficient. I filled out a form and waited about an hour to get my vital signs taken and answer some health questions. After that I was taken to a room and only had to wait only about 5 minutes to see the doctor.(Certainly a worlds record). The doctor checked me out, diagnosed the problem and sent me on my way with a prescription sent to my pharmacy.. He was vey friendly, too. I was pleased with my visit. I can recommend this place to you. But remember, you may wait longer than in pre-Covid days. Bring a book or do something on your smart phone. The time will go more quickly.

Went here in the thick of COVID. Staff was incredibly friendly and professional. We felt safe and were in and out in no time. We started with a telehealth appointment and had to do an in-office visit for x-rays. I would highly recommend this facility. Bummed this location is temporarily closed for staffing issues 😕

Best Urgent Care Ever! Staff were polite and quick to get me in and out. The doctor was very knowledgeable and treated me with kindness and professionalism. This is my new place to go when I have a need and I plan to use them as my primary care as well! 5 stars for sure!!

What an awesome experience. Called in and got an appointment for 30 minutes later, filled in forms online with auto fill, was seen immediately after filling out forms, super friendly staff, great advice and context around my issue, and they shot my script over to CVS across the street before I could get there in my car.Bravo!

We came to this urgent care location because of the excellent reviews. My fiancé had a large, swollen, and leaking cut on her forearm and needed antibiotics treatment. The staff humiliated and mocked her openly as I sat in the waiting room (which you can hear). Unacceptable behavior by “healthcare professionals”. I’d take my chances elsewhere if you are reading this looking for an urgent care.

If you are given the option to come here for a pre employment drug screening GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Place does not respect your time. I have been waiting nearly 30 minutes now even though I’m the only person in the building. I’ll be calling the background check company after this and asking them to remove this location as an option based on my experience.

I called to see if they had an available Dr for a walk in and was given an appointment. I arrived on time but had to wait almost an hour to see someone. I was told my problem was probably due to my medication and was told to stop taking it until my lab work came back. I was also given the name of a specialist to see. I tried the specialist office that I was given and found out that Doctor was retired and the practice needed an order from the Dr at AFC. I found my own specialist and made an appointment. I have called to get my lab results 4 times to see if I should take my medication again or not and each time am told the Dr. would call me back but they still have not. I finally requested they email me my lab results so I can take it to my primary care Dr. and they said they would but so far nothing. It is dangerous to take someone off their medication without following up to give the results of a lab test. DO NOT GO TO THIS PRACTICE.

I don’t even know where to behind with this place. Okay, so the nurse was very nice. And the dr was fine as well. However, neither of them did anything they promised. My partner and I both got covid tested. We both were positive. And I also tested positive for the flu. My partner needed a note supporting her time away from work and spent days calling. The front desk lady is awful and all calls are routed to her. She kept answering the phones, never saying anything and just hanging up. Or answer and put us on hold and never came back. I have now called back twice to try and get medicine for the flu and she says she will leave a note for the dr to call me back. And no one calls. I could almost deal with it okay if she was actually nice. I get that they are probably busy. But I am not joyfully coming to the doctor to hang out. Obviously there is a reason we are there and needing help. A dose of empathy would go a long way. I am going on being sick for two weeks now

Avoid this place if you can. I clearly have a sinus infection but little miss attitude (I’ll update with her name soon) decided i has covid and basically kicked me out said come back in two weeks. Ignore anything i said to her and gave me an attitude that cost me 40 bucks and an hour and a half drive. My response to her claiming i must have been in contact with a covid was that i work at home and i contact nobody. She was rude and had a one track mind. Could have cared less i tested negative. Left with absolutely nothing to help me out with. I am double faxed and already had covid, but the rude lady didn’t hardly even listen. I don’t think she was even qualified to be there. Took a third rapid test tonight, still negative. Still suffering from a sinus infection. I told her what i thought contributed to one of my symptoms AND SHE PRESCRIBED IT TO ME!! Horrible place, nice receptionists, horrible PA or whatever her generic title was. Avoid if you can unless it’s very simple.

I scheduled an appointment to have my little sister seen. I chose 6 pm because it was the only time we could take her. We get to the clinic 10 minutes early and the lady at the register sends me a link to fill out. While I was filling out the forms online, she informs me at 6:05 that they actually close at 6 pm. Why would she wait until 6:05 to inform me that the physician that is present doesn’t see children when I explicitly indicated on the appointment site that she is 8 years old. I even explained the purpose of the visit and no notice from the clinic was given to indicate that they couldn’t see her. We will never return due to the absolute waste of time and lack of consideration for our situation.

AFC is always helpful to me, whether on the phone or a visit. Dr. Russell Johnson has been my primary care Dr. for about 25 yrs. He is the best Dr. I have ever known. Jessica, your office manager & all the workers do an awesome job helping me. Love this practice in Midlothian.

Rhonda, the receptionist was extremely pleasant and courteous. The customer service person that came out and registered me was professional and courteous. The technician that conducted the test was competent, courteous and professional. The physician that contacted me was thorough and and answered my questions. This was my 3rd visit to AFC Short Pump and the care I received from Dr. Patricia and RN Amy was excellent. They listen to my own throughs about my care needs and responded appropriately. I get to many little injuries and this is my go to place!! Big Thanks and appreciation to all the folks who work there.

I visited on their first day open with my daughter. She previously had oral surgery to remove all of her wisdom teeth, and she was having swelling and irritation. Dr. Zelda was friendly and efficient as was the entire staff. Everyone seemed very knowledgeable and we were in and out timely. I’ll definitely go back and highly recommend their services!

A very good experience. The doctor, Dr. Moran, and staff were all very helpful and pleasant. They were especially good at making me comfortable, as I was in so much pain experiencing my first kidney stone. I would definitely return!!!

It is a very clean, professional & kind staff. They’ve made the appointment & checkin process seamless and easy.. a caring staff and up beat environment to be in during challenging times. but Provide more details on following up for patients that has been tested positive for COVID-19, what other things to look for further symptoms, when to get vaccinated and how to remain safe no matter age or health conditions but even more for ppl with underlining conditions.. like how long does the antibodies stay in your body when youve been asymptotic

Great clinic. They take their time and ensure to give you answers. I went in with a terrible migraine but they found a solution to help me. I will say that my primary care hasn’t been as helpful with these migraines. Don’t think twice about it they are awesome and they are better than any urgent care. Another great thing is they are following the Covid protocols and doing every to keep everyone safe.

I was there two days ago with my Dad. Clean, safe and friendly environment. Thank you to Dr. Russell and his team for the pleasant experience. :) We were tended ahead of our appointment.

DO NOT COME HERE. Extremely unprofessional. No care for patient. Will not even bother with contacting the pharmacy to make sure they have the right fax number. Very lazy.Heres what happened. Seeing as they offer PCP, I came here to be seen for my thyroid condition. After I found out that I was pregnant my OBGYN informed me that my thyroid condition could lead to complications with the pregnancy if my levels get out of normal range. Seeing as I was about to run out of medication I asked my provider at AFC to provide another refill to hold me over until I get tested. They would not comply--they were going to let me go without medication. I had to inform them that this could cause a miscarriage--then they finally complied. However, the pharmacy never got the prescription. I had to call repeatedly to get them to re-fax it but the pharmacy still did not receive it. Finally I had to BEG them to help me saying please, please help me I dont know what to do to fix this please just call them. They were very rude about it, essentially sighing at the inconvenience of having to call the pharmacy. Turns out they had the wrong number in their system. Ive had this condition for 15 years and have seen a slew of doctors all of whom were very careful with ensuring that I had medication, that I did not go without and that the pharmacy received the prescription. I have never had such a poor experience. In my opinion these are not medical professionals. If you care for your health do not come here.

My first time coming here. Online pre-registration made it faster and made the checking in process most convenient when arriving. Everyone was professional and my requests were fulfilled very swiftly. Social distancing seating was provided for the short waiting period!

The front desk staff were very kind and informative. The check I process was easy. The providers and nurses were very nice and gentle throughout my visit.

I went in with a tiny black ant literally pounding on my eardrum. They where reasonably quick even though the wait felt like eternity it wasnt in hindsight. They immediately where shocked and validated my feelings about freaking out. The pain and discomfort was unreal. I also am my fathers full time care taker with very little supplement care so they watched him as they took care of me too. Thank I cant remember the 3 people who helped but I was extremely thankful they got it out quickly.

I dont like this types of places, but went because the insurance wants you to do this rather than the ER (in most cases). I will NEVER return again and dont reccomend it. It was a long wait. The doctor was standoffish and rude with my examination (I felt uncomfortable) and going in circles about my results which I did not get on a Friday night. Told me to call back on Sunday which I did and still nothing for a simple blood test. The nurses were nice though and the receptionist. If you could wait for you PCP or go to the ER to see a REAL doctor.

Staff was very friendly and professional! They have everything set up very efficiently during times like these. I really felt comfortable and the line moved fast. Thank you guys for being on the front lines so I was able to do what I needed to do! Truly appreciate it! Shoutout to Dr. Johnson for being very thorough and helpful!

My husband went there yesterday for a non covid but extremely concerning situation that needed immediate attention. He was really scared, but instead of feeling like he was taken care of he felt like the front desk staff were cold, uncaring and wanted to get him out as quickly as possible. Shameful! Taking business elsewhere where we feel valued and appreciated.

My visit was overall outstanding compared to other urgent cares. Including the nurse and provider on call. The bedside manner was exactly what healthcare is supposed to be. Although certain mistakes were made, once management heard of the concerns, they made it right. I am comfortable referring loved ones here over Patient First

We have had two great experiences at AFC ShortPump. The staff is friendly and caring. Check in is easy and I love that we are seen by a physician who is willing to be more than the urgent care doctor, they want to have a relationship with you. My 15 year old son has been very comfortable there.

I’ve always had a great experience. Always on time and considerate. Thorough and attentive. I’ve used this AFC as my primary care for 3 years now and it’s been easy to get in and see a doctor whenever needed. Great team of drs and staff!

My mother was seen by Dr Johnson at the short pump afc office. He performed a very thorough exam, listened for our concerns and gave us referrals so that my mom can catch up on her medical screenings. Nice front staff and medical assistance as well. Thank you

I came to get a Covid test. These are definitely unprecedented times and they took all of the necessary precautions to ensure my safety as well as their own. I was informed of the process and how long it would take to get my results (they came faster than expected).

I moved to the area 3 years ago. Unfortunately, my PCP is now 40 minutes from my home. It has been a blessing to have the staff and medical professionals at AFC oversee my urgent care. They spend quality time and ask the appropriate questions. I have a complex medical history so I’m always leery of new providers. AFC has put me at ease.

Dr Russell Johnson was wonderful. He told me ahead of time what to expect as far as pain and burning. It made the experience so much more tolerable. He seemed like a perfectionist and wanted to place the steri strips just so. I really appreciated his attention to detail.

Loved being able to make an appointment for an x-ray. Joyner was wonderful and carefully explained the procedure. Would come back for any urgent care need!

Couldnt ask for a better experience! Dr. Johnson and all of the support staff were so kind and helpful throughout the visit. I was feeling horrible and it showed im sure. They had me in-and-out with a treatment plan in 30 Min. Thank you so much!

Got an email from AFC that they were offering the Covid vaccine. Called to schedule an appointment & got one for that very afternoon. Extremely quick and easy process. Very friendly staff. My new favorite Urgent Care!!!

I would have given this place 5 stars just on the basis of it being a very clean and calm environment. However, the administrative aspect leaves much to be desired. To start, I initially contacted the clinic via phone and spoke with someone who made the appt for me. I had to inform her multiple times that the appt was for my son and not for myself. I received the registration forms via text and I noticed that my name is listed as the pt and it is spelled incorrectly as well. When I arrived I called to inform them I was there. Of course they can not find my son in the system as they have my name incorrectly listed. I explained to the doctor the discrepancy and this is after I have already submitted insurance info, dob, etc. How do you not notice the inaccuracies? Sounds trivial, however I work in healthcare and accuracy in medical records is pertinent. The doc says he will change it. I have my son tested for strept. They state it will take 2-3 days for results. Which Ive never had a strept test take this long for results. By the time we will receive results he would have possibly spread it to others. But err okay hes the doctor. So I called after 3 days and you guessed it... his name is in the system as a completely different name. How were they submitting claims? Did you not refer to the registration documents? His name is 5 letters Im not sure how difficult that is. In addition there are no results. The rep cuts me off and says there is only one doc, one nurse and one front desk staff. Im sorry thats the case but that doesnt exclude this clinic from being HIPAA compliant. My sons health information and other PHI could have been sent to another person. Now here we are a completely new week and still no results. I eventually had to take my son to another clinic to be tested. In healthcare you must have listening skills and be able to pay attention to details.

I made an appointment to get vaccinated and got an appointment the same day! it was quick and easy. all of the nurses were extremely informative and kind. i’ll definitely be coming back with any other health issues! :)

I have received 4 Covid Tests at AFC Short Pump and my boyfriend has had a walloping 18 Covid Tests there. We have had nothing but positive experiences from both doctors and nurses. They are attentive, responsive and patient as we all navigate this new normal. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed this week with Covid and the Flu and Dr. Moran really helped me feel better about the whole situation. He assured me I was going to be fine and I could reach out at any time if I had questions. I am truly relieved to have been working with Dr. Moran during this scary time!! He is a retired doctor that has come back to work in light of COVID and we should all be thankful for these top tier heroes working to get us back to normal.

On a Visit: Highly DISAPPOINTED in the quality of service- which includes lacking Respect, Professionalism, Empathy & Knowledge, humility. Very Poor Listening Skills-I left messages for the NP including to call me regarding my lab results but never received a call from NP.A Different Visit: Excellent service by all staff including nurse practitioner Ms Suzanne Paul FNP & Med Assistants Toyo & Cassandra (in training). I highly recommend American Family Urgent Care in Glen Allen, VA2022- On Another visit, came in got bloodwork done very professional polite Med Assistant Shadae & Joyner (X Ray Tech. Ellen Scarlett, NP professional & good listener as well as a female Nurse Practitioner student.Thank you for the time you spent with meI called the next day Sat morning close to 9:00am several times & their recorded message said each time I called that the office is closed. However AFC urgent care website states Sat hours are from 8:00am-. I called again around 10:15am & the receptionist told me they have been having phone issues. Let’s see if these issues continue when I call again before 9:00am. When will this phone issue be fixed?I will comment that the receptionist was courteous to me during our phone conversation.

The woman working the front desk by herself did a superb job! She deserves a raise!!! The doctor was friendly and efficient. The nurse was VERY nice, very professional. Overall, a very good experience!!

I have had a Covid test and both of my vaccinations at AFC. They have been great. When I called for my Covid vaccine, I got in the same day. Everyone that works there is also very nice.

We are from out of town and my daughter had a health issue and needed immediate care. AFC was conveniently located and we were seen in a timely manner. Tyler, the nurse, was super attentive, friendly and she made my daughter feel supported and cared for.

Very patient with my 5 year old who came in for a bad cold. Got tested done in house and they were extra patient for her ear cleaning. Great job ladies!

The appointment making process is a breeze and, in my experience, the doctors are always very professional with great bedside manners. They’re now my go-to for same day care.

Such an amazing experience for urgent care! It was clean, everyone was so kind & courteous, and I was in and out in an hour including X-rays.

I showed up for my covid test at 4pm as scheduled by appointment. It is now past 5 pm and I still have not been seen. The front desk said We are swamped with COVID patients. Isnt it why they have a scheduling system? I would have scheduled my test elsewhere! They also stated it was drive up covid testing which it was not! They take you in to a room which hundreds of covid possible patients have been in! If you require a covid test, I would go elsewhere.

Doors locked during business hours with sign saying they don’t have any doctors to treat patients? please remove this false location, people in need of urgent care should not have to deal with these issues.

The doctor came in to greet me personally, which is rare these day, because I really didnt need to see him for lab work. The nurse was so very pleasant making me feel less anxious.

Came in with my husband for D.O.T physical & drug screening & from jump they were on safety precautions. Front desk (Lady) reminded us of our masks & sanitizer & the seats were far apart. I was a little disappointed I couldnt go to the back with him for support but I understood.

Dr. Moran has the bedside manners and personality of a 1930s chain gang guard! A discredit to his Hippocratic oath! As for his exam. A JOKE! Grading my entire visit a Shaman would have been a better option! I will definitely call my insurance company regarding this horrific experience.

Terrible at communicating Covid results. Took over 24 hours. And I had to call back then beg them to email them to me. Do not recommend. It’s called rapid because you get results rapid they were so slow.

Website states “open 7 days a week” but on Sundays they are closed…fix your website, it’s false advertising. My new employer (needed new hire testing) told me the facility was open on Sundays (which is why I chose this place) so, you have given false information to large facilities that use your service. Be more diligent with the information you provide...and proof read your published website.

I waited 2 hours because I was so weak and I couldn’t drive. My appointment was at 12:58 I go in only to be told to go back to my car. It is now 1:15 and I’ve yet to be seen. The lady at the front desk has no concern whatsoever. This is ridiculous!

I had fallen at work and was treated here. The doctor took a great interest in my care from my fall and my health as a whole. I was pleased with the service from the front desk to the doctor. All the staff was friendly!

I came into this office on March 15th between 5:45 and 6:00 pm complaining about a weird sensation in my chest and a slight pain in my arms that I had experienced over the last two weeks. I can remember trying my best to describe my symptoms to Mr. Jesse Kalhorn and what I have been experiencing over the last two weeks. Mr. Kalhorn listen to my describe symptoms and immediately started processing the information I had given him. Mr. Kalhorn requested an EKG along with an X-Ray. After the X-Ray and EKG came back inconclusive, Mr. Kalhorn informed me that I needed to have blood work done to help with diagnosis and the blood work I needed done he could not administer in his office. Mr. Kalhorn requested that I immediately have this blood work done in the Henrico Doctors Hospital ER. I immediately headed to the ER with the documentation Mr. Kalhorn had given me requesting to have blood enzymes levels to be checked. The ER team responding by checking my blood enzymes and it found to be at a higher level indicating my heart muscle was damage that was apparently caused by a heart attack. I ended up having a triple coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) on March 19th and making great recovery time. I wanted to share my experience about Mr. Kalhorn and his professionalism with attributed with saving my life.

Very very helpful! I had to take a PCR Covid-19 test. (They offer PCR -$190.00 or Rapids - $125.00 test). I scheduled the test two weeks in advance. Check in was very orderly and staff were very helpful!10/10 would test again

I went here for my immigration visa medical and the staff were amazing! Especially Tyler who was so patient with me, I am terrible with giving blood but she helped me so much and I am very grateful! Would definitely recommend going here. Thank you!

Run away. Patient First is worth the wait. My symptoms were laughed off here, simple tests were difficult for the techs to set up. 0/5 will never go back.

Since I have moved to Glen Allen I have visited this Practice several times. Dr. Johnson and staff are very accommodating and pleasant. Definitely 5 star in my book.

The people who answer the phone are always short, verging on rude. But once you finally get your appointment and arrive, most of the people are nice and you are usually seen fairly quickly.

The administrator is very nice the X-ray tech very kind the doctor a sweetie pie I was in a lot of pain I actually shared tears she said Im not going to hurt you warm hearted doctor the young lady that took me to the back and put me on the scale was very nice the receptionist can use some courtesy classes because shes the first one you see when you walk in the door in the first voice you hear she was not very supportive or kind happy 2021

This is usually the first place we think to come to for any issues because of the great and fast service. The doctors and nurses are really caring and we’re usually in and out in less than 30 minutes.

I was able to get in and out in just over an hour. The staff was all really kind and went out of their way to make my son feel better

These reviews simply show that your experience is what you make it I made mine a five-star and Doctor Johnson and staff are awesome make your experience good here because mine was, at least give them a try I liked it.

It took about 50 minutes to be seen but very nice once we got in. A little longer than I would have liked with an appointment time, but extremely nice once seen.

I came in to get the Moderna covid vaccine and the people are very nice. The nurse who gave me the shot knew a lot about the vaccine and was very informative.

They don’t take babies and no where on their website did it show this. It let me make an appointment for my sick baby and drive all the way up there to be told we don’t take babies. Update your site and make it clear!! There was another lady in the waiting room with a sick baby that also was told to leave and she had driven from New Kent :(
