Although APLA has excellent health services APLA housing services hasnt done absolutely nothing for the past year resulting in me losing my voucher extension last November and after filing a grievance which was not prioritized nor the proper grievance procedures the only outcome was to have my case switched to a different location because the housing worker is afraid cause she knows she didnt do anything now Im getting the same results denial of housing services I plan to take legal action for housing services they didnt provide and falsifying documents for service they didnt give.
They wrongfully fired an employee. Would give negative stars if I could. Bryan, Jesse, Madria and Craig responsible.
APLA is completely disfuncional. All the different departments and services offered are disconnected from each other. If you want dental services get ready to fill out dozens of papers , then the pantry the same papers, then medical the same papers . The Kingsley place has this security guard who is very unfriendly to the gay community , he is rude, he does not know how to talk to people e immediately sends you away without helping you at all. This security guard needs to learn some manners and he needs a training about LGBT it is ironic that he works in a place that offers services to LGBT but he is an ignorant working there. Avoid this guy and place , you can and call before going .
I don’t usually post negative reviews but what i experienced with this guy (David Williams - Benefit Specialist) is disgusting, He’s been rude ever since i met him, He will not even advocate for you, if you’re looking for a person that will help you, He’s not the person to go with, He’s a joke. I wonder why he even work there if he’s not even willing to help people.
Necessary service for the community. Staff is kind and helpful. Downside is getting someone to call back for appointment scheduling. It seems like a lot of resources are spent of Administration and then whatever is leftover trickles down to clients. Shame. Also, there have been times when NOLP has been closed to accommodate staff functions. Which is the priority ? Client or Administration ???
Always has been a good place for people with HIV go to when they need help they offer so many good resources food shelter clothing housing whatever a person needs to survive Medical Care Dental with HIV of course you could go home once you get to know the people there are very loving kind it could be your friend so in time your extended family
Javier in benifits is outstanding
This place should be shut down for what they are doing with donors money. If you are a donor just know your money doesnt help the people that come for help.
They offer many great services for people living with HIV/AIDS. The best food bank Ive seen, held Wednesdays and Fridays.
Very compassionate, understanding and knowledgeable staff. APLA, offers many helpful services to HIV Positive clients.
With the scope of HIV funding changing APLA counties do as much has they can for there clientsA organization that is made up of a small staff and a large amount of volunteers does as much as possible to help there clientsProviding many services to name a few , mental Healt , lineage to care , dental , housing supported services and free food and other necessities of lifeHats off to APLA , keep up the good job
2 years waitlist for therapy and nothing. Terrible for those who actually do need care, why offer the service if you’re unable to help people?
They been having my paperwork for moving Grant for almost 3 weeks and theyre telling me we far from the moving branch then had the nerve to ask me have you found a place already yeah I did I wanna move
Great guys at the front desk.On top of and always friendly, especially Jim and MarkThe rest of the staff, time will tell.
Some what helpful. Their vollenteer intake person Kenny leaves much to be desired
Outstanding Services and referrals for HIV Positive persons and their love ones.
They help people regardless of age, race, or socioeconomic issues .
I volunteer here and I really enjoy the people
It is not so much as to why I love this place as to why this place my family.
Dont expect anything to be done. Expect to be referred out.
Excellent Community Service
I recommend this place to the LGBT community
