Even tho doctor and inside stuff is nice, the receptionists are treating you awfully and almost impossible to talk to them. I got an appointment for 11.30 and I was here 10 min before my appointment. They took me in at 12, I only needed a birth control refill. The nurse said it will take around 30-45 min for me to get out of here. After an hour of waiting I asked the receptionist how long more do I need to wait and her face was soooo unhappy to answer. She said 30-40 minutes more. So waiting time is crazy even tho if you have an appointment.
I asked for check up and tests because I was at emergency and had pain the day before, and doctor referred me to this clinic, and they refused. And the reason is because last year I came 2 weeks later and there should be 1 year gap, no less. :) also an assistant didn’t know some medical terms that was pretty strange. Not gonna come again for sure.
This place is solid. They lost a star from past experiences(in the past two years) being called by my legal name even though the intake form asks for authentic name. The wait time is also outrageous unless you have a morning appointment. But in my most recent visit(this week) i was not deadnamed or misgendered. I think, unfortunately, it comes down to the worker that happens to pull your chart. Regardless, its still my go to in the area for free sti testing and contraception.
It was ok, but wouldn’t be my first choice unless I was in a pinch like today.Parking- I took an Uber, but there is a shared plaza lot on site.Physical amenities- clean, spacious, & easy to findSafety- It’s a run-down area. As a woman coming here alone, I didn’t feel very safe. There was a man loitering around the back area on the way to the stairs who made me uneasy.Providers- Gaby was kind and easy to talk to, but likes to reassure a lot. I guess she sees a lot of people who are anxious. I asked her for water twice and never got it. Was a bit annoyed about that. Nurse Practitioner Irina M. was friendly, helpful, patient, & clear. I would recommend her.Front desk- Janice H. at the front desk was helpful, but gruff. She was unwilling to give me the nurse practitioner’s last name when I asked, but did ask the lead for permission. I think she could have been warmer and friendlier in our interaction, but she got the job done.Overall, I prefer other locations for safety and friendliness. I went here since it was available when I needed it.Accessibility note: I took the stairs, but am not sure if there’s an elevator. If there is, it isn’t clearly visible.
Today was my first day at Planned Parenthood and I went in for STI testing. I was extremely nervous and I have really bad anxiety around getting tests done especially getting my blood drawn. Nurse Karen was seriously one of the best nurses I have had in my lifetime. She was so comforting and personable, she made me feel safe and seen!! I trusted her so much and she got my blood drawn on the first go which has never happened to me ever. If possible, go to her for your healthcare needs! You will not be let down. Thank you Karen for being the best caring and patient nurse around!!
Extremely helpful, informative, and thoughtful providers. My entire visit was covered, no fee to me. Only waited about 5 minutes, in and out quickly!! I dont have enough good things to say about this location.
Always has the best services for vaginal and reproductive health, I don’t trust anyone but them to examine or treat me
Dr Della was an incredible doctor I was able to see at planned parenthood. She had the knowledge to ease all my concerns. The whole crew and everyone who helped with intake was absolutely amazing. Jenn, Angie, and Janice, huge shoutout. Always make an appointment for this location, but it’s worth the wait.
When ever I can’t see my primary doctor at the last minute I come here always been coming here since I was 17 just in another state when I get rich i promise I’m donating a million dollars
I have been a customer for two years, every time they make me make an appointment and then I find myself waiting hours and hours to be seen, if you point it out to them they tell you that they cant do anything about it.this is a lack of respect for people who work and take hours wasting time. if a person doesnt make it to their appointment, move on to the next one and if I have an appointment with someone at two I cant tell them at 2.10 that they have 6 people ahead of them.otherwise remove the appointments and the first one who arrives gets in.Its exasperating to go to the doctor and have to wait when you have a scheduled appointment.really bad experienceits like this every time and they do nothing to change the system
Had a fantastic experience getting an exam here. Long wait times despite having an appointment but I’ve found that’s pretty standard in LA doctors offices. Everyone was super friendly and caring. Would definitely come back here.
The wait times can be a bit long but the staff is the kindest and I trust them so much.
I came here in 2010 after moving to LA and did not have any good experiences at this place. They forced me on birth control which caused the most horrible side effects and at one point my friends drove me to the ER because I kept collapsing, sweating and shaking non-stop all day. Kaiser refused to see me due to not having insurance through them. Gained weight rapidly during my time on birth control (took Levora and Lutera, not sure which was first) but despite being told one was high dose and one was low dose the side effects were the same and just as bad. They gaslit me saying none of the side effects were from the birth control and that my rapid weight gain was my fault. My friends and family will tell you that I am a very active person and eat a clean, whole foods, plant based diet and that I ate like a bird. I couldnt even afford to eat more than I already was because I was just barely getting by with the money I made at work. They convince you that condoms dont work and that you need to be on birth control or else you would get pregnant. They misdiagnosed me with chlamydia and put me on cipro which caused me to be so sick and in so much pain. I stopped it against their wishes and found out I didnt have chlamydia or any other STDs/STIs.I was forced to have a cervical punch biopsy in my mid 20s with no evidence of ever needing one. Ive never in my whole life ever had an STD or STI. It was beyond painful. After my blood clots they tried to force me to get the copper IUD and I refused. Stopped going there after this because of how poorly they treat you and how frequently they were misdiagnosing me with things. Ive always only done long term relationships and used condoms every time with my boyfriends. Never slept around, had one night stands or multiple partners at once. Not sure if other Planned Parenthood locations are this bad but I 100% recommend avoiding this location if you care about your health and mental health.
Make an appointment if you can! Parking lot onsite but i used street parking; some is free some is metered. Always keep quarters somewhere in your bag/car.Checking in at a planned parenthood is always A THING…some are blunt some are kind…i always found it so interesting that they seem to identify as women however they can come across a bit judgy in a moment where the client is already feeling so overwhelmed and emotional. Sigh…hope all encounters with front desk staff could be more understanding .But once you are with the provider, wonderful service…thorough, reviews options, takes their time, thoughtful, warm.Big kudos and appreciation for all staff at PP!
I had the absolute best experience at this PP location! I made my appointment for a Saturday and they called me a few days ahead of time to process my insurance info since they weren’t able to do it on the weekends. Tracy was my physician and she was such a sweet soul who talked me through all my birth control options and supported me through my implant removal. Fairly quick, easy, and I felt encouraged/ empowered to make educated decisions about my health in general.
Everyone’s right. Don’t waste your time. This Planned Parenthood does not try to make their services accessible to everyone. I had an appointment at 9 AM they told me at 9:40 that my insurance wasn’t accepted. I’ve never had this problem at a PP. They told me I would have to pay out-of-pocket and it would be between $200 and $500 for a routine test. The person at the front desk was nice but I didn’t feel like they were trying to be private or discreet, the whole waiting room heard why I was there and why I couldn’t be seen. I would not recommend this office.
I’ve been coming to this location for years since I became an adult. Every time a good experience but today felt better than others, they make u feel at home with so much support. The doctors I saw today were absolutely awesome. The wait is long but that’s to be expected ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you so much guys for the wonderful care and the kind attitudes have a great day
I had the worst experience with healthcare here. I went here for a sensitive procedure that Kaiser wont do. Their counseling is given by insensitive staff. Just because they are one of the only facilities who can provide procedures like abortion doesnt mean they do it well. Planned Parenthood seems to take advantage of that fact by having such unskilled workers and cheap locations.
If I could give a zero i would.I waited one hour on the clock, just to go in and them tell me my appointment was rescheduled when its was not.No one contacted me to let me know that. And I even confirmed my appointment two days ago. When I walked in and signed in to my appointment they didnt say anything.. rhey let me sit there for one hour and then let me know.Ive never experienced such a thing with a doctors office in my life.Definitely not recommending and not coming back to this location.
I usually dont write bad reviews but if I could give this place a 0/10 I would. First off, there are no signs to tell you where the Planned Parenthood is, You have to walk down a long dark sketchy alley to go up to the center. The front desk ladies were very sweet but I let them know from the jump that my insurance was out of state so my services probably wouldnt be covered. After them telling me my insurance wasnt covered I asked if there was a chance I could get a bill now and make a payment when I had the money. The front desk lady said that I could do a reimbursement and then went over the charges, I thought it was pretty clear that I wouldnt be able to pay out of pocket. I was then sent in a room with an MA named Jessica who was very sweet and then asked a series of personal questions, I then was taken to a bathroom that was very gross and told to leave my sample there. Once going to the waiting room I was then asked to pay $292 UPFRONT. From the same person who said I could do the reimbursement. She was asking her lead if there were any payment plans and her lead was very nasty and didnt say anything and just shook her head no. So not only did I waste my time getting there but now they had to toss my sample out. It was very degrading being that I was very concerned for my health and now Im being turned away because of my inability to pay! On Planned Parenthood its says Our fees are based on your household income. Well never turn you away from the care you need because of your inability to pay. That was a lie in my case. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME.
The staff here are so kind and helpful. There was a long wait but they let me know upfront in case that didn’t work for me. I’m surprised at all these negative reviews because everyone was nothing but friendly and caring.
This location is very busy, I was sent here for abortion services. (I hope your insurance is accepted here) After waiting an hour to be told they don’t accept my insurance I was then recommended to go to another location that was very far from my house. Turns out they didn’t accept my insurance either and I couldn’t afford an abortion because it costs $500+ and I didn’t have a source of income at the time . I think my time being wasted could’ve been entirely avoided if I had been able to verify my insurance over the phone when I had called.
I had a common infection and the staff were very nice about everything. I had an appointment for 12 but was helped at about 1. Totally fine though. I was told all the staff were very busy which is understandable seeing as how most of their services are free and the demand is so high. The services are free and they are doing ME a FAVOR so I was not going to complain. I saw one girl throwing a fit over the wait time. Well what do you expect? Its a free clinic. Want fast service? Then go to a professional doctor and pay. Even then there is some of a wait.Overall very happy. I saved so much money by not having to pay for a consultation and the medicine.
The worst location in Los Angeles. The employees have no idea what they are doing. Even if you have an appointment, they send you home because its after 5pm and they want to go home. Do not waste your time there. Would not recommend anyone to go there. West Hollywood location by far better. Planned Parenthood really needs to upgrade their personal at this location and offer better training.
The wait can be long even with an appointment but that seems to be the case with most Planned Parenthood. But the nurses and doctors are some of the most kind and patient medical professionals I have seen, and made me feel very heard and cared for.
There are so many factors in medical choices but the clinician made me feel heard and informed. I felt safe, comfortable, and confident to navigate my birth control options. Everyone from the check-in to check-out process was patient, kind, and thorough. Thank you for exceptional care, Hollywood Planned Parenthood!
This is my first and last time going to a planned parenthood. my IUD is dislodged currently and the strings are literally hanging out. i was “pre approved” on the phone for a free removal get there and they say they can’t validate my residence bc i haven’t gotten my new ID yet, okay cool. basically i get run around while i’m in pain abt how i haven’t been here long enough for them to help me for free. for somewhere that is so pro woman this is absolutely ridiculous.
This is my first time coming to this location and I can right when they opened at 7 am. Every single person I came into contact with was so kind and patient. I waited until about 7:20 until someone called me into the office. I was out of there by 7:40 including the waiting time after my exam. I’m sure it’s busier on others days and at later times but I had to give it 5 stars for my experience with the staff. Thank you!
The signs on the door during the pandemic were confusing, and misleading due to being extremely poorly written and contradicting one another. The website did nothing to clarify these signs as they were the mistake of someone in the office physically. The nurses will suggest you make tele-health appointments for things you will need to come in person for anyways like birth control administration. The tele-health appointment is a phone call where a nurse asks you all of the questions they normally ask you before you are seen by the doctor. So the nurses are essentially asking you not to waste their time by making them ask you questions in person, but to waste double of your own time being on the phone with them and STILL having to come in because you need physical medical attention. Make no mistake the tele-health will spare you NOTHING in the way of time and Id bet you still have to talk to a nurse anyways. Make an appointment for a set time and you will not be seen until at least one full hour after your appointment time. Walk-ins are so prioritized there is actually zero point in setting up an appointment. I can confidently saying this after having scheduled four appointments for a simple shot and waited over an hour for each one. Once I waited an hour for my shot to be told to strip for a gyno exam that I wasnt due for for another six months, because they cant keep track of their patients. They have like three different patient profiles for me on file and both the receptionist and the nurses mention it every time I come in and none of them ever fix it. You can literally see them ignoring appointment priority as they take in walk-ins who arrived after you to the back before your eyes. If you have a job set your appointment for the weekend or you will miss a ton of work, except right now of course because the office is open only for tele-health on Saturdays and it is always closed to observe the holy day that is Sunday.
Was told on the phone come at 4:30 cuz they close at 5:00 and when I came they turned me away knowing I need to get screening before I leave for 24 hour flight. I explained it’s urgent and I came at designated time as promised but still got neglected and turned away.
I had an appointment at 3 pm and didnt get out of there until 6:30 When I called to make and appointment, I asked if they have walk-ins and they told me no, that I HAD to make an appointment. While I was at the facility their were people that didnt have an appointment and came in after I did and were seen before me. Definitely unacceptable. The staff apologized towards the end because Im sure they saw my frustration. But whats the point of making an appointment if they wont see you until 3 hours later. Wont be returning.
When I listed symptoms to my dr, she kept saying “that’s normal” to everything that was definitely not normal for me. Even when I told her I had irregular cramping, she said “even I get random cramping”, as if her cramps have anything to do with me. We’re two totally different people, at least 20 yrs apart. It was clear she didn’t want to acknowledge what I was saying & I wish I could get a refund. I’ve been here like 5+ times & the staff are often rude/unprofessional.. Go to a different location.
Had a very pleasant experience here over a year ago. just needed a yearly and I dont have insurance. super nice nurses and doctors! women practitioners only which I was happy about. they also gave me a insurance card for their clinic that lasts a year.
Dont waste you time.. they did everything in their power to stop me from getting any form of birth control. I tried so many times to getting myself over and around getting both control. When I was about to have the procedure done, the nurse practitioner leaves and says we cant do the procedure because for your condition and Im like Ive never had to have clearance for that condition but for my heart condition yes but she didnt need clearance for my heart condition which is common but for my other condition its not.Everyone is right dont waste your time..
By far one the worst places i have been too, even if you have an appointment be ready to wait 2 hours.the lady that helped me said she was coming back from her 1 week vacation and you could notice how bad she wanted her shift to end i didnt even bother speaking.Unethical and unprofessional staff!wont be coming back.
I just had the worst experience at this planned parenthood. I recently had a reaction to an antibiotic I was prescribed by one of their practitioners. I called in and explained my situation to the receptionist before I booked an appointment who said they would be able to take me no problem and booked me in. When I arrived I was seen 40 minutes after my appointment was scheduled only to be turned away because they are apparently not responsible for any reaction you have to medication they prescribe since the reaction is not directly linked to sexual/reproductive health. I was given no alternatives, no work arounds, no help at all. The woman who spoke with me had absolutely no interest in helping me find a solution to the problem they had caused and didnt even seem to understand the physical issues I was having. I felt like I repeated myself 10 times and she just didnt understand me or want to understand me and I left empty handed with no medical help whatsoever. This is not the first time I have had this reaction to these antibiotics and I have never had an issue receiving help through other clinics who provide the same services as Planned Parenthood, so I dont understand why they are not responsible for the health issues they may cause in their patients.
The wait time was the only downfall. Besides for that everybody was very kind and patient with people. It was my first time at planned parenthood. I will definitely go back. I am so grateful for them and their services. They really do care.
A great experience getting the necessary healthcare I need! Friendly and knowledgeable staff, fast and straight forward care. Thankful that this resource was available when I needed it
Get your business done and leave. Dont take things personal with these women. They dont have a sense of compassion. Theyre getting paid to provide the service and thats it. They simply dont care about their job and they definitely dont care about what people are going through. It may not be part of their curriculum but in a place with such a sensitive topics and complicated situations, a little compassion can make a difference instead of being cold and rude about it. I felt so uncomfortable and unwanted when all I need is help.
I have absolutely never ever had better service at any planned parenthood EVER in 22 years! They were sensitive, discrete, friendly, smiling, helpful and informative... really amazing service for any business, let alone planned parenthood! THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE!!
Shame on some of you reviewers. Paying nothing or next to nothing for your visits and you expect the red carpet to be rolled out like your Brittney Spears. Yall better check yourselves or buy insurance and go somewhere else!!!Planned Parenthood Hollywood, you keep improving over the years and have probably close to saved my life, so thank you for all that you do. The service is great and the wait time has diminished but of course some days are busier than others. Thanks to everyone there that provides healthcare, even if they dont appreciate it. 💕
Had an appointment for 10:30 am. I expected a wait, thats fine. At 11:30am I asked if it was almost my turn. They said it would be another 30 minutes before I could even do my pre-procedure questions. (Was going in for implant)
Time wasters! Their website is very misleading about the insurance they accept and the workers there are really rude! And the cost of consultation without insurance was extremely high for a company that claims to be accessible for everyone.Additionally, the area is really unsafe, I had to go through a dark alley!
Not only is this location in a sketchy part of town where weird guys talk to you in the parking lot, but they also denied my visit when I got there when I literally called ahead to make sure they were doing walk ins. It was a waste of time and money getting there, and I showed up two hours before they supposedly were going to stop taking walk-ins.
Horrible, judgemental customer service that couldnt get the spelling of my last name right to save her life. Demanding my social security/personal info before I even see a dr or step foot in the center and getting impatient because I questioned her on it? A little too sketchy/scammy for me.For a clinic of this nature please handle the patients a little better or provide some sensitivity training to the people setting the appointments. Left a sour taste in my mouth for daring to call and TRY to make an appt.
You make an appointment for no reason when They make another appointment for a week later. They had my info in their system but still make me fill in a whole bunch of papers for nothing. When I need the medication right away. Also they told me to keep my 5 year old in the car that they couldn’t let him come in with me. Not family friendly at all.
Everyone here was super nice... Since I got here, with an appointment, I was treated well. The girl on front is super friendly. I got my implant replaced and I am absolutely satisfied with the service. Great staff.
The staff are very sweet the lady that saw me Mary was the best made me feel so comfortable and was the best. I’ve been to other places and I will be coming back and tell all my friends and family to come here
This place does say true things on their website.
I’m giving this place 5 stars because the service I received from the nurse practitioner was outstanding and I felt like she really cared and that’s what we need these days thank you Kristin please keep up the good work and I hope your outstanding work DOES NOT go unnoticed!!!!!
The doctors at this location are always the sweetest women I have ever met.
Staffs are friendly ; make sure your on time to your appointment, overall everything is clean and they are worth it
2nd time coming here and theyre very unprofessional they need to talk to staff about hippa again 🙄 I felt very uncomfortable 😕 very rude very serious I thought they needed to make you feel comfortable I will definitely call the city about what happend today 🥺
You wait 2 hours even with an appointment, they don’t provide plan b at the location you have to go to a pharmacy, they charge $40 for otc plan b
Worst place in my live. Been 4 times never helped. Was kicked out for the last time because of some protocol. Dont waste your time please. Find better specialists
This office has gotten worse in appointments. There is no point in scheduling one. Youll still have to wait 3 hours
Fast and easy. Great service thanks 🙏
Excellent patient care.
4 hour wait. Believe me there sweet staff great. Doctors. N clean only thing is the wait
I experienced the most horrendous medical visit here today. The staff was not helpful, and I left with nothing accomplished.
They didnt listen to my concerns. I was shocked. My first time at this location and definitely the last.
I had an 11 am appt and was told they were running 4 hr behind and wouldnt be seen til 3p
Been coming here for years! I love the friendly staff and they get me in and out. Thanks guys!
Theyre all very rude. No parking available.
The staff is always amazing i travel out of my way to come here.
Very welcoming environment, with a friendly and helpful staff as well.
Really bad, I wait more than 4 hours, its incredibly.
Great in all aspect. Great staff, service and all!
Clean, fast, great service, super nice doctors
