Overall, Ive had a great experience here. My primary care provider is Dr. Johnson and he always makes me feel at easy and like hes non-judgmental. I did have a visit with Dr. Emery (i think thats the name) while Dr. Johnson was out and lets just say, I felt a little ashamed. Dr. Moe is amazing. She truly makes me feel so welcomed and comfortable when Ive had my procedures. The staff is super nice and helpful. They also respond to my messages on My Chart in a prompt manner. There was a phlebotomy or nurse that would always draw my blood. She was super amazing at it. Last time I was in, Deanna drew my blood. She was super sweet, made me feel less nervous about my blood draws, was very personable, and just felt like family. Thank you to all staff that has provided wonderful care over the years.
I have been coming to UCLA Care for many years. My regular PCP is Dr Emery Chang who is an excellent doctor. Today, I had an emergecny condition and needed to see doctor. I ended being evaluated by Residency Dr. Marek Kowalski and Dr. George Yen. Both exhibited their extensive medical competency and knowledge. They were also very thorough when trying to determine my condition. Most importantly, I left feeling better. Thank you so very much!
Proactive care from a group that cares about me. When I was really sick in April 2021 Doctor Moe called me and told me to meet her at the UCLA ER in Santa Monica at 6 AM so I could get a lot of my required tests done early. She has been wonderful and I thank my friend John Perry for recommending her. God bless all!
I went in to get a prescription for a preventative medication that is common for my demographic. I was face to face with the doctor for less than 15 minutes - it was a few simple questions to make sure I was ok for this medication, then I did the tests with a nurse and got my prescription. Then the bill came and it was outrageous. They coded it as a level 4 consultation, which requires a comprehensive medical history, comprehensive exam and moderate decision making. It also has a time value of 60 minutes face to face with the patient. Nothing about my visit should have warranted a level 4, it should have been level 1. I tried contacting the office manager, billing department and the UCLA Health patient advocacy service - none were helpful despite me presenting a clear case for a bill reduction. I have since left the UCLA medical group altogether because despite adequate medical services, these billing practices are predatory and unjust.
Love this place. Great group of people working together to help my community.
