Very disappointing experience.. I came in looking for some jeans, and their selection was lackluster at best. Nothing was organized by size, and many things were half hanging on the hanger, making it very hard to look through their selection. After finding two pairs of jeans I asked to try them on, and was told they don’t have a fitting room, but that I could try them on in the middle of the store, which was a very strange thing to tell customers. I was clearly uncomfortable trying on jeans in the middle of the store, so I asked what the return policy was, and she told me that I could return my two items so long as they had the tags and were returned within 48 hours. Well after going home and trying on the jeans, I realized they weren’t for me, so I went back the next day to return. When I came back I was told that they never accept any returns. I explained that the employee the day before told me that I had 48 hours to return my items, however the employee refused to accept my return despite having all the tags on and the receipt and proof of transaction. If you’re going to tell customers about the return policy, then you really need to keep your word and honor that. Had I been told the truth that I could not return, I’d never have purchased anything from here. Honestly felt duped, and their employees were rude and not at all helpful or sorry.UPDATE: despite the company “reaching out” to escalate things, as you can see below, I’ve never heard anything back from them. I tried reaching out to them using their provided email, and they’ve just never responded. Sure seems like a scam to make it look like they care when customers have issues.
Heard a lot of great things about this place but maybe it was an off day. Product selection wasn’t so great for men…was a lot of fast fashion brands like Zara and H&M. Nothing organized by size and a lot of tags either cut off or difficult to find sizing. Biggest issue is that they have all that space and no dressing rooms. You don’t organize the clothes by sizing but you also don’t have a fitting room to check if things fit. Not a good combo and the advice to try clothes on on top of my own clothes doesn’t work with pants or when there’s no area in the store to even do that. Not a prude but not entirely sure everyone wants to see me in my underwear trying on pants. Will try again but didn’t live up to the hype.
Not sure if it just the location but the actually have nice stuff! A good selection of clothes for men and women, although I’m a little bummed that there isn’t a book/movie section. The Halloween costumes they make for the storefront are absolutely beautiful
I pop in to Out of the Closet at least once a week, and I have been delighted on many occasions by the product selection. The store is organized and merchandised well, the staff is very friendly, and 4/5 times I visit, I find something completely unexpected!
I was expecting a lot more from the photos, and there are some, but only a handful of circle racks and two wall racks for womens clothing. Nothing was organized by size, and there was very little variety in sizing. But the pricing of the items was good and I didnt notice any fast fashion items which is great. Also no dressing rooms? I didnt get anything, I just wish there was more size variety, options, and variation.
I love the fact that donations go to a good cause, so I always bring my stuff to OTC. They are always kind and friendly and willing to help. Shopping is easy, too. Its a second-hand shop, so hit-or-miss is to be expected, but the people are always nice. I highly recommend.
Awesome stuff great staff I found alot of great treasures to deco my $2k200 dollars apartment that I only pay $400 a month what blessing I love this store I love 🎨 art great place to find art and other great things thanks out of the closet oh and I feel safe real review Im gay or lgbt savagenoble 2 account on instagram hehe;)
Always a great experience thanks to the management, all the staff and friendly customers.Prices have popped up but theres still finds to be had. Most importantly its a community hub, not just a store.
Don’t donate here. I brought in a whole bag full of Xmas presents that were unopened and still had tags on them. The person accepting the donations complained ceaselessly about the items. “It’s too late to bring in Xmas items.” There was one Xmas-themed item. We don’t want linens.” I showed him the tags and packaging on a quilt I was donating (no other linens) and he reluctantly took them. He seemed really annoyed to be bothered with donations. I will not donate here again.
I used to buy many things here, greed has overcome this store, I will not be shopping at this location or any others associated with out of the closet. You lost a good customer over a shirt that should have been 12 dollars and did not have a tag, I will be sharing my opinion with my fellow peers / followers, up until today I loved your store. I’m highly disappointed with your customer service and greed.
Its also a wonderful experience to browse Out of the Closet, particularly the one located on Santa Monica Blvd, a couple blocks east of Crescent Heights. There youre sure to find an item of clothing, well-worn jeans..a gently worn t-shirt or jacket, a room full of hardbound + paperback books of all sorts...and the occasional lamp, end table or paper weight that you cant bear to pass up. Prices range from very reasonable, to a down right incredibly giveaway rate.If you are lucky you may find be a member of their sales staff whos even willing to bargain with you, especially if the item of your desire had been on the shelf 3-4 weeks or more (they keep track.) ********Definitely worth a visit. And a large part of their profits $$$ --minus salaries-- ofcourse--goes to HIV and community charities.
Been here numerous times. Its better then sunset but their Long beach is better. Still wasnt greeted or asked for help. I saw a great dress but not for $15. Got have almost that same dress else were for $6. I have gotten some great things from here. Dog friendly. Saw 3 dogs inside. Had 50% off all shoes and go figure a few pairs I actually liked were too small for me. Clean and organized.
I cant say enough about how amazing this store is. Their brand ideology is of ultimate giving. They turn nearly all of their proceeds back into the community they exist in.I have found so many great deals there and in turn have donated exclusively back to them.I cannot say how much i appreciate the work they do.
Love this place so much!!! I come multiple times a week and always find amazing stuff!!! The staff is super friendly and helpful 💕🥳👌🤩 tons of parking in back ! They accept donations most days I would definitely recommend to bring your items here ! Cant wait to visit again! Probably tomorrow!
Super kind people, reasonable prices, got nice Calvin Klein pants ⭐️
This place is so expensive I cannot afford to shop here. It’s not a thrift store. I wish they would lower their prices. It’s just unbelievable. Every time I go in there I just have to laugh because everything is so ridiculously overpriced. I would prefer to support them, but just can’t do it due to the prices.
Clothing, furniture, books, bric-a-brac and more....many sales special throughout the week. A veritable treasure-trove of items, changing moment to moment. There is good parking available accessible from the alley, behind the store. HIV and other STI testing may be available at this location...They will accept many of your donations, if you have extra stuff to share...
Friendly staff - THE BEST HIV TESTING PLACE IN TOWN.Come and check out the AHF Pharmacy / Out of The Closet- Great staff! Great HIV testing team. They offer the 1 Minute HIV Results. No Appointments needed and they test Mon-Saturday 10am-6:30pm
This place is way too trashy to be in WeHo. The staff was incredibly rude and need a lesson in business and customer service. I walked in 15-20 minutes before closing and no one said anything to me about a closing time, not even when I brought an arms full of dresses to the dressing room. It wasnt until they literally shouted, yes shouted, at me while I was in the dressing room that I had to leave in 2 minutes. I got dressed and quickly left. I will never be back to any out of the closet stores; I would suggest you dont waste your time and do the same. A first time guest should always be treated with respect. No one said a word at all to me until they wanted me out of the store, well mission accomplished you will never see me there again.
Pros: 10% senior discount and bonus points you can accrue with each purchase. Free parking in back. Friendly staff. Cons: selling fewer books and more bric a brac. Theres also one particular employee that has consustently refused books and other donations from me repeatedly even though my items are saleable! So Im donating to Goodwill and Council Thrift from now on, though I will continue to shop at the Weho store.
Arrived at 6:40PM, was told that we “had five minutes”, and that they closed at 6:45 (despite the signs and listing on Google)…. The staff was apathetic, lights were all off and they wanted nothing else than to get people out. They suggested that we “come back tomorrow”…. Who knows what the hours will be then though. I’d prefer to go somewhere that seems to want to actually do business and meet basic expectations that the business will be open when they say they will.
Id give it no stars if i could! They over price everying , they are worse then goodwill . I now choose to thrift at jewish council thrift shop on fairfax diagonal from cantors deli they know they get their items for free and price them according. WAKE UP OUT OF THE CLOSET! TIMES ARE TUFF AND YOURE GORGING PEOPLE!!!@@@%**$$*
They use to have a lot of good stuff but I got a tip from one of the workers that some of the employees are stealing all the good stuff and keeping it for them selfs. It sucks because the store looses money and you see less shoppers because all the good stuff is gone.
My favorite location for years and still! BUT Some staff need a major attitude adjustment. Sometime so rude and not friendly at all! This day radio advertising was screaming from the speakers with terrible noise! Was asking the manager Sonya to change channel but she’s just chilling on the register and laughing on me! So disappointing!(((
GREAT thrifting. Great selection, well organised, VERY reasonable prices, friendly service. Found some really excellent items and the fact that this store gives directly back to the LGTBQIA+ community sealed the deal for me. Will be back!
This place has gone downhill. Overpricing almost everything In the store now. They are trying to charge $120 for used shoes. I found the same pair of shoes brand new online for the same price. What a joke
Giovanni, the store manager is the BEST!I always find a treasure at this location.♥️
5 stars for what they do and five stars for just being them! Love Out of the Closet and love how it is a sign of belonging to so many. I donate to the one in Wilton Manors and shop at all the ones across the country including this one. Great job! #weho #hollywood #outofthecloset #thriftstore
I checked & Out of the Closet Thrift Store contributes 96% of every dollar to helping people living w/AIDS. Im bringing them a lot of #OneLifetoLive #Dorian wardrobe & some of my personal stuff BECAUSE it just makes good sense--doesnt it? besides I was a size 4 in those vintage days LOLSPEND BIG in a good cause!!! TY!
No public restrooms yet they encourage you to drive half a block to use a Mexican restaurant to use theirs..I truly felt so discriminated and unwelcome... bad vibes, never coming here or recommending anyone to come here...
This place is awesome! I bought a pair of jeans for only 15bucks! Really clean, nice service, and awesome prices.Totally recommend!
Easy parking in the back. Great for mens clothing, the womens selection is half the size, but they get good stuff. Love the housewares section too.
I got a great 1970s leather jacket at the old Pico Blvd. location thats garnered a lot of compliments. This is a wonderful thrift store.
Friendly staff and very well organized inventory. There is parking in the back. There are actually two stores, side by side, so make sure to visit both !
This is the best out of the closet in LA! The staff are very helpful...and the clothes are the best...me and my girl always have a good time coming to this shop!
I always find nice stuff here. People are friendly, place is clean.
Nice thrift store with a really great mens selection. Friendly staff, fun location. Check it out!
Love this place you will always find something every rime you stop in and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Stop by and Experience For yourself .
Jalen was amazing . Great place to get flower !
Fun staff. Fun customers but I didnt find the kind of things I shop for. More people need to donate to this shop.
Prices are higher here than other Out of the Closet stores. They have a good selection of clothing but prepare to pay a little more than if you found that piece of clothing at one of their other stores.
Awesome thrift store! Been an avid shopper for decades and I must say they always have what Im looking for.
Great second hand store for 🏠 house hold items and furniture. Id have no kitchen crockery or living room furniture if not for OUT OF THE CLOSET.
Friendly and welcoming staff. Interesting selection of articles and overall reasonable prices.
Very Small Location, some items seem to be a bit overpriced for a thrift store, but there are also some really nice finds and the staff is friendly.
This location has one of the best selections of clothes, and the furniture, books etc. Is right next door.
Staff need a major attitude adjustment. My wife and I just donated clothes and the staff member was incredibly rude, unreceptive and unhelpful. Take your donations somewhere else!
Smallest least stocked and overpriced Out of the Closet Ive seen. Clean, friendly, but disappointing...
Quality used furniture. Great prices. Awesome customer service.
Not a lot off mens selection but what they had was great retro furniture and art work.
Great selection of high quality, fashionable mens wear for practically nothing pricewise....
When I bought my dresser it didnt have a crack but when I came to pick it up the next day it had a crack
If you come here regularly, there are some treasures to be found. They have two stores side-by-side, dont forget to check out the furniture next door!
Sundays are the day to go. major scores for cheap. love this place.
Perfect place to gp if ypu even need to bum a cigarette late at night.
Discrimination towards medical reasons I cannot wear a mask. Shame on you.
Nothing sorted by size, dressing rooms closed. What a waste.
Always new great deals and awesome staff..love it
Come and check out the AHF Pharmacy / Out of The Closet- Great staff!
AMAZING selection and what an incredible cause. I couldnt recommend this more!!
Always an abundance of quality clothes at thrift store price

Great finds for the careful shopper.
Awesome crew and great stuff.
Always great stuff at this location.
Careless. I took a new suitcase full of donations and the broke the suitcase.
The prices are like the items were new.
Great stuff, I like it there.
Things aren’t sorted by size
I love everything about this store
Great always something to find.
This has become a greedy charity shop.
Bad service prices way to high
Sad, i had to get rid of a lot of clothes
The best thrift store in West Hollywood
Great place to shop!
Great place to bargain hunt
Its cheaper to shop at Barneys!
Tiny thrift store but it does the job
Good finds
Friendly service
Fabulously fabulous
Main street in West Hollywood. The parking lot is located at the back and is directly connected to the furniture, miscellaneous goods, and book corner. Its easy to get clothes from Santa Monica Brevard. Its neatly organized by item, easy to read, in good condition, and at a reasonable price. It might be a good idea to stop by when you want something flashy. Apparently its connected to the HIV Foundation.
Great place. Item in very good condition and really very inexpensive compared to other second-hand clothes. We bought music CDs 2 for $1, a Vans shirt for $5 and high waisted skinny jeans for $12 all tax free. The people who work there are friendly and professional.I highly recommend!
Excellent customer service thank you 🤗
Very expensive. To expensive
