I had a great experience at this Tia location! The clinic is beautiful and the staff are all extremely kind and helpful. They have seltzer waters and tea that any patients are welcome to help themselves to. The exam rooms are comfortable and clean.I specifically want to highlight my experience with Brandy, who drew my blood. She was super kind and did an excellent job making sure I was comfortable so the entire experience of getting my blood drawn and my flu shot was quick and painless. Most importantly (to me at least) there were lollipops after the shot which she personally provided! I find this really demonstrates how much the staff here care about making sure their patients have the best experience possible.I have another appointment scheduled for later in the week for my IUD removal and insertion which I have been very anxious about. I forgot to bring it up when I was meeting with my provider, but wanted to talk to someone beforehand to hear what the process would be like. Another NP was willing to take the time to tell me about what would happen even though she hadnt even been the doctor I saw earlier which I really appreciated. I unfortunately didnt catch her name but she was so lovely and helpful and I was so grateful for her to take time out of her day to tell me about the procedure to help alleviate my fears.Overall I had a great experience here and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone else!
I LOVE this place. Medical practice catering to women/female identifying folks. Beautiful, serene space, incredibly helpful and friendly staff, excellent providers. My primary GP and OB are here, I get blood draws and acupuncture here. My psych is thru Tia as well. Great virtual appointment options as well. Highly recommend!
Hands down the most pleasant check up I’ve ever had even down to the pap. Everyone was incredibly nice. Kate and Grecia did such a great job walking me through my appointment and taking care of me and especially Brandy J. who was extremely sweet and efficient with my blood draw. Thank you!!
Gorgeous and calming atmosphere. Kind, intentional staff. Easiest doctors appointment I’ve ever had. Appreciated the way the team clearly explained everything they were going to do before proceeding and took time to ask my questions and answer them. I can hardly believe I am saying this but I look forward to my next doctors visit! There’s a delicious coffee spot right under this Tia location if you need a coffee or treat before/after your appointment.
Actual charges after 2 months with Tia:• New Patient Establishment of Care: Billed to Insurance $249 / I paid $165.18• Abdominal or Digestive Issues: Billed to Insurance $303 / I paid $183.11 (no care received, got a referral to an outside specialist)• Depression Assessment: Billed to Insurance $469 / I paid $247.91• Annual Preventative Exam: Covered by Insurance, but Quest Diagnostics billed $216.86• Mental Health Follow-up: Billed to Insurance $575 / I paid $385.73 (This visit was coded improperly - see below!)• Monthly Charge: $15 x 2Out of Pocket Total with a high deductible insurance plan: $1,228If you’re like me and don’t need to visit the doctor regularly but require a regular prescription, like an antidepressant, I do not recommend Tia. They only prescribe for 2-3 weeks at a time, forcing you to make costly regular follow-up appointments where they’ll tell you, “give the medication more time to work! We can reassess in the next visit.” So far, I’ve paid $800 just to get an antidepressant prescription (one I was on long before I started at Tia!).If you stay with Tia, PLEASE: check your bills and look up what the codes mean. I was charged $575 for a “Psychiatric Diagnostic Evaluation” for a Mental Health follow-up (medication management visit) where I spent less than 10 minutes in a video chat with a provider. I had to look up the requirements of the medical coding and reach out to the care team to ask them to change it. This is upcoding—a type of insurance fraud. Is it easy to book appointments with Tia? Yeah, sure… that’s exactly what they want you to do. Don’t be fooled by the interior design and ‘special robes’ aesthetic. They aren’t any more ‘holistic’ or female-focused than any other provider I’ve experienced—it’s all branding.I’ve switched to Sesame for cheaper visits, prescription refills, and no monthly membership fee. The virtual visits with providers are just as easy to book.
I don’t understand why people have left bad reviews with Tia! I joined a month ago and HOLY SMOKES they have fulfilled absolutely all my needs and concerns. I feel 100% comfortable going to this office and the vibe is so lovely. The staff has been so accommodating and I’m able to get an appointment so quickly if I need too. My doctor has been so sweet knowing I have anxiety and hate going to the doctors so she made sure I was completely comfortable and aware of everything happening. I highly recommend Tia. The online portal is super easy to use as well. Totally worth it and I don’t think I’ll ever go back to the typical doctors office.
Wow I was so excited to try this place out. Beautiful space, coordinating Gyno+GP together, covered by insurance, what a dream.I had my first virtual consult which went great, and was excited to set up my in-office visit. BUT THEN they charged my insurance $373 for the 20-minute virtual phone call, and my insurance is making me pay $181 of it. WTAF?? All my checkups in the past have been 100% covered by insurance with a $10 copay. So yes - Im definitely canceling everything here and going back to my old GP and Gyno. What a bummer.
I can fully confirm previous reviews re: Tia trying to squeeze you for as much money as possible. They split your initial visit into three separate visits, charging a copay for the first and third. I told them I had several health issues I was wanting to address, and they tried to get me to make three different appoints (one for my annual exam, one for carpal tunnel, and then one for a mammogram). They tried to get me to book the general visit, which was going to include blood work before my annual exam, and then they referred me for a mammogram being billed under a code for breast pain. Heres the thing:Doing the visit for carpal tunnel first would have me paying a copay + for diagnostic blood work that would be covered at 100% under my annual exam, and the mammogram would be covered under the annual at 100% as well. When I asked their billing team why my care was being organized this way when we could do the annual first and my blood work + mammogram would then be covered at 100%, they were extremely cagey and did not really answer my question.I decided to go ahead and just do my annual exam first, regardless of their recommendation, and insist that the blood work + mam be billed with a preventative code but I couldnt get the online booking portal to work, as it kept glitching. I tried to call to schedule over the phone, but no one was available and it took them THREE DAYS to call me back.I am done messing with these folks, as its clear that this is a scam with an excellent marketing campaign. Theyre absolutely structuring care to bill your insurance as much as possible, which is not only a monumental waste of your time with all the unnecessary appointments but also increases your out of pocket costs exponentially—and theyre charging you a membership fee for the privilege. As another reviewer said—Tia is very clearly engaging in upcoding and unbundling, which are both considered medical fraud. I fully expect to see them as the subject of a class action suit in the next 10 years.
I was so excited about Tia and actually recommended it to others when I first got it but it has become an absolute nightmare in the last year. The other reviews about billing and poor communications are 100% accurate.I have been fighting with them for over a year because the lab they use keeps sending me a $500 bill for bloodwork that is 100% covered by my insurance and my insurance said Tia billed them incorrectly and if Tia would just fix the billing codes my insurance will pay for the labs. Ive explained this to Tia team members at least 12 times over the last year and every time I message they make me explain the whole situation all over again and say they will handle it and then I get another bill. Im so frustrated and I obviously cancelled my membership with them months ago cant wait to be done with them.Dont pay for Tia what a waste of money they made my life harder instead of easier.
I initially was (wrongly) informed by staff that my insurance is in-network with Tia. Then found out it wasn’t. I have since requested to cancel twice. They have not cancelled. All they did was offer me complimentary membership if I’d like, but that’s pointless considering my insurance is out of network. For context, I asked on May 12th to cancel, and as of June 6th they still have not. They also charged me a membership fee FOUR times in one day, I assume a glitch happened on their end, but they never contacted me to clarify nor apologize. They need to get it together over there. They’re focusing too much on being trendy instead of their service.
They couldn’t make their pricing more opaque if they tried. Total opposite of transparent. The way pricing is presented on the website suggests that you can pay in full for the year upfront OR pay monthly “over time.” It is never made clear that you are unable to cancel the monthly subscription and this is intentional. Did not like the service. Too many middle men, chat communication, and I just don’t give with the overall wokeness of it all.
Care here is really hit or miss. I’d rather not gamble when it comes to my healthcare. Saw an NP concerning a painful lump, I was told since I had a lower BMI, I’ll likely feel lumps and bumps around my body. She wouldn’t even order an ultrasound lol. Fast forward a year, and I am diagnosed with a very large ovarian cyst !!!! I obviously stopped going here for care because despite their efforts to promote a healthcare system that emphasizes exceptional care for women, they definitely do not practice that way.I had good experiences with the administrative staff, phlebotomists, and medical assistants, but one bad experience ruined absolutely everything for me. It’s also true what people say about billing, none of this is worth it. Sitting in a pretty room does not change the fact that your concerns will likely be ignored because they’re trying to see patients as fast as possible.
How are they still allowed to be open?!?! I came in to write a terrible review about still being billed despite multiple calls, messages and emails requesting to not be a member of this JOKE of a healthcare facility. I see I am not the only one being ripped off. So sad to see what this place has put people through that are only seeking health. I will figure out how to hold them legally responsible. Whoever wants to respond to this, REMOVE ME FROM YOUR MEMBER LIST AND YOU WILL NEVER HEAR FROM ME AGAIN.
This review is specifically for the blood draw and general ambience/ experience of the silverlake location.Brandy L my phlebotomist was perfect and this review is really mostly for her. I get very spooked and anxious about blood draws and was sure to let her know. She was kind, compassionate, and textbook in how effortless the blood draw felt, which is saying something with my anxiety. I would have her be my personal phlebotomist if that was a thing lol. Honestly, as someone who’s EXTREMELY anxious about these things and taking the time to leave a review should indicate how awesome she did.Pros:One of the best phlebotomists I’ve ever gotten blood drawn fromReally beautiful aesthetic for the “living room” aka waiting room, nice attention to details like the robes and the refreshments and books. My NP was kind and thorough, letting me know what was happening throughout the exam. Overall I had a pleasant experience at this location.Cons: parking- as there is non but the street, getting to the location was a bit weird with the buzzer system. I’m also seeing a lot of insurance kick backs and administrative problems in reviews so not sure if that will happen with my experience so I can’t speak to that (yet, at least).
I am fed up with this place. Ever since they merged with Cedars, things have gotten terrible.First, they are a business and they are in the business of making money. They used to offer therapy through insurance, but it wasnt profitable so now they offer groups and coaching that are *not technically* mental health care so they can charge you out of pocket.Acupuncture used to also take insurance and now it no longer does. They changed their billing around this very suddenly resulting in me agreeing to pay out of pocket if my insurance didnt cover my appointment (which it always had), then getting hit with a surprise bill because oops they stopped taking my insurance. Most recently I saw a doctor through Tia for a virtual visit because I had cold and flu symptoms. It was billed to my insurance as visiting a specialist instead of primary care, resulting in a $65 (rather than $5) copay to talk to someone who said maybe two sentences our entire interaction.Oh, and they sent me an information sheet about cervical cancer that I personally found offensive in tone.Ive been with Tia for years. Part of the reason I hadnt left until now was they have all my history and I dont know where else to go. This last straw has broken my back; its worth it to start over with someone new.
Tia is an absolute game changer when it comes to seeing a doctor and taking care of yourself as a women. There is such a warm, safe energy around the whole place from the aesthetic to the wonderful people who work here. They have completely changed my view of a doctor experience with such a positive one.
I love it here! Brandy L. drew my blood and she was so kind. She could sense that I was nervous and made me feel so welcomed and safe.
Please read the 1 star reviews because they are true!I signed up for it excited to have healthcare that caters to women.I paid for a couple of months of this service (because it works like a membership. A cost that comes out of your pocket, because something like this is not covered by insurance), and I was ready to have my first appointment with them. They split your initial visit in 3 parts, but they did NOT explain that you get charged separately for each one (I believe for one of them you dont get charged, but I didnt get that far).I met with a nurse at first, virtually for a very short amount of time, and she asked me routine questions, kind of like what they ask you initially before you see a doctor (what are your health concerns? what would you like to discuss with your doctor? etc.).I later saw that I was charged $75 for it, which is crazy to me because this meeting was very short, and it was virtual. I understand that is the nurses time, but why not have 1 appointment where you ask these questions and see a doctor, and get charged 1 copay, like everywhere else?If they are charging me $75, who knows how much they billed my insurance for a 15 min virtual call, where they ask me what I wanna discuss with the doctor. Also, when I asked the nurse about cost of things she was very vague. I tried to have a reasonable discussion about this $75 charge through the chat feature that Tia has in the website, and they basically just told me thats how things are and theres nothing that can be done.So I immediately canceled the service, because honestly, even if you do have amazing health care practitioners, that does not matter when you are not upfront about how your system works, and youre charging people without disclosing it and not making an effort to make things right. Its deceptive frankly, and thats sorta how a scam works. This is also a disservice to your practitioners who also do a good job but are unaware of what happens on the billing side of things. Please go elsewhere. It just takes a little more effort to find a doctor you trust, but believe me, it will be less of a headache, and you will for sure spend less money.PS. I never leave reviews anywhere, but I was so upset by this. I do think people need to know!
Beautiful interiors and great front desk/admin support, but the actual medical care I’ve received here is sub-par. Nurses and doctors have been dismissive of my concerns in numerous appointments on multiple issues (turns out my hunches were right on all, go figure). For a company that’s supposed to be all about women’s health and empowerment, this experience falls so short. The traditional doctor route (even though it’s not ideal) is still better than this.
Sorry to see some of the bad reviews for Tia. I’ve had nothing but great experiences with Tia and I am so glad I found them. I get very nervous around health care professionals as I’ve had bad experiences in the past as a woman of color. Fortunately, the health professionals I’ve met at Tia have been compassionate and considerate and restored some of my faith in healthcare in America for black women.
Tia does not follow up on details of your health care and are incredibly hard to get in touch with. Do not sign up; it cost me more time than going to a regular place due to the need to constantly follow up on the details of my care. It is a scam.
I cannot recommend this place enough. Beyond the amazing hospitality and gentleness from the staff that was the best pap I’ve ever had. lol the speculum was warm, she was quick and the robe your given is silk. Although these are seemingly small things it made a world of difference. The woman who drew my blood was quick and she made me so comfortable I could barely feel it. I’ve told my sisters, friends and co-workers to go there. 100/10. Seriously.
I don’t normally review but I feel I have to in order to keep others from going here. They’ve been charging me insane prices that no insurance company will cover because it’s not healthcare, it’s just fees for their business. After cancelling my account and paying off their bills because there was no other way around it - I get a $100 bill out of nowhere a year later. When I call they have no records of my previous payments, didn’t know what this bill was for, then hung up in the middle of the call. Now they won’t answer me but their email says they will charge me if I don’t pay. This place is a scam and does not care at all for their patients. Stay the f away.
Fine experience in the office! But incompetently failed to check my insurance benefits leaving me in a months long situation with CVS to get my bill overturned. Tia also refused to take responsibility for their mistake (and has no direct line for you to contact them with concerns). Wouldnt recommend.
The staff are really kind and the clinic is very trendy and well branded, but from my experience, I found Tia to be more like a glamorized urgent care than a holistic primary care offering. If you have TIA as your PCP you won’t see the same doctor every time and instead you have a “care plan” and team of rotating people you see. I get that a lot can be captured in notes and documentation, but this is no substitute for a trusting and personalized relationship with your doctor. I unfortunately won’t return to Tia after 3 months of care through them as I don’t think their model really supports doctors getting to know their clients well and create plans based on trust and longitudinal relationships.
It’s chic and all, but they got the wrong diagnosis after asking for a second and third opinion and it was for a heart murmur, which is a pretty big deal. They billed me $300 for a contraception consultation which is typically free with other OBGYNs. They force you to see a NP, not even an MD or anything to refill your birth control and charge you $50 for being within the 10 min grace period. Oh, and they don’t let you cancel your membership. They’re the worst and they lock you in so you can’t cancel. Beware!!
I always have a great experience here. The staff is really kind and helpful. My phlebotomist Brandy L. was especially incredible. Getting blood is usually a terrible experience for me and she made it quick, easy and pleasant.Edit: dropping 2 stars as were a week in with no blood test results despite outreach on my end. considering most clinics take 1-2 business days this feels pretty unacceptable.
I’m literally obsessed with this place. I am TERRIFIED of blood tests. Last night before my appointment I was too anxious to sleep. But my blood draw at Tia was the best draw experience I’ve EVER had. At other places, people have trouble finding my veins or getting the blood to come out in a steady stream but this woman absolutely killed it. I don’t even think it took 2 whole minutes for the entire draw. Not to mention the clinic has a vibe like a spa behind two buzzer doors, so you’re not feeling like some randos off the street are wandering in and coughing on you in the waiting room. Instead of embarrassing medical gowns and plastic slippers they give you a nice little spa robe and the CUTEST socks. I never thought of that stuff as important before, but now I realize the whole environment of a health facility is important - and they really nailed it at Tia.
Because they delete my comments reviews on Instagram being deleted by them. The acupuncture is amazing , the front desk staff is great💖but the doctor and billing department are the worst , be iatse their dr Tully and Nguyen. I have high iron now and they charged me twice for the appointment and gave wrong referral to I’m gaining center, because of that I got thousands of dollars bills, that I had to deal with and fixed them. It took them months to figure out but it’s still pending . Never going back there for doctors appointments only for amazing acupuncture
Leaving this review on every location just so people know. THIS IS A SCAM. If I could leave zero stars I would. After signing up for Tia and entering all of my insurance information, I thought I was good to go. Used the services multiple times over the course of 3 months. Then out of the blue I receive a bill for $900 dollars. When I message someone to inquire about this bill that is surely a mistake, they inform me that I’m actually not in network and that I can do a payment plan to pay off the bill. This is news to me, why would I be finding out 3 months after signing up for and using Tia that I’m out of network?! So I express to the “care coordinator” via their messaging system that this is unacceptable, I wouldn’t have used their services if I knew I was out of network. She apologized for the inconvenience and told me that she would speak with her managers about a discount or something for the bill (even though I don’t think I should have to pay any of it). This interaction took place last week. I hadn’t heard back from her so I touched base again on Friday to see what was going on and she that she would ping her manager again about it.Then today, I get notified that $900 had been taken from my checking account. I am distraught. I am leaving for a Thanksgiving trip and they’ve just taken all of the money for my trip out of my checking in the middle of this dispute. I am writing this while I’m on hold to speak with a representative.I just want everyone to know so this doesn’t happen to them. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE, THEY WILL TRY TO SCAM YOU.
Really great physical office space with a patio for before/after your appt. The providers are very caring and even the client intake form is thorough. I felt very seen.
The care that I received here was top-tier, however.. they dont know how to do billing or work with insurance, nor communicate with their patients as they come upon these issues.
I want to thank Roxxy for being an exceptional human soul, using their gifts to support and care for people in their community, and continuing to make the Tia experience such a special one for folks who walk through those doors.
I heard so much criticism about Tia but still decided to give it a try for convenience sake. Do not go here if you care about your health and want to have healthcare professionals that care about your health. I recently had lab work done and had a question about the results. They told me I had to schedule an appointment to have my lab results explained. I spend a lot of time in doctor’s offices due to health conditions and have never had a doctor not call me to explain my results before just dropping them in my inbox and leaving me to interpret them myself. This was a really disappointing experience and I’ll definitely be canceling my membership. not to mention there’s no parking and their front desk is impossible to get access to via phone.
I have just joined Tia, had my yearly physical today and I am truly jumping for joy. Ive never felt so comfortable at the doctors. Everyone was so friendly, helpful, the facilities felt clean and inviting. The fact that I can book a same day or next day appointment when needed, makes me feel totally cared for and at ease with my Healthcare. Thank you! And Im so happy I found Tia!!
I came in for some routine blood work and my provider, Brandy Lesure, was so great! I was taken back immediately and she made the whole experience easy and enjoyable. Brandy is super personable and does a great job of putting patients at ease
The Tia office itself is beautiful and clean. The people working the front desk are always nice. There is an assortment of beverages to choose from while you sit in their waiting room, and so far Ive never found myself waiting too long for my appointments. The appointment booking system is pretty straightforward and user friendly on the site, and their staff is always quick to respond to messages. Ive knocked off two stars in my review because of issues regarding their mental health services. Let me just start by saying that I have found a great therapist through Tia once they started taking insurance about one year ago. Without insurance, their therapy services are just too expensive for me. I was recently informed that Tia has decided to no longer accept my insurance and I so I wont be able to see my therapist at Tia beginning in December. Its difficult to deal with a disruption in your treatment when you feel like youre making good progress, and I really feel for all of the patients who are losing a service they might desperately need. Ever since this happened I have received a number of texts and emails regarding group therapy which Im not interested in, and it just serves as a constant reminder that Im no longer eligible for this service. Im grateful they accept my insurance for everything else but this is a real bummer.
I feel scammed! They did not disclose the costs of the three-part intro visit that they FORCE you to do to establish care at their practice. At any other doctor, my insurance would cover this as one preventative visit, but they have this awful method of splitting that one intro appointment into three separate visits (two of which were short zoom calls). I never even saw a Doctor at any point. Over $250 for a zoom call with a nurse practitioner? Avoid this place, I wish I had read the reviews before I got scammed by this establishment.
Been a member at Tia almost a year now. I’ve seen them for annual physicals and also for a semi emergent appointment I didn’t want to go to urgent care for. For that appointment I was able to get an appointment within 48 hours and they helped me tremendously. They helped me find a GI specialist. I really enjoyed the acupuncture. They offer affordable mental health services but there is a waitlist, so please expect that (typical for any lower price mental health therapy in my experience). I like them much more than any other PCP office I’ve been to. Would recommend to any of my friends.
If Id looked at some of these reviews before going to Tia, I wouldnt have gone. Im so glad I didnt. Ive had a wonderful experience in nearly every aspect. Its easy to make appointments, you can get seen quickly (try getting a next day appointment at any other OBGYN), and while the chat feature is a little clunky, I appreciate being able to go back and forth with my provider.I also *love* their non-judgmental approach. Ive never walked out of an appointment at Tia feeling shamed or bad about myself or my body. There are a few technical issues Im looking forward to them resolving (text-only communications, etc), but overall Im extremely happy with my experience.
TIA is a total scam. They keep charging my credit card, won’t tell me what for and when I try To cancel it’s sends me to a customer portal where no one responds. They also don’t answer the phones. I have Tried to cancel for 2 weeks to no avail. Next stop is the BBB.
Do not go here if you need actual medical care or have a body, that may at some point need medical care. They completely missed a very large fibroid (over 14 cm) in my yearly exams. They only eventually did an ultrasound and found it after my acupuncturist (not at TIA) found it and told me to go to my doctor and insist on an ultrasound. Once I started to see specialists outside of TIA, I was asked repeatedly if I had skipped my annual exam for the last few years, because they could not comprehend how such a large fibroid could be missed. If all you care about is a cute waiting room, by all means go, but for anyone else, take care of yourself and go elsewhere.
The staff is super friendly and attentive all around (front desk, nurses, doctors, acupuncturists) and I feel very safe and comfortable every time I visit. The entire place is extremely clean and offers refreshments like tea and Recess drinks. It’s above and beyond any normal doctor’s office I’ve been to that I’ve dreaded visiting. I’m very appreciative that a place like this exists.
I never leave reviews, but my experience has been so terrible that I need to warn those who might be considering Tia. It is difficult to communicate with any provider, there is no transparency in billing, and they suddenly removed individual therapy services after I had been on a waitlist for several months. Tia claims to be a one-stop shop for mental health and wellness. The ads show massage therapy and individualized mental health support. They do not provide massages or individual therapy.I was accidentally charged for a “no show” virtual appointment. I contacted the support chat and asked for a refund. They continually responded that it was not an error and closed the chat. There is no other way to contact customer support to resolve the issue. This is a great way to steal from members without accountability.Basically, you are paying monthly for an aesthetically pleasing urgent care. They do not have the resources to help with most medical needs, so they will refer you out. It is a waste of time and money unless you care about the aesthetic of the waiting room in your local urgent care.
Amazing service, all staff members were incredibly nice! The doctors were so sweet and Brandy Lesure brought such great energy while getting my bloodwork done. I didn’t have to wait long after check-in before seeing a doctor. Yet another great experience at Tia
This place is actually a huge scam. I have never experienced worse customer service than when dealing with Tia. I needed a doctor who would replace my IUD after a previous provider said they no longer placed my device, so I turned to Tia after seeing such great advertisements and marketing that framed the company as a safe space for women to receive all of the care they needed under one roof. This is probably the LEAST safe I have ever felt in a medical facility, as I have 100% been scammed by this company.I wanted to start with my annual womens visit before inquiring about my IUD replacement. I was told upon scheduling that the three-part series of visits would count as my annual appointment, covered by insurance. WRONG. The initial visit and the follow-up visit were not covered by insurance and I have to pay out of pocket for those. They were each approximately 5 minute long Zoom calls. Waste of my time and of my money. Now for the kicker: visit 2. I was told I didnt need a pap smear, so I only had an external uterine exam (she pressed on my pelvic area; I did not undress) and a breast exam. The doctor asked me if I had any additional concerns, in which I mentioned depression/anxiety. The doctor then gave me a website to find a mental health professional on my own. This apparently made my visit no longer an annual visit, but instead an evaluation and management visit since we discussed more than just OB/GYN topics. Additionally, I was asked if I wanted blood work done, and I asked the doctor if that was included in my visit, and she said yes. I proceeded with the blood work, and was told 2 months later that blood work is never included and that I would be billed the entire cost of the lab work, which was approximately $600.It has taken Tia 3 months to get back to me on this billing situation, and on a call today, I was told that they would provide an additional update sometime within the next 2 months before they charge me. I wont have answers until OCTOBER for a visit that was in MARCH and should have been a simple OB/GYN appointment.I will never recommend Tia to any woman looking for healthcare. I feel taken advantage of and scammed. This is the worst service I have ever experienced in healthcare.
2 stars mainly because although Tia didnt necessarily do anything bad or wrong I felt like the clinics arent trained to treat deeper issues that arent just surface level or things that are easy to decipher. I went to Tia multiple times with ongoing issues and kept receiving generic surface level tests and answers from them. I only was able to get to the root of my issues and finally resolve what was going on with my body once I went to a long running reputable gynecologist that had experience and history in the field. Tia is somewhat just a fad and aesthetic and I dont think I would recommend spending your money here.
Stay away!! If I could give Tia zero stars I would. This is the worst business I have ever encountered and they are absolutely taking advantage of their clients. My office appointment was great and the office was very cute and felt very inclusive. The problem came with my prescriptions, they sent 1 of 3 that were discussed and refills from a previous doctor. When I contacted them to request the rx, they insisted I had to come in for another in person appointment. I refused, as I had already discussed at my initial visit. After 2 weeks of back and forth, I finally got someone on the phone who gave me 2 weeks worth and insisted I come back for the rest. It was unbelievable! I have been taking these for years and this has never happened. (Side note: the nurse who gave me the rx over the phone had completely lost their voice and said “sorry I was out all weekend and lost my voice”)I finally got my 2 weeks worth, cancelled my membership, and went to a real doctor. This was November 2022. I was going to let it go but fast forward to now and I have a charge for a membership fee on my card for March 2023. I did NOT reinstate my membership and had no intentions of ever returning. It has now been 4 days, a phone call and several messages and they have now indicated they will provide the refund but it is for the incorrect amount and said it would show up on my statement as a charge and then a refund in two weeks. So they have actually charged me more, and not provided any refund. This has caused an inordinate amount of stress and anxiety for me. From a company that “values mental health”, it has caused me more mental strife than any other practitioner or business. Ever. Please DO NOT GO HERE!!! It’s not what is advertised. The only thing nice about this clinic is the aesthetic. They will scam you out of money with hidden fees & manipulation. I was given a cost for my visit & charged WAY more than they told me it would be, then they ghosted me on their chat after I tried to sort things out. If you call, you’ll be put on hold for forever & they will purposely ignore you. I went here for lgbtq+ inclusive care & I appreciated the comfort of the rooms, but other than that I had a terrible experience & do not feel like thisplace is honest in any way shape or form. Do not go here if you have to pay out of pocket, you will be paying way more than they say. I’ve never in my life left a review, nonetheless a bad one, but after how bad my experience was I felt I had to warn others.
I’m going to try to be as suffice as possible but I could go on and on about how great my experiences have been with Tia. In just 2-3 appointments they were able to diagnose and help me come up with a care plan to issues I’ve been having for over 12 years that other specialists deemed a “mystery”. I also appreciate that they give you all possible options when it comes to working out a care plan without judgment so you’re able to do what’s best for you and your body. The overall environment is very warm and welcoming which was greatly appreciated since going to doctors can be nerve-wrecking sometimes. Every time I’ve gone for various appointments the staff have always been so sweet and I would recommend Tia to everyone!
I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Tia. The office is absolutely stunning. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a more beautiful doctors office. They also gave me a very luxurious patient robe for my exam and a pair of adorable socks that said “inhale exhale” that I got to keep! The staff was phenomenal. I saw a nurse practitioner named Kimberly and she was so great. She took the time to explain everything she was doing which is so important, specifically for OBGYN appointments. Her energy was fantastic and I felt very safe and secure. I 10/10 would recommend checking out Tia.
I wanted a place that took women seriously, I booked an appointment for guy health which I knew would cost some out of pocket but I got charged $340 for a 15min zoom call where they told me to take acupuncture.Got charged $200 for my health examAnd now I just got a bill that none of the test that are usually part of a health exam didn’t get covered and getting charged $400.Check with your insurance and also ask them for prices , they said those test would be included and covered but basically nothing was I had to pay all out of pocket
I absolutely love Tia! I’ve been a member since about July and have always had a lovely experience. Having all of my information online following the appointment is so helpful, and their chat service makes it easy to get ahold of people and make appointments. Plus, the robes are super cozy for appointments & you get tasty drinks (like coffee and tea.) I highly recommend for anyone who’s looking for an all in one place! My only complaint is that they can’t prescribe stimulant medication, so keep that in mind if looking at Tia for psychiatry.
I was a HUGE fan of ask Tia when I first visited there. Unfortunately I had a series of bad experiences there including an unsettling appointment with one of their staff.I booked in for an exam as I was having pelvic pain and my period was 4 weeks late. I knew I had a cyst from an earlier appointment, I wasn’t sure if that was the cause. We were also trying to get pregnant and I was testing negative but my period was still super late ( I explained to the nurse that had never happened to me before).Someone came in and told me to undress waist down and put on the gown. When the nurse came into the room I explained my situation to her and said i was in pain and I would like an ultrasound to check the cyst hadn’t burst and to make sure it wasn’t an ectopic pregnancy as the pain was severe. She immediately started to argue that I hadn’t booked an ultrasound. I said I booked an appointment that was marked “pelvic pain” and assumed that would include a pelvic exam like any other gynaecologist I’ve ever been to. She said no and I explained I had been waiting for this appointment for two days and I was in pain. So I asked what the pelvic pain appointment included. She continued hammering on about how my appointment should have been an ultrasound appointment if that’s what I wanted . I continued to ask for an exam and said I had severe pain, she then pressed the outside of my stomach and said it’s totally normal for the period to be late: I said the pain was abnormal. She said if I wanted an ultrasound I should go to an urgent care or the ER and didn’t do ANY exam outside of pressing my stomach from the outside. So I was just sat there half naked for no reason and then put my clothes back on. It was a super uncomfortable experience. I didn’t understand why they had had me undress if she wasn’t gonna do a pelvic exam at all.I left the office crying my eyes out after feeling mortified sitting there half naked begging her to do an exam. They offered me to come back a week later when they had an ultrasound appointment available. Which was too late as I couldn’t bare the idea of another week in agony.I ended up getting into a different gynaecologist office the day after. They did a full check up with ultrasound like a normal gynaecologist appointment. Turns out the cyst had doubled in size in a few months and was an endometriosis cyst at high risk of bursting so I was immediately scheduled for laparoscopic cyst removal the next day.I was absolutely HORRIFIED at the behaviour of said nurse or practitioner at ask Tia as they campaign so heavily with “women being believed” bla bla. I have never felt stupider or less believed in my life than at ask Tia.I debated whether or not to leave this review as I don’t wish for the whole world to know my medical journey and that we are trying to get pregnant. So I used a different name for my own privacy.I think whoever started ask Tia clearly had great intentions, the concept and the idea was a great one. But their system is not effective and what you pay for is nice furniture and a modern booking system not better female healthcare unfortunately.
I am updating my review from 3 stars to 1 star because after my last mental health provider left the practice, I was scheduled to see a new provider in mid-June. Tia reached out to me to reschedule that appointment a few weeks ago, and the best date available was today. While waiting in the zoom call for my provider to join today, I received a Tia chat 5 minutes after my appointment start time that said they hadnt booked enough time for me and I will be rescheduled another two weeks out. While they have taken care of my medications during this time, I am about fed up with my experience getting mental health care through Tia.---Previous reviewIts great for gyno care, shaky for everything else. IMO Tia would be an amazing practice if they focused on gyn and some of the urgent GP telehealth - that is stuff they are great with. I love that I can go in with a concern and have my blood draw done in the same office instead of going to a lab.But their mental health care has really deteriorated. I used to meet with a psych NP who would renew my non-stimulant ADHD medication for 3 months, no problem. Until I was switched to someone else who needed a note from another doctor that I could continue taking the combination of medications Ive been on for *8 years*.Then, once my doctor sent it to me and I passed it to Tia (what they asked me to do), they said that anyone could have written the note my doctor sent. It really left a bad taste in my mouth to be accused of lying by my provider when I followed her instructions, and Im looking to take my psych medication management elsewhere. Now that the practice is much bigger, it is harder to get a response from their chat, as well. Ive been with Tia 2+ years now I think? and the past year has been much worse than before.
Brandi was an amazing phlebotomist! the service here is amazing, staff and doctors have a thorough and preventative protocol and worth the other things ( lack of parking) because i was seen so quickly! if u like efficiency this is your place
The second I switched my insurance to PPO, I joined TIA and I have never in my life felt safer as a woman of color in a health care setting. They begin with a video consultation during which I was able to ask ALL the questions about things Im experiencing and things Id like to explore further. They asked me a thorough list of questions that made me immediately feel like I was in good and caring hands. Then came the in-person visit to draw blood samples and get a general health exam. They spotted my anxiety with needles right away and coached me through it beautifully. Frankly, their entire team is highly empathic and trauma-trained so their approach has always been caring and never impatient. Their medical offices are an entire mood, too! Calming colors, soft lighting, thoughtful amenities, etc. Id be fine spending an entire day there just because, but Ive never actually stayed for more than about an hour as theyre so prompt with everything. A week later I had part 3 of my exam over Zoom to review my blood sample results and by the end of the day I had an ENTIRE care plan and care team set up at my fingertips. They signed me up for Capsule to have any and all medications delivered same-day to my door; I had referrals and recommendations to address EVERY concern I brought up over the course of my consultation. Ive been back for a couple of other medical visits and theyve never wavered from the standard they set from day one. I love TIA. It just makes sense and I tell all of my friends with uteruses about it.
BEWARE! This place is one step away from a full scam, read the other reviews if you need further proof.I first registered for Tia because I fell for their slick marketing. All I need right now is therapy and a monthly prescription, no major health problems that require complex medical care. So I figured it wouldn’t hurt, and the pushy marketing representative assured me that these were services accessible to Tia clients. After registering, there were major technical problems and I was unable to make contact until February. Not a big deal at first, but after other technical and scheduling issues, it took until April to get my first appointment and prescription, and it was not sent to the pharmacist. I had to go back-and-forth over several weeks with Tia and my pharmacy. I had a similar experience when I went in for my second refill, which I reached out to Tia two weeks in advance to make sure it was filled before I went on vacation but, of course, the pharmacy never received it again. Their customer service representatives continually gaslight me, saying they sent it, but my pharmacist is a person I’ve been working with for almost a decade and I believe them when they said that they never received it. Especially based on my previous experience with Tia. I tried again to fill the prescription almost three weeks ago and they said that I needed another doctors appointment first and there were no availability before October 1. This was just after Labor Day, and they can’t get me an appointment until after October? it’s extremely dangerous and careless of them to require a doctors appointment for a refill on a 30 day prescription that they can’t book with 3 weeks advance notice. If this is the case, then they should be booking my appointment after my previous appointment. This means I’ve only had 60 days worth of medication to get me through nine months of the year. Luckily I had some extra meds stockpiled from two years ago when I filled my prescription just before ending my meds and I have been cutting the pills in half and skipping every other day. It’s disgusting I’ve had to do this.Therapy was just as awful. It took me almost until June to get a hold of somebody about therapy, and then I was told the wait list would last until September. I was frustrated and threw a fit and managed to get an appointment every other week in early July that was canceled twice by the therapist. So I didn’t begin therapy until September. One appointment was canceled less than 10 minutes in advance, yet Tia requires clients to cancel over 48 hours in advance or pay a $50 fine. My therapist candidly told me that there was no transparency between her and Tia, she didn’t know when appointments were getting put on her calendar and had no ability to change them herself. She had a pre-scheduled vacation during the July time they put me on her calendar, so of course she had to cancel. My in person appointment was horrid as well. They had me fill out like a 20 page intake form that asked a lot of great questions. It reminded me of things I wanted to bring up in my appointment. Once I got there I could see why people fall for their services. It was pretty on the inside and they offered free recess canned drinks and a satin robe to change into. But I got almost no time with the doctor. She came in, did not review anything on the intake form, and left before I realized that was the end of my appointment and didn’t get a chance to ask any of my questions. There were other things that went wrong but I’m just so exhausted. Oh, and they called me by a shortened version of my name the entire time, I had to continually corrected everyone, it was really disorienting and the final straw. I’m out.Run away ladies!!! Don’t sacrifice good healthcare in exchange for great interior design and racist micro aggressions.
This location is SO BAD compared to the Santa Monica location. If you can, go to Santa Monica. The personnel in Silver Lake is UNWELCOMING and UNACCOMMODATING 👎.In Santa Monica, I am always welcome to go in the room with my partner. I stay throughout the whole procedure and the doctors and nurses like and appreciate that I take part in accompanying my partner in their sexual health journey. In Silver Lake, I was told to stay in the waiting room, the nurses and doctors convinced my partner to go through the procedure by herself. They told her that it made them uncomfortable to have me by my partner’s side. Then, they came to tell me that my partner did not want me to be with her anymore while in reality she wanted me to be there but the doctors convinced her not to have me in the room.I do not recommend this location and rather recommend the Santa Monica location. The personnel at Silver Lake has a lot to learn from their colleagues in SAMO.
Please! Stay! Away!If I could give zero stars to Tia, I would.Because I care about your time and needs - unlike Tia - I will spare the disturbingly long list of issues and malpractice that I experienced with this supposedly “patient first” clinic.Don’t believe them when they say they’re in network! Tia scammed me into joining, claiming to take my insurance when they could not offer referrals and told me they’re “working on it” for over a year before they suddenly (and without warning) just flat out stopped taking my insurance.I was put on multiple serious medications at Tia only for them to leave me without coverage or help. This is truly just the tip of the iceberg.I can’t stress enough how truly dangerous and fraudulent this company is. I’ve never left a review like this. But it feels like a moral obligation to warn other women - especially those struggling with chronic illness, mental health, or who are desperately seeking relief from the usual healthcare system abuse. You will find the same BS here - but turns out it is even more infuriating when it’s given with a fake smile and a can of THC water.
Ive had an amazing experience at Tia. Their hybrid system (virtual and in person appointments) ensures that my time is respected and never wasted (Ive spent an hour waiting for doctors at other clinics, never at Tia) and their care team is thorough and thoughtful. Also love the chat feature which makes it easy for me to contact my care team and get updates from them quickly. Ive never had trouble getting an appointment and theres always street parking.
I have been going to TIA for over a year. My acupuncturist is amazing & I love my care team. I never have trouble getting appointments. Some people complained about the chat, I havent had any issues & it is much better than trying to call a normal doctors office! Labs and ultrasound are done on site, so Im not running all over to different offices for appointments.
I have been seeing Tia providers for 5 months now and Ive really loved it. As a fat woman, I was really happy with how sensitively they approached my health as separate from the number on the scale. Their office is beautiful and woman-focused - they even have a lactation room and free menstrual products in the restrooms! Since my whole-health exam I have seen various N.P.s and therapists via virtual appointments for my physical and mental health needs. The office has always been attentive and quick to get back to me.
I love all the doctors that I have seen, they are kind and think about you holistically. However, the billing department is a DISASTER. They tried to charge me for an appointment that THEY canceled last minute. Tia submits insurance claims 10 MONTHS after the appointment, so my insurance would no longer pay for the visit and they are trying to bill me for the full price because they are disorganized. Save your money and go somewhere else.
Always a positive experience! Brandy drew my blood and it was the quickest most painless experience I’ve ever had doing that! Highly recommend
This rating has nothing to do with the physical location, because everyone there was lovely. But as for being a Tia member and the whole experience in general, I could not recommend it less. They just randomly stopped taking my insurance one day without notifying me or referring me to another provider. Literally just one day like, whoops lol youre out of network now! 🤪 Thank god I had some of my medication left, although to get a refill to hold me over until I can find a new doctor was $65 for a 15 minute appointment (even though Im still within my membership). I get things change and its a new company and yada yada, but the lack of medical professionalism is concerning. What if I hadnt realized I was dropped before I ran out of medication? Again, zero communication or concern. The ONLY reason they get two stars is because I met the most amazing therapist through them who I still see (but who, interestingly, no longer works for them...) I definitely regret giving it a chance. Im just going to go back to seeing a regular doctor.
I’m so insanely glad my friend referred me to Tia. They helped me with something not a single other doctor could help me with so I’m forever grateful. They do charge $15 per month which tbh, I don’t think they should. I already pay so much for health insurance AND a co-pay each time, but there’s no way I’ll cancel my membership because I can make an appointment any time right away for whatever I need.I’ve done a few virtual appointments, blood tests, in-clinic appointments and even acupuncture and not to mention, every time I go into the clinic it’s so peaceful and I love the vibe there. Soooo happy to have Tia in my life and highly recommend Tia to anyone.
I have not been cared for like I am at Tia in any other health setting. I am very, very busy and travel a lot - which makes me not want to spend my precious time at home in a doctors office. Tia has made it so I am motivated to take care of myself and my body. The acupuncture is extremely helpful and the care is responsive and quick. The medical staff genuinely are concerned about your health. 10/10
The acupuncturists here are amazing. That being said, please don’t go here if you need actual western medical care. It is truly impossible to speak with a provider and they only provide the bare minimum as fas a check ups, etc.I had a question about whether or not I could get a fairly routine gynecological procedure done here after I had a baby. I called multiple times, spoke to multiple “care coordinators” who all gave me a vague answer of, “yeah we probably do that, but I’m not a doctor so I can’t say for sure, so just come in for the appointment and the doctor can tell you.” Why would I pay for a medical appointment just to find out the answer to a yes or no question and possibly need to go somewhere else afterwards? I have a high deductible, I can’t afford to pay for appointments that I don’t need.I tried calling this location specifically and was told that the best they could do for me is that I could describe what I needed done to the receptionist and she could describe it to the doctor and then she could call me back with what the doctor said. They were crystal clear that I was not, under any circumstances, allowed to speak to a doctor to learn if the procedure was available privately. First, I’m not entirely sure it is HIPAA compliant to have to explain your medical history to the receptionist. Second, I was floored that I was being asked to play a game of telephone about literally my vagina rather than speak privately to a provider. The only way I finally got an answer when I came in for acupuncture and there was an NP on break. I still wasn’t allowed to speak with a doctor, but I at least felt more comfortable speaking with a nurse about what I needed than the front desk. She also didn’t know if that was something that was done at Tia, she called a doctor while I was in acupuncture and was able to have an answer for me by the time I left. Of course Tia did not offer what I needed done, it seems like they’re more focused on providing birth control options than post partum care. Maybe this works if you don’t plan to ever have children, but for anyone else I would 100% steer clear.
I am giving one star for the overall office vibe/cleanliness/atmosphere (despite always being out of drinks when Im there) and one star for the staff when present who are welcoming and friendly. The actual experience as a patient though has been TERRIBLE. It has taken over a month to receive a specific type of billing, and when I received it, it was wrong. It has the WORST booking/calendaring system/UI i have ever had to use that I often will just call because its somehow easier to do that, and, to top it all off, though I am currently an active paying member - when I requested to cancel, all my appointments (four more booked, have been canceled) despite my membership still being active through the end of the month - despite them saying the same thing.Overall, they are not well organized, and there isnt enough out-of-stock sodas that can make up for the fundamental basics of billing, scheduling, and operations systems that need to foundational.
Can’t recommend Tia highly enough. The beautifully curated space alone sets the tone for a calming and easy experience. I was offered tea upon arriving and waited all of 5 minutes before being seen. The Doctors and Nurses are prompt and professional. They took the time to talk with me about all of my concerns. Visiting a doctors office can often feel so clinical and rushed, and I really appreciated how the team at Tia really cares about the patients and their experience.
I really love the atmosphere and staff at Tia. It doesnt feel like a doctors office which helps to ease the anxiety of being at the doctor. Everyone I have met with has been so patient, kind, reassuring, and knowledgeable with any and all of my questions. Im really happy to have found this place and I would recommend it to anyone in search of an GP or OBGYN.
I had a great virtual exam, but was not told until afterwards that my insurance was out of network, even though United Healthcare was listed on their website. Because of that, I decided not to move forward with treatment, yet 4 months later, they charged me $267 for said appointment. Seems like a cool place in theory, but TRIPLE CHECK your insurance before committing to anything at all.
Do not visit this office if you actually care about your health. They have a 10 minute grace period, and although I arrived to the office within my 10 minute grace period they refused to allow me to see doctor because the doctor was going on lunch. This place is ridiculous just got to an actual doctors office this place doesn’t care about their patients health.
Everyone at Tia silverlake is absolutely amazing. And special shout out to Brandy who did my blood draw and did it perfectly (especially when so many other phlebotomists have struggled with my veins)
I am in love with Tia. First and foremost the staff is the kindest, friendliest bunch of women. They made me feel so comfortable! Going to the gyno isn’t typically the most cozy experience but Tia has truly transformed that. The office is bright and playful, the robes are so silky and smooth, it almost feels like a girls retreat not like any traditional gyno I’ve been to before. I highly recommend you go here if you have any anxiety towards healthcare or are just looking for a great all in one doctors office! Thank you for your amazing care, Tia! ❤️
Dr smith was literally who I needed to support me with my mental health and guiding me through my first pap Tia has been there for me !
Best healthcare experience I’ve ever had. From the front desk to the nurses to the doctors and PAs. Everyone listens, is attuned to issues affecting womens health and wellness, and seems to care about each patient. It feels safe. I am extremely nervous in doctors offices and very needle shy. The nurse taking my blood today was incredible, sat with me through the discomfort, didn’t dismiss my extreme aversion … Tia is truly committed to their patients.
Called in to schedule my first appointment & Annabell helped me out, I’m deeply appreciative of how patient & knowledgeable she was when it came to all my questions & needs. She definitely made setting all this up super easy & understandable. I’m pretty excited now ! Thank you Tia Team !
I had the worst first appointment ever. It all lasted for 3 days when I was not able to schedule my first visit because they require $15 monthly or $150 yearly membership in order to even schedule a visit. I could not register because the text message with the code never came to my phone, I tried 5 times for 2 days. After someone called me back and did an account for me with my email, not a phone number (which also does not have a password and anyone can access all my health, payment and social security information) they booked my appointment.Today I had the craziest very stressful day at work with numerous back to back meetings which I purposely moved to earlier time, woke up at 3:30am to make to the appointment. But my Uber did not arrive in time and I arrived 10 min late which is fine, according to their policy 10 min is allowed for in person visits. The problem occurred when I couldnt open the doors downstairs, so I bypass the elevator to make my arrival faster and sprinted up the stairs. So it took 2 minutes for me to get in. I come to the front desk and the receptionist informs me that doctor will not see me and they have to reschedule for another day because of 2 minutes. 2 MINUTES! 2 FREAKING MINUTES! Are you kidding me? Never in my life I experienced such a harsh policy and absence of understanding, empathy and compassion. I understand its business and such, but 2 minutes is not 2 hours and even 20 minutes... Well... I am shocked. Thats all I can say.
Excellent experience at Tia in Silverlake! 10/10 overall, friendly and knowledgeable staff that makes you feel comfortable immediately! Shoutout to Kate and Brandy for being so welcoming and helpful!
I’m blown away at how kind and wholistic the approach is here. I’ve had a one medical membership for 2 years, and although that’s been convenient, nothing compares to the care you receive at Tia. The women’s health specialist Kate is great! The team knows how to make you feel safe, heard, cared for in a way I haven’t experienced before.
EDIT #2: It’s 2023 and Tia is still trying to get me back as a patient with their glossy social media ads, and email reminders for a “friendly check-up”🙄 Avoid like the plague!!! This company straight-up gives Theranos/Elizabeth Holmes vibes!EDIT #1: The response below from Tia is misleading. In the last year since I started going with them for my primary health care, I have never been seen by a doctor. All of the virtual and in-person visits Ive had have either been with a CNM or NP. You are better off going to a REAL medical facility, with licensed doctors that will handle your exams and procedures. Please look up the negative Yelp reviews for their NY location as well. Its not just this clinic location that has problems - its the entire company.Fair warning to everyone considering this healthcare provider: Tia does not live up to their glittery social media ads and catchy female, millennial-targeted marketing. Their Siverlake clinic in Los Angeles is under-staffed, barely has qualified staff really to explain anything to you, will rush you through exams, mess up referrals for needed outside medical exams, and is both callous and insensitive on how they will handle your healthcare. But they are very quick to charge you your membership fees and charge your insurance for a full, annual checkup even if you just did a quick virtual consultation with them. An aesthetically-pleasing clinic, free tea and other drinks, and some Instagram photos taken at any of their locations is not worth getting sub-par, half-a**ed medical care. Save your money and research another provider. They are nothing but another money-hungry company masking themselves as caring about womens overall health and self-care. I know all of these are true because I speak from very recent experiences. Please avoid them if you value your health!
I appreciated the doctor and their thoroughness but this location is not at all accessible. The marketing for this company makes it seem like accessibility is a priority, but I drove all the way from Long Beach and there is no parking. Upon arriving, I was greeted by someone telling me that normally they’d charge for being 10 minutes late (I was 8 minutes late after driving and hour and finding parking ) which didn’t exactly make me feel welcome. All in all, I don’t see the difference between this and a regular doctors office to be quite frank except marketing
DO NOT USE FOR MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES--ESPECIALLY IF YOU NEED STIMULANT MEDICATION!They no longer offer stimulants like Adderall to their patients with ADHD. In the past when they did, I had to wait nearly 2 months for a mental health appointment. I was between prescription refills and was forced to go cold-turkey on my medication during this time--leading to very unfavorable, new side effects such as panic attacks--which got so bad that they lead to a dissociative episode. Something Id never experienced before in my life. When I did finally seek out therapy for treating my ADHD, it initially took them over a month just to see me. Before my first session, the therapist I was appointed to cancelled without informing me or anyone else. I was left sitting there in an empty Zoom meeting for 30minutes after ALREADY waiting over a month to be seen. When I was eventually seen, they informed me at the end of two sessions that I wouldnt be a good fit for whoever they appointed me to, as this therapist wasnt specially trained in treating ADHD.....even though I had previously specifically requested this before anyone was appointed to me.As for the actual session with the specialist in question (I think they were just a social worker, not even a licensed therapist), I was left INCREDIBLY disappointed. I have received more empathy, support and solutions from venting to friends than I did with this therapist. The first consultation session began super awkwardly with minimal introduction on her part. I couldnt even tell you her credentials because she didnt bother to inform me much about herself nor her background. The second session followed in that same vein of awkwardness: she jumped on the Zoom call, stared at me for a while, then said something along the lines of, So whats up? Whats the problem?.....I guess she expected me to lead the session....?The session only got worse from there. It was clear she was just sitting there listening to me vent until the timer ran out and couldnt actually care about me or anything that I had to say. She would constantly repeat the same lines to me whenever I said anything: Wow that mustve been really hard for you. What else happened? Yeah that sounds terrible. Wow.She then abruptly ended the session at 45min with no prior warning on how long the session would go or what solutions she could provide for me. I was in the middle of telling a very traumatic and embarrassing story only for her to callously cut me off and end the session at 45min sharp. At that point she told me she couldnt help me if I was seeking help for my ADHD. All of this for $360. I left that appointment seriously questioning the competency of this specialist and Tia as a whole. Then I was told I would be put on a waitlist to see someone for ADHD, which would take about 2-3 months (which they never followed up with me for).A few months later in October they then informed me that they would no longer be offering stimulants as medication for ADHD, and I officially no longer had any use for their services.Their in-person office is lovely and clean and welcoming, their general health and wellness services are quick, and for primary care concerns like STD checks, physicals, antibiotics, etc.--theyre great. But truthfully, theyre basically a glorified urgent care.
Tia is the most humanizing healthcare experience Ive ever had! I voluntarily drove 4 hours through LA traffic to have a procedure done with Tia. No insurance? No worries - theres a transparent list of prices. Nervous? The nursing staff will listen and answer your questions. Medical trauma? The doctors are clear about whats happening and asking consent. Clinic is nice, clean, and modern - with some nice touches for the millennial woman seeking healthcare. HIGHLY recommend.
Update - this place has literally been stealing my money for 11 months now. Every months I’ve been charged $15 for a membership I cancelled from day one for the reason below. I’ve talked to them multiple times, they apologize and offer to refund the full year and then turn around and still charge me and only refunded 2 months. It’s insane! I’m wondering if it’s part of their business model at this point after looking at more reviews. The clinic is beautiful! It’s so clean, modern and the staff is nice but any testing or bloodwork takes 10-14 days for results which is unfortunately not a realistic turnaround. I hope they are able to improve this timeline and would be happy to return as a patient.
We will be canceling our membership at Tia, they can’t figure out how to get on the phone with a pharmacy to refill a prescription. Being subscribed to Tia has created a lot more problems in our life than necessary. I do not recommend.
Drove an hour to get to my appointment stuck in early morning LA traffic, called on my way to let them know I was running late and they told me that it was okay the physician would still see me. When I arrived they told me that they’re going to have to cancel and that I will be charged for my appointment. I would have turned around when I had called if they were upfront with me about cancelling my appointment then.Additionally, the physician I saw a week prior was barely able to answer any of my questions.Poor staff, uninformed physicians.
Tia poses itself as an accessible healthcare alternative for women. Both in my virtual care call, and my in person appointment — I expressed that I was low income and uninsured. In both cases, I was reassured that there would be no hidden costs, that I was in good hands. Even though withIn the last year I had my bloodwork done and I had turned those results over to Tia, I was encouraged to get my blood work done again, and to have a urine culture. I expressed again that I was low income and uninsured and was told not to worry. At most, this might be a few hundred dollars, even when I checked out, the receptionist assured me that they let Quest know I was uninsured and that my bill would not be very high. A week later, I received my Quest Bill and was shocked to see it was over $2,000 — and what it said is that I was deficient in vitamin B and D, I have been a vegetarian since age 13 and could have told you that myself. When I reached out to Tia to see how this could have happened, it took over three weeks for them to respond and let me know that my bill was likely accurate as I am uninsured. I really feel that Tia is a predatory scam company that preys on women looking for alternative options to healthcare — likely the women who go are ones who haven’t had positive experience with traditional healthcare — like me. The way they act like compassionate and understanding practitioners hides what they really are. I do not recommend coming to Tia because the hidden costs are enormous, as a low income person, 2,000$ amounts to a months rent, it’s unreasonable for routine bloodwork and a urine culture. And while Quest is the one sending the bill — Tia is who put me in a position to believe that I was getting tests done at a reasonable cost. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this fake scam of a healthcare clinic that is nothing but like any other medical fraud laden with hidden costs, and incapable of caring for the needs of its patients.
Best doctor’s appointment I’ve ever had! Gorgeous office, friendly staff and doctors that make you feel so comfortable and welcome. No creepy paper robes is a plus and a cute living room (waiting room) makes it even better. This is how healthcare should be.
I was so excited about this facility but was soon very disappointed with a couple different things. I was a cash patient so I was meticulous in making sure I asked what every little thing cost, and when I asked for a specific hormone test to be run they did everything BUT that one and I was going to have to take time out of my day to go back and draw blood for it when I live clear on the other side of town. And they tried to bill me for it when it was their mistake!!Then I had conflicting diagnosis from both NPs so from there on out I had little trust in them and their knowledge of anything! They kept telling me they would discuss with the head doctor and get to the bottom of it but they never did and I eventually just cancelled my membership after waiting weeks for anyone to get back to me. I think its an ok place if you just want a basic check up or something but I would be sure to check your billing, and be very clear on what youre getting. I think they have good intentions but they are just disorganized and theres a lot of miscommunication behind the scenes. Problem is- this is peoples health they are dealing with so getting conflicting diagnosis information is super detrimental.
Please check with your insurance before going here that their services are in-network. Tia will tell you they accept your insurance and turn around and bill you for everything. I wouldn’t recommend.
I really really wanted to like Tia. I have had One Medical previously but I liked that Tia was women focused and was also a little cheaper than a One Medical membership so I decided to go with TIA this year and I have lots of regrets.1. there is no way to get in touch with a real person or get simple basic information on an immediate basis. Their chat responses have a 48hr response time which is RIDICULOUS. I simply wanted to transfer my prescription from one pharmacy to another and this process has been taking all day, back and forth over their messaging system which is not even live. so you send a message, then wait hours or days till u get a response then wait again after you reply. Its really defeating the purpose for which TIA is made and Ive foudn it incredibly cumbersome and inconvenient. This wouldve been a single phone call at One Medical or at a regular doctors office.2. their mental health medication management is a hoax. I waited an entire month for my psych appointment only to be told that they are not able to prescribe controlled medication. I waited a WHOLE MONTH for this appointed even after previously confirming with their team that this was possible.3. Dont waste your time here and spend your money here its not worth it. Just go wtih One Medical.
Absolutely the sweetest people who really go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable. A few years ago I went through a very stressful obgyn experience that made me hyper-critical and apprehensive of any womens care space. In the month or so that Ive been with Tia, both their in-person and online services have made me feel so at ease and feeling in the right hands :)
DO NOT GO HERE!!! I was uninsured and got a physical here bc Tia advertises itself as having a flat fee that you pay them if you are uninsured for services like a routine physical. They make it sound like everything is up front with no extra costs. Well I just received a bill from Quest for $1100 (6 months later) after Tia applied their “discount”. It’s disgusting that a company is taking advantage of people who aren’t insured by luring them under false pretenses of no hidden fees and then leaves them with huge bills for basic bloodwork. I will be seeking legal counsel about this because what they are doing can’t be legal.
Nothing but bad experiences here. Made an appointment for what the website says was in clinic care, turned up and the appt was virtual. They did blood work and sent the wrong results and a bunch of patronising handouts, if they had questioned me or read my medical history they would have seen I have genetic condition which means I require different care. Made an in person appointment at the clinic only to find it wasn’t properly scheduled by the coordinator- this clinic is a mess.
As the other reviews suggest, this place is completely fraudulent. The marketing is a scam that preys on the desire for understanding female-centric health care. I dont want to post the details of my experience publicly but it will suffice to say that all of the other reviews calling out this place are entirely accurate. During the whole health exam, they didnt tell me to fast before blood work was taken, then proceeded to misread my chart and misdiagnose me with something that no one bothered to look at or run a lab test on. I was charged for all of these errors. This is an extremely dangerous business hiding behind pink branding. Avoid at all cost.
The staff was overall super knowledgeable and friendly. Brandy made me feel especially comfortable, not an easy task when she’s drawing my blood.
I’m so happy I found this place!!! I normally hate going to the doctors for anything, so when it was time for my first pap smear I tried to find a more comfortable place to go. The environment here is sooo nice and relaxing, the staff is super kind, the doctor made me feel really cared for and covered all the bases!! They have snacks, drinks, comfy robes, socks, and a gorgeous lounge/balcony to hang in while you wait. I don’t normally write reviews for anything but that’s how happy I am with my experience!!!
Avoid this place. You just end up seeing a network of NPs and the care is inconsistent at best. They are constantly changing their mental health insurance policy and I’ve been told I cannot use my insurance for therapy starting in January. I also experienced several racial micoagressions my last in-clinic visit. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
This place feels so sketchy and illegal. Their insta ads are about the CBD water you can drink before your gynecologist appointment. Not about payment plans, not about why how they approach healthcare. I don’t go to a doctor’s office for cute furniture. They got it all wrong. Do your research before you book an appointment.
The space is obviously well-designed and modern. The service was great from beginning to end. The location, though, is not that convenient and was not super obvious how to get to the office. Also, would highly recommend the company get an actual app instead of needing to use a phone number to sign into your account on a web browser every time–this part is not so great.
This is a great concept but they really need to get it together. It is very hard to get an appointment or to contact a real person. I did one consultation, out of pocket since they dont take my insurance. What a waste of money. Ive been trying to cancel my membership since last year and they still charge me every month. Dont bother. Its definitely not worth it.
Horrible if you need to see a real doctor. I’ve only spoken with NPs who are unfamiliar with my history and if I actually need something, it takes at least 4 days to get an appointment and to talk to a legitimate physician. They’re also super strict with their late policy so if you happen to be late (even if you drove for 40 minutes, called in advance to say you might be late, and pulled over for a minute because you were sick, you will not be given any grace). Awful healthcare
Brandy L has such warm energy and made my experience so pleasant! She took her time to get to know me and brighten my day, thank you thank you!
I didn’t even make it into the clinic my virtual new patient appointment was awful. I tried calling/messaging Tia but couldn’t get a hold of anyone. I immediately cancelled my membership. I love the marketing of this place but I realized that’s all it is…marketing.
I wish I can say good things about this place but I find it difficult to get a hold of someone to explain and walk me through the membership and what it covers. I have tried to call several times and it always goes to voice mail. I have left messages but no body calls back. If this is how they handle potential new clients then I dont want to know how they care for their existing patients.
Honestly shocked at reading the negative comments on here and I hope those people have found the answers they were looking for but I have never felt so secure and cared about at another healthcare facility before. As someone with trauma from being in and out of the hospital/doctors offices, it’s taxing going through different primaries/psychiatrists and has a huge part in my anxiety. Ive been with Tia for about a month now and have only experienced accepting and realistic care, thank you so much
Love everything about this place. Amazing staff, compassionate providers. Super cute space with tons of thoughtful touches. Wonderful group of people who genuinely care about the female-identifying community and want to make a positive difference in the field of women’s health. If you’re looking for a new OB/GYN, acupuncturist, or PCP, check out Tia! More info on their Instagram if you’re curious (@asktia) ❤️
I have had a wonderful experience both virtually and in person. I feel like the care providers really listen and I received quick responses when messaging their care team. I’m very happy to have found Tia.
There’s so much I can say about this experience. So blown away by how kind and attentive each of the staff members are. They did not shame me in to feeling like i was some plus size loser who needs to lose weight etc. I just want to thank them for everything today and know you have me for life!
Wonderful experience here so far. every single person that worked at the clinic was kind, gentle, polite and caring. the space is beautiful and clean and approachable and light and airy. highly recommend.
This place is awful its nearly impossible to get someone on the phone. Theres no way for you to have any communication with Drs you have people at the front desk who have no way of properly communicating with physicians which makes things extremely frustrating when trying to troubleshoot problems.
Don’t walk, run to your local Tia! It’s an amazing and extremely professional environment where they take your health seriously.
NO OPTIONS for low income women. Doesn’t take medi-cal, extremely high copays. In a time where women’s healthcare should be free and straightforward, Tia is doing all the wrong things. DONT COME HERE
Such a comfortable environment. They walked me through everything they were doing. Answered all my questions. The robes are incredible, I would buy 5 if I was able to buy them.
Pleasant experience as always. Brandy did an amazing job today and I was finished before I knew it!
Recently went to Tia and it was truly one of the best healthcare experiences I’ve had in a very long time.I put a glimpse of my experience over on my instagram @connectwithoumou for folks that wanna see :)
Very nice & clean inside. Everyone was very helpful and quick with results. Would definitely recommend trying this clinic out if you have had not so great experiences at regular health clinics.
Enjoyed the entire process. I would say maybe a little more direction on getting into the building, other than that everything was great! I didn’t have to wait at all for anything. Everyone was very nice and welcoming!
Had such a great experience at Tia! Everyone was so kind and helpful. It’s decorated so beautifully and makes you feel super comfortable.
Avoid avoid avoid! This place is nothing but a shady business hidden under the guise of millennial branding and false claims of caring about patients. They incorrectly billed my insurance - the 10 minute they Zoom THEY require to discuss your medical history was billed as a full on annual physical to my insurance. The thing is I decided to go elsewhere (I didnt like that Tia didnt have an actual dr for me to see for my appointment) and see a different doctor for my annual so when they billed me, my insurance said I already had a physical with Tia and I must pay UCLA Health $600. Only thing is, I never had a physical with Tia, just a useless 10 minute Zoom session.I called Tia about this and received an apology and promises that theyd fix the billing/coding. I initially made contact with them in July and I now write this review in October with the problem still unsolved. I keep getting told theyre talking to billing, theyre fixing it, theyll call me etc. No one ever calls me and now my emails are being ignored. Ill call them and get told everyone is in a meeting and cant speak right now. My insurance called last week and also got told theyll fix it by the top of next week.... aaaand still theres nothing. They kept claiming they were talking to my insurance and Aetna said they had never been contacted by them for my claim. Luckily, my insurance is going to get supervisors involved etc and try to take it off my plate, but its still been an absolute nightmare to deal with. Also, I got told they wouldnt be charging me anymore membership fees due to their mistake and yet I still got charged. Rina has ignored my email about that as well. Attached a couple of screenshots of her emails that are complete and utter BS. Its October 13, 2021 and she has still solved nothing.
Beautiful facility I only have to go into a few times per year - however, their billing problems are giant headache that I have to constantly stay on top of in the case that I get double charged for therapy visits.
Thank you so much to the Tia team at silver lake you guys make me feel so welcomed whenever I come in for an exam etc.we appreciate all that you do and continue doing for the communitySending an positive vibes and lots of love to the Tia silver lake team- Keasha Luna
Diana was very friendly and informative! Im very glad she was my provider today and hope to see her again.
The best care Ive received in years! The staff is great and truly listens to me which I appreciate so much beyond words.
10/10 experience they actually care about your well being and talk you about your health and explain everything to you. Great experience, bonus cute little waiting area overall nice clean clinic:)
Nice ambiance however cancelling your membership is nearly impossible and theyll continue to charge you.
Brandy was simply amazing. Quick, engaging and friendly!
The most thoughtful and informed doctors appointment I’ve ever been too. Thank you.
Love
My friend is now unable to get her meds refilled because you all no longer do that but only gave a 1 month warning ??
This place has changed. I may be going back to traditional healthcare.
Love it so welcoming and professional amazing 1st time experience !
