Truly worth the wait. Our family now of three could not count on any medical team worth deserving credits than the team here at KFI. They are passionate, knowledgeable, and professional in every aspect. I trust Dr Hunter and Yilena’s medical expertise completely.
Dr. Hunter provided us with excellent guidance and helped us feel confident in making decisions at every step of the way. On top of that, the entire KFI team always made us feel welcomed, comfortable asking questions, and cared for. We are so pleased that we chose this talented and compassionate team to be part of our journey. Well miss everyone now that we have been dismissed to our OB and will always remain grateful for their help growing our family. Thank you, KFI! -Lindsay and Liz
Our favorite thing about Kentucky Fertility Institute is their ability to communicate with their patients. You dont realize how valuable this is until you have been with a clinic that is terrible at communication - like we had experienced earlier that year. After two years of no luck conceiving, my husband and I landed at KFI. At the first appointment we both felt really confident that Dr. Hunter and his team were who we wanted to help us get through our fertility journey. We were really confident in the plan we had set in place, and I felt like we were truly listened to at our appointment and all of our concerns were appropriately addressed. However, our journey was cut short because I got pregnant before we could even start treatment!Even though we had not been patients at KFI very long, Dr. Hunter still supported us in early pregnancy up to 9 weeks... including several ultrasounds and checking bloodwork as needed. It was really comforting and brought us a lot of peace of mind to know someone was monitoring the progression of my pregnancy and there to answer questions before moving on to our midwife at 12 weeks. If we need the help of a fertility clinic in the future, we will most definitely return to KFI!
Dr. Hunter got to the root cause of why we were having a hard time conceiving and then developed a treatment plan. His team kept me informed of every step along the way.I highly recommend him for anyone looking for support with fertility treatment. The journey is tough and having someone that is knowledgeable and knows how to effectively address challenges is key.Now we have our rainbow baby and she’s everything we’ve ever wanted. Our family is so grateful to Dr. Hunter and his team.
How do you write a review for the people that changed your life? I dont have the words to properly convey the gratitude and utmost respect I have for the wonderful people here at KFI. Infertility is one of the worst things a woman can go through but having a well-oiled, functioning and supportive team like those at KFI can make a world of a difference. We began seeking help from KFI before we were even patients, and it was their NP, Yllena, who eventually won our trust and helped us make the switch to their clinic. Throughout our time there as patients, Yllena held our hands, cheered us on, and most importantly, believed in my body when I couldnt. She answered my many, many questions at all hours of the day. She encouraged me to be patient and keep believing. She continuously went above and beyond what a provider would typically do. She advocated for me when I needed it most. To this day, she continues to support me and my myriad of questions even after graduating from their clinic. KFI truly has a gem of a provider in Yllena.I would be remiss not to mention the world-class expertise, knowledge, and care that Dr. Hunter provides. Though he often comes across as reserved to many, that shouldnt take away from the exceptional care he provides. We had a very unconventional and difficulty fertility journey, and I still remember the time Dr. Hunter carved out for us late at night to have a very realistic yet supportive, almost 2 hour phone- conversation with me and my husband after devastating news came to light. He answered many late night emails with evidence based support and more importantly, gentle reassurance entwined with dry humor.Lastly, I cant emphasize how every single staff member at KFI functions to support their patients as a TEAM. Everyone from the front-desk staff to the phlebotomist to the nurses, medical assistants and of course, their incredible embryology team, is top-notch. For everyone new to the journey, please be reassured that you are in excellent hands at KFI. They become your biggest supporters, and even more, they eventually become family. I couldnt recommend them enough!
We had a wonderful experience with Dr. Hunter and his team from the start. They make you feel welcomed and provided us with hope. After struggling with infertility, we finally got answers. I’m now holding my 3 month old in my arms because of KFI. Thank you KFI!!!
I cant say enough great things about Dr. Hunter and his staff. Throughout the whole process everyone was kind and understanding of the emotional struggle that comes with infertility, they helped us make informed decisions about our treatment and never pushed one option over another. Everyone was very professional, easy to talk with, and above all full of positive encouragement everytime we came to a bump in the road. I can not thank the KFI team enough for treating us like a family while we were growing ours.
We would absolutely recommend Dr Hunter and the team at KFI.We used KFI for our first baby in 2020 while still living in Kentucky and had a wonderful experience with Dr Hunter and the KFI team. After moving to Australia in 2021, we decided it was time to extend our family in early 2022 and decided that we would travel back to Kentucky from Australia to work with Dr Hunter and the KFI team again. From the beginning they were fantastic and we felt they really understood the physical, mental and financial magnitude of what we were trying to do. From the front desk staff, to the nurses and Dr Hunter himself, everyone we dealt with at KFI was friendly, understanding and supportive of our stressful journey - they were flexible in scheduling telehealth appointments prior to us leaving Australia and the team did everything they could to make our second experience with KFI as positive as our first. We were fortunate enough to welcome our second KFI baby in May this year and could never thank the KFI team enough for everything they did for us!
Thanks to KFI my wife and I are at the hospital welcoming our newborn son into the world. It would not have happened without Dr. Hunter and his staff. Every step of the way they were always available to answer questions even late at nights and on weekends. We can never thank them enough.
Thank you Dr. Hunter, Nurse Candy, and the entire staff at the Kentucky Fertility Institute for helping me to make my dream come true. I am holding my rainbow baby right now as I am typing this review.I went to a different fertility clinic prior to seeing Dr. Hunter and the other clinic was pushing for IVF at the very first meeting. However, Dr. Hunter took a different approach and we started on medication and IUI. It was less stressful.I cannot say how much the entire staff at KFI has helped my family and I through the tough time when dealing with infertility. They are friendly and listened to all my concerns.Thank you KFI!
I cant say enough good things about Dr. Hunter and his staff, especially Candy, Nicole, Yllena, and Kathy (really everyone is wonderful! These are the individuals I worked with the most!) Dr. Hunter is one of the most thorough providers I have ever worked with. I can say with confidence I never felt rushed during my appointments and felt like all of my concerns were important/validated. One of the stand out things about Dr. Hunter is his response time to e-mails; so fast! As someone who works in healthcare, I appreciate knowing that my questions/concerns will be answered in a timely manner and he did not disappoint. The staff at KFI quickly felt like family and appear to authentically care for their patients. I never felt like fees of procedures/packages were difficult to understand and felt well informed after our IVF consultation. My husband and I are so thankful for our experience with KFI and are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our baby boy this December! Thank you all so much!
We have a baby thanks to Dr. Hunter and his staff!! Everything felt right each step of the way. They treated us like a patient and a friend. Not like a bilfold or a purse. Highly highly highly recommend if your having fertility issues.
Everyone at KFI is incredibly friendly and helpful. From my first appointment to my graduation appointment I was always pleased with my care from everyone. Dr. Hunter is truly amazing and I always felt like he had my best interest. I never felt pushed to do anything and always had time to ask as many questions as I needed to. He is quick to respond to emails or phone calls as well. I am so thankful for Dr. Hunter and KFI. I can’t wait to go back to them for Baby #2. I would highly recommend KFI!
We had the most amazing experience with Dr. Hunter and his staff. I have never had a doctor communicate so effectively and efficiently. I had tons of questions throughout our IVF experience; Dr. Hunter, Candy, Carol and Yllena answered emails and phone calls in the evenings and even on weekends! I always felt heard, and respected. I’ll never forget when Dr. Hunter and the nurses called me to let me know I was pregnant again! Their cheers and tears made me feel like they were just as invested as we were; we felt so supported and loved. Becoming pregnant again after 2 early losses brought so much anxiety and fear; Dr. Hunter always made time to address those fears and made me feel at ease.Overall, the quality of care at KFI is second to none. I’m so thankful that our journey brought us to KFI; thanks to them, we now have a sweet baby girl who brings us pure joy to our days. They’ve changed our lives in every wonderful way and my heart just flows with so much gratitude for everything Dr. Hunter and his crew at KFI did to make our dream of having a family a reality!
Dr Hunter was wonderful. He was incredibly thorough and personable. After 4.5 years of infertility, we got pregnant on our first cycle at KFI and my 3 month old is sitting next to me as I write this. The entire office navigated the pandemic flawlessly, and I always felt safe during my visits. They were fantastic at keeping me posted as things changed so rapidly and what could have been scary and uncertain seemed navigable thanks to their competence and communication.
I think it’s safe to say that KFI knows what it’s doing! Our little boy arrived 8/8 and was most definitely worth the wait! We are so grateful for Dr. Hunter and the rest of the incredible team at KFI! Dr. Hunter and Carol made sure to talk us through each step and to help us to explore all of our options - making us feel assured in our treatment decisions. We had previously worked with another center while living in Virginia, going through multiple IUI cycles with them, and KFI offered a completely different (and much welcomed) experience. The office made themselves readily available to us and promptly answered any questions or concerns we had as we went through IVF/FET and made us feel well cared for and supported during the first trimester. We will definitely be return customers!
I’m a fairly new patient of KFI, but I have been extremely pleased with my experience with them so far! KFI was my second opinion clinic, and I am SO grateful I made the switch. They welcomed me in with open arms and they never make me feel like just “another patient”. What really sets KFI apart from many other clinics is the staff. Dr. Hunter is very proactive and eager to help. Yllenna performed my ultrasound once and was so friendly, explained everything thoroughly and made the experience much easier. Also, any time I call KFI and have to leave a message, Candy has always been incredibly quick to get back in touch with me and always willing to answer any questions I might have. So very thankful for Kentucky Fertility Institute and I have faith that they will help my husband and I achieve our dreams of starting a family!
My wife and I tried for several years to have a baby. We tried clinics in other states where we lived, and we never found the time and attention given to us that we did at KFI. Doctor Hunter and his team gave us personalized attention that made a difficult process a lot easier. We enjoyed the staff immensely. They kept us well informed, and they explained the process every step of the way. As a military family that is constantly having to move and adapt this process couldn’t have been any easier. I have a handful of friends going through infertility struggles and I have recommended KFI to all of them. Dr. Hunter should be immensely proud of his work. We had our daughter on 4/22/2022. We wouldn’t have her if not for KFI. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you KFI staff and Dr. Hunter.
I imagine reviews of a fertility clinic are often 5 stars if the patient had a successful pregnancy and zero stars from heartbroken couples who did not have such luck. But, I remember thinking mid procedure, “no matter what happens I am so glad I found Dr Hunter, nurse Carol, and this team.”Once you find yourself in capable hands you can breath a bit deeper, and relax into the process a little more fully. That was our experience with Dr Hunter & his staff. We knew a set of brilliant minds were laser focused on helping us. Finally not feeling like a number. Finally feeling like someone actually looked at your chart before they walked in the room. It gives you hope during a time when hope can start to feel hard to find.Every staff member I met was educated, helpful, and compassionate. From reception, to phlebotomists, embryologists, assistants, billing, to one fabulous nurse Carol. They are a team of smart individuals in a taxing job, showing up with a smile for you every day. It was always so appreciated.
I have only good things to say about this practice!! My husband and I switched to KFI after being unsatisfied with another fertility clinic in town. We couldnt have been happier with the switch. Both doctors at KFI are absolutely wonderful (we mainly saw Dr. Justice but also saw Dr. Hunter on occasion) and we always felt like we were receiving the best care possible. Everyone on staff is very kind, compassionate, super responsive when you call/email/have questions. We always felt comfortable and both doctors took more than enough time to listen to our concerns, answer questions, and explain things to us. We never felt rushed with either doctor, which we appreciated SO much. The facility itself is very clean and did not feel like a doctors office. Ive recommended KFI to several friends. Highly highly recommend!!!!
After 3 recurrent miscarriages, I decided to visit Dr. Hunter for additional advice. I knew a girl who visited this office after a similar situation and figured it couldn’t hurt. For me, the anxiety of getting pregnant and losing another baby seemed too much to bear without advice from an expert in fertility related matters. Initially I researched offices in the area and kind of just decided to visit Dr. Hunter because his office was most convenient to me and I had one acquaintance who’d had success and positive things to say.Dr. Hunter met with my husband and I on a video chat at the beginning of the pandemic. He remains one of the best listeners I’ve ever talked with, especially in the medical field. He acknowledged all my concerns, addressed all my questions quickly and with scientific information to support his answers, and still maintained human empathy and feelings.Ultimately, he offered several different plans but mostly he offered encouragement and monitoring for an anxious patient. Although I got pregnant naturally, Kentucky Fertility served a very important role in how my pregnancy progressed. I am happy to report that I just gave birth to our baby girl last week. Without the support of Dr. Hunter and his team, weekly ultrasounds, and reassuring advice, I don’t believe the stress and anxiety of pregnancy would have been possible for me.Dr. Hunter is a humble man, with great care for his patients, strong desire to help, and sincerity. I can’t say enough great things about this practice. The support staff (lab technicians, front desk staff, nurses, etc.) are all equally as kind. Their care makes you feel as if the growth of your family is as important to them as it is to you.
I felt so at home at KFI that I didn’t want to leave to go back to my regular OB.Dr. Hunter & his team are compassionate and caring, and they want you to have a successful pregnancy just as much as you do.When our first egg retrieval was unsuccessful, I felt like Dr. Hunter was just as frustrated as me. He immediately went back to the drawing board. This time, it worked, and I just recently gave birth to my first baby.I can’t thank KFI enough for their kindness and care during one of the most challenging times of my life.
Kentucky Fertility Institute is one of the most prestigious offices I have ever been to. Getting started with fertility treatments was a hard thing to swallow, but once I was successfully pregnant and graduated from them I told Dr. Hunter I was super sad to not be coming to them anymore, he laughed and said well we are happy to see you go because that means you are having a success story. I am not 34 weeks pregnant with my rainbow baby after having four traumatic losses. I cant say enough nice things about the clinic, they were so responsive 7 days a week. And even saw me on Saturdays and Sundays. They were beyond graceful with me and my husband and beyond accommodating.
Words cannot describe how thankful we are with the staff at KFI! Everyone there is very knowledgeable and focused on giving all patients quality care while making you feel like you are part of the family. Dr. Hunter is very talented and I can assure you that he will review your history to come up with a plan that works best for you. While they may start cycles in groups, they don’t focus on ensuring everyone has the same retrieval date like many fertility clinics do, instead they go by your body’s response which ultimately results in better outcome. I am currently 22 weeks pregnant with my baby girl and although I think we may be done having kids, it’s nice to know that KFI are keeping a handful of embabies safe 😊KFI are making families’ dreams come true! Don’t think twice, it’s worth the wait.
We had a great experience with Dr Hunter and Kentucky Fertility Institute. We did one round of IVF in Cincinnati but were unsuccessful and found that process to be impersonal and didn’t have the greatest experience. We came to KFI and received personalized treatment that ultimately was successful. Dr Hunter listened to our concerns and was always available to discuss our plan and to offer input or guidance. We ultimately were successful in bringing or daughter into the world with Dr Hunters help and for that we will always be grateful. Can’t say enough great things about the office, nurses, scheduling staff, ultrasound techs and Dr Hunter himself. We recommend to everyone in Louisville (and the Midwest)
I can never say enough good things about KFI and Dr. Hunter. His persistence paid off, and we finally had our miracle baby in January 2018. We were so lucky to have additional frozen embryos which resulted in baby #2 in September 2020 (the bright spot in a very sad year). The team at KFI treated us with respect and kindness, and we always felt like we were at home when we went in. If you are trying to decide where to go for fertility treatment, you wont be disappointed!
Dr. Hunter and staff were incredibly knowledgable, helpful, and sensitive to our fertility needs. They were responsive and walked us through such an uncharted and painful reality. My husband and I trusted their care and are so excited to welcome our newest addition in less than a month! While infertility is not what we want to have to live with, were thankful for KFI and Dr. Hunter and look forward to working with them again in the near future.
Dr. Hunter was so great to work with. I had been going to a different clinic with no success for over a year. I got pregnant on the first round of treatment at Dr. Hunters clinic and now have a happy and sweet little baby boy. I didnt have to do anything extensive so Im sure that process is much different but Dr. Hunter was very clear about the path that would be best for me and it gave me a lot of reassurance to know I was with someone capable. If I have to do any fertility treatments in the future, I will absolutely be returning to the Kentucky Fertility Institute.
I don’t have enough kind words to say about Kentucky Fertility Institute. Throughout the course of our treatment, we were treated with nothing but comforting care, professionalism, and (in my opinion, most importantly) honesty. Working with Dr. Hunter and his team made a very difficult process somehow a little easier to endure. We welcomed a beautiful baby boy in February and have KFI to thank! Highly recommend!
We have two children thanks to KFI and IVF. Our experience with infertility was handled compassionately and professionally at KFI. Dr. Hunter was very responsive to questions and listened to my concerns. Once we found the protocol that worked for baby #1, we were able to replicate it for baby #2 and everything went very smoothly. Very happy with our experience.
My husband and I have now graduated from KFI twice and I can’t say enough good things about them! Unlike many doctors offices you feel like a real person at KFI, not just another number. When we started our journey we were terrified, but the entire team welcomed us and made us feel comforted and loved. We were blessed with our son after a successful round of IVF!We recently went back in December and transferred another one of our embryos and we are now expecting our daughter to arrive in August 2021.We are so incredibly grateful for Kentucky Fertility Institute!
My time with KFI and Dr. Hunter was by far the best medical experience I have ever had. My Husband and I had been trying to conceive for 3 years, and had recently moved to Kentucky when we first made our appointment at KFI. Being that we were not familiar with the area, we took a gamble, and decided to do a consultation with Dr. Hunter, to determine if we wanted to use KFI to expand our family. I am so glad we did. Their attention to every detail of our care, from consultations, to diagnostics and treatments, was handled with a level of compassion that made the incredibly difficult journey of infertility, easier to bear. Because of KFI we now have a beautiful daughter, and because of KFI I will be forever grateful to have made that first consultation.
Dr. Hunter and the entire KFI staff were fantastic to work with. Infertility is a sensitive matter, but I never felt uncomfortable throughout this process. I am thankful that my obgyn referred me to wonderful practice so I could make my dreams of being a mother a reality. If you are struggling with infertility, I would recommend them with complete confidence.
We had only good experiences at Kentucky Fertility Institute. Dr Hunter and his team are very professional and knowledgeable about any kind of fertility issues. We came here from another local provider where we were not satisfied with the care. At KFI we always felt like being in good hands, everybody is very kind, helpful. The communication is easy and they respond quickly. Their office has a nice and welcoming atmosphere and they have modern equipment.
My husband and I cannot thank Dr. Hunter and all of the wonderful staff at KFI enough for their work in helping us to become a family of three! Our son was born May 2, 2021 following a successful IVF frozen embryo transfer. Dr. Hunter was so thorough, supportive, confident and patient while we were under his care and restored hope that we would be able to become parents. His dedication to his patients was even more apparent during COVID because he advocated for continued treatment following strict guidelines and protocols which made us feel safe and confident during the pandemic as well as allowed us not to delay starting a family any longer than necessary. We highly recommend KFI if you are looking for a fertility clinic that provides evidence-based, patient-specific tailored fertility treatments with a staff that truly takes the time to listen and promptly answer all questions or concerns to make your fertility journey as optimal as possible!
The staff is incredibly helpful, caring and quick to respond. I always felt that the team at KFI had my best interests at heart. We started our infertility journey with them in December of 2018. Dr. Hunter was always willing to answer any and all questions my husband and I had, even responding to my email on Christmas Eve and calling in a prescription! Your body doesnt care if its a holiday. He never pushed us to take a specific path of treatment and would just give us honest feedback on what options would render the greatest chance of conception. Our treatment progressed to IVF, I had my embryo transfer in Oct. 2019 and I am due June 26th with our first baby!! I cant say enough wonderful things about KFI, Dr. Hunter, Carol the IVF nurse coordinator and the entire staff. Best of luck to all starting their infertility journey!! KFI is a great place to begin!
There are truly not enough good things to say about Dr. Hunter, his staff and employees, and the practice as a whole! They are absolutely top of the line when it comes to their passion for helping you conceive. From the moment I started going to appointments at KFI I had an overwhelming feeling that I was in good hands and that my dream of becoming a mother would be achieved- sure enough I am now 28 weeks pregnant with a boy due on July 10th. If you are in my situation and felt like your back was against the wall when it came to your fertility then youve come to the right place! I could not recommend KFI enough and will be thanking Dr. Hunter and his team when my baby boy gets here in July!
We sought out Kentucky Fertility Clinic after a rough road with another clinic closer to home. Dr.Hunter made the effort worth it as his primary involvement in treatment is more than we had hope for. He is constantly available to us and has made many after hours phone calls and email to help answer questions. Our nurse Carol is like that family friend that you refer to as you aunt, she is very helpful and charismatic professional. She has also been very available and very much appreciate her caring. Dr. Christensen is very personable and knowledgeable. He has our best interest in mind and has been very helpful and great to deal with. Angie and Sasha have me the appointments and financial aspect less stressful. They aways meet us with a smile and an eager to answer questions. Regardless of our outcome we would have no issues recommending Kentucky Fertility Institute to anyone and hopefully we can be added to their success rate. By far the best experience Ive ever had in medical field a place that makes you feel like family. Thanks to KFI we welcome our son to the world in October of 2018.
My husband and I are forever grateful for Dr. Hunter and the amazing team at KFI. Like many couples suffering from infertility, our journey was filled with many highs and lows. The team at KFI was there for us every step of the way and provided us with the support and care we needed. Dr. Hunter always took time to talk to us about treatment options. When we decided to move forward with IVF, Carol Powers was always available to answers our questions and ease our concerns. KFI made us feel like family and were our biggest supporters throughout our journey to get pregnant. We are excited to welcome our baby boy in April thanks to Dr. Hunter and KFI!
I can’t say enough about Dr. Hunter & his staff. They welcomed us with open arms on our first appt. 2 years ago and after a few failed IUIs, we went through with IVF and are now 6 weeks pregnant! Everyone at KFI is so supportive and there is nowhere else I would have wanted to go through my infertility journey with than with them. They have certainly made dreams come true for my husband and I!
March 2020 a friend urged me to consult a fertility specialist, specifically Dr. Hunter, and it’s been a wild ride ever since. Kentucky Fertility Institute has been such a blessing to our family. We are currently expecting our first child thanks to Dr. Hunter and his team of angels. I always felt complete support and understanding while under his care. Carol, Candy, and Nicole are the sweetest ladies alive and never judged me for asking silly questions or even ugly crying during one of my very first visits 🥴 the day I graduated KFI was one of the most fulfilling but bittersweet days of my life and one I will always remember. I still wish I could remain under Dr. Hunter’s care the remainder of my pregnancy but I know he’s busy blessing other mommas the way he’s blessed me.I believe in KFI wholeheartedly ❤️
I’ve wanted to write this review for a long time, but what do you say about people that made all of your dreams come true? There are no words to accurately describe the standard of care and love that my husband and I received. From late night emails or phone calls, to day of appointments, Dr. Hunter and his staff were so attentive, kind, and compassionate. We are so thankful and will always recommend them!
We are beyond grateful for the team at KFI. They were not only professional, but provided personalized care that made us feel truly taken care of throughout the entire IVF process. Dr. Hunter, as well as the other office staff, went above and beyond in making himself available to answer any concerns or questions we had during the process. We are so lucky to be expecting our first baby this August thanks to KFI!
My partner and I have had fertility treatment (IVF cycles) at three different fertility clinics. Our experience at KFI has been the most impressive in many ways. Not only is the small team personable and kind, but the medical care and treatment we received was superb. We had more success this cycle than previous cycles despite being older. We are a couple weeks away from delivering our son and we will always be thankful for the care we received with the KFI Team!
We spent about 8 months going through treatments before finally getting a positive pregnancy and at 10 weeks pregnant we “graduated” to our obstetrician and it was so hard to say goodbye because I felt like the staff had become my family. So incredibly patient, kind, thorough and just available to talk during such an emotional and difficult process. I would 10/10 recommend Dr. Hunter’s office to anyone seeking help.
We highly recommend KFI and are so grateful for Dr. Hunter and the KFI staff. My eyes were opened learning about all of the options one has if they are struggling with infertility. Dr. Hunter was thorough in examining our personal needs that our fertility journey didn’t have to be as difficult as I feared it could have been. He also provided prompt feedback anytime I had questions throughout the process. We are grateful we went to KFI and highly recommend KFI to anyone who is exploring their fertility options. We were also grateful to welcome our little one this past January! We cannot express how grateful we are to Dr. Hunter and KFI!! Thank you!
I absolutely cannot say enough good things about my experience with the whole team at Kentucky Fertility Institute. Dr. Hunter is both an excellent RE and a fantastic surgeon. I was diagnosed with uterine fibroids in February 2021 after an ER visit for acute urinary retention (AUR). Initially the incident was considered a one off because of how rare it is for fibroids to cause AUR, so my husband and I were cleared to continue trying to conceive again afterwards. But after no success, my second ER visit, and how severe my other symptoms from the fibroid had gotten, we decided to move forward with surgery. I had already been referred to KFI for an HSG earlier in the year and had briefly talked with Dr. Hunter about treatment options for my fibroid then, so based on my positive experience with him and his good reputation, I decided to schedule a consultation. Dr. Hunter and his staff were incredible throughout the entire process. I was lucky enough to be able to get scheduled for my consultation within a month due to a cancellation and Candy (his nurse) was great and worked incredibly hard to get me in for surgery as soon as possible due to the severity of my symptoms. Dr. Hunter is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, thorough, and intentional every time we met about frequently checking in to ensure that he answered all of my questions. The surgery itself went smoothly and he successfully removed my 10+cm fibroid laparoscopically (robotically) while preserving my fertility and maintaining the integrity of my uterus. I am now about 2 weeks post-op and this is honestly the best I have felt physically in years. My husband and I have to wait at least 3 months before trying to conceive again, but I am confident that if we were to continue to have difficulties we would continue receiving top-notch care from KFI until we get pregnant. I will be sure to update this review once that healing period has passed with news on when/if we succeed!
Kentucky Fertility Institute is the best of the best! Not only did they help us grow our family they become our family!! They cared as deeply as we did. They were there every step of the way. I have never trusted a Health care team more. Dr. Hunter and his amazing team are the absolute best! I will never be able to fully express my gratitude for them. Thank you, Kentucky Fertility Institute.
I thank God for having led me to the right path, to be able to make our dream of being parents come true, it was not easy, the truth is not easy, we experienced many feelings but it has been worth it. perseverance, patience, perseverance and above all much love so that it was a dream come true and of course to have been in the best hands, from the best team at the Kentucky Fertility Institute. Thank you very much Dr. Hunter and each one of you. May God bless your hands and continue helping to make dreams come true. here I present my little Arlet ❤️ it was worth the wait 🙏 they are the bests
After an unsuccessful year of careful timing, GYN visits, multiple medications and due to our matured age, we decided to make an appointment with the Kentucky Fertility Institute for a second opinion. The administrative office staff and nurses were always welcoming, they were personable and made me feel like an individual. Reception is well regulated where we never seemed to have an issue with making an appointment or sat through long wait times. Dr. Hunter seems to be a direct but also very professional physician (which I prefer). He was always open to questions, transparent with answers, and made sure to double check before advancing with our care. Thankfully our experience was brief as our IUI procedure worked on the first attempt. We now have a beautiful little boy who arrived on February 14th, 2021. Thanks to the KFI and to Dr Hunter, I now have a forever Valentine.
Dr. Hunter and his amazing team were very straightforward and reassuring all along the process. We felt we were in knowledgeable hands the whole time and we were treated warmly by the whole team. Dr. Hunter made himself available for all questions and always replied very promptly. He was also very thorough in his explanations. The clinic is very modern and has top grade equipment and a sophisticated lab. Prices are reasonable too.Our protocol was successful and I highly recommend him to anybody!!!!
In 2020 it became a reality for me and my husband that we would need to seek fertility treatments if we wanted to start a family of our own. I never imagined going down this path. I also never imagined that we would have the support and expertise of the most incredible staff at KFI. For a journey that is incredibly difficult, Dr. Hunter and his staff make it as easy as they possibly can for us and so many others. I brag about my fertility clinic all the time. As we prepare for our first IVF transfer, I am beyond thankful to know our future is in their hands. The hands of people we trust and the hands of people who have made every visit feel comfortable and hopeful. Thank you, KFI! 🧡
Everyone that we encountered at KFI was absolutely wonderful. As a couple who is struggling with infertility, you can feel so vulnerable. Dr. Hunter and his staff did everything possible to make us feel well cared for and supported, physically and emotionally. They really became like family during the IVF process. When we did get pregnant, they were as excited for us as all of our friends and family. While we were obviously glad to “graduate” from KFI because it meant that we were finally pregnant, we were sad not to see our friends there anymore. Now, we can’t wait to bring our little one into the office to show everyone what they helped create.
I can’t say enough good things about KFI! It was devastating and so scary to learn that we couldn’t become pregnant on our own. From the first time we walked through the doors, the entire staff was so warm and welcoming. After receiving some upsetting news from one of my first tests, Carol gave me a hug and told me that it was just a small bump in the road. She told me that everything would be okay. I’ll always remember how comforting she was during some of the hardest days of our lives. We worked with Dr. Hunter for the most part and he was also wonderful. He gave advice and options for treatment and didn’t push us towards IVF when we weren’t ready. We wanted to try IUI first and although IUI wasn’t our answer, Dr. Hunter supported our wishes to try that first before moving to IVF. Our IVF miracle is now 5 months old and we are so thankful for KFI helping us!
We are very grateful for the quality of care we received at KFI. We highly recommend them! We never felt like a number always felt like we were treated as though we were the clinics only patients. All of our questions were always thoroughly answered and if we had any questions outside of office visits we felt like communication was easily accessible via email. We highly recommend KFI for anyone trying to create and or add to their family.
I would recommend Dr. Hunter and the team at KFI to anyone. They take a patient centered approach and that is invaluable.
Me and my husband have been trying since our last miscarriage in 2017. We decided to go with them for fertility treatment 2021 and within our first try with iui, me and my husband is expecting a baby girl! Dr. Hunter is awesome! He is very easy to be reached and answered all my questions even on weekends!
We loved our time with Dr. Hunter! He was incredibly knowledgeable and approached our situation with patience and care. We were encouraged that our dream of having a baby was most likely going to come true, based on our conversation and plan with Dr. Hunter. We felt so encouraged and hopeful and this was a game changer. I would recommend Dr. Hunter to anyone who is struggling with fertility. Hes not just a great doctor but a kind soul!
I came to KFI after 3 years of trying to conceive after a trisomy miscarriage. We had tried everything including 3 rounds of Femara and 2 rounds of Clomid. We switched doctor offices 4 times after each doctor kept telling us that everything was fine & finally were referred to KFI. What a blessing KFI was. Doctor Hunter is amazing, he will take time to sit down with you and discuss what options are best for your fertility journey and let you as a couple decide what route you want to take. He is available to call anytime of the day or night and will answer an email within minutes. We decided to jump into IVF right away which meant a lot of frequent visits, sometimes twice a week. KFI became a second family and home for my husband and I. Candy, Carol, and Kathy are angels on earth. Each visit I looked at them for reassurance and they never let me down. Kathy would raise my spirits each time she tested my blood levels with encouraging words and positive thoughts. Candy was there through every appointment, and every appointment I would look over at her and she would smile to reassure me everything is going to work out. And Carol, the IVF nurse at KFI, where to begin. This woman is so dedicated to what she does she deserves the world. Even on vacation she was emailing me to ask how I was feeling and if I needed anything. Her work never stops, literally, and I can’t imagine my journey without her. I will never forget the look she had on her face during my embryo transfer. As the embryo was being placed she nodded her head yes and smiled so big to reassure me once again that this was worth it and everything was going to work out. Our embryo did not implant and we were planning on starting a new round of IVF when 3 weeks later we found out we were pregnant. I’m 90% positive that the progesterone from the IVF cycle is just what my body needed to conceive. Shocked, I immediately emailed Carol (at 6am) and she called me within seconds asking if I could come in right away for blood work to confirm. As I entered the office Carol & Kathy greeted me with the biggest hugs & looked as if they were in tears for me, just so happy for us. They reassured me once again that this was real and that we were finally going to be parents. We officially graduated a couple weeks later after ultrasounds confirmed that I was indeed carrying a healthy growing baby. Doctor Hunter took us into his office one last time to congratulate us & give us that special onesie that I had been praying for since we began our journey, we made it. We walked out into the hallway and hugged Candy one last time with tears knowing this second home we had made, was coming to an end. Infertility is hard, so so hard, and when you are on this journey these are the types of souls that you want to surround yourself with. A family and second home, who truly understand you when no one else seems to. Please if you are on this journey schedule an appt at KFI, it was the best decision we could have ever made. I wish I could send them flowers and gifts everyday to show them how thankful we are for giving us the gift of life. We are expecting a baby girl in July and I cannot wait to bring her to KFI to show the staff what they helped create. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our dream come true, you guys are so amazing, words can’t even describe how grateful and blessed we feel to have taken this journey with you.
We had a great experience with Dr. Hunter and the entire staff at KFI. We had a healthy beautiful baby thanks to their assistance and can’t thank them enough! If you are in need of fertility services I would highly recommend their practice.
Dr. Hunter and his staff were amazing. They were really there for my husband and I as we went through a very difficult process. Dr. Hunter did a great job of explaining the process each step of the way and helped to understand our options. My husband really was impressed when Dr. H talked about the percentage chances of each option. It put his mind at ease knowing that we were making the best statistical choice for success.
I can not say enough great things about KFI. Everyone in their office is so amazing and supportive. Dr.Hunter is always available to answer your questions, judgement free. Struggling with infertility is so hard but KFI somehow makes it easier.
We worked with Dr. Hunter and KFI to great success. He diagnosed one of my Fallopian tubes was blocked and successfully removed it. With the surgery and treatment, we were able to give birth to our healthy little boy on June 20. Highly recommend.
Our journey with infertility began in promising fashion. Dr. Hunter made my wife and I feel at ease and we quickly grew to trust his approach and expertise. Our issues, however, were not with Dr. Hunter. The office staff created multiple unnecessary delays either through laziness or an utter lack of professionalism. In our case, we ended up determining that the use of donated embryos was our best hope to conceive. Our gracious donors were informed that they would need to set up a psychological evaluation prior to proceeding any further with the process. Our donors contacted this office on October 3rd, October 4th, and October 5th in order to schedule the necessary psych appointment. They never received a return call from anyone in the office, nor was any explanation provided to us as to why they had failed to contact our donors.Upon confrontation on this issue, the office staff indicated that they werent sure why the donors were attempting to set up that appointment to begin with as the necessary legal paperwork for the embryo adoption should be done prior to such an appointment. The staff asking that question was the same as the staff that had informed both us and our donors that the psych appointment was the next step in the process.Bottom line, our donors attempted for over two months to set up an appointment they had been told was the next required step in the process, and then were essentially told that their efforts were wasted.Understandably, our donors grew increasingly frustrated with a process which seemed to change from one day to another, and with an office staff that consistently and habitually failed to return phone calls.Fearing that our donors would decide the trouble was more than they had bargained for, my wife and I made the determination that we could not remain clients of this practice.I would strongly urge caution to anyone considering this clinic. My wife and I understand the infertility process is long and uncertain, and that nothing is guaranteed to work; however, we also understand that the complete lack of professionalism by the office staff nearly cost us our embryo donors.
I unfortunately went through 3 pregnancy losses in 2019 and 2020 and made an appointment with Kentucky Fertility Institute to discuss my options. After some bloodwork, we discovered that I had a thyroid condition that was most likely contributing to my inability to maintain a pregnancy. Not only was I diagnosed and prescribed medication to fix the issue, but I became pregnant and was able to receive treatment/ultrasounds for the first 8 weeks of my pregnancy with my rainbow baby which is due in June! Without KFIs interference and care, Im not sure if I would have ever been able to get pregnant again and maintain the pregnancy. So grateful for all their help!
Dr Hunter and Nurse Practitioner Yllena Popovich have consistently gone above and beyond with their care for our family. They’ve been incredibly supportive through our untraditional journey. They were the first to finally affirm our concerns and were quick to prescribe a plan of action.I don’t feel we could’ve been in better hands, I only wish we would’ve made an appointment sooner. Not only is this team professional, quick in response and kind, but everyone from the front desk to the providers has a great sense of humor. We can’t thank them enough.
We loved working with Dr. Hunter and everyone at KFI! He was able to determine what was causing our issues through an HSG followed by a laparoscopy. After 4 months on oral medication we tried an IUI in combination with letrozole. This failed but we decided to give oral medication one more shot before moving on to IVF and I ended up getting pregnant with our baby girl. She was born in August and is healthy and happy. Thank you KFI for being so kind and accommodating!
Update: I wanted to come back and say a few things. My last review was after a tele health app but today was my first day going into the office. I am blown away. The kindness and compassion of everyone was amazing. I am so used to being scoffed at or not taken seriously. TTHESE PEOPEL GET HOW STRESSFUL FERTILITY ISSUES ARE. I am so happy that I found this place. So far we have only had an initial visit but I could not be happier. We did discuss IVF for a few minutes but it is a path I am hoping to avoid so he also told us about a lot of other options that we had. I am excited to have an immediate plan of action in place and a plan if we still cant maintain a pregnancy on our own. He didnt look at me like I was a moron when I started sharing things I have tried, or read, or experienced. He genuinely seemed to care and wants to help us in any way that he can.
I went to 2 fertility clinics prior to this one. I found the best fit for me was at this clinic. The staff is incredibly understanding and helpful. They treat you with the upmost respect and care. You don’t feel like just a number and you feel that your care is individualized. I appreciate everything that they do for their patients.
My wife went in for an IVF procedure and was quoted a total price of approximately twenty thousand with a portion to be refunded if unsuccessful, six thousand. They were very adamant about getting all of their money upfront and rightly so given the nature of the business. The procedure produced a high number of eggs with all of them going into arrest within 5 days. This was highly concerning and raised red flags. We also could not get a straight answer on if this was the result of lab error or the rare chance of just bad genetics. To make matters worse, instead of the Dr. calling my wife to give the devastating news, he had his assistant call. My distraught wife had many questions that the assistant could not answer. It was very unprofessional for the Doctor to not make the call himself, especially after the large amount of money we paid. The final kicker was after all of this, my wife requested the stated refund amount. A month went by with no refund arriving. We were still being hit with loan fees and interest. She called the facility again and was given the response of its being processed. Two months went by and my wife called again. This time we were told it should be arriving in two weeks. Another month goes by with nothing arriving and I personally called the department. Again, we were met with its being processed and should arrive soon. After three months of no payment, we were forced to get an attorney to start the legal procedure of getting our refund back. Magically after this, the check appeared in an overnight envelope with no apology or explanation. This was absurd given the adamant nature of the staff in getting their money upfront and when it came to get ours, we were out of luck. Now we are starting again elsewhere, months behind schedule because of their delay.I hope this helps others in their search for a good clinic. I would recommend you check the CDC website and do a little research, especially with this kind of money being shelled out.
IVF is a hard process so the smartest thing you can do is go to a Doctor that knows what they are doing. I can not say enough about Dr. Hunter and his staff. They know what they are doing and make very intelligent decisions along the way. They are very caring and efficient. They just do things right! Thankful for them for giving me a miracle.
This office broke my heart, the office is beautiful, the staff were nice. The doctor treated me like dirt and spoke down to me during my “free consult” that I received a bill for. The doctor also had an intern so I had two men looking at me with judgement while having one of the most difficult conversations of my life. I had to beg this office to call me back about the cost, left several messages a week. The group seems to be more about making money vs. helping patients. I won’t be back, found a practice in Cincinnati that has better success rates and treats you like a human being.
Wonderful practice. Not only is the environment inviting and warm, the entire team is invested in helping your fertility experience run smoothly. We are so glad we tried KFI after seeking care elsewhere and not feeling supported at all.
At the time of original treatment, I felt like Dr. Hunter’s practice was great. The facilities are new and top notch. However, after 4 failed IUIs, I was told our only option was IVF. We didn’t have that in our budget, so we begrudgingly moved on to explore other options.I called about a month after my last procedure, and paid my bill in full. 8 months later, I got another bill for $250 out of the blue, told that some bills come in much later. I reluctantly paid it, eager to move on from our painful fertility journey, and have since continued to receive further bills. At this point, I am more than 2 years from our last procedure, and still receiving copies of that final bill (that I still believe I’ve paid twice). After building up a community of fellow “infertiles”, I came to believe that there were other options which Kentucky Fertility never offered me to explore. Because my HSG was clear, I was never offered other tests or a potential reason for our difficulty conceiving. After 3 years of infertility, I decided to book a consultation with another local doctor. He agreed that what Dr. Hunter had tried was along the correct path, but was baffled that he had quit before offering other options. The first was a simple blood test to see if there were genetic reasons I’d had difficulty. Clear. The next was a laparoscopic procedure to rule out endometriosis - which my current doctor considers an important step before trying something like IVF.I now have a diagnosis, and have been cleared of stage 2 endometriosis, a large fibroid and polyp, and adhesions on my ovaries. Any or all of which could affect fertility and the painful periods I’ve experienced since I was a teenager, and none of which were expressed as options by Kentucky Fertility. As a result, (TL:DR) I believe that KFI pushes couples to IVF excessively, before exploring easier, less invasive, and less expensive options.
The first thing you might notice about the reviews for KFI is that they are either a 5 or a 1. I’m not surprised at the extremes considering this is one of the most emotional processes you may take on in your lifetime. This is made especially difficult if you are not able to use insurance and must shoulder the financial burden. It is not a decision my husband and I took lightly at 33 years old considering the huge cost we would face for only one shot at conceiving. The complaints repeated throughout these reviews ring true- the office will never answer the phone and most likely will never return your phone calls. However, once you have dropped some money and there is more to be spent you will have access to their email system in which they are generally responsive. (I say generally because at one point when I was nervous about the pregnancy being tubal, I waited days for a response)You will most likely be charged unnecessarily. On three occasions we were sent bills for things we had already paid for in office. KFI uses a separate company for their billing and coordinating with them is like pulling teeth. We had to be diligent in following up to ensure we weren’t spending thousands more than expected.Be aware of hidden expenses. While they will quote you for the initial round of medications, you won’t realize that the costs continue throughout the first months of your “pregnancy” and you of course would do anything, spend anything at that point. They are also vague about the outside costs you will accrue- lab work, anesthesia for procedures.... we got some surprisingly hefty bills. (After the pregnancy proved to be unviable and I was asked for a follow up appointment that would cost a couple hundred dollars. After asking what I would get from this, I politely declined.)Lastly, one of the most disappointing things about the whole process is their paint-by-numbers approach to fertility. Nothing is customized or personalized, it’s one size fits all. We have come out of this process with nothing and having gained absolutely no knowledge as to why we are unable to conceive. There’s no explanation as to why our pregnancy was not a success. You would just hope that after all this time, planning and financing that there would be even a hint of an answer, but really this is a business- you’ll come to the office some mornings where there are so many people packed in that it’s standing room only. They are shuffling people through like cattle. If you’re the woman reading this, sometimes you’re left in the office without instruction. (A nurse once came back and said, “oh, you’re still here?”) Which, by the way, as the woman you will have to be at the office an ungodly amount of times, so be prepared.I would say the one saving grace is the kindness of the nurses. (Not reception- you’re obviously bothering them by existing) While I can’t say how much I appreciate their positivity, the one step that is a little over the line is the constant pressing wordage of “on this day you will be pregnant” and on visits after implantation it’s always “your baby is...” and “now that you’re pregnant”... Just please be aware that this is not really necessarily true. You are hopped up on hormones, yes your body thinks you are pregnant and you are feeling all the changes you’re supposed to, but don’t forget you’re taking these meds and stabbing yourself with needles everyday to induce these things. You may not have a viable pregnancy even with all the casual talk and emotional treatment about how excited they are that they got you pregnant. I am alright with this now, but there was a moment there when I believed them, when I got my hopes up and I wish that we could have just talked about it as it was- more of a sterile science experiment that may or may not work because after all, if you have so many throws one is bound to stick- we just weren’t one of the lucky ones.Even after all of this, when I thought I was pregnant I couldn’t wait to write my 5 star review because it wouldn’t matter anymore, but I don’t have that distraction, that luxury.
My husband and I are still goin through fertility treatments and have had 2 IUIs with Dr. Justice. We are currently waiting to get results on our most recent IUI. The office here is FANTASTIC and I refer people to her all the time! She is very passionate about her career and it means a lot to have someone treat me and actually care about the outcome. Thank you KFI for helping us through this journey!!!
Everyone here is so wonderful. Obviously graduating is the goal, but I was sad to leave here. I wish I could have taken everyone with me to see things through to the finish line. I will forever be grateful for the twins I have as a result of my time with Dr Hunter and KFI. THANK YOU to everyone for helping me achieve my goal of motherhood 💜
Awful place since Dr. Justice left. I got two previous children with no problem, then dr justice left. I just waited in the waiting room for an hour for them to tell me they can’t see me. They don’t care about their patients. They only care about the money they receive from the fertility clinic. I will be finding a new fertility clinic, very disappointed, and apparently you can only have babies if your rich. Got it.
The whole team was very caring and positive throughout our journey. We were lucky it all worked out with our first try and felt they took excellent care of everything from beginning to end. They also helped with finding payment arrangements and we felt their pricing was competitive.
I absolutely LOVE this office and it’s staff. Everyone was wonderful and I’m so grateful to Dr. Hunter. I first visited the office two years ago and am back now for baby number two😊. I highly recommend KY fertility Institute. They are amazing!!!
My feelings are so hurt! I was told just to have a video chat with The fertility Doctor it would be $50 so I paid the balance Now I have a bill that says office visit WE ONLY HAD A CONVERSATION!!!! Concerning fertility no labs no test no visit this is FRAUD!!!!!$678.00 Adjustment $478.00 I paid $50 My Balance is $150.00 WHY???????? Please Please Please FIX this!!!!😢
The people who work here are not only unprofessional they are downright unkind. They laugh at your questions and concerns and tell you they do not have time to answer questions all the while mocking you openly and insulting your intelligence when it is an error they in fact made for which I expect them to rectify and will hold them accountable as medical professionals. There clearly is no professionalism or bedside manner. They do not answer the phone or return calls and it is the most frustrating office. Thinking they can treat patients this way is absurd.
Horrible service. They wanted me to drive over an hour just to pick up a cup. Scheduled my appointment on the wrong day, did not get any confirmation on my appointment, called multiple times to confirm appointment with no answer, drove over an hour to drop off sample and they refused to take it because they didn’t have lab staff, then told me that I shouldn’t have taken the sample at home, which is what they told me to do in the first place.
Have attempted to get my results for 3 months. Zero returned phone calls, not even to my physician. My next option is to drive back to the facility Which is unfortunate because of how far away its located from me.
Dr. Hunter and his staff were wonderful! Very friendly and compassionate throughout my care. Thankful for all their help!
We were here for fertility treatment and we received it from Dr Tiffany, she is so polite and knowledgeable she answered every question we had. Everyone in that institute are so kind and helpful.
Dr. Hunter is the reason I was able to have my son. His thoroughness helped us figure out the problem!!!
Staff is nice. The doctor is not personable at all. He only cares about money and thats it. I advise you to stay away.
Impossible to get in contact with them over the phone
Professionals, kind, best, friendly
Nice enough staff but always running late. Waiting 30 mins for my appointment.
We had a wonderful experience at KFI and with Dr. Hunter. Would highly recommend.
Would be nice if I could get someone to answer the phone instead of always having to leave voicemails
Not recommended.
After several people recommended this place to me, I started my treatment in November of last year and although I havent finished it yet, it is actually a Doctor that God sent me, thank you Dr. Hunter for being such a humane Doctor, so humble and with so much wisdom. Maybe your team is incredible, including each of the girls. I will always be grateful!!
I am extremely happy with Dr Hunter and his entire team, 100% recommended.
You can donate sperm at this center, how much do they pay?
So far I have really liked the care received. Whether the treatment works or not, I feel pleased since everything humanly possible has been done to achieve pregnancy
A great group of professionals and a doctor with a lot of experience work at the clinic and they always help you and answer your questions very quickly. The Felicitos are a group of professionals.
